Do you think it’s weird that they’ve brought basically all the invaders back to life but never utilize them? Like some of Steve and Bucky’s best friends are just floating around in the ether never being mentioned.

The Curse of Torch Family 😔 I don't find it weird, just sad and futile, it's tough being a Jim Hammond and Toro Raymond fan because the orginal Marvel Torches will always be shoved into the background or trotted out once every few years to be paraded about like: See? We have old heroes who fought in the war that aren't Steve!

Marvel honestly doesn't know what to do with the Invaders, they always feel like they have to set them back in WWll era when I think it would be a better choice to set them in modern times and have them fight Red Skull and Neo Nazis and showcase how the world didn't get rid of Nazis/Racism after WWll.

They also don't know what to do with The Torches either, Johnny Storm is The Human Torch, he will always have that title and Jim is considered the beta form of that hero role unfortunately. Toro was a sidekick before Bucky but even he is ignored. Marvel just has a limited imagination of trying to fit in two more similar powered heroes into stories. Which is why Toro and Jim were treated so terribly in the Invaders 2019 run. The last time they had anything good was with The Torch miniseries, which is excellent imo.

Also I still think Brian Falsworth is still dead. Marvel is really riding that "Bury your canon Gays" train to the end of the line (I'm not a mcu stucky fan, don't throw stones for me using that turn of phrase!) So not all the Invaders are back from the dead. However Jackie is rarely mentioned too.

Due to the movies Steve, and also Bucky, have such a big presence they overshadow the other Invaders even if they are all in the same book. Namor also overshadows them due to his personality, and in the last run Chip really pushed his Steve/Namor agenda.

Concept for a future movie:

For the “Captain Britain” movie, Maisie Williams is cast as Harley Davis aka Motormouth, a foul-mouthed street gang member from London who is turned into a human cyborg. Sophie Turner is then cast as Jackie Falsworth, the daughter of Union Jack from the First Avenger movie. Kit Harrington reprises his role as Dane Whitman (Black Knight), along with Richard Madden as Ikaris

The movie doesn’t acknowledge the Game of Thrones connection until the post-credits scene. Ikaris, Dane, Jackie, and Harley are all in a room, awkwardly eating lunch. Dane then says, “Is it just me or...have I met you all before?” And Ikaris, Jackie, and Harley just shrug.

Jim watches as Namor and Jackie, a regal pair if ever he’s seen one, move gracefully across the floor. He can see as they turn that the pair are smiling and talking quietly between each other as they dance, smoothly like the pull of a tide. The song continues and Jim’s gaze lingers on Namor and Jackie across the room, the way they move with ease with one another. Despite Namor having almost a foot on her in height, the pair move well together, and it’s clear by the way those who aren’t dancing watch on, that they agree.

Based on the beginning of Winter Soldier: Winter Kills, where Namor says part of the reason he's attending the festivities at Lord Falsworth's manor is because it amuses him to watch Jim squirm whenever he spends time with Lady Jacqueline.

OR- the one where Jim has a massive crush on Namor and Namor knows.

Crazy idea when I was in the shower! If the Invaders were a Queen or ABBA song, which ones would they be?

I love your crazy ideas.

Namor - We’re the Princes of the Universe - Queen (Young, Arrogant Prince Namor before he learned more about the world and became closer to the Invaders)

Jim - I want to break free - Queen (Jim not wanting to be the weapon that people keep trying to make him be)

Steve - Is this the world we created? - Queen (regardless of what people think of Steve he is much more layered than most people give him credit for, he might be optimistic and always looking to a better future but he isn’t naive)

Toro - Don’t Stop Me Now - Queen (Young Toro when he finds Jim after his powers and loves being the Torch’s sidekick, also no one puts Toro in the corner!)

Bucky - Another bites the Dust - Queen (Bucky in the war killing Nazis and also later Winter Solider Bucky)

Jackie - Voulez-Vouz - Abba (This song has a very fast Spitfire energy)

Brian - Lay all your love on me - Abba (A Brian/Roger song)

When the Invaders get together again for the millionth time after they have been apart you can hear the “Mamma Mia Here We go again” part of the song in the background as a montage of Nazi Punching happens and when the team is together its We Will Rock You

Spitfire and Meggan are the only faculty there that haven’t been available in the game as far as I know. Cullen (Elsa’s brother), on a rampage in his monster form that needs stopping after rescuing those two and perhaps the other students (everyone needs Captain Britain’s alternate sleaze ball younger self.

Spitfire or Jacqueline Falsworth, Union Jack’s sister (well, the second Union Jack, Brian Falsworth who let’s be honest is probably more of the one this game is using). A fire controling vampire and well, there’s enough vampires in this game to make that a possibility. Spitfire also happened to be one of the Invaders along with her brother, Captain America and Bucky. 

So if we get Spitfire possible Invaders event? We’d be missing Jim Hammond (the original Human Torch), Toro (his inhuman adoptive son) and the moody fish king himself Namor (though that gets weird with licensing). There’s the standard 3 characters I’ve seen from most events, or four going off recent formats. Get the firebugs to unlock the water bugs, give Steve his wwii costume as an outfit, maybe even have Brian dress up as Stalin again for awkward Thor encounters.

Who’d be premium for this Invaders events? Honestly, my bet would be Spitfire if not already obtained or Toro. That said, who would be good for it, The Mighty Destroyer. Roger Aubrey, Brian’s canon lover in 616 (enjoy that presence Loki). Those interactions would be fun, obviously the game doesn’t mind same sex couples that were canon (see Wiccan and Hulkling being referred to as boyfriends). Give him an action for six hours call ‘Stop Union Jack trying what’s local.’

Is the Invaders event likely to happen? God no. They’ve already taken out Union Jack knowing Captain America from what I know and then there’s the licensing issues with Namor. That said, there’s quite a few that like Jim Hammond and he’s a lot more likely to happen than Johnny Storm in my mind.

Other possibilites:

Freeing Cullen which somehow leads in Avengers Academy from 616 showing up. Pretty sure most if not all the faculty from that school are in the game now, apart from Speedball, Justice and Quicksilver which is a whole new can of worms with licensing and maybe Scarlet Witch?

Going down the Meggan route and MI-13, We’ve a Union Jack, Captain Britain and Black Knight. How about adding Fazia Hussain? Badass muslim woc who just happens to actually yield Excalibur. Though, none of those characters are actually main series to the game so not sure they’d go down this route.
