The Best Italian Kitchen Manufacturers and Modern Walk-In Closet Designs
When it comes to elevating home interiors, few aspects offer as much impact as a well-designed kitchen or walk-in closet. For homeowners who appreciate a blend of luxury, craftsmanship, and functionality, Italian kitchen manufacturers are synonymous with excellence. Similarly, modern walk-in closet designs have become a statement piece, transforming ordinary spaces into personal havens of style and organization. This article will delve into two key areas: the craftsmanship of Italian kitchen manufacturers and the essentials of modern walk-in closet design.
The Craftsmanship Behind Italian Kitchen Manufacturers
Italian kitchens are renowned for their superior craftsmanship, sleek designs, and innovative use of materials. Italian kitchen manufacturers have become global leaders by blending traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology and design. Here are key factors that set them apart:
Design Excellence
Italian kitchen manufacturers are famous for their exceptional designs, combining minimalism with elegance. They prioritize clean lines, geometric shapes, and functional beauty. Every element in an Italian kitchen is meticulously crafted to ensure that it serves both aesthetic and practical purposes. The layouts are thoughtfully planned to provide maximum efficiency without sacrificing style.
High-Quality Materials
The choice of materials is critical to the success of Italian kitchens. Italian manufacturers often work with premium materials such as marble, high-quality wood, stainless steel, and glass. These materials not only look stunning but are also highly durable, ensuring that your kitchen will stand the test of time.
Customization Options
One of the standout features of Italian kitchen manufacturers is their ability to offer custom designs tailored to the client’s preferences. Whether you prefer a sleek, modern look or a more rustic aesthetic, Italian kitchen manufacturers can create custom solutions that meet your vision. From cabinetry to countertops, everything is tailored to fit your lifestyle.
Innovative Technology
Italian kitchens don’t just focus on looks—they are also known for their state-of-the-art technology. Many kitchens incorporate smart technology such as touchless faucets, integrated lighting systems, and energy-efficient appliances. These elements work together to enhance both the convenience and sustainability of the kitchen.
Sustainability
As more people prioritize environmentally-friendly options, Italian kitchen manufacturers are responding with sustainable solutions. Many companies now focus on using eco-friendly materials and ensuring that their production processes are energy-efficient and low in waste. This makes Italian kitchens a great choice for environmentally-conscious homeowners.
Popular brands like Scavolini, Arclinea, and Valcucine lead the industry with designs that epitomize Italian elegance and innovation. Each brand offers a unique take on what a kitchen can be, whether through modular designs, open-plan concepts, or highly functional small-space solutions.
Walk-In Closet Design: A Modern Luxury
A walk-in closet is more than just a space to store your clothes—it has become an essential part of modern luxury home design. A well-planned walk closet design can bring a sense of organization, tranquility, and personal style to your home. Here are the key elements of a modern walk-in closet design:
Custom Layouts
Like Italian kitchens, the best walk-in closets are custom-designed to meet the needs and preferences of the homeowner. Whether you’re a fashion enthusiast with an expansive wardrobe or simply want a well-organized space, custom walk closet design allows you to incorporate features like extra shelving, specialized drawers, or display areas for shoes and accessories.
Maximized Space Utilization
One of the hallmarks of a successful walk-in closet is its efficient use of space. Modern designs often include innovative storage solutions like pull-out racks, adjustable shelving, and hidden compartments. These features ensure that every inch of the closet is utilized, making it easier to keep everything organized and accessible.
Lighting and Mirrors
Lighting plays a crucial role in creating the ambiance of a walk-in closet. Integrated lighting systems, including LED strips and recessed lights, illuminate your clothing and accessories while also setting the mood for the space. Full-length mirrors are another essential feature, giving the room a spacious feel while allowing you to evaluate your outfits with ease.
Luxurious Materials and Finishes
Modern walk-in closets often feature luxurious materials that mirror the elegance of the rest of your home. High-quality wood, glass doors, and metal accents give the space a refined look. Whether you prefer a minimalist style with sleek lines or a more traditional design with ornate details, choosing the right materials will make your closet feel like a luxurious retreat.
Personal Touches
Adding personal touches to your walk closet design makes the space truly yours. Some homeowners choose to incorporate seating areas, where they can comfortably try on clothes or relax. Others prefer incorporating display spaces for jewelry, watches, or designer handbags. Whatever your personal preferences, modern walk-in closets can be customized to reflect your lifestyle and tastes.
Technology Integration
Just like in kitchens, smart technology is making its way into closet design. From automated lighting systems to digital wardrobe management, technology is revolutionizing the way we interact with our personal spaces. Imagine mirrors that can suggest outfits or shelves that light up when you approach—these are the innovations transforming modern walk closet design.
How Italian Kitchen Manufacturers and Walk-In Closet Design Work Together
Italian kitchen manufacturers and modern walk-in closet designs share a common thread: a focus on luxury, craftsmanship, and customization. Both spaces serve as focal points of a home, where design meets functionality. Homeowners seeking to upgrade both their kitchens and closets can often find synergy in their design choices by prioritizing high-quality materials, efficient layouts, and advanced technology in both spaces.
In high-end homes, kitchens and walk-in closets often reflect the personal tastes and values of their owners. Both spaces are designed to not only meet practical needs but also to inspire and elevate daily routines. Whether you're cooking a gourmet meal or selecting the perfect outfit, these two areas of your home should be sources of joy, creativity, and convenience.
Conclusion
Whether you’re upgrading your kitchen or designing a luxurious walk-in closet, the focus should always be on creating a space that enhances your lifestyle. Italian kitchen manufacturers offer unparalleled quality, custom designs, and cutting-edge technology, while modern walk closet designs provide an organized, stylish sanctuary. By investing in both, you create a home that blends luxury with everyday functionality.

The Creator
Peter was bad at giving up. His persistence was both an asset and a flaw, praised by some and bemoaned by others. After hours watching the body, watching another loss, he shut down the machines and left her. He was too disheartened to clean up. The thought of disposing of her made him sick.
It should have worked. Why didn't it work?
He chewed his lip as he climbed up the stairs and closed the hatch, the heavy bang barely registered in his ears. He just couldn't figure out where he'd went wrong. Her neural receptors were alight with activity and the synapses were sparking wildly, her heart kept a steady beat and her breath rose and misted in the cold air. But she just wouldn't wake up.
She was a shell. Just like Tony's stupid suits. There was no life there, only spent energy and wasted time.
Peter took off his helmet and plunked it on the counter. The Italian humidity was not so bad as before but his hair curled damply around his face from so long in his suit. He glanced out the arched window and stared at the sky, a dimming greyish violet. A storm was brewing and would help ease the thickness that lingered.
He finished stripping away the heavy equipment, the gloves were tinted from her blood and the interior smelled of his sweat. He kicked it into the corner and swore. He would have to try again but he didn't know if he had the heart for it. He was so very tired and so very lonely.
He opened the fridge out of habit but had no appetite. He let it close and turned with a snarl and threw his fist into the stone wall of the villa. It cracked and a large chunk shattered onto the floor. He didn't feel the pain, he never felt the physical damage but he felt everything in his soul.
That was something he could not manufacture. Likely, what he was missing, but how could he infuse a living form with that mystic enigma. He laughed at himself sourly. He was deluded into thinking science fiction could ever be reality. Maybe he was mad, maybe he'd finally gone over the edge. It was a startling moment of self-reflection fractured by the sudden sharp crackle of lightning.
He went down the hall and looked down the coast at the dark waters. The sky had quickly turned black as the storm moved in. Suddenly his vision lit up as lightning roared down and fizzled across the waves. The ebb and flow crashed loudly as the winds began to burgeon and bellow.
Peter watched, transfixed by the violence, as thunder rumbled through the clouds as the air broke and he felt a rare coolness crawl over his skin, the hair standing on his arms and neck. Boom, boom, crack! The tempo beat wildly as he was swept up in the terror.
Thump, thump, thump… At first, he thought it was the thunder but it was hollow and much closer. The sudden muffled crash of metal made his heart skip. His feet moved on their own as he raced back to the kitchen and flung open the hatch.
There was movement from below, clattering, clinking, an odd groan. His steps hammered down and he hopped over the last few stairs.
The tray of instruments was overturned, the air still frigid and still. The metal table was bare but for the crisscrossed tubes that led to the other side. He rounded it as his ears itched and his throat lumped.
She was there, shivering and yanking on the wires hooked to her. Her face was contorted with confusion and fear, but most significantly, she was awake. She was alive!
Her eyes flicked up from her struggle and rounded as she saw him. She gave a strangled groan and clumsily wriggled away from him but not far as she was caught up in the tubes. He raised his hands as he neared, plaintively as if coaxing an animal.
"Hey, I'm not going to hurt you?" He cooed.
She thrashed out as he got close and he caught her arms. They were warm and strong as she wrestled with him. He squeezed her wrists until she stilled and he cautiously let go of one. He felt along her hand and took out the IV. She didn't resist as she was awestruck at his actions.
He glanced up and found her watching his hands. He continued to detach her and took the sensor from her chest. She was naked still but unaffected by it. He removed the ring from her head and she grabbed him suddenly.
She raised his arm beside hers and looked between them. He watched the horror swell behind her eyes and she shrieked as she let him go. She searched her body and her wails got louder as she felt the stitches he placed on her, like spiderwebs holding her together.
"It's okay," he said, "please--"
He reached out and she swatted him away. She pinched a stitch and tugged, whining as blood began to bead from the incision. He tore her hand away and grabbed the other.
"No! No!" He hissed, "don't do that."
She stared at him and her forehead wrinkled. The air rushed from his lungs as he realised she couldn't understand him. He had little hope of her retaining memories of her former life, he'd counted on it, but she didn't seem to understand anything at all.
"Come on," he stood and pulled on her until she did the same. She was unsteady and stumbled against him. She clung to him and he basked in the feel of it. "Here."
He picked her up and she cried out in surprise. He cradled her against him and headed for the steep stairs. He climbed treacherously and when he got to top, she babbled at her new surroundings.
He took her through the kitchen and into the front room. He placed her down on the sofa and watched how she felt the cushions and pressed them with her fingers.
"Please, stay," he said as he backed away and showed her his palms, "stay."
He pointed to the couch as she batted her lashes dumbly. He slowly inched to the door and watched her as she craned to see him. He repeated his order and gesture and quickly flitted away.
He raced upstairs to the closet he filled in expectation. He took out a dress without looking and came back down. He heard whining as thunder hammered down and shook the villa. He found her under the table, hiding from the cacophony.
He set the dress over the arm of the couch and went to her. He drew her out from beneath the table and guided her back to the couch, she flinched and exclaimed every time the windows flashed or the sky boomed. He calmed her by rubbing her arms and she looked at him curiously.
He was frozen by her gaze. Slowly she lifted her hand and touched his cheek. Her gangly fingertips dragged along his jaw then she spread her hand over his face entirely. She pulled back and felt her own face and sobbed. He caught her hands and hushed her. He put them in her lap and reached for the dress.
He helped her poke her arms through the cap sleeves and got her head through the top. He pushed the fabric down and stood to help her up so the skirt hung down to just above her knees. He smiled. She looked wonderful.
The thunder quaked around them and she whimpered and fell against him. She latched onto him as she trembled and he brought his arms around her. He rocked her until she calmed, though she still winced at every noise.
He sat her down again and held her. She fidgeted restlessly as the storm lulled and only the patter of rain remained. He dared to let her go and took the thin woven blanket from over the back of the couch. He swathed it around her shoulders and she clutched the edges thankfully and played with the fringe like a child.
He stood and she let out a sharp breath. He paused and caressed her bare head. She watched him as he slowly pulled away, keeping his eyes on her as he went to grab his tablet from the shelf. He went back to her and sat as he unfolded the case and propped it up.
He scrolled through his files and selected a video. His collection was not vast but carefully curated. He wanted her to be happy so he kept to a particular genre.
She leaned forward and gaped at the tablet, her nose almost touching his hand. He chuckled softly as the credits began to roll and Audrey Hepburn's name flashed below Gregory Peck's. He sat back and drew her to him against the cushion and fixed the blanket around her.
She slapped his arm but he realised it was unintentionally gruff. She felt his sleeve and pressed her thumb to the muscle beneath. He let her explore across his chest and she grabbed his chin, once more looking him over. He took her hand and twined his fingers through hers.
"Alright," he said and nodded to the tablet, "watch."
Her eyes flicked to the screen and she blinked at the images of other people. She squeaked and pointed at it then waved her hand in excitement. He smiled as she leaned forward again, gaze intent on the scene playing before her.
He was happy because he knew she would never leave. She couldn't. She needed him. Besides, he doubted she'd even have the thought. He was her creator, she belonged with him. Belonged to him

TOUR DE LUCY!
Lucy & Cycling
Tumblr media
Pedal Power!  When not motorized or on foot power, Lucy biked!  Here’s a look at bikes, trikes, and other likes.
Tumblr media
Ben Mankiewicz’s podcast relates that Lucille Ball, as a young Hollywood hopeful, biked to work.
Tumblr media
Broadway Thru a Keyhole (1933) ~  A bevy of costumed chorines - including an uncredited Lucille Ball, Susan Fleming and Ann Sothern - wheel around a giant nightclub stage to the tune of “When You Were a Girl on a Scooter (And I Was the Boy on the Bike)”. This was Lucille Ball’s second film. It also featured Charles Lane and Walter Winchell.
Tumblr media
Palm Springs Weekend (1942) ~ An RKO short in which newlyweds Lucy and Desi rent a tandem bike to tour Palm Canyon, stopping to take snapshots.
Tumblr media
“The Lost Pilot” (1951) ~ Pepito the Clown (Pepito Perez) was a good friend of Desi Arnaz. In the long-unaired pilot episode for “I Love Lucy” Pepito rides the world’s smallest bicycle, a routine that was part of his stage act.
Tumblr media
“The Audition” (1951) ~ When the unaired pilot’s script was recycled into the regular series, Pepito was replaced by Buffo the Clown (Pat Moran) who injures himself trying to do a handstand on the handlebars of a (full-sized) bicycle. Resting at the Ricardo’s apartment, he tries the stunt again and careens through the kitchen door. His replacement is Lucy as ‘The Professor’, although she doesn’t ride the bike!
Tumblr media
“Lucy’s Show-Biz Swan Song” (1952) ~ When the episode was running short, Desi Arnaz invited Pepito to do some of his act from the unaired pilot, including the world’s smallest bicycle routine.
Tumblr media
The tiny bike (one of two) is six inches wide by ten inches high, manufactured by Anderson, Melbourne, Australia, in 1928. It was at one time entered into Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Pepito was in Australia in 1928 for an extended vaudeville tour, and he must have ordered this bicycle at that time. It is now one of the artifacts in the Lucy-Desi Museum’s collection. A special case was been constructed to exhibit it.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Fakes Illness” (1953) ~ To convince Ricky she is going through her second childhood, Lucy rides a tricycle through the living room!
Tumblr media
“The Ricardo’s Change Apartments” (1953) ~ Lucy fills the apartment to the brim with toys and baby items to convince Ricky they need a bigger apartment. Among the explosion of tot props is a tricycle and a bicycle!
Tumblr media
“Bon Voyage” (1956) ~ A bicycle is Lucy’s undoing when boarding the S.S. Constitution for Europe. Saying one last farewell to Little Ricky on the dock, her skirt gets caught in the chain of a messenger bike, delaying her timely boarding. She even tries to board with the bicycle!
Tumblr media
“Lucy’s Bicycle Trip” (1956) ~ When leaving Italy for France, Lucy has her heart set on biking across the border, but meets some resistance from Ricky and the Mertzes.
LUCY: “You wouldn’t climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower. You wouldn’t ride the ski lift in Switzerland. You won’t swim in the Mediterranean and now you don’t want to bicycle along the Italian Riviera.”
Tumblr media
The bicycles used in the episode were provided by Arnold Schwinn and Company in return for a screen credit.
Tumblr media
“The I Love Lucy Christmas Show” (1956) ~ Little Ricky gets a new bike for Christmas!
Tumblr media
“Lucy is a Kangaroo for a Day” (1962) ~ To buy her son a new bicycle for his birthday, Lucy takes a job at a law office - until things ‘unravel’.  Her knit dress becomes entangled in the spokes of the bicycle and unravels, causing her to have to wear a kangaroo costume to complete the job.
Tumblr media
A carefree Jerry (Jimmy Garrett) rides his new bicycle through the living room!
Tumblr media
A receipt from a Hollywood bicycle shop for the purchase of a bicycle basket and bike rack. Dated December 22, 1962, it was signed by Lucy. It is not known if the items turned up on screen or in what show / episode.
Tumblr media
“Together for Christmas” (1962) ~ Combining their family holiday traditions, Lucy holds her favorite ornament, a Santa on a three-wheeled bike. Viv’s expression betrays her feelings about the ornament.
Tumblr media
“Bob Hope’s Leading Ladies” (1966) ~ In the special, Lucy makes her grand entrance riding a large tricycle with her chauffeur (Jerry Colonna) on the back.
Tumblr media
“Lucy in London” (1966) ~ Lucy and singer / songwriter Anthony Newley tour London town on a tandem bicycle.
Tumblr media
Yours, Mine and Ours (1968) ~ In the film, Helen (Lucille Ball) and Frank (Henry Fonda) are the parents of 19 kids!  On Christmas morning, more than a couple of them get bicycles.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Helps Craig Get a Drivers License” (1969) ~ Lucy tags along on Craig’s road test. Needless to say the back seat driver frustrates and angers the instructor (Jack Gilford). When he learns that her license has expired, he says that after he's through with her she'll be lucky to drive a tricycle in Griffith Park!
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Wally Cox” (1970) ~ Wally and Lucy are security guards at a toy warehouse that is robbed at gunpoint. There is a tricycle on the shelf behind the robbers (Gil Perkins and X Brands).
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Lawrence Welk” (1970) ~ Lucy sends her visiting friend Viv on the  Universal Studios tour, where she is excited to have seen Doris Day’s bicycle!  All this is reported by Viv and neither Day nor her bicycle appear on screen. In real life, Doris Day was an avid bike rider. She rode to the studio on many occasions and pedaled around Beverly Hills until the police finally told her they couldn’t guarantee her safety.
Tumblr media
Mame (1974) ~ Auntie Mame (Lucy) and her nephew Patrick (Kirby Furlong) bike through central park in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical.
EXERCISE BIKES
Tumblr media
“The Charm School” (1954) ~ At Phoebe Emerson’s salon, Lucy and Ethel work out on stationary bikes. If you don’t remember this moment, it is because it was cut before broadcast. The press photos, however, survive.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Countess Lose Weight” (1965) ~ At a health farm managed by Mr. Mooney, Lucy and Rosie (Ann Sothern) pedal away the pounds!
Tumblr media
“Happy Anniversary and Goodbye” (1974) ~ Norma and Fay (Nanette Fabray) keep fit for their husbands in Ball’s first post-series TV special. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a masseur.
SONG CYCLE
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Generation Gap” (1969) ~ Includes the song “Daisy Bell” aka “Bicycle Built for Two” written in 1892 by British songwriter Harry Dacre.
Tumblr media
The song is heard again in “Lucy’s Lucky Day” (1971).
You’ll look sweet Upon the seat Of a bicycle built for two!
CALL ME MR. BIKE
Tumblr media
“Tennessee Ernie Hangs On” (1954) ~ featured Richard Reeves as Ernie’s old pal Lester Bike, host of “Milliken’s Chicken Mash Hour”.  “Lucy Saves Milton Berle” (1964) ~ featured Milton Frome as Jerry Bike, Berle’s agent. The agent’s name is never spoken aloud, but is listed in the end credits.

How Peugeot Caused an Advertising Stampede
In this series, Squideo has examined the best ways to turn advertising content into gold. Now that we’ve broken down the eight key ingredients, it’s time to dive deep into some examples of stellar advertising. This week, the advert in question was picked by Squideo’s Account Director, Adam Shelton.
When asked why this Peugeot advert had become his favourite, Adam said: “It accomplished everything an advert is meant to. It’s memorable, it’s unique and it keeps the product front and centre. Plus the bit with the elephant is hilarious.”
Tumblr media
The Peugeot Roars
You don’t need to be a driver to have heard of Peugeot. You’ll have encountered this French brand from buying your first bicycle to equipping your kitchen. Peugeot was founded in 1810 – over 200 years’ ago – by the Peugeot family who retained majority shares in the automotive company until 2014. Peugeot manufactured a vast variety of products in its early years, from hand-held saws to pepper grinders.
Eventually they branched out into bicycle production, car manufacturing and motorcycle making. Amazingly, they still continue to make kitchen tools under Peugeot Saveurs. Cycles Peugeot and Peugeot Motorcycles are also still on the go, and they make vehicles for motor racing events under Peugeot Sport. Up until 1986, they even had their own cycling team which won ten titles at the Tour de France.
Like many car manufacturers, Peugeot have acquired other brands and ownership of this company has changed hands repeatedly. In the 20th century, Peugeot took over Hotchkiss, Chenard-Walcker, Citroën and Chrysler Europe. As of 2021, Peugeot is owned by Stellantis – a multinational automotive manufacturing corporation which was created after the merger of major American, French and Italian manufacturers. A member of the Peugeot family is part of Stellantis’ senior management, demonstrating the power and influence Peugeot has built and maintained since 1810.
Tumblr media
2 Fast 2 Peugeot
Created by Euro RSCG of Milan-Italy, The Sculptor was released in 2003 to critical acclaim – winning numerous international awards. The car promoted in the advert, the Peugeot 206, was released in 1998 as a replacement of the 205 model. Within ten years, the 206 had become Peugeot’s best-selling car.
The advert was so popular that fifteen years later the BBC show Top Gear recreated it in celebration of the Peugeot 206’s anniversary. On its twentieth anniversary, Peugeot also released a recreation of the advert with the Peugeot 208 replacing the 206. To accomplish this, several months were spent at Ajeenkya D Y Patil University in 2002 where engineers painstakingly converted the Hindustan Ambassador.
In the advert, a motorist turns his Ambassador – an iconic Indian car that started life as a Morris Oxford – into a Peugeot 206. Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., who has since gone on to become the director of Netflix’s first Dutch film, The Sculptor is considered one of the best car adverts of all time.
According to the award-winning Creative Director Adrian Holmes:
“A film I’ve always loved is a commercial for the Peugeot 206 called ‘The Sculptor’, made by Euro RSCG Milan in 2002. You must know the one – the young Indian guy who gets an elephant to sit on his old jalopy (amongst other methods) so that it ends up looking like the car of his dreams. Everything about it – the story, the editing, the music, the casting – is simply frame perfect. Apart from anything else, it stands as a monument to the brave and imaginative client who said ‘yes’ to such a wonderful and daring piece of work.”
Peugeot Rides Again
The 206 went on to be Peugeot’s best-selling model of all time, and one of the most popular cars ever made. Like the product, the advert selling it also swept the award boards in 2003: winning at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
From the car’s release in 1998 to 2003, the year of The Sculptor’s release, sales of the Peugeot 206 increased by 146 percent. But why was The Sculptor such a big hit?
Tumblr media
Real Renovations
The protagonist of the advert starts out with a Hindustan Ambassador and ends up with a Peugeot 206: the car of his dreams. The audience's expectation, after seeing the Ambassador destroyed, is that a pristine Peugeot 206 would be rolled out at the end. But that doesn’t happen. This car is dented, pummelled, bashed… there’s nothing pristine about it. Yet the protagonist still gets the attention of everyone who sees his new (old) car.
The fact that this advert really turned a Hindustan Ambassador into a Peugeot 206 is part of the reason this advert became so memorable. If they’d used CGI or switched out the car, the advert would have been like any other that uses a product swap.
International Intrigue
The name Peugeot forms an instant connection to its heritage: the brand is undeniably French. Setting the advert in French countryside or on Parisian streets would be predictable. Instead, The Sculptor is set in an Indian city. Why? To show that the car belongs anyway. Can be desired by anyone. It has international appeal.
The setting is also the home of the Hindustan Ambassador, India’s most popular car which was manufactured from 1957 to 2014 and called the “King of Indian Roads.” Once it fell out of production, the car became wildly collectable – but eleven years earlier in 2003 they were still easy to come by. A popular everyday car; much like the Peugeot 206. Stylistically, however, they’re worlds apart which is what made this a great before and after choice. The 206 was meant to be a new design for a new millennium, leaving behind the boxy style of the 20th century.
Mood Music
The advert plays to the song Heaven Is A Place On Earth by Raja Mushtaq, later remixed as Husan by Bhangra Knights. This bhangra dance song ended up charting, made it on Now That’s What I Call Music! 55, and sold over 20 million copies. Bhangra dance music is a non-traditional Punjabi music originating in British-Asian communities. It first emerged in the 1970s, seeing a resurgence in the 2000s that Peugeot got ahead of with its music choice.
This upbeat song only briefly appears after the protagonist successfully converts his Hindustan Ambassador into the Peugeot 206 and the non-traditional bhangra music symbolises the successful alteration of the vehicle.
Content Worth Gold

During the preliminary stage of design on The Star Sisters (Starla, Jewelstar and Tallstar), the design team at Mattel brainstormed several ideas for potential features to be packed out with or included on the figures. This installment will focus on some of the fascinating ideas that were ultimately abandoned, mainly due to the cost involved in incorporating them. Fans will also be treated to Jon's extremely detailed explanation regarding one of the "hiccups" the team experienced with Jewelstar, when going from illustrations and model prototype to produced sample. On occasion, I will interject with some of my own thoughts to give my personal feelings on the subject matter or to inform the readers. As in Part 1, Jon's statements will be in bold text. [[note: indented]]
"Of course, when a toy designer begins work in the prelim stage of design, there is no lack of spectacular ideas, bells and whistles. Everything AND the kitchen sink is tapped for inspiration. We were going to have Starla stand on a small three inch diameter rotating base that would spin when slid across the floor or a hard surface, i.e. a table top, thus she'd spin into action."
(Note to the readers: A pink combination spinning stand and backpack was included with Spinnerella, a rare, highly sought after figure, who made a limited appearance during the release of the 3rd wave of figures. However I am unsure if the design of this stand would have been identical to the one dreamed-up for Starla. What I do know, is that Starla appears alongside Spinnerella inside of the unproduced Bubble Carriage vehicle shown in one of the Mattel toy catalogs.)
"Crystal Star was going to have a sparkle feature where a thumb wheel in her back would activate a friction wheel that would ignite sparks housed within her clear glitter impregnated plastic torso. However, there is the pragmatic phase of honing this all down to the most suitable and doable ideas that are cost effective. Eventually due to the targeted price points, manufacturing costs, budget constraints, affordability and the ultimate goal of meeting the typical product margin, all these wonderful ideas end up cast to the wayside via "Toy Heaven."
The Star Sisters were "feature driven" dolls, where each required what is called a "demonstrative feature." Starla had the star glitter pack with the thumb actuator to agitate the encapsulated clear glycerin fluid with suspended glitter. This was a natural feature for her that translated very well and was cost effective. Crystal Star was designed to fold down into crystal formation. The in-house prototype model worked far better than what eventually emerged in the ultimately produced sample. Something was lost in translation regarding the hinge mechanics developed by the outside vendor, despite sufficient diagrams, illustrations and a model prototype. Subsequently, we decided this flaw was something we were going to later correct during development of the first phase prototypes from Hong Kong production. However, the very appealing glitter impregnated clear pink-peach color of the molded parts was quite beautiful in this mechanically flawed prototype. So for this reason, due to its better aesthetics, it was used for the catalogue photo shoot (Note to the readers: The prototypes shown in the Italian catalog differ from those in the American catalog), whereas the in-house version, though it functioned much better, was less attractive because it was molded in a more opaque and milky resin, not clear enough, which was painted with glitter, externally. Tall Star's feature was decided right off the bat in her "Expandra" incarnation where accordion plastic tubes bridged between the joints of her limbs, waist and neck and was immediately a favorite amongst all concerned. So her subsequent development became one more of aesthetical material decisions, i.e. vacuum metalized plastic versus translucent glitter impregnated plastic, iridescent colored hair versus metallic Mylar accented colored hair, face paint and the "color breaks" to her whole body's aesthetical composition, and so on.
The marketing group mutually and periodically reviewed the design development of the product as we progressed, which is standard practice to keep everyone in the loop and aware of design direction, and of course they submitted their input and suggestions to further enhance the dolls, "play pattern" and the line. Often much out of the control of a toy design group things will change in the "post-takeover phase" where marketing has more persuasion, i.e. Tall Star's name change."
Speaking of the marketing group, one of the most thrilling pieces of history to emerge from the discussions between Jon and I was that, at one point, marketing advocated the addition of a separate collectible item to be packed out with each doll, with the intention of fostering and promoting collectibility. I was instantly intrigued, awe-struck, and (enter about a dozen more related adjectives) because these collectible items would have further expounded on The Star Sisters' powers and delved into the dimension of the esoteric. I felt this harkened back to the darker tone set in the Masters of the Universe toy line in the early pre-Filmation days when everything was a bit more vague and therefore mysterious. (i.e. the Spirit of Castle Grayskull or apparitions appearing to dissuade Skeletor from entering the castle, a corridor etc. or the idea that Castle was built by unknown hands.) Jon explains the idea behind these unusual collectibles:
"...each doll would come with a crystal from the stars, a Star Crystal, that possessed an intangible and innate "Power of Starlight" that, via a Wicca-type incantation recited by the child, could be summoned and evoked forth from the etherial realm of the celestials and brought down to Eternia, manifesting through The Star Sisters a "supernatural presence."
In the end, cost reductions prohibited the addition of this feature.

Ashley Rossi's Journey from Culinary Arts to Founding VShred Threads
Ashley Rossi is a multifaceted entrepreneur, designer, and creative powerhouse who has revolutionized the activewear industry through her brand, VShred Threads. Her story is one of resilience, creativity, and a unique blend of experiences that have shaped her into a dynamic leader in fashion and fitness. While she is best known today for her role as the Founder and Creative Director of VShred Threads, her entrepreneurial journey began far from the fashion world, in the kitchens of her family’s Italian restaurants. Rossi’s ability to merge her passion for business, fashion, and fitness has not only made her a force in the industry but also a role model for women aspiring to create their own paths.
Early Beginnings: A Culinary Foundation
Ashley Rossi was born into a large Italian family in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where food and family were at the center of everything. Her family owned and operated several Italian restaurants, and Rossi spent her formative years immersed in the fast-paced, high-energy environment of the culinary world. It was here that she developed a deep appreciation for entrepreneurship, creativity, and the hard work that goes into building a successful business.
"Growing up in the restaurant industry taught me the value of discipline and teamwork," Rossi recalls. "I saw firsthand what it took to create something from scratch and turn it into something people loved. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my career."
While the culinary world shaped her work ethic, it was her creative spirit that truly drove her. From a young age, Rossi had a passion for art, particularly painting and drawing, which eventually led her to pursue a career in fashion. Despite being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of restaurant life, Rossi always found time to indulge her artistic side, winning awards for her artwork and nurturing her dream of becoming a designer.
Transitioning to Fashion and Business
Though Rossi was offered a scholarship to study painting in college, she chose to follow her heart into the world of fashion and business. This decision marked a turning point in her life, as it allowed her to combine her creative talents with the entrepreneurial lessons she had learned from her family.
During her college years, Rossi began designing clothing and manufacturing for various brands, gaining valuable experience and building a network in the fashion industry. Even before graduating, she had already established herself as a talented designer with a keen eye for trends and a deep understanding of how to create clothes that resonated with consumers. Her early success in fashion was driven by her unique ability to design garments that not only looked good but made the wearer feel confident and empowered.
"I’ve always believed that fashion is a form of self-expression, but it’s also about how you feel when you wear something," Rossi says. "I wanted to create clothes that help women feel their best, both inside and out."
The Intersection of Fitness and Fashion
While fashion was her primary career focus, fitness was a constant in Rossi’s life. An accomplished athlete, Rossi excelled in sports like soccer and track and field, breaking records and winning awards throughout her youth. Fitness was more than just a hobby; it was a way for her to stay disciplined, focused, and balanced amid the demands of her professional life.
As her career in fashion continued to evolve, Rossi saw an opportunity to merge her love for fitness with her passion for design. She noticed that while there were plenty of activewear brands on the market, few truly focused on both performance and aesthetics in a way that empowered women. This realization sparked the idea for VShred Threads, an activewear line that would offer high-quality, fashion-forward workout gear designed to make women feel strong, confident, and stylish.
The Birth of VShred Threads
In 2021, Rossi founded VShred Threads, an extension of the popular fitness brand VShred. The activewear line was created with the modern woman in mind—someone who juggles a busy lifestyle, values fitness and wellness, and wants to look great while doing it all. Rossi’s vision was clear from the start: to design activewear that not only performs well during workouts but also enhances the wearer’s confidence throughout the day.
"With VShred Threads, I wanted to create pieces that women could wear beyond the gym," Rossi explains. "Our goal was to design clothes that were functional, comfortable, and stylish enough to take you from a workout to running errands or meeting friends."
Each piece in the VShred Threads collection is carefully crafted using high-performance fabrics that offer durability, flexibility, and comfort. Rossi spent over a year developing the line, ensuring that every detail—from the fabric’s texture to the fit and contouring—was designed with the customer in mind. The result is a collection that features vibrant colors, flattering cuts, and fabrics that move with the body, giving women the confidence to take on whatever their day brings.
A Brand Built on Empowerment
At the core of VShred Threads is Rossi’s belief that clothing can be a powerful tool for empowerment. She designed the brand not just to offer stylish activewear but to inspire women to embrace their personal greatness. Through her collaboration with VShred, Rossi has also become a source of motivation for women who follow the brand for workout tips, health advice, and inspiration.
"Empowerment is a huge part of what we do at VShred Threads," Rossi says. "We’re not just selling clothes—we’re helping women feel stronger, more confident, and capable of achieving their goals."
This message of empowerment has resonated with VShred Threads’ growing fan base. The brand has quickly gained a loyal following of women who appreciate the combination of high-quality activewear and the positive, uplifting community that Rossi and her team have built.
The Future of VShred Threads and Beyond
As VShred Threads continues to grow, Rossi remains focused on expanding the brand while staying true to its core mission of empowering women through fashion and fitness. She has plans to introduce new collections and continue pushing the boundaries of activewear design, all while keeping her eye on sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices.
For Ashley Rossi, the journey from the kitchens of her family’s restaurant to the helm of a thriving fashion brand has been one of growth, creativity, and passion. Her ability to merge her entrepreneurial instincts with her love for fashion and fitness has resulted in a brand that not only looks good but makes women feel incredible. As she continues to lead VShred Threads into the future, there’s no doubt that Ashley Rossi’s influence on the fashion and fitness industries will only continue to grow.
Conclusion
Ashley Rossi’s journey from culinary arts to fashion and fitness entrepreneurship is a testament to her resilience, creativity, and passion for empowering others. Through VShred Threads, she has created a brand that goes beyond activewear, offering women confidence, strength, and a sense of empowerment. As Rossi continues to evolve her business, she remains dedicated to inspiring women to embrace their greatness, both inside and out.
