with exams coming, he's been so busy, and he assumed that you were just tired from studying

but he can feel guilty later. right now, he needs to focus on you getting well again, and not killing Crowley

(then, of course, he'll look for some legal statute or clause that he can threaten Crowley with so you're fed properly)

luckily, Ruggie and Jack are nearby to help you to the infirmary, so Leona can focus on hunting Crowley down like an animal

there are very few times where Leona is particularly grateful for his status, but this is one of them. just one word on how his family will be hearing about Crowley's neglect, and the old bastard is begging him for forgiveness

even after that, Leona still sends Ruggie with snacks and drinks to Ramshackle

Azul is the first at your side, asking you all sorts of questions, worried sick. Jade has to remind him to give you space to rest, since you look exhausted (had you always had those dark circles? how could Azul have not noticed?)

now, Azul and the tweels could easily find a way to pressure Crowley, but they know better than to trust him

from now on, you'll be eating in the Mostro Lounge, free of charge

🍓Hiiii. Skip the intro if this isn’t ur first rodeo and buckle up cowboys (and cowgirls, and cowtheys, and cows). There is a notable lack of third years and dorm leaders because!!! They get their own part rip. I will (eventually) add links to the other parts, but I have a lot of homework to catch up on from being sick all week so it has to wait :). -Okay so, I know we’re all wondering, how the hell do you get away with hiding your gender for so damn long?

-Firstly, those ceremonial robes do great at hiding the figure. The only tell would maybe be your hair, but feminine men aren’t unwelcome at Nightraven College, so you mostly get a few questioning stares and that’s it.

-Secondly, Crowley wants to save his own fucking ass. He already has to hide from the press that he has a MAGICLESS student from ANOTHER DIMENSION here, he doesn’t need the fact that you are a woman ALSO on his plate. So, obviously, he helps you hide your gender from others.

-Grim knows, of course, and he keeps his mouth shut for a few yummy cans of tuna (and threats of being expelled from Crowley <3)

-Even when you were just a janitor, he couldn’t have the rumor that he put a “helpless” young woman to work. (Like it wouldn’t be expected.)

-So how do you two do it?

-Baggy ass uniform. Crowley gave you at least three sizes too big.

-Your figure is completely hidden. Sure, you look completely homeless, but at least you’re hidden.

-For your voice, you simply deepen it. After some point, you blackmail Crowley into giving you a potion to help with it, since it's so taxing on your voice. (Or maybe your voice is naturally deep!)

-Sam provides you (for an unfairly pretty penny (not too different from your original world…)) any feminine hygiene products you might need.

-Honestly, you’re set for being cared for, but it’s the adjustment period that’s the hardest part. 

-Truly, it’s very jarring to suddenly be thrown into both a magical world and be isolated in a man's world with nowhere to hide.

-At least in your world you had other women who could understand your struggles. Here though? You’re completely alone.

-You notice how… messy some of these guys could be. How some of them smell… really rancid. -How rough they were with you and each other.

-Honestly, it’s kinda eye-opening. The way men show affection to each other is oddly refreshing to watch and experience!

-Ace and Deuce specifically are a good… trial run.

-That’s not what we’re here to talk about though…

-For the most part, it's incredibly easy to hide yourself for the first while on campus. Everyone on campus is so self-absorbed that they don’t bother questioning you.

-Your only real risk factor is Savannaclaw, but it's easy to avoid those guys (minus Jack, of course).

-However, you can only hide your gender for so long… It’s mentally draining to keep up this facade all the time around people you care about.

-So… how do they find out?

Ruggie

-Ruggie is… unique when compared to Jack. 

-The three beastmen in the cast are all oddballs in this case, but I feel Ruggie is the oddest.

-See, Ruggie finds out nearly immediately. I’m talking like… first day when you and Grim set the school on fire immediately.

-It’s my personal belief that he has the strongest nose between Leona, himself, and Jack so he doesn’t have to be close to smell that something is different about you.

-Now he wasn’t sure for sure. The smell of a person, especially humans, has a lot of factors playing in them. Plus the fact that you’re… not exactly a normal member of Twisted Wonderland’s Society.

-But he had a hunch. That hunch was only confirmed when he decided to steal your sandwich for Leona. 

-He got a nice big ol’ whiff of your smell, and he won’t lie and say it didn’t throw him off, for a second. He almost lost control of his spell on you.

-Luckily he didn’t, he got his sandwich and got away, but it left him with a lot to think about.

-(Bunni interjecting opinion here, my bad) See, Ruggie isn’t exactly afraid of the women in his cackle. They’re civilized people, after all, they’re not out there beating on every guy they see, but they are kind of intimidating.

-He was raised to respect and fear women by his granny, and he’s never really had anything that directly opposed that moral code impeded in him.

-That was until you started to get a little too involved in sniffing Leona and him out for injuring other students.

-Why couldn’t you keep that stupid little nose of yours where it belongs, huh? You’re making more trouble than it’s worth.

-Tries a ton of different ways to scare you off for your own good, but you are damn stubborn and Ruggie both hates and admires you for it.

-You figure he and Leona both know you’re a girl. Hell, Leona outright implies it every time he sees you (thank god your friends of choice are morons). 

-Ruggie though? He looks at you weirdly. You can’t be sure, but he’s a bit more cautious around you. Careful he doesn’t hurt you, but also sure to give you a spook or two when he needs.

-It’s all so odd.

-It’s not till Leona overblots that both of you get your closure. 

-Both you and Ruggie are left alone to recover after your friends leave and Leona’s family drags him away for forced bonding time.

-He can’t help but test the waters.

-“Yer weird y’know.”

“Gee, thanks. That’s how you talk to the guy who saved your life earlier.”

“Hey, that’s how I talk to everyone. Don’t matter if you saved my life or not.”

“Whatever. What's so weird about me then.”

“Why’re ya hidin’ who ya really are.”

“I don’t follow.”

“Yeah, ya do, yer the one who was insistent on that gym shirt that’s clearly three times yer size.”

“…

…..

…Fiiiiine. You got me.”

-He’s smug about it for the longest time too. Constantly cracking jokes and poking fun at you.

-Honestly, it's the start of a really cute friendship! 

-You two are far more chill and friendly after Leona’s overblot. So much so that Grim, Ace, and Deuce call it into question, but he won’t tell if you don’t.

-Besides, you need a good friend to hang around where you don’t have to constantly hide who you are all the time.

-He’s the chill presence that you need on campus, and he’ll keep his mouth shut with no problem. (So long as you keep providing him that sweet, free lunch).

Jade

-He doesn’t think you’re too good at keeping secrets.

-Unlike the beast men, he doesn’t have an amazing nose. In fact, Jade would say his smelling ability is rather lackluster compared to Floyd or Azul. 

-However, he has a crazy scary intuition.

-He doesn’t know right away, of course. He doesn’t have x-ray vision to see through your baggy uniform.

-What gives it away for Jade is your mannerisms. The way you react to different things your more… masculine peers do or say. The discomfort on your face with the more touchy-feely students on campus.

-To our lovely (bastard) Jade, it's all a dead giveaway. He knows by the start of book three when you first make your deal with Azul.

-It’s like he’s looking through you in that crowded little office. His gaze and placid smile pierced through your skin.

-He won’t say anything to anyone though. What fun would that be? 

-To him, it's quite funny seeing how unaware both he and your friends are of the truth.

-He gives you the chills every time he’s around you, but he’s not giving you any reason to believe he knows anything more than what you’ve told him.

-He uses the correct pronouns and treats you as he would anyone else. The only thing is that he’s got this knowing glimmer in his eyes.

-It scares you. Not in the ‘oh god he’s gonna do something to me,’ way, but in the ‘Oh god he’s looking at me again, why is he looking at me again’ kinda way.

-He really does not give you an inkling of an idea that he knows. Just stares at you, smiling like a creepy doll.

-Eventually though, at some point after Azul’s overblot, he corners you (quite literally).

-You honestly think he’s about to kill you, he’s very tall and his face doesn’t change as he leans down to whisper in your ear.

-“Your secret is safe with me.”

-And he walks away.

-What. The. Fuck. Honestly, the scariest thing he could’ve done. Scarier than anything Floyd could ever do honestly.

-To his credit though, your secret is safe with him! Floyd and Azul find out completely on their own, and in fact act surprised when you ask if Jade was the one who told them.

-And honestly, if you can ignore how scary his smile is, he’s always lovely to talk to when you’re in his serving section at the lounge.

-He’s actually the one who convinced Azul to give you a part-time gig when you tell him about your… difficulties affording Sam’s prices.

-Makes sure that your uniform fits the way that makes you most comfortable, and keeps the more rowdy customers AND servers (including Floyd) away from you.

-Very kind! Very weird! 

-When you ask him why, he just tells you, “What’s the fun in letting our little secret get out.”

-Creepy! But at least you’re sort of safe around him.

Floyd

-Now, I am aware that Floyd is a very smart person. As smart as both Jade and Azul, in fact.

-However, homie has ADHD like crazy, and if something doesn’t have his attention he is not learning anything about it.

-Therefore, when it comes to you being female, it takes him a little longer than Jade and Azul to figure it out.

-You don’t really pique his interest for a while. Sure, you’re from a different dimension and all, and you’re a magicless student at one of the most prestigious magic schools ever, and you defeated two of the strongest students at NRC’s overblots.

-So what! Who cares! Certainly not Floyd!.

-You don’t interest him, plain and simple. He finds you kinda boring beyond all that “superficial” stuff out of your control.

-That is honestly for the best, you think, You sort of have Jade’s attention already, and that’s scary enough for you.

-You’ve heard the terrifying tales of what Floyd does to Riddle, you’d rather not be an object of his “affections.”

-It’s not until he’s forced to pay attention to you that he gets… interested. (Yayy for you!)

-It’s not immediate, of course. 

-He thinks you signing the contract with Azul so confidently is really funny. 

-Your determination to pretend you’re not scared of him and Jade is kinda cute, sure.

-When he realizes you’ve caught Jade’s eye he really starts to wonder about you.

-What is so interesting about you that Jade, his brother who only ever really liked peculiar people, has been keeping an eye on you like you’re his prey or something?

It really makes him think, but he doesn’t get it. Seriously. What's so different about you.

-Realizes what’s up when your baggy uniform manages to hug just the right place just long enough that he notices in the heat of battle.

-He gets it now, Jade. How silly you are, little shrimpy, hiding something like that from everyone.

-Suddenly, after Azul recovers from his overblot, Floyd is really friendly with you. 

-Not even in the creepy, stalker-ish way that a lot of people like to portray him as. (Though he does, in fact, do a lot of creepy stalker-ish things. It’s in his blood, he’s an underwater predator after all.)

-It’s more like a really, overly excited, not well-trained puppy who just wants attention from its (new) favorite person.

-And, you have to admit, he can be pretty pleasant to be around when he’s in a good mood! He’s funny, easy to talk to, and always has something fun he wants to do.

-It’s annoying to him that everyone gets in the way of him talking to you, though. He’s not gonna hurt you or anything, just wants to give you a squeeze is all.

Jamil

-Jamil has literally no reason to interact with you, ever.

-He, quite honestly, tries to avoid you at all costs.

-Trouble seems to follow you everywhere you go, and with Kalim always trailing him like a puppy, it’s not a mixture he wants to deal with.

-So, Jamil doesn’t know. Nor does he care to know at all. He doesn’t want to know anything about you.

-Alas, you both attend NRC. Nothing goes well at NRC.

-So, you bump into him in the kitchen during winter break. 

-If he’s completely honest, you are incredibly nice and easy to be around. Smarter than he’d thought too, seems that your bad luck only comes from your goodness of heart.

-It couldn’t hurt to let you eat with the rest of the dorm just this once… could it.

-It could. It very much could.

-It’s in his nature to be observant. He easily picks up on people's mannerisms and tells them so he can adjust to them as quickly as possible.

-Your mannerisms, however, are particularly different from every other guy on campus. 

-You act more like you belong in Pomefiore in a lot of ways, and you tend to flinch at the slightest bit of contact.

-You keep your distance, wear baggy clothes, and your voice sometimes sounds really strained.

-All of these things are odd, but… everyone at NRC is a little weird. He’s a little weird.

-So what. He writes it off and moves on.

-That is until he has to give you the Scarabia uniform after pointedly deciding to kidnap you for a while.

-Your very visible discomfort at the idea of having to wear the new clothes, which he picked specifically to be closer to your actual size, was quite a big giveaway for him.

-He simply smiles and hums and goes to fetch you something a little bigger, for your comfort. He’s not a monster after all! He wouldn’t want a young lady to be uncomfortable around him.

-Keeps it to himself, like a little prize. He was the only one who knew, and he wanted to keep it that way for a while without letting you know.

-It was for no reason other than to fuel that ever-growing ego in his chest.

-However, he gets a little annoyed when Kalim asks him if he thinks you’re a girl or not. He also gets very annoyed when you outwit him and fly to Octanivelle for help.

-Then he finds out that not only did Kalim manage to figure it out on his own, but Jade, Floyd, and Azul have known for ages now.

-It’s just a fun little bonus stressor that adds to his ultimate overblot.

-The overblot in which he exposes your secret to the whole of Scarabia. The overblot where he is just a little too creepy for you to be okay with him for a while.

-Needless to say, you do not have a good relationship with Jamil after all of that.

-He does, however, apologize properly for what he did during his overblot during the music training camp arc.

-You two never really fix things, but you become amicable enough. 

Jamil doesn’t really care enough to try and out you to the rest of NRC, but he does owe you a semblance of kindness thanks to what he put you through.

-So he makes sure Scarabia students and Kalim don’t go yapping to everyone after school starts up again.

🍓I have to be fully honest before I write this, I don’t… know how to write silver. I’m not up to date with chapter seven, and he hardly has any in-game content, so I’m sorry if I got him wrong. I’m trying my best to learn the Diasomania characters, but I don’t have the time to sit down and read ALL of chapter seven. (I do, however, have the time to get about 30 hrs a week on Mercy overwatch so maybe I should get my priorities straight…)🍓

Silver

-Silver is one of the last people to find out on campus.

-Not only do you never hang out with the Diasomnia students (other than Malleus), but you and Silver have absolutely nothing to talk about.

-He’s always in a weird sleep-fueled daze, and he’s super quiet and stern. He’s not exactly an easy guy to talk to, but he is nice when you do talk to him.

-The greatest extent to which you’ve interacted with him is through Lilia, and you hardly interact with Lilia outside of Malleus.

-So yeah… Silver doesn’t really have a chance to find out on his own.

-Besides, even if he did suspect something, he’s too upstanding and nice to bother asking you about it.

-Like Jack, he would just assume you were trans, or you’d tell him if you wanted to tell him. 

-Besides, gender isn’t all that big of a concern at NRC, let alone for someone who was raised by a pretty open-minded guy like Lilia.

-So, really, Silver has no reason to suspect or ask anything at all.

-However… he does… overhear Lilia talking about something like that with Malleus.

-More specifically, Lilia scolded Malleus and made him promise not to say anything to anyone else. (Silver wonders who he might’ve spilled to…)

-It’s not like it’s his business. You two aren’t super duper close or anything. He’s a royal guard anyway, he can keep his mouth shut. Besides, he could’ve just misheard the conversation.

-….He’s kinda curious though. Damn his human nature, he just wants to know that’s all.

-So, he asks you outright one day.

-“Are you a girl?”

“…No hello?”

-He doesn’t get why you’d hide something like that. Women are strong, what’s the point in hiding that you’re a woman.

-You explain it to him, and suddenly he’s much more sympathetic.

-Offers to protect you if you ever need it out of the goodness of his heart. (What a sweetie)

-Otherwise, he doesn’t change all that much, maybe waves at you in the halls now, but he’s not going out of his way to talk to you unless you want him to.

-He’s another good guy <3

well the first part made you look suspicious now.

but the second part is a lie though.

you in fact, are not a student from room C. you purposely left out mentioning what year you were in all together in favor of hopefully, having your identity still anonymous the remainder you'd still be inside the court.

speaking of. you aren't even supposed to be here right now.

the student eyes you weirdly, and you refrain from sweating bullets under their gaze.

for your own sake you just ignore them and focus on the court, your eyes immediately zeroes on the seemingly tight block (attempt at this point) at floyd, but he doesn't have any problem getting past them at all. you blink and he had already slammed the ball in and hung off the net like he's trying to play monkey bars.

to be fair your getup is immensely out of place, you're wearing all black, the hood is over your head and you're wearing shades which wouldn't have been strange if you hadn't wore it indoors. a black jacket to match when it's 36 degrees outside? yeah right.

in all honesty you're trying to gaslight yourself that you're just here to show support for one of your friends but you hadn't spared a wink of a gaze in ace's direction ever since you had entered.

instead you're staring at an empty spot at the bench, usually occupied by a certain someone you know. yet it isn't, you're just staring in hopes that he'll magically appear out of thin air and leave you something to stare at.

you're a mixture of confusion, and disappointment. this isn't very independent boss of me. you sweatdrop, pining over a boy... was not part of your plan.

maybe getting hit by a basketball flying off court and miraculously in your direction wasn't too but thankfully before you could screech bloody hell and break your nose, a palm reaches out and literally slaps the ball away casually?

you peek out your arm and peek up at jamil who doesn't even look at you and stares in the direction of which where the ball had come from with unblinking eyes (it seemed kind of intense but you don't want to question it.) he's wearing his signature club wear, his water bottle present in his other hand and a towel over his shoulder. the slightly dampened fringes that frame his face tells you that he had gone to wash up.

"you should be aware of your surroundings." he chides.

and he finally looks at you, you swear you just exploded.

you don't have it in yourself to reply to the echo of an apology from the court but is only able to stare dumbly at jamil who stares back.

... this is awkward.

"thanks..." you trail off, flabbergasted and warm as hell. maybe you shouldn't have used a jacket? maybe it was the weather? definitely!

before you know it, he stalks off with a tilt of his head and you believe you're being delusional again when he keeps looking in your direction whenever he scores like... it's for you.

unsurprisingly there's a deadpan directed to ace, not from deuce, riddle, nor cater but from you. sure he's just teensy tiny little bit bothered because well, it's not like he considered those other people romantically and there's been a silent promise to himself to prove that he is in fact; not as dumb as you think he is when you look at him like that.

usually when 'that' comes into mind ace would have imagined it to be a look he gives you daily, like you're sure he's the biggest idiot of the world but he's your idiot. he definitely does not want to get into detail but it's those looks people in love give which he used to cringe about.

ironically enough he's one of the subjects daydreaming about it.

you get him? he wanted that look not this one.

ace throws up his arms in the air with a deep sigh. "I live with him but that doesn't magically make me good in cooking, plus... trey bakes!" he rolls his eyes, speaking with a matter-of-factly tone.

you squint at him.

"have you not tasted trey's homemade dishes for dinner? those are to die for."

"no I haven't." he snaps.

"to think you even have the resident cook of scarabia mentoring you..." you continue, dodging a spatula that was thrown at your head. you frown at him in mock disappointment. "now now, you really wanna get charged for assault?"

from across the counter ace gives you the forbidden triple fuck you fingers. there's a silly pink apron he wears because you stole the only one which doesn't give his eyes a seizure, a red one. red looks good on you, he thinks but then his eye twitches.

to be fair you were hungry and the food would arrive at like 2 hours with how much ordering the residents had done.

only when you realize that there was a possibility of hitting your head (which by the way, was never a fun experience. you're sure there's a carved up line from how many times you've hit it on your head.) when your head indeed bumps, but it's not exactly the hard surface that sends a jolt of sharp pain up your head.

instead there is a soft cushion. it ruffles your hair a bit and you're immensely confused.

you immediately look up when you stand up, unharmed but ace is just looking away from you. stirring the... pot which is weird cause there hasn't been any seasonings put in it.

He had bought you a full bouquet and even cleared out the Mostro Lounge so you could get something to eat before you went on the walk. After all, a true gentleman makes sure that their significant other is well fed.

Now, you always go to him for help when someone (Ace) won’t stop bothering you, and Azul takes it upon himself to protect you from harm. Whenever you feel overwhelmed, he lets you know that you can go to him and the VIP room and he will cancel every client so that he can be there for you.

Even though he acts so freaking happy and excited, he will act very passive aggressive towards anyone who makes you frightened. He will distract that person so they don’t go talk to you and make you scared.

You reminded him of a shy butterfly who flew away whenever you felt threatened. He couldn’t help but follow you, but you always got away. Eventually, his friendly demeanor led him to leaving notes at your locker and desk so that he could talk to you in some way.

He didn’t shower you in gifts just yet since he was aware that it could overwhelm you (something taught to him by Jamil). He would give you a few small charms to let you know that the notes were from him.

As this went on, you stuck around to receive the notes, and even engaged in some conversation with him. This made him so unbelievably happy, and from then on you would always hang out with him. You made him aware of your social limits, and he will do his very best to remember. He might not be able to notice, but he will leave anywhere with you if you just tell him.

Earlier, I mentioned how he would be passive aggressive. What I meant was that if he sees someone constantly bothering you, Kalim will place himself between the two of you as he tells them kindly to leave lest he reports them to the headmaster for harassing a student.

Jamil Viper

He’s the kind to take you by the hand and either lead you somewhere else or just run somewhere else with you in tow until the person gives up. He is able to read your body language and he can tell when you are uncomfortable in a situation. He lets you know that you are able to run to him.

But, as you probably expected, it wasn’t always like that. You ran away from everyone, and he could tell that you were struggling in class. He understood where you were coming from: you were in a strange world and nothing was familiar to you. It was hard to be mad.

One time, Ace and Deuce were arguing and brought you into the fight. The Vice Housewarden of Scarabia noticed how panicked you looked and stepped in. He told the two off as he pushed you behind him, and when he turned around to apologize and you were blushing so hard (I would be too, bestie).

Just seeing you so flustered made him fall for you because no one has felt that way about him before. You really should be careful, because this viper is now completely in love with you. Or just embrace it and return his feelings.

Jamil has never felt so proud of himself until he is able to rescue you from situations that made you completely terrified. He wasn’t very social either, but that was because he hated people. However, he felt like a hero when he saw that you needed to be saved.

Vil Schoenheit 

You would think that this relationship would never work because he’s always in the spotlight, but that’s the reason why it does work out. If someone is bothering you, Vil will threaten to ruin any possible career that they were looking to go into. And he would do it just for you.

Let’s go back to where it all began. You tried your hardest to not stick out, but the Housewarden of Pomefiore tends to notice even the most minute detail. Plus, a student with no magic in a school full of magic… you stuck out like a sore thumb.

You strayed furthest away from him because of his fame and popularity, and that made him sad because his fans usually flock up to him. He found you intriguing and adorable, and it was unfortunate that you didn’t want to be around him. It made him feel like you didn’t view him as a safe space.

However, you were able to see that he was often uncomfortable with his fans and that he sometimes wished that he could take a break. You decided to write a small note about how great he was and how he should take a break and left it on his desk, and his heart fluttered at how you were concerned about him.

He also doesn’t post you on his Magicam and takes every measure in the book to not draw the public’s eye towards you. He doesn’t like to go outside, but his room becomes your safe haven and Ortho hangs around you to make sure no one bothers you. When you both are a few months into your relationship, you both offer each other comfort within your anxiety.

When you first met, he could tell that you were shaking in your shoes during the Housewarden meeting. Sure, he was attending the meeting virtually, but he felt the rage burn within him as Crowley didn’t show an ounce of concern or worry for how scared you looked.

He reached out to you and asked if you would prefer a system like his, and he oversaw the project personally when you said yes. When you expressed your quiet excitement about not having to be scared anymore, he thought you were so freaking adorable but he could never tell you that.

Once he finished it, you got so excited that you wrapped your arms around him, and it was then that he vowed to make sure that you were never put in a situation like this again. You didn’t do anything to deserve the horrible treatment that you faced so far.

He had a serious conversation with Crowley, even threatening to reveal all the overblots to the public since his family was well-known for the studying of overblotting and the victims subject to it. It was through this one discussion that the Headmage let out a notice to not bother you at all.

He thought you were just so precious. He saw you as someone he needed to protect at all costs, like a king with his spouse. If he sees that you are about to run away from someone because they are bothering you, he will be waiting for you with open arms as he gives the person a death glare.

You both met each other during the night which was the only time you felt you were able to find solace, which was the same exact scenario for him. It was a lot like the moment in the movie Sleeping Beauty where Prince Phillip sneaks up on Princess Aurora.

It was through that singular night that you both bonded. You were able to see through the loneliness that the fae had gone through since childhood, and he saw how skittish you were at first. You reminded him of a deer, willing to flee at a moment’s notice.

When you [figuratively] ran into his arms that fateful night, he never wanted to let you go. He wanted to be there for you through thick and through thin, and that is exactly what he did. He will learn your cues when your social battery has been depleted, and when someone is making you uncomfortable.

though not all the judges seated are all privileged with a good nose like the merman, nor a good set of ears like the fae, not even the combination of both from the beastmen.. all of them could smell the seeming scent of something burning? they know because they can see the gray smoke clouding above their heads.

… but they could all collectively feel the looming sense of something ominous inside that kitchen.

they all exchange nervous looks. the previous contestant called lilia's dish already made them lose their appetite. they're pretty sure that this next meal would finish them off and send them to the next universe.

the door opens and the smoke comically flows out. ironically enough you emit a ray of sunshine, as though you are immensely proud by your achievement as you hold the tray of what seems to be the eye of the storm.

"it's ready." despite the very clear aura of death behind you, and in your hands. you smile brightly and they actually pause to sweat a little.

oh god. is it normal for the smoke to form into a skull before disappearing completely..? they swear they just saw a bouquet of spider lilies behind you.

for once they quip back a comment in favor of you keeping that hopeful grin. they don't have the heart to shatter it right now when they're probably seconds away from death.

at least once they die, you're happy…

"so.. what's this supposed to be?" midst their stunned silence one of the student asks.

you answer in a quip. "an omelet." and they almost fall over. that smell is supposed to be an omelet?

you happily take off the lid and his jaw drops, at the smell alone.. is that even a dish? that's just burnt ash!

"I hope you enjoy the meal~"

the ones pretending that everything is okay even though it's most definitely not. he can physically feel the smoke tickling the base of his jaw and he's starting to regret picking up the spoon for a bite in your expense. surely it isn't too bad?

Trey Clover

Trey notices the moment you use his shoulder as a pillow- his muscles become tense at first before easing a second later.

He stops whatever he was doing, his attention shifting to you an instant. The first thought that crosses his mind is that you weren't giving yourself proper rest. His mother mode is activated and he'll be sure to question you about it once you wake up- but in the meantime he lets you rest.

Though he can't help but chuckle at the sight of you resting so calmly on his shoulder as if it was a pillow. He would linger in that spot for a few minutes, his hand going to give you a slight pat on the head

There are moments when Trey finds himself leaning into your touch, his head also resting against your own. He doesn't bring himself to sleep though, he mind is preoccupied on matters such as dorm responsibilities, classes, and making sure you're taking care of yourself. But the position does make him more calm, an incoherent sigh escaping his lips as he relaxes.

Trey simply adores being close to you, so sleeping on his shoulder is enough to make him happy.

After a bit, he'll gently wake you up to take you somewhere more comfortable to rest, letting you lean against him if you're too sleepy to walk straight. He'll even tuck you in your bed if you asked.

Ruggie Bucchi

He loves it! A smug expression covers Ruggie's lips whenever you use his shoulder as a pillow. He's also gonna be a jerk about it though; the moment you wake up from your nap he's going to be teasing you. But deep down, he's loving it more than you do, he'll take physical affection any day

Ruggie loves it even more if you fall asleep against him in a public area like the cafeteria- he can show you off to the other students without lifting a finger!

The very first time you fell asleep on his shoulder though, he felt like he was going to explode. It was sudden, and made him initially nervous. Thoughts like, 'Should I wake them?' would be running through his head. However, a quick glance to your figure quickly made his nervousness turn into that of excitment and mischief, all bubbling within his chest- but he resisted from expressing it too much knowing that it might wake you up.

Ruggie likes to run his fingers through your hair whenever you sleep on his shoulder. You often wake up with your hair disheveled; other times he can't help but poke at your cheeks. He tends to do it just to test whether you were really sleeping or not, much to your dismay. Although his antics are mischievous, it's how Ruggie expresses his affection and makes it up with kisses

Whenever you two are sitting next each other and he sees you growing tired, he would suggest that you sleep on his shoulder, a sly smile covering his features. Although teasing, Ruggie adores those moments and there are times that he will indulge himself some rest as well

" Shishishishi~ are you feeling sleepy, kitty? You should sleep on my shoulder, I promise I won't poke you again."

Jade Leech

A grin would dance on Jade's lips when he noticed you fell asleep on his shoulder. How vulnerable you are right now

Usually when he catches dozing off, Jade will lightly nudge you and suggest you retreat to your room where you'll be more comfortable and away from the public eye. So when you fell asleep on his shoulder for the first time, he was surprised that he hadn't noticed earlier.

Like Trey, he's curious if this relates to you not sleeping enough or if there are other factors in play that contribute, will also inquire if your getting enough rest or not.

Regardless he's gentle, he won't poke you awake like a certain Hyena. But sometimes Jade likes to take a few seconds to admire your face, savoring the expression you make as you use his shoulder as a makeshift pillow.

In most cases he will gently carry you back to your room where you'll better receive proper sleep. That said, Jade has a lot of patience, he can sit there and wait for you to wake up if he wishes to, even lending you his coat and scarf as a blanket if it happens to be cold; however, the former option is more likely to happen. Like Trey, he can't allow himself to rest, there's so many things beckoning for his attention

Despite his nature as a gentleman, it's very likely you'll be met with some teases once you awaken from your nap, his sly grin only growing at your responses.

" Fufufu it seems like someone has been neglecting rest. Though I'm curious, is my shoulder really that comfortable~?"

Jamil Viper

Jamil is another one who is very observant in his partner's little movements, he's the first to notice you starting to drift off to sleep before you could even tell your tired. When he notices these little signs, he'll lightly jolt you awake

It's not easy to make Jamil flustered, he's an expert at masking his emotions. But the first time you fell asleep against him, he was rendered speechless, even freezing a little as his brain processed what you were doing. He's attempting to play it off, but anyone passing by can notice the little red coloring on his face. He gets so tense when it occurs too- he's torn between waking you up and taking you to a better location to rest, or stay still until you awake because you look so peaceful how could he wake you??

As your relationship progresses and he soon becomes accustomed to your antics, an amused expression would play on his features the next time he catches you dozing off on his shoulder.

If it happened to be somewhere public then he'll pinch you awake as he isn't the fondest of pda and would feel rather embarrassed. Same applies if you're both doing something important like studying; you'll feel a pinch to your arm with Jamil rolling his eyes at your actions

If you both happen to be sitting on a couch or somewhere comfy, then he'll gently lay you down, bringing a blanket to cover your form. A sigh would leave his lips as glances at the sleeping person in front of him, even rolling his eyes- but deep down he can't help but love it even just a little bit knowing that this is something he alone can have

" Y/n, what are you doing? And you're already asleep- I suppose that concludes studying for tonight."

Rook Hunt

He loves it and isn't afraid of expressing it either! Rook wants nothing more than to savor the image of you sleeping on his shoulder, reminiscent of something from a romance novel

He becomes very vocal, rambling to himself of the scene before him, he may even startle you awake. He can't help himself though, seeing you sleeping on his shoulder makes him want to recite verses of poetry, his heart beating against his chest. Though he does restrain himself, as much as he would love to sing you praises, he much rather savor the moment while it lasts. That said, once you awaken, there is nothing that will stop him from expressing his love, placing an emphasis on how beautiful you look sleeping against him

There are moments that while resting on his shoulder, Rook would bring your knuckles to his lips, gently pressing against the skin while his thumbs rub the joints. Other times he would brush your hair out of her face, his movements are tender to the touch. Rook's also a gentleman, if it's cold he won't hesitate to remove his coat and drape it over your shoulders- if anything it just makes you cuter in his eyes.

Rook wishes to close his eyes and rest beside you as well, but similar to Trey, he can't quite indulge himself to rest when he has work needed to be completed and he dislikes being seen in vulnerable positions. Behind closed doors, he won't be as reluctant; he would even lean into your touch as he relishes the aura you radiate.

The second his partner opens their eyes, they will be met with a shower with compliments from Rook, and he doesn't mind if they want to fall asleep on his shoulder again

" Even as you rest your beauty shines ever so bright, mon cheri! Please allow me to live this moment for a little longer, that's my only wish."

Lilia Vanrouge

He is someone who will also poke at your cheeks and make other teasing gestures simply because he finds it adorable and amusing.

Lilia could feel his mischievous nature bubbling within his chest when he catches you dozing off, but as much as he would love to cause chaos, he finds himself coming to a state of peace- almost reminding him of his youth when he used to doze off.

If he's feeling particularly teasing, he'll remove you from his shoulder and move you to his chest- cradling you as though you were a child, his arms wrapping around your waist firmly. Other times he may graze his fingers over your face, messing with the strands of hair that fell over your closed eyes

Despite his teases, he won't wake you he knows rest is important for humans. At most he'll poke at your cheeks and place some pins to keep your hair from falling onto your face. Depending on the situation, he will most likely take you somewhere more comfortable to rest such as your room. However, he doesn't mind being your pillow for a while either, it gives him an excuse to spend more time with his partner.

Sometimes Lilia feels his head leaning towards yours instinctively, his eyes closing momentarily before blinking open again, but the expression of content never leaves him.

Like Ruggie, if he finds you dozing off he would suggest resting against his shoulder for a bit. He even shows you a toothy grin as he pats the spot for a moment, encouraging you to rest

" My dear why don't you rest against my shoulder, I'll even lend you my coat as a blanket~ No tricks I promise."
