Lindsay Mendez cast her Broadway co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff as ring bearer and officiant, respectively, in her New York City nuptials to fellow actor J. Alex Brinson.
Her 3-year-old daughter, Lucy, from her marriage to Philip Wakefield, also played a major part in the intimate Central Park ceremony: She stood by her mom’s side as the flower girl.

Have a seat, Mr. Watkins. We are gonna talk about your future.
Really?
What are your plans after the Bar?
Assuming I pass?
You'll pass. And then... prosecutor? You've seen a lot of trials.
Well, I don't know. Felony court's no joke.
Follows the dedicated, chaotic, hopeful, and sometimes absurd lives of the judges, assistant district attorneys, and public defenders as they work with bailiffs, clerks, cops and jurors to bring justice to the people of Los Angeles.
Cast (thus far)
Simone Missick (Luke Cage) as Lola. Over the course of her impressive career as a Deputy District Attorney, Lola was known to be independent, formidable and, occasionally, wildly impulsive. As a newly appointed Judge, Lola suddenly has more power. So, she doesn’t sit back on the bench; Lola leans in — immediately pushing boundaries and challenging expectations of what a judge should be. (Mar 22)
Marg Helgenberger (CSI) as Judge Judith, who broke the glass ceiling by becoming one of the rare female judges in California. Originally a progressive voice from the bench, over time she has become an entrenched member of the judicial establishment. As Supervising Judge, Judith is a powerful and influential figure who oversees Lola’s transition to judge — and through that relationship, she will rediscover her passion for justice. (Mar 18)
Ruthie Ann Miles (The King and I) as Sherri. As Lola’s Judicial Assistant, Sherri is The Gatekeeper; she controls the schedule, the witness lists, the flow of paperwork — everything. She can make defendants sit in the lockup and wait all day for the next appearance, or she can find a way to get them in and out before her morning coffee gets cold. Efficient, pragmatic and armed with wickedly dry sense of humor, Sherri isn’t thrilled she has to “train” Lola — a rookie judge. (Mar 25)
Jessica Camacho (Taken) as Emily Lopez-Berarro, a tough and determined public defender who is undaunted in her efforts to prove her clients’ innocence. (Feb 20)
Lindsay Mendez (Carousel) as Sara, an ebullient, optimistic court reporter who has surprising hidden talents. A close friend to Emily, Sara hosts the Courthouse poker games and is a reliable source for gossip and courthouse intel. (Mar 25)
Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie) as Mark, a roguish, highly successful Deputy District Attorney whose best friend and colleague Lola has just been appointed a judge. Never great with boundaries, Mark struggles with the personal and professional changes in their relationship. (Mar 8)
J. Alex Brinson (Travelers) as Luke. Wholesome, generous and hardworking, Luke is a bailiff by day and law student by night, determined to move up in the world by becoming a lawyer. (Mar 11)

Lindsay Mendez, nominated for a Tony in “Merrily We Roll Along,” married actor J. Alex Brinson in a Monday ceremony officiated by castmate Jonathan Groff. Daniel Radcliffe was their ring bearer.
On Broadway, with most shows shuttered, Monday is typically the day actors and crews rest and recharge.
Or, if you’re Lindsay Michelle Mendez and John Alex Brinson, it’s the day you get married.
Ms. Mendez currently stars as Mary Flynn in the musical “Merrily We Roll Along,” so the wedding was planned not just around her schedule, but that of the officiant and ring bearer’s, too — Ms. Mendez’s castmates Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe.
Ms. Mendez said her castmates Mr. Groff, who was previously ordained by the Universal Life Church, and Mr. Radcliffe had played an important role in her relationship journey with Mr. Brinson. “They’ve become our really, really close friends in real life,” she said. “It just felt appropriate for Jon to marry us and for Dan to be our ring bearer.”
Several Times a Minister Mr. Groff has officiated other weddings, including the nuptials of his former “Hamilton” castmate Phillipa Soo and the actor Steven Pasquale.

Judges are strongly discouraged from using public areas of the courthouse.
— Not a law. Not even a rule.
No. Accepted wisdom.
— Fine. Maybe, I’ll go later.
