Lie to me
Where Poseidon's plans to get Percy to accept immortality succeed in the worst of ways. (Currently still WIP)
***
“Do you think this wedding will go through?” Poseidon asked portentously, eyes fixed on Percy and Apollo in the garden below.
Amphitrite couldn’t help it. She laughed. "Why? Do you oppose this marriage now?”
“I’ve always opposed it,” he snapped.
Amphitrite stared at him, a terrible realisation sinking in. “You were their chief support,” she said. Poseidon had threatened Hera and Aphrodite for them.
“I didn’t think it would get this far,” Poseidon uttered in defeat. “It was a trick. A trick meant to be revealed before devastation could sweep across our lives.”
“You wanted her to accept immortality,” Amphitrite spoke, cold.
“There were too many mortals she loved but not nearly enough immortals,” Poseidon tried to justify. “If the love of a parent and a friend was not enough, romantic was the only option left. And say what you will about him, but my nephew has always been good at making people love him.”
Amphitrite swallowed, the desire to support her husband warring with the nebulous affection that had crept in for her step-daughter. Immortality wasn’t a curse provided you had your family with you, which Percy Jackson would. Nothing in Poseidon’s plans meant tragedy for her.
She couldn’t stop herself from categorizing this plot as a betrayal.
“He was supposed to stop once she turned immortal?” Amphitrite clarified.
Poseidon ran a hand through his hair. “He said it would be too much if he were to abandon her the moment she ascended, that she depended on him too much. That it might not be love, but she was still a friend.”
A spear of water flung itself at the wall and drilled a hole into the antechamber.
“I believed him,” Poseidon cursed. “Except he’s violating her trust and her life right now!”
“Maybe he’s really in love,” Amphitrite tried to suggest, searching for any possible explanation that didn’t involve shattering Percy into pieces.
The despair on Poseidon’s face dashed her hopes.
“Haven’t you seen the way the younger gods regard this marriage?” he whispered. “They saw my brother nearly sacrifice one of their own as if he were nothing but a mortal. They watched him constantly make the wrong decisions during both the great wars and try to avoid any responsibility by shoving blame on others.”
Poseidon shook his head. “This isn’t a marriage but a hostage situation.”
“You’re taking about a coup,” Amphitrite whispered in horror.
“A hostile takeover with the force of the sea and the underworld at their back,” Poseidon sighed in exhaustion. “And my daughter – she’s the hero of Camp Half-Blood. She is a Praetor of Camp Jupiter and friends with the current ones. She’s Titan Killer, Giant Killer, and Survivor of Tartarus. How much more would it take to add God killer to her resume?”
Unable to help herself, Amphitrite rushed to the window again, watching the silent image of Apollo peppering Percy’s upturned face with kisses.
“You’re not afraid he’ll betray her,” Amphitrite understood. “You’re afraid he’ll be the best husband anyone can ever desire. The most loving, the most devoted, the most loyal. And in return …”
“I’ll support him against my brother,” Poseidon intoned.
A daughter’s happiness against a brother’s throne.
A demigod’s immortality versus a god’s mortality.
Amphitrite hesitated to even ask what decision Poseidon would arrive at.
Below them, Percy laughed happily, safely ensconced in the arms of the god she loved.

And in the end, they're all liars. I wanted to write a fic where Poseidon tries to have Percy accept immortality, only to regret it in the end. Because the god he was trying to use used him instead.

Technically it's the 2nd Battle of New York
(Just a fun one shot, for all the Percy Jackson fans out there. This is going to be the first story, for a series I'm doing called the Percy Jackson Multiverse! Just a bunch of random crossover stories that I'm doing in prep for the show. Let me know if you want a specific crossover and I'll try to get around to it!)
Percy laughed as one of his subordinates, Mike slipped on the sea spray and landed hard on his but in the middle of the deck. Mike was their newest crew member, just barely a full fledged seaman, and so naturally every little mistake he made was met with never ending teasing and hazing from every other crew member on their little Recuse and Response Boat. But there was nothing cruel about it, just some light hearted joshing for a light heart day. As proven when the Chief Petty Officer stepped forward to help the young man up, with an amused smile and a kind word before ordering everyone back to the stations.
Following the order with a smile Percy turned back to checking the rescue lines, and watching the view. He didn’t think he’d ever get tired of this. The glistening green waves of the bay. The sea salt breeze in his face. The music of a lively harbor. And the grandeur of the New York City skyline as seen from the sea. It was beautiful, and peaceful, and all Percy could have ever hoped for. Especially on days like today, when the weather was fair and there were no missions planned. They simply patrolled the harbor, laughing in the sun, and appreciating the view, until it was time to head in.
It was the perfect job for him! He got to spend all day on the water, where no monsters would dare touch him. He got to help people, and no one cared that he had barely finished high school. He was stationed in New York, which meant he was easily accessible for any of his friends that might need help. And, aside from the odd night shift, he got to go home to Annabeth every evening and wake up with her every morning.
Yep, life was pretty good for First Petty Officer Percy Jackson. And since he had finally extracted a promise from the gods to leave him alone! The Hero of Olympus was happy to say that he was blissfully retired from questing, and ready to live the rest of his life in peace. So naturally everything just had to go horribly wrong, because of course the fates hated him. And it happened as he was talking to his Chief as they looked over the harbor.
“Have you ever thought of rescue diving Jackson?” the Chief said simply. “It’s hard and dangerous for sure. But it’s better pay and more benefits. Plus you get to travel around, see the world. Seems like something you might enjoy. I mean, you’re like a shark in the water.”
Percy shrugged. He’d considered it of course, but that’s not what he wanted right now and he said as much. “All I want, Chief, is a steady paycheck and to go home to my girl at the end of the day. I’ve seen as much of the world as I care to, right now I just want some peace.”
The Chief barked a laugh, Peace? Boy, you're Twenty years old! You can’t even drink yet! You’re too young to be thinking of ‘peace!’ Besides, this job isn’t exactly low stress, so maybe you should consider reexamining your priorities.”
Percy chuckled and shook his head. “I’m happy right where I am,” he said simply as he leaned against the ship's railing, the gentle sea spray brushing his face like a gift from his father. “If that changes, we can talk. But I’ve got a wedding to plan, and a fiancé keep happy. And right now, that means staying in the city for as long as possible without getting into any more trouble.”
The Chief chuckled and nodded, turning back to the bridge. “Fair enough, just remember, that at the rate you're being promoted you're likely to find yourself pigeon holed into a desk job before long. Unless you're trying to make Admiral before you're fifty?”
Percy smiled slyly and said, “Actually I was thinking forty, but who cares, I’m not in a rush.”
They both laughed, and would have continued their good natured discussion of Percy’s future, if at that moment, the world hadn’t changed forever. One minute the sky was as clear as it could be, and then a noise like thunder echoed over the city and across the bay. Every eye was drawn to the skyline, and the swirling patch of space that hung ominously above Stark Tower.
“Holy shit,” the Chief muttered in awe, and Percy spun to look at him. He and every other member of the crew were staring up at the portal in awe and terror. And Percy cursed in Greek. The mist wasn’t hiding this. Every single mortal that Percy could see was staring up at the sky in wonder, obviously seeing the portal (because what else could it be) for exactly what it was.
“So,” he thought bitterly, “ Either the gods have messed up big time, or this isn’t them.” But Percy wasn’t putting his money on this being anything, but a major godly screw up. That was until the giant space mosasaurus flew out of the portal with a reverberating cry, and began to descend on the city. From where their boat was idling, Percy could barely see the thousands of specks flying around the giant space, dinno shark like flies, and then he cursed again. He had just lost his bet with himself, because while Percy Jackson was not always the brightest tool in the shed, he knew his world. And this monster and its swarming army, was not of his world.
“Sir,” Percy said firmly, jolting his Chief out of his reverie. “We need to move, I believe we are being invaded.”
The Chief Petty Officer snapped to attention, nodded once to Percy in thanks and then immediately began barking orders. There was a battle in the city and thousands of civilian boats in the harbor and bay, and they would need to be escorted to safety or rescued from the debris. Their peaceful day had just become a lot more stressful, but they were the Coast Guard. This was their job, and they would do it.
Percy sent a quick prayer to Poseidon and Hestia, two of the few gods who actually liked him, that they would keep his family safe. He then sent a prayer to Athena, Nike, and (after grimacing) Ares to give humanity a chance at victory. He hesitated for only a second as he saw the bright red speck that he assumed was Iron Man, fly up to challenge the leviathan. But he shook his head and focused on his crew.
It looked like most of this battle would take place in the air, where he was less than useless. And unless the Fates themselves showed up and demanded that he take part, he was going to stay where he was most useful, and help as many people as he could. It grated against every protective and battle instinct he had. He wanted to run to his family, to Annabeth. He needed to know they were ok, and safe. He wanted to find the idiot responsible for this and punch them in the teeth. They had ruined a perfectly good day! And all of his training was demanding that he jump into the water, and take charge of the battle.
But he did none of those things. He had a job to do and he would do it. He had to trust Annabeth to protect his family. He had to trust Iron Man and whatever forces he had in stock, to deal with the aliens. He had to trust, and if he saw a chance to kick some alien butt along the way? Well, none of his crew would blame him.
Annabeth stuffed as many people into the boiler room beneath their apartment building as she could. She met Sally Jackson’s eyes as her husband Paul hugged little Estelle tightly to his chest. A soft determination came over Sally’s face and she nodded to Annabeth, silently telling her to go. The greatest mother the world had ever known, turned to the frightened, noisy, crowd and began to take command. Annabeth didn’t wait for Sally to get things under control. Instead she ran up the stairs, taking three at a time before returning to her and Percy’s apartment, and slamming open the door. She didn’t even hesitate as she ran for where her Drakon Bone Sword was on display in their living room before throwing on the spare breastplate, grieves, and helmet they kept in the closet.
She only briefly paused to consider taking her Yankees cap before caving, and stuffing it into her back pocket. She then threw herself down the fire escape, and rolled out into the chaos that was now midtown Manhattan. However, the panicked masses parted for her easily. They understood the significance of a person running the wrong way, and dared not to hinder a person going toward the danger. The only road block she might have faced were the panicked policemen struggling to put up a barrier in a desperate attempt to contain the chaos. But they were all too focused on the literal aliens, falling from the sky to notice the young college woman with a deadly weapon running past them and into the battle.
The aliens, however, had no such blindness. The beasts saw Annabeth easily, and charged her. The daughter of Athena gritted her teeth, and lifted her sword. She silently cursed herself, for running blindly into a fight without a plan and prepared to fight for her life. She didn’t even know if these creatures would be affected by Drakon bone! Or if they had special powers, or weaknesses. What if they were like hydras and could regenerate? It was such a Percy thing to do, that her scowl turned into a grin, and she bared her teeth like a wolf about to rip out their throats. She began to dance with her sword, something she had been training to do since she was seven.
Her grin turned manic, as the alien monsters attacked brainlessly and fell easily. The sword she had claimed from the depths of Tartarus cut through them like butter, and their armor was like match wood beneath her strikes. She quickly evaluated them as she fought, and realized a few things immediately. First of all, these “soldiers” only had the most basic level of combat, and relied completely on their superior weapons and numbers. Second, they were clearly some type of hive mind, since their insensible growls and screams had no semblance of language, but they were far too coordinated to not be communicating. And third, there were too many of them.
They fell before Annabeth like wheat before the scythe, but like the waves of the ocean, there was always another one to take its place. So while these creatures were nothing compared to the monsters she was used to fighting on a daily basis, she knew that eventually they would wear down her stamina and kill her without a second thought. And that was perhaps the most concerning fact. These creatures showed no fear. She cut them down without thought or hesitation by the dozens, without taking a single scratch, but none of them even hesitated to challenge her again, and again, and again. Even monsters had more sense than that, which only confirmed her brainless hive mind theory.
She needed a plan, but for it to work she needed to know who their allies were, where Percy was, and what government organizations were mobilizing to help clean up this mess. That morning, Percy said that he would be patrolling the bay until five, and she assumed that his crew would need him to help rescue civilians and get them off the island. So she decided to cut her way to the Empire State Building, and see what godly intervention she could scrounge up. And they couldn’t say no. They owed her.
Annabeth pulled up short as a great roar echoed through the streets causing some of the windows to shiver. That was not the sound of the alien’s living ships, so it was either a magic beast, or a third party. Annabeth picked up her pace, until she saw the great green form of the Hulk jumping from building to building and smashing every alien he could get his hands on. “ Well,” she thought grimly, “ That explains the roar. ”
Annabeth skidded to a halt and cursed right as she got to the overpass in front of Grand Central Station. A squad of fifty aliens, ten of which were on those strange speeders, had seen her and begun to charge. Needing the high ground, Annabeth scrambled up the bridge support faster than she’d ever climbed the wall at camp. Of course the fact that the bridge wasn’t shaking, or spewing lava definitely helped her speed. She vaulted the barrier, and fell into a battle stance as the aliens tried to follow her.
The good news, the squad of fifty was slowed and dispersed by the climb, and she dispatched the speeders, as easily as evil harpies. The bad news was that she was now on an exposed plan, and she could already see two more squads in the distance moving in to flank her. Annabeth scowled, and looked to where she could just barely see the Empire State building peeking out from behind the towers surrounding her. Then her mouth dropped open in shock, because there standing on the spire, was a figure in armor. It was barely distinguishable, but whoever it was, was clearly directing lightning at the portal, stemming the flow of the invaders and giving the forces on the ground a chance to regroup, and organize.
“Zeus?” She whispered in awe. Was the overstuffed drama queen actually helping? And was he actually being smart about it?!
“Thor actually. Watch your back!” A voice called behind her and Annabeth spun to see a woman with fiery red hair, and dressed in black leather, shoot an alien trying to sneak up on her. Annabeth cursed herself (she was doing a lot of that today it would seem) and put her back to the mortal warrior and cleared a space for them between two overturned cars, that they could use as cover.
This gave them a brief respite, where the two women turned to look at each other with an accepting suspicion. They didn’t know each other. They didn’t trust each other. They clearly had a lot of questions for the other. But at that moment, they were on the same disadvantaged side, and therefore needed each other. So Annabeth lowered her sword and held out her hand, “Annabeth Chase.”
“Natasha Romanof,” the woman said without emotion, but still taking Annabeth’s hand. She then gave Annabeth’s armor and weapon a quick once over and then silently groaned, “Don’t tell me the Greek gods are real too.”
“What do you mean?” Annabeth said slowly, careful not to confirm nor deny anything the woman said.
“Well,” Natasha said with a barely perceivable smirk, as she pointed to the figure summoning the lightning, “That is Thor, a Norse god straight out of mythology. So I assume all of the other ancient myths are based on some facts.”
Annabeth allowed her smirk to be easily readable, she had a feeling she was going to like this mortal. But all she said was, “A logical deduction, but hardly proof.”
“You’re trained, with abnormal strength and reflexes based on how easily you cut through the Chitauri. Also that,” Natasha pointed at Annabeth's sword, “Is hardly a common weapon, and you're dressed in ancient armor. In other words, you’re enhanced, with a connection to the ancient world, and assumed Thor was Zeus. So, yes or no, are the Greek gods real, and what is your connection to them?”
Annabeth grinned from ear to ear. She really liked this mortal. She had to be one of her mother’s favorites. Plus she could see through the mist. “Yes,” Annabeth said coolly, “They're real, and they live in the Empire State Building.”
There was only a brief widening of Natasha’s eyes at this revelation and a glance at the famous monument, but otherwise she remained stoic and sharp as Annabeth continued saying, “I am the daughter of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. No, I’m not a god, my dad is a human mortal. Yes, technically Athena is a sworn virgin. No, I don’t want to explain how I was born. No, I don’t know if they're going to help us. Yes, I do have a plan to end this. Are you willing to listen to me?”
Natasha stood silently for a moment, before she spun to kill a chitauri trying to sneak up on them. She then gave Annabeth another searching look. She seemed satisfied with what she saw, because she nodded, raising her weapons to face down the coming aliens. “Let’s hear it.”
“First,” Annabeth said once more, putting her back to the woman. “Give me the rundown. Who are we fighting? Who are our allies? Do we have support?”
“These buggers,” Natasha yelled over the noise of her guns. “Are the Chitauri. They’re being led by Loki, the Norse god of mischief. He wants to rule the world. On our side we have Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man, you know them?”
Annabeth choked as she sliced off a chitauri’s arm. “Captain America is alive!” She then stabbed the alien in the heart. Natasha nodded to her in confirmation, but her eyes brightened in approval at Annabeth’s viciousness. “Ok,” Annabeth said, shaking her head. It wasn’t the weirdest thing that had happened in her life. “I know the rest, who else?”
“Clint Barton—”
“I know him.”
This time Natasha froze as an alien corpse collapsed in front of her. “How?” Her voice was cold and demanding.
Annabeth noted the woman’s change, and only hesitated to consider Clint’s situation before asking, “Are you in communication?”
Natasha handed Annabeth an earpiece, and showed her how to turn it on. Immediately, unseen strangers were shouting in her ear. But Annabeth ignored them all in favor of the one she hadn’t heard since she was ten years old, begging him not to leave her. “Clint?” she said softly.
Immediately the voices stopped. A voice full of a soldier’s command was the first to speak, “Who are you? How are you on this channel?”
“Clint Barton, Mr. Brunner sends his regards,” Annabeth said, ignoring the questions.
“Holy Hades,” Clint whispered, “Annie? Is that you?”
“Yeah,” Annabeth said slowly, “I’m here with Natasha Romanof. We’re holding the overpass by Grand Central Station. She knows my truth, and she accepts it.”
“Oh,” Clint said, “Um ok…well…this…isn’t ideal. Do we have to do this now?”
“I have a plan to end this, and I need your team to trust me.”
“I’m sorry,” a voice filled with disbelief and condensation filled the earpiece. “Will someone please explain who this child is? And what Legolas is keeping from us? I thought we were past this, people!”
“Can it Tony,” Clint growled over the comms, and Annabeth heard an explosion in the background. “The only person I trust more than Annabeth is Nat. She has been through more wars than Cap, and she was a leader in all of them. If she has a plan, we shut up and do what she says. And don’t even pretend that you don’t have at least thirty skeletons in the closet that we don’t know about. Annie, I’ll tell Nat everything after this. Just tell us what to do. Also, please tell me your boyfriend’s here! We could use him.”
Annabeth blushed at the complements, but shook the embarrassment away before saying, “He’s with the Coast Guard. Unless one of you goes to get him, he’s going to focus on getting civilians away from the battle. But we don’t need him for this to work. Thor, how conniving is Loki?”
“He is one of the most cunning minds in all of Asgard,” a deep, accented, and formal voice declared. “But please, a moment, Sir. Barton has referred to you as Annabeth. You are not the famous Annabeth Chase by chance?”
Annabeth couldn’t help the swell of pride at being recognized by a deity from a completely different pantheon, and said. “The one and only.”
“I suggest that everyone listens to the Warrior Chase,” Thor declared immediately, “Her skill, and wisdom are legendary across the nine realms and further. And if it is true that the Perseus Jackson is nearby—”
“Wait!” Iron Man interrupted again, “Why is she Warrior Chase, while we’re all sirs and ladies? Who is she? And how old are you? You sound young. That’s not just me right? She sounds young?”
“Focus Tony,” Cap said again. And as he spoke, he joined her and Natasha on the overpass. He narrowed his eyes at her, and at first Annabeth was afraid that he would agree with Tony about insisting on her age. But she didn’t give him time to.
“Listen,” she said and she used the chitauri she was fighting as a shield against the blast of the others, before kicking him into his companions, knocking them down before she decapitated all three of them in one fell swoop. “The chitauri are a hive mind.”
“How do you know that?” Tony demanded.
“Not now Tony,” Natasha, Clint, and Thor all shouted at once.
“We need to separate them from their source,” Annabeth continued without missing a beat. “Loki’s smart, so he’ll keep the source as far from the main battle and his enemies as possible.”
“So, on the other side of the portal,” Clint groaned.
“We’ll never get to that,” Natasha agreed as she took a chitauri’s staff and began to use it against him.
“But Loki’s on this side of the portal, correct?”
“He just hoped on a speeder,” Clint said, the hatred in his voice as plain as clear as his hatred for the gods. “My arrow just blew him up, but I don’t think it did much.”
Annabeth nodded, more pieces of the puzzle fitting into place, as she bisected another alien. “Ok, whatever is keeping that portal open needs to be shut down as quickly as possible. The natural distance could cut off the connection, but if not then it will be easier to contain and beat the army. Then we need to capture Loki, and either kill or contain him.”
“I would rather you didn’t kill my brother.”
“Natasha, Clint,” Annabeth said ignoring the god, as was her want, “One of you needs to get to the gate's power source.” She could hear Iron Man begin to protest but she cut him off saying, “Mr. Stark, you, Captain Rogers, and whoever doesn’t go to that monstrosity of a building—”
“Hey!”
“Needs to continue supporting the police and National Guard in defending the city. Thor, you or Hulk need to deal with Loki. I don’t care if you do or don’t kill him. Just make sure he is no longer commanding his forces. I’m going to go see if I can’t call in some extra firepower to speed things along.”
“It’s a good plan, Tony,” Rogers said as he watched Annabeth leap off an exploding car, grab a speeder by the handle, and twist it is that it and its passengers went careening into the side of a building, before dropping down onto an alien twice her size, and plunging her sword into its chest.
“I just saw Loki, I’ll try to drive him back to the Tower, before heading to the tesseract. Steve, give me a boost.” Natasha said, before using the Captain’s shield as a springboard to take control of a speeder going overhead. Ok, Annabeth really liked this mortal.
“I would follow you to Loki,” Thor said with a grunt, “But I am currently facing three leviathans over the harbor.”
“HULK SMASH!” A voice bellowed over the comms, and that answered Annabeth’s question on whether or not the creature could understand human speech. She smiled, and out of the corner of her eye she saw Captain America flinch at the deadly glee in her eyes.
“Oh, this is going to be fun,” she said.
When the leviathan crashed into the harbor and sent a giant wave crashing over, Percy’s boat, Percy willed the water to not harm the civilians, but allowed the current to sweep him away and into the sea. He felt slightly guilty leaving his crew to think he was drowning in battle, but that was offset by the looks of astonishment that they would surely have when he showed up perfectly fine at the base camp in Brooklyn that the first responders were setting up. Besides he had been with the Chief since he was an Apprentice, he knew that Percy was a “strong swimmer” and would be fine.
He had stayed with his crew for as long as he could, and they had almost completely cleared the water of all of the civilian and commercial craft. Now it was a matter of getting the civilians from one shore to the other. A process that he could expedite by talking to the River Lords to convince them to help the boats. With that done, he began searching for overboard civilians and silently shifting the currents to be in their favor. And if anyone began to drown, then he got a little more hands on with their rescue. By bringing them to an abandoned dock, not too far from the base camp, and pulling the water out of their lungs.
The fish helped as much as they could, but they were terrified of the unfamiliar monsters sinking beneath the waves. However, with the help they were able to give, and the blessing of the sea constantly rejuvenating him and giving him strength, more people were saved than lost. After delivering a boy who didn’t know how to swim to the Brooklyn shore, Percy paused and looked over at the battle. The portal was still open, and the aliens were still coming in droves. However, the National Guard, and Army had just arrived. Skiffs full of marines and seals, were pulling into the bay as fast as their fastest boats could go.
But Percy had an eye for war. He had led armies in two great wars before the age of eighteen. And he could tell that it was going poorly. Even with the reinforcements, the island was about to be overrun. Percy closed his eyes and prayed to every god and pantheon he knew for the people he loved and their safety. Yes, even to Hera and Zeus. He didn’t care. He just needed them safe.
A great roar echoed over the water, as two leviathans turned from between the towers and began to fly over the river straight towards the base camp. People began to scream, and Percy cursed. Enough was enough. He jumped into the river, and torpedoed to the bottom and summoned the Spirit of the East River.
“Help me!” he demanded. And where once the Spirit might have grumbled and complained, now he only bowed to the son of Poseidon, who had walked through Hell, and prepared his currents to whisk the mortals to safety, even as Percy began to summon his strength. And although the land was screaming with the chaos of the battle. Under the waves all was silent, as the River god, and the demigod prepared their power.
Then Percy screamed, and thrust his hands up and above his head. Mimicked by the spirit, the East River surged up and a wall of water formed between the two banks. The water grabbed the leviathans by their jaws and pulled them down and into the bay. The great waves formed by the creatures crashing into the rivers and being crushed by the angry guardians of the city, would have, should have, flooded the banks, destroyed the rescue boats, and drowned every individual in the water. But it didn’t. Every nymph and spirit of the waves and the sea, heard the call of their Prince, and their Lord, and surged to protect the innocents in their waters. When the river returned to normal, the piers of Brooklyn were as silent as the depths as the people stared in wonder at the absolute display of power that protected them. Still it didn’t take long for the Captains of the boats to rally and continue their rescue operations.
Percy smiled as he watched the beasts and all of the creatures within them sink into the harbor, before swimming to the center of the bay. The Spirits of the Hudson and the East joined him, and prepared to repeat the feat should any more monsters attempt to leave the island.
Thor choked on air as the river calmed as if nothing had ever stirred them. Had…had a mortal demigod, just done that? He knew that the young hero had power but that…that was the feat of a god!
“Ahem, Warrior Chase,” Thor coughed into his primitive com device.
“Yes, Thor,” the Daughter of Athena said casually.
“I believe, your beloved has joined the battle…he just drowned two leviathans with the help of the river.”
The sounds of astonishment echoing through the comms was enough to soothe Thor’s own ego, before flying off, but the Warrior Chase only chuckled softly and said, “That’s my Seaweed Brain. How are we doing on Loki and the portal?”
“Puny god,” Hulk’s gruff voice grumbled, drawing a laugh and chuckle from the rest of the team.
“Guys,” the Black Widow called, “I’m at the tesseract. I can close it.”
“Do it!” The Captain shouted.
“Hold up guys,” Tony called, “I got a nuclear warhead coming our way. And I know just where to put it.”
The Warrior Chase cursed so colorfully in Ancient Greek it made Thor blush, before she demanded in a tone that brokered no argument, “What idiot fires a nuke at their own city?!”
Annabeth watched the SHIELD Agents swarming Stark Tower and carting off every piece of alien tech and biology that they could get their hands on. Many times, the gruff looking men with guns and the shifty little men in lab coats tried to approach her, but she just gave them the Wolf Stare that Percy had taught her, and even the largest of them did a one-eighty to avoid her gaze.
“Hey.” Annabeth turned to see Barton watching her with a mix of pain and sympathy. She fixed him with the stare, but when he did no more than grimace, she sighed and turned away. Taking that as the vague acceptance that it was, Barton leaned against the wall beside her and watched the rest of the “Avengers" and Agents begin to transport Loki out of the Tower. “I’m sorry,” Barton finally whispered, “If I had known that the prophecy was coming—”
“How did you learn about them?” Annabeth interrupted, refusing to soften her voice. She was furious with him. Had been for years, and he was not getting out of this. Barton just sighed and said,
“Will showed up a few weeks after the Second Giant War,” he said softly. “He needed a place to grieve, and he didn’t think he could do that properly at camp, because—”
“Because at camp,” Annabeth finished finally softening with her own grief, “He is a leader, a healer, and needs to be strong for the others, so that they could heal.”
Barton nodded solemnly. “Gods,” he muttered, “I never wanted to see any of my siblings like that. Crumbling under the weight of two wars. That shouldn’t have happened, to any of you, you're just kids.”
“I haven’t been a kid since I was seven years old,” Annabeth said simply, without condemnation or bitterness, just a simple statement of fact that no one could deny.
Barton nodded gravely and said again, “I’m sorry. I never should have left. I just…I was just so angry with the gods, with Chiron. He did his best, but…it wasn’t enough. They weren’t enough. Their empty platitudes and false promises. I couldn’t take it any more. I had to leave before I snapped.”
Annabeth nodded, “I know. And…I understand…I didn’t then, but…I do now. And I’m sorry to, I should have searched you out a long time ago.”
Barton didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around the young woman. They didn’t cry, or sob, or laugh. They just silently held each other in grim understanding of their world and their place in it. The play things of gods, of parents, who barely knew how to care much less love the mortals they had sired. Finally, Barton pulled away and said with a soft smile, “Hey, we’re all going to get shawarma. Care to join us? And Percy of course! I find I’m suddenly really nostalgic for camp, and I would love to hear how everyone is doing.”
Annabeth nodded and cleared her throat. “Yeah,” she said, “That sounds great.”
“So, Barton is the son of the sun?” Tony said rubbing his temples in a vain attempt to ward off a headache, “The Sun’s Son if you will?”
Barton rolled his eyes lazily and said, “Yes, Stark I’m the Sun’s Son. Sorry I couldn’t tell you, but you wouldn’t have believed me anyway. Happy?”
“No,” Stark said weakly, and dropped his head into his hands.
A chuckle drew Natasha’s gaze back to the two other demigods and Thor chowing down on their shawarma as if they would never eat again. They were completely unfazed by the fact that they were surrounded by gods and legends, after having faced an army beyond their imaginations. But if half of what Clint, Thor, and these kids had said was true…then this was just another Tuesday for the young adults in front of them. Still, Natasha believed them. The weight of command surrounding the girl. The aura of power circling the boy. The hidden under currents of grief and horrors lurking behind their eyes. These were kids who had seen the worst of the world and had conquered it. And still, every time Natasha looked at them, Annabeth in her dirty armor, and Percy in his tattered Coast guard uniform, she couldn’t help but think, “ They’re too young for this life. ”
Steve seemed to think the same, because he leaned forward and said, “So how old were you during your first war?”
“Fifteen, actually turned sixteen during the final battle!” Percy said around his shawarma, “Unless you're asking about how old we were when we first started training. In which case, I came to camp at twelve, and Annabeth when she was seven.”
“But,” Annabeth said after whipping her mouth, “Percy faced his first monster at…three?”
“Snakes in the crib,” Percy agreed. “Freaked my mom out. Not that I can remember it of course.”
“Spiders in my sleep,” Annabeth shivered, “I was six.”
Barton shook his head in commiseration, “Yeah, I was lucky. Harpy when I was ten. That’s when I went to camp too.”
“Are…are you ok?” Banner asked softly looking between the three of them with utter pain in his eyes.
“Oh you know,” Percy said, finally swallowing his food, “Aside from the anxiety, paranoia, PTSD, and occasional death quest because the gods still won’t leave me alone! We’re just peachy!”
Everyone except Thor and Clint stared at them in horror, but Annabeth just waved their concern aside saying, “Look this is just the life of a half-blood. It sucks. But we deal with it. And believe it or not, it’s actually getting better.”
Percy nodded emphatically, and pointed at Clint with his fork saying, “You really need to come back to camp. So much has changed. No one’s unclaimed any more. There's cabins for the minor gods. Annabeth designed this awesome temple that’s going to represent literally every single known Greek god. It’s absolutely beautiful. They started building it last month, and it’s already looking incredible!”
“Percy!” Annabeth hissed as she tried to hide her blush, but her boyfriend just kept going.
“Oh! And we’ve expanded the border, and we’ve started building housing for adult demigods who want to live in safety. They commute to the city and other mortal towns in Long Island for school and work. It’s not perfect. But it’s the first step in building a place where demigods can actually live their lives in peace from birth to grave.”
The look of pure joy on Barton’s face was so bright it was almost blinding, and Natasha had no problem believing that he was a son of Apollo. “That’s wonderful! What started that?”
“Oh, the Roman demigods have had their own city for generations,” Annabeth said dismissively, “It sounded like a good idea. So we convinced the gods to expand the border and provide the materials for all of the building projects as a reward for defeating Gaia. They call theirs New Rome. So we were thinking of calling our city, New Athens, or New Sparta, or something like that.”
Clint laughed saying, “Let me guess, cabins five and six can’t agree on which one?”
“They won’t stop arguing!” Percy groaned as he drew his hand over his face. “Capture the Flag has become an all out war trying to decide!” Clint burst into laughter, as Natasha turned her questioning gaze to Annabeth.
“The children of Ares and Athena,” Annabeth explained with a slight smile.
“You all do realize there were more Ancient Greek cities than Athens and Sparta right?” Bruce said slowly.
“Wait!” Tony cried, waving his hand wildly, “Go back. Roman demigods?! Just how many pantheons are there?!”
Percy and Annabeth shared a look that sent a pit of dread into Natasha’s stomach, and Tony’s head thumped onto the table in defeat.

Oct. 30, 1936: Is Hollywood just a workshop to Clark Gable?
Tumblr media
Is Hollywood just a workshop to Clark Gable?
To most of the other stars Hollywood is not only where they work but where their homes are. Their trips to Palm Springs, Caliente and Broadway are visits away from home. Not so with Clark Gable, to whom Hollywood is just a starting point for his many travels in search for adventure.
Only this week he asked MGM for a three months’ leave of absence next Fall, so he may go hunting in the jungle. The minute he quits work Clark Gable quits Hollywood. “My home is under my hat,” he once remarked.
A wanderer at heart is this romantic star, who holds his place regardless of the newcomers climbing to popularity. He is no home body. He has too much vitality and surplus energy which keeps him always on the go. It’s a good bet that when he retires from the screen, travel will be his hobby, and you will be hearing about him from every odd and out of the way corner of the globe.
“Screen work is exacting, calling for both mental and physical effort that is a real strain,” he says. “I like to get away, press down the accelerator and head out into the open spaces. I let off steam, readjust my viewpoint and return rested and ready to tackle the job of acting again.”
Hollywood has never had all of Gable. Even when making a picture he’s planning a hunting trip to Canada or Wyoming’s Jackson Hole, or a fishing expedition to Pyramid Lake in Nevada, where trout grow to the size of whales.
When he sees a longer vacation, he’s off to South America, as he was last year, or contemplating Europe or the Orient as his next stopping place.
Clark Gable loves excitement, action – away from the camera. He goes in for horse racing – his mare, Beverly Hills, isn’t a blue ribbon winner, but she keeps Gable sane while he’s on the job of making love to the gorgeous girls of the screen.
Behind the screen there is his current romance with Carole Lombard, his first real playmate with congenial tastes. Carole is a gypsy at heart. She likes nothing better than a get away in slacks in the rumble seat of an auto. She’s vital and young and gay, with the finest sense of humor in Hollywood.
Gable, married to women of maturity while on his upward climb, is now scaling the heights with the first woman who can laugh with him and not at him.
The two are like a pair of children, they picnic together, and their chief amusement in the evening is popping corn before the fireside of Carole’s Bel Air mansion.
Incidentally, there is no dining room at Carole’s house, grand though it be. She prefers card tables set anywhere around the house, and when there’s a crowd there’s a buffet supper.
The informality and fun of Carole Lombard are the chief attraction for Clark Gable. Whether the two will wed when Gable’s divorce is final is in the lap of the fickle gods of filmdom.

After their intimate wedding in Jackson Hole, Tessa & Kyle planned a fun hot springs adventure session in Wyoming! They’re from Florida, & with Kyle as an underwater photographer, water is a pretty big part of their lives. They even got into the water during their elopement day in the Tetons for some fun photos! I went location scouting for their adventure session & this little area in Wyoming was just perfect. The waterfall, surrounding mountains, & the hot spring were just pristine! If you know anything about me, you should know that I LOVE hot springs. So I was super stoked when Tessa & Kyle were down for this adventure session. 3 years goes by too fast. My beloved Big Brother, you'd be 27 now, probably a father of even more stair step little girls, with a few more bronco rides under your belt and miles under your boots. I think there would be more cows in the world now, you'd have made sure of that.
I'm doing alright. I own my very own fancy shmancy photography business now, and I get to see a lot of beautiful things, and any time I'm afraid to talk to people about the Good News I use you as my inspiration. I don't know if my life would be the same; losing you was profound for me in ways I struggle to explain to people. Sure we come from a big family, but that doesn't mean we love each other any less than small ones.
Zach Bryan came out with a song that feels relatable the same weekend as your death anniversary. Gosh you'd hate that. Too sappy, you'd tell me through the mustache. Quit cryin Elizabeth, life's too short to cry and carry on - turn off that racket and put on something with a good twang. (My last video of you, btw, is you dancing on that dang stripper pole to Alan Jackson on that party bus we all rented for after David and Lacey's wedding, and I've stuck by my word to never show Mama, promise promise!) But, since you're not here to steal my phone and hide my sad songs away, I will indulge in a little crying - with Zach as good company.
There is a You shaped hole in the world, but I take some comfort in knowing you made the ultimate selfless sacrifice and have helped so many people. The boy who got your heart is a man now, and that's thanks to you CJ. He reached out to Mama today to check on her, and told her he got into the nursing program.
I suppose you already know this but the Wright family their little boy suffered a brain injury from drowning. Knowing they're going through the same agony we went through, but even more because he's just a baby, well it's gut wrenching. Having to make impossible decisions with so much unknown is not something I wish on anyone, least of all a mother.
The girls are getting big and Lord do they have your personality. Full o' piss n' vinegar as Mama would say. "Spicy" as your wife says. They also have your big open heart though and definitely your zest for life. They are a handful just like you. Thank you for having them, I get to still love all of the best parts of you through them and gosh we love them so much.
That song you love has that line "life's a bull when the gate gets pulled you better be holding on tight". God knows you had a heck of a grip but our Father in Heaven had other plans that we don't fully understand quite yet, but I know one day we will.
See you on the big wide open range in the sky 💕 You are missed always and forever Big Brother
Tumblr media
The anniversary of my brother's death is coming up, and 3 years later I'm shocked at how the grief can creep up and swallow me still. If I think about him more than in passing I still weep. I'm still overwhelmed by the absence of his belly laugh and mischievous grin. I still feel rage creep up when I think about how unfair it all is; his 3 young children were too small to have personal memories of him, and must subsist on what we show and tell them. His beloved wife only got 5 years with him total - some people get 60. Our view into God's plan is so narrow, I know, I really do, but still, why him?
CJ was something else. A real gen-u-ine cowboy. Tough hands, crinkly eyes, and an ever present grin. Quite the dancer. A heck of a card player. An even better choir singer. He was never short on jokes or belly laughs. The best darn bow hunting partner I'll ever have. And gosh he loved his wife; the sun rose and set on her from the moment they memorably met (she slapped his rear end on a dare during a rodeo and told him to quote "giddy up cowboy"; they were wed 18 months later). He was an incredibly doting father who insisted on doing the late night feedings because work kept him so busy in the daytime. And most of all he was a true Christian who shared God's Word with most anyone who would listen and loved his neighbors.
Every year I approach being older than he ever was. 24 years and 18 days, 6 hours and 32 minutes (I'm sure Mama knows the seconds.) It's unnatural to grow older than your big brother, and each of us younger siblings marches toward it; my sister surpassed him recently and fell into hysterics once she realized. The clock now looms over me like the shadow of death itself.
It was a farm accident. A freak thing. Everyone tried their best to save him; first his wife, then the neighbors, then local EMTs, a flight nurse and a paramedic, countless nurses and doctors and specialists from The Big City. They all wept with us as he took his final breaths, surrounded by more people than the hospital was technically supposed to let in. It took him an excruciatingly long time to pass on once support was pulled, and his heart only finally slowed and stopped when his wife assured him "I've got this CJ, don't worry, I've got the kids and the cows, you go on home now".
I can't even type that without shaking.
I hardly knew her before they wed, and not much more before he passed away. She became much more than the mother of my nieces in the wake of his death; she's well and truly one of the strongest people I know, and a true sister to me. I'll never be able to thank her enough for giving him peace enough to let go in his final moments. She's not much of a dancer or a card player, and she can't so much as hit the side of a broad barn with a bow, but I like singing with her in church, and she's helping me learn to quilt now.
I read somewhere that grief is just love with no place to go. So tonight as my throat aches with thoughts of CJ, I'll pour out some of this love. Into my dogs, my horses, my plants, my nieces, my sister-in-law, my sister-in-law's new boyfriend, and God, who I know is in control and has a Plan, who has overcome the grave, and whose will I submit to even if at this moment it's painful. Because I know He keeps His promises.
"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

Get to Know Kendra of Simply Grand Events
Tumblr media
Known for her exquisite events and ability to turn a client’s dream into a reality, the Jackson-based Kendra Hobson with Simply Grand Events has garnered national acclaim with recognition from Martha Stewart Weddings, Rocky Mountain Bride and Snippet & Ink to name a few thanks to her creativity and attention to detail. We caught up with the busy Kendra for a quick Q&A. Here, she is sharing her expertise on wedding planning in Jackson Hole and giving us a look into her every day.
What made you choose wedding planning in Jackson Hole?
It kind of chose me. I was working in interior design when the market took a toll for the worst, projects became slim, and the job felt stagnant. I was approached by my wedding florist to start a wedding planning company with a focus on design and full-planning. I hit the ground running with large weddings right out of the gate and fell in love with the clientele, the fast pace work environment, the local vendors, and the creative aspect of the whole thing. Making such an important event come to life and feel seamless is such a huge responsibility but I love it.
What is your typical day?
Most of my clients are destination weddings so most of my days are filled with emails and phone calls with clients and vendors as well as lots of research and design. I love to bring something new and unexpected into each event so finding those perfect elements to bring everything together is always a fun challenge.
What are the top wedding trends in Jackson Hole?
Trends definitely come and go but in the 8 years I’ve been doing this, I have found that couples always want to bring the outdoors in, not changing, but enhancing the beautiful landscape. Flowers, linens, and all of the details can make a big impact, but I like to keep the integrity of the surroundings and the people as the main focus.
The trends I’m seeing this year:
My couples this year are moving away from the typical wedding schedule with the sit down dinner, toasts, dancing, cake, etc. They want everything more fluid. Not casual, but less regimented.
The bohemian-rustic look is taking a break and people are going more classic, romantic, and wild. Keeping the focus on a few key elements that really play to the whole vision rather than a mish-mash of lots of eclectic pieces. Its much prettier and more purposeful, which I’m loving.
I try to encourage me clients to never shy away from something bold and unexpected; a cool textured linen, a modern lighting installation, a different seating arrangement for max flow and overall effect.
What number one thing do you do to prepare for a big wedding?
I make sure I have spoken with the couple one more time before the big day to ensure any loose ends or concerns are addressed and put to bed. That and I charge my phone. I am on the phone and running like crazy every wedding day. Keeping a super detailed schedule of the day with me at all times to make sure everything is running smoothly and efficiently.
What is the number one thing you tell your clients to do to prepare for the big day?
I would tell me clients that the number one thing they can do to prepare for their wedding day is “let go”. Let go of any family drama or wedding party drama. Let go of the schedule. Let go of the things that will go wrong or are not as you envisioned them because focusing on those things will make you miss the wonderful things that are going right. I try to make sure my clients are very informed about how the day will look and where they need to be so that on the big day they can truly feel like they can let go of it all and enjoy.
What is your favorite weekend thing to do when you aren’t working a big event?
I love going to the lake or river with my family, friends, and dogs to paddle board, fish, drink rose, chat and snack until everyone is sunburnt and ready to go home. Having a seasonal job that is very busy in the summer is bittersweet, but the water always resets my brain and reminds me to slow down.
What’s your go-to hostess gift?
A classic never dies! I try to always bring a nice bottle of wine and seasonal flowers. Nothing they have to display or hold on to, but that they can enjoy right away.
What do you love most about living in Jackson Hole?
The outdoors, the people, and the pace. I grew up in Wyoming, so being outside all year is essential. The people in Jackson Hole are so wonderfully diverse and cool. Everyone has a story and is incredibly laid back. As a young professional, it’s a really fun town to work in because everyone is very smart and creative. I love when meetings are a Josie’s hike or margaritas on the patio. It’s the only way to do business.

How long have you been standing there?
A/N: For prompt “How long have you been standing there?” for @xxwritemeastoryxx's 2k follower celebration(go follow her for real good fanfic).  Yeah I am late af but long story short life derailed all my creative plans. Btw sorry it was post tag apocalypse for Apple phones. Angest and cheating.
Elijah was going about his day when he saw Hayley. He was fascinated by the way the sun coming in caught her face. She looked like she had an inner glow to match the sunlight she was in. Her daylight ring was sitting perfectly nestled next to her wedding ring. It was such a pretty sight that completely haunted Elijah. She was perfect and completely not his.
He just took her in. She looked at peace and it was a memory that would be burned into his head for as long as he lived. He knew staring was not good manners. Yet when it came to Hayley no matter what, Elijah could never help himself. She was his weakness and something he craved.
It was another breath before Hayley noticed him. “Do you make a habit of staring at people?”
“When it comes to you I might.”
“That might not be wise.”
“Wisdom does not run in my family.”
He could hear her but at that moment she felt too far away. He closed the gap.  “Elijah..” She started to argue about it.
He leaned down and closed the gap between their lips. He pulled back. “I have always loved you and I can not stop. I never have wanted to stop loving you.” Elijah said
“Elijah..” Hayley started again, trying to stop his  confession and the way it was persuading her.
He pressed his lips against hers to stop her words. He only pulled away when he knew he had control of the conversation. “I have loved many people but How long have you been standing there?”  He directed the last part towards you.
How long have you been standing there? It was like he was accusing you of walking in on a moment. You were his girlfriend and he was declaring undying love. You should have been the one he was declaring it to but it was Hayley.
You could have screamed! You had asked over and over again if this relationship was something he actually wanted or if you were a distraction. Elijah, the righteous brother, had given you his word that he wanted it. Now he was telling Hayley he loved her and kissing her.
"How long has this been going on?" You croaked out.
You could read the guilt on his face. It told you two things. One, he didn't want to hurt you. The other tore your heart out. It had been in the background between the two of them since they had met. A small part of your heart broke for their constant love that could never be. “Did you ever even care about me?” Your voice somehow came out.
This face you knew, and it re-ripped your heart out. It was his I can not believe someone would ever think that lowly of me. You felt the tears form in your eyes. You wanted to cry, you wanted to scream and you wanted him to say something. Anything at all. Most men when they were caught cheating apologized. Some tried to deny it. He was just standing there like him and Hayley being together was the most natural thing. You hated that he was mostly right.
You had heard most women are upset with the other woman. You couldn’t bring yourself to be. You had been there long enough to know that she resisted him as well as anyone would expect her. Hayley had actually been the first Mikealson on your side and an amazing friend. You really wanted some of the anger you felt towards the man you loved to be directed at her. Yet none of it could.
A little part of you said to tell Jackson. You could make this explode and destroy a bit of him. The part that still loved him couldn't even bear the thought of hurting him. "She has been here for  as long as I have been." Jackson's anger barreled from the other side of the room.
The moment burst into a yelling fit that seemed endless. Before it was halfway over, you were bone tired and crying. You decided to slip away and out of Elijah’s life. It took you the remainder of the argument to punch a hole in your broken heart and leave a hole in Elijah’s life. As soon as you hit the state line you swore never to enter Louisiana again. tag list: @remembered-license @akshi8278

The Journey to ‘I Do’ - Mer x Hayes
Wow. Okay. The 4th fic I was talking abt yesterday. Life kind of got in the way and really prevented me from finishing this one yesterday night like I’d wanted. This one is going to need a keep reading line because it is officially the longest fic I have literally ever written. It’s 4.2k words. 4.2k words of pure and utter love and fluff. This is the last fic you’ll be getting from me (aside from the Christmas fic on Christmas day) for awhile, because I go back to work this week and it’s Christmas week and also the week my final is due, which means I will be a busy bee over the next little while. I really hope you all like this fic, it’s one of my favourite ones I’ve ever written and I hope it gives you all as many feels as it did for me while I wrote it. And just a disclaimer, YES, I know they probably won’t get married on the show. But AU’s are fun to write, and everything I write is usually just for fun and to fulfill my own or someone else’s headcannons and hopes that are fun to think about. Okay, that’s all, enjoy :)
“A small wedding, Maggie. Please. That’s it.” Meredith begged her sister as she walked out of her house, heading to work. Maggie had been pestering Meredith to let her plan a more grandiose wedding since she’d been told that she could even plan the wedding at all. Mer and Hayes had been adamant about a small wedding right from the beginning, although Meredith more than Hayes. He would never admit it to anyone, but his boys had quickly warmed him up to the idea of a larger wedding that their friends and family from the hospital were invited to. He couldn’t decipher if it was just because Liam wanted a reason to party or if he genuinely cared, but he couldn’t help but entertain the idea as he lay next to his fiancée in bed at night.
Maggie smirked and turned to Amelia, who was laughing to herself as she listened in on Maggie and Meredith’s conversation. “You’re not gonna plan just a ‘small wedding’, are you?” She inquired. Maggie smirked at Amelia. “How well do you think Cristina Yang can keep a secret?” Maggie said, confirming Amelia’s suspicions. “Do you want me to talk to Jackson today when I go into work?” Amelia asked Maggie, officially hopping on board the crew of people who were working on the surprise wedding plans for Meredith and Hayes. Maggie’s eyes lit up. “Oh my god, could you? That’d be amazing!” Maggie exclaimed as she flung open her laptop and added Amelia and Jackson’s name to the list of people who’d be helping out. The list already included the likes of Bailey, Richard, Jo, Link, Winston, Owen, and Teddy.
As Amelia got into work, she quickly found and cornered Jackson. “Avery!” She yelled, diverting his attention away from his conversation with another staff member. “I- we, we need your help.” Jackson looked at Amelia, confused. “You need me for a consult or something?” He said, after excusing himself from his previous conversation. “No. Maggie and I. We, uh-“ She paused, looking around to make sure neither Hayes nor Meredith were around. “We’re hoping you could help us with a surprise for the wedding.” Jackson nodded in understanding. “Yeah, sure. What do you need?” He said as he crossed his arms and backed into a more private space for him and Amelia to talk about the wedding, knowing she wouldn’t want Meredith or Hayes to overhear. “We wanted to know if you could get in touch with Cristina. Get her over here for the wedding somehow.” Jackson raised his eyebrows at Amelia’s request. “I haven’t talked to Yang in a few months. But I’m sure I could make it happen. Okay, yeah, count me in.” He decided. Amelia grinned and gave Jackson a high-five. “Thank you!” Amelia squealed as she left the scan room.
“Oh, hey Avery. What’s up?” Cristina said as she answered the unexpected phone call from her friend and former colleague. “How well do you think you could keep a secret from Meredith and Hayes?” He asked, cutting right to the chase. “Probably pretty well. Why? What are you hooligans planning now?” She asked with a slight amusement in her voice. “We were hoping to fly you out so you could be there for their wedding. But we don’t want either of them to know.” Jackson explained. Cristina smiled behind the phone, intrigued at the idea of surprising her best friends at their wedding after she helped Hayes plan the engagement. “Wait, Meredith and Hayes are letting you guys plan a wedding for more people than just the two of them?” Cristina quipped back, knowing full well that Meredith was never a fan of having a wedding of her own. “No. Mer’s been unsurprisingly pretty adamant about having a small wedding. But she left the planning up to Maggie, and now half the hospital’s involved and neither of them know.” Cristina smirked. “Well in that case, absolutely. Just let me know a date and I’ll be there.” She told Jackson. “Great. Listen, I have to go now, but I’ll talk to you later and give you more details later.” He said as he received a page on his phone. From Meredith. ‘Great timing, Mer.’ He thought to himself. “Alright, bye Avery.” “Bye, Yang.”
Wedding dress shopping. The thing Meredith was admittedly looking forward to the least. However, her daughters wanted to see their mom get all dressed up in pretty dresses. And Jo, Amelia, and Maggie had begged her to try dresses on like starving puppies begging for food. How could she say no? She’d deprived them of the big friends and family wedding that they wanted, she couldn’t rid them of everything they were excited about. “Okay, before we go in, what did I say again?” Meredith said as she turned on her heel and stood to face her entourage, arms crossed. “Nothing expensive.” Maggie said. “Nothing poofy.” Amelia said. “And most of all, no sparkles.” Zola piped up with a smile. Mer nodded her head at the girls and turned back around, entering the bridal shop. ‘Here goes nothing.’ She thought to herself.
An hour into her dress appointment, Meredith had yet to find anything she really loved. And she was not one to be known for settling. Ellis decided to run off into the dress racks, worrying Meredith. She was still little and young, so it was likely that she could pull a dress off the rack and have it been the complete opposite of what she wanted. She didn’t though. She, with the help of Amelia, brought over a stunning, form fitting, white halter dress with a satin sash across her waist that came with no sparkles, fit her like a glove, wasn’t expensive, and looked stunning on her. “Wow, Ellie, this dress is beautiful.” Meredith said as she stepped out of the fitting room. She looked in the mirror and smoothed the dress over her as the girls behind her fawned over the dress and she slowly fell in love with the gown she was wearing. “Meredith… you look stunning.” Jo gawked over her friend. “Yeah. Wow.” Amelia and Maggie said simultaneously. “Momma, is this what you’re gonna wear to marry Hayes??” Zola asked enthusiastically. “I think it is.” Meredith said, smiling at her daughters, sisters, and Jo, who were all beaming with pride.
Next up on Maggie’s list of secret wedding things to accumulate was the dresses for the bridesmaids and the flower girls. She knew this excursion was going to be trickier than the one for getting Meredith a dress, because she had to find dresses for herself, Amelia, Jo, as well as Cristina, along with dresses for Ellis and Zola. This was where Teddy and Owen came in. They generously agreed to hide all of the dresses at their house so Meredith wouldn’t get suspicious, then transport them to Richard and Catherine’s house the morning of the wedding. And so, off went Amelia, Jo, Maggie, Zola, and Ellis to try on pretty dresses for themselves. After hours of searching in several different stores, they’d finally agreed on these beautiful V-neck, olive green, A-line dresses with short, ruffled sleeves. One by one, things began to fall in to place. Sweet and simple gray lacy dresses were bought for Ellis and Zola. Jo dropped all 6 dresses off at Teddy and Owen’s and the gang moved on to phase 3 of planning.
Decorations was what Maggie dreaded planning the most. She knew that her sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law would hate an overly decorated wedding for themselves. If she was being honest with herself, she didn’t exactly have an idea for what to do. So, she went to Pinterest. This may or may not have been a great idea. Pinterest became a complete and utter black hole of ideas for Maggie. She bought string lights – and lots of them. Fairy lights, and white Christmas lights mainly. She bought chiffon drapes to hang on a homemade wooden alter. She bought fake vines and a few flowers. She rented tables, and chairs. Once she was finished with her Pinterest spiral, she consulted with Richard as to how they would decorate his backyard – that was his contribution and involvement in Maggie’s scheme for a wedding that would satisfy the wants of attendants, as well as Meredith and Hayes. Hopefully. He owned this beautiful, large home, with a backyard big enough to fit the people invited.
Bailey’s involvement in the wedding was much more sentimental. She was officiating the wedding. This was quite literally the only detail of Maggie’s wedding plans that Meredith and Hayes had been consulted on. Mainly because Bailey demanded that she hear it from Meredith herself that she wanted her to officiate. They all loved the idea. Bailey encouraged them to write vows and thank god she did, because Maggie had been stressing about how she was going to convince Mer and Hayes to write sentimental crap without it seeming suspicious. Bailey’s idea for them to write vows reprieved her of that worry completely.
As it got down to the final few days before the wedding, duties were given out whenever the participants of the scheming could find time completely away from both Meredith and Hayes, which had not been an easy task in the weeks leading up to the big day. It seemed like Meredith was always there whenever Maggie turned a corner. Meredith and Hayes had both got the day off work, so Maggie paged and gathered the group into one room. “Alright everyone, you know why we’re all here - we have a wedding in 2 days. Final tasks. Jackson, Cristina’s flight lands tomorrow at 5pm. You’re picking her up from the airport and taking her to Bailey’s place. Bailey, Jackson and Cristina should be arriving at your place for 6:30/ 7:00pm, give or take. Link, Winston – you’re in charge of the groom. You guys have to have him dressed and ready to go to Richard’s for 4pm on Saturday. Find a way to keep him away from Meredith for the night before and day of the wedding. Richard – Jackson, Owen, and Teddy will be over bright and early Saturday morning to help set up all the decorations. Amelia, Jo, and I will be getting ourselves, the children, and the bride ready. Ceremony starts at 5:30pm. The goal is to have Meredith and Hayes walk together to the front, as I can’t see my sister wanting to walk down an aisle. Alright. Everyone know what they’re doing?” Maggie finished. Choruses of “Yep” and “Uh huh” along with nods of acknowledgement circled the room. “Great! Okay. Disperse.” Maggie finished, and everyone did just that.
Wedding day. Chaos ensuing. Jackson had successfully picked up Cristina from the airport and dropped her off at Bailey’s undetected. Link and Winston had also been successful in their recruits to get Hayes away for a bachelor’s night. They phrased it as ‘guy’s night’ though, knowing how their best friend felt about the term ‘bachelor’s party’. He’d been ardently against the idea that it was his last night as a single man. He wasn’t single, he was in a serious relationship with a woman he loves, and they’d made a commitment to each other when they began dating. The marriage was only an extension of that commitment. But for Hayes, the proposed idea of getting drunk with his two closest guy friends while watching things like soccer and crappy TV shows was too tempting an offer for him to turn down. Meredith also told him to go and spend the night with them, so he didn’t really have any other option.
“Meredith! We’re ready to go when you are!” Maggie yelled from the main floor, up to the upstairs floor. It was 3:30pm, and while Meredith also knew the wedding was going to be hosted at Richard’s, in fact she was the one that suggested that’s where it be held, but she was unaware of the extent to which the place had been decorated and just how many people were actually invited. Meredith placed her earrings and bracelet in the little jewellery box, and headed downstairs. Her makeup and hair had been done at the house, as did Amelia, Maggie and Jo, who brushed off the excessiveness as ‘just wanting to look nice in pictures’. Maggie could feel herself getting more and more giddy as she got closer to Richard and Catherine’s place. Bailey had arrived with Cristina an hour earlier and had gotten the both of them plus Teddy ready in the meantime. Liam had agreed to drive himself, Austin, Zola, Bailey, and Ellis over to the house since Maggie’s car was going to be packed between Meredith’s dress and shoes, and all 4 of the women.
Meredith and Hayes arrived at Richard’s at the same time. The vehicles pulled into the driveway almost simultaneously. Hayes got out of the car first, then Winston, and Link. Meredith quickly exited Maggie’s car once she parked, and went to catch up with Hayes, who was standing frozen in the doorway. She placed her hand on his back. “Hey, what’s go-“ She said before looking into the house and realizing exactly why he was standing so frozen. “Cristina.” Meredith’s jaw dropped at the sight of her best friend. Cristina beamed at her friends as they stood in the doorway of Richard’s house. Bailey watched from the stairway like a proud mama. “Are you going to give me a hug or what?” Cristina said, prompting Meredith to laugh, step inside, and give her a much overdue hug. When they finally pulled back from the hug, Meredith looked around at her friends who were all smiling and watching her and Cristina. “Wait, so how did you get here? And how did I not know?” Meredith asked as Cristina hugged Hayes. Maggie, Amelia and Jackson grinned sheepishly at Meredith. “I might have had Amelia and Jackson conspire to get her here.” Maggie finally admitted. Meredith hugged her sister. “Thank you.”
Everyone moved inside as Link and Amelia brought in Meredith’s dress and all the tuxes. “Let me guess, no ‘peppy maid of honour’ thing again?” Meredith chuckled at her friend. “No, absolutely not – your only job today is to-“ “Kick your guys’ ass down the aisle?” Cristina interrupted her, and Meredith choked back a laugh. “Yeah, pretty much.”
For the next hour and a half, the finishing touches were put on everyone’s hair and makeup, dresses were steamed, and Meredith quickly figured out that this wedding was not going to be as small as she’d hoped. However, she overlooked it, because Cristina was there, Hayes seemed genuinely excited, and she knew that only her friends would be showing up. She had her person back, even if it was just for a few days. The girls helped each other into their dresses, and Ellis and Zola fawned over their mom and aunts. A few more guests showed up as everyone finished getting ready, including Bokhee, Tom, Levi, Nico, Parker, and Helm, along with their friends from Station 19, Robert and Andy, Vic and Travis, Dean, Maya and Carina, Emmett, and Jack.
Finally, 5:30 came. The sun began to set and the lights that had been hung from poles in the yard illuminated the sky perfectly. Everyone was waiting excitedly in their chairs, conversing among themselves as they waited for the wedding to start. Cristina had persuaded Meredith to let Richard walk her down the aisle, so Hayes was waiting patiently at the front of the arch with Link, Winston, Liam, Austin, and Bailey. Inside the house, Cristina, Maggie and Amelia were giving Meredith the pre-marriage pep talk that Meredith had given all of them before their respective weddings to Owen (once for Cristina and once for Amelia), Link, and Winston. Finally, the music started, and the guests in attendance immediately stopped chatting and turned their heads towards the back doors. The doors opened and Ellis and Zola walked out, flinging white petals all over the ground. Then Jo walked out, Amelia, then Maggie, followed by Cristina. Richard looked over at Meredith. “You ready?” He asked as she slipped her arm through his. “Yeah, I am.” She said with a smile and walked out into the backyard and down the makeshift aisle.

“Friends and family alike, we are gathered today to celebrate. To celebrate the love shared between two people who found each other in the midst of unimaginable grief. Who know better than most of us that the tomorrows with the people we love are never promised, so we have to make the most of it. Meredith, Hayes, I have had the joy of watching your relationship develop and watch the both of your flourish in your happiness, separately and with each other. You guys are about to enter into a journey together, one that you both know the meaning behind very well. You know that marriage takes a lot of work, that there will be ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and that above all communication is the most important thing to make a marriage work. I don’t need to tell you this. The love shared between you guys is something admirable, and I for one, am so honoured that you asked me to marry the two of you today. When you guys first reported your relationship to me and HR, I remember thinking to myself, ‘Who would have thought?’ But now, as I look back on your friendship, I really should have seen this coming from a mile away. There’s something magnetic between two equals, who share such similar life experiences and never expect anything more from the other than their authentic selves. Plus, you guys spent a very odd amount of time in OR’s together. And as fate may have it, Cristina Yang, or whatever you guys want to believe, you found each other. And it has been beautiful to see. I have to stop myself before I ramble even more about how proud I am of the both of you. I know you both have written your own vows, so I invite you to exchange them now. Meredith?” Bailey opened the wedding, and there was already some audible sniffling from a couple of the bridesmaids.
“Hayes…” Meredith started, laughing with tears in her eyes as she read over her vows. He laughed with her and wiped the tear from her face. “I had many firsts before I met you. And though part of me wishes I could take them back and had them all with you, I know that each and every one of those firsts was what lead me to you. And in a way, you are my biggest firsts. My first long-term relationship. You’re the first man I said ‘I’m in love with you’ to. The first person who understood me fully, who matched my every turn and never had to navigate major differences with. And you’re the only person I imagined myself having a future with. You are imperfectly perfect. You are everything I never knew I needed. You complete me. You’re my other half. My equal, my partner in work and in life. A while ago, I’d told Alex that I didn’t want to fall in love again unless it felt like family. And that’s you. I love you, and I love your boys. I love our family. I love how you never push any boundaries with my kids, but still love them like your own. And as I stand here today, in front of a bunch of friends and family that neither of us thought would be coming, I promise to love you unconditionally. I promise to always communicate with you about everything. To never be anything less than myself around you. I promise to always talk with you about Derek and Abigail, who I know are watching from heaven and cheering for us. I promise to defend you and stick by you through thick and thin. I have been and always will be your biggest supporter on earth. I love you.” Hayes smiled at Meredith through tears and began to lean in to kiss her on instinct, before he felt Bailey’s hand push him back. “Not. Yet.” She said sternly, prompting laughter from the guests and wedding party.
“Grey, before I met you, I didn’t want to love again. There was no one I could even think about being with after having Abby ripped away from me so slowly and cruelly. That was until I met you. You understood exactly what I was going through. You never pushed or prodded, and always let me talk about Abby if I was comfortable with it. Of course, I always was, knowing you’d probably done the same thing, or at least something very similar. Every day since I met you, I’ve found something new about you that amazes me. You amaze me. And there is no one else on the face of this earth I could have imagined myself going through all those firsts with. You taught me to love again. My goal in our relationship is to always make you feel loved, seen, and wanted. You truly are my equal in this part of my life. And I love everything about you, about our family. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about how lucky I am to have met you, to know what it’s like to experience your loyalty and love. You know full well that I don’t take promises lightly. I promise to always stand by you, no matter what. I promise to know when to fall back and let you handle things, versus when to step up and step in to defend you. I promise to bring you coffee in the morning and check in on you when you’re working in the lab on your next award-winning medical breakthrough. I promise to always page you for surgeries that require general surgery, and I promise to watch the kids when you’ve had a long day so you can get some rest. I even promise to dance with you whenever you want to. Above all though, I promise to make us my priority. I love you.” Hayes finished. After the both of their vows, there wasn’t a dry eye in Richard’s backyard. Quite literally everyone was crying. Including both Meredith and Hayes.
-
“Link, the rings?” Bailey said, looking over at Link. He gave Scout the thumbs up, to which Scout toddled over to the front and handed Hayes and Meredith their rings. “Now, do you, Cormac Hayes, take Meredith Grey to be your wife?”
“I do.” He said, wearing a bright smile on his face, placing Meredith’s ring on her finger.
“And Meredith, do you take Cormac Hayes to be your husband?” Bailey said, looking at Meredith.
“I do.” She said, smiling back at Hayes with tears in her eyes as she placed the ring on his finger.
“By the power vested in me from the internet, and by the grace of God, I pronounce you two husband and wife. Hayes, you may kiss your bride.” Bailey said with a smile as she stepped back from the couple. “Finally,” Hayes said as he wrapped his arms around Meredith’s waist and pulled her in for their first kiss as a married couple. Their biggest first together. Everyone clapped and cheered for the newlyweds, and they pulled back, still holding onto each other, as they looked around at their friends and family, all smiles.
The whole reception was lively. People mingled and caught up with old friends. Meredith and Hayes made sure to go around before dinner started inside and say hi to everyone who’d shown up and thank them for coming. Meredith had to admit that she was glad she got to share this day with all her friends. Then during dinner came the speeches. Meredith and Hayes both gave short speeches that they came up with on the fly. Maggie and Amelia both made touching tributes, thanking Hayes for making their sister so happy again, and for loving her in the way she deserves to be loved. Richard, Jackson, and Link also all made speeches. The final speech came from none other than Meredith’s person, Cristina Yang. “Meredith, Hayes, I love you both. I’m so happy you two found each other. You’re welcome, by the way. I take full credit for this. Laughter erupted from around the house. Leave it to Cristina to steal the show in two sentences.
They ate dinner, mingled, laughed, and loved. The first dance was touching, as their song played over the speaker and they slow danced, whispering sweet words into each other’s ears, kissing and loving each other like no one was watching. After the first dance, the music picked up and everyone joined in the celebrations. This night was a perfect representation of what the rest of their lives looked like; filled with love, laughter, family, friendship, and lots of music and happiness. After having their happiness ripped away from them in horrifying ways, they’d finally found it again. And it was truly beautiful.

You can check tosikowrites tag for more! Warning: there’s a lot under the cut.
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
The most straightforward among main three of Wammy’s boys. His interpretation of own feelings is excellent and he makes sure everybody around knows about them. If he hates you, you’ll feel a burning hole in your back whether it is because of intense staring or literal bullet. If he loves you, you’ll be surrounded by abundance of affection.
When it comes to person he loves, Mello is very vocal. Words do matter, they oblige you and put responsibility on your shoulders. That’s why he loves to brag about his dearest to the closest friends, and even acquaintances know about this one special person. Another important thing is nickname, which Mello chooses based on the brightest features of character/appearance. Baby, honey, dearest are common too but he feels that  they deserve exceptional treatment and exceptional nickname.
He absolutely loves physical affection. Skin to skin contact gives him weird sensation right in the head as if he can physically feel neurons releasing dopamine. It also helps with keeping his anxiety under control.
By the way, sometimes inferiority complex gets the best of him, and in these moments he is extremely capricious. For the same reason Mello may act like his loved one deserves everything, while he can go with bare minimum.
He is great at reassurances. The second he realizes his loved one is insecure, upset, lost, the gears in his head start zealously turning. The words he uttered are always spoken in the right tone and able to touch the necessary strings of the soul. At the same time Mello always has doubts in the efforts made.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Friendship with Mello carries spirit of 80s-90s. It’s a wild ride he once invited you to and then you couldn’t get off. Stuff gets messy, stuff gets hot, but it doesn’t matter until you both have fun.
He will roast you so much and will never get offended if you roast him in response. Mello aims for a good laugh only. His favorite entertainment is to go shopping together just to critic each other’s outfits.
You better move that body when he drags you on the dance-floor. Blasting music and colorful lights make him feel like a fish in the water so Mello will try to teach you dance. Yes, from the easiest ones to Michael Jackson’s moonwalk.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
Cuddles are essential for relationship with Mello. He enjoys snuggle up to his loved one on calm evenings, when there’s nothing to disturb the peace. Warmness of loved one’s head on his chest and smell of their skin calm him down better than chamomile-mint tea. He loves to listen to the sound of another person’s heartbeat as well.
Mello has one pet peeve tho: frequent head pats and hair stroking lead to greasy hair and this is exactly what he hates. If they put hand on his beautiful blond locks, he will take them by the finger and place their palm on his lips. This is a small but very loud gesture.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
The thought of settling down     never popped up in his head. Mello is way too young, he wants to live his     life to the maximum without thinking about another dirty plate in the sink     or how long it takes to make boiled eggs. Based on this you can say he     doesn’t like to do any housework. His cooking skills are decent but he     prefers creative mess to boring order. Mello likes to help someone in     kitchen when he is in the good mood.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
Nervous type he is, Mello doesn’t want to end this relationship. But he has to. But he can’t. He is indecisive and hesitates on the way to them. Hell, if they are in good mood or overly excited, Mello won't say a word about break up. In his mind it has to be like pulling a tooth – painful but necessary, - but real life doesn’t work that way. When the moment finally comes he cannot keep his voice steady. Mello tries to end it as fast as possible and hold back a scream because yelling at his loved one is something he promised he’ll never do. Actually, I can see him doing something impulsive to blow off steam. Breaking random stuff, for example, or shooting bottles.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
No. Getting married is too much. He can’t see wedding bells ring no matter how hard he tries. Every day he becomes more confident in thought that strong sincere relationship do not need bureaucracy in the form of marriage. The only time you need a marriage certificate is during the divorce process. Mello isn’t 100% sure but pretty close to this percentage. If his loved one insists on marriage he will immerse in conflicting feelings. Then his next actions will depend on many factors but Mello definitely will try to explain his  position and convince them in its     validity.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Mello is on the rougher side when it comes to both physical and emotional affection. Childhood in the orphanage, involvement with the mafia, psychological issues, and responsibility placed on his shoulders taught it is necessity to be tough to survive in this world. When he lets his guard down nasty inner voice keeps reminding Mello about situations in which it could be a critical mistake. This leads us to the next point.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Here he comes, another  touched-starved male with trust issues. Mello needs time to get used to soft touch of other’s person hands. Sometimes he puts too much strength in his hugs and it may come across a little rough. Likes them anyway, takes initiative 90% of the time.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
It completely and entirely depends on his gut feeling. Something elusive tells him whether to trust a person or not, it’s not a rational decision. As soon as this strange sensation appears, he will immediately calmly utter three treasured words, and it’s not even so important for him to hear them in return. Mello just wants another person to know that they have become an integral part of his life.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
In addition to being easily jealous, Mello is scary as hell when someone is hitting on his loved one. If he witness such insolence, he will be extremely vocal and, well, unexpectedly rude. He is not afraid to get physical too.
If it’s his loved one who is acting flirtatious, Mello will be pissed off as well. His feelings are explosive mix of disappointment, anger, malcontent. It’s better to get off his way and let him cool a little before trying to explain anything or make excuses. In a fit of jealous rage he may say some terrible things which he’ll regret later.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
The most passionate kisser imaginable. He loves to kiss and he knows how to do it properly so why would you complain. He tends to forget about personal boundaries in process so make out sessions can get really… touchy. Anyway, loves to shower his loved one with kisses all over them, but lip smooches are his favorite. At the same time Mello doesn’t care where they kiss him because of solid fact he is being kissed.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
He is so awkward. Calm/gentle/kind children are ok, but if he has to deal with angry little shit who throws tantrum whenever possible, he will flip out. Being around his own children is more or less bearable but don’t expect much when it’s someone else's kids annoying poor man. Mello definitely will teach his favorite one all of the swear words as a joke.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
On a free day no matter who wakes up first you will spend another hour in the bed cuddling. Then life will pour cold water on you when Mello gets frustrated with making breakfast. This may grow into small quarrel but most of the time he pulls himself together and you two find a satisfying compromise. During breakfast on work week you rarely hear any plans for the day from him but he stays curious about your schedule just to see if he can catch you for a lunch or a short call. Nothing special, really.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Night is his favorite time of the day. Neon signs, coolness, slight buzz of a big city work as a charm on Mello, he feels free from people’s staring, empty chatter, and daily duties. If he could show the world as he sees it to his loved one, at least approximate image, dim reflections of pale moon in the high-rises’ glass, he would. So to do it he takes them on late night walks and rides, new places every time.
Cafes and restaurants are another of his weaknesses, not only pastry shops, but also small diners with food that would seem boring to many. Take-outs are frequent too because chilling under the lilac sky and stargazing with Mello are 10 out of 10.
Don't let yourself be fooled, he likes to stay inside as much. Thanks to Matt, you’ll spend most of the time playing video-games and drinking pop until one of you starts yawning.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
Mello is straightforward within adequate limits. You wouldn’t expect person to blur out “I hunt a Kira with my genius rival that works with FBI and Japanese Police” at any point of your movie night anyway, right? He does not pretend and does not resort to excessive secrecy but prefers to reveal facts about himself one by one.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
Quickly gets angry, quickly cools down. Sadly, he his emotions are too strong and he does not know how to handle them and it often ends in heated argument. Even during a quarrel he feels his actions are hurting you but it’s not something he can stop at the click of a finger. After everything has settled down he is extremely remorseful and tried to make amends but Mello never ever promises to change. Why you make ask? In that case actions speak louder than words.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
Remembers the stupidest things. He can’t remember any important dates like the day you started dating but will remind you about the most embarrassing thing you did in high school. Hell, he forgets your number sometimes but can describe the exact clothes you wore on that rainy day when car splashed you.
Unknown forces help Mello in choosing a birthday present. He has no clue what you wanted and if you wanted anything at all. Surprisingly, it always hits the mark.
Tried to write down “important” stuff about you once. Failed miserably. Decided to never do it again.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
The first time when they confessed their love to him since Mello rewound this moment in his head like a hundred times. He remembers what color sky was and what song was playing on the background and those little details made this moment more beautiful than the masterpieces of the Louvre. Joy overwhelmed him and he couldn’t get this picture off his head for a few days too.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
Not that paranoid protective and obviously doesn’t need to be protected However, he will be fluttered if person showed that they care. He will freak put if they don’t answer his calls or messages for hours and in the case of real danger he will take that gun and shoot someone as a warning.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
He puts more effort in the beginning of relationship and its amount slowly declines with time. The closer he gets, the less he needs to try to cover up his sharp edges and imperfections or try to distract person with some kind of mask, mannerism, maneuver. Playing nice in early stages of dating gives him chance to throw the bait, to show he is able to be that datable material. A completely different question is whether a person wants to stay with him in spite of his inner demons.
Mello likes to surprise them with something special on anniversaries. Expect romantic late night motorcycle ride, car dates with take-out, and, of course, gifts. He likes to make/buy a presents person will like, something they wanted for a long time but couldn’t afford.
Acts extra-extra after anger tantrums. He knows he fucked up, okay, he just can’t control himself. Yes, it’s a lot easier to cover up consequences with huge bouquet and box of chocolates than to correct behavior learned over the years.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
If you ever had to deal with person stubborn as a donkey, you’ve seen demo-version of Mello’s behavior. Making compromises is not his strategy, so get ready for “this is the only right option”, “I said what I said”, “Yeah, go ahead, I’ll do it my way”. He immediately begins to sulk and spill his sassiness all over the place if things don’t go his way.
Doubtful impulsive decisions are most likely the cause of constant arguing and problem mentioned above. At first he does something (to say the least) stupid with impressive confidence. Then, after hours or days, his brains finally comes up with reasonable arguments but now it’s too late to back out.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
It’s obvious Mello likes to take care of himself. His sense of style is indisputable, he sticks to it and never fails to embellish the picture with shiny jewelry or other accessories. There may be dirt on his leather boots and soot on fur hood but they only complete his conceived image.
Probably has one company from which he buys all the hair care products. Feeling of easy combing through smooth silky hair before bed is another of his a little happiness.
How does he have such perfect face despite eating chocolate everyday? Mello is fond of beauty creams, masks, serums, and he doesn’t allow a single pimple ruin his day. Also, he uses different healing creams to soften the scars.
He would love to mess around with loved one trying new beauty products. There’s nothing better than taking care of each other.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
Yes, yes, yes. It doesn’t matter why they are not in his life anymore, he feels devastated. All attempts to distract himself fail as he goes back to thinking about them every five-ten minutes, and not only thinking but overthinking. Sometimes his thoughts throw him back to the past, first meeting, first kiss, and it gnaws Mello even more.
If they left for some reason, he will try to get them back. A chance meeting in the evening is completely planned, he also rehearsed his lines in the head more than a thousand times just to stay calm and avoid going off on tangent.
If they died, he will attend their grave for a few months. It doesn’t help much. He becomes incredulous and gloomy, scaring everyone around with frequent mood swings and defiant behavior. I can see him growing more actively aggressive and acting like he doesn’t have anything to lose too.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
Because of his chocolate addiction, Mello has to visit dentist’s office quite frequently. The problem is he hates dentists and everything about them. The sound of a dental drill makes his skin crawl.
Mello can pull off any style, rock any outfit. He can dress up in trash bag and be fabulous as always. You can splash that man with the dirtiest water and he will still shine bright like a diamond. Unholy beauty.
He was that kid that got the highest score on Facebook picky sheet. He hates broccoli, never eats mushrooms, avoids pickles. Name any controversial food – he doesn’t eat it.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
Mello can deal with pushy people but manipulators drive him nuts. As soon as he notice the smallest attempt to manipulate him, he will lash out. So you have to be the master manipulator to twist him around your finger or the batshit crazy person to pull an obvious manipulation on him.
Absence of communication. He won’t play mind games and try to guess your thoughts, so you better speak out your mind.
Oh, Mello doesn’t want a person who nods to everything he says. Sharing personal opinions plays a big role in relationships and he won’t agree to lose such way to connect.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)
Mello sticks to adequate sleeping schedule. His lifestyle forces him to break it from time to time but he quickly makes up for sleepless nights. He doesn’t even get moody or irritated. On the contrary, his reactions slow down, and the only thing he is interested in is comfortable bed.
Speaking of comfort, Mello likes to wrap himself in fluffy blankets. The more pillows there are around him, the better his mood will be in the morning.
Dark chocolate rich in magnesium can help you sleep better so Mello prefers switch from milk chocolate to dark in the evening. It is not uncommon to find a wrapper foil on the nightstand in his bedroom.

Holic (how it would’ve continued)
Holic l masterlist
Tumblr media
the first part is backstory, and then the next part is breif summaries of how the chapters would’ve gone. Hope y’all enjoy it <3
not edited
one:
The first thing we need to understand is the character. For me, she was broken. The cliche of rich parents who don’t have time for their kid was one of the main shaping tools for her. I can’t remember if its obvious or not, but y/n was kidnapped when she was younger, and none of her own family members had noticed. Instead, it was her maid, who she was close to, but her parents fired her after some time. So, most of her childhood she felt unloved.
Also, she was kidnapped when she was in her teens. The timeline is a bit fucked, cause I didn’t plan well so, god bless lol. But she gets kidnapped, and it was a hard and traumatic experience for her. She wasn’t even given the opportunity to express that experience because it was just swept under the rug. A few days after she had returned, her parents continued to celebrate her sister’s birthday. Which isn’t a bad thing, but she spends it in her room, crying, and no one comes to check up on her.
A few months later Jaebum and her meet at the ball, and she tells him that she doesn’t like him. She was just protecting herself.
The main characteristic about her is that she’s always trying to protect someone or something. She married Jaebum to protect the honour of their families, then she tells Jaebum not to do anything that will ruin their image in front of the public, and to respect her. And then, when she finds her hoe sister, she tries to protect her after knowing it was their mother forcing her to go through with the wedding when she was in love and pregnant with someone else’s baby.
But mostly, she was protective of herself. She didn’t want to seem weak or show any vulnerability. She keeps on saying it's so people can’t use it against her, but its actually just so she doesn’t get hurt. She doesn’t want to get her expectations up. She doesn’t want to imagine, she doesn’t want to wonder or trust another human with her emotions and feelings because it never worked for her since she was a kid.
Tumblr media
so the future story would’ve gone:
y/n would’ve gotten pretty for the date with Jaebum, but her secretary brings photos of Jaebum and his secretary doing the dirty at the office. The outfit that Jaebum is wearing is the coat that she split milk on by mistake that one night. It was new, and then it was ruined so that was the only time he wore it after they were married, after she had asked him not to do anything stupid, after he had been nice to her, and before he did all this, and claimed to be in love with her, he was fucking his secretary.
y/n thought she needed some time to collect herself, so she cancelled the date, and moved out. After like a week Jaebum and her go to a party. And this chapter would’ve been from Jaebum’s point of view. y/n would’ve been ignoring him and pretending like he didn’t exist. But she was still being civil and acting to be in love when someone came by, especially this old couple who they needed to finance their new business plan. So while y/n is trying to control her anger, and not rip Jaebum’s head off. Jaebum is completely oblivious to this and in his mind, he just thinks of how much he loves her. He looks at her and all he sees is beauty and an angel. He looks at her as she speaks to people, as she laughs, as she stands, the slope of her neck, her eyes and everything about her makes him feel like that kid back at the balcony of her parents anniversary. He was in love with her since then. It was her red heels that broke his heart and made him cold to everyone. And it was her that was laughing at him for having a red heel fetish. It wasn’t the fetish, it was the memory of her breaking his heart in two, and the necklace he had gotten for her the same fate that night. As he is looking at her, the old man says that love like her comes only once and to hold on to her. Jaebum already knew that. He knew it from the moment that she had walked away, he knew it when they walked down the alter. He knew it as she came and stood in front of him, her eyes dazed with intoxication from too many champagnes, her lips painted pink. He knew it, as he was still stuck where they had left off. He was in love with her.
y/n wakes up at her house but finds that she is not alone. Jaebum is there waiting for you in the kitchen with oatmeals (your fav breakfast). You turn away from the dish and tell him to leave. He asks you what’s up, and you tell him to leave. Jaebum thinks you’re in a mood, and gives you a hug, chuckling and saying ‘okay, ill leave, you duckling. but have breakfast first.’ you push him away. You didn’t want to eat anything, you felt like vomiting. How could he say he loved you when he had been sticking his dick inside other girls. The thing that made it worse is that you didn’t know if this was still going on. If after every night that he held you close, he ran off in the morning into the arms of another and stuck his dick inside of them. You felt sick, hurt, but most of all stupid. Stupid for starting to fall into his trap, for letting go, for wanting to believe that what Jaebum and you had was real. that for one minute he had truly loved you. it was all just a mess now and you didn’t know what was right and wrong. You were hurt and so so so fucking angry, and the last thing you needed was Jaebum pretending to do whatever that he was doing. Jaebum reached out for you again but you pushed him. “Don't fucking come near me you asshole!” you sneered at him, your eyes raging. Jaebum didn’t understand what was going on, he looked sad. He was like baby what's wrong. You tried to walk away, but he pulled you back and asked you to tell him. So you were like fucking fine. You grabbed the envelope from the counter and dumped the photos onto the counter. Jaebum sees the photo and goes pale. You try not to cry and tell him “This was after our marriage. After that night at the party, this is what you were doing after sending me home. This was the night after our wedding Jaebum. Now, I know we don’t have any relationship like a husband and wife, but i just asked for one thing respect. I told you not to do anything stupid that could ruin this. Before you ask, I wasn’t spying on you. Some third-grade gossip journalist dropped this by my office. Next time you do something like this be careful. It isn’t just your life anymore.” Jaebum didn’t really have an explanation, because he did cheat on you, but that was the last time.  You leave the room and tell him to get out of your house.
you knew what you were doing was wrong but you couldn’t help it. You wanted to hurt him, but more than that, you wanted to erase Jaebum. So. you hit up your old flame. Now, it was common knowledge that eventually (if your sister hadn’t run away) next in line would’ve been you and Jackson. You had known him since you were a kid, and he was like a friend more than anything else. But he was also very very attractive. And y’all sitting there having dinner at a restaurant, and then guess who walks in. That’s right Jaebum. And he is jealous. At first, you are too, seeing that pretty girl with him, but soon it doesn’t bother you cause he’s not even looking at her. All his attention is on you and Jackson. After a bit, you excuse yourself to the bathroom, and as you get out a man pulls you into the corner. You get scared and think you’ll keep on getting dragged away into a van, and then locked up in another dark room. But its just Jaebum, and you relax for a moment and hug him. You wanna cry, but you just hold him. Jaebum holds you tight and whispers “I miss you so much Y/n, please come back.” You snap back and push him away, and tell him to fuck off. He tells you that he’s sorry and that that night was the only time this happened, and it never happened after it and it will never happen again. He loves you, he told you. And you told him to go eat shit and started to walk away. He held your wrist and pulled you close to him. Your chest pressed against each other, as Jaebum pushed you against the wall and leaned forward. “You know, playing with boys like that won’t help. You can’t rid of me and what we have. You can’t go around fucking boys y/n” “I could say the same to you, but you’ve already been fucking other hoes, so I won't lose my breath over it. Let me go, and stay out of my life.” You and Jackson walk out, you sit in his car and tell him to drop you home.
You get kidnapped. Jaebum saves you, because of special powers (special police) lol. You both cry and confess your love. You realise that while being scared of having love let you down or having your heart broken, or having it taken away; it's better to just love. so you forget and forgive and decide to live each day happy instead of safely.
After months of therapy, and talking about your troubles you’re doing much better. You and Jaebum are going stronger than ever. And you both have such a cute boy. He’s like a taking no shit, don’t read me bullshit fairytales, but scared of clowns adorable little kid. Aww he’s so cute. And he brushes his hair to the side and tucks his shirt in, such a fucking cute boss nerd. And you both love this kid a lot, and you love each other a lot too. Even though it wasn’t the most romantic beginning to a love story, but as it was going right now it didn’t matter. It didn’t matter because you loved him with all your heart hiding nothing and showing everything, and Jaebum doing the same.
In the end, happy ending. I’m sorry I couldn’t finish this story. Maybe if i had planned it better it’d be easier lol. Sorry for plot holes or if i missed something. I had fun playing with story, and seeing all of y’all react to it.
Thank you for all you love and support.

“Where was I? Oh yes, so some weeks later, Bianca comes to the bar telling me that she needs to talk.”
Weeks have passed since Jackson had met Bianca. She had showed up at the bar a few times after their encounter, but she mostly just came since Maribelle and Beau had hit it off and Tanya and Cash had become a thing. Bianca and Jackson really didn’t talk when they all hung out, she spent her time flirting with whoever was close to her at the bar whereas Jackson was spending time with the others.
It is the last Friday night before Jackson is getting ready to head to LA and then back to Cordonia. Bianca hasn’t been to the bar in the last couple of weeks, but Jackson brushes it off, however when he sees her walk in that night, he knows something is off.
Usually she is all dolled up like she’s going somewhere other than a little southern hole in the wall. This time she’s in leggings and a baggy Texas sweatshirt, her hair up in a bun that has strands of hair falling out everywhere.
“Ja--. Jackson?” She barely whispers, “Can we talk?”
Beau and Cash just shrug as Jackson looks to them for help and he pulls her over to an empty booth in a quiet corner.
“Did something happen? Someone hurt you?” He starts asking, for the life of him, he wasn’t sure why he cared so much. She made it obvious to him since the beginning that he was just a hookup, but he still hated seeing any woman upset.
She looks up at him, not sure how this was going to go. She knows she’s been a bitch towards him since they met, but this was about more than just them.
“Hey, all the drama aside, I’m here for you,” he says, resting his hand on hers.
“I’m pregnant, Jackson.”
He can feel the color leave his face, “Oh.”
“It’s yours,” she says.
His mind starts racing, “Excuse me if I find that hard to believe.”
Her face drops, “Excuse me?”
He shrugs, “We slept together the first night we met. You said it was just a rebound, I don’t how many more you’ve had.”
She stands up, her voice raises, “Are you serious?”
“I want to be there for you, for this baby, but I need to know for sure. I’m not being that unreasonable here.”
Slowly she sits down, realizing that what he’s said is true. If roles were reversed, she’d be asking the same thing. Was she really that big of a bitch when they first met? Did she really come off to be that type of girl? He wasn’t wrong, he had been just a rebound and there had been others, but the others were protected. This wasn’t a situation she had planned to be in either.
“I’m not asking for a relationship.” She states flatly.
“If this baby is mine, I’m not just going to support it or you from a distance. I want to do this the right way. The proper way.”
“We don’t even know each other.” She honestly thought that he would just offer to pay for the situation to be taken care of.
“Guess we should start over.”
“Or we can just take care of it now.”
His eyes widen and she isn’t sure what he’s going to say or do, “That is not an option that I’d consider. If anything, I’d ask for you just to allow me to take the baby. No strings attached, but I know that ultimately it’s your decision.”
She cocks her head to the side, “You’d really just take the baby and not ask me for anything?”
“If that’s how you want to do this. I just ask that you give me a chance to show you that I’m serious about taking care of this child.”
“Guess that means we should start over, huh?”
“I mean we can only start over so much,” he chuckles.
*                      *
“Wait, wait, wait! You’re telling me that my husband was a rebound hookup in a bar bathroom?”
Jackson laughs, realizing how unromantic it sounded, “Yeah, he was.”
“How did your story go from that to love at first sight?”
Once again, he starts laughing, “Over the next few months, we spend a lot of time together. I went to all her appointments, took her to dinner, I even skipped out on my trip to LA and extended my stay in Texas.”
“So, you eventually won her over?”
“Not exactly.” He shrugs, “It wasn’t until Drake was maybe three that she softened up.”
“THREE!?” Riley practically shouts before composing herself.
“Sadly. The wedding was beautiful, I gave her everything that she wanted. Yet issues started again when I decided to move back to Cordonia. I got a call from the king to be in his guard, I couldn’t pass it up. Being in the King’s Guard was something all men in my family had done for as far back as we can trace it.
“Eventually she adjusted to our new life, her new life and she always said that one night she looked over at me and Drake and realized she loved me as much as I loved her.”
“My mind is blown right now.”
“But you can understand why that’s not the story Drake and Savannah were told growing up.”
“Yes, I can. So now back to the forbidden love part,” Riley leans forwards, completely intrigued by Jackson’s story.
Jackson is walking around the palace hallways. He’s off the clock, but he does one final sweep before leaving the castle grounds. He’s getting ready to head back to the cabin when he hears a faint crying noise coming from the study down the hall. He quickly dashes towards the study, walking into the room.
“Your majesty, is everything okay?”
She snaps her head up, quickly wiping her face, “Oh yes, I’m fine. Thank you.”
Jackson walks towards her, kneeling beside her, “If I may speak freely, you don’t seem okay, Queen Eleanor.”
She smiles slightly, “Even so, I shouldn’t keep you from your duties.”
He smiles, “Technically, I’m off the clock so no worries.”
“Shouldn’t you get back to your family?”
He looks at his watch, “Everyone’s already asleep. I usually just sit by the lake at this time and breathe.”
The two exchange pleasantries, small talk, both really dancing around anything heavy, not sure if they are willing to overstep their places.
“I miscarried today. Constantine shrugged it off, saying he already had an heir and spare. Then he left to go to Fydelia.” Eleanor’s voice cracks, looking up at Jackson with tear filled eyes.
“I am so sorry, Queen Eleanor.” He racks his brain for what to say.
“Once I found out, I was so excited. Liam is the light of my life, however I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping for a little princess this time around.” A fresh tear falls down her cheek, Jackson hands her his handkerchief, “Thank you.”
“I just wish I knew something better to say.”
“Just listening is the best thing, honestly. No one else has listened when I tried to talk about it.”
“It is my duty to serve the Crown and that includes listening to the Queen discuss whatever she pleases.”
Eleanor smiles, she knew who Jackson was due to his closeness with her husband, being a leading officer, Jackson was always attending private meetings, arranging travel and simply being the third person in the King and Queen’s marriage.
Weeks have passed and every Friday night, the pair have made it a point to sneak away and talk freely to one another. They get to talk about the things that their loved ones wouldn’t understand, some of those things being inside jokes about other members of the court. They have stricken up an unlikely friendship.
One Friday night, Jackson is getting ready to head to study on the other end of the palace. The one that no one uses. That’s on the other end from the palace’s Royal Wing. The study where Jackson and Eleanor meet up.
A few of the younger guards are walking towards Jackson, heading the opposite direction of where they should be doing their evening rounds.
“Sir,” one nods towards Jackson before being stopped.
“I do believe you three are on Royal Wing rounds tonight.”
“The King sent us home early.”
“Is that so?” Jackson’s brows knit together.
“Yes sir.”
Turning on his heel, Jackson walks back towards the Royal Wing, determined to get to the bottom of this. While it wasn’t uncommon for Constantine to dismiss guard members early, he usually discussed it with Jackson.
He didn’t have to get too close to the Royal Wing to figure out why the guards were dismissed. The royal suite’s door was open, causing the sounds from the King and Queen’s intimate encounter to fill the hallway.
“Oh. God. Fuck Ellie.” Constantine’s groans echo through the hall, lacing together with Eleanor’s, “Ah! Ah! Ooooh! Oh! G…g...gaaa…god! Yes!”
Jackson begins walking back towards the main area of the palace when the night head guard, Timothy, who relieves him, stops him.
“Everything okay?”
“Yes. Why?” His tone is heated, causing Timothy to grow concerned.
“You look extremely pissed off and your fists are clenched.”
He quickly unclenches his fists and shake his head, “Just the younger guards, always slacking off is all.”
“I heard about the King and Queen’s big night,” Timothy chuckles, “You know, she’s always been pretty quiet, makes you wonder what she sounds like in bed, eh?”
The anger grows in Jackson again, this time he doesn’t try to hide it, “Watch how you speak about Queen Eleanor or you will be charged with treason.”
The next day, Timothy and Jackson are in the king’s office for a monthly guard meeting. He comes in smiling; the two guards immediately stand up and bow slightly.
“You seem to be in high spirits, your majesty.” Timothy says.
“Good news on trade deals, I hope.” Jackson tries to change the direction of the conversation.
“Trade deals, you’re funny Jackson. A smile like that comes from a lady companion,” Timothy jokes.
“This smile comes from watching the queen come undone as I plow into her. It’s always the quiet ones who scream the loudest,” the king winks, causing Jackson to storm out in disgust, hating the way the king speaks of the queen.
*                      *
“You developed feelings for Queen Eleanor!?! I wasn’t expecting that either!” Riley exclaims.
He chuckles, “Not just feelings, I fell in love with her.”
Riley’s jaw drops as Jackson continues the story.

Grey's Anatomy Season 16x17 review.
What a messed up episode it was. So starting from the most messed up and going down.
______________________________________________________________________________
Tom Koracick He gets a section tomhimself today because honestly, his life is starting to get really complicate as was expected seeing that he's at Grey Sloan. Him and Teddy, somehow or the other I feel he's going to have the worst part of this stick. Teddy has Been in love with Owen since she even arrived at the hospital in season 6 (or 5 can't remember too clearly), but after loving someone for so long, chances are she isn't going to leave him now. She was hurt and scared because Owen could possibly have another child and he drops her like a hot potato for anyone so, with all her feelings she went to Tom and he of course slept with her because, he loves her a surprising amount. I wish that he could find the strength to tell her no, because he's going to wind up hurt and with the way everyone treats him. He's going to really be in an emotional hole after it all. As for him and Mr Billionaire. I always used to imagine scenarios like the one he proposed to Tom, but probably in a spy movie I didn't actually expect Tom to do it. He's going to end up using the money for his lawyer bills because he's not even going to have a chance if he's found out. His licenses will be gone and so will his life. He'll end up in jail along with the  billionaire. Who is clearly one of the dumbest geniuses I've ever seen. All of that because he's made a mistake and could be arrested. If his plan is found out he'll be as ruined as Tom. I don't like where that case is going. I like Tom but I don't think he should risk anything for that man who clearly thinks he's the s**t and I can definitely see Tom's emotional Grey's spiral coming. I wish him the best of luck.
______________________________________________________________________________
Teddy I think we should check her for a tumor or a mental illness as well because I don't know what happened to her. I would have never expected Teddy to be like this. She was one of the most respectable women on Grey's. I know that she was emotional but she has been pinning for Owen for Years and years and she didn't even think to talk to him? Come on Teddy and she's using Tom, Maggie's speech was spot on she's sleeping with Tom who is madly in love with her when she knows she loves Owen, like leave Tom out of it sleep with someone else. And her reaction when she told Owen that Amelia's baby could be his and she asks him where does that leave them. He apparently took 5 seconds to long and she walked away, come on Teddy..... you just told the man that he could possibly be the father of a 3rd baby and with another woman all under the under the age of 3 and you're upset he took 5 seconds before answering, now I'm no Owen fan but Jeeze give the guy some time to process before making assumptions and what she said about Amelia, thank God for Maggie because her reasoning for being angry at Amelia was crap, especially because she did the exact same thing with Owen so the real loser here is Owen and Tom. She needs to pull it together soon because I'm sure this isn't over even though Owen isn't the Father.
______________________________________________________________________________
Owen Karma's a bitch I guess I almost feel sorry for him, this is the best he's been in any relationship. He's in yet another love triangle with the same woman but this time he's not the one being chased. I also want to talk about his old school way of life. Why the he'll should Teddy have to plan the wedding herself, it's like Christina not wanting to have kids all over again. She's a surgeon and a mom, both of those things are full time job. You still plan your wedding with the wedding planner except they do all of the running around for you.if he wants a planned wedding so much he should do it himself and Teddy needs to learn to say no she's going to stress herself planning a wedding the same way she did making Halloween costumes.
______________________________________________________________________________
Richard Yet another painful one, not only is he quitting surgery he's also pushing the people who care about him further and further away. He was so angry I almost thought that he would have had to be committed. I am praying that Webber is not leaving as well even if he's not doing surgery he should teach or something Bailey was right the hospital needs him and the show sure as he'll does as well. He wants to sell his paths pen, do you Webber but ,make sure you come back. Maybe he'll make enough money that Catherine doesn't feel like she can buy him anymore. Where the he'll Is Catherine anyway? She's doing everything behind the scenes and as usual Bailey has to take the fall.
______________________________________________________________________________
Link/Amelia Yay, I think we can safely take Amelia out of the Owen, Teddy, Koracick thing because her and Link are back together and even better Link is the father. While I still don't agree with how the whole thing was handled I'm just glad that they're together again and the whole Amelia, Owen thing isn't going to start again. No more children deserve to be involved in that mess. Not to mention now we get to see more daddy Link. I know that they're going to definitely have more struggles along the road I mean after all this is Grey's but I at least hope that no more of those problems will include Owen Hunt.
______________________________________________________________________________
Jo Didn't know which last name to call her anymore. She's in a bad mood understandably but not in her need to get committed mood, which I'm glad for. The actress in real life is pregnant and I'm just wondering how that's going to be played off. It can't be written in that wouldn't make any sense but I was wondering if they're going to make Jo take some time off. She would definitely deserve it. I'm glad that she's not spiralling too much at least not yet. She's in a funk but like she said she'll pick herself up because she knows she deserves love.
______________________________________________________________________________
Deluca Is talking to a shrink but doesn't really think he needs it and coming from experience that's never a good thing. I hope he realizes it soon before it ruins him and based on some spoilers I read its not seeming too likely.
______________________________________________________________________________
Meredith Isn't in the mood to talk about her feelings, she was hit on by a billionaire and rightfully angry at the world because the woman who had to ration her insulin because she couldn't afford was heartbreaking. I live in a country where most health care and medication is free or at a reasonable price unless you choose otherwise so I couldn't imagine how hard it is to be unable to get the health care you need so that was hard to watch. Meredith was also right to be pissed off that some billionaire just decided that he doesn't want to accept responsibility and cleared a whole hospital floor to do it. (Even if Catherine was the one to do it). She misses Alex and had yet another conversation with Bailey (this is the most I've seen them talk this whole series.) And they basically express how everyone is leaving or dying and it's lonely without them and nothing else have ever been more accurate. The amount of life and family togetherness that was in the beginning of the series definitely isn't there anymore.
______________________________________________________________________________
Bailey Was just there being concerned about Webber, I felt for her when Webber started freaking out and throwing stuff you could seen her internal struggle between staying with him or doing her job. I hope they aren't going to make her lose her work husband and basically the only person at Grey Sloan who would stand up for her. And she needs to stand up to Catherine that woman has been throwing her under the bus for too long.
______________________________________________________________________________
Jackson Broke up with his girlfriend Vic.............. I have no idea if to feel bad or happy. I don't really watch Station 19 unless if it has Bailey or is necessary to watch in order to understand what's going on in Grey's as well as the first 6 episodes of season one that I watched so I have no idea what was going on with them. I kind of picked up that she got kicked out of her home and moved into Jackson's place without telling him. But what's don't get is the reactions he was upset that she moved in and I understood because who moves into someone's place without asking but now she moves out and he's upset and for stupid reasons. Dean her new roommate/boatmate once hit on Maggie when they were together and he didn't know. She's going to help Dean raise a baby. The man's a new single father to a newborn I don't think he has time to steal someone's gf. But thank God I no longer have to hear the stupid argument again because they broke up well he broke up with her. Props to her to waiting around all day so he could do it though. Jackson is one of the characters who started off as one of my favorites but has now made his way to the bottom of the list.
______________________________________________________________________________
Maggie The usual cheerleader, when are they going to finally give her a plot that isn't cheering someone on, being annoying or a plot that lasts 5 seconds. It's almost like she isn't even there. Give the girl a good plot for God's sake, she shouldn't just be a cheerleader. That being said, she was spitting facts today with Teddy though and she's probably going to spill Teddy's secret because shes bad at keeping secrets thats a potential hot mess in the making.
______________________________________________________________________________
End notes and questions
What the Hell is Tom doing??? It's dumb and I hope someone talks some sense into him soon.
What's going to happen to Richard? Is he leaving the show as well? I hope not he's one of the only good things left.
Is Deluca going to be ok? He's got to admit he needs help soon.
And last but not least, What will happen to the hot mess that is Owen and Teddy?

Weddings in Jackson Hole and Scouting the Top Insider Tips
Tumblr media
First-look-at-the-bride portraits, late night donuts and sparkler exits could happen anywhere. But wildlife cameos, Teton vistas and bluegrass in the wind make weddings in Jackson Hole unique. Here, our TSG Jackson Hole wedding specialists and members share some insider tips to help those that might be planning a wedding in Jackson Hole. In addition, we included a few ideas for your big day.
“People want to utilize the mountains as a backdrop for family portraits,” says wedding photographer Ashley Merritt “I love to capture candid shots within the portrait when the last little window of light gives you that beautiful blue glow.”
Ashley Merritt, Carrie Patterson and Sarah Averill, Scout Guide photographers, have shot weddings at ranches, teepees and on mountaintops throughout the valley. They have set a pack of horses wild, and seen a dog walk the bride down the aisle.
One thing they always remind wedding planners is to be prepared for mountain weather. Whether that means bringing a basket of shawls for the guests to bring to the dance floor or embroidering jean jackets for the bridesmaids, an outer layer is advised. “Flexibility is the key out here,” Merritt says.

Wildflowers may also be part of the backdrop. They are always well complemented by creations by Lily & Co., a local florist that has made dog collars, filled fireplaces with blooms and designed walls of flowers (not to be confused with wallflowers) behind bandstands.
Emily Lacoste, Creative and Owner of Lily & Co., suggests letting nature taking center stage. She covers tent poles, barn beams, and farm tables with all manners of greenery, giving mother nature a much-deserved nod, and she likes to keep things bright, bold and simple.

Honored guests love receiving Teton inspired jewelry. It is a great way for guests to take a piece of Jackson Hole home with them. In addition to custom wedding bands in platinum and white, yellow, rose gold, JC Jewelers studio has done cowboys and mountainscapes on cufflinks, money clips, keychains and earrings for attendant gifts. Other unique touches such as men’s silk bowtie’s adorned with antlers, the Wyoming cowboy or the buffalo are also groomsmen favorites  can be found at Western Range Clothing.
Pendleton throws and other native patterns can bring a western flair to the dining room whether it is tented or in plein air. Jill King, the editor and publisher of The Scout Guide is in the know when it comes to party tips with her business Styling the New West. Three standard rules of thumb Jill uses are to add texture and interest by adding fruit, nuts and vines with flowers in season, keep table decor under 12 inches high so guests can see and talk to each other adding in various sizes and heights of candles under 10 inches.
If you are looking for an inspiring indoor space for the reception, there is no better place to celebrate than the National Museum of Wildlife Art. If the weather turns, there is always a sweeping view out their gigantic windows.
Bass player Patrick “Poot” McFarlin of PTO Bluegrass can spice up a cocktail reception or get guests to sing along to Wagon Wheel. They are a local wedding favorite !

Airstream cocktail bars are also for rent. But it would be a big mistake to do cocktails without lacing the bar with appetizers. Genevieve Catering has a food cart for late night comfort food like fried chicken and biscuit sandwiches with Sriracha honey. Sample menus are available on their website.

Gauche Chapter 2
Tumblr media
What were you doing here? Went home with a stranger from a bar. Trying to stop your wedding. What the hell was the guy’s name again. What was it? “I am visiting my friend Elijah.” You lied
Jackson gave you a look that told you he knew the story was far from the truth. “That’s funny.”
“Why is that?” You asked.
“His buddy Marcel was the main reason the werewolves were forced to live in the Bayou.”
There was just a string of curses in your mind. You were out of your element and damn he looked so attractive when he was mad. You were beyond out of luck. Meeting Elijah last night was definitely bad luck. You were hoping your panic had not flashed across your face. You needed to be on his good side to stop the wedding. What could you do to roll that back?
“Y/N was not aware of my association with Marcel. I am sure if she had known, she would have asked me to take up your case. Or at least she would have been upset with me.” Elijah said, saving you as he descended stairs.
“So when did this friendship start?” Jackson asked.
Damn he was seeing through you as he always had. “Shortly after I moved.” You said.
“So a vampire and a werewolf who do not live in the same city became friends?”
Another series of curse words crossed your mind. Why did you have to open your mouth? The story had so many holes, swiss cheese was jealous. “Yes. I doubt that you understand, but not everyone reacts as negatively to my presence as you do.” Elijah challenged.
“I can take a wild guess that my ex should have. Y/N used to have good taste, but I guess she left that in New Orleans with me.” Jackson said, glaring at you.
At this point you had wanted to come clean but he had just taken a jab at your choice to leave him. It was still a sore spot for the two of you. You knew that leaving was the only way he would understand there was a world outside of New Orleans. “I guess I took your manners with me.”
“Well, have you at least called Mary to let her know you are here.” Jackson said, hoping to cause a feeling of guilt.
“She knew before I got on the plane. Would you like to call her or would you prefer that I do? I was her favorite daughter.” You glared at him.
Jackson turned from you. It was one of the few times in your life Jackson had ever turned his back on you. The last time was when you were leaving him. “Hayley said she left something here before she went to the bayou, and that you or Klaus would have it.”
“She called.” Elijah handed Jackson a charging cable, and walked past him.
Looking at the cable, the need for it was a lie. If something like that was a necessity, she could have gotten it at any store. You would bet anything that Hayley had wanted an excuse to come here, and you knew she was in love with Elijah. You dismissed that trail as Elijah sat next to you. “You know you could stay here instead of the hotel.”
Well, if Jackson was going to turn from you, you could ignore him. “I would be putting you out.”
You could sense the fact Jackson was fuming. “You would never put me out. I would be troubling you by asking you to stay in the same home as Klaus.” Elijah said, also ignoring Jackson who was radiating heat.
“Klaus I can handle. Are you sure it would be no trouble?”
“What else are friends for?” Elijah gave you a small smile.
“Okay. I need a ride to pick up my stuff from the hotel.” You faked a little laugh.
“Let’s go grab your stuff.” Elijah said, patting your upper leg and getting up.
You followed him. Jackson was directly in your path. “Oh Jackson, you’re still here. I thought you had left. After all, Hayley needs her important item asap.” The innocence in your voice was one lie that Jackson did not see through.
As he left, Jackson looked like he could turn several shades of red. You and Elijah continued to his car. “I guess we are trying to stop the same wedding.” You said once you got into the car.
“We are. You might have to actually stay with me to sell this to Jackson. I am sorry about that.”
“It will give us more time to plan.”
“My brother is counting on this wedding to go seamlessly. We would need to avoid him while we plan.”
“Jackson’s grandmother is against it.”
“Well this will be fun.” Chapter 1 Tagging @remembered-license and @akshi8278
