The only times Jack gets distracted during Combat Training with Hunter is when little Mihou Junior wears an older workout top without realizing he’s had a bit of a growth spurt (it’s mostly muscle mass, Hunter is still quite small).

It’s during those sessions that Jack gets his butt kicked extra hard, mostly because Hunter has a “Stay on Task or Get Knocked on Your Ass” rule when it comes to training him.

It’s a rule they both mutually agreed on before training really took off, and while Jack would usually say he doesn’t like getting thrown around like a ragdoll, Hunter in a tight top is the exception

Jack also isn’t one to say no to getting tits close to his face while pinned down(boys a bit of a low key perv, lol), doesn’t matter if it’s boy or girl tits >:3

Needless to say if MK ever eavesdropped on those particular combat sessions, Jack would have a VERY angry older brother punching his lights out the second he caught him alone

"I don't need yer help." The dad didn't like any of them being here and makes it well known with his tone of voice. He continues to fight too until a robot knocks him down with full force, taking the star from him. Knocked right on his ass.

Clay sees the robot head over to Jack, then looks to see that his dad is down on the ground, the robot doesn't make it Jack. The same kind of rock pillar that was used on the training dummy when Raimundo issued the challenge was used on it and the star goes flying into the air.

Within a second Clay is airborne, catches it, then lands in front of Jack Spicer, looming down at him. That's a full on transformation. He's fucking pissed. He looks ready to beat Jack up not Showdown!

What the fuck. AGAIN!? WHAT THE FUCK!? FIRST THE OTHER GUY AND NOW CLAY!? CLAY HAS HORNS WHAT IS CLAY AND WHAT IS GOING ON. There's the tiniest little peep from him as he goes to back up, but Clay matches his moments. Uh oh.

"Jack Spicer..."

"Y-Yes...?"

"I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown!"

"Oh thank goodness I thought you were going to kill me."

That only caused Clay to blow dust in Jack's fast and Jack to whine. Scary enough thank you!

the animation is astonishingly gorgeous, especially for a pilot...my brain can't work out how they've done it!! reminds me of the movements from Storm Hawks 🤩 oh, and that marvellous voice work from the iconic Dana Snyder (Gazpacho from Chowder) as Nordic Bunny...and is that Danny Cooksey (Jack Spicer from Xiaolin Showdown) as Hank?! this kicks so much ass i am HERE for it 😭😭😭 and you're so right, we were robbed. everything is so fun in this pilot but the stand-out is that mental design for Nordic Bunny. what is he?!?! a sentient catboy guitar?!?! is he wearing lipstick and underpants on the outside of his...armour? or is that his body? the TAIL?!?! PLEASE!!! and oh my god he's so pathetic and whiny and crazy. i want an entire season of this right now just to see the deranged exploits he gets up to 😂 dude thank you so much for sending this pilot my way - i can see it's popped off severely on Twitter over the last day or so!!! all that lovely fanart 🥰 and the producer/director Matt Danner has been giving a lot of amazing background information on the show!!! who knows, maybe Disney would be willing to give it another shot...👀

It often amazes me how the creators Xiaolin just randomly put Jack's Spicer outlook the way they did. I love my guy Rai, cuz he's handsome af, but Jack? Jack freaking Spicer is THE icon of the show when it comes to image. The pale skin, red, like really red (and messy) hair, the long black leather jacket, and it all boosted with the MAKE UP? Make up on a B0Y in 2002/3? They werent playing, that's for sure. Like you can imagine him with some piercing and nail polish on his nails so easily, and it would totally make sense and look good?! so many people love him not only cuz of his personality, but also because of that look, and Im not blaming them, cuz he HAD IT!

theres so many things i wanna talk about so i hope its not too wordy-

i want to touch upon his character design because really- simplicity works so much in his favour here. his design only really gets crowded around his heli-pack, and it keeps all of those simple colours that make up his design (black, red, yellow, white). i like the attention of detail that went into his design and even the way they drew robo-jack with a sharp edge.

i really enjoy how he’s very much so matching wuya in the process, but only her masked form. in a way it reminds me of how he’s left behind by her, as she moves on to different colours herself (black, red, green and purple).

his stupid little gnarled up tail of a trench coat, his family is obviously wealthy and he still choses to wear /that/.

his goggles are quite literally iconic.

i love how shapely his silhouette is .. have you seen this creature??? they accentuate his collar and make it stand out its wonderful..

hes kind of like a bug to me that i like to analyse, like theres so much going on with that guyyyy. his other costumes are iconic as well, and i love his big ole eyebrows + goofy over the top eye makeup. hes got so much working for him here!! the perfect specimen!!

Hello hello hello! Is this a bookclub?! Is this chaotic ramble?! Ding ding! You got it wrong!

Writing full on reviews is tiedous and long, and while I appreciate doing it, I'm myself not always in the mood to read a long post explaining why a book is genius. Do I love that from time to time? Yes! Do I have the attention span to write one now? Nope! However, I still wanted to share some titles I recently (re)discovered, and that I think are marvellous reads for anyone wanting to dive into something new.

Here you'll find a few recommendations with the shortest of words to tell you why they are great, or just scream about it.

short disclaimer before I begin because this is tumblr and while I forgot a lot about this website, I remember how the TW thing works lol, it's at your own discretion to search for the works beforehand if you have any trigger you don't want to encounter.

Jack Spicer - Billy the kid

The master of my fate, captain of my soul as Timothée Chalamet would say idk I barely know the guy. Classic and gold, Spicer is an amazing writer and this poem is phenomenal. It's quite short and perfect if you want to know more about the wonder that was US American poetry during the 20th century. Of course I'd encourage you to read all of his works, but Billy the Kid is perfect to start somewhere.

Ryunosuke Akutagawa - Hell Screen

Classic and iconic, I've recently pushed further than Rashomon and boy oh boy am I never turning back. Hell Screen is a phenomenal short story displaying all the elegance and cruelty Akutagawa can incorporate in his works. It's mesmerizing, it aches, it's everything I love. I read this story in Jay Rubin's translation (Penguin Classics), and even though I do not speak Japanese so I cannot compare, I dare say it's a very good one.

Lucie Bryon, Thieves

I never recommended comic books before but I wanted to for a change! I am a huge comic book lover, but most of the ones I usually read are not available in english language. This one is, though. Thieves is a beautiful comic about growth, falling in love and finding acceptance in others and in yourself. It's light and heartwarming, like eating candy.

Ottessa Moshfegh, Lapvona

Now, this book exploits one of my biggest plot weaknesses ever, and that is fucked up people in medieval settings. Lapvona tells the story of Marek, a sheperd's son, who'll be caught in a series of unfortunate events, political struggles, and secrets, all inside the town of Lapvona. It's dark and unsettling, the characters are scandalous and horrible, yet sickeningly human. Now, I said to check the TW yourselves, but be very careful with this one, if you can think of a TW, then it's certainly in this book.

Osamu Dazai, Early Light

In the Storybook ND series, this book contains three short stories : Early Light, Three Hundred Views of Mount Fuji, and Villon’s Wife. I'd recommend the three of them, as it's a fantastic dive into Dazai's shorter works. I think that reading his short stories is very important to understand his work and the width of the subjects and stories he wrote about. It helps that once again, in my opinion, the translation chosen by this publishing house is so good.

This is it for today! Here you have five of the works I read (or re-read) this summer, and that I'd warmly recommend. There are two short stories (Dazai, Akutagawa), a comic book (Bryon), a novel (Moshfegh) and a poem (Spicer). 'Till next time!

Jack Spicer was one of the most iconic TV villains of my childhood. Actually, most of the villains on Xiaolin Showdown were pretty iconic.

I mostly remember Jack, Wuya, and Chase. I know there were at least two other ones that had animal themes, Katnappe and Panda Bubba.

Do Megan and Dojo still have tea parties together occasionally?

In my silly head, when Megan is at Spicer's manor, she informs Kimiko they might come with a visit (much to jack's tsundere protest). (side note: little girl steals Jack's phone to write a message haha what a resourceful girl) If some of the monks are occupied with their own temple-related responsibilities, it's usually Omi and Dojo storming out Jack's lair only to have the tea party! Omi and Dojo might teach Megan how to make delicious traditional Chinese tea!

However, I would like to suggest monks take turns so they all could have some quality time with Megan (and Jack bc he becomes actually fun to hang out with but Kimiko and Rai would never admit that out loud haha).

But, yeah. Megan and Lady Dojo are an iconic tea party duo, please DO NOT SEPARATE.

Oh, and Megan TOTALLY should visit the temple one day so she could drag Master Fung to her shenanigans!

                        Moment's when Jack Spicer was evil for real:

We all see Jack as this "wannabe evil boy" who just tries to be evil so hard, and tries so hard to impress the real villains of the series like Chase or Hannibal, but he got some real evil moments himself 😏

1. Ep.9, S.1- "My Homey Omi"- When he wanted to run over Dojo in the abandoned train station and was mad when Dojo survived. Some people say they were traumatized by this scene and I can't blame them. I mean - he really wanted to do this, and his anger also was real.

2. Ep.52, s.3 - "Time after Time part 1" - When Omi got his brilliant idea of taking his stoopid ass back in time to prevent Chase from becoming evil there's a lot of things going on. I mean multiple universes, multiple versions of reality and events. The first thing that happens after Omi freezes himself is Jack attacking the temple and actually winning over monks. (I get that they were probably in bad morals at the time, but let's not act like the 3 of them wouldn't actually beat Jack's ass as usual just because Omi wasn't there. C'mon, a better explanation would be the version in which Jack, Wuya and Chase were doing this together and then he screwed them over and prisoned them with the monks, but...Whatever). He built the prison they couldn't escape. Neither monks, neither villains, who were in even worse position, cuz they were tortured. Wuya chained and in a cheerleading costume... Which is a little bit weird to me tbh, but I can understand it was in the name of Jack wanting Wuya to feel embarrassed, or he just wanted to objectify her. Chase - almost naked, water dripping on his head, chained and with yellow paint brush smudging on his abs. Hannibal in his big form in a cage that is clearly too small for him. Monks prisoned in one cell, old, eating some nasty food. I mean Kim had bones in her hair instead of some hairband or whatever, so... Yea, bad conditions in general. Not to mention they were patrolled constantly, probably 24h/7 day a week by robots, and they had to fight like gladiators even tho they were 80 at the point Omi found them, so Jack could feel "even more evil" and just feel like he's Julius Caesar. I mean yikes, you can't deny he had some fantasy there.

3. Ep. 34, s. 2 - "The new order" - Jack traps Chase Young(!😳) in Sphere of Yun and takes over his palace, while still making comments about Chase and how old he is. Maybe it's not that serious and big, he didn't even hurt Chase in any way, and didn't seem to think about it, but imo it was still pretty badass considering how Jack was always licking Chase's ass, just for him to like him a little bit more.

4. I don't know which episode it was, but remember when Wuya turned her back on

Jack...again, and for once he was not having it? He again was acting like a total

badass and boss towards her. He even said she has to be gone by the time he gets home. He was cold and said he doesnt need her cuz he built a device that detects wu instead of her, so... Outstanding move, Wuya:0, Jacko: 1!
