Bob Marley and The Wailers preforming a soundcheck a couple hours before the Wonder Dream concert would begin. The event was a benefit concert to raise funds to help blind people. (Jamaican Institute For The Blind). They would end up receiving 23,000 dollars.

Jah Shaka appears as himself in the 1980 film Babylon, that's him taking centre stage playing the record Babylon by Johnny Clarke in the sound clash scene. Johnny Clarke's Babylon doesn't make it on to the soundtrack album for the film, this my have been because there was a dispute with Cha Cha Records who initially released the record or perhaps it was the artists disapproval of the violence in the movie, Jah Shaka and Yabby You have expressed their displeasure about this, or perhaps it was something else! It may not be on the soundtrack album but the dismal lovers track Thank You For The Many Things You've Done was released by Chrysalis as single to promote the Babylon soundtrack and Johnny Clarke's Babylon is on the b-side, the 12" version includes the dub found on the original Cha Cha 12"

This is a blog about music from 40-years-ago not 44-years-ago so why am I going on about Babylon and Babylon? The film makes Johnny Clarke's Babylon synonymous with Jah Shaka and in 1984 a different mix is released as the b-side to Johnny Clarke's Got To Be Strong on Jah Shaka Music, the mix is good just not quite as good as the 1980 version (Cha Cha reissued that version a few years back and you can pick it up new for under £20)

La situación en Palestina es urgente y requiere de la colaboración de todos nosotros para brindar apoyo a quienes más lo necesitan. Es por eso que la aportación íntegra de todas las entradas vendidas será donada a estas destacadas asociaciones. Cada euro recaudado se convertirá en un rayo de esperanza para las comunidades que enfrentan desafíos diarios en Palestina.

El precio de la entrada es de tan solo 10€. Incluso si no puedes asistir al evento, puedes comprar tu entrada para colaborar y contribuir a la ayuda humanitaria que tanto se necesita.
