So like...

When does it stop being "write what you want, screw the haters" and start being "writing this is incredibly irresponsible"?!

When does it stop being "we're exploring alternate characterization and narratives" and start being "this is blatant mischaracterization"?!

When does it stop being "this made me uncomfortable so it's not for me" and start being "this made me uncomfortable, it's blatantly problematic"?!

When does it start being that deep?! When do we start interrogating our biases and blind spots?! When do we start considering the impact of what we're putting out into the world?!

There's a time and place for just about everything under the sun in fiction. I'm not here to ruin anyone's fun or be the morality police. But when certain things turn into trends that get picked up as the Gospel Truth by the majority of the fandom?!

Yeah, that's when I start having a problem.

#Jace says #Yes friends she's at it again!!#It = writing vaguely confrontational posts critiquing the Batfandom at large that most people are going to ignore #And just to be clear #This is 1000% about the mischaracterization of JT and TD #I'm tired of having to deal with what was v succintly summed up as eye witness unreliability and mass delusion #Except more mass delusion #Because the way these two characters are written and talked about in fandom are v much indistinguishable from canon #And bas actually atarted affecting their canon portrayals #It's frustrating having to wade through the sea of people eating up bad characterization misplaced narratives and the whole gamut of b/s...#...and when you call them out they throw a bitch fit and say you're ruining their fun #Its akin to people being their worst selves in a college course #And when they get called out they said they paid good money to be present #As if that means anything #As if that overrides everyone else's right to be in the same space as you #Okay I'm done #Fandom salt #Batsalt #anti fanon #anti Tim Drake #anti Batfam
