Gojo is Sukuna's mirror but he is not his foil. Gojo being Sukuna's mirror shows most post chapters 222, more so in 236. The most obvious similarity is their strength; Ryomen Sukuna is the strongest sorcerer in history and Gojo Satoru is the strongest sorcerer of modern times.
Another thing is their hedonistic nature. Chapter 236 makes it more prominent in Gojo, in his desire to reach Sukuna, his satisfaction with dying to a worthy opponent, him "doing jujutsu for the kicks of it". It makes more sense narratively if you view it as Gege making him Sukuna's mirror. I see it as a great disservice to Gojo's character that disregards his desire to protect the youth and rebuild the jujutsu society.
(And no matter what people say the students aren't prepared for it, especially politics wise. The remaining elders will most likely fill the power vacuum left after the slaughter of the higher-ups while the students are busy exorcizing curses all over Japan. Gakuganji is a vital ally in that but his change is thanks to Yaga and we don't know the extent of political prowess of Utahime or Kusakabe. The only student with any knowledge of the conservative faction is Kamo. Again, no thanks to Gojo. It's clear he expected to be the one leading the political change as the Gojo clan head.)
Humanity is their ultimate difference. Sukuna has discarded his ease, he doesn't care about love or loneliness. Satoru on the other hand is burdened by it, his desire to form connections with others that he doesn't allow because of him viewing himself only through the prism of his strength, is what makes him want to connect with Sukuna (I still think the teach him love part is stupid and nothing will convince me otherwise 💀). It would be great if Gege showed his care for his students as an example of his humanity (Sukuna doesn't care for anyone - Gojo does) but Gege hates Gojo too much to do that.
Unlike Gojo, Yuuji is Sukuna's foil and in some instances (e.g. the Shibuya fight with Mahito) his mirror. They have opposing values, strengths and weaknesses. Sukuna's strength lies in his intelligence, his understanding of jujutsu and his techniques (interesting to note, like Sukuna Yuuji masters concepts he was explained on the first try like the black flash or imbuing items with curse energy). Yuuji's lies in his values and beliefs, he doesn't back down no matter what and will keep going even on broken legs. Sukuna preaches about the importance of having an overwhelming sense of self and disregard for others, which Yuuji directly opposes with his cog identity, the purpose of which was to protect others. Yuuji finds strength in his connections with others, whether they taught him (Todo, Gojo) or to carry on their wishes (Nanami, Higuruma).
Now that we have 248, I can confidently say Sukuna's ideals are weak. When someone weak is able to stand on his level just because of the strength of their beliefs, he finds it unnerving as it forces him to confront the lack of his own ideals. He says he loathed them as a human.
Yuuji's indomitable spirit is the reason he is Sukuna's equal and why he is the protagonist. Fight me about it <3333

I'm gonna be waiting for the full translation of 248 with a fake calm. Inside, there will be bite and kill energy.
Looking at the preliminary info, Sukuna straight-up admits he has no ambitions, which was all but outright-stated in 238. More than anything, this is why he's become so lame to me. How the fuck can you criticize someone else's choices for what they strive for (Yuji wanting to protect people, for instance), when you have nothing to work towards? Mans has no upward momentum, since he only cares about the present.

Gojo copers proved yet again to be the stupidest people in the fandom because how the fuck can you believe that Shoko would be able to heal Gojo who is missing both arms and lower part of his body when she couldn’t restore hana’s arm????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is one thing when you put yourself on the delusion but going against straight up facts is just stupid and sukuna is right when he says that using rct on someone else than yourself is less than half effective, (again Shoko couldn’t heal one full arm!)let the men rest gojo served his purpose in the story he never was a main character and never will be. Also why would gege bring back a character that he hated? Because you want it to? Let me remind you gege does not care what you think 🤣, if he actually listened to the fans the story would’ve been terrible.

I don't think Yuji will be revealed to be related to Sukuna in any way other than maybe Kenjaku infusing the fetus with spare parts. No reincarnation or anything like that. BUT. YES, NARRATIVE FOILS. We're finally seeing some development on Yuji & Sukuna's relationship. The diametrically-opposed souls...it's The Good Shit™.
something something sukuna being said to eat his twin brother in the womb to become stronger, something something yuji being the counterpart of what sukuna doesn't have, with an ideal he seeks and an invincible soul enforced by his immense physical abilities mirroring sukuna not having any grand ideal except to kill time 'til he dies and having an insanely powerful CT

hi! idk if you are serious about the ask game or not, but if you are then gojo or sukuna, please
I am!! I already did Gojou :D
the ask game
The original post was inspired by me analyzing Sukuna and making it about Yuuji so I am really glad to talk about him. I say some of Sukuna stuff in about Uraume
Sukuna is the representation of ultimate strength. Through his overwhelming sense of self and disregard for other he finds that strength. With Sukuna there is no question if it is him who defines his strength or his strength thet defines him. He is hedonistic and self absorbed focused only on his own desires.
His sense of self is what allows him to see and acknowledge his opponents, he entertains their ideals even if they are nothing but dying words to him. Sukuna himself has no ideals or grander goals, he values pleasure over his own life and so he tries to find entertainment before death. Sukuna belives in the dominance of the strong over the weak, he demands submission from those he deems weak.
Sukuna remains untouched by everyone except by Yuuji, the boy whose ideals directly oppose his. It is the way Yuuji reduces himself to a cog for the purpose of serving other while still growing stronger each days that defies Sukuna's ideas of what true strength is. Having to share a body for some time, Sukuna is forced to live through Yuuji's experience, forced to acknowledge the truth of Yuuji's convictions in ways he hasn't for anyone else. He acknowledges their strength, Yuuji's indomitable soul. That's why he wishes to slice them up, to prove once and for all that he is right.
The strongest curse in history caged by a teen boy with no prior knowledge of jujutsu. Boy, who outside of his inhuman strength has no special techniques, yet he is able to confine him in ways no one has been able to. There is also the thing of Sukuna replicating moves he saw only once (becoming a cursed object, destroying his brain to renew ce etc) but Yuuji does that too (black flash, imbuing objects with curse energy, he learns how to control his ce output so quickly that even Gojou comments on it).
I think if I wasn' t tired I'd find more ways to link them but I have a headache 😔 I'm sure there are more ways

Every day my shitpost bad ending theory about Yuji switching souls with Megumi becomes more real. Imagine, Megumi-In-Yuji's body looking on in horror as Yuji-In-Megumi/Sukuna's-body kills himself. Sukuna is screaming in Yuji's head all the while, and we get a recreation of this panel:
Tumblr media
I would not like this to be the actual ending, though. Imagine if Nobara was confirmed to be comatose, and she wakes up and asks if Megumi-in-Yuji's-body is really Itadori.

chapter 248 spoilers
I love that Sukuna finally voiced what I've been saying all this time. Yuuji has the strongest soul in JJK, no one compares. It was clear that Yuuji bothers Sukuna a lot and finally Sukuna explained why.
I really like how Gege is stressing that only Yuuji has a true connection to Sukuna, none of these other people matter to him.
People who don't care about anything but themselves or their immediate social group, really can't stand those who care, those who believe in something. Yuuji is the first true mirror Sukuna has ever encountered, one that reflects to Sukuna the hollowness of his soul.
Sukuna felt nothing when he killed Gojou because Gojou was as hollow as him. Gojou's ideals were only words, not followed through with anything and he abandoned them for the thrill of the fight with Sukuna. Kashimo never pretended to stand for anything and thus they also meant nothing to Sukuna.
Higuruma stood for something, Sukuna was there when he talked to Yuuji. Higuruma did get lost but in the end he remembered that he stood for something.
And Higuruma, like Yuuji, used to be a normie not so long ago. His progress is indeed impressive.
And look who Sukuna recalls when he feels sad about Higuruma dying (he's not there yet to acknowledge that he's sad he killed someone XD), he recalls Jougo. The last person he'd killed who actually stood for something.
I wish the fandom understood that the way that the themes of JJK go, Gojou could've never killed Sukuna. He was of the same ilk as Sukuna, equally hollow living only seeking his own entertainment, probably even more arrogant than Sukuna, but less talented and extremely reckless. And Gojou was partially in denial, he pretended that his ideals mattered to him, that they weren't a band-aid put on the gaping hole that was his soul.
Sukuna actually cares about killing Yuuji, he cares about getting rid of that mirror that exposes him to himself. Makes him see how lacking he is. None of the others showed him any of that. Gojou and Kashim fought him for the title of the strongest, Yorozu for a prestigious marriage. They all wanted the status associated with Sukuna.
And Yuuji never cared about that, he talked back to Sukuna, called him out on his bull shit. And to Yuuji strength is worthless in itself, it matters if it can be used to help someone.
There's a lot of people like Sukuna nowadays, you see them everywhere online. People who will go out of their way to mock others for caring about anything because they are unsettled by the mere motion that someone can be invested in something. And because it makes them feel bad. If they were truly fully content in their hedonistic and/or nihilistic existence they wouldn't care how others feel or what others do. Like them, Sukuna suspects that maybe the lives of those who care about something are more satisfying.
It took Yuuji for Sukuna to even realise that he could grow as a person.
I love how they mutually ruin each other's lives. Gege really intertwined them nicely.
