Kakucho first saw her when he was around ten years old. The orphanage was a dull place, a cluster of tired walls and hallways where children’s voices echoed until they became background noise. It rained often, and even when the sun shone, the cold made a home in the stone. There was that little girl his age, always kneeling in the courtyard, her hands busy sculpting something: mud in the summer, snow in the winter. Like a tiny architect of the ephemeral. Kakucho watched her from a distance, intrigued despite himself.
One December day, his curiosity got the better of him. Hands shoved into his pockets, he walked over, his breath fogging in the cold air. “What are you even doing?” he asked, unimpressed.
She looked up at him, her lips red from the cold, but her smile unwavering, full of pride.
“It’s my restaurant! I’m making cakes”  she said, pointing at her “plates” sculpted from snow. Kakucho raised an eyebrow. That was stupid. Dumb. Completely ridiculous. And he didn’t hold back from telling her.
 “That’s useless. You’re an idiot.”
Her smile disappeared instantly. Her small fists clenched, and her eyes welled up with tears. A second later, she was crying, sniffling loudly, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment and sadness.
Kakucho felt something twist in his stomach. He hated this. Making girls cry was cowardly. And he wasn’t a coward. Panicking, he scrambled for a way to make things right. “No, no, that’s not what I meant!” he blurted. “Your restaurant… it’s worth five stars!”
She sniffed, eyeing him suspiciously, tears still rolling down her face. “Liar.”
To prove her wrong, he did the first thing that came to mind. Without thinking, he grabbed a handful of snow and shoved it into his mouth, swallowing the icy bitterness like a complete fool. He grimaced, but forced himself to pat his stomach with exaggerated satisfaction. “It’s delicious! Now stop crying!”
But she didn’t stop.
It wasn’t until Izana returned from one of his outings with Shinichiro that the madness ended. The older boy stopped in his tracks at the sight of Kakucho, his cheeks stuffed with melting snow, looking utterly pathetic. “Are you actually brain-dead?” Izana asked before smacking him upside the head.
Kakucho got his ass thoroughly kicked, and he felt it for a while. But when he glanced behind him, he saw the girl laughing. A real laugh. Just a burst of pure joy in the middle of winter.
And strangely enough, it was worth it.
He hadn’t seen the girl since that day. He didn’t know why. Maybe a foster family had taken her in? Maybe she had simply vanished into the currents of time, the way people sometimes do. He could barely remember her face now, just a blur of winter light and teary eyes.
It was a December day like any other in his cramped apartment. The heater rattled, struggling against the cold, but he was already used to it. As always, he planned to "train" before ending his day: which, in his case, meant hunting for punks stupid enough to throw dirty looks his way.
As he made his way downstairs, he noticed something sticking out of his mailbox, buried among the usual stack of useless advertisements. A letter. It wasn’t his. The recipient’s address was nearly identical to his own; just a mistake, a careless slip from an overworked postman. He had no reason to care, but something about it caught his attention. Without thinking, he pulled it out and unfolded it. The words were scrawled in neat, careful handwriting, the loops and curves suggesting it belonged to a girl. The letter read something like this:
"They rejected my application for the pastry competition! If this keeps up, I can kiss my dream of opening my own restaurant goodbye."
Kakucho exhaled through his nose. Poor girl.
And more importantly, what a useless postman.
He was heading out anyway, and the address wasn’t far. It wouldn’t take much effort to drop it off. Not that he actually cared about the letter or the girl’s dreams, he just figured, if it were him waiting on something important, he’d want it to end up in the right hands. Besides, he’d already read it. Might as well finish the job.
8:43 PM.
The city was drowning in winter. The air was sharp, biting, filled with the distant hum of cars and flickering neon signs that painted the cracked pavement in shades of red and blue. The streets weren’t empty, but the kind of people still wandering at this hour weren’t the type you’d want to bump into. Kakucho walked with steady purpose, hands in his pockets, eyes scanning the street ahead. He knew the address was close. Maybe just a few more blocks. But then, something made him stop.
 A girl's voice.
His gaze snapped to the alley on his left.
A group of delinquents, four, maybe five, had cornered someone against a graffitied wall. A girl, small, tense, her back pressed hard against the bricks. One of the guys, the tallest, had a hand braced against the wall near her head, leaning in too close, grinning like he’d already won whatever sick little game they were playing. "C’mon, don’t be like that. We just wanna talk." His voice was all mock sweetness, dripping with sleaze."Yeah, bet you’re lonely, huh?" another one chimed in, laughing.
The girl didn’t answer. Her fingers were curled into fists, but she wasn’t stupid. She knew she was outnumbered.
Kakucho exhaled slowly, tilting his head. Wrong place. Wrong time for them. He stepped forward. His shoes crunched against the frost-covered pavement. The sound was quiet, but the effect was instant. The tallest guy turned his head, expression twisting in irritation, then in something else when he got a good look at who had just arrived. Kakucho didn’t say anything. He just stared. One of the guys shifted uneasily.
"Tch. The fuck do you want?" the leader snapped. Kakucho took another step. Then another. His shoulders relaxed, but his eyes remained cold, calculating. "You got three seconds." His voice was quiet. Deadly.
The group exchanged glances before the tall one scoffed, clicking his tongue. "Oh yeah? And what happens after three, tough guy?" Kakucho didn’t answer. He just moved.
Fast.
His fist connected with the guy’s jaw before he even had time to blink. A sickening crunch split the air as bone shattered, followed by a choked gasp as the punk crumpled to the ground, clutching his face. The others barely had time to react before Kakucho was already on the next one. God, he hated cowards. The second guy swung, a sloppy, panicked punch. Kakucho ducked under it with ease, grabbing him by the collar and slamming him face-first into the alley wall. A sharp cry, then a dull thud as the body slumped to the ground. Two left.
The third one was already backing away, shaking his head. "H-Hey man, we were just—" Kakucho didn’t care. He grabbed him by the hair and drove his knee into his stomach. Hard.
Then, silence. It all occurred so quickly.
The only sound left was the girl’s uneven breathing and the quiet dripping of blood onto the pavement. Kakucho rolled his shoulders, exhaling through his nose. He barely even felt winded. He turned to the girl, who was staring at him with wide eyes, frozen in place. "You okay?" he asked flatly, as if he hadn’t just dismantled five guys in less than a minute. She nodded quickly. Too quickly.
Kakucho was still a little pissed off. His knuckles ached from the force he had used, but it wasn’t the fight that had him irritated, it was her. Or rather, the fact that she was even out here in the first place. “Who the hell are you, anyway? Never seen you around here. What the fuck are you doing out this late?”
The girl flinched slightly at his tone but kept her pace steady beside him. “I-I’m sorry, sir…” she said softly.
Kakucho stopped walking.
Then, he laughed. Caught between amusement and disbelief. “Sir? The hell’s that about? We’re probably the same damn age.” She blinked at him, clearly caught off guard. “Oh… uh, sorry.”
Kakucho shrugged, rolling his shoulders as he started walking again. “So? What were you really doing here?”
“I was visiting a friend,” she answered.
Kakucho glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. She didn’t look like she belonged in a place like this. “Your friend lives around here? You need me to take you there?” Before she could even answer, he jerked his chin forward, motioning for her to lead the way. “C’mon, let’s go.”
She hesitated but eventually sighed, mumbling an address. Kakucho stopped in his tracks. His brows lifted slightly.
“Huh? That address?”
He pulled the letter from his pocket, flipping it around so she could see. Her reaction was immediate. She stiffened, eyes darting between the paper and him. “Wait- where the hell did you get that?!” Her voice rose, a mixture of surprise and irritation. Kakucho smirked slightly, tilting the letter lazily between his fingers. “Relax. It was in my mailbox. Some dumbass mailman must’ve screwed up.”
Her expression darkened, clearly unimpressed. “And you just decided to read it?”
Kakucho shrugged, unbothered. “What, like you wouldn’t have?” She opened her mouth to argue, but then shut it. Yeah. She probably would have. The streetlight above them flickered again, buzzing faintly before stabilizing. A cold wind howled through the alleyway, and for a moment, neither of them said anything. Kakucho tucked the letter back into his pocket. “Come on. Let’s get moving.” She exhaled sharply, shaking her head before finally stepping forward, leading the way. Kakucho followed, stuffing his hands into his jacket, the ghost of a smirk still lingering on his lips.
The walk to her friend’s place was mostly quiet. Not the uncomfortable kind, but the kind where neither of them really knew what to say. The streets were emptier now, the occasional passing car throwing brief flashes of light across the cracked pavement. Kakucho’s hands stayed deep in his pockets, his breath misting in the cold air. She walked beside him, still casting occasional glances his way, as if trying to figure something out. They finally stopped in front of a small, rundown apartment building. The dull glow of a streetlamp buzzed overhead, washing the concrete in pale orange light. Kakucho pulled the letter from his pocket and held it out. “Here. Your mail.”
She hesitated before taking it, her fingers brushing against the rough edges of the envelope. She looked down at it, then back up at him. “You didn’t have to bring it all the way here.”
Kakucho gave a lazy shrug. “Yeah, well. It was on the way.”
She sighed but smiled a little, shaking her head. “Guess I should at least know your name, then. I’m—” she started, but then stopped. Her eyes flickered over his face, locking onto something.
The scar. She finally saw it clearly with the street lights. Kakucho raised an eyebrow as her expression shifted. She took a step closer, squinting slightly under the streetlight, as if making sure she wasn’t imagining things. Then, suddenly…
“No way.” Her voice was almost a whisper. “You’re the snow eater.”
Kakucho blinked.
“The what?”
She laughed, short and disbelieving, before covering her mouth with her hand.
“Holy shit. You’re that dumbass kid from the orphanage. The one who ate snow to prove my cooking was good.”
"It's you who..." Kakucho stiffened slightly, caught between amusement, realization and mild embarrassment. He hadn’t thought about that in years. “That was a long time ago.” He exhaled. “Didn’t think you’d remember.”
“Are you kidding?” She grinned. “That was the funniest thing I’d ever seen. You looked so serious about it, too.”
Kakucho huffed, looking away. “Yeah, well. You wouldn’t stop crying. Someone had to do something.”
She laughed again, softer this time. She looked down at the letter in her hands, running her thumb over the paper. Then, after a pause, she looked up at him. “Thanks. For this. And for earlier.”
Kakucho just nodded, as if it was no big deal. Then, after a moment,
“Good luck with the whole… cooking thing.”
She tilted her head. “Cooking thing?”
“Your dream. The restaurant.” He nodded toward the letter. “Don’t let some shitty competition stop you.”
She stared at him for a second, then smiled. “You really haven’t changed, have you?”
Kakucho smirked slightly, the corner of his lips twitching upward. “Maybe.” The streetlight flickered again, and the wind picked up, carrying the distant sounds of the city. She gave him one last look before turning toward the apartment. Kakucho waited until she disappeared inside before exhaling, rolling his shoulders, and stepping back into the cold night.
Since that night, they started seeing each other more often. At first, it was coincidental: running into each other in the same streets, exchanging nods, the occasional sarcastic remark. But soon, it became intentional. A shared meal here, a conversation there. Somehow, Kakucho found himself listening when she talked about her cooking, about her dreams. He wasn’t sure why, but he didn’t mind. And then, one day, in a rare moment of honesty, he admitted something he had never really told anyone, he actually liked cooking too.
More than that, he was surprisingly good at it.
At first, she laughed, thinking he was joking. But when she challenged him to prove it, she wasn’t prepared for just how skilled he actually was. And so, in her small kitchen, under the soft hum of a radio and the scent of fresh ingredients, they cooked together for the first time.
Her apartment was small, but cozy, with warm yellow lighting that softened the edges of the old furniture. The kitchen was barely big enough for two people, yet here they were, standing shoulder to shoulder. Kakucho had his sleeves rolled up, a black apron lazily tied around his waist. She still couldn’t believe he actually agreed to this.
“Alright, ‘chef,’” she teased, leaning against the counter. “What’s on the menu?”
Kakucho smirked, cracking his knuckles. “Something simple. We’ll start with a cake.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Seriously? That’s pretty vague.”
“Tch. You’re the one who doubted me. You don’t get to complain now.” She held up her hands in surrender. “Alright, alright. Show me what you got.”
Kakucho wasted no time. He immediately started to bake everything together, violating the harmony of the place.
“You’ve done this before.”
He glanced at her, unimpressed. “No shit. What, did you think I was lying?”
She chuckled, shaking her head. “No, but… I don’t know. I didn’t picture you being the type to spend time in a kitchen.”
“Cooking’s not that different from fighting.” He tossed the cacao into the mixture. “It’s all about timing, control, and knowing how to handle the heat.”
She blinked.
“Did you just compare baking to street fighting?”
Kakucho shrugged. “It works.”
It didn’t.
Her kitchen was way too small for this. Between the bags of flour, scattered measuring spoons, and the egg that had somehow ended up on the floor (neither of them wanted to admit who dropped it), the whole place looked less like a workspace and more like the aftermath of a food fight. “This is a disaster,” she muttered, staring at the mess. Kakucho, on the other hand, looked way too excited. He had his sleeves rolled up again, but this time, there was flour smeared on his forearm, and his black apron was already stained with cocoa powder. He was gripping a metal whisk with the same intensity he usually reserved for street fights.
“Relax,” he said, cracking his neck like he was about to beat someone to death instead of… whisking eggs. “I got this.” She raised an eyebrow, immediately skeptical.
“You got this? Kakucho, you’re gripping that whisk like you’re about to stab someone with it.”
“It’s about control,” he shot back. “Baking is all about control.”
And then, before she could even react, he plunged the whisk into the bowl of eggs and sugar and started beating the absolute shit out of it. The metal bowl rattled violently against the countertop, nearly toppling over from the sheer force of his mixing.
“Kaku-chan—KAKUCHO, CALM DOWN—”
“IT NEEDS TO BE SMOOTH,” he growled, whipping the batter like it had personally offended him. Flour puffed up into the air like smoke from an explosion. She coughed, waving a hand in front of her face.
“YOU’RE GOING TO BREAK THE BOWL.”
Kakucho finally slowed down, staring at the batter like he had just won a fight against it. He huffed, satisfied. “See? Perfect.” She looked at the batter. It was smooth. Like he had bullied it into submission.
“…Okay, but did you have to beat it like it owed you money?”
Kakucho just smirked, wiping his wrist across his forehead, leaving a streak of flour there. She sighed, and grabbed the vanilla extract.
“Alright, we still need to add this. Here—” she started, but as soon as she opened the cap, Kakucho snatched the bottle out of her hands. “I got it.”
“Kaku, be careful with that, it’s—”
Before she could finish, he tipped the bottle way too fast. Half the vanilla extract dumped into the batter. A long silence stretched between them. Kakucho slowly turned his head toward her.
“That was on purpose!” He seemed proud.
“NO, IT WASN’T, YOU ABSOLUTE PSYCHOPATH.” She smacked his arm, but he just grinned. “Well, too late now.” He grabbed a spoon and tasted a bit of the batter. His expression shifted slightly, but then he nodded. “Tastes fine to me.” She sighed dramatically, pressing her fingers against her temple. “You are so lucky you’re cute.” She hadn’t even realized she said it out loud. Kakucho, who had been about to start pouring the batter into the cake pan, froze. His grip on the bowl tightened just slightly, and for once, he was the one caught off guard. She also froze.
Their eyes met over the mess of flour and eggshells, the chaos suddenly way too quiet. Then, she cleared her throat, quickly turning away to adjust the oven temperature, pretending nothing happened. “Anyway. Let’s just bake this thing and see if it’s actually edible.”
Kakucho didn’t say anything for a second. “…Yeah. Let’s do that.”
He set the bowl down and stepped a little closer, just barely brushing against her side as he reached for the pan. His hands, usually rough and calloused from fighting, moved carefully now as he smoothed the batter into the dish.
At first, Kakucho didn’t think much of it. She was just someone from the past, one of the few remnants of his childhood that had somehow stumbled back into his life. It was strange at first, seeing her so often, talking to her about things that had nothing to do with fights or gangs. She had this way of making normal things, things he never thought about before, seem important.
It took him longer than he wanted to admit to realize he had caught feelings. At first, it was just irritation: that she was always on his mind, irritation that he started looking forward to their meetings, irritation that he actually cared whether or not she got home safe. He found himself lingering near her apartment some nights, just to make sure nothing happened. He found himself remembering her favorite foods, stopping by random bakeries just to compare them to hers.
One night, when they were sitting on the floor of her apartment, eating a cake they had completely messed up, she laughed at something he said. Not just a small chuckle, but a full-on laugh, one that made her shoulders shake, one that made her eyes crinkle in that way he was starting to find annoyingly cute. And that’s when it hit him. He wanted to keep making her laugh. He wanted her to look at him the way she looked at a perfectly risen soufflé. He wanted her to stay.
Kakucho wasn’t good with words. He knew that. He wasn’t like those guys in romance movies who could smooth-talk their way into someone’s heart. But keeping it to himself? That felt worse. One evening, after another chaotic baking session that left her kitchen looking like a flour bomb had gone off, they sat on her couch, exhausted. She was flipping through a cookbook, muttering to herself about how they’d “do better next time.” Kakucho didn’t even realize he was staring until she glanced up, raising an eyebrow. “What? You got something to say?”
He exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. His heart was beating too fast, and he hated it.“Yeah.” He looked away for a second before forcing himself to meet her eyes again. “I like you.”
Her fingers stilled against the pages. “…What?”
“I like you,” he repeated, more firmly this time. “A lot.” For a second, she just stared. “Are you serious?” Kakucho’s expression darkened. “Do I look like I joke around?” She blinked before a slow, knowing smile spread across her lips. “No. But you do look like you wanna die from embarrassment right now.”
He scowled. “I’m leaving.”
“No, no! Wait! I was kidding—” she reached for his arm before he could get up, laughing. “I just—Wow. You’re really full of surprises, huh?”
Kakucho huffed but didn’t pull away. “So? What’s your answer?” She tilted her head, as if considering it. Then, instead of answering, she leaned in and pressed a soft kiss against his scarred side. Kakucho went completely still. “That answer your question?” she murmured. He swallowed hard before nodding. “…Yeah.”
Being Kakucho’s girlfriend was an experience. For someone who had spent most of his life fighting and surviving, relationships weren’t exactly something he had prior experience with. But once he decided he was all in, he was all in.
Kakucho didn’t play around when it came to her safety. If he even suspected someone was bothering her, they were lucky to walk away in one piece. He memorized her schedule, walked her home at night, and if she ever mentioned some guy making her uncomfortable? Let’s just say that guy wouldn’t be a problem anymore.
Kakucho wasn’t the type to be openly affectionate in public, but behind closed doors? He was soft. He’d pull her into his lap without a second thought, rest his chin on her shoulder, and let her trace her fingers over the scar on his face. He never talked about it, but he didn’t mind when she touched it.
>>>BONUS: timeskip
Years had passed since those chaotic, sugar-dusted days of learning how to bake together. Kakucho had never imagined his life would take this turn, that he would find purpose beyond fighting, beyond surviving. But here he was, standing in front of a building that represented everything he and Izana had worked for, an association dedicated to giving orphans around the world the chances they never had. TENJIKU.
Kakucho had never been sentimental about things like that. But now, as he watched children running through the halls of the shelter they had built, as he saw the warmth in their eyes when they were given homes, opportunities, and love, he understood. And through it all, she had been by his side.
The woman who once molded cakes out of snow now ran one of the most successful bakeries in the city. Kakucho had watched her fight for her dream with the same stubbornness she used to scold him in the kitchen. He had watched her fail, rise, and build something beautiful. And somewhere along the way, he had realized he wanted to spend forever watching her do just that. Now, she was his wife. His wife. It still sounded unreal, even after years of waking up next to her.
The scent of vanilla and caramel lingered in the air when he stepped into their home that evening. The bakery had closed hours ago, but she was still at it, testing new recipes in their personal kitchen. Kakucho leaned against the doorway, arms crossed as he watched her, his ever-present scar catching the warm glow of the kitchen lights. She was focused, biting her lip as she scribbled notes into her worn-out recipe book. He smirked. “Planning to conquer the dessert world again?” What a cringe line but it was okay, it was Kaku. His voice was rough from the cold outside, but the amusement in it was unmistakable.
She jumped slightly, turning to him with an exaggerated pout. “You’re home late.” He shrugged off his jacket, stepping closer. “Had a meeting with Izana. You know how he gets when he starts talking about expansion.”
She rolled her eyes, but the fondness in them was obvious. Izana had become a permanent fixture in their lives, and despite his usual dramatics, she adored him in her own way. “Well, you should at least eat something. I made- ” Before she could finish, Kakucho reached over, dipping his finger into the bowl of cream she had been whipping. He licked it off with an unimpressed hum. “Too sweet.”
She gasped, scandalized. “Excuse me?”
He smirked, dodging the playful slap she aimed at his arm. “What? You’re always saying you want honest feedback.”
“I meant constructive feedback, not blasphemy.” He chuckled, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close. “I’ll make it up to you.”
She raised an eyebrow, but he could see the way her eyes darkened slightly at his tone. “Oh? And how do you plan to do that?”
He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he leaned in, pressing a slow, deliberate kiss to her jaw, then lower, tracing a path toward her neck. She shivered, her fingers tightening around the front of his shirt. “You taste sweeter than your cream,” he murmured against her skin, lips curling when he felt her breath hitch.
“Kaku-”
He grinned, enjoying the way she was already melting against him. “What?” She huffed, clearly trying to regain composure. “You’re supposed to be eating dinner-”
“Who said I’m not eating?” His voice was smug, hands sliding down to grip her hips.
She swatted at his chest, laughing. “You’re impossible.”
“And you’re mine.”

(making a new post so i don't have to scroll for days getting to the bottom of it skjdfh) @ttkinnie
hell yea i've started writing it (人 •͈ᴗ•͈) except now it's hanma, takemichi AND naoto being dads skfjsh i just HAD to include that guy. i thought it'd make sense (somehow) for all three of them to get transported to the past after a time leap gone wrong. long story short naoto and (unconscious)takemichi got kidnapped shortly after naoto killed mikey, and izana wants to use their power to prevent shin's murder in the past. except izana's been torturing naoto while waiting for takemichi to wake up bc he's not exactly the most stable guy out there, esp after mikey's death. when he sees naoto's state, michi runs to him and tries to shake his hand so he can make sure this future never happens, but hanma (who was tasked with guarding takemichi while he was out cold) tries to stop him, and the moment the three of them come into contact they get sent to the past, in like 1998. now they have nothing left but the clothes on their back, and they'll have to start from scratch in this nostalgic era... and eventually realize their past friends are still there, but they're all baby. i think hanma and naoto would have some nice parallels, each living essentially for one person, giving away everything for them (hanma following kisaki's orders and naoto trying to save his sister) but now that person is gone and their version in this world doesn't even know they exist... the angst. plus naoto really looks like kisaki at times. he's got them cold blue-grey eyes too. i think hanma would like him (he's got a thing for short (average-sized but everyone's short to him) kings with murderous thoughts). naoto would just wanna kill him & kisaki & izana though (even though the last two are still kids. getting tortured really didn't help fix that side of him). takemichi is gonna have to handle these two absolute menaces to society now skfhdf (watch me make this a romantic comedy + found family somehow despite the fucked up setting i started out with)
i understand the need to make your special guy suffer u_u that's just how it is sometimes (my current fave guy to hit with hammers is naoto, i hope i can write some good stuff with him for the server too)
absolutely love these murder plots for kisaki (a normal sentence) especially the part where he makes takemichi watch helplessly *giggles cutely* and him jamming communications is a+ evil mastermind stuff (people being completely at a loss for what to do the moment you take away their usual technology from them is always super fun and scary to think about). mikey being used to lure the others into a trap?? hell yeah B-)
hehehe there's just something about villains being a little good and heroes being a little bad :^) it's unexpected it's exciting and it just freaking rules tbh
wakui writing tr's main antagonist and tr's main love interest: "what if they were both obsessed with takemichi, to the point where we find out that even a dozen years later they still hadn't moved on from him at all? yes perfect." (need to write ot3 fic for them eventually... either this or hina gets a gf. i have GOT to stop making her sit it out in the cuck chair when she could have two utterly dedicated and loving husbands instead)

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Originally started by @izanae. Thanks for the tag @lycorogue
The original Fic Writers Ask thread was super long, so like LycoRogue, I decided to create my own post for it, but please do check out the original thread.
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
I currently have 18, though I have more on FFN. 8 for Miraculous Ladybug, 5 for W.I.T.C.H, 4 for Hellsing, and 1 for Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji
2. What’s your ao3 word count?
As of this post, I have a total of 619,000 words. Wowzers...
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment, I mainly write for Hellsing and Black Butler. But I have also written for Miraculous Ladybug, W.I.T.C.H, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. Madness Within (Miraculous Ladybug) 2. Double Trouble (Hellsing) 3. Experimental Kiss (Miraculous Ladybug) 4. Destiny's Dance (Miraculous Ladybug) 5. Go and Conquer (Hellsing)
5. Do you reply to comments?
Sometimes. I always appreciate every single comment, but sometimes I don't always know how to reply without just giving a generic 'thank you' again, and again, and again. But I do read them all, I promise.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Tough one. I think if I had to pick though, it would probably be Project Darkness, an old Sonic the Hedgehog fic of mine.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I don't think I've ever done a fic with a 100% cheesy happy ending, but the happiest and closest to that would probably be Twelve Days of Chatmas (Miraculous Ladybug).
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not usually, but I have gotten hate on Madness Within (Miraculous Ladybug), which I guess was always an increased possibility due to the amount of views that story has. However, that hate has only ever been on FFN. It was mainly people bullying me over long periods between updates.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not usually, but you're more likely to see me write smut for Hellsing and Black Butler. There are some sexual scenes planned for the future in some of those fics for those fandoms. I can't see me ever doing a 'porn with no plot' fic, but it would be more like 'sexposition' and will make sense with the plot (e.g. advancing character relationships etc).
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one?
No, but I have thought about it on the odd occasion.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Oh yes, and it is so annoying! My work is usually stolen by people on Wattpad, and the most recent stolen work of mine was Destiny's Dance (Miraculous Ladybug).
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yeah, which is awesome! Amicus (Hellsing) has been translated into Spanish by ayelenrock, who is also planning on translating my other Hellsing fics into Spanish. I've had a few offers for my fics to be translated into French and Russian, however, those have yet to be published as far as I'm aware.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yeah, I co-wrote a few Sonic the Hedgehog fics with @free-in-the-wind and @jowyavilon at one point in the past. However, we didn't get very far with them and they ended up abandoned. Our lives were just too busy.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Alucard/Seras from Hellsing.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Probably Immortal Bonds (Miraculous Ladybug). I just seem to have lost all motivation for it, like with quite a few Miraculous fics of mine. It's a shame because I HATE leaving stories unfinished.
16. What are your writing strengths?
People tell me I'm good at writing realistic emotions, so I guess that would be one? A lot of people have complimented me on my accurate representation of mental illnesses. Also, apparently I'm also really good at writing realistic child characters, and they seem to always be a favourite of my readers.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Names. I'm terrible at them, and it takes me ages to settle on something. Also fight and action scenes can be quite difficult to write sometimes.
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language for a fic?
A rule I tend to use is try to imagine like it's real life. You'd probably understand, or at least discern, certain words in another language, so I tend to write those in. For example 'bonjour', or even simple sentences. However, if a character starts speaking full, long sentences in a foreign language, then I do not write this in, as it would probably just sound like gibberish from the point of view of the character I'm currently writing for. I simply point out that the other character is speaking in said language. I hope that made sense?
19. What’s the first fandom you wrote for?
W.I.T.C.H when I was, like, 10 years old or something? Back then, I didn't even know what fanfiction was, I just knew that I enjoyed writing my own stories based on the characters.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
I think I definitely have a soft spot for Double Trouble (Hellsing). I love Lily and Luna so much and they're so much fun to write!
I now no pressure tag: @pinkfluffacttuff @free-in-the-wind @inkyrable and of course anyone else who wants to take part!

WIP ask game
No one tagged me but I have a bunch of dumb names for my WIPs and it's a crime not to share them
So, rules:
Post the names of the files of your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you asks with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it. If you want, tag as many people as you have WIPs.
Some of these are future chaps, some are fics I have already posted a few chapters for. Your guess is as good as mine for some of these.
Help my brain is rotting/These are MY trials and I am failing (Maribat)
Electric boogaloo (Maribat)
Espresso the Depresso (Maribat)
Projecting onto Tim even more than usual (DC)
What if Mari was aroace in this wouldn't that be funny (Maribat)

masterpost: Pauper with a Golden Crown
“Welcome, Your Highness. To what do we owe the pleasure?” The daughter of Lord Seiran was the picture of grace.
Izana raised his cup of tea to her as she took her seat. He did not take a sip but simply held it. “I have a favor to request of you.”
She did not show her surprise but he could feel it in the air as she gazed steadily at him.
He allowed himself a smile. “It is a delicate matter.”
Lady Kiki nodded once, her whole body coiled, as if ready to take action at the slightest sign.
“You see, something of mine has surfaced in Tanburun.” Izana swirled his tea. “I need someone to retrieve it, with discretion and little fuss.” He met her gaze directly. “I believe that you can achieve this.”
He watched her consider it. “I have never been to Tanburun, Your Highness.”
Izana inclined his head in acknowledgement. “I do not foresee that causing you much difficulty.” He paused before continuing. “It may take some time and negotiation, I am aware. I will speak to your father about your duties here, if necessary.”
“Our first duty is to the crown, Your Highness,” she responded immediately. “The House of Seiran will never forget that.”
“You have my gratitude,” Izana told her. He withdrew two letters from his coat. He laid the first one on the table “This shall explain everything concerning the matter. I regret that my knowledge of the situation is incomplete, but I trust that you have ways of gathering your own information.”
Izana held the second letter out to her. “I ask that you only deliver this one to its intended recipient should all else fail.”
Expressionless, Lady Kiki accepted the letter with both hands, and then lifted the first from the table. “When should I leave, Your Highness?”
“Time is of the essence, of course.” He stood. “I leave the method of things to you, with one exception.”
She stood as well, holding the letters in one hand. The other hovered at the waist of her gown. “Of course, Your Highness.”
She was unflappable, perhaps, but he knew that she would not like what he said next. “There is someone I wish to accompany you.”

Tokyo Revengers Characters Appreciation
I've been thinking a lot recently about the series as a whole, and just how meaningful and amazing everything about it is, how many invaluable life lessons are interwoven into the story plot, into characters, and everything in between, and I just cannot stop being moved to tears constantly, if I think of how much of a genius Wakui-sensei really is! 🥹
Anyway, I decided to write all that down and share with the world, so, here it is:
‌Thank you, Hanagaki Takemichi - Crybaby Hero, for teaching us that being imperfect is ok, that we don't have to constantly strive for greatness and to impress anyone, as long as we don't lose against ourselves!
‌Thank you, Sano Manjirō - Invincible Mikey, for reminding us how important mental health is, that it's ok to cry, hurt, be 'weak', and ask for help, and thank you for giving us a reminder to check up on our friends and loved ones who seem strong and smiling, 'cause those people usually need the most help!
‌Thank you, Ryūgūji Ken - Draken, for being the realest one, and the backbone of the series! You da real bro, bro! *pats on the shoulder*
‌Thank you, Sano Emma, for being the most loving one in the story, and the epitome of all kinds of love, familial, romantic, and platonic alike!
‌Thank you, Tachibana Hinata - Hina & Tachibana Naoto, for providing us with a certain level of "normalcy" against which we can compare all other characters!
‌Thank you, Kisaki Tetta, for being the most hateable villain in the story, it would have never been the same without you being so awesomely written!
‌Thank you, Hanma Shūji - Shinigami of Kabukichō, for always being so chaotically entertaining, and a spice in every dish!
‌Thank you, Matsuno Chifuyu, for being everyone's comfort character, and showing us what a true friend, ride-or-die, and a trustworthy partner is supposed to be like!
‌Thank you, Baji Keisuke, for warning us that fighting alone all on our own leads to nothing!
‌Thank you, Hanemiya Kazutora, for showing us that healing from any bad experience is possible, that no matter how low we may fall in life, we can always get back up, as long as we are willing to admit our mistakes and face our demons!
‌Thank you, Mitsuya Takashi, for being an exemplary role model for all and any eldest siblings out there!
‌Thank you, Hayashida Haruki - Pah-Chin & Hayashi Ryōhei - Peh-yan, for being the sweetest, funniest characters in the story, and for providing us with the wholesomest bromance that ever bromanced!
‌Thank you, Kawata Nahoya - Smiley & Kawata Sōya - Angry, for always being cute, wholesome, and entertaining!
‌Thank you, Sanzu Haruchiyo - Loyal Mad Dog, for setting an example of always going an extra mile to achieve your goals, resilience, blind devotion, discipline, and not giving up! Or, simply, thank you for being that one unhinged psycho with a katana and a tragic past, that we can't help but simp for!
‌Thank you, Mutō Yasuhiro - Mūcho, for introducing our baby Haru <3 to cheesecake!
‌Thank you, Kurokawa Izana, and thank you, Terano Minami - South, for showing us that monsters are most commonly made, not born, and for pointing out that music is a good coping mechanism!
‌Thank you, Kakuchō - Brawler, for warning us to pay attention whose side we choose to be on, and who we choose to follow and attach ourselves to in life!
‌Thank you, Mochizuki Kanji - Mocchi, for showing us that honor goes beyond which side one's on.
‌Thank you, Madarame Shion - Leader of the 9th Generation of Black Dragon, for being the comic relief! (Hey, somebody's gotta do it, alright?!)
‌Thank you, Haitani Ran & Haitani Rindō for being the neverending sources of inspiration for fanarts and fanfics!
‌Thank you, Shiba Hakkai, for reminding us that we can always stand up to our abusers, and that toxic relationships should always be severed, because family is so much more than just blood!
‌Thank you, Shiba Yuzuha, for showing us what being a badass female/strong woman is all about!
‌Thank you, Shiba Taiju, for leading by example to give a helping hand when needed the most!
‌Thank you, Kokonoi Hajime - Koko, for reminding us that money does not buy happiness!
‌Thank you, Inui Seishū - Inupī, for being unapologetically blunt and always saying what needs to be said and heard!
‌Thank you, Sano Shin'ichirō, for being the Big Bro™️ of the whole series and the entire fandom!
‌Thank you, Akashi Takeomi - God of War, for giving us a warning about overindulging in hedonism, and teaching us to keep our feet grounded, lest our heads starts floating too high in the clouds, for the fall will be disastrous!
‌Thank you, Imaushi Wakasa - Waka - White Leopard & Arashi Keizō - Benkei - Redcliff, for being the coolest, most iconic, legendary duo, and parental figures to our Princess Senju!
‌Thank you, Kawaragi Senju, for being a badass ball of sunshine and a deadly cinnamon roll, and showing everyone that a girl can be a boss babe, physically strong, cute, feminine, and a tomboy, all the same time!
‌And lastly (but most importantly), thank you, Peke J, for being a cat! <3

Genre: Established Relationship, Fluff, Crack, Angst
Warning: Spoiler warnings
Synopsis: Beginning of the End ft. The In Between
Chapter 33 Chapter 34 Chapter 35
a/n: some lighthearted scenes for us all because we deserve a plot less ish chapter. A.k.a. I just needed a filler chapter.
Tumblr media
“L/N Y/N.”
Taking a deep breath, you put on a bright smile on your face as you stride over to the podium where your professors all stand, a smile on their faces as they hand you your diploma. “Congratulations.” They tell you before you both face the crowd, your eyes immediately landing on Shinichiro who’s waving his arm around before taking pictures of you. You can’t help but get teary eyed when you see grandpa, Benkei, Wakasa, your friends and the kids - the only ones missing are Izana and Kakucho who you’ve already called and said that you’ll treat them out next week to celebrate - right next to him, all of them waving around some kind of picture of you.
You would’ve felt embarrassed with how energetic they all are but you’re too caught up in your emotions as you bow at all of your professors before walking off the stage, glad that your makeup didn’t run down your cheeks from the tears that are barely being held in.
It feels surreal, finally graduating after years of hardships and stress but now, you’re being celebrated by your family.
Leading you outside and into the gardens of the university, you’re immediately met with hugs and kisses from the kids and your friends. The kids gave you cards with greetings on them while Benkei and Wakasa both gave you a hug before letting grandpa congratulate you as well. Then, right after that, your friends all attacked you with hugs, giggles leaving their lips when they forced you to turn around only to be met with Shinichiro who has the biggest smile on his face as he approaches you with arms wide open, ready to pull you into his embrace.
You don’t know why but by now, you can already feel your tears free falling down your cheeks as you run into his arms, legs wrapping around his waist which makes your friends laugh. Steadying the two of you, Shinichiro looks up at you. “Congratulations, princess. You did good, deserved it all, worked so hard.” He makes sure to punctuate every word with a kiss on your lips which elicits a giggle from you. “I’m just sorry that I wasn’t able to get you a gift.”
Cupping his cheeks, you lean down, pressing your lips against his before shaking your head. “It doesn’t matter, Shin. At least you’re all here with me.”
“Well, not yet.”
Pulling away, you give him an inquisitive look which makes the rest chuckle as Shinichiro sets you down. “Your parents aren’t here yet.” By now, you can practically hear the playful lilt in his voice as he places his hands on your shoulders, slowly turning you around as you continue to stare at him.
“What do you mean ‘yet’?”
Resting his head on your shoulder, he gently makes you look in front of you, your eyes barely catching sight of the couple in front of you, both of them still holding onto their suitcases.
“Sorry we’re late. We had to stop by and make sure that we got you your flowers.” Your dad says, a little shy as he presents the huge bouquet in front of them.
Your eyesight blurs as you feel your tears cascade down your cheeks, your form slowly leaving Shinichiro’s embrace as you hesitantly make your way to your parents, unsure of what to do with them standing right in front of you. It  feels foreign, being able to actually see them physically standing in front of you instead of the usual virtual conversations that you have with them.
“You… you came.”
“Of course we did, sweetheart. Couldn’t miss it for the world.” Your mum whispers against your hair as she pulls you into a hug as your father engulfs the two of you in a hug.
“Though Shinichiro was quite adamant on making sure that we make it back on time. He kept calling us and sending letters.” Your father adds, which makes you peek behind your mother’s back to see Shinichiro proudly taking pictures of you and your diploma, a big proud smile on his face while the others pose around the bouquets and diploma that you got.
With a teary smile, you mouth ‘I love you’ to him when the two of you make eye contact.
As your parents continue to hug you, your friends can’t help but approach Shinichiro who’s now looking over all of the pictures that he took of you during your graduation. “Hey Sano.” At the sound of Haki’s voice, your boyfriend can’t help but flinch, still a little intimidated when it comes to your friend who can’t seem to drop the act when your boyfriend’s near.
“Yes?”
“You talked to Y/N’s parents right? Into coming home for her graduation?”
Hesitantly nodding his head, he spares a glance towards your direction before focusing back on your friends. “Well, does that mean that you’re finally going to ask them?” Yui asks, a giddy smile on her face as she jumps on her spot.
“Ask them?” Shinichiro asks, brows furrowing when Haki lets out an exasperated sigh like she can’t believe that he’s this clueless over something so obvious.
“Yeah! Y’know… ask them for permission… for you know…” Sara adds, eyes looking at him expectantly, leaning towards him a little as they all wait for him to finally get what they’re talking about.
By now, Shinichiro’s starting to feel nervous, still unaware of what’s happening until it finally hits him.
“Oh!” His lips form an ‘o’ which makes the girls all sigh in relief at seeing him finally getting what they mean. “That! Yes! I-I’m actually planning to talk to them later… her dad already knows…” With a bashful smile, Shinichiro scratches the back of his neck as his hand unconsciously makes its way to his chain necklace, an accessory of his that you’ve definitely fallen in love with over the past years.
“I’m already thinking about ho-” Shinichiro gets cut off when they hear you calling for him which immediately got the girls pushing him towards you, frantic and eager to get your boyfriend back to your side.
With one final look in your direction, your friends all let out a sigh of relief, fist bumping each other. “Mission Y/N and Shinichiro love team is a go. We’re making this relationship last forever even if it costs us our own!” They all whisper to each other, unaware of the weirded out look that Manjiro and his friends are giving them.
“Can’t believe Y/N’s friends are all weirdos…” Keisuke whispers to Manjiro who secretly nods, the kids all running away when your friends look towards the kids.

(boring timeline shit yippee 👍) ok so w the band au i envision that its abt 6 years after 2005 so its set around 2011.
with that, takemichi's in his 2nd year of junior high in the first arc of tokyorev so in the au hez 20, which is the exact legal age of drinking in Japan. kisaki's one year younger than him which is kinda fitting cuz as the manager hez kantou's designated driver and the band's known for being party animals, and it wouldn't be very safe to have some drunken men driving around now would it? (even tho i do have to say what a sight that'd be) and speaking of kantou manji, mikey's like 21, sanzu's 20 turning 21, mucho's 24 and hanma and kokonoi are 22.
rokuhara tandai's ages are a bit messy but i'll try it out. so ran is like 22-23 and rindou's a few months to a year younger. shion, izana and mochi are the same age as mucho and i think south is around that age as well, and kakucho the baby is 20.
brahman; senju's 20, draken's 21, inui's 22 and waka, benkei, omi and shin are like 31.
and lastly with the side characters, yuzuha's 21, emma's 20 and akane's like 27-28 ish.
anyways im linking side jobs with the topic of age just so this ask can be a bit more exciting :p
a few of the roadie's take jobs from other bands to help out and get some easy money while the musicians ofc do a similar thing with solo gigs or group ones.
but with jobs outside of the music performing industry, takemichi still works at that cd shop but instead its more music based, wakasa and benkei have the equivalent of their gym with a music shop (they taught there during the transition/time period between black dragons to brahman.) and i feel like shin works at like a super market on the side? 😭 and ofc he forces all three of his
the haitanis, kakucho, mochi and izana are still trying to run that organisation from the good au with the help of mucho this time. hanma still does photography and kisaki tutors.
thatz mostly it for my current job brainrot, u can assign some more fitting jobs for them if u like
Oh my god these aren't crumbs anymore this rlly is a plate of cookies.
I am most compelled, in usual virtue style, with a tangential side story plot for hanma: so consider hanma and sanzu getting in a random person's car and that person is so taken aback that they get them back to the hotel safely. Okay thats it my whole idea. Lol.
Further I need hanma to have an instrumental side project with Koko and sanzu just for a little ep a gift for the fans v much akin to their mid concert jams while Mikey changes and chugs some tea.
Waka and benkei should own that music shop Michi works at instead of or in addition to a gym
Hanma has a secret aesthetic photography Instagram account that is relatively famous but has his name nowhere.
I'm so painfully biased I'm sorry I'll be better lmao

Oc-character: Diwata Kurokawa
gender: female
age: 35 ( 2005 )
birthday: June 19, 1968
height: 170cm ( 5'57'' )
weight: 59kg
blood type: A
hair color: black
eye color: orchid
relatives
sano family
shinichiro sano ( adoptive son )
manjiro sano ( adoptive son )
emma sano ( adoptive daughter )
( they are not really ''adopted" but I couldn't find a better term )
mansaku sano ( parental father )
kurokawa family
izana kurokawa ( son )
karen kurokawa ( sister )
nathaniel kurokawa ( ex-husband )
ryuguji family
ken ryuguji ( son-in-law )
status: alive, till 2004 in a coma
occupation: doctor
personality
Diwata is a very strict parent who also has her soft sides. despite having her husband cheat on her with her sister, getting into a coma and having her son taken away from her, diwata didn't change much from her younger self so she can be goofy sometimes. she has a sweet tooth but also loves spicy dishes like curry. she has two phases of anger: the louder phase where you only get yelled at by a filipino mother; the quieter phase where you get chased after by a very athletic angry mother with flip flops. it's pretty bad to get her that angry because you will likely meet your ancestors. other than that diwata is hyper aware of her surroundings and will notice the minutest details.
skills and abilities
athority
diwata kurokawa is very respected and feared by the majority of the deliquent world. most of the gangs try to be on her good side so they will usually listen to her.
fighting powers
she is known as the "filipino crocodile" because every fight she gets involved in the side she fights for wins. her abilities far outshine her son's so that even they never argue with her. not only that but she almost always has her flip flops on with that no one can stop her. diwata is also very good at reading her opponents and can make difficult decisions in mere seconds.
Ethymology
kurokawa = kuro ( black ) + kawa ( stream, river )
diwata = refers to filipino mythology and folktales as the guardian of our world
NOTICE
diwata is an oc-character made for this fanfiction. we had to change some plot for her to be like we want it. again this fanfiction pure entertainment purpose and is only an interpretation of how we picture the mother of izana kurokawa.
HAPPY READING ❤️

Dw not too much at all, I enjoyed the questions! I just hope I’m not overbearing with my answers. They’re a bit lengthy 👉👈
Likewise! Hoping you always have an awesome day and take care!! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*✲゚*。⋆
6. What’s the last line you wrote?
Turned out to be more than a line, but I’ll just let this one slip! This one is from GL chap 11, just a snippet between Shin and Izana.
No one ever told him that nicotine shouldn’t be something he was supposed to crave – he didn’t mean to poison you the way he did – though he would to his little brother back then and it spared him a few more years until he could flicker one by himself on the same harbor, the same shade of night. Someday, the Black Dragon embroidered on his back.
11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?
I never write things in order lol. I jump around so much that any poor soul who takes a peek of my notes will be so confused. I see it more as stitching up a bunch scenes together and then hoping it makes sense in post-editing. I'm sadly not organized enough to plot down what'll happen point for point. I go with the flow and what feels right 😔
13. Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, what have you been listening to recently?
Yup! I rarely work in complete silence in anything. My thoughts are too loud and it's hard for me to concentrate without music or some form of noise in the background. Currently, well mostly, As It Was by Harry Styles since I'm planning to use that as a header for the next chapter in GL. Somebody to Love by Queen because I'm thinking of Shin lol. Was even debating whether I should put this as the header at first. Ship to Wreck and Delilah by Florence + The Machine for GL!MC because nothing beats a soulful song about love and self-destruction. Hmm, a few songs from Metric, POWERS, and The Smiths in between. I'm sorry this is a lot of different genres 😅 but I usually run through multiple songs to find that specific mood for scenes.
50. How would you describe your writing style?
Oof, this is a hard one. I’m not sure how to describe it, though I suppose when it’s comes to my writing I cull out as much words as possible but still try - emphasis on try :’) - to make it vivid, evocative, and surreal in a sentence. I guess this comes from attempting to emulate Japanese writers and poets since they're such masters at capturing the right words while being so descriptive and subtle in a few, simple sentences.
Though I rely more on how people describe my writing because I don’t want to think too deeply about it haha. A friend and mutual of mine once described it as something that should be read multiple times because after every reread, they find new meanings to the words and actions of the characters, that there are these hints they have to work to find, just the 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' nature of it. This comment always made my heart skyrocket ever since. That, and the stream of consciousness one from three respected writers (Hi Obsidian 💓) from three completely different fandoms. That one surprised me the most because all of you literally said the same thing and it made me happy :)
58. Do you have a favorite piece of figurative language you’ve written?
It's hard for me to cite a certain piece because I've already written a lot to recall something specific to be a favorite and I like my writing, even though I still think it's amateur. When it comes to figurative language, a pattern I like and notice is 'lost and found', death, distance, tenderness and violence, ghosts or whatever supernatural entity really, the act of bleeding, the act of devouring, and eyes that reveal more about the observer than the object of their observation.
It's the setting too! Seasons, surroundings, places, and even history/time as a way to convey the innermost emotions, sentiments, identities, and gradual changes of the characters and their relationships. Everything blends in so much that what's happening is surreal and a little vague which is which, what's tangible or not, is it really the rain or the sound of someone's heartbeat. That kind of thing 😊

‪JUST A LITTLE THOUGHTS
i just read some of this one maitake shipper’s takes on twitter (if you know you know) that usually comes across my timeline all the time even when i don’t ask lol but there could be a few of them who makes it seems like nothing is possible without their ship like ??? other characters exist, ya know… ‬??? for an example, chifuyu is one of the characters that holds a big part of TR plots, literally who stays by takemichi’s side and constantly helps him to get this far.
when i tried to observe those takes, i can see that the possibility [of thinking maitake revolves around the plots a lot] exists cuz wakui literally paired mikey with takemichi ever since the beginning and he automatically shared the portion of the “MC” title a bit but i feel like the pair was intentionally was made to indicate whatever mikey is doing is actually the opposite of what takemichi as the ‘actual’ MC does and that’s what motivates the heroism in takemichi; to change from dark to bright.
talking about dark and bright, remember when kisaki wanted to become a dark hero? probably it had nothing to do with mikey but who knows, right? as usual, kisaki (read: wakui) might knew something and if wakui decides to reveal that one day in an unexpected way, I MIGHT AS WELL BE GONE OUT OF THIS PLANET
TOMAN is now challenging the “izanafication” of mikey. with his well-built men. soon, he will walk down to the battlefield and probably does something horrifying than izana did, as an antagonist wakui claimed he is.

A butterfly in a dream
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
plot: is there a chance that the two friends will meet again?
genre: angst, fluff
characters: Izana and Kakucho
n.a.: hii to y'all! I wrote this short one-shot during a really bad day, but I pretty liked the idea so here I am. I hope that there will be no mistakes<3
A big white light, but strong enough to hide many of the details of what Kakucho was seeing. There was no sound, and everything seemed motionless, a sense of fear and uneasiness invaded the mind of the young boy. Despite the usually comforting white, the brightness of the light was too blinding to bring reassuring sensations.
A voice, a kind of laughter, the sound of footsteps, these sounds suddenly all came together. The road began to turn a bright green thanks to the grass present.
The melody of the voice sounded so familiar that he decided to go down that strange road.
He still didn't see where he was going, everything around him was white. But he was enchanted by the melody of the voice, so much so that he followed it without thinking of the consequences.
And then suddenly everything became clearer, the objects around him became clearer and the author of that laugh made himself known.
It was the voice of Izana kurokawa.
Wait, was he dead right? What was he doing there? where were they?
When he saw him, he was in a park, many trees and a few benches surrounded them.
Kakucho remained motionless as he watched Izana intending to look closely at a butterfly.
It was a white butterfly sitting on a lilac flower.
"Hi Kakucho" Izana started the conversation.
"Izaana..you... are you alive? What is happening? Where am I? Or rather, where are we?"
"Wait, stop with the questions, unfortunately I can't answer you, you'll understand everything by yourself"
Large tears began to form in the black-haired boy's eyes.
Great sobs filled the silence and the young man's legs began to shake until he was bent to the ground.
He felt a terrible pain, as if a hand had pierced his chest just to squeeze his heart.
"You know...I think this is all just a stupid dream... it can't be real...you died next to me...you saved me" he tried to say while sobbing.
The white-haired boy got up and joined him to sit next to him.
"I'm fine, everything's fine - he said putting a hand on his shoulder - it's not so bad here" and gave him the sweetest smile a person could see.
Kakucho smiled back and reached out to hug him.
"Wait, I can tell you this: as soon as you touch me I'll disappear and you'll wake up from this dream"
"Ah...okay. Then I'll just not touch you"
"Come on, follow me"
And saying this he took him to a nearby clearing.
"Unfortunately you will wake up soon." said the white-haired boy.
"No wait, how do you know? we'll get back together, right?"
"Maybe in another dream. "
"Right, maybe in another dream.."
"We still have little time" and after saying that he saw the white butterfly again.
"Oh look, a pretty butterfly ...let's go get it!" Izana said.
"Get it?"
"Yes !! I challenge you whoever gets it first wins".
And, just like two children, they began to chase that pure white butterfly.
Neither could get it, but Kakucho was starting to... disappear?
He was waking up.
"Izana...I think I have to go"
So they stopped,
but before leaving, he hugged his friend.
They hugged themselves in a much desired embrace.
"See you in another dream. We can chase butterflies again, right?"
"Right, see you, my dear friend"
So Kakucho woke up in tears in his bed.
Who knows if he would have dreamed of his friend again, but it's sure that he will never forget that beautiful dream.
And he'll never forget his greatest friend.
Thanks to having read it<3

ok some ppl are gonna hate me for this but i’m tired of this. some of u guys think mangakas just come up with their stories as the manga progresses and that really doesn’t make sense considering how every week they have deadlines and meetings (i meant for weekly releasing mangas but obviously it might be different for a lot of long term series like OP). coming up w a whole plot for an arc in just a day would be risky as well especially if you remember how not all mangakas are guaranteed success.
tr wasn’t even this successful, it only blew up last year because of the anime. no i understand writings might be sloppy but some of u guys act like you can write better. and i also understand it’s a little frustrating when u feel like some things could’ve gone differently, like for example i didn’t like how gege handled the zenin arc in JJK and i felt like it was a little rushed. but at the end of the day it’s his story and i’m not gonna bitch about what’s passed. i just feel like some of u guys are influenced by personal feelings like x character died. personally, none of the deaths felt wasted to me. you have to think like why did draken die? well he would’ve made things a little too easy on takemichi. after all this arc is about how takemichi has developed, having him save mikey alone would mean more. mikey needed a final trigger to really get into that darkness. kind of like a final boss battle in video games where they transform into their final forms before the fight can end. why didn’t kakucho die w izana? look at him this arc, the guy who was michi’s childhood friend being used to show michi’s growth before facing mikey feels satisfying to me. why didn’t they introduce shinichiro before his death? the shock factor. seen people say that they were surprised when it was revealed he was mikey’s brother. them revealing he was BD’s leader early in the story would’ve been boring too, I went crazy when TAIJU revealed it like wow. why didn’t x get the flashback/explained more in past arcs? IMO from the way tr has been from the start, each characters have their own specific moments in each arc. have u seen how big the cast is? maybe u all would’ve felt like it’s being dragged on too long if too many stuffs happened at one arc. man i remember when toman flashback chapter during draken’s death got released and some people were complaining it’s boring. funny thing is, if we didn’t get something like that then those who actually cared about toman would be complaining rn how we didn’t get more on how toman were. anyway certain characters might get explained more in those dvd booklets like kazutora.
tr is not a masterpiece but i definitely don’t wish huge plot points went any different🤷‍♀️ i’m a little sad an important character like draken didn’t get a proper funeral panel but then again when have they ever showed funerals in tr apart from emma’s. lastly before anyone gets the wrong idea, im not saying criticism on media you consume is bad. i just think there’s too much ppl in the tr fandom joining the bandwagon writing hate when it’s obvious it’s coming from biased feelings. a lot of the criticisms ppl usually bring up could be countered if they’d just use their critical thinking skills or at least read other people’s point of views.

Note
I found this in chapter 56 and I thought it was kinda interesting. While Zen is comforting Shirayuki as she's crying, Mitsuhide says,"But this is about Zen and Shirayuki. I don't think this sudden distance is a big problem. It's not like being apart would cause their existence to become smaller in each other's lives." Maybe it's foreshadowing they will separate? What are your thoughts on this? Do you think ObiYuki still has a chance or is it just the author toying with us?
hi anon!!  ( ̄ω ̄)
Short answer:
Yes, Whoaboy get ready I have some THOUGHTS, YESS!! and No.
I have been sitting on this ask for a long time sorry for le wait
The vast majority of this post is below the cut. I hope it is not too much / addresses what you meant.
Here are some notes before I subject whoever reads this to my madness:
These little moments of “It’s okay to do what you want to do” always strike me, and I think about them when I’m considering Zen v Obi endgame because it opens up the possibility that things can change.
Yes it’s a shojo and shojo protagonists tend to stick with their initial love interest... blah blah blah. I don’t think this preconceived notion of how shojo manga ‘always goes’ is a valid point anymore.
So .... I think the comments we are both thinking of usually refer to Shirayuki’s Path and how she must be able to Stand By Zen’s Side as an Ally, etc. So I’ll kind of be thinking of this from the angle of a Journey.
Everything discussed is also after The Play We Believe is Foreshadowing (except for the panels pulled from ch 9 and 20) which I think should be considered for the context of the plot.
If it is actually foreshadowing for an eventual Obi & Shirayuki story arc -- which tbh we might be in the midst of (currently) at ch 117 without realizing it -- then it’s relevant to how we frame the comments made afterwards. At the end of the day, Akizuki-sensei is an author. She is telling us a story. I think it’s reasonable to seek out clues to foreshadowing in fictional stories. So I’m operating under a 90% certainty that the play is foreshadowing.
I have found that the best (fictional) stories are ones that have been planned carefully. I have no way of verifying if AnS has been so precisely crafted to weave in so much foreshadowing that we speculate over, but damn it sure feels like it was.
The manga was originally just the first chapter, so we can assume that after writing that chapter and deciding to make it into a series, there was some planning done.
ANyway............... strong speculation ahead. I think I was ~60% thorough in my search to find material relevant to Foreshadowing of a Separation.
Please enjoy!
1) So we’ll start with a panel from ch 9,
where Zen is considering his relationship with Shirayuki and his growing crush.
Tumblr media
This panel is, as stated above, part of the story that Akizuki expanded on after the original one-shot. In the first chapter, we get a lot of cute fate-chitchat between Zen and Shirayuki, but I think -- after deciding to continue the story -- Akizuki changed the tone to allow for more character development, and to challenge the Fate tropes often seen in romance.
Thus, the statement above from Zen that they may not always be together.
foreshadowing ?!   ( ˙▿˙ )
___________________________
2) In Chapter 28,
we have the crew essentially saying they are all growing stronger for the sake of each other, and lending their strength as needed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Within the story, Akizuki-sensei has established a theme of moving forward and changing as needed as a way to get stronger.
Mitsuhide says this to Shirayuki, also in Ch 28:
Tumblr media
Why .... does Mitsuhide look so serious as he says this to her? Is he reconciling the fact that Shirayuki and Zens paths may diverge at some point, as they do for the Lyrias arc?
He follows up the above statement with:
Tumblr media
He goes on to say,
“I want you to follow your heart so you can stand on your own wherever Zen takes you.”
So... maybe that context takes away some of the significance for fellow lovers of AnS. But I don’t think we should just ignore the statement.
I think she’s being given permission to change her mind; that it’s okay for her to have feelings for Zen, but it’s also okay if she chooses to end things. Mitsuhide will support her either way.
Even though the the full remark still has to do with Zen, she is being encouraged to stand on her own. She is her own person. She has friends who will still be there even if she chooses something different from what people expect of her.
In this case -- pertaining to AnS as a whole, from the perspective of everyone who ‘knows’ about ZenYuki in-story and also (meta!) the manga readers -- Shirayuki is expected to someday marry Zen.
After this, in Chapter 29, Izana is a bit derisive to Shirayuki after she gets the title from Tanbarun. I think his comments are intentionally made to make her uncomfortable. He says,
“Hahahaha! What an unusual title! Amazing!”
- cue confusion from Zen and Shirayuki -
“I wasn’t poking fun at it, it’s just a bit strange. Hmm... before, I said a nobody like her at your side would sully your name, Zen, but with this you can be friends without any such worry, right?
“Shirayuki, I’ve never asked what kind of relationship you want to have with Zen. And I don’t know if it’s something that can be said.”
Alrighty. So. Izana says in front of Shirayuki that he had described her as a nobody. This seems like something said meant to disquiet her, and her initial reaction is, “taken aback,” so we can safely say it was at least temporarily disconcerting for her to hear. I imagine it’s hurtful to hear you were once thought of as someone unworthy of notice.
Don’t get me wrong, I think most of what Izana says and does is in relatively good faith. I think the fandom has come to a general conclusion that he’s testing their relationship.
Obi finds her in the early morning and he notices that she’s upset, commenting that she’s making a strange face. She is still thinking about what Izana said, and Obi asks,
“Is it about the path you want to take?”
“....No. It’s that I haven’t given it any thought.”
Zen already wishes (though I don’t think he’s explicitly stated it the way he does later in ch 33) to marry Shirayuki, and we see her here facing emotional turmoil because that part of her future isn’t something she has thought about yet. Interesting, to say the least.
Tumblr media
I’m not really sure about this, but it seems like she either means where Zen is taking her and / or where she can stand on her own.
And then .......
“Obi, will you lend me a hand?”
“Didn’t I tell you before that I’ll take you wherever you want to go?”
This part of the story is still heavy ZenYuki, but I think Obi saying this to her right now is significant. Akizuki has repeatedly weaved Shirayuki’s path into the themes of the story so far, while contrasting that Zen will meet her at her destination, while Obi will be at her side for the journey.
Zen and Shirayuki meet and talk. They basically address that Shirayuki doesn’t really know what the future holds, but that she still wants to stand by his side, and says that even though he’s a prince she wants to think it’s okay for her to feel that way.
You almost forget about the significance of Obi and Shirayuki’s relationship when it’s followed up by this ZenYuki scene. I wonder about the aforementioned nature-of-planning involved in the story and the future of the characters at this point.
gnah how did this post get so long already
___________________________
3) Zen has presumably given his blessing for Obi to be happy in love
In chapter 31, while the group is stranded outside Wistal due to rain, Zen and Obi are in the bath talking about the possibility of Kiki and Mitsuhide getting married.
“It’s fine with me as long as they can say that they’re happy. I intend to make sure of that.”
“You’ll make sure of that?”
“The same applies to you too, Obi.”
More foreshadowing? Presently it seems that the MitsuKiki ship has sunk, so contrasting this conversation to current-manga-events is titillating to me. ESPECIALLY because Zen says that he wants to make sure Obi is happy when Zen knows how Obi feels about Shirayuki. So it’s established that they will support one another as friends.
Later, Kiki and Mitsuhide are talking after dinner and discuss how the nature of Zen and Shirauki’s friendship never changes (that’s the impression I got from it). Mitsuhide recalls when he and Zen talked about the same thing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think what Kiki and Mitsuhide are referring to is that Zen and Shirayuki have made a conscious effort to become friends despite the barriers they’ve encountered so far, by way of them showing the strength of their mutual respect and desire to aid one another. I get a similar feel from the conversation between Zen and Mitsuhide.
And then .....
“The two of us will always be friends.”
ahem
Zen saying this -- in context to everything from the past four chapters -- implies that Zen is okay if their relationship is not romantic. If it is true that the mangas plot was deliberately planned out, these chapters will become increasingly interesting to look back on as the plot progresses.
The direction of the story has changed since then if we are only looking at the big turning point of Mitsuhide rejecting Kiki.
And despite that rejection, the group is still a group despite their physical distance.
___________________________
Brief note to say that in Ch 33 Izana says to Zen,
“Let me be an ally as you and Shirayuki follow your own path.”
While this is a ZenYuki comment, I see it as Akizuki reinforcing that each character is following their own path and they will be supported as they do.
___________________________
3.5) After this point is the first Lyrias arc,
where obiyuki shippers are starting to salivate over how much is packed in just for their relationship. I mean .... remember when she pushed him to the ground because she thought he would get hit by snow? And he gives her those moony eyes just like it didn’t stop ... my heart
UGH JUST SAYING IT BECAUSE context! Shirayuki’s path is changing slowly, and Obi is still by her side.
___________________________
4) A period of transition
I think this is around the time the Bergatt arc is actually beginning, leading up even to current-manga-events.
In Chapter 53
And thus, they head towards the path that a new wind blows upon.
The times are changing.
While Shirayuki is preparing for her and Ryuu’s move to Lyrias, Zen and co. are at Wilant meeting with Haruto, who describes fools aiming to throw the country into turmoil. This is a seed for the plot that develops, ie, the Bergatt arc that was not actually resolved when Touka gets taken down at Sereg in ch (?) 86. I bring this up because I think it shows the level of planning that Akizuki has put into the story at this point.
In chapter 55, after Shirayuki has finally been able to tell Zen she’ll be away from Wistal for 2 years, and they have this conversation (slightly paraphrased) after he’s processed for a short time:
Zen -
“Sorry. The fact that you would be leaving the castle was something that I’d never considered. So my reaction was a little slow.
“I’ll hear it. I’m sure there was more you wanted to say.”
Shirayuki -
“I’m really glad that I got to meet you and come to the castle! I’m where I am now because I wanted to become Zen’s ally; and i achieved that by coming to the castle and becoming a royal pharmacist.
“I’m sure that, like how it’s always been, there’s something ahead connecting to my path now. That’s why, because there’s a place I have yet to go, I want to be there.”
This is Zen’s face after she says the above:
Tumblr media
What is he thinking? Is he worried about their romantic relationship? I interpret it as preemptive disappointment that they may not stay together.
Shortly after we get to the point you made in your ask (sweet anon) re ch 56 with Mitsuhides comment. This adds to the reinforced theme that change is okay and they will all still be friends and allies regardless of where life takes them.
BUT IMMEDIATELY AFTER Mitsuhide says that in reference to Zen and Shirayuki, Obi responds:
Tumblr media
Is Akizuki drawing a parallel between MitsuKiki and ZenYuki? No idea. maybe. But somehow I do not find it coincidental.
This seems like a MitsuKiki hint, meant to fuel the ultra-shippable pair that we all loved... but after the rejected proposal, it’s hard not to see the whole situation differently re: zenyuki / obiyuki and mitsukiki / hisakiki.
Then the first true ObiYuki hug, and this:
“It feels as though Obi might suddenly appear in Lyrias!”
girl you already knew. Shirayuki knows that Obi will follow her.
Obi deliberately postpones going to Lyrias, though, in order to consider his feelings for Shirayuki and how to tell Zen.
Then!! in 58-59 we get long-awaited confirmation from Obi that he has feelings for Shirayuki, and after this beautiful moment Obi goes to Lyrias to be at Shirayuki’s side, and after everything that has happened so far that is a clincher for me regarding our beloved Foreshadowing.
While discussing Obi’s crush on Shirayuki, Obi asks Zen
“Aren’t you going to propose?”
“.......................Well, I’m.. making her .. wait.”
“Master ... I don’t recommend postponing it, you know.”
I wonder about this comment. Is this a clue for us that Zen postponing engagement is going to be a negative thing in the future?
idk maybe ╮( ̄ω ̄)╭
Either way ........ This transition period, in between Lyrias 1 and 2, shows us that the story is changing.
___________________________
I have definitely not covered all of the possible moments of foreshadowing and am actually going to leave off on that topic for the time being. I might do a part 2 as its own post.
But for now I will switch to previously mentioned point that...
5) Obi and Shirayuki’s paths are walked together
I think the following two panels are a great way to frame their relationship. Chapter 20 in early Tanbarun arc:
Tumblr media
And then, much later in chapter 106 as they stand by the fire and Shirayuki tells Obi he’s handsome in the light:
Tumblr media
“... because you come with me.” ( ╥ω╥ )
And then more delightful talk from chapter 104 that I think is ... gasp
foreshadowing !!!!!
They are having this discussion after they’ve found out about Kiki becoming engaged to Hisame.
Tumblr media
“It’s necessary to have the courage to make a decision and take a step down that path, isn’t it?”
Shirayuki is possibly saying this due to the implications of Kiki’s letter. Kiki has made the choice to take a new path from the one she had been on by marrying Hisame.
So what about Shirayuki’s journey? Has her growth led her to a path she didn’t expect, and now it will take courage to step down it?
In recent chapters Shirayuki is shown to be seeing Obi differently and as a man:
overhearing him calling her beautiful and being surprised that he is embarrassed she heard
witnessing him going to a marriage meeting
that little moment where he is holding her wrist as a Lyrias knight tells him that the knights sister wishes him luck in love
the firelight comment oh my god
realizing she lost the pin Obi gave her and tearing up as she literally stared at him; upset that the gift she cherished is now missing and potentially realizing how very dear to her Obi actually is
fake dating and the 10 seconds of ... just... I still cant even
Obi is the one who is by Shirayuki’s side. They developed a bond through years friendship that is now being reframed by Akizuki. The nature of their relationship has been slowly changing and I think we approaching a time in the manga where Shirayuki will realize it.
___________________________
To answer your last question ... I do think ObiYuki has a chance and I do not think the author is just toying with us. I’ve talked a lot about my ObiYuki Endgame feels in previous posts/asks. I could probably talk about it forever but this post is absurdly long .... sorry
Thank you so much for the ask! and wow thank you so much if you actually read this whole thing!
