The Greatest
Jack Sparrow x Fem!Reader

Note: This is based on The Greatest by Billie Eilish, so credit to her for some of the song lyrics.
Jack sat on the sand, he was here at last, in Davy Jones’ locker. He had been expecting this for a while, but he wasn’t expecting her to be here with him. She sat next to him, facing away, angry at him for this predicament. The shoreline wasn’t far and the gentle breeze was refreshing from the harsh sun that was setting now.
“Look, love, you knew this were gonna happen at some point.”
She just scoffed, this was the first time either had said a word since they realized where they were. She laid down, hoping he would leave her alone. Even now, he still couldn’t see. She was going to die with him here, and still he couldn’t accept the blame. She shut her eyes, hoping she could sleep but all she felt was the terror she felt when she was taken by the kraken. The tentacles wrapping around the ship, the deep fear of the water. Elizabeth kissing Jack, and him seemingly kissing back. She knew Jack was attracted to Elizabeth, she had eyes, and reasonable judgment but her fears all came true in that moment. She wasn’t his priority, not in the way she wanted to be.
In the morning, Jack was still asleep when she woke up. Watching him sleep, she still felt anger and sadness but also fear. How long would they survive? Hunger didn’t seem to change here, and she was glad because there was nothing on the Pearl and there was nothing but sand everywhere else. But then again, there was no-one else here, so they would have to die at some point. She began to cry silently.
Jack began to stir, finally waking. She turned back away from him but he caught her for a split second. He didn’t say anything, just sat up and looked at the sun, trying to gauge what time it was. He then shuffled across the sand to be by her side. She didn;t react at first, but then moved to stand up. She still didn’t look at him, she thought about going back to the Black Pearl but what would be the point, there was nothing there. She picked a direction, and started walking. Honestly, she’d rather be anywhere but with him now.
“Where are you going, love?”
“Don’t call me love.”
He ran after her. She was the only other person here and he sure as hell wasn’t dying alone.
“Where are you walking to? There’s nothing here.”
“Anywhere but with you.”
“That hurts.”
She turned around to him, now he could see that her eyes were red and sore, her cheeks flushed. She punched him straight in the face, her fist connected to his cheek. He fell down to the floor, shocked, he didn’t think she’d actually punch him.
“Do you want to know what hurt is? I spent my whole life looking past your mistakes, your arrogance and your pride and look where it’s got me.”
“Love I-”
“I’m not done. I wake up everyday hoping things will change but they never do. Do you even like me? Or am I just a lackey for you to have around?”
“It’s not-”
“Don’t.” She began to walk off again, but then stopped when he wasn’t following. “Do you have anything to say?”
“You were the greates-”
“You’ve taken everything from me. All my love and patience, all my admiration.”
“I swear, love-”
“All the times I waited for you to want me naked. I made it all look painless. Man, am I the greatest?” She started crying again but also laughing, rubbing the tears from her face so he wouldn’t see. She had silenced him. “I loved you, and somehow I still do. Just wanted you to stop blaming everyone else.”
She began walking again. Her feet digging into the sand, making it hard to walk fast. Anywhere but here, she kept repeating to herself. But then a hand grabbed her shoulder, turned her around. Before she could question what was going on, lips crashed on hers. It was soft at first, but as soon as she kissed back, Jack roughened it. Both of their lips were calloused and dry and scratched against each other. His hands wrapped around her waist and hers reached up to his face, pulling him closer. He pulled away, and looked at her, his hand raised to her cheek, cradling it in his hand. She softened against it.
“Love, I’m sorry you’re here and that we’ll die here.” She sunk into his arms. He cradled her head. She shuddered and he pulled her closer. But something was moving around her feet.
“What th-” Crabs were everywhere, scuttling along the ground. Thousands of crabs were racing towards the shoreline. Jack let go of her, and started looking behind them. The Pearl was moving towards them.
“Get on the ship!” There feet were struggling against the sand. She spotted a rope hanging by the side of the ship, it was enough for them to climb up. Jack grabbed it and began to climb, she followed quickly behind, grabbing his hand to help her up. Once they were on, they could see the crew from the Black Pearl on the beach, drenched from the sea. She grabbed Jack’s hand, and smiled at him. They weren’t going to die here after all.

Flufftober Day 15: Emergency, Confession, Adventure [2,778 words]
My Flufftober '23 masterpost can be found here 💜✨
Notes: So I’m using Ada as the OC in this, and if you’ve read Catch the Wind, you’ll recognise her from that. But you don’t need to know that to understand this, it doesn’t have to take place in the same universe, it’s mostly just me taking a wee shortcut so I don’t need to built a whole new OC for the sake of this one little story.
This one was very difficult – not only because of, well, Jack, but because if I was going to do this well, it would be a good 50k words with a lot of build-up and development and all of my usual bullshit. But it’s flufftober and there’s no time for that, so it had to be super mega condensed instead. I figure you guys understand that, and shortcuts can be taken. The thing with Jack is that he's never going to be a fairytale prince (*cough*Norrington*cough*) so this was the closest I could get to a kinda sorta sweet romance involving him.
And it features murder.
Anyway, warning for canon-typical violence here 💜
Jack and Ada had something that she liked to think of as an understanding. It had begun one time, a couple of years ago, when he’d come to her tavern seeking a woman to pass the night with – before promptly finding something wrong with every single available choice on offer. Ada knew he was playing games with her then, for any woman who she employed was beautiful in some way or another, truly one for any and every taste, and so if none were to his liking (he declared that one had unsightly elbows, for god’s sake), it was because he was determined not to like any of them.
Then, when she’d asked him what exactly it was he was seeking, he’d gone to great pains…to describe her. Simply fixing her with that dark stare of his and watching with a smirk when she brought forth a girl who did look somewhat like her, before waving that girl away. Ada had laughed at him for it, and the laugh lost much of its impact when she fell into bed with him later that night.
She didn’t charge him. Not because she balked at the idea of being considered a whore, and not because she was soft on him either. No, mostly it was because she had a good time, and she knew that charging would set a dangerous precedent for the other men here. If they all thought she had a price, she’d never be rid of them. But a casual arrangement for some fun with a handsome captain who would never desire anything more from her? That wasn’t a half bad thing.
Until he got it in his head to start playing mind games.
“Jack,” she greeted when he swaggered into her tavern one night – the first night in months. “How can we help you tonight?”
By her reckoning, it had been upwards of five visits in a row that he’d chosen to wait for her to be free for the night rather than paying for the company of one of her girls. But it wouldn’t do to assume – and she knew him well enough to know his choice could be a decision to save gold…or a point of masculine pride, perhaps, for she wouldn’t fake a thing without monetary incentive. But the gold thing didn’t much check out, considering he could charm plenty of women across the island free of charge.
Still, when he sniffed and dug his hands into his pockets, she knew this time was different.
“That blonde lass, I think. Cheery one. Name like…Opal? Amethyst?...Topaz?”
Ada chuckled – something he didn’t seem to like as his dark eyes remained fixed on her for any hint of a reaction to the status quo being upended.
“I would never employ a girl called Topaz,” she teased. “It’s Pearl you’re after. I’d have thought you’d remember that easily enough. Make yourself at home and I’ll send her over.”
He hesitated, eyes narrowing for a moment, and then he sniffed and went to his usual table. And Ada? Ada put the matter from her mind. To not expect something like this from Jack was to be an idiot, and she was not an idiot. Indeed, her greatest reaction was to secure some company for herself for the night – only once he’d absconded with Pearl, otherwise the fool would get it in his head that she was trying to make him jealous. The only thing worse than giving someone the reaction they sought was having them mistakenly think you’d done so.
There was a particular sailor in for the night – handsome, and with the outrageous confidence to match. He was happy enough to hang around until her business for the night could be left in the hands of her right-hand man, who was always complaining about not having enough responsibility. Everybody won. A fair enough form of salvaging the night, she thought.
She slipped out of her quarters in the wee small hours, the tavern empty save for those who were passed out and too heavy to haul away, clad in a silk robe that had been a gift from a captain from the east who’d sought to seduce her. He’d succeeded, for a time. The stale smell of drink, smoke, and sweat lingered in the humid air – on the rare occasion they managed to get rid of it while they were closed, it would be gone just in time for them to reopen again the next day, repeating the process. When she found Jack sitting in the dark at the bar without that usual smug post-fuck look on his face, she suspected he could not say the same. Which was surprising, for Pearl was very talented – and more than charming.
“Drink?” she asked.
“Do I have to pay for it?”
“Usually I’d charge you double for the cheek of asking,” she snorted. “But we’re closed…and this is from my own stash.”
Retrieving a bottle of wine from beneath the loose wooden floorboard, she slid atop the stool beside his, uncorked it, took a gulp, and then handed it in his direction. Ordinarily at this hour, had they spent the night with one another, they’d have lapsed into quiet chat about nothing in particular – in a way that circled around to be about everything. He’d tell tales of his adventures, of the fantastical things he had seen in such a way that she was often left wondering if he was teasing her or not.
And Ada? Well, Ada hadn’t seen much beyond Tortuga. She’d come here young, very young, with her parents and worked her way up to where she was now once they died not long thereafter. So she told him what she wanted to see. Not in a dirty way, either. Of myths and legends she’d heard, and how she planned to find out for herself one day whether they were true or not. She had a plan for that, too, in the form of her ‘one day’ fund, carefully hidden in her room. She’d been adding to it ever since she stopped living hand to mouth, and one day was drawing nearer and nearer – she just knew it.
Jack was one of the few who did not laugh at her when she told him that.
“Busy night, love?” he asked.
“A lady doesn’t kiss and tell,” she teased.
His moustache twitched as his lips threatened to purse, and Ada arched one dark eyebrow at him.
“A more irrational woman might think you’re showing signs of jealousy, Captain. But that would be hypocritical, would it not?”
His brow furrowed for a moment, but then he sniffed, shrugged, and handed the bottle back to her before speaking lightly.
“I wouldn’t say that.”
“You wouldn’t?”
“No. I would not. It’s different for men.”
Ada cracked a dangerous, disbelieving smile. “Oh?”
“Take the King of England. He – they, all of them collectively…consecutively, in their time King-ing – have mistresses. The queens never do. See. Different.”
“And when did you decide that the King’s standard is the one you wish to follow?”
“I’ve robbed many of his men. Allows me to make a decent assessment of what he must be like.”
Scoffing, she toyed with the neck of the bottle and rolled her eyes at how Jack’s eyes seemed to struggle in distancing themselves from the gesture.
“The queens cannot stray because it calls the line of succession into question. That is not a problem here – unless you’re truly suggesting we have a child?”
There was nothing Ada liked the idea of less. Not with him, nor with anybody. Ever.
“I might be,” he sniffed.
“Ugh.”
He grinned – but then a thud sounded from the door to her quarters, tucked where they were behind the bar, and his eyes narrowed as they sought the source of the noise.
“A moment,” she murmured, slipping from the stool and making to go and see her guest out, like any good host would.
“Ada,” Jack said.
In hindsight, she would realise she should have noted the shift in his voice. The way it morphed from teasing and casual to suddenly insistent and serious. For Jack was never serious.
“I’m saying goodbye, Jack, not going for round two,” she snorted, shrugging off the hand that tried to grab at her arm.
Leaving swiftly so as to avoid any bickering on the topic, she rounded the bar and strode to her room. She entered to find it torn apart, the mattress askew in the frame, one of her pillows cut open, her drawers emptied and overturned. By the time she’d finished demanding what the hell he thought he was doing, he had a pistol aimed at her chest.
“Who were you talking to out there?”
God, she hoped Jack was hearing this. More still – she hoped, against all hope, that he would help.
“No one.”
“Liar.”
“No one!” she insisted loudly. “Mr Drake is passed out drunk, I was trying to wake him so he’d leave, but there was no managing it.”
The sailor’s lip curled, but he seemed satisfied enough – although he did not lower the gun.
“Where are the jewels? The gold?”
“Jewels and gold?” she breathed a laugh. “If I had much of either, I wouldn’t live here, lad.”
“This place makes a killing every night,” he jabbed the gun in her direction. “I’ve watched. I’ve noticed.”
“How observant of you,” she said drily, crossing her arms as though he was being ridiculous.
It allowed her to feel the racing of her heart all the more.
“You have to spend money to make money. Most of it goes back into the running of the establishment. Once the staff have been taken care of, I can barely afford to eat.”
“Your windows are cracked, your door is rotting, and your rum is second-rate. You’ve got a stash somewhere.”
“I have an old onyx necklace you’re more than welcome to,” she scoffed, “It only has one scratch across it, and the setting is tarnished. It might earn you a few shillings. Beyond that, I’m afraid I can’t help.”
A creak sounded in the tavern proper behind her, the sailor’s attention shot towards it, and Ada made her mistake. Her eyes darted in the direction of the porcelain dolls lined up neatly atop her wardrobe, and when she looked back to the sailor, he was already following her gaze. And then he was grinning.
He took a step in their direction, and the cocking of the pistol stopped her in her tracks when she made to follow. Tall as he was, it was little problem for him to retrieve one of the dolls – and when he shook it, it rattled heavily.
The shutters to the window were open, and he threw them one by one out of it. Ada listened to them hit the sand outside – years of careful saving and dreaming, all gone in a matter of minutes. Because she’d sought to salvage the night with the wrong person.
When the final doll was flung outside, he grinned and turned to her.
“Not often I get a bit of fun and paid for my troubles.”
“A pity your mother couldn’t say the same,” Ada shot back.
It was difficult to regret it, even as his trigger finger twitched. But, finally, he lowered the gun, grin in place as he smoothed back his blond hair.
“You’re emotional. I’ll let you have that one.”
Turning back towards the window, he leaned out of it and looked down. The tavern was on sandy terrain, and therefore on stilts, so no doubt he sought to make sure he wouldn’t land on his new prize in the dark. But then a shot rang out through the night, and his body slumped over the window frame, arms slackening and boots twitching against the floor.
Ada went down almost as quickly, arms curled over her head. A double-crossing accomplice, maybe? One who sought to double his prize? She remained there, crouched down low, poised to duck under the bed or run for Jack at the first sign of trouble, when the voice of that very pirate hissed through the night.
“Are you going to come and get these Ada, love, or am I to throw these very breakable dolls at you?”
She gawped, and then she was up in the next moment, dragging aside the corpse – it was far from the first she’d seen – and leaning over the bloodied frame. Jack stood there, smug as all hell, the very bloodied dolls gathered in his arms. Once she’d accepted them, he leapt up and grasped the sill with both hands, pulling himself up and into the room in a very annoying feat of upper body strength.
“Now,” he grunted as he clambered into the room. “I can’t say I’m not tempted to say I told you so.”
To illustrate his point, he knocked a boot against the leg of the corpse. Ada didn’t laugh. She was unable to, shakier than she’d like to show, counting and recounting the dolls over and over again, furious at her own stupidity in how she’d given the game away.
“Strange place to hide your gold, love,” he grunted.
Silently, she wrenched the head from one of the dolls, pulled a string of very fine pearls from within, and held it out in his direction.
“For your trouble,” she said flatly. “I’ll give you more if you handle the body for me.”
“I’ve never needed payment to handle bodies,” he teased, voice adopting a low note.
She didn’t laugh, taking in the wreckage of her room, still caught between shock, fury, and terror. The stock of very strong drinks next door was sounding very, very good. Even if they were second-rate.
“Ada, darlin’,” he changed tact, approaching and regarding the dolls. “If they’re all stocked up with goods like these…you’ve enough to book passage a hundred times over. What is it exactly you’re waiting for?"
"It’s not just about booking passage,” she shook her head. “I’m not looking to go from one shack to another. I want…I want adventure. Freedom. To go everywhere, see everything. I can’t do that alone – not as a woman. Look at what just happened here tonight under my own roof. I need…I need enough to pay a man or two to watch my back. Protection, food, passage for me and them, room and board…all of it.”
“Most men here would slit your throat and take the lot if they cottoned on to the stock you’ve got here.”
“I can be very charming when I need to be, Jack.”
“…Think that might only harm your case, depending on the man, love.”
Ada sighed, in no mood for this debate.
“Three necklaces,” Jack said finally.
“You’re haggling with me? Now?”
“I am not,” he looked offended at the very notion. “One for that. Two for getting rid of it. Another…for passage on the Pearl.”
Ada stared at him in disbelief. When he saw the look, he cleared his throat, frowned, and stared straight ahead – leaving her with the impression that the offer could be rescinded if she so much as breathed in a way that unsettled him in the next few minutes.
“They can spare you here for a few weeks, can’t they? Come out, see…whatever there is to see, after that…” he trailed off, shrugged, and sniffed. “That’s for after.”
“You’re asking me to travel with you?”
“Don’t get…clingy,” he made a vague sort of gesture – as if she’d ever clung – but the insult was taken from the rule when he added at a grumble. “…And don’t cavort with any of me men.”
He was offering this. Truly. Her disbelief was sharply morphing into delight.
“What about the women?”
Jack grinned. “Only if I’m invited, love.”
That could be arranged.

Chapter 7: Tortuga
General POV
The trio jumped off the interceptor and landed on the dock of Tortuga.
Will was carefully looking around seeing a lot of drunken sailors and woman with really tight dresses and loads of makeup on their faces.
Rosemary loosened her hair out of the ponytail and took her hat, she placed it on her head to make her outfit complete.
Even though Rosemary was walking around in Tortuga and not Port Royal she wanted to look the best she could. She was a tailor after all.
'Stick with me' Jack said
'And Will hold her close'
We walked off deeper into Tortuga. Rosemary nor Will had any idea where Jack was leading them
'It is indeed a sad life that has never breathed deep the sweet, proliferous bouquet that is Tortuga.
Savvy? '
The trio was walking around town and the further we walked into the town. The more drunken sailors , pirates or woman we saw.
'Well what do you think?' Jack asked . He turned around to look at Will and Rosemary.
'You know what I think ' Rosemary said while holding her nose up from the horrendous smell that was around. They were close to an shet or a urinating place.
'I love the people here, but I prefer it to be noon instead of the late late evening.'
Will was looking as confused as ever. He never had been to a place like this. And never seen a Woman dressing like that selling herself to drunken sailors.
' Ill tell you mate' Jack said while putting an arm around Will.
'If every town in the world were like this one, no man would ever feel unwanted.' Jack let go of Will.
And Rosemary was rolling her eyes at him.
Rosemary's POV
When we were about to walk further. A woman with dark red hair, and a lot of roots from the painting came up towards us.
Her makeup was all over her face. And her dress was to small and dirty.
'Scarlet!' Jack said while holding his arms open.
But she didn't stop to hug or talk to Jack.
Instead she slapped him right on his cheek.
Will and I both had our hand on our mouths and I couldn't help but laugh at Jack.
'Scarlet' looked me up and down and narrowed her eyes. Before she stomped off towards the group of girls she was with.
'Not sure I deserved that' Jack said asking himself.
'Well from the looks of her' I shrugged and bit on my lower lip holding back my chuckle.
But before we knew it a small blond girl stood before us.
'Giselle' Jack said looking a bit confused
'Who was she?' she said before slapping Jack across the cheeks again.
'And who is she' She said while pointing at me.
I hold up my hands.
'Nah sorry, I'm not with him' I simply said.
Giselle narrowed her eyes and then walked off.
'I May have deserved that' Jack mumbled before he spoke up.
'Will fetch me a few buckets of water'
'Here lets go' I said towards Will and pulled him towards the water pump.
'For what in heavens sake would we need water' Will said while pumping
I shrugged. 'Its Jack. I don't think I need to explain any further do I ?' I said with a small chuckle.
General POV
Jack walked up towards a shed opening the door. He was nodding to Will en Rosemary to come in with the buckets of water.
It smelled horrendous in there. So Rose was holding her nose up her fingers closing her nostrils.
Will was looking at her with a smile. She was still a little bit spoiled.
But hen he caught the smell in his nose. And he started to dry heeve.
Which made Rose burst out laughing.
To which Jack motioned that they should be quiet and that Will should move closer towards him. With the bucket of water.
In the shed with the pigs there was an older man sleeping with a bottle in his hands.
Jack motioned to Will that he should throw the bucket on the man. And so he did.
The man shook up. And started mumbling nonsense.
'Curse you for breathing, you slack-jawed idiot!' the man cursed and looked up towards Jack and Will. his face cleared up.
'Mother's love! Jack!
You should know better than to wake a man when he's sleepin'
Its bad luck!' he lisped.
'Ah fortunately, I know how to counter it.
The man who did the waking buys the man who was sleeping a drink.
The man who was sleeping drink it, while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking. ' Jack said while squatting next to the man. And holding out his head.
'Aye, That'll about do it.' The man said.
And Jack lifted him up.
Rose came forward with another bucket of water and threw it around the ears of the man.
'I was already awake miss.. ' he looked at Rose confused
'That was for the smell' she said smiling.
And looked at the man.
'You look so incredibly familiar' Rose said eyeing the man.
'Rosemary don't stare at him like that' Jack said almost jealous.
'Ah miss Rivers. I did not think I would ever see you around here' the man said.
'Well neither did I Mister Gibbs' Rose said smirking.
'You're father would keelhaul you, if he ever saw you in Tortuga you know that right?' Gibbs told her.
'Yeah yeah, were here for something else' she motioned towards Jack.
'Well shall we then?' Jack said confused while walking off.
The group entered a bar. It was a huge mess. Drunk people everywhere and even small fights breaking out.
Rose smirked looking around while Jack was ordering drinks.
She was quite interested by everything going on. She had only been to the port of Tortuga so she had never sat foot in a bar here.
Rose turned around looking to a fight brewing in the back of the bar. she was tapping with her fingers on the wood of the bar waiting for Jack to be done.
'I'm quite interested in you, y'know'
Rose fastly turned around to look straight into Jack's eyes.
She lifted her eyebrow looking at him.
'You know what you want. You say what you want ' I appreciate that in a woman.
'Keep dreaming Jack.
You got the drinks?' she took the cups out of his hands and walked off.
The bartender grope Jack's coat.
'Did she just got your rum? U got it bad mate' the bartender said while shaking his head.
'Who would have thought Jack Sparrow would had a soft spot.' He was talking to himself.
Jack walked off after Rose who was holding the drinks and dodging drunk people before she got stopped by an huge man stepping right in front of her.
'L..Lass ' he hiccuped.
'I don't fink u shouwld be wearing those clofes at all' he spat at Rose.
Will walked up towards Rose as did Jack, but Will got there first.
And stepped in front of Rose.
'I think you should leave her alone mate' Jack said while also catching up.
'Really guys?
You really think I'm that much of a helpless woman?
Here hold on to this. ' Rose pushed the cups into Jacks arms. And pushed Will aside.
She pulled the clearly drunk man at his coat towards her.
'You know. ' she said while pulling him even closer. Her mouth was next to his ear.
'You know, I think I can wear whatever the fuck I want' she bit in his ear.
So the man jumped up and fell backwards.
'SKANK! You bit in me bloody ear' he scowled towards Rose.
Who got back the cups from Jack and stepped over the men towards the table Gibbs was holding free for them.
'Pathetic ' she spat at the man.
The whole bar was looking at Rose.
Jack looked at Will and Will looked directly back shrugging his shoulders.
As they followed Rose towards the table.
As she sat down she shoved Gibbs a cup. And sat the other 3 on the table.
Crossing her legs. Raising an eyebrow when she saw everyone looking at her.
She saw the drunken man stand up. And wanting to walk towards her again. But she saw him coming and threw her cup on the wall next to him.
It almost exploded next to the man's head. And he gulped looking at her.
She looked straightly back into his eyes. And shook her head.
He actually backed off.
And she sat back down next to Gibbs.
'Will. Did you know she could do that?' Jack asked while he lifted his top lip a bit.
'Its almost scary, I thought she was a high class royal'
Will chuckled.
'Well she's kinda both. She grew up in the Swann household. But she was in the town way more and I thinked she picked up some things.' Will shrugged.
'Well anyway. Keep an sharp eye ' Jack said to Will.
He walked towards the table where Gibbs and Rose were sitting.
'Rose love, this is kind of grow up talk' Jack said while trying to shoo Rose from the table.
She raised her eyebrow. Looking at Jack.
'I'm good where I am' she said looking in his eyes.
'Well then.' Jack said while sitting at the table.
'Now , what's the nature of this venture of your'n' Gibbs asked Jack.
Jack quickly skimmed around and looked at Gibbs.
'I'm going after the Black Pearl' Jack said
Gibbs almost chocked on his rum. And looked at Rose and then at Jack.
'I know where it's going to be, and I'm gonna take it.' Jack simply stated.
'Jack , it's a fool's errand. You know better than methe tales of the Black Pearl.' Gibbs said shaken.
'That's why I know what Barbossa is up to.
All I need is a crew. '
'What I hear around here is Captrain Barbossa's not a man to suffer fools, nor strike a bargain with one.' Gibbs told Jack carefully.
'Well then it's a very good thing, I'm not a fool. ' Jack said
'Well prove me wrong. What makes you think Barbossa will give up his ship to you? '
'Lets just say it's a matter of leverage.' Jack said and looked over towards Will.
Gibbs shook his head not understanding what Jack meant.
'Excuse me what? ' Rose stated.
'Gibbs its obviously about the lad over there? Will' she almost needed to turn his head for him towards Will who was standing closeby.
Jack ignored Rose.
'That kid is the child of Bootstrap Bill Turner, His only child. Savvy?'
Gibbs mouth fell open. Understanding what was happening.
'Hello? I'm right here?! Jack jesus tell me ' Rose started to get a little frustrated she wasn't just a little girl who was 11 years old. She was a grown up woman.
And she wanted to know what in the world he was talking about.
'You'll see Love, He's going to be completely fine' Jack said with a soft smile and a chuckle.
'Leverage says you' Gibbs said with a soft smile.
'I think I feel a change in the wind, says I' Gibbs said to Jack.
'Ill find us a crew. There's bound to be sailors on this rock as crazy as you Jack'
'One can only hope.' Jack said while raising his cup of rum.
'Take what you can.'
'Give nothin' back' Gibbs said as they clashed their cups together and drank them.
They looked at Rose as if she was not clashing her cup with them.
'I don't have a cup anymore remember' Rose said while pointing towards the wall where she threw her cup against.
She winked at them both. And stood up walking towards Will.
'She's a special one.
Isn't she Gibbs'
'Aye sir' Gibbs said.

The Redhead of The Sea (Jack Sparrow x Fem!OC)
Chapter 2:
She joined Elizabeth in the carriage and sat beside her while the older man sat across from them. The door closed, and not even a second later, the carriage started to move.
"How many times must I tell you to call me Elizabeth?" Artemis whispered and mocked her sister, keeping her voice low and her lips close to her sister's ear.
"What? But is the truth" her adopted sister spoke back, her tone lowered to ensure her father would not hear them.
"Yet you expected Will, of all people, to start acting friendly, especially with your father around?"
"Well..." When Elizabeth had nothing to say and argue, she pouted. "Stop scolding me!" she complained, having no comeback to her words before they both giggled.
Their hushed tones and even giggles had drawn the attention of the older man, who had raised both of them since they were little kids. "What are you two giggling and talking about?" he dared ask, although deep down, he suspected what answer he would get.
"Oh, you know, father, women things", Elizabeth replied, causing the old man to roll his eyes.
Being a single father and raising a daughter was hard enough; now, he has two of them at the most notorious of ages. He stayed quiet and focused on his thoughts and responsibilities, allowing the two women to continue their whispered conversation.
"Not my fault that you are such a fish, but you have to admit I am right," Artemis continued, keeping her voice low.
"Yeah, perhaps... Anyway, what are you going to do about that mysterious suitor? You still haven't told me his name."
At the mention of that man, her mood changed, and her smile disappeared. She suppressed a shiver, some rather unpleasant memories flashing into her mind, but she hid everything behind the 'mask' she chose to wear. "And I am not going to because he doesn't matter to me."
"He might be the only one, though," Elizabeth reminded her, considering her older adopted sister was running out of options.
She did not want to see her unhappy or with someone who would not appreciate her, but she had to pressure her. They did not have the privileges and freedom they wished for, and her father could only do so much, especially for the redhead. She was the proper age of 22, and most of her peers, if not almost all, were already married and with children.
Her options were already limited due to her...background but also her 'disability'. With each passing year, those options kept being reduced, and if she dared not be matched with anyone, she would be the laughing stock of the town, whether she was the Governor's adopted daughter.
"Yeah, but my guts are telling me that this man is rotten eggs and nothing more," Artemis said as an excuse, not wanting to go into any more details.
Everything else was personal, and she did not wish to burden her little sister with more unnecessary drama and stress. Not when the teenager already had enough on her plate and would have even more once the proposal took place.
"I can understand you, but I don't think we will have much choice. We can't stay unmarried forever."
"I know, and unless something extraordinary happens, you and I will end up spending our lives as Ladies of the House," Artemis said with disgust before turning her attention outside of the window.
If there was one thing she hated, it was her freedom to be taken away. Only a little of it had been left for a short time. The moment she would agree to the proposal and marry, she would end up trapped in her worst nightmare. Leaving out a sigh, she noticed a sea eagle passing by, and her mind returned to her trips and adventures.
Before the accident, before the world that she knew crumbled into pieces.
Unknown to her though, her adventures were far from over.
All that was required was some faith and, of course, rum!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ceremony started rather soon after the two sisters arrived, and it was not long before the man of honour, James Norrington was officially Commodore. However, the celebrations had just begun, and our two heroines couldn't be in any worse place. Under the hot sun and with the asphyxiating corsets, they were trying their best to breathe while fanning themselves like crazy.
"I don't think I will be able to stay conscious for long" Artemis complained as bids of sweat were visible on her forehead.
"Me neither" Elizabeth replied, in the same situation as her sister.
"I have an idea!" the redhead suddenly said as she started to look around and when she found the area clear; she put her hand into her bra and pulled out a small dagger!
"Is that a dagger?!" her sister exclaimed, surprised, her voice coming a little louder than she expected.
Artemis placed her free hand over the mouth of the younger woman to stop her before looking around to check if anyone had heard them. "A breast dagger", she corrected her.
She then pulled her hand back and tried her best to find those pestering corset strings before trying her best to use the little blade and cut them. It took a few tries, but after much work, she was successful. She could not cut all of them, but a few did help regulate her breathing.
She took a deep breath, and a smile formed on her face as she was finally able to breathe properly. She turned her attention to her sister and motioned for her to turn around so she could free her. However, before the two of them could move, they heard footsteps. Panicking, Artemis quickly put the dagger between her breasts and started fanning herself while saying, 'Nothing is happening here.'
"Elizabeth, may I have a word with you?" a deep voice said. The two girls came face to face with James Norrington, who had extended his hand for her to take.
"Of course," the brunette quickly replied and accepted his hand while ignoring the shocked woman, who looked at him in disbelief.
As her fiance gently took her away, Elizabeth turned her head and silently mouthed an apology to her sister. Artemis, of course, said nothing but could not help but sense that odd sensation deep within her guts.
Something had been wrong since she had woken up, but she had chosen not to focus on it. Having no one else to talk to or anything else to do left her with no choice but to acknowledge it.
A few minutes passed, and Elizabeth had yet to return.
This could be normal any other day, but Artemis started to feel uneasy. Her guts were telling her to move,e and almost out of her control, she started to walk with no specific target in mind. She had a very bad feeling,g and it only seemed to intensify as she kept walking. Eventually, close to the pier, she took notice of something falling from high and landing straight into the sparkling blue waters of the Caribbean.
Then, James' voice was heard and it made Artemis' blood run cold.
"Elizabeth!"
Without losing any second, Artemis picked up her dress and made her way towards the harbour, ignoring the suspicious strong wind that had started or how her stomach had turned to the point she was sure she would puke if she dared to stand still.
Never tried this before. :)
Here are my answers:
My favorite lesser known fic is Rose in the Caribbean. (Jack Sparrow x Rose deWitt Bukater, rated T) It’s a crossover with Titanic which could explain why it’s less popular than my other fics, but I was always very happy with how it turned out, and the overall themes of forgiveness and to define who is good/evil. Plus sober!Jack Sparrow was a treat to write!
No I don't think I have made myself upset. I tend to write happy endings that put a smile on my face. :)
My hardest scenes are all from Thranduil's Shadow. It's a Silmarillion-based fic (rated M) and the research I've done for it is massive, mostly because I needed to explain inconsistencies I've found in the canon material...
Ohh, hard one... I had a lot of fun writing Halbrand in my short fic Perfect Balance of Darkness and Light (M) but I also really enjoyed fleshing out my OC Kat in Cat of the Fellowship (T). And the OC/Reader in my short Thranduil-fic The Librarian and the Elvenking (T) was also so nice to write!
No, I generally put on the LOTR-soundtrack or sometimes the Vikings soundtrack or something else fantasy-ish. :)
Here are 3 fics I would like to recommend:
First of all I'd like to share my most recent completed fic: Boromir x Reader. It's 18K words so a pretty fast read. Hurt/comfort trope, works with canon even though Boromir survives in it. :) Bonus chapter is Explicit smut, the rest T-rated.
This fic I always recommend this time of year, it's a Halloween themed Thranduil and child!Legolas fluffy gen fic. :)
Finally I'll recommend my ongoing Matched From Birth, it's a Legolas x OC and Thranduil x OC, M-rated, with family secrets, secret Tolkien characters, drama, falling in love, pining, and how to make a relationship work. It's a WiP but almost completed, usually updates Sundays.
Happy Monday, Fellowship! 💜
Here at Fellowship of the Fics, we want to get to know you as authors, just as we want to hear about your stories! Each month we will have five selected questions that we encourage you to answer as a way to help promote yourself!
Simply reblog this post and answer the questions provided. This is about YOU and YOUR creations! We encourage self-bragging as much as possible!
Here are the questions for October 2023!
What's your favorite story you've written that doesn't gain a lot of attention?
Have you ever upset yourself with your own writing? Why?
What has been the hardest scene to write for [choose your fic]?
What character for [choose your fic] was your favorite to write?
Do you have specific playlists for writing fics?
Now, share up to 3 of your fics you’d like to recommend to us and your followers!
Since you're asking for prompts,I was envisioning Will confessing to the reader in the same way George confessed to Charlotte in Queen Charlotte (the "my heart calls your name" confession) and thought it would suit Will really well!! Like maybe reader puts herself in danger by trying to save Will or something idk
Pairing: Will Turner x Reader Rating || Genres || Warnings: T. Romance. None. A/N: I just ADORE Will Turner so much :3 and I love Charlotte the series as well so this was the PERFECT blend! Sorry for any mistakes folks! Also If you read this please please tell me what you think!!!
Your head was pounding. And not from drinking too much ale. You were sure of it.
Blinking your eyes, you were met with an unfamiliar ceiling. Normally you would wake in a hammock onboard the Black Pearl, with the gentle sway of the ship welcoming you to another day.
But everything was steady and there was no creaking or moaning of the ship as it sailed.
Your eyes blinked once more, to clear them from any remaining sleep. Slowly your brain began to recall the last thing you remembered.
Davy Jone's crew.
A fight on an island.
Fleeing to the Black Pearl.
The Kraken attacking the ship.
The entire crew fighting valiantly to save themselves and their ship.
Huge tentacles rising from the mysterious depths of the waters you had traveled for so long.
Ready to kill.
To drag someone to a watery grave.
To drag Will to his doom.
Will!
You sat up with a loud gasp, eyes frantically darting from one end of the unfamiliar room to the other before finally landing on a familiar figure that had only just stepped into the room.
Will Turner stood at the threshold, holding a bowl of what could only be food. The scent of it wafted through the air and your stomach grumbled in protest at being denied nourishment.
Yet you could not move. Could only stare at the man as he stood before you.
"I see I managed to save you then." You finally said, feeling a little uncomfortable under his gaze. He was looking at you as if you were the very moon that hung in the sky. Which was utterly ridiculous because that was how he saw Elizabeth.
"And that we managed to escape in one piece." You raised a hand to your head, only to be greeted by a bandage wrapped around the entirety of it. A slight twinge of pain against your left temple made you aware of where exactly your injury was. "So, what did I miss? After I passed out?"
Whatever emotional turmoil Will had been battling he pushed it aside in favor of walking forward and handing the bowl to you. As you began to spoon the watery broth to your mouth, he pulled up a chair to sit beside your bed.
"After you passed out, we all piled into the lifeboats. I managed to haul you in as well." He paused almost looking at you expectantly. You raised an eyebrow at him. "And you expect me to thank you for saving me?" You asked in a dry tone, to which he rolled his eyes before continuing.
"Elizabeth was the last of us to get on. But Jack.........Jack stayed. To act as diversion for the kraken."
Your eyes widened and you dropped your spoon into your nearly empty bowl. "He...what?" You whispered, sounding just as in disbelief as you felt. Sorrow passed over Will's feature as he nodded gravely. "Jack's dead, Y/n." He confirmed, to which you took a shuddering breath and closed your eyes, before slowly falling back against the wall behind you.
The both of you sat in silence, with Will reaching out to gently and almost hesitantly placing a hand on top of yours as a sign of comfort. "I'm sorry, y/n. I knew you were close." Tears pricked your eyes but you didn't let them fall. Though you did give a small nod. "As close as a person can be with someone who took them under their protection."
That had been the extent of your relationship with Jack. Your families were old friends, and even related by blood somewhere down the line. And when you had decided to travel the seas as a pirate, Jack had been the one who agreed to let you sail with him. Not many pirates were happy having a female presence onboard, but you had proved yourself enough times that it no longer bothered them.
You had been with Jack through thick and thin. Through fire and water. You had been the only one on his side, along with Gibbs, when Barbossa had mutinied against him.
If it weren't for Jack, you wouldn't have realized your dream of becoming a pirate. And if it hadn't been for Jack, you would never have met Will Turner.
When you had first met Will, him and Jack had just arrived at Tortuga to look for a ship to go after Will's beloved Elizabeth. You had been slightly mistrustful towards him at first, and also a little jealous since Jack seemed to be spending all his time with him. But given how easily Will had befriended the rest of the crew, despite his own mistrust of pirates, you had taken to forming an unlikely acquaintanceship.
You were the best swords woman of your age, and it showed when you would take to the deck and practice every single day.
————————–
Then one day, your sword clashed with Will's.
Your eyes met over the joined blades, gauging the silent question in his. A smirk was your response before you stepped to the side and raised your sword in response.
And so a battle of wits and skill began.
Your swords clashed, your feet danced, your gazes never wavered and neither did your determination.
The entire deck was your practice ground, and the rest of the crew had gotten well out of the way when they had seen the both of you begin to duel. The both of you used every prop to gain the upper hand. But never once did either of you try a dirty trick. And while there had been a sense of pride behind each fell of your swords, slowly they began to grow playful. As did your words.
Back and forth, back and forth. With your swords and with your teasing insults and quips. Smiled full of passion and energy playing about your lips as you both danced to a tune only you could here.
It finally stopped when Jack called out to you. Neither of you yielded, or allowed the other to gain the upper hand. So, with sweat lining your brows and barely able to get a word out with how you both panted for breath, you were only able to smile at one another and say.
"To be continued good sir?" You had said in a slightly mocking yet playful tone to which he had grinned and given you a little bow before speaking.
"As the lady wishes."
But you never did pick back up on the match.
Instead the both of you would simply find each other and talk. He spoke of his life growing up as an orphan, with no money and no family. You had spoken of your own struggles, and slowly, without you realizing, in the weeks that it took you to finally catch up to the Black Pearl, you were made aware of your true feelings for Will.
You would watch him as he interacted with the rest of the crew, and on more then one occasion Jack had caught you simply smiling at him. He had tried to discourage you, telling you of who Will really loved and how nothing could be done about it.
Especially not when he was in love with Elizabeth.
You knew of the consequences, but you simply enjoyed his company too much to just stop spending time with him. And while you knew you were setting yourself up for a lot of heartache, it didn't stop you from forming a companionship with Will.
Although that too came to an abrupt and almost cruel end.
To cut a long story short, Elizabeth was rescued and Barbossa was defeated. Jack had his ship and his crew.
And Will returned home to marry Elizabeth.
Whatever friendship had been blossoming between the both of you had fizzled out the moment Elizabeth had been rescued. And though you knew you were setting yourself up for heartbreak, you did not comprehend just how much it would hurt. How his lack of presence would effect you. He hadn't even offered a proper goodbye when he had left. You had thought that perhaps as a friend he would do you the courtesy, but it was not so.
He never looked back at you.
Not once.
————————–
And so you decided to put him out of your mind. But never your heart. You couldn't put him out of your heart and it only made you miss him more.
So when he returned, this time for the purpose of saving Elizabeth once more, you were cold towards him. Cold and distant, even when he had approached you to speak with you. Your heart had cursed you for not speaking with him, but you were still too hurt over his dismissal of you the last time that you had no desire to forgive him.
All that vanished though, when Davy Jones appeared and agreed to take Will aboard the Flying Dutchman. You knew it was Jack's doing, that he had a plan in place, but that didn't stop you from stepping forward and volunteering to go along with him.
Out of love? Out of desperation? Out of your compulsion to protect the people you cared about? You did not know.
Jack had tried to protest, but Davy Jones accepted.
And so you found yourself standing beside Will, watching as the Black Pearl sailed away, leaving you onboard a ship of dangerous pirates, and a man who did not know how much you loved him.
At every turn, you tried your best to help him. You had learned long ago when to keep your head down and simply follow orders. Will was not a pirate. He picked up every chance he could to fight back. And when he discovered his father was one of the crew members, you had comforted him. And when he had been punished for his mistake with lashings, you had been the one to tend to him, cleaning his wounds and wiping away the blood. You had held his hand as he twitched from the pain, had stroked his hair when he needed a comforting touch.
Your mind screamed at you, at how you were setting yourself for heartbreak once more. But your heart rejoiced. You knew he was doing whatever he was to help Elizabeth, to save her, but you couldn't help it. All those feelings you had buried came rushing back to the top.
Your escape from the Flying Dutchman as well as the Kraken was pure luck. However, by your second encounter with the Kraken, when it came after Jack, your luck had run out.
You had been trying your best to avoid the lashing tentacles, as they grabbed man after man and threw them into the sea. You had successfully avoided capture, but only barely. Your eyes had frantically searched the deck, looking for a way to avoid yet another tentacle when you had spotted Will.
With a tentacle gliding his way to swipe him off his feet and into the water below.
You had screamed his name, had felt yourself leap into action. You ran, throwing yourself forward to push him out of the way. And you succeeded. Only for the tentacle, meant for Will, to hit your body with a force that had your teeth rattling and for you to go flying.
A flash of pain was all you felt at the side of your head. A voice calling out your name in utter alarm and despair was all you remembered.
And then darkness.
————————–
Presently, you blinked away your tears as you set aside the bowl and looked around. It was the first time that you noticed you were in some sort of bed built into the wooden walls. The air smelled heavy and musty. Familiar even.
"Are we at Tia Delma's hideout?" You asked, to which you received a nod in response. "How many of us survived?" Will pursed his lips at her question, and you knew the answer could not be good. "Only a few. Gibbs made it. As did the both of us. And Elizabeth." Of course she did, you thought to yourself.
Wanting to change the subject you raised a hand to your head to press your fingers tenderly against your covered temple. "How long have I been asleep?" The thinning of Will's lips told you just how displeased he was with the answer he gave. "Three days. You were barely alive when we reached Tia Delma. She took one look at you and took you to this room. Working on you for hours before finally letting me in to see you." He admitted, sounding almost angry at the woman.
"Remind me to thank her later." You said with a small smile, as you leaned your head back against the wall and sighed. Your hand came up to fiddle with the skull and cross gold necklace that rested at your throat. "I can't believe he's gone." You whispered, feeling the loss of your friend deeply.
"Elizabeth is in pieces because of it."
You blinked. "Why would she be in pieces over Jack's death?" You asked. You had suspicions that the girl never really liked Jack. There was always some sort tension between the both of them.
"Because she loved him."
Will's words had you blinking in utter surprise.
"What?"
He frowned at the confusion on your face. "I thought you knew?" You rolled your eyes. "Oh yes Will, Elizabeth and I sit together for tea and gossip about our love lives." The statement did make him crack a little smile before he continued.
"Well now you know. Elizabeth loved Jack."
"But I thought you loved her. Weren't you going to marry her?" You asked, allowing your curiosity to show. With all that had happened, neither of you had been able to properly sit and speak. Not when your lives had been in constant danger by either cannibals, or mad pirates or mythical creatures or the Company.
So many people were out to kill all of you.
"I was. I thought I loved her. But I realized, when we got back home, that it was nothing but infatuation. She was the one who rescued me when I was found adrift. And we grew up together. So, I allowed my boyhood feelings to grow into something that was never meant to be." He paused for a moment. "Those feelings are all gone now. And I was glad she found someone to love. For a little while." He added sadly, glancing in the direction the door where Elizabeth was probably sitting beyond. You did too, almost expecting Jack to come swaggering in with his usual land-legs and a bottle of ale in his hand.
"I never expected Jack of all people to die. He seemed almost immortal." You admitted.
"Well he proved he was a mortal man and met his doom. And you would've followed him too, if Tia Delma hadn't been here." You glanced at him curiously, not understanding the tone of his voice. He was glaring at you, his eyes almost stormy. "How could you be so reckless? What you did was extremely dangerous, even for you Y/n."
"You mean saving your life?" A frown creased your brow. "I did what I did to save you Will. And if that is a crime then take me to the brig." You snapped with a roll of your eyes. "And aren't people usually grateful to those who save them?"
He glared at you. "Not at the expense of their own life. The Company is taking over the seas, we need every good pirate we can get."
Anger coursed through your veins. "Oh so thats why you were worried about me? Because you didn't want to loose a good pirate. Its all about strategy with you isn't it?" All your past hurt and heartache was beginning to simmer under the surface, and if you weren't careful you would probably say something you would regret. But you didn't care.
His nostrils flared. "How could you think its simply because of that? Do you truly believe I am that shallow?" He spoke angrily to which you gave a mocking nod. "Of course I do. I mean why else would you ignore me once you gained my friendship?"
"I never-"
But you cut him off. "I thought we were friends Will. But the moment you rescued Elizabeth you ignored me as if you never knew me. As if we didn't spend weeks in each other's company. And then you came back, and I was there with you on the Dutchman, but as soon as you saw Elizabeth, once more you pushed me aside. I am not something you can use whenever you desire before putting it aside to gather dust. And even when I save your life, when I rescue you, you say such things to me?" Your voice had slowly started to rise in octave with each passing word. It was a good thing no one was within earshot to hear you.
Will looked angry with every word that came out of your mouth. "You put yourself in grave danger, Y/n. You always have no regard for your own life or your own safety and it worries me."
"And why should that bother you? Or even worry you for that matter. What am I to you?"
"I only wish to help you Y/n. To protect you-" He reached out with his hand almost as if he were about to touch you but stopped.
You turned your head away. "I did not ask for your protection Will, I do not need it. Why would you wish to protect me?"
"Because-" But you didn't allow him to finish.
"Is it because you think of me as some damsel in distress?" He shook his head.
"No Y/n-" Once again he was interrupted from saying his piece.
"Or you do not believe me to be capable of doing anything."
His voice was almost pleading, imploring you to listen to him. "Y/n-"
But you barely heard him, allowing your hurt and pain to blind you as you spoke. "Why? Why do you wish to protect me so?"
"Because I love you!"
His deceleration came out in a shout. One that echoed in your ears and had your mouth parting in utter surprise, while you stared at him in utter disbelief.
For his part, Will had stood from his chair, hands buried in his hair as he began to pace the length of the small room, still speaking in an almost frenzied and desperate manner.
"From the mo-" His voice broke as he met your gaze. "From the moment I saw you." Suddenly he was sitting in front of you on the bed, clutching at your hand in an almost desperate manner as he continued. "I have loved you from the very second I saw you." His words washed over you like a warm ocean breeze.
"I love you desperately Y/n." His voice was trembling, every word sounding almost broken as he spoke. "My heart calls your name. And I cannot loose you. I cannot." With each word his hands raised to cup your face, only to bring you forward and press your lips to his in a desperate kiss.
And you returned it.
You felt your heart heal and break at the same time as he brushed a hand against your bandages. Pulling back from the kiss, he rested his forehead against your own. "I cannot do this without you, Y/n." He admitted to which you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and embraced him with all your strength, hoping to pour all of your love for him in that one simple gesture. "I suppose it is a good thing I love you as well then." You whispered against his neck, to which he let out a small slightly tearful laugh. "I am aware of that. Given how you whispered it to me when you were slipping in and out of consciousness."
You pulled back, staring at wide eyed at his grinning face. "What?!"
“Don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me.” He gently brushed his knuckles against your cheek, a gesture that made you blush. Your hand lifted to trace along the side of his face, enjoying how he closed his eyes, as if to savour your touch.
“I will never leave you Will. Just as long as you promise to never leave me.” You said, still stroking his face.
He nodded in response. “I promise.” His hand found the back of your head, urging you forward to close the remaining distance between the both of you.
This time the kiss lasted longer then just a few seconds.
My favorite part of Oh Captain, My Captain is Jack realizing he cares. He's one of those characters that always seems to be noticing things about other people. Of course, more often than not, he's tucking things away so he can use them against his friends/enemies. And then there's Shuǐ. He uses the things he notices about her to get closer to her, to commiserate, to bond. Because he cares.
And I love Shuǐ's slow realization that Jack cares, too. Nobody has cared about her for her whole life, except Jia, and she still overlooks some parts of Shuǐ (granted, Shuǐ doesn't tell her everything). Then there's Jack, the self-proclaimed "I don't care" guy, blatantly caring about her. (Maybe for all the wrong reasons, but who is she to complain?)
If nobody else will care about them, they'll care about each other.
Captain of Dutchman
I will remember that day forever, everyone fighting eachother, my dad was fighting with William Turner when Jack yelled to get my father's attention. He turned to face Jack and saw him with knife and his heart. Father's face was now showing scared face. He knew he will die so he put his sword into William Turner's heart. Bill Turner attacked my father, but while they were fighting each other dad haven't see Jack and Elizabeth making Will to stab my father's heart.
"FATHER THEY HAVE YOUR HEART!!" I yelled and started running towards my father.
Suddenly my father looked at me with tears in his eyes and I saw William who stabbed his heart and died.
"NOO!! FATHER!!!"
I ran to him but all I could hear before he fall from ship was him saying Calypso's name. I fell on my knees and saw Jack and Elizabeth who went back to there ship. Dutchman's crew started walking towards William.
"HE WON'T BE A CAPTAIN!! TAKE MY HEART!! DUTCHMAN MUST HAVE A CAPTAIN!!" I yelled.
Macus looked at me with sad face.
"You are 14 Koko, you can't be a captain" he said.
"I WON'T HAVE HIM AS CAPTAIN!!"
Macus looked towards William and I saw them putting his heart in chest.
"You betrayed my father...." I whispered to Macus with tears.
"The Dutchman must have a captain, Koko"
Ship started going up again and i just left the ship.
"William Turner you will be cursed for the rest of your life, I can promise you that".
"Captain Barbossa!!! I NEED TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOU!! IM CARINA'S FRIEND AND IT WOULD BE LOVELY IF YOU COULD TALK TO ME BECAUSE YOUR DAUGHTER WILL DO SOMETHING STUPID AND I NEED YOUR HELP!!" I yelled trying to find Captain.
"Let's talk than missy!! Tell me does Sparrow have to do something with this?" A voice came from helm.
I looked up and saw him standing there. I walked to him so we can speak without shouting.
"unfortunately my captain, Jack has something to do with Carina. Carina is on her adventure with William's and Elizabeth's son Henry and they are on there way to find Poseidon's trident. Spanish captain wants to kill Jack and Carina is near Jack which means death. Carina is on this adventure because she thinks her father left her a book to unravel the mystery of where she came from, and discover who she was truly meant to be. I know you think that it's better for her to doesn't know about you but this adventure will take her life if you don't help me captain".
"Salazar....." old captain said.
"Yeah well I need you to help me save your daughter because she will kill herself and she is my only family I have left!!"
"Do you know the name of Jack's ship? Where did you see Carina last??"
"I don't know Jack's ship but I know how to get us to him" I said and took Jack's compass from my coat.
"As for Carina is was chased by soldiers, she was called a witch"
I opened a compass so we can get direction. It gave east
"It looks like we have a direction captain"
Barbossa looked at compass and saw east.
"GET YOUR DIRTY ASSES TO WORK YOU STUPID SEA DOGS!! WE HAVE A DIRECTION GO EAST!!!" Barbossa yelled.
"What would be your name missy??"
"Koko, Koko Jones captain" I said.
Chapter 4: The brig.
Rosemary's POV
By the time I woke up I lay washed up on the beach, the sun was already shining bright.
I coughed up water I had swallowed and stood up. Looking at the port.
The Black Pearl was long gone. And I cursed under my breath.
'Shit shit shit they got Lizzy'
I ran up to the house but there was no one there. Only the servants were so happy to see me. But I waved them off and ran back to the port to see Will standing in front of Norrington and Mr. Swann.
'Mr. SWANN' I let out a huge sob and ran straight into his arms.
Everyone stood around me while I was sobbing against him.
'Th...They... They have taken.. Lizzy' I brought out in sobs and an enormous ugly cry,.
'We know Rose' Mr. Swann said and he rubbed my back.
'Are you all right Rose you're soaking! Where have you been'
I couldn't even catch my breath but I told them everything as soon as I calmed down enough.
'They've taken her.. with them. And I was stupid enough to want to fight with Barbossa so they threw me overboard' I hiccupped
'I wish they kept me not her' I said crying again.
'You're not the only one' I heard Norrington say as he was busy planning a voyage probably to save Elizabeth.
'Excuse me?!' I stood up. Throwing the jacket Will gave me off my shoulders standing in front of him in only my nightgown.
'Where were you when we both got kidnapped.
I STOOD BY HER SIDE JAMES! Where the fuck were you!' I cursed at him. Slapping him across the face.
Will pulled me off him.
'Let’s go Rose. He's not worth our time' Will said as he dragged me away from the port towards my shop. With a cursing me who was willing to fight Norrington over everything he had.
When we were in my shop I walked to the back to get more comfortable and dry clothes for myself.
Will explained that he had heard Jack Sparrow had mentioned the Black Pearl and probably knew more about it.
And he could maybe even lead us toward the Black Pearl and save Elizabeth.
While Will was explaining I was dressing myself in a pair of pants and a long blouse with puffy sleeves. And a brown under-bust corset. Which I actually synced myself.
And a pair of boots.
I walked out of the back of the store towards Will.
Who looked at me with his eyebrows raised.
'This is going to cause a fuzz you know that right?
'Yeah I know that's why I have this. ' I pulled out a dark green loose dress and threw it over my head. I synced myself but not as tight. So you would not see any lines of my pants or corset on it.
'I made this from cheap but good-looking fabric. I could lose it at any time and not even cry about it.' I said with a wink to Will.
'Let’s go! To the brig' I said while closing down my shop.
General POV
Will and Rose were off to the brig.
When wanting to enter they were stopped by a guard.
'What's your business here?' he said with a bit of fear in his voice.
'Nothing that you need to know about' Rose snapped back at him as she pushed him to the side and walked down the stairs of the brig.
Will followed closely behind her.
'I never knew you could be so scary when you want something Rose' Will chuckled at her.
When they entered the cellblock Rose went straight toward the cell where Jack was held.
'You Sparrow!' Will shot at him. Will passed by Rose in a matter of a second.
Well well, Rose thought to herself. Will wants this just as much as I do. Rose let out a small smirk.
'aye,' he simply replied while laying in the little bit of hay on the floor.
'You familiar with the Black Pearl?' Rose asked him while coming from behind Will.
She was looking him straight in the eye.
' Oh Rosemary' Jack said with a soft grin on his face when he crawled up from the ground to stand against the bars of his cell.
Rose rolled her eyes at him.
'Well. Where does she make berth?' Will asked
'Where does it make berth? Have you not heard of the stories?' Jack asked.
Both Rose and Will looked puzzled at Jack. To which he rolled his eyes.
'Captain Barbossa and his crew of miscreants sail from the dreaded Isla de Muerta.' Jack said mockingly.
'It's an island that cannot be found, except for those who already know where it is.'
'The ship's real enough.' Will said.
'Of course it’s real Will. I've been bloody on it remember' Rose said with her arms crossed still not looking pleased with this conversation.
'Therefore ' Will continued his sentence.
'its anchorage must be a real place. Where is it?'
'Why ask me?' Jack asked while looking at his dirty fingers like he just had a manicure.
'Because you're a pirate' Will said almost with a bit of shame in his voice.
'And you want to turn pirate yourself. Is that it?' Jack asked still looking at his fingers.
Will pushed against the bars, his face just a few inches away from Jack's face. 'Never!'
Which made Jack look at Rosemary
'What about you love~ ' he said with a small smile on his face.
'You're not wearing such a dress without a plan. I can see your boots you know
That made Rose look down seeing them wearing knee-high boots under a dress. Wasn't maybe the smartest option she could have thought of.
So she rolled her eyes.
'They took Miss Swan.' Will said suddenly
Which made the attention Jack had on Rose turn back to Will.
'So it is that you found a girl.' He said with a smile walking back to the bars.
'I see. Well if you're intending to brave all hasten to her rescue, and so win fair lady's heart, you'll have to do it alone, mate.
I see no profit in it for me.'
'We can get you out of here' Will said looking him straight in the eyes.
'Will' Rose said to will laying a hand on his shoulder.
'Are you sure?'
' You were the one thinking of that' Will snapped back at Rose.
'Well yes. But that's because I will do anything to get back Elizabeth.
Even if that will make me a wanted man. I mean woman. ' she corrected herself.
'Well well well' Jack said slyly.
'Miss Rivers found a soft spot for me~ '
'You wish. After you threw me around yesterday. You need to get a whole lot more nice. To be on my good side again.' She said without even looking at Jack.
'But back to breaking me out' Jack said
'How can you do it. The key's run off'
' I helped build these cells.' Will replies studying the locks and doors of the cell.
'These are half-pin barrel hinges. With the right leverage and the proper application of strength'
Will got a bench of the ground and put it between the bars.
'The door will lift free.'
'What's your name?' Jack asked suddenly.
'Will Turner' Will replied looking at Jack sheepishly
'That would be short for William, I imagine.
Good strong name. No doubt named for your father, eh?'
'Yes.' Will replied while still looking at Jack.
'Aha' Jack said while thinking his plans through.
'Well, Mr. Turner, I've changed me mind.
If you spring me, I swear, on pain of death, I shall take you to the Black pearl, and your bonny lass.
Do we have an accord?' Jack stook out his hand between the bars and waited for Will to shake it.
'Agreed' Will said and shook his hand.
' Agreed! Now get me out!' Jack said with a smirk.
And will pressed his foot on the wooden bench. Which made it lift up and lift the door right out of its pins. Will threw the door off him and helped Jack out of the cell.
'Ahem!' Rose coughed.
'Aren't you forgetting something?' Rose was pointing at herself.
'Rose you don't have to go with me.
It will be saver for you to stay here' Will said with a face of concern.
Which actually made him gain a slap across his face.
' Will you please shut the bloody hell up. Elizabeth is the most important person in my life. And its my fault she is all alone on that god forsaken piece of trash ship.'
Rose took a deep breath.
'Because I with my bad temper needed to get a sword and put it at Barbossa's throat. Which made them threw me overboard and left Lizzy all alone.' Rose breathed.
'So for the love of god help me out of this dress. And please tell me you got a plan.' Rose said with her hands up. And tied the string of the corset of her dress open. With which helped her pull it over her head.
Revealing her in the pants and blouse she had put on earlier.
'Well let's go' she motioned towards Jack and Will.
'Not without my effects' Jack said while running over to his stuff.
The Redhead of the Sea (Jack Sparrow X Fem!OC)
Summary:
Artemis Hazelstone Swann was the daughter of a merchant and was adopted by the governor of Port Royal, Weatherby Swann.
Her life had been simply the best, as she travelled the seas with her father and enjoyed the best thing in the world, freedom. However, a terrible accident takes everything from her and imprisons her to a boring life in Port Royal.
When her best friend and adopted sister, Elizabeth, is taken by pirates, she and her best friend, Will Turner, make a deal with the notorious pirate Jack Sparrow.
Chapter 1:
Port Royal, Governor's House - Morning
The House of the famous Governor of Port Royal was a building few could truly not notice. Its many rooms, expensive design, and garden stood out against the simplest and often poorest houses of the local island residents. Governor Wetherby Swan was a kind man known for his good work as Governor and his two beautiful daughters. One was adopted, but sometimes, he could not tell which of the two girls was the wildest.
It was an early morning for a very important day, that his adopted daughter was having trouble sleeping once again.
Dark curtains kept the morning sun rays out and allowed the room to remain as dark as possible, especially when one lived in such a tropical climate. The resident's sleep, however, did not last for long. A few knocks on the closed door made the redhead slowly wake up, but she did not attempt to move from the warm covers of her bed.
She could hear her visitor's footsteps, knowing full well that her maid had come to wake her up.
She managed to do just that by pulling the curtains to the side and allowing the morning sun to shine directly on the sleeping redhead woman. Her reaction was a low hiss and then a groan before she was forced to turn her body and head in hopes of getting back to sleep.
"Lady Artemis, please wake up. It is a special day today, and the Governor has already brought you a gift," the maid said, turning her body to face the second 'lady' of the household.
The woman sighed and pushed the covers off before raising her body to sit. Bright red hair was flying almost everywhere, and long bangs covered almost her whole face.
"What gift?" she asked with faint grogginess, a product of sleep. She started to push her hair out of her way and yawn as her maid brought forward the so-called 'gift'.
It was yet another fancy dress in nice blue with a white accessory she did not recognise but took notice of the endless strings left and right. Knowing too well that she would win something by commenting, she chose to say something else.
"Where is he, anyway?" she asked, talking about the man who had taken her in after she lost her original family.
"He said he would check on Miss Swan first and wishes you to meet him at her room."
The redhead sighed before standing up and heading towards the changing curtain at the side of her room. She stretched her body, feeling bones popping, which offered her a small, nice relief while she mentally prepared herself for the tedious routine that she should have been used to by now.
The maid quickly helped her get rid of her simple white nightgown and then helped her with the dress.
At first, Artemis did not fully focus on what her maid was doing, merely following her instructions as she was helped into the fancy prison of multiple expensive fabrics sewn together. Yet, her trail of thoughts was interrupted when she felt someone pulling her back, followed by a rather sharp pain forming in her chest. Her breathing was reduced out of the blue, and her eyes opened wide while a yelp of surprise escaped her lips.
She held on to a nearby chair for support, needing a moment to catch her breath, although that was a challenge in itself with whatever was restricting it in the first place. She managed to look above her shoulder and focus on her maid, who was holding the strings of some sort of bodice responsible for this new uncomfortable feeling.
"What... is that thing?" she asked as she tried her best to breathe.
"It is a corset, my lady. The fanciest thing in London; all women of high status wear it."
"Well, then, when those high-status women start falling like flies, we will see how many people fancy it," she replied as the woman finished tying the strings.
The maid didn't reply to her snarky comment; she was used to them by now. She simply pushed the young woman to sit on the chair as she started making her hair. She would always compliment her about the unique colour and push her to take better care of them, saying how many men would love it. However, Artemis only truly cared a little about it and was not in the mood to spend hours looking after them. If it was up to her, a simple brushing would be more than enough.
However, while she remained under the governor's care, she had to give up on her hopes of free hair and allow the assigned maid to style it according to each occasion.
After some time and a lot of patience, she was handed a small mirror. The fierce main was braided and pulled into a bun, with a layer of hair falling gracefully on her back, stopping a little after her shoulder in natural curls. Only a bang was loose, framing her face and covering her left eye.
"Thank you, Mary", she replied as she stood up, grabbed the white eye patch from her nightstand next to her bed and quickly put it above her left eye before tying it to the back of her head.
She had done it so many times over the years that she needed no help anymore. The maid never commented on it or offered to help, having been cleared from day one that the eye patch and the story behind it were off-limits.
Once Artemis was finished, she fixed the hair to ensure it covered her little personal accessory, and no one could truly see it unless they tried hard enough. She did not care about it, but the men of higher class and society did, and the Governor had advised her to hide it as much as possible to have a chance to attract a man to be her suitor.
"Of course, Lady Artemis," Mary said and bowed before exiting the room.
Artemis sighed, adjusted the matching small hat on her head, grabbed her blue fan and quickly placed something inside the dress, between her female upper parts, before exiting the room. She tried her best to ignore the pain from the corset and headed towards the door next to hers, which was wide open.
"Well, women in London must have learnt how not to breathe!" a voice said from the room, and Artemis chuckled slightly before entering.
The room, similar to hers only with white curtains, was occupied by three people: a young woman with beautiful blond hair that was curly at the edge and gently brown eyes, her maid who was behind the changing panel, and the governor of Port Royal, who was dressed in a fancy outfit accompanied by the white wig many men of his status wore at that era.
"Or they have already died from the lack of it," the redhead said, earning laughter from the woman behind the changing panel.
The Governor, hearing her voice, turned to face her, and a smile formed on his lips. Seeing her all ladylike and proper, he said, "Artemis, you look beautiful."
"Thank you, governor," she replied with as much mannerism as she could muster so early in the morning. She even bowed her head in respect and gratitude, not truly mattering what she thought of the dress. It was a gift, and the man in front of her had already done more than enough.
"Now, now ladies... Come along; we don't want to be late."
"We will be down in a second, Father," the blond said, and the Governor rolled his eyes before making his way towards the stairs, leaving the two girls alone.
As the man exited the room, the 17-year-old woman walked away from the changing panel. She was dressed in a similar dress in gold and crème, with her brown hair in a high ponytail, covered mostly by the hat.
"Ready, Ms Elizabeth Norrington?" Artemis joked, only to earn a punch in the forearm from the younger girl.
The maid smiled slightly before exiting the room, leaving the two women alone. Artemis did not even flinch at the hit and kept an amused smirk on her face, her single blue eye passively challenging the younger woman.
"You know it's not funny" Elizabeth replied before grabbing her matching fan and exiting her room, head held high.
Artemis couldn't help but let out a sigh and shake her head. She smiled faintly and quickly joined her before they started to climb down the stairs. Her blue eye quickly connected with the ones of a young, attractive man with brown hair and gentle brown eyes standing at the entrance; the governor standing next to him.
"Will!" Elizabeth exclaimed once she spotted him and raised her speed, not caring what her father had always said about how a lady was supposed to be walking down the stairs gracefully.
Artemis simply smiled and watched her, as she took her time to climb down.
"I had a dream about you... About the day we met," Elizabeth said as she finally stopped in front of the young man.
"I doubt it, Ms Swann."
"How many times must I tell you to call me Elizabeth?"
"One more, Ms Swann," Will said, not hesitating even once as her father was standing not so far away from them.
"Now, now, Elizabeth... Be thankful that this man has manners. However, our carriage is here, and it is time for us to depart," the Governor said before exiting the house, and Elizabeth was hot on his trail.
By then, Artemis had reached them, and she came to a halt next to Will. "Nicely done", Artemis joked as she slapped the back of his head in a friendly manner, already knowing the boy since both were little kids.
Of course, he did not react to her sarcasm or to the hit. Of course, that did not mean he would ignore the redhead he had long befriended all those years ago. "That hurt, you know," he exclaimed with a fake hurt expression, which amused the redhead.
Before she could say anything else, someone called her name.
"Artemis!" the Governor's voice was heard, and the red-haired woman rolled her eyes before starting to walk towards the carriage. "See you later, Will," she bid goodbye to her friend.
