Actually, that other anon makes me wonder how that whole plot line will be effected when everything is edited for compatability. If it's not to spoilery would you be willing to share what you have in mind? Will it be a significant change?

Nah, barely changed at all. For the statue, only a couple small things will change:

In earlier chapters i'll insert a couple mpments of Bill thinking "i can get out of this if i can find my statue, wherever it is, and get my soul back into it"; that way in ch 44 i can change his outrage from "you knew [that it exists]?!" to "you knew where it was?!" with only slight wordinc changes; plus it'll punch more if people remember he was holding onto that as his guaranteed escape just to find out it doesn't work

MAYBE, insert a stinger line to the effect of "Ford tries not to feel guilty about the unicorn hair barrier he and Mabel put around the statue last year, since that's prob why Bill can't get into it but he's totally not about to tell Bill that." There's a few issues with that though:

We know ford wrote about this incident in a journal. It probably wasn't J1, 2, or 3, because they're probably mostly full. I wrote that ford's J4 got stolen by Shmebulock in the fall and he started writing J5 then; next summer Bill stole J4 from Shmeb and has been using it since. So this incident CAN'T have been written about in J4 or Bill would know about the unicorn hair barrier & that Ford knows where his corpse is. Did Ford write it in J1 or J2 before tossing them into the void? (Can't be J3, i think we're all out of Secret Lost J3 Pages thanks.) Did Mabel (and Mabel's brother) take a trip back to GF in the fall after Ford had lost J4, and that's when Ford & Mabel made the barrier? This is an annoying detail i'll need to resolve.

when Bill finds out about the unicorn hair barrier, obviously he's gonna wanna go back and break that barrier and try shaking his hand again; and like, that's just gonna result in exactly the same thing we already did in ch 44, with him trying to shake and being devastated it didn't work. We only need that scene once. It's not heartbeaking the second time, it's just tedious. Gotta figure out how to make it non-tedious.

I can't NOT have him try again though, because if I don't, then readers will go "ooOOoo the only reason it didn't work is because of the barrier, so we're obviously building up to the big moment where he tries again and this time it works!!" Which we aren't, obviously. My original writing plans never included the unicorn hair barrier because it didn't exist yet, i'm not building up to the reveal that the statue actually works.

And I'm not interested in making people think it'll work the second time, 44 was MEANT to be the It Totally Doesn't Work scene. A red herring is only a red herring if you put it there on purpose; otherwise it's just a dead fish distracting everyone with its dead fish smell.

So the barrier's annoying. I'll solve it when I get to it.

For the overall plot arc (not just the statue chapter), the only thing I need to change is rewriting "Bill's scared the Axolotl's coming for him because maybe he wasn't supposed to come back to the 21st century even though he wasn't told not to" to "Bill's scared the Axolotl's coming for him because he escaped Theraprism." Which is WAY WAY BETTER. Honestly I thought Bill's motivation for thinking the Axolotl was gonna Get Him was the weakest part of the eclipse arc, so I am deeelighted that the Theraprism gives me something so much more frightening to substitute in. It'll also give me an opportunity to begin working in some info about the Ax's own character & motivation that otherwise I wouldn't be able to include until way into season 2.

This will require me to substantially rewrite Bill's conversation with the Ax—for the better—I've already rewritten like 70% of it. And... basically rewrite nothing else.

That's it. A tiny tweak to Bill's wording in ch44, MAYBE throw in a single line about the unicorn barrier once I decide how I'm going to handle it in the rest of the fic, rewrite his conversation with the Ax, the end.

All the other edits will be fluff from TBOB plumping things out and tiny nudges toward better TBOB compliance—slide in a hint of medical trauma to Bill's refusal to let Ford call a doctor, make a mention during the chess scene that sometimes Bill used to let Ford win, that sort of thing.

The more you talk about One Piece, the more I want to read it. Is it really "western influenced"? Because one of the reasons why I stopped reading shonen is that, that particular demographic usually has the most nationalist, conformist, and chauvinistic themes. Like respect to a different culture and all that, but I don't share a lot of Japan's values and ethics and stuff, so when anime and manga preach that stuff it really turns me off. One Piece does look cool tho.

When I say "western influenced" I mean this series started because Oda liked some cartoon about vikings when he was a child and the architecture of a lot of the world is like so:

and the art style for characters especially isn't super anime.

I think all cultures have good and bad stuff in them. As an American especially now I can see a lot of value in the collectivism of some east Asian countries where people will just wear masks to protect their community instead of whining about freeeedom??? But also as a queer person the conformist nature of some societies would feel restrictive, but you also don't want to diminish the fact that those countries have queer people too that are fighting for their own rights and recognition. Also calling out Japan as particularly nationalist is really funny (not really) to me right now. Like...all the problems everyone has right now don't come down to nationalism or capitalism...

But anyway the ethos of One Piece is very much freedom=good and the government is shitty. All factions have been shown to have good and bad people in them except the Revolutionary Army so far has been all good. Also here's one of my favorite OP posts. And I guess it's kind of ironic to say Japanese shounen media is particularly nationalist, conformist and chauvinistic when this is the number one selling manga not only in that country but the world 🤷‍♀️

Blindos!!! Just as her name indicates, she’s blind in one eye. Bad case of pinkeye when she was a calf. She’s my baby. I’ve had her since I was a kid. My dad named her, not the most creative lmao. This is Martin, our bottle calf from this year. Big enjoyer of scratches under the chin, his eyeballs will roll back lol. He’s a rejected twin :( His sister’s name is Martina, who is with his mom. We went with the “Martin” theme because female twins are what we call “freemartins” (infertile).

Skrunkly. That’s his name. I never got around to naming his buddy. But Skrunkly is one of our yearlings we keep around the yard to mow grass. We had a couple days of -55C last winter that got the best of his one ear tip :( He can still hear fine and he’s a silly goofy guy and a little gremlin

This is my little buddy Clyde. About 2 years old. He’s an anomaly. If you look above his ears, you’ll see two little nubs peeking out. He has horns!! I’m so baffled… my dad bred horns out over 10 years ago. Been scratching my head over this for the past few weeks. And it’s weird they only just appeared after so long…

But… poor Clyde passed away this week. He seemed to have a bout of pneumonia, which I gave him Resflor for. And he recovered. But there was always something odd about him ever since he was born. Always weaker than the rest, never too energetic, but liked a good scratch on his back. He passed away asleep in his bedding. He looked comfy and warm. I’m, at least for that, glad for it.

How widely known is Swain's vastayan heritage throughout Noxus? Did his father flaunt him around to others? What about the rest of Runeterra? You said that those who've seen him transform only do when they're a loved one or about to die, but has anyone seen his raven form and lived to tell the tale? Like J4, maybe?

I headcanon that for a while, it was kept under tight wraps. It’s always been an ongoing rumor that there was something off and strange about the grand general. Some said he was some sort of immortal or an undead, or that his corpse was being possessed by Beatrice. Swain allowed these rumors to cultivate fear among the masses, as that led to some sort of compliance. 

These rumors grew tenfold after he battled Jarvan and displayed his true form. But as the Vastaya are a relatively new discovery, not many people had come to the conclusion that he is half vastaya. Though I believe that Leblanc and Vladimir (among other Black Rose members) would know the truth behind his identity. They know all about Jericho’s past and upbringing.

As for other nations, I imagine they’re still a bit in the dark about it. They believe him to be more of a demon than anything, due to superstition and folklore. But I imagine that the freethinkers of Piltover and Zaun would undoubtedly know the truth of it all. Especially after Prince Jarvan told his story.

I’m Not Ready

Thank you to the wonderful anon that requested this! Get ready for some fluff

Harry takes (Y/n) to see one of her favorite artists and (y/n) freaks out

You had won tickets to go see Kacey Musgraves play Madison Square Garden (sorry to all my country haters out there) through a radio station in your hometown and you were beyond excited. The concert was tonight and even though your seats were almost at the nose bleed level you were still excited to go with Harry to see one of your favorite artists. 

You had just landed in JFK after deciding to take the last couple of vacation days you had left to come out to NYC to see the concert and spend some time with Harry. The two of you have slowly been learning how to work through your long-distance relationship. Most of it involves Harry taking weekend trips to come see you in between studio sessions and concerts and modeling gigs as your day job at the hospital didn’t allow much leeway in terms of time off. 

Walking off the plane, you thanked the flight attendant quickly as you made your way towards the baggage claim area to go collect your bag. Once you had managed to lift the definitely overpacked suitcase you made your way towards the exit to find Harry. He had promised to come pick you up at the airport and as you nervously searched the crowd your phone began to buzz in your pocket.

H: Arrivals were to crowd for me not to be noticed, meet me in parking lot J4? Sorry Love, can’t wait to see you xx

You smiled at his message before sending him a quick response and making your way towards the parking lot. You look around the parking lot until you spotted a pair of grandpa looking pants and a very Gucci looking sweater leaning against a black BMW. You raced towards him as he slowly lifted his head and smiled at you. You let go of your suitcase as you reached him and he wrapped his arms tightly around your small frame. 

“Hi,” he whispered.  

“Hi” you replied as you placed a quick kiss to kiss chapped lips. 

He grinned widely at you as he grabbed your suitcase and placed it in the trunk as you got into the car. Once Harry got in the two of you began driving towards Harry’s apartment. 

“I thought we could stop by my place and drop off your things, freshen up a bit before heading over to the concert?” Harry asked as he intertwined your fingers with his. 

“Sounds good” you replied as you kissed his cheek. 

The two of you made it to his apartment where you changed it something a bit more stylish than your leggings and your baggy sweatshirt. Once you had finished changing you both headed towards the concert.

“So (Y/n) what section are we sitting in?” He asked as the two of you sat in traffic.

“Almost at the nose bleeds but they were free! They gave me two free drink coupons at the bar too” you replied as you pulled the coupons out of your purse.

“You know Darling, if you want better seats all you have to do is ask. I really don’t mind getting you a VIP pass” he stated softly. 

“I know but I don’t want you to spend any more money on me. This is my treat for you!”

“Well, then I am honored to be your plus one. It will be fun to see Kacey’s full set for once. She’s lovely” 

“Ugh, Harry don’t remind me. I’m still upset over the fact that I hadn’t met you when you two toured together,” you replied as Harry chuckled.

The two of you made it to the venue with relative ease as you both found your seats near the top of the arena. Harry caught you up with all of the crazy and hectic things he has been up to since his visit. Just as you had finished telling him a story about your little cousin the lights dimmed down and Kacey appeared on stage. You jumped and cheered and sang every song by heart. She played all of your favorites from her newest album and even some of her old ones like Rainbow and Follow Your Arrow as well as Cup of Tea. You nearly cried when she said her last goodbye as the concert came to its end. 

As everyone began to gather their things and leave the stadium you sat there, taking it all in. 

“Love I have a surprise” Harry whispered into your ear as he slowly stood up and gave you his hand. 

“What surprise? What are you doing Harry?” you questioned as you grabbed your purse and followed him down the stairs.

“You’ll see” he mumbled as he guided you down a dark hallway, showing a security guard to passes as he turned a corner.

“Harry where are we-” you started speaking but suddenly saw once you saw who was just across the hallway. 

There in all of her glittery glory stood Kacey Musgraves.

“Surprise” Harry whispered as he placed a kiss to your temple as you clung to his shirt. 

“Oh no, no, no Harry I’m not ready to meet her! I look like a mess! I-I can’t she’s so- and I’m so- Harry I can’t” you began as you shook your head.

 Harry laughed at your antics as he slowly began walking towards Kacey, your hand wrapped tightly around his.  

“Harry, it’s so nice to see you!” Kacey shouted as she spotted Harry and ran over to him. 

She gave him a quick hug before Harry introduced you to her.

“Well, I must say, you seem a lot sweeter than the tabloids have been saying” Kacey stated as she wrapped you in a hug. You nearly fainted than and there.

“Thank you. Your voice is absolutely amazing, I love your music a lot” you replied softly as you hands slightly shook.

“Oh why thank you so much” Kacey replied as she gave you a big smile and offered the two of you a drink. 

After the initial shock, you finally calmed down a bit and were able to hold and actual conversation with Kacey as Harry mingled with the band and crew that were still hanging around. After taking some pictures and bidding your final farewells the two of you left. 

As both of you began your walk to the car you quickly wrapped your arms around Harry’s neck and pulled him in for a much steamier kiss than you planned. Once the two of you separated to catch your breath, Harry spoke.

“What was that for Darling, not that I’m complaining”

“For letting me meet Kacey, for letting me love you, for letting me be your girlfriend, for putting up with me. Thank you” 

“If anyone should be thanking anyone it's me. You have been amazing especially with how hectic my life is. I do have one question though, why weren’t you that scared and nervous to meet me the first time?” he asked with a goofy smile. 

“Because your not cool enough” you replied with a grin as you dragged him towards the car.

“Oh really” he stated as he chased you to the car.

That was definitely one of the most memorable nights of your life.

I would appreciate some help with self-typing. I’m pretty sure I have Si/Ne and probably in that order. I have had difficulty typing myself recently, mostly due to being in my early 20’s and throwing off the belief system I grew up with to make one of my own along with becoming more self-aware in the process. When I’m with acquaintances I often have an attitude of not speaking much until spoken to. I think this comes from not wanting to be an annoying chatterbox and making sure whoever I’m(J1)

speaking with is still enjoying the conversation. A few people (maybe 4 or 5 people in my life I can remember) have been annoying chatterboxes who can’t read a room or learn to let other people talk about their interests. I try to avoid that with people I don’t know, so I tend to come off as “shy.” Around people I know well (friends and family in casual or workplace situations), this changes quite a bit. I know they want to hear what I have to say, so I come across as much more(J2)

At the same time I don’t keep friends very easily due to not wanting to impose on their time and also rarely pursue friendships where the person seems like they have lost interest and are not reaching out. workforce is feeling abandoned, questioning the validity of a peer’s thesis paper, explaining to old friends how I’m leaving due to a difference in beliefs). I appreciate a lot of down time to pursue my interests, which change frequently. But when I am at work, I prefer being a position of leadership. This includes being responsible for the healthcare of dozens of people provided by half a dozen aides who can come to me for anything they need and making sure everything that happened(J4)

that day ends up in our online system before shift change. I love having a lot to do at work while having the freedom to move between projects. This obviously has come after lots of experience in the field, so I feel comfortable in the position. I react well in the moment as long as the reaction required of me isn’t emotional. If it is, I tend to tuck my head, not say much, and try to just get the job done as quickly as possible. I would never be able to work in the same room every day.(J5)

One of the big reasons I was able to get my degree was because my state college had a massive library with really interesting architecture and lots of different spaces where I could go to study for a couple hours (instead of a few minutes) without losing interest and spacing out. Most of the interests I now pursue are generally people-oriented. I spend lots of time researching neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, OCD, etc.), usually from the perspective of people with those diversities. I want to(J6)

see what life is like for them while gaining a better understanding.  The neuroscience side of things is really cool too, (and what I majored in) but I’m mostly interested if the conclusions I can draw are applicable for any lay person. I do think that high Si sounds right for you, but I’m honestly stuck on Te vs. Fe.

For high Si: a lot of what you said is very relatable to me, so here are some highlights.

-placing a lot of value in getting to understand the baseline of people before talking more (I agree it’s normal to be quieter before you get to know people, but your specific motivation, of not wanting to talk over someone because you don’t know them, fits with Si).

-like lots of downtime, have a diverse array of interests that change (a lot of SJs put a lot of Ne in their hobbies since it’s okay if you don’t stick with those)

-can have hard conversations with enough prep.

For Te and Fe:

I’m stuck on a couple things. The discomfort with emotional responses sounds more like Te users (though that can be cultural and/or gender-based). The reluctance to impose on people’s time to be friends could be either for an SJ, but fits more with introverts than extroverts. Leadership can similarly be either, though in introverts it’s more frequently ISTJs than ISFJs (vs. extroverts where ESFJ and ESTJ are a much more even split). Your specific interests could be either as well, and your motivations for leadership and interest do sound more driven by people-oriented motives (you even said as much).

One other thing that is tripping me up a little, but actually, isn’t that unreasonable, is that you like working in different areas every day. On the one hand, while I like having a bunch of projects to switch between and a variety of tasks to do each day, I could very easily work in the same room every day, and have, and liked it, provided the work varied enough. On the other hand, I do now have a job where I go to different sites and could be working in totally different cities on any two days. That wasn’t a requirement or even an important part of me picking the job, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker either and there are benefits to it.

So: ISxJ but I’m really split down the middle on ISTJ vs. ISFJ.

HOW DO YOU RUN YOUR BLOG

Speed: I am a slow little turtle; I tend to reply to shorter threads first before longer ones, just because I can dish them out quickly and they tend to be dialogue-based. If they’re plot-heavy, I want to make sure my replies are consistent & keep the story moving! It also depends on my schedule, since most of the time, I can respond to multiple threads in one day. Other times, I will queue up responses to spread out my sporadic activity. 

Replies: I use rpthreadtracker to keep tab of the replies I owe, since I can be distracted quite easily. I tend to know which replies I have to do, but never feel like you’re bothering me by nudging me a reminder – just please keep in mind that I have a life as well.

Starters: I apologize, but I usually never write open starters of my own accord, usually because I’m terribly uninspired and have no idea what to write about or have too many ideas to write about. I will always be willing to write a starter if you want to RP with me–I thrive off plotting!

Inbox: My inbox is always open and anon has always been on. Feel free to always send me anything you like, at any time of day. I usually don’t reblog ask prompts, but I will always send in an ask meme if I see you on my dashboard. :)

Selectivity: I am only semi-selective. The only time I won’t really want to RP with you is if you disrespect one of my rules.

Wishlist item: I really want to explore Lux and Garen’s strained relationship one day, especially one where Garen accepts the truth of Lux’s powers and how he deals with it. I want more J4/Lux threads. I just want more Demacian threads in general, as well as Noxian ones. I love threads that have Lux questioning her psyche / her ideology, and Noxians and / or villains will do that just fine. 

Honest note: I love interactions, AUs, ANYTHING. I just hope that our muses have chemistry somewhat, because I hate slow-moving dialogue / plots that feels like it’s going nowhere. That doesn’t mean I’m not willing to RP other threads or anything with that muse. I tend to be shy and scared of people, and I apologize if I come off as rude. I love that all of you came here to share your love for a specific character. Thank you for developing your muse alongside my Lux.
