J. Cole’s “Middle Child” single goes diamond
J. Cole’s “Middle Child” single goes diamond On Thursday, J. Cole celebrated a monumental achievement in his illustrious career as his 2019 hit single “Middle Child” was certified diamond in the US, signifying over 10 million units sold. This milestone underscores the lasting impact of a track that initially peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019. “Middle Child” was widely…

Okay COD fandom, I'm trying to pick songs for some of the boys. (Specifically walk up songs for my Baseball AU), but I'm iffy on some of them.
The ones I am pretty certain of are:
Ghost- Welcome to the Black Parade by MCR (Final Chorus) [Emo 🫵🫵🫵]
Alejandro- King Daddy by Daddy Yankee (Chorus) [Yeah... whore!]
Alex- Country Girl by Luke Bryan (Bridge) [The classic for our American, of course]
I'm less sure about:
Price- The Show Must Go On by Queen (Chorus)? [I can't find any old rock that really screams Price]
Rodolfo- Llorar by LSdR (Instrumental) or Suavemente by Elvis Crespo (Chorus)? [I love these but I'm not sure they're perfect]
Gaz- One, Two Step by Ciara (Chorus) [I need him to walk to 2000s Pop or R&B, but I keep fluctuating on the specific song]
Soap- Middle Child by J. Cole (Refrain) [I want something to represent cockiness, but I feel like the vibes on this song aren't right :/]
Roach- I've got nothing
What songs do you think they'd listen to to get hype or in the zone? What songs remind you of them ? Any of mine you agree with? Any recommendations? Help 😩

Who I write for / what I call NHL players.....
so @stayg-0ld requested an updated verison. I made a list a while ago of players that I like, what I thought of them, and my little dumb nicknames for them. Here is the linked list if you wanna read it. But it's time for an update because I realize so many new nicknames aren't on here. So in no particular order here is a list of players I write for and what I call them depending on what's happening. Also if you are looking for pictures or things on a particular player this is also how I tag everything on my blog (minus my writings). I think I remembered everybody but there is a chance I forgot someone so I will go back and edit this as needed.
Quinn Hughes: My one true love, I don't think I can describe to you guys how much I adore this man, it's actually a little insane. As I've said before I am his number one bully and whore. His tag on my blog is #huggy bear 🐻 himself
Other nicknames include but not limited to: king, pretty boy, Quinny., eldest daughter. Shockingly I don't have a unique name for Quinn and that is honestly shocking to me.
Brock Boesar: I just find him to be a very kind dude. I also love the fact that his nickname Mr.Sensitive. I don’t post about him often, so you can look for him under his name, hopefully soon I will have time to go back and add his nickname to all posts so it would #mr.sensitive 🥺
Jack Hughes - He is growing on me more and more each day. His tag on my blog is #oh jacky boy 🥺
Other nicknames include but not limited to: my favorite fuckboy, J, sassy king, society's favorite middle child, angry white man. (okay but like that last one like tell me he isn't truly an angry white man 90 percent of the time on the ice??)
Luke Hughes - He really is just a child but I will say his hair hasn't looked as homeless lately and he really buffed up this summer, so I'm happy for the Lukey girlies. I tried looking and I don't think he has a tag on my page...
His nicknames include: homeless boy, Lukey, savage. (no I don't feel the need to explain any of them.)
Nico Hischier - I feel like I am constantly talking about this man so I won't bore you all with the details. His tag on my blog is #my little european king.
His other nicknames include: pretty boy, and swiss king.
John Marino - It physically pained me to make his name blue just now. 😭 I don't think I can even explain how much I adore this man. Like out of every player (Quinn included) I would love to have lunch with John once. Like I wanna sit down and hear all his thoughts on the Devils, especially the Hughes because I know he used is almost psychology degree to use and psychoanalyzed all of them. I also have used all my knowledge to psychoanalyze all of them and I would love to compare notes. I also think he is closet to my personality like not quite an extraverted but also not introverted. His tag on my blog is #mr.harvard man himself
His other nicknames I call him in no particular order are johnny boy, city man or city boy, east coast king, boston boy.
Cole Caufield - I could talk about this man for days. Cole holds a very dear place in my heart, he's truly a golden retriever. Cole would definitely call his girlfriend mamas. He also gives very big bi energy to me and I can't really explain it. I also ship him with Trevor Zegras like I am CONVINCED something happened when they were on the U.S development team together and I could write an essay about that if asked. His tag on my blog is # my lil bi' baby 🏳️🌈
I also sometimes call him baby boy, pretty boy (yes I am refusing nicknames sue me), my little short king. (I do have that as a tag as well on my page but it has multiple people in it.)
Trevor Zegras: I will write for Trevor, I have talked about my many thoughts on this man before. But when I write for him he doesn’t have a Mohawk in my brain. 🤣 like I am probably number one hater for his new hair, and if their are no haters left on this planet it is because I am dead.
Arber Xhekaj: I recently discovered Arber and I don’t think he has a nickname yet on my blog. When he gets one I will be sure to update my tag list. But I do find this man adorable, he seems like a kind guy despite how he acts on the ice…
————————————————————————
Players I won’t write for because THEY ARE CHILDREN. But I do occasionally post about.
Beckett Sennecke - his nickname and tag under my blog is both # my lil baby ducklin 🐥
Macklin Celebrini - his name name is baby shark. But I also call him Canucks number 1 fan. (If you know you know)
Arturs Silovs - his nickname is baby goalie and that is also his tag. (Yes I realize his nickname isn’t that orginal sue me)
Connor Bedard - Connor literally got added today and due to his first fight the other day. His nickname and also tag is #my lil scraper, you know since he’s a fighter now. 😂

42!Miles x fem!OC
Part 5 of the 42!Miles x fem!OC series
WC:1018
Lyricists and musician J. Cole once said,
There’s always gonna be a car that’s better than the one you got.
There’s always gonna be some clothes that fresher than the ones you rock
There’s always gonna be a house somewhere with bigger doors.
But you’re never gonna be happy until you love yours.
Miles was a kid that came from New York.
It wasn’t the best place to grow up in, but his parents did their best.
At first, Miles was a kid that thought success was all that he needed to be happy.
Until his parents taught him to appreciate everything that he had, even when it wasn’t a lot, to not lose sight of the people and the blessings that he had around him.
To not forget the fact that he had things in his life that might seem small at first, but are greater in value than he realizes.
To love what he has before it’s gone.
They moved him from Brooklyn Middle to Visions Academy, wanting the best for their child.
Being nothing but supportive when he got his internship at Alchemex.
And he loved everything he had, not forgetting to be grateful for the beauty in the life he had.
Then Jefferson Davis passed away, then Harmony Jones passed away.
Then the Miles Morales that everyone knew and loved passed away.
He became cold and distant.
He became an example.
The rose that grew from concrete.
A rose that grew from a crack in concrete
Proving nature’s laws wrong, he learned to walk without having feet.
Everyone watched him, thinking he was going to go downhill.
And he did, but Miles did what he had to do.
He became the vigilante of the city.
For his mom.
He learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete.
However, in his mind.
It was Long Live Harmony.
The omega of his heart.
The foundation for his conception of Love. Anytime he thought of what a black woman should be.
It was her that he thought of first.
When she was alive she would never fully understand how deeply his heart felt for her.
Miles worried that they would grow apart and in a way they did.
Harmony brought him to climax without sex.
And she did it all with regal grace.
She was
Is
His heart in human form.
Someone that he could never replace.
She was like listening to a song for the first time and knowing that it would become your favorite, the song that you could never get tired of and hoped never died.
Yet she did die.
And Miles was left with nothing but a time they had together.
A time when all things were better.
All of the moments that were gone too soon.
In his eyes at least.
Only now did he truly see how much that time with her shaped him.
Everything they had withered away.
Everything including her.
Everything except for the memories he cherished.
Memories of the two getting matching Jordan’s and taking pictures with Harmony slotted in between his legs with their shoes pointed in the same direction.
And now
Both pairs of Jordan’s faced each other, like they were going toe to toe.
One pair barely skimmed the floor.
They were torn beyond repair. Scuffed and creased with blood and grime coating the once clean white leather.
The other pair looked untouched. Like they were fresh out the box, with the exception of a few drops of blood on the dark toes of the sneaker.
Much like the owners.
One was bloodied and bruised beyond repair.
And the other was untouched.
Miles hated that he got used to the feeling of the cool metal against his skin.
He could smell the blood that was flowing from his lip.
The music that was playing on the stereo was fuzzy and his vision was blurry.
The colors around him blended into one another.
Like the red on his suit and the red from his lip.
He was caught in a dance, a painful dance that left the punching bag spinning and swaying back and forth after every blow.
His counterpart was caught in a trace.
Intrigued in how far he could go.
How much he could take before he tapped out.
It’s like he was caught in a spell.
He wanted to push every button until he finally broke.
He was tired of being trapped in his mind.
Being wrapped in some lie.
Miles had to lie.
Lie as if he didn’t see the bright colors of orange, red, blue, and purple through the window.
Lie as if his spidey sense didn’t go off 10 minutes ago.
Lie as if he didn’t see them on the beam where Prowler made his first appearance.
Lies as if he didn’t see Harmony roped in the gang of spider people.
Harmony’s breath hitched as she laid her eyes on Miles.
He was looking right at her.
His eyes were dull and sunken in, but they were still the same golden color as before.
The hair that Harmony was used to being out was put away in two braids that barley touched his shoulders.
Miles’ body was clad in black and chains with a bright prominent purple Prowler symbol painted on his chest.
He was lankier than her Miles and he was a little shorter.
But he was still Miles nonetheless.
“Harmony?”
Her name rolled off his tongue smoothly and he looked at her like he lived for her.
Miles now knew what lyricists and musician J. Cole meant as he watched his Harmony look at his alternate with such emotion and vice versa.
He looked at her like she shined like the paten leather on his new 11’s, like she was the Bible and he was the reverend. Like she was his world.
There’s no such thing as having something better than what you have.
There was no such thing that was better than having Harmony Jones.
Not even Gwen Stacy.
Miles’ eyes flickered back and forth between Harmony and the people behind her.
Oh.

US rapper J Cole surprised fans by dropping his new project Might Delete Later on Friday (5 April), but almost immediately drew condemnation due to what people are describing as transphobic lyrics on his track “Pi”. J Cole was originally mentored by Jay-Z, but in recent years the “Middle Child” and “Deja Vu” hitmaker has turned away from mainstream commercial success and began to forge his own path: a path that has recently led to a very public beef with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The lyrics on his song “Pi” appear to be attacking a “random trans man”: “Is you a demon or is that demeanor for the ‘Gram? Tell us/They plead the fifth, I’m seeing hints of a trans fella,” J Cole raps. “In cancel culture’s vicinity, he’s no killer, trust me/Beneath his chosen identity, there is still a p***y, period,” reports XXL.

I'm really confused about the whole drake + kendrick lamar situation, do you know anything? 😭 i'd love to hear your chaotic thoughts on it!
OKAY I'M SO HERE FOR THIS TALK. my friend at school and i, we listened to the diss tracks all today, and this is the information i've gathered from a couple of sources (friends, boyfriend, etc)
let's go through the kendrake debacle (my friend came up with the name ajskdkf)
so. first of all, on the 22nd of march 2024, there was a future song where kendrick dissed drake & j. cole in a subtle manner, right? he dismisses the notion that he’s in a “big three” with drake and j. cole, rapping, it’s just big me.”
ofc, drake didn't like that. he let it linger for a couple of weeks, until april 13th 2024, where he leaked a new song named “push ups,” which had the lyrics, “you ain’t in no big three, SZA got you wiped down, travis got you wiped down, savage got you wiped down." which is clearly about kendrick, duh. drake continues to be like, "like your label, boy, you in a scope right now, and you gon’ feel the aftermath of what i write down, i’m at the top of the mountain, so you tight now"
really, really stupid, right? like come ON, these are literal 36/37 year old men!!! stop being petty!!! at least, that was my initial take on it!
it gets worse, apparently! drake, in the meantime while kendrick's writing his next diss track (💀), puts out a track on apr 19 (yes the day in which ttpd came out) called 'taylor made freestyle' WITH AI VOICES OF TUPAC AND SNOOP DOGG DISSING KENDRICK?!?!!? it did get deleted, i believe, but drake did come in the song and apparently taunt kendrick for not responding to the rap...?
it's giving middle school girl spamming her crush with texts because he's not responding. like 'come back pookie :( i miss you, talk to me, respond already hiss hiss boooo!'
this is where it gets really interesting though. on april 30th 2024, kendrick finally responds, with a track titled 'euphoria' which begins the incessant back-and-forth between the two rappers (smh). he disses drake's parenting style, his rumoured plastic surgery and his rapping abilities - mocking the use of ai too to help drake write! kendrick released another one on may 3rd 2024 called '6:16 in la', and god, it's all just ajskjdkfl.
drake is pissy, to put it simply. that very same day, on may 3rd, he releases a EIGHT MINUTE LONG TRACK to diss kendrick, and speculate about kendrick's relationship with his fiancee and questioning the father of kendrick's child.
that next day, on may 4th 2024, kendrick releases meet the grahams... just go listen to the song. it's insane.
and finally, that same day, kendrick releases 'not like us'.... it's a BOMBSHELL. he accuses drake of misogyny, pedophilia and literally says he wants drake dead!
idk if anything else is happening but i'm just like... shocked. my summary of this is: it should be a police report against drake, not a diss track, kendrick!!!

Mez and Isaiah Rashad Collab for Soulful Love Song "Hot Spot"
Mez's elite pen game and strong sense of visual creativity has endeared him to some of the biggest names in rap history. Teeing up his latest high-profile connection, Mez shares "Hot Spot," his new song with Isaiah Rashad. Produced by Monte Booker, Phoelix & Cam O'bi, "Hot Spot" is a Southern-fried slow jam, populated with sensually spindly guitars and a soulful choir bringing the emotion home. Mez works a sing-song flow, sliding between the snares with double-time pledges of devotion: "I'm the plug and you're the outlet, and I really love your outfit/But that sh*t would look much better on the floor," croons Mez. Isaiah Rashad takes a different perspective, reflecting on all the connections he might have missed while living life on the road. Together, the two rappers create a cerebral and yearning anthem for those who haven't yet given up on modern romance. "Hot Spot" is Mez's second high-quality song of 2024, following the vibrant "Call On" ft. Kurtis Wells and its inventive music video.
Mez's upcoming EP is the culmination of his long journey through the music industry. Emerging out of Raleigh in the early 2010s, Mez was a leading light in a fertile NC rap scene that birthed underground and mainstream stars. Mez's sharp lyrics and assured artistic vision helped convince some of music's biggest stars to trust him with their creative visions. Then known as "King Mez," the rapper was one of the driving forces behind Compton, Dr. Dre's long-awaited third album, appearing on nine tracks and writing on several others–his efforts drew praise from the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, Vulture, and many others. Mez has been a regular affiliate of his friend and fellow North Carolinian J. Cole, and has contributed several verses to Dreamville compilations, including Revenge Of The Dreamers III and last year's Creed III: The Soundtrack. Mez is also a renowned video director, stepping behind the camera for clips like J. Cole's "Middle Child" and "a m a r i," Dreamville's "Sleep Deprived" (on which he also raps), plus videos for Ari Lennox, Isaiah Rashad, and more.
Now, Mez steps back into the forefront, armed with his own message and more than enough talent to make it known. Stay tuned for much more from the multi-talented artist in the near future, including the Mez's self-directed video for "Hot Spot," coming next week.
