So this post got me incredibly curious since the tags state that not every episode was checked (The episodes listed were Tori Goes Platinum & The Blonde Squad). I ended up going through every single outfit Jade wore in every single episode between Tori & Jade's Playdate all the way to the final episode of Victorious and found a few additional instances of Jade wearing this Necklace. SO, all the episode's Jade wears Tori's necklace is as follows;
Tumblr media
Tori Goes Platinum (Part 1) ^
Tumblr media
The Blonde Squad ^
Tumblr media
One Thousand Berry Balls ^
Tumblr media
The Hambone King ^
The Hambone King is also a bit of an interesting case, There might(?) be 2 different outfits in the episode with the necklace, but the Necklace isn't very visible with one of the outfits so I'm not 100% sure about outfit #2.
(UPDATE)
Tumblr media
[Grabbed the gif from; tumblr.com/raenchels]
Spotted this gif in the Jori tag that showed the necklace on outfit 2, I was fucking right boys!
There is also an instance of Tori wearing a similar necklace in "Tori Fixes Beck & Jade", but after starring at it for a minute, it isn't the same necklace;
Tumblr media
Anyway, that's my contribution to this decade-old post about something that probably isn't very important, godspeed besties :')

2025 Anticipated Book Releases
My reading goal for this year is the same for last year in that I want to read 70 books! And hopefully a few more nonfiction, as always. BUT my main 2025 New Years Resolution for reading is to read less broadly. I read very broadly last year which was good, but it kind of made me sad in the sense I wasn't reading as many books that are "for me." So! More fantasy this year.
January
Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao (Jan 14th): Set in a pawnshop where people can sell their regrets and past choices. I am always a sucker for a slower magical realism story when done well.
Breath of the Dragon by Fonda Lee and Shannon Lee (Jan 7th): I usually strictly avoid YA at this point but adore Fonda Lee so I'll be reading everything she writes. This is an Asian-inspired fantasy work with dragons.
The Good Mother Myth: Unlearning Our Bad Ideas About How to Be a Good Mom by Nancy Reddy (Jan 25): I am always drawn to gender dynamics that are a little more invisible and have thought there is some absurdity to the idea it's "always the mother's fault." A nonfiction on socially constructed motherhood.
February
A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett (Feb 6th): !!! Probably my most anticipated read. The Tainted Cup was such a breath of fresh air in fantasy last year and the combination of epic fantasy and fun characters was perfect for me personally. This should me another murder mystery and I can't wait.
Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales (Emily Wilde 3) by Heather Fawcett (Feb 11th): I have already read this since I got an ARC but I did adore the ending! This installment started quiet slowly but ended on a much more high fantasy note than I expected in a good way.
March
Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green (March 18): I was surprised by how much I enjoyed John Green's nonfiction essay collection since I found his fiction a little rote. But his essay collection had a bittersweet thoughtfulness I really appreciated. As such, I am very interested in his next nonfiction work.
April
Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry (April 25th): I am among the masses that have followed Emily Henry ever since I read "Book Lovers" and discovered her dialogue. Her work can get a little repetitive after a point, but this had such an interesting premise of two writers competing to write the biography of a reclusive famous author. I'm seated.
Authority by Andrea Long Chu (April 8th): An essay collection on the nature of authority in a world where "everyone thinks they know everything." I am fascinated by this topic.
May
My Friends by Fredrik Backman
Fredrik Backman is one of my authors. I read A Man Called Ove at such a challenging time in my life that it hit like a freight train and I've been following Backman's work ever since. I love when things hurt nicely--and a book about friendship from Backman? I am ready to hurt nicely.
OTHERS
Hemlock and Silver by T Kingfisher, a Snow White retelling (!!! another one of my authors, I adore Kingfisher)
Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by Victoria E. Schwab (I've always been lukewarm on Schwab, but toxic lesbian vampires has my damn ears perked)
You Didn't Hear This From Me: (Mostly) True Notes on Gossip by Kelsey McKinney (I LOVE the Normal Gossip podcast and will be here for this)
------------
If there are any books you think I'll like, lmk! I'm always on the look out for stuff like Jade City or Naomi Novik's work.

U should rank hero names. Like PRT/Protectorate since u did undersiders 🦑 and by that j mean please do so
i like the squid what's it doing here. okay let's see. i unfortunately don't remember all their names very well but off the top of my head. glory girl and kid win are some top hits for me. not in the sense of "they're cool" but bc i like how they're very clearly tonally matching cheesy golden age of comics style names & how that contrasts with [gestures at worm's one million blood explosions and the endless suffering of the wards and what happens to victoria]. and it goes without saying that clockblocker is Top Tier bc, as i have said many times before, a teenage cape naming himself a dick pun on live television so his employers can't force him to take it back + that dick pun cape then proceeding to become incredibly traumatized and jaded, all while going under a dick pun moniker. is incredible. just top tier side character material.
i think gallant and aegis and those type of names are meh. wanton, tecton, etc. they're fine. nothing interesting. i like "raymancer," the vibe there is really fun. bonus points for how he dies horribly.
as for the adults since i was starting with the wards. dragon is fine, honestly too generic for me to love. legend, hero, armsmaster, alexandria, etc, all kind of feel to me like. they're definitely the sort of thing that seems like it'd be iconic--they're easily recognizable and memorable + cool names that anyone would be happy to have, and they do fit the role those heroes are in, but they're honestly lacking in a certain je ne sais quoi. there's no Innovation. there's no Pizazz. solid C tier.
in terms of other good ones. panacea is good. miss militia is honestly great in terms of what it says about the character but i think i can fully award it when wildbow doesn't really seem aware of where the interesting juxtaposition btwn her name and design & her backstory/identity come in. mouse protector doesnt call to me personally but i do appreciate that schtick. is this a satisfactory enough review

I can’t draw but a dear friend of mine @officialarmrest (yes, jumpscare mention!) drew a few of my swap goobers from my “Cross the Jaded Stars” AU
Jaelyn Doorman (pre and post Pilot. Yes, funnily enough, J is our Uzi swap)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Emmett “N” Sterling (with and without his beanie. One of our Thad swaps. I split that role in two. As well as our Doll swap. He's got an older brother by the name of Beau Sterling who also shares Doll's role…yes, he is one of Alice’s sons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Victoria “Vicky” Hart (she’s our Thad/Emily swap)
Tumblr media
Cyn Beaufae (our Lizzy swap and Beau's girlfriend. Star of the medical ward. She's a sweetie.)
Tumblr media
They’re working on the Disassemblers as well… Serial Designation S, Serial Designation E and Serial Designation R (aka, Sam, Emily and Rebecca…who are our N, V and J swaps respectively). Khan and Nori and Tessa have not swapped places. Doll and Thad exist. Doll is also on the arting list.
UrCasualScroller or WonderessFox drew my Solver Host (who likes to hide behind illusions…this being a big ol “eff you dragon”…she’s “shy” and heavily anti-social…has a tendency of biting. I wonder who that could be…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Swap!N and @nanarauwu's version of Uzi!! I really wanna see more crossovers between AU's in this fandom, everyone's really cooking with their designs. ACTUALLY I'd love to see people's AU designs if you got em????

Since many people enjoyed the Peach Blossom Springs build by Epicwork, here are some more builds that they’ve made over the years, along with some historical background on the builds, if anyone is interested:
The Thousand-Year Capital City - Luoyang (千年帝都·洛阳)
youtube
In ancient times, Luoyang served as capital city in Xia dynasty/夏朝 (2070 BC - 1600 BC; the existence of this dynasty is debated among scholars due to insufficient archaeological evidence), Shang dynasty/商朝 (1600 BC - 1046 BC; Luoyang was one of the two capital cities), Western Zhou dynasty/西周 (1046 BC - 771 BC; Luoyand was again one of two capital cities), Eastern Zhou dynasty/东周 (770 BC - 256 BC), Western Han dynasty/西汉 (briefly starting from 202 BC), Eastern Han dynasty/东汉 (25 AD - 220 AD), Kingdom (dynasty if going by the traditional official historiography) of Wei/曹魏 (220 AD - 266 AD; this is part of the famous Three Kingdoms period), Western Jin dyansty/西晋 (266 AD - 213 AD), Northern Wei dynasty/北魏 (386 AD - 534 AD; Luoyang became its capital in 494 AD), Sui dynasty/隋朝 (581 AD - 618 AD; Luoyang became the capital in 605 AD), Tang dynasty/唐朝 (618 AD - 907 AD, including the brief Zhou/武周 during which Wu Zetian was the first female emperor; Luoyang was the capital or one of the capitals starting from 657 AD), Later Liang dynasty/后梁 (907 AD - 923 AD), Later Tang dynasty/后唐 (923 AD - 937 AD), Later Jin dynasty/后晋 (936 AD - 947 AD).
The build here (minus the giant dragon statue of course) is based on Luoyang during Tang dynasty, possibly around the time when Emperor Gaozong or Wu Zetian was in power, due to the presence of the enormous standing Buddha statue (Wu Zetian believed in Buddhism, while most other emperors of Tang dynasty put more emphasis on Daoism, since they claimed to be descendants of the founder of Daoism, Laozi, whose real name was Li Er).
The Garden of Gardens - The Old Summer Palace (万园之园·圆明园)
youtube
The Old Summer Palace or Yuanmingyuan/圆明园 was a garden constructed during Qing dynasty that incorporated elements of Chinese architecture and Western architecture.  The garden used to contain many priceless artifacts, the vast majority of which were stolen by British and French forces in 1860, and the garden itself was burned to the ground and thoroughly destroyed.  As a result of this purposeful destruction, only a few broken pillars remained, standing as a grim reminder to the plundering and destruction that were the results of Western imperialism.
Tumblr media
Epicwork tried to reference old photos and historical records when recreating the garden here in this build.
The quote at the beginning of the video comes from a letter written by Victor Hugo to Captain Butler (boldened portion is the quote):
To Captain Butler
Hauteville House,
25 November, 1861
You ask my opinion, Sir, about the China expedition. You consider this expedition to be honourable and glorious, and you have the kindness to attach some consideration to my feelings; according to you, the China expedition, carried out jointly under the flags of Queen Victoria and the Emperor Napoleon, is a glory to be shared between France and England, and you wish to know how much approval I feel I can give to this English and French victory.
Since you wish to know my opinion, here it is:
There was, in a corner of the world, a wonder of the world; this wonder was called the Summer Palace. Art has two principles, the Idea, which produces European art, and the Chimera, which produces oriental art. The Summer Palace was to chimerical art what the Parthenon is to ideal art. All that can be begotten of the imagination of an almost extra-human people was there. It was not a single, unique work like the Parthenon. It was a kind of enormous model of the chimera, if the chimera can have a model. Imagine some inexpressible construction, something like a lunar building, and you will have the Summer Palace. Build a dream with marble, jade, bronze and porcelain, frame it with cedar wood, cover it with precious stones, drape it with silk, make it here a sanctuary, there a harem, elsewhere a citadel, put gods there, and monsters, varnish it, enamel it, gild it, paint it, have architects who are poets build the thousand and one dreams of the thousand and one nights, add gardens, basins, gushing water and foam, swans, ibis, peacocks, suppose in a word a sort of dazzling cavern of human fantasy with the face of a temple and palace, such was this building. The slow work of generations had been necessary to create it. This edifice, as enormous as a city, had been built by the centuries, for whom? For the peoples. For the work of time belongs to man. Artists, poets and philosophers knew the Summer Palace; Voltaire talks of it. People spoke of the Parthenon in Greece, the pyramids in Egypt, the Coliseum in Rome, Notre-Dame in Paris, the Summer Palace in the Orient. If people did not see it they imagined it. It was a kind of tremendous unknown masterpiece, glimpsed from the distance in a kind of twilight, like a silhouette of the civilization of Asia on the horizon of the civilization of Europe.
This wonder has disappeared.
One day two bandits entered the Summer Palace. One plundered, the other burned. Victory can be a thieving woman, or so it seems. The devastation of the Summer Palace was accomplished by the two victors acting jointly. Mixed up in all this is the name of Elgin, which inevitably calls to mind the Parthenon. What was done to the Parthenon was done to the Summer Palace, more thoroughly and better, so that nothing of it should be left. All the treasures of all our cathedrals put together could not equal this formidable and splendid museum of the Orient. It contained not only masterpieces of art, but masses of jewelry. What a great exploit, what a windfall! One of the two victors filled his pockets; when the other saw this he filled his coffers. And back they came to Europe, arm in arm, laughing away. Such is the story of the two bandits.
We Europeans are the civilized ones, and for us the Chinese are the barbarians. This is what civilization has done to barbarism.
Before history, one of the two bandits will be called France; the other will be called England. But I protest, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity! the crimes of those who lead are not the fault of those who are led; Governments are sometimes bandits, peoples never.
The French empire has pocketed half of this victory, and today with a kind of proprietorial naivety it displays the splendid bric-a-brac of the Summer Palace. I hope that a day will come when France, delivered and cleansed, will return this booty to despoiled China.
Meanwhile, there is a theft and two thieves.
I take note.
This, Sir, is how much approval I give to the China expedition.
Regrettably, none of the priceless artifacts that were stolen had been returned by any of the countries involved, and instead became a major part of the museum collections of various Western countries.  The small portion of artifacts that had returned to China were mostly bought from auctions by Chinese people.  To this day, British and French mainstream media refuse to fully acknowledge the plundering and destruction of Yuanmingyuan.
Lijiang, the Ancient Mystic City (中国风丽江古镇)

I thought the translation for the title should’ve been “the Ancient Mystical City”, but it’s okay.  This is Epicwork’s first Chinese architecture-style build that became popular.  This build is based on the real life Old Town of Lijiang (丽江古镇), which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The real life Old Town of Lijiang has architecture that incorporated features of Han culture and Naxi culture.

Finally, a build that doesn’t really fit the topic of this blog, but personally I really liked it, and just in time for October...

The cathedral in this build is based on Duomo di Milano.

**********
Fiction-wise, this was actually a better year than you'd think from just eyeballing the list. The overall numbers are still below par, and there's too much shlocky formulaic mystery-series-type stuff; but there was a lot of real quality in there. I had real trouble deciding on my top two, and I ended up not giving either prize to a book by Jenna Moran writing at her normal level of quality, so that says something. There were a number of books that disappointed by not being amazing but that I'm still glad to have read (e.g. Summer in Orcus, The Hands of the Emperor). Even the shlocky formulaic stuff had more merit than you might expect, in many cases.
Serious contemplatively-emotional litfic is real good, at its best. Turns out.
Non-fiction-wise, this was a shitshow of unparalleled proportions. I read almost nothing, and what I read was uninspiring. (I started s number of things that I failed to finish, which didn't help.) I seriously considered making this a "no award" year. I am once again asking for your recommendations for really good, deeply-informative, blow-your-mind-open non-fiction.

Rules
I decide what I wanna write. I reserve the right to cancel RPs and dismiss asks if I don't find them appealing.
I write my muses the way I like, according to my headcanons. Be aware of how I write them, before you send an ask. You are welcome to ask me.
No god-modding in the asks. Put my muse in lewd situations, but don't tell me how they act or react!
I do enjoy a bit of setup to get a sense of the scene and inspire me. The less details you give on what your muse does, the harder things get for me, and the more likely your ask gets dismissed.
For the sake of smut, most couples are in open relationships and screw around with other people. BUT if you are shipping muses into a relationship or make them date, I have to agree with the ship myself. Feel free to ask me on my opinions on ships.
If you want to RP, send the starter to my ask box and I'll respond when I am ready.
I won't write Scat, Gore, Blackmail (unless specifically asked) or NTR, though more consensual cucking is still on the table.
Writing many and multiple muses honestly is exhausting. I'd rather write just two muses and focus on them, than speeding through more than that. Two muses is the limit. Three characters tops, but the ask needs to be really good.
If you've read my rules and want to interact, send me [Pineapple Pizza]
I like my canon muses to stay with Canon Muses, and usually prefer OCs with OCs. If an OC is paired with a canon muse, I usually prefer they don't or barely know each other beforehand.
DO NOT spam-like my picture reblogs. It's annoying and makes you look like a bot.
I don't answer to simple, one-word messages in the DMs. If you want something, just say it. Don't be meek and hide your intentions behind civil conversation.
