1. ALBA GARCÍA MARTÍNEZ, 2020. Games as an Art Medium: Critical Art Game Exhibitions in the Twenty-first Century. The International Journal of New Media, Technology and the Arts, 15(1), pp. 21-39. The text by Alba García Martínez discusses games as an art medium and critical exhibitions of art games in the 21st century. It goes further to look at how video games as a kind of artistic presentation and the meaning of critical art games shown in modern culture.
The quality of it is good because it provides views on how games are now recognized as art. For my studies in the art of game art and design, I chose this book because it provides a deeper insight into the artistry of games and the ways they can be showcased in contemporary art. This article has helped me in developing strategies for making an artful type of game.
2. Alva Noë, Strange Games, Puppy Play and Exhaustive Intelligibility: A Response to Thi Nguyen’s Games: Agency as Art, Analysis, Volume 81, Issue 2, April 2021, Pages 306–317
Alva Noë’s text serves as a response to Thi Nguyen’s writing about gaming being considered art. In reply to Nguyen’s position on agency in games as art, Noe talks about such concepts as strange games, puppy play, and exhaustive intelligibility. This discussion entails conceptions of “agency” and experience as it relates to games.
The text is good as it deals with an abstract philosophical discussion about the games and their aesthetic nature. Since my course was related to game art and design, I opted for that because it looked at the subtle philosophies behind games being considered an art form. It is very helpful since it provides me with more insights into various theories related to designing games and aesthetics.
3. Caiman, C. and Jakobson, B. (2021). Aesthetic experience and imagination in early elementary school science – a growth of ‘Science–Art–Language–Game’. International Journal of Science Education, 44(5), pp.833–853.
The article by Caiman and Jakobson delves into the exploration of an innovative educational framework called 'Science–Art–Language–Game' that aims to integrate aesthetic experience, imagination, and interdisciplinary learning in early elementary school science. Its main focus lies on highlighting the interconnections between science, art, language, and games with the ultimate goal of enhancing students' understanding and involvement in scientific education.
This particular text stands out for its exceptional quality due to its incorporation of various disciplines such as science, art, language studies, and game theory within the field of education. I chose this piece specifically because it serves as a source of inspiration for creative approaches toward integrating diverse elements into designing educational games. It is highly valuable since it provides insights into fostering a comprehensive and captivating learning environment which aligns perfectly with my own interests in developing multi-faceted educational games.
4. Clegg, M. (2018). ‘The Art Game’: Television, Monitor, and British Art at the turn of the 1960s. British Art Studies, (8)
Clegg’s text scrutinizes “The Art Game,” focusing on how television screens, British art, and monitors intersected in the early 1960s. Finally, it examines how these visual media impacted and reshaped art in this period.
The quality of the text comes from the detailed investigation of the connections between TV shows, screen, and art at a key time for British art. This is why I picked a book that discussed the relationship between visual technologies and art and the ways they are integrated into the era of gaming art and design. I found this book very interesting and I used it to gain an understanding of how art changes together with the emerging new media. More importantly for all of us, contemporary game design requires such a context.
5. Juho Hamari, David J. Shernoff, Elizabeth Rowe, Brianno Coller, Jodi Asbell-Clarke, Teon Edwards, Challenging games help students learn: An empirical study on engagement, flow, and immersion in game-based learning, Computers in Human Behavior, Volume 54,2016, Pages 170-179,
A study by Juho Hamari et al. investigates the effects of tougher games on student engagement as well as their sense of flow and immersion in a gaming environment. In essence, it argues that challenging class activities promote engrossment which leads learners into flow and absorption states. The authors based this on empirical research.
It is considered of high quality considering it employs an empirical approach, flow, and immersion which are well-established concepts, and has been published through Computers in Human Behavior which is a reputable journal. I found this article relevant to my field of study in game art a design because it enlightens on how to develop tough learning-friendly games for students.
6. Kühn-Botma, L. (2023). Video Games, Art-Making, and Digital Commemorative Narratives. de arte, pp.1–20.
Kuhen-Botma’s article addresses the intersections of digital commemorative narratives, artistic creativity, and video games. The article in short examines video game-based platforms for the expression of art and the narrative of commemoration.
The text is at a high level because it addresses the innovative usage of video games as an art medium as well as in-memory storytelling. I chose it for its suitability relating to my training in game art and design to reveal how video games go beyond only entertaining. As such, this work enlarged my vision regarding the power of games for telling stories and representing remembrance as an art.
7. Pitman, T. (2023). ‘Go Outside and Play It!’: A Scenographic Approach to Finding Aura in Sci-Fi, Cli-Fi, Augmented Reality Art Game, Sin Sol/No Sun. Romance Studies, 41(1), pp.65–85.
Pitman’s text considers the scenographic notion of aura applied to the sci-fi and cli-fi augmented reality art game “Sin Sol/No Sun.” It concludes that scenography creates immersive experiences with meaningful implications. To this effect, players are enjoying.
This makes the text a qualitative one as it highlights a special meeting point between AR, sci-fi, and cli-fi in view of a scenographic background. I chose this piece for its visionary approach to designing games and was published in “Romance Studies.” This work serves as an inspiration for me as a student of game art and design, giving hints at how to make interactive experiences where virtual space extends beyond computer interfaces and becomes coherent with.
8. Pierce-Grove, R. (2014). Pressing Play: Digital Game Techniques and Interactive Art. Games and Culture, 9(6), 468-479.
The text by Pierce-Grove explores the intersection of digital game techniques and interactive art, emphasizing how game design principles are employed in the creation of interactive artistic experiences. In summary, it examines the ways in which elements from the world of digital games can enhance and inform interactive art.
The text is high quality as it provides a thoughtful analysis of the crossover between game design and interactive art, offering insights into the creative potential of merging these domains. I selected it for its relevance to my studies in game art and design, as it enhances my understanding of how game techniques can be applied in broader interactive contexts. This work is valuable as it inspires creative possibilities in designing immersive and engaging interactive art experiences.
9. PATTON, R.M., 2014. Games That Art Educators Play: Games in the Historical and Cultural Context of Art Education. Studies in Art Education, 55(3), pp. 241-252.
Text by Paton investigates employing games in the historical and cultural context for instruction in art education. Finally, it details multiple arts used by instructors in the context of art education based on history and culture.
This text is well above par by showing an academic inquiry into the junction of game studies and educational art with its different approaches on how various games are implemented into pedagogy. Therefore, I chose it due to its relation with studying game art and design, providing a comprehensive approach on cultural and historical factors on use of games educationally.Therefore, this study is important because it helps me understand the cultural background in which the educational games are embedded to make my designs more meaningful.
10. Winegar, J. (2008) 'The humanity game: art, Islam, and the war on terror', Anthropological Quarterly, 81(3), 651
Winegar’s text examines the intersections of art, Islam, and the war against terrorism using what they call “The Humanity game”. Summarily, it shows how artists’ expressions in Islamic communities reacted and navigated through the conflict created by the war against terror
The text is of good quality for offering an anthropological viewpoint on the tangled interactions of art, culture, and geopolitics. My choice was motivated by the original method used to view international occurrences in light of art making and their significance. As a game art and design student, this work is helpful for me since it widens my understanding of such numerous factors that may define and find their reflection in game design forcing one to adopt a more culturally competent standpoint while working creatively.

Pernikahan Indonesia-Spanyol
HI!
Aku punya sedikit informasi dari sekian panjangnya birokrasi yang terbentang antara benua eropa dan asia. Kenapa spesifik dua benua tersebut, karena sama-sama kita ketahui, atau sekalian aku beri informasi, aku sudah menikah, aku curi nama belakang seorang pria berkebangsaan spanyol, dan aku peluk cinta nya erat-erat di sanubariku. Huuu
Yaudah.
Kisah cinta kita berdua berjalan begitu-begitu saja, cuma jikalau diingat-ingat, perjalanan hingga di titik kita memandang langit yang sama dan sebelah-sebelahan itu panjang banget. Aku potong aja ya, dimulai dari kita merencanakan matang-matang akan bagaimana eksekusi pernikahan kita. Kali ini, info nya terkait dengan kebutuhan birokrasi.
Setelah perdebatan panjang dan dimenangkan oleh kuasa atas nama budaya Indonesia, kita sepakat untuk menikah baik-baik secara dokumen dan pesta di Jakarta. Untuk itu, kita berdua waktu itu bener-bener sibuk sama urusan di walikota masing-masing. Singkatnya skema dokumen pernikahan itu kaya gini :
1. Dokumen Sipil
2. Kedutaan
3. KUA
4. Menikah
Ya, gitu aja sebenernya. Seandainya di 4 poin itu birokrasinya biasa aja. Nyatanya engga.
Pertama, goal ku itu sampai submit dokumen di KUA di domisiliku untuk minta surat numpang menikah. Dokumen satu persatu yang dibutuhkan :
1. Surat Pengantar, sesuai dengan Birokrasi (RT-RW)
Didapat dengan cara pergi ke rumahnya Pak RT dan bilang, “Pak saya mau bikin surat pengantar untuk menikah”. Kelar. Ngga ada info berarti karena jenis Pak RT beda-beda, tergantung juga sama tingkat persahabatan kalian sama Pak RT masing-masing. Surat ini ditanda tangani oleh Pak RT, Ayah Kandung, dan Pak RW. Pastikan aja semuanya berada disekitar kalian biar ngga repot kesana kemari.
2. Surat N1, dan surat keterangan domisili.
Di dapat dengan cara pergi ke kecamatan
a. Melampirkan surat pengantar dari RT
b. Fotokopi akta lahir
c. Fotokopi KTP
d. Fotokopi KTP ayah kandung
Lagi, untuk semua kecamatan mungkin akan berbeda. Karena di kecamatan tempatku tinggal, mereka ngga mengeluarkan surat N2 dan N3. Mereka punya format N1 dan surat domisili yang merupakan peleburan dari surat N2 dan N3.
Setelah semua siap, dokumen tersebut di bawa ke KUA domisiliku untuk dapat surat numpang nikah. Semua persyaratan nikah ngga perlu dilampirkan di tahap ini. dilampirkannya nanti di KUA sungguhan tempat kita akan menikah. KUA akan mengeluarkan:

Surat di dapat tentu saja dengan drama dan bayar uang selipan buat orang yang mengurus dokumenku. Classic bribery J
Sudah. Itu dari sisiku, selesai di tahap tersebut.
Goal selanjutnya adalah Kedutaan untuk dapat surat pengantar pernikahan dari kedutaan.
Ivan sebagai WNA harus mempersiapkan dokumen dia di city hall untuk dilampirkan di Kedutaan nanti, dokumennya adalah :
1. CNI (Certificate no Impediment)
Karena Ivan orang Spanyol dan tidak tinggal di Jakarta, maka dia harus bikin CNI di tempat asal dia, bukan di Kedutaan Spanyol Jakarta. Kalau pacarmu orang Spanyol tinggal di Jakarta, bikinnya di Kedutaan Spanyol Jakarta.
2. Akta Lahir
Info : akta lahir di Spanyol formatnya berbeda dengan akta lahir Indonesia. Terdiri dari 2 dokumen. Dokumen 1 untuk data diri nya dia, dokumen 2. Itu ada nama bapak, ibu, dokter, sampe bidan yang bantu masa kelahiran. Juga ngga berlaku seumur hidup, dalam arti setiap mereka butuh dokumen ini, mereka harus bikin baru dan berlaku hanya 3 bulan. Kenapa? Ngga tau. Seneng betul ribet memang mereka.
3. Surat Keterangan Domisili
4. Surat Keterangan hidup (belum atau sudah menikah)
5. Fotocopy KTP
6. Fotocopy Passpor
Sudah selesai dokumen tersebut, tugas kami selanjutnya adalah menerjemahkan dokumen. Iya, udah sepanjang ini kisah kita belum berakhir.
Semua dokumenku yang berbahasa Indonesia harus di terjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Spanyol. Dokumenku adalah :
1. Surat N1 dan surat domisili
2. Surat N7 dari KUA
3. Scan Akta lahir
4. Scan kartu keluarga
5. Scan KTP
6. Scan passport
Dilampirkan bersama dengan scan dokumen nya Ivan dan dikirimkan via e-mail ke Kedutaan Spanyol Jakarta. Untuk terjemahan, kedutaan ngga rewel sih, Ivan yang terjemahin dokumenku ngga pakai penerjemah tersumpah. Setelah di e-mail, mereka akan verifikasi data kita dan dalam waktu 3-5 hari kita akan dapat email balasan tentang kapan jadwal interview kita.

Iya selesai dapet surat izin nikah, tapi belum bisa menikah, karena ya harus di submit dulu di KUA hehe. Cinta aja memang ngga cukup untuk apapun. Ngga bahkan untuk menikah.
Goal ku selanjutnya adalah KUA sungguhan dimana aku akan melangsungkan pernikahan.
Dokumen yang dibutuhkan, pada dasarnya adalah dokumen yang sudah aku punya. Gitu gitu aja. Aku rangkum deh :
1. Surat Izin menikah dari RT
2. Surat N1 dan Surat domisili
3. Surat N7 (numpang menikah)
4. Fotocopy Akta lahir
5. Fotocopy Kartu Keluarga
6. KTP Ayah Kandung
7. Fotocopy pendidikan terakhir. (ngga tau kalau di KUA lain)
8. Foto kedua calon pengantin 2x3 (4 lembar) 3x4 (3 lembar) dengan latar biru.
Dari sisi Ivan sebagai WNA juga sama, dokumennya itu itu aja, informasi lainnya semua dokumen WNA yang dilampirkan itu adalah dokumen asli dan copy, serta terjemahan asli dan copy.

4. Surat Keterangan hidup (belum atau sudah menikah)
5. Fotocopy KTP
6. Fotocopy Passpor
7. Surat keterangan menikah dari kedutaan
8. Surat keterangan Mualaf
Yang bikin ribet adalah … ya betul terjemahin lagi. Semua dokumen asli ivan harus diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia agar supaya KUA mau menerima kami. Dokumen harus diterjemahkan oleh penerjemah tersumpah. Ngga ada tuh kasusnya aku bisa terjemahin dokumen sendiri kaya Ivan.
Aku menggunakan jasa penerjemah ibu Alba Liliana Sanchez. Beliau banyak bantu banget, diluar dari tugasnya dia sebagai penerjemah, dia juga notaris dan mengerti banyak hal tentang hal-hal ribet berkenaan dengan birokrasi.
Untuk penerjemahan sebenernya Kedutaan Spanyol sendiri ngga punya daftar penerjemah tersumpah, cuma Ibu Alba pun memang bukan penerjemah tersumpah, tapi beliau penerjemah resmi HPI dan masuk ke dalam daftar penerjemah yang diakui oleh kedutaan spanyol. Lagipula sejujurnya, aku ngga yakin KUA ngga bener-bener tau mana yang tersumpah mana yang bukan J
Beberapa dokumen tambahan seperti, surat keterangan imunisasi, atau surat kepolisian untuk WNA di KUA Pasar Minggu ngga diminta. Proses yang berlangsung disana itu biasa aja. Cukup membawa dokumen diatas, isi beberapa formulir, tanda tangan dan bayar uang Rp.600.000. semua tidak ribet sampai akhirnya masuk ke proses pembayaran. KUA Pasar Minggu (ngga tau kalo KUA yang lain) mereka ngga terima pembayaran cash, tapi tidak juga bisa proses elektronik (ATM atau kartu kredit) atau transfer. Well, tapi ngga apa-apa sih, tanda tangan bisa di meja akad kok.

Italy and Spain struggle to maintain perfect starts in Euro 2020 qualifying
Spain took a step closer to qualifying for Euro 2020 on Thursday after surviving a scare in Romania to win a 2-1 win and retain its 100% record, while Italy also kept its perfect start with a 3-1 victory in Armenia.
A penalty in the first half for Sergio Ramos and a superb team goal ended by Paco Alcacer was barely enough for Spain in Bucharest. They broke their five-in-five record to maintain their five-point lead atop Group F in their opening game. Since Luis Enrique left his coaching position in June to care for his daughter Xana, who died of bone cancer.

2015: The Bearding Timeline (pt. 1)
Newbies were freaking out last week because of the picture on Josh’s Instagram. As bas as it was, it wasn’t nearly as bad as 2015. I wasn’t in the Kaylor fandom in 2015, but I was following Taylor at the time, so I had a good idea of the stunt in 2015 before I did my research. So here is the timeline of Taylor’s and Karlie’s bearding in 2015. Pictures are linked on words and dates (should I add them?).
Remember that Kissgate was in December 2014 and that everything in 2015 is the consequence of that event. Calvin Harris was Taylor’s 'boyfriend’ for 15 months. Joshua Kushner has been Karlie’s 'boyfriend’ since 2012.
I excluded all likes about Tayvin by Taylor, Josh’s comments on Karlie’s Instagram posts (he commented a lot of 🍉), The Kloss’ likes, Taylor’s likes on Calvin’s Instagram and vice versa, and same for Karlie and Josh.
I don’t particularly like talking about Josh for reasons, but I felt like this was needed for anyone who wasn’t there in 2015. I should say that I won’t call Calvin or Josh any names or assume their sexuality here. That doesn’t mean that I like Calvin. On the contrary, I dislike him for various things but calling him names, for me, is unnecessary.

As Taylor and Calvin walked out of the restaurant hand in hand, they unclasped their hands seconds after the paps took pictures and Calvin would have pushed her inside the car if there weren’t any paps. Karlie is seen for the first time arriving at Taylor’s apartment in 2015. Gigi Hadid and Calvin are also there and the picture for Karlie’s 23rd birthday that Taylor posted was taken there.
May 29: Calvin is photographed leaving Taylor’s apartment.
June 7: Karlie and Josh go grocery shopping after hiking.
June 8: Gigi posts a picture of her, Calvin and Karlie in Taylor’s kitchen for the National Best Friend Day (but she barely knows him yet uses a picture with him).
June 10: Taylor posts the “Swan goals” picture. This is the first picture she has of her ‘boyfriend’ on her SM, but she said in 2014 that her next relationship would be kept private. Also, most likely a latergram (and her hair is completely dry).
June 12: Karlie posts a picture (collage) made by a fan of Josh and her at the 2014 US Open, an event where they looked like they didn't want to be there, for his birthday.

July 1: Taylor and Calvin eat lunch together in RI. Taylor has to rely on fans to take pictures.
July 2: Calvin posts a picture of Taylor with the caption “She cooks too” which is sexist (but Tayvins failed to point that out).
July 3: Taylor decides to celebrate the Fourth of July on the Third of July to get pictures of her and Calvin because Calvin has a show on the fourth.
July 9: Karlie posts a picture taken by Josh and Josh posts a picture of his and Karlie’s feet a day before Karlie goes to Taylor’s concert.
July 17: Calvin says in an interview “For me it could be a lot worse, and I'd still be, like, insanely happy with her so I'm good with it”, but in most pictures of them together, he doesn’t look happy. “There’s a hold bunch of times where we’ve been hanging out and nobody’s clocked it. It’s not like every single time we go out, we get a photograph taken of us” which is the opposite of their highly Instagrammed relationship.
July 18: Taylor tries to tell people that Calvin is her prince Charming and Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in Chicago.
July 19: Josh posts a picture of Karlie in Rome.
August 1: Karlie and Josh are photographed in NYC. Here’s a post talking about it.
August 3: Karlie’s birthday a.k.a International Watermelon Day 🍉. Taylor decides to post a PR post for Karlie’s birthday pic on SM, but the only problem is that Calvin is the main focus of the picture. Josh also takes the opportunity to use the watermelon in his caption for his birthday post. Karlie comments on Josh’s post with ❤️😍❤️ (she also comments on a fan’s post for her with Thank you so much @swiftkloss ❤️😍❤️ xxxx).
August 11: Calvin ‘catsits’ Taylor’s cats while she goes to a party.
August 17: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram.
August 25: Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in LA.
September 20: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram.
October 27: Calvin attends Taylor’s concert in Miami.
October 31: Karlie and Josh attend a wedding together.
November 1: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram of the wedding they went to.
November 15: Karlie and Lorde attend Satuday Night Live’s afterparty. Josh is pictured there.
November 16: Taylor posts a picture on Instagram of Olivia Benson with Mariska Hargitay’s Moon Man and an hour later she edits the caption and adds “photocredit: @calvinharris”.
December 13: Taylor doesn’t celebrate her birthday, but she does go to a birthday party for Apple streaming’s head’s daughter with Calvin. She and Calvin are the only celebrities photographed there.
December 21: Josh posts a picture of Karlie on Instagram a day after the 1989 World Tour Live is released.
December 23: Calvin goes to see her in Colorado and they try to make it look like he’s spending Christmas with her by posting pictures on Instagram, but the dates don’t line up.
December 24: Taylor posts a picture of her and Calvin on Instagram.
December 27-31: Karlie goes to St-Barths and tries to make it seem like Josh was there with her.
December 31: Taylor, Ruby Rose, and the Haim sisters go to Calvin’s set in LV for the countdown.
Well that sums up most of the bearding in 2015. A reminder for newbies that 2015 was the worst year for Kaylor. You know what they say, couples that beard together, stay together.

Just to conclude Tayvin, they broke up in early June 2016. Josh and Karlie are still together (see Josh’s Instagram). If there are any questions about them, my inbox is open. Don’t think that Kaylor is not real because of Josh, there are many reasons why they are bearding together, so do not have doubts when it comes to Josh. Coachella (April 14-16 & 21-23) is soon and they usually go together, so we should expect some pics there (hopefully they’ll skip this year). They haven’t been following their past patterns and have been doing minimal interactions in 2017 (snow pic, the watermelon pic, and the Turks & Caicos pics).

Spain, Italy survive a scare in Euro 2020 qualifying

Paris: Spain took a step closer to qualification for Euro 2020 on Thursday after surviving a scare in Romania to win 2-1 and continue their 100 per cent record, while Italy also kept their perfect start with a 3-1 win in Armenia.
A Sergio Ramos first-half penalty and a beautiful team goal finished off by Paco Alcacer were just about enough for Spain in Bucharest, made their record five wins from five and maintain their five-point lead at the top of Group F.
They are followed by Sweden, who are on 10 points after thrashing the Faroe Islands 4-0, and Norway a further two points back after their comfortable 2-0 over Malta.
Ramos got the ball rolling for the away side from the spot after Dani Ceballos was brought down by Ciprian Deac, and the points looked secure two minutes after the break when Alcacer tapped home Jordi Alba’s cross following a sensational pass from Ceballos.
However substitute Florin Andone made an almost immediate impact when he nipped in front of Ramos to nod one back just before the hour mark, and the hosts soon had the wind in their sails.
They received a further boost 11 minutes from time when Diego Llorente clumsily took down George Puscas as he raced towards goal in search of a leveller.
It proved to not be Puscas’ night as he saw two stoppage time efforts brilliantly saved by Spain stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga, the first a smart snap shot and the second a header from point-blank range, with the rebound then blazed over to leave Romanian heads in hands.
Spain coach Robert Moreno said the nature of the victory would serve his team well in the long run.
“This will make us grow as a team, we had to defend together and attack quickly, I think this could be good for us, we should congratulate ourselves for getting this result and we’re very happy” he said.
“We knew Romania would put us under pressure until the end, they did that against Sweden and Norway when they were losing in the last few minutes and managed to score. It’s a shame we couldn’t score more as we created a lot of chances.”
Earlier Italy strengthen their grip on Group J after coming from behind to see off Armenia thanks to a Andrea Belotti brace and Lorenzo Pellegrini’s first international goal.
Roberto Mancini’s side are three points ahead of second-placed Finland, 1-0 victors over Greece thanks to a Teemu Pukki penalty, and seven ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina in third after the win in Yerevan, which came despite the Italians trailing after 11 minutes when Aleksandre Karapetyan.
Torino captain Belotti got Italy back level on 28 minutes before Karapetyan went from hero to villain by being sent off in first half stoppage time for a second yellow card.
Belotti doubled his tally 10 minutes from time after substitute Pellegrini had put the away side in the lead.
“The satisfaction is to have won a game that was not at all easy,” said Mancini, who becomes the first Italy coach to win five consecutive European qualifiers in one group.
“Playing the 11 against 10 paradoxically penalised us because Armenia focused even more on defending and reduced the spaces further.
“But we had the patience to continue to attack even at the risk of exposing ourselves to counter-attack.”
David McGoldrick made sure that the Republic of Ireland staid top of Group D with a late leveller in Dublin that gave the hosts a 1-1 draw with Switzerland.
The Irish are three points in front of second-placed Denmark — 6-0 winners over Gibraltar — and six ahead of third placed Switzerland, who however have two games in hand.
