Panther J72, 1977. One of 85 RHD models and the first automatic J72 built with independent front suspension is to be offered at auction in the UK. Three former owners include a former Panther director. The J72 was a loose replica of the 1930s Jaguar SS100 and was powered by various Jaguar engines, the example offered has a 4.2 litre DOHC straight 6 from the first generation XJ6. It is one of only 3 finished in the distinctive 2-tone paintwork and has travelled 37,225 miles

A Jaguar SS 100 that was driven by a RAF pilot in the Monte Carlo Rally is up for sale, and could fetch almost half a million pounds.
The SS100 was one of the first Jaguars to be produced and part-time racer Jack Harrop was quick to buy this beauty back in 1936.
