Initial drawings of that old man… I literally, I haven’t finished reading the book of bill yet!!! I had a crush on this guy the instant he was first REVEALED in the show, but I did not have the artistic prowess to draw good looking old men back then… but I do now… thank god… thank fucking god

I'm now reading Vigilantes and honestly it's quite fun. I like this found family we got, and Koichi really feels a lot like if Izuku were a lot more "normal" of a person (or imo, not autistic and less bullied lmao).

Koichi is a loner, incredibly nice, selfless, and heroic. He's an All Might fan who has (almost) every All Might hoodie. But he's not analyzing every little detail of each hero and villain and quirk he encounters and scrambling to write them all down, nah that's Izuku Midoriya's thing.

In fact, if you put them side-by-side, it makes it really apparent just how crazy and freaky Izuku is as a hero, as a nerd, as a boy overall. I love Izuku for it honestly, and it makes him more interesting, you can't even just chalk it up to how he is around 3 years younger than Koichi.

you know what, I actually will talk about this because it's bothering me. The issue with focussing so heavily on syd and carmy's potential for a romantic relationship isn't that there's something inherently unintellectual about romance or whatever, it's that a lot of people seem incapable of doing that without immediately flattening the story and ignoring or intentionally misreading any and all nuance for the sake of that romance. Every scene suddenly becomes about how it impacts their relationship, every analysis is done through a romantic lens, every frame or line of dialogue becomes about finding some easter egg or hint that "proves" these people should start dating. Their dynamic is absolutely a fundamental part of this show, but if you can only see it as a will-they-won't-they, you miss so much of what the story is actually trying to say with these two.

There are good versions of this story where their relationship is romantic and there are good versions of this story where it isn't, but as soon as you decide them being together is "the point," you lose the ability to actually judge the story for what it is, not what you want it to be.

I wouldn’t make a YouTube channel, because I can’t stand hearing my own voice and I’m wary of showing my face on the Internet, but if I did, I’d be so good at lengthy Jenny Nicholson-style deep dives into topics nobody cares about. I would love to do a 4-hour explainer on the insane micro-tropes found in sixth-century Byzantine historical fiction. The clumsy attempts at romance between characters who barely knew each other irl, the self-insert loser eunuchs who are always lusting after Theodora, the sibling rivalry plotlines that take up a ridiculous amount of page time, the increasingly derivative sci-fi/fantasy alternate history Belisarius ‘verse that’s been living rent-free in my head since Foundation and Empire. I could talk about these deranged books for ages and never even scratch the surface of how weird they get. Half of the video would just be a static picture of Antonina shooting a robot with a gun while I rant about how we got to this point

I've been feeling pretty anxious about my Curse of Strahd game all week (combination of a conversation with my DM that made me feel weird + overall feeling that in my excitement I've been Kind Of A Lot about this game) but then we got in and Wyn got to do some exploration with her two favorite guys (the wizard and the fighter) and we got some Lore Info that might help us with a decision later on and then we began an infiltration job that has so far started off pretty well and everyone was getting shit done and being really clever and helpful while also being a little silly with it and man!!! It's amazing how much better I feel!!!

Maybe I AM a lot, but at least the energy is matched once we start playing!!!

i really am enjoying infinity nikki, ive always loved the nikki games, but i think theres a weird rise of very sex negative, 'its for girls so it needs to remain pure and modest and untouched' mindset going on amongst fans and thats a bit weird. like, i get appreciating the fact that theres no weird nody modifications or jiggle physics or panty shots, i also appreciate that lack of sexualization. but infinity nikki and all nikki games have never been devoid of *sexuality*. theres an entire sexy category, with outfits that are sexy in the way an adult woman would feel sexy, and those outfits show a bit of skin, that organge top for example is risque. like, to say that the game is pure and innocent and nobody should ever ever think any kind of horny thoughts about ever it is really weird and puritanical.

idk ive just been seeing praise for the game that is leaning away from 'relief that a game is made for us' and towards 'vitriolic puritan ideals about modesty and if you ever have sex, think about sex, or dress in sexy outfits your a gooner slut who will go to hell'

Since I cant really draw anything super awesome right now I went and drew Cassius and Edgar some new/alternate outfits... based on birds cos HEHE why not... This sorta spawned cos I saw a robin and went "that would make a really good outfit, actually" and then went and drew Cassius about it. And it was good

also since I'm here I finally redesigned Cassius' old main coat:

It's a bit shit... I guess that's what happens when it's like a decade and a half old or something? Actually technically it's much older than that; it was his father's before he found it...... Not that he wore it too often I think. And not that he (cassius) wears it *too* often anymore (maybe it's just too cold) (or maybe he likes looking like a bird more) (or maybe... he's changed as a person... mwa ha ha) but anyway. Yay! Yay! I love drawing pseudo ref sheets!!!
