Austin/Raj had their moments until deep in the second set, where M. Ebden/J. Peers started nailing their pace better to be able to nail the net game afterward. This marked Australia's second Men's Doubles gold medal after Todd Woodbridge/Mark Woodforde clinched it in Atlanta 1996, while completed M. Ebden's 2 Grand Slam Men's Doubles (and a Mixed Doubles title), as well as J. Peers' one title each (for both Men's and Mixed Doubles), with the latter winning his second Olympic medal (after Mixed Doubles with Ashleigh Barty in Tokyo 2020). The bronze medallist was another American pair in Taylor Fritz/Tommy Paul, who defeated Czechs Adam Pavlasek/Tomas Machac 6-3, 6-4 in a match played later due to T.  Yul Moldauer, miembro del equipo olímpico de gimnasia artística masculina de United States, está causando sensación en Corea del Sur por su herencia coreana.

Yul Moldauer nació en Seúl y fue adoptado por estadounidenses. Mientras transmitía las finales masculinas de aparatos de gimnasia artística, un locutor de KBS reveló que el nombre coreano de Yul es Kyung Tae, que anhela Corea y que el gimnasta está buscando a su hermana mayor biológica, que aún podría vivir en Corea.

K. Siniakova/T. Machac nailed their return games in the first set thanks to their timely poaches at the net, but Xinyu/Zhizhen utilized the open court well to break for the second set. It also came down to the deeper returns and the +1 volleys to add to their second serve issues, which played a significant role during the tie-breaker. As a result, the cleaner strike allowed the Czechs to commit 17 lesser unforced errors than the Chinese pair's 31, winning 4% more receiving points while creating 4 break points, even if they converted 50% of them and scored 13 less shot winners than the latter.

Furthermore, Katka/T. Machac also had the slight edge on their service games.
