Movie 3 is what I assume made people interested in the Izayoix Inu no Taisho ship in the first place. Unless it was like that before. I've only been a fan since 2008 so I don't know

outoftomorrow:     I’ve been in the fandom since 2001, and I’ve no idea if it was like that before. xD TBH–I was never that interested in the parents period–till my mate decided she’d pick up Tai as a muse back in 2010-and I followed suit picking up Iza to add to my muse list a few days later.     I knew that there was heavy speculation about Sesshi’s mom–ya know before the manga chapters with her in them debuted in 07..Cause I had some speculations about her too…But…That’s about it.

How'd you feel the first time Tai saw you naked?

What are your headcanons for Izayoi and Tai?

❀ When they’re together they frequently have more fun then fights❀ When they do fight–Izayoi is relentless and generally won’t back down for anyting, and Tai tries but usually fails to win the arguments.❀ They cuddle a LOT❀ Izayoi can fight beside Tai, but Tai doesn’t know she had battle training-and so often leaves her home when he goes on patrol.❀ Tai refers to Iza as his Little Bird❀ They both enjoy picking on Sesshoumaru, though Tai a little less so.❀ Tai courted Iza in secret for a couple of years before they were discovered by the Minamoto clan❀ It was Iza who suggested that they ‘elope’❀ It was Tai who set the whole elopement up❀ Tai did not have to fight Takemaru to take Izayoi away, But Takemaru was dismayed and appalled

I always thought a major reason Tai and Iza chose each other was because they’d found someone they could just be themselves around. Someone who wasn’t out there to stab them in the back. Neither really had that. But Izayoi would still have been brave. At least enough not to run away from a terrifying yokai that scared the bejeezus out of even ruthless yokai. Certainly humans as well

Outoftheashes:     Oh I’m sure that was a major reason! After all, that’s all a good foundation for any relationship. I also can’t see Tai being interested in a human who couldn’t hold her own against people…A simpering, domesticated, pretty face with no spunk or spark–the way the anime makes Iza out to be–just does not seem like someone Tai would ever go for…So I’m also quite sure that another reason they chose eachother was because Iza was a strong rebellious woman, and Tai was an interesting and challenging change of pace. :3
