Okok can I ask how and when Lummis and Petunia find out that PV is supposed to be sealed away forever??? I've gotta know pls ur au is so awesome oml
AA THANK YOU, I'M ALWAYS HAPPY TO TALK ABOUT MY BABYGIRLS
So, PV visited them the day before their accolade. They'd often sneak around and come visit them in the late evenings when their duties for the day were finished and they were sent to their room, sometimes even managing to catch them during supper so they could sit and eat with them, just like on that day. Their presentation to Hallownest was a public event, so they were very relieved to hear that none of them had plans to go hear Pale King's announcement because they already had plans for a family dinner. They had no intentions of telling them either, they didn't want their last moments together to be soured. They wanted their loved ones to remember them as they knew them, not as a sacrificial lamb clad in heavy, restrictive armour and chains. They'd find out eventually. PV wrote a letter to them that they asked Hornet to deliver after they've been sealed.
Of course, things didn't turn out as they had planned, and after they panicked and ran from the throne room they went to the one place they felt safest at; their home. They needed comfort and assurance so they ran to the only people they felt safe around at that moment.
They were cleaning up after dinner when they heard frantic knocking on the door and when they opened it there stood PV, still in their fancy armour and crying their eyes out, and they immediately burst into barely comprehensible strong of apologies.
They of course took them in and let them sit on the couch and Lummis' mother, Allene, went to make them some calming tea. Eventually, they calmed down enough and immediately came clear about everything. At least, as much as they could without devolving into hours of explanation.
They told them of the entire plan, their training, the fact they were meant to be sealed with Radiance today had they not panicked, and of course of their nature relating to void. And then to top it all off, they confessed that the Pale King and White Lady were their parents.
They were reasonably shocked, to say the least. But unlike PV thought they would be, they weren't angry nor did they blame them. I mean, they lost a good portion of their life and were scheduled to be sealed with a wrathful goddess for the rest of eternity, who could blame them for wanting to have a normal life and be treated normally?
They were angry, just not at them. All of this was bad enough, but the fact that they did this to their own child? Petunia has no self-preservation skills because if she could she would absolutely fist-fight a God.
PV eventually figures that the guards are looking for them and, not wanting to get their loved ones in trouble, they decide to leave their house, even when their partners and family protest. They weren't sure if they wanted to come back to the palace, until they stumbled upon Hornet who was also looking for them and she convinced them to come back with her and come clean.
After the accolade disaster part two: electric boogaloo, they come back to them again. Again, crying their eyes out. And this time stay with them for two weeks to cool off until they get enough courage to return home. They just didn't want to deal with the immediate fallout of All Of That.
There is a layer of hilarity to this though, because Petunia not only constantly criticised PK and made jokes about him, but he is also a professional comedian so these jokes weren't limited to their partners and family.
So you can only imagine their reaction when PV essentially went "Hey so you know that guy you've been continuously joking about and insulting for the past three years that we've known each other? Yeah, that's my dad."
#asks#faaf au#In the original idea Hornet actually picked them up from their household which got the reaction of 'IS THAT THE FUCKING PRINCESS?'#But while it was funny I decided it just took away too much from the scene so I changed it#It's okay though PV has a few other friends that they still need to tell this to so the 'IS THAT THE FUCKING PRINCESS?' can still happen

New very simple crk au
Dark Cacao and PV swap places, so almost everything is the same but Dark Cacao sacrificed himself for his friends and Earthbread. Oh, but what's this? He left his young heir behind. Poor thing... he's only a kid!
Hah, I feel like I need to write about the fatherless man except he switches places with Custard Cookie the III. So basically Custard Cookie the III betrayed PV and did something sinister ig? He still has the same personality but he's around Dark Chocos age in game, so I'd give him 25-35 years old while Dark Choco in this AU is a little kid who was forced to flee his kingdom with the help of Affogato Cookie because (as much as it hurts to say this) Caramel Arrow Cookie accepted a deal with Dark forces to help the kingdom keep in good shape. It was in good intentions but since i want to swap a few things around it feels like I should swap Affogato and Caramel Arrow.
Dark Choco isn't wearing a crown and doesn't fully understand that he's royalty, all he knows is that Dark Cacao, his father, is nowhere to be found. I might write more about this but don't worry it'll be not as much as my other AU! I just need the occasional angst to be a little sad over, y'know?
IF YOU WANT SPOILERS FOR WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN OR IDEAS I HAVE IT'S IN THE KEEP READING SECTION SO BE CAREFUL!
Definitely gonna be a wholesome interaction between White Lily and Dark Choco, Dark Cacao will join the group in disguise. Dark Choco probably gets an army out of cakes since he really likes them and knows what they like. So I imagine Dark Cacao in disguise tries to protect Dark Choco while he's trying to befriend a cake. Dark Choco won't recognize him but will definitely stay near him since he feels drawn to him. Dark Cacao will do as much as he can to protect Dark Choco since he's only a little kid. Sadly neither will recognize the other since Dark Cacao would've had sacrificed himself before his son had grown more. Dark Choco wouldn't be able to have any memory of how his father looks so when Dark Cacao eventually asks he'd say something along the lines of "I don't know, my father had to go when I was really little. But my friend told me that I'll see him again one day! I can't say I know why he left though..." Dark Cacao would look at the poor little cookie who is now looking down at the ground clearly a little sad and disheartened. Dark Cacao would attempt to console the young cookie and tell him that he had never got to see his son grow.
Eventually when they'd get into the Citadel walls when the disguised Dark Cacao would be captured but Dark Choco would follow him, evading capture thanks to Affogato Cookie who got to keep his high status. Both of the two would get him out thanks to Affogato teaching Dark Choco how to be smart and strong, so Dark Choco and Affogato came up with a plan to free Dark Cacao. Then the light of resolution would do the magical anime girl transformation and Dark Cacao would ask questions to Affogato asking things like What happened here, is the kingdom alright, etc. Most importantly he would ask Affogato how he knew this child. Affogato would then question him asking "Do you not recognize him? Seriously, he's almost a spitting image of you my liege!" Dark Choco would look at Affogato Cookie in confusion "Why would he recognize me? We've only been adventuring together, beyond that I don't even know him!" Dark Cacao though about it over and over again in his head until it struck him! He kneeled down to become closer to the young cookie's height "I don't believe I ever got your name or the name of your father young one, would you mind telling me?" Dark Cacao inquired softly as to not intimidate the child. "Oh, Okay! My name is Dark Choco Cookie, this is my friend Affogato Cookie, and my father's name was Dark Cacao Cookie! Why do you ask?" Dark Choco looked into his father's eyes unknowingly. Dark Cacao lit up, he pick up the boy, spinning around and holding his arms and hugged him, Dark Cacao Cookie shed a few tears while holding Dark Choco. Dark Choco was so confused and was wondering what was happening. Dark Cacao, still holding tight onto the young cookie with no intent of letting go unless nesacary said in-between tears "I missed you so much... son"
Ok I'm rlly tired so uh yeah I might write abt this after I'm done with the first au

IOTA Reviews: Rocketear
The Rocketeer is a 1991 Disney movie set in 1930's America where a test pilot gets a jetpack and uses it to fight Nazis and— Wait, what? “Rocketear”? Oh, damn it!
Let's get into the eleventh (chronologically the seventeenth) episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fourth season: Rocketear.
We start off with Carapace and Cat Noir struggling to hold back some T-Rexes brought back to life by a scientist Jurassic Park style. Seriously, they reference the movie in the same scene.
Why wasn't this the plot of the episode again?
After managing to tame the dinosaurs with a whistle of all things, Ladybug notices something's wrong with Nino after he gives the Turtle Miraculous back to her. Apparently, he's wondering why Rena Rouge (who he knows is Alya) wasn't recruited with him today. Ladybug tells him that he was the only help she needed today. In reality, it's because Alya has adjusted to her new role of supporting Ladybug behind the scenes in her new form, Rena Furtive.
And I'm not a fan of the new form. I get the camo, but it doesn't really help her blend in when her suit is bright blue. I think it's based off the arctic fox, but that animal is able to camouflage itself because it's fur matches the snowy environment. I'm sure a bright blue jumpsuit won't stand out when she tries to blend in at all. Also, the fact that Alya can just change her hero form gives even less excuses as to why Ladybug's new form is only when she uses her Lucky Charm.
Alya is struggling to keep this a secret from Nino because they don't have a lot of secrets in their relationship. Marinette says she can kind of get it because she had to keep her identity a secret from her friend and has to keep keeping her identity a secret from everyone else. Basically, she's telling Alya to suck it up because this is what being a superhero is.
So the next time she sees Nino, Alya tells him she's no longer Rena Rouge, but not about Rena Furtive, which troubles her. The very next scene shows Alya showing Marinette pictures she took of her new costume and asking her which version looks better.
You could always try reviewing Akuma fights. I heard there's one blog that does it when they're not criticizing the famous director Thomas Astruc on social media.
Yeah, in case you can't tell, Alya was only able to rent her brain for a few episodes because she really doesn't seem as understanding about being a superhero as she was in earlier episodes. In episodes like “Optigami” and “Sentibubbler”, we saw Alya use more strategy and show discretion as Rena Rouge, seemingly taking her job more seriously, but then this episode just had to go and piss it all away. I also love how the first time the animators made Alya's skin the same when she's transformed is in a single frame for a joke.
Alya thankfully deletes the picture, but Nino overhears her talking about struggling to find more content for the Ladyblog, and decides to go to the movies with her to help take her mind off things. Nino, in turn, proceeds to give the same reaction to the in-universe Ladybug movie that Astruc gives to the PV.
Apparently, that movie's already getting a sequel and it has a teaser. So was the sequel animated at the same time as the original like Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III?
Nino gets pissed the next movie in the Ladybug Cinematic Universe will feature Rena Rouge and not Carapace... even though Rena Rouge debuted first. The teaser then shows Rena Rouge falling for Cat Noir (yet another creative liberty taken by the writers or something Astruc's self-insert threw in himself), and takes it like it's the real thing. Dude, the first movie said Ladybug was afraid of cats, and the director yelled at the person it was based on for judging it. He clearly has a hard time distinguishing fiction from reality.
Alya leaves Nino early so she can go on patrol, but Nino sees Cat Noir heading out as well. He then watches a video on the Ladyblog where Alya praises Cat Noir which is totally not Astruc projecting or anything.
I don't know what your definition of a prince is, Alya, and I honestly don't want to know.
So Nino takes this as evidence that Alya is in love with Cat Noir and decides to tell Adrien, who naturally laughs him off. And just before you think we have an episode where Adrien plays the straight man, Adrien decides to visit Alya because he's afraid he accidentally charmed Alya.
Yes, because Cat Noir is so charming, girls are just fighting over him, aren't they?
We then cut to a black and white film noir monologue by Nino (dressed like a detective with a fake mustache), who decides to spy on Alya. When Cat Noir asks Alya if she is attracted to him, she naturally laughs him off, though Cat Noir is thankfully a good sport about it, even giving her a hug to apologize. Unfortunately, Nino took this the wrong way.
The next day at school, Nino takes Adrien into his “office” (it's really an excuse to reuse the boiler room setpiece), and shows him the picture of the hug. Adrien says that Alya would never fall for Cat Noir because she's always dedicated to finding out the truth and telling her boyfriend everything. What's Nino's retort?
Okay, several problems with this bit. First of all, why would Nino even tell Adrien any of this? What would it accomplish? Why not say all this to Alya while confronting her about her alleged unfaithfulness? Second, Ladybug didn't give Nino and Alya their Miraculous at the same time until it was an absolute emergency. She outright said in “Hero's Day” that she didn't have time to recruit Nino and Alya separately.
Ladybug: I'm sorry for what I'm about to do. I know I'm revealing your secret identities but I don't have time to find a good excuse to give them to you separately. Rena Rouge and Carapace, I need you both!
Nino and Alya kept their identities secret from each other until then, with Alya even keeping the fact she knew who Carapace was a secret as well. Nino didn't find out because “they don't hide anything from each other” (which I plan to talk about later).
Other than that, I actually liked Adrien in this scene. It was really investing to see him try to justify the whole secret identities rule while Nino blatantly said there was an exception. This is the kind of stuff I wanted to see when it came to Adrien doubting Ladybug, not him destroying things in his anger.
While Nino rants about how Cat Noir “stole” Alya from him, Shadowmoth sends an Akuma his way, turning him into Rocketear.
And the design he has is just boring. It's just a blue jumpsuit with some black spots that look like teardrops, a teardrop-shaped head and a visor. I think the reason this season's been relying more on past Akumas and using more Sentimonsters is because DQ is terrible at character designs. I mean, compare this suit with Aigraon from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (his Power Rangers counterpart is Wrench from Dino Charge).
The design does so much more with the teardrop motif, giving him a perpetually miserable face with tear lines going all over his body. Add that to a more diverse color scheme, and you have a much more visually stunning design. And this was created in real life, not rendered on a computer. I'm not sure if this is a budget thing or a laziness thing, but if it's the former, you really need to do better, animators.
The powers are meh, giving Nino the ability to fling explosive tears at enemies. It's a clever idea, and it makes sense he gets a power that parallels Cat Noir's, but I think maybe it would have been more interesting if he couldn't control the tears at all. Like, imagine if he was constantly crying like Blue Diamond, and with every tear he shed, Rocketeer could send it at whoever he felt was causing him misery, mainly Cat Noir, all while serving as a metaphor for people who blame others for their own personal issues. Better yet, make him look like the detective outfit Nino wore for the second act. It would have made him more unpredictable instead of making his tears generic projectile weapons.
Marinette and Alya see the fight and transform into Ladybug and Rena Furtive respectively, the former summoning her Lucky Charm, a projector. Is it just me, or has this been happening with Ladybug a lot recently?
Back to Rocketear, we get a good moment where Cat Noir intentionally lets the Akuma hit him so he can get a chance to resolve things diplomatically. See, this is a moment where Cat Noir's self-sacrificing nature feels heroic and not selfish like when he does it without Ladybug's permission to spite her. Unfortunately, it doesn't really go anywhere as Ladybug shows up and plays the recording Nino took (Alya found his phone earlier), while Rena Furtive uses her Mirage to give the audio to what actually happened that night.
Rena transforms back into Alya and embraces Rocketear, who apologizes to her for his behavior. And then he just... rejects Shadowmoth's power while looking like it wasn't that much effort.
At least when Chloe and Alya did it, we saw them struggling for a little longer. I guess maybe it's because Nino is motivated by his love for Alya, but I think it should have been fleshed out more. So Ladybug purifies the Akuma, gives Nino a Magical Charm, and Cat Noir is still unsure about his feelings for Ladybug at the moment, though they still pound it.
Back in his room, Adrien ponders why Alya and Nino get to know their identities while he and Ladybug can't, but Plagg points out it's because she's the Guardian. It's brief, but I do like seeing Adrien start to doubt Ladybug's judgment, and it looks like it'll foreshadow future episodes. This is a problem I've had since “Hero's Day”, and I'm glad the writers are finally acknowledging this double standard. I just hope they don't end up blaming Marinette for whatever happens later on.
Marinette, of course, apologizes for what happened between Alya and Nino, and I have to say... yeah, no. It's obviously Nino's fault here.
Nino really pushed personal boundaries in this episode, much like Marinette's friends in “Gang of Secrets”. Yes, honesty is a valuable trait, but sometimes, people have secrets they want to keep to themselves. Nino's idea of “not hiding anything from each other” is somewhat controlling, like he's demanding Alya tell him everything whether she wants to or not. The fact that he immediately assumed Alya was cheating on him without giving her freedom to make her own choices doesn't make him look good. Let's be honest, a more realistic outcome would be Alya choosing to break things off with Nino or at least lecture him about how she can do what she wants and keep the secrets she wants. But instead...
And that's how the episode ends.
Okay, Marinette just said she trusted Alya to make the right decision, but I highly doubt she meant this. Marinette strictly said Alya had to keep Rena Furtive a secret, and now she's telling Nino this despite the risk? The whole reason Marinette and Luka broke up was because Marinette had to keep her secrets from Luka, but now it's okay for Alya to be completely honest? How is this not a double standard?
This episode was just dull, and there’s not even much I can really say about it.. There were a handful of standout moments, and the stuff with Adrien was somewhat compelling, but Nino's behavior was just insufferable and dragged the episode down. The Akuma fight was weak, only lasting about four minutes at most, and while the Lucky Charm was more creative this time, the plot was just frustrating. It's really one of the weaker episodes this season.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to watch the better Rocketeer.

Upcoming Fanart Info!
I finished my @kwamiswaps week art a few minutes ago, and boy let me tell you, it took forever. It’s just tagged and put in my queue for each day (I think each is scheduled for like 9-10 AM or something my time? So a few things to note about each character if y’all are interested, I have basic info below the cut about each swap and my basic headcanons about it.
If I tagged you below the cut, it means I used your existing au as inspiration for some of my designs in the coming week, and I wanted to credit you as inspiration before my queue catches up!
Tikki
Adrien - Okay just, whatever happens in canon, all that I ask is that Adrien calls Mari “Chaton”/”Kitty” it will warm my dead, dead heart understand?
Alya - basically my personal design for @lunian‘s Ladybird AU. It’s awesome, go read their comics and stuff! I just like Alya’s Rena cape thing, so I went for ladybug wings - Fennette will be a thing too for Trixx’s day!
Nino - The fact of the matter is in this AU, Mari was like Nino is the responsible level-headed person of this friend group he’d make the best superhero and gives him the ladybug miraculous. He and Chat!Adrien are the best of friends, and Adrien lowkey crushes on him almost as bad as Mari!Ladybug.
Chloe - yeah, my interpretation of the wonderful @zoe-oneesama‘s Scarlet Lady AU. My version of Marigold will get featured, too :)
Luka - Plain and simple, Master Fu showed up a few years earlier, and ran into this kindhearted musician before Mari. TBH Luka is one of my faves, so he’s going to show up for the majority of the week because I loved playing around with designs for him
Felix - He doesn’t get cursed with bad luck, but with a kwami that insists he be responsible and help poor Lady Noir (Bridgette) break her curse. He’s gentler, kinder as a bug than as Felix, always happy to help others and to calm akuma victims after a fight. He’s drawn to Lady Noir, ever melancholy and mysterious, and lets himself loose with an edge against Bridgette because that’s how he’s always been.
Plagg
Marinette - Again, based off of the canon leaked art. I just really, really hope she’ll call Adrien some version of My Lady, and make at least one cat pun, either unintentionally or specifically for Adrien’s benefit so he can squeal over it.
Alya - Instead of Master Fu picking Adrien, he asks New Ladybug who she would like by her side. Obviously Alya is the first choice, and she’s ecstatic to be a superhero, keeping the Ladyblog focused on Ladybug because, you know, she can’t record herself. Nino and Adrien crush HARD on the new superheroes, and while that frustrates Mari, Alya is absolutely delighted.
Nino - Adrien pulls a Marinette, afraid that he’ll get caught since he’s under so much scrutiny as a model with a ton of visibility, and though it physically pains him to not fulfill his magical girl dreams, he knows Nino would be an amazing hero. Nino takes it in stride, and he and Mari!Ladybug are the bros to end all bros. Alya, crushing on Chat!Nino, creates both the Ladyblog and another blog dedicated to Nino’s alter ego. His thought? Best girlfriend ever.
Chloe - I don’t really know how this would happen unless Adrien did the above, but with Chloe, thinking her confidence would be an asset? Mari as Ladybug would be irritated by Mistress Noir, but it becomes a series of growing moments for Chloe, because she gets to see what a destructive force she really can be on people’s lives and gets better at the Friend Thing.
Luka - My boy omg this one was fun to draw. So
Bridgette - Reverse PV like Luka’s - Bridgette thought her luck was bad enough with her being unable to speak at a normal pace and pitch in front of her crush, not to mention her clumsiness makes her look like a fool in front of him during their dance classes. Now she’s cursed with a tiny god of destruction and a Perfect Superhero Partner - well, at least her clumsiness disappears when she’s Lady Noir. A shadow to Lordbug’s light. She knows it’s as hopeless to try and break her curse with him as it is to get together with Felix, so she just stands aside as his protector.
Trixx
Marinette - See the Ladybird AU with Alya; I couldn’t help myself!
Adrien - In the world where Alya is Chat and Mari is Ladybug, the two need help against the multiplying twins, same as before. Except Mari goes to lonely Adrien who she knows would be amazing.
Nino - The above babysitting disaster happens to be Nino’s little cousin, Chris, rather than Alya’s sisters, so Mari offers the fox miraculous to him. He and Adrien get to be bros for all sides of the mask. Alya makes an entirely new blog dedicated to the new fox.
Chloe - I really don’t know how she would get her hands on the fox, unless she made like Queen Bee and stole it, which I suppose is plausible. Maybe I can do way better than Lila because I won’t be faking it kind of thing?
Luka - He probably would get this if another akuma was the reason they needed the Fox - maybe if Fu gave it to Ladybug while his mom was akumatized and he was worried about everyone’s safety.
Felix - He was free of the Black Cat’s curse, and the miraculous could no longer be his. It got passed to Adrien through Fu without him knowing, and as soon as he sees his little brother vaulting across the city in a catsuit (without stripper boots, what the hell Plagg why did you make me suffer this way) he storms up to Fu’s place and says give me the fox those are children my god and becomes Mentor #1 to the new Chat and Ladybug. Naturally, no one catches on that he’s himself. He’s a professional at this secret identity thing.
Wayzz
Marinette - In the world where Nino and Adrien are Ladybug and Chat respectively, Alya has been chosen as the fox. During Anansi, though, she’s captured - so Nino’s like omg Marinette could be the turtle and Marinette, upon receiving it, is having major panic mode set in, but you know, she does her best. Adrien takes a look at her protecting them and is like omg my Lady, a la Alya knowing exactly who Carapace was, but he keeps it to himself, and becomes more comfortable and flirty with Mari.
Adrien - Don’t know if this fits in with any of the others . . . but probably Chat!Chloe verse, and Marinette is like please can you be my partner forever
Alya - Instead of her getting kidnapped during Anansi, it’s Nino, since Nora had a beef with him being too girly. She totally saves him and fangirls over being a superhero and he just knows.
Chloe - How did this happen? I’m not even sure. But her being on the defensive is so out of character that I can’t even begin to rationalize it.
Luka - Both Alya and Nino are unavailable during Anansi, so Marinette is like, Luka was super helpful on the boat and is super nice let’s do this.
Bridgette - Fox!Felix verse - she sees her boyfriend, who was once Chat, as a fox teaching the two bb heroes the ropes. She goes to Fu, stands in the door with her eyebrow raised. Fu had meant for her to succeed him as guardian anyway, and she takes up a job at his place so he can still hang out with Wayzz. She becomes Mentor #2 and is basically Mulan in fighting style - totally unexpected strategies. (It’s her fault that identity reveals happen, idk how, but it is)
Pollen
Marinette - Marigold from the Lady Scarlet universe!
Adrien - From the universe where Chloe ends up as Chat, Marinette is super protective of this sunshine bee boy
Alya - Marinette actually? Gets the Bee Miraculous to Alya instead of losing it to Chloe?
Nino - Mari’s mind goes to Nino instead of Alya when the Bee is needed, and she makes it to him.
Alix - After seeing her do so awesome with Reverser, Marinette turns to Alix for help as the Bee.
Max - well, I don’t have too much of a headcanon for him, but kwamiswaps did a fanfic, so that’’s what this design is for! (I did little suspender stripes without meaning to omg I really do like how it turned out)
Dusuu
Marinette - I suppose in this AU, the Peacock wasn’t damaged, just disappeared - and, while visiting Adrien for a study session, she ends up with a new bird friend.
Adrien - He inherits it from his mom okay??? Like, Fu has it and knows and is like your mother would have wanted you to have this. And this pisses off Hawkmoth to no end because he thinks whoever stole it is Definitely Not Adrien and is disgracing his wife’s name and just more angst than I expected for this Bird Boy (which, of course, makes the running gag that he’s allergic to feathers hilarious - Dusuu does make him sneeze if they get in his face, but when he transforms he doesn’t have his allergy.
Alya - Swap the Peacock for the Fox - let’s just say Hawkmoth had a direct source to mess with Lila. Instead of illusions on the night the twins start multiplying, she creates a summoned creature to lure them all together.
Nino - The Peacock was damaged still, but Nino was willing to risk that to save his girlfriend and the city.
Chloe - Somehow, since the Mayor was friends with Gabriel and his wife, he ended up in possession of the Peacock before Gabriel knew what it was. Chloe gets her hands on it relatively at the same time she would have gotten the Bee and is just as Extra.
Jagged - Who knows? It was necessary to make this once it was suggested. Let it happen. He deserves to be a flashy birb.
Nooroo
Marinette - Mayura is the main villain in this universe, and Emilie is comatose because of a damaged Ladybug Miraculous. Adrien is still Chat, but he makes “my wings” and “my little butterfly” comments rather than “My Lady”. Gabriel has Nathalie generally doing his dirty work, and he calls Emilie his lady. It’s very sad and angsty. Mari uses her friends’ best qualities to fight against the beasts Mayura creates.
Adrien - He’s been Chat for some time, but now Gabriel has been revealed to him and Mari, and he gets really, really angry, and steals the miraculous as Adrien. This is a Problem. Plagg is concerned Adrien is getting too angry to deal with powers of destruction full-time, so Adrien brings him to Fu and alternates between Plagg and Nooroo, and he confronts Gabriel a lot as the Butterfly because betrayal reasons. Ladybug is concerned, but she trusts him and that’s what gets him through.
Nino - He is So Supportive of his friends, okay? He gets chosen as the Butterfly holder when, say, Bridgette has the Turtle and they manage to take it from Hawkmoth but still need help getting the Peacock or some other stolen one.
Chloe - Okay, this version of Chloe does not get a redemption arc, like, ever - she’s Hawkmoth. Straight up. She starts every akuma purposefully, becomes a villain, etc. Don’t ask why; I don’t know - attention? I prefer Redeemed!Chloe, but I feel like she’d totally be past saving as this particular supervillain.
Kagami - She’s a fencer, the Butterfly has a sword/cane, it’s a match! Adrien gets to pick some new holders in my personal headcanon. Let’s say while the Mouse and Snake go to Mari and Luka, they get the Butterfly so Adrien chooses Kagami because she tried to help him and she wouldn’t let her emotions get in the way when she chooses people with her powers. (I didn’t like my original Alya design for the butterfly, so we get Kagami instead!)
Felix - Brother!AU. He was Chat Noir when he was younger, has been abroad with Bridgette, and comes home to see the canon situation. He is Not Fooled by Adrien, Mari, anyone - he’s been there, and he has distance of not knowing most of the people involved, so he gets very, very, angry. He knows his father is Hawkmoth. So he steals the butterfly and sides with Ladybug and Chat Noir, who are both thankful but confused at this new Butterfly who’s So Angry - Adrien doesn’t figure it out, but he comforts Felix without meaning to and Felix is so touched. Felix eventually reveals that he knows who the previous Hawkmoth and the current (insert villain name) is - Gabriel Agreste. Obviously disbelief and angst, but he reveals himself and is like I am the last person to want Gabriel to be a supervillain so yeah and Agreste brotherly bonding and HawkDad butt-kicking and there.

Okay, I've got an idea for a thief!Marinette fic that I've already gotten started on, and it's Felinette-which I entirely blame you for-but anyways, I kinda wanted to pick your brain on Felix. I'm trying to get more of a sense of his character. Or, at least the version you've built up, since I think more of your version than any other.
Ooooooh, more Felinette? With thief!Marinette? Sign me up I would love to read it!
Let the ramble commence. Under cut because this is lengthy.
Much of Felix’s character I base off observations I make from the PV, looking at concepts, and considering possibilities. Not mindful, this is all speculation on my part. Can’t quite say if Felix would be like how I’ve portrayed him, but it’s what I see from what I’ve gathered. If you have different ideas for Felix and what he may be like, or could’ve been like; feel free to explore them! For sure I do think he is a lot more 3 dimensional than how some portray him, or at least he does have potential to be. You just have to grasp the possibility and play with it, you may be surprised what you can find.
Felix for sure is an introvert, a lot of concepts have him being alone, outside a group, and I say it’s likely that he personally likes/prefers to be alone since I haven’t seen any concept art of him looking lonely or looking longingly towards friends; or even really interacting with anyone else besides Marinette/Bridgette, and that’s largely because she comes to him and his response to her isn’t mutual or positive.
For sure, he is someone that is very blunt and isn’t afraid to tell you his thoughts. We see this a lot on he handles Bridgette. He makes it very clear to her constantly that he isn’t interested in having romantic relations with her. We also see this when he’s Chat Noir, he is very forward with his wants, and stubborn with his stance, still persisting to pursue LB despite her constantly ignoring him and brushing him off. If Felix has a want, he will stubbornly persist, if he isn’t happy or agreeable, he is more than happy to let you know.
Speaking of which, from what we see of Chat Noir, Felix can be very dramatic and flashy, especially when excited or ready. Like when he transforms, there was no one to put a show on for but here he goes, being so dramatic and into it.
Loosescrewslefty actually had a real cute idea that he was a lot more dramatic and expressive when he was a kid. Still a little shit, but had more flare to his character then, and it became a bit more subdue as he grew older, though his dramatics still pop out every now and then.
This is largely based on his design and how he holds himself, but I do see Felix as someone that cares about personal image, desires to be presentable and poised.
I can also guess that he is someone that doesn’t fall in love easily.
It’s easy to see with how he interacts with Bridgette, but we do also see this with his approach to LB, his supposed love interest. Felix’s pursuit of Ladybug wasn’t on pure romantic interest and attraction alone, he did admire her I am very sure of that; but his interest and approach was a deception, had an ulterior motive. I can understand that motive and why, but it’s still a dishonest approach for his love interest.
And based on speculation, that the miraculouses balance and counter each other, his wants would be devastating for LB. A kiss from LB frees him from a bad luck curse, so he doesn’t have to be forced to be a hero again and doesn’t have to be tormented by bad luck any more; but at a likely cost that Bridgette would’ve lost her gift of good luck, and could never be LB again, something she clearly loves being. I really can see that this would’ve been a devastating blow to her if she could no longer be LB, if a kiss with CN would rob her of that.
Now despite this dishonesty, I wouldn’t go saying that Felix is a full on jerk. Not only can you grasp his reasoning for this: suffering a bad luck curse he can’t escape, being tormented by a kwami that enjoys causing him misfortune, struggling with a responsibility he doesn’t want, likely father issues since the earlier concept of HM looks similar to Felix and is shown to be rather cold and distant; there are also two concepts that suggest to me that he isn’t as bad as he’s largely portrayed, something I haven’t really seen anyone talk about.
Though again, this is on the speculation that miraculouses on the concepts mirror each other.
1. The concept that if Bridgette used her good luck selfishly, she received bad luck.
2. This image.
A lot of people just focus on Felix being an ass and dropping an apple on Bridgette’s head; but considering that she has become a constant annoyance in his life, and considering the earlier concept of luck and it’s response to selfishness; it is likely that for Felix, anytime he uses his bad luck selfishly, to help himself; he receives good luck. This is the only concept I know that he uses his bad luck with a selfish intent, and for him, the good luck he receives is getting away from Bridgette.
Based on this speculation, if he did this more often, causing others misery, that means his luck would be fine; he wouldn’t suffer anymore. He’d be more of a villain, more of a jerk for sure; but from what we see, he doesn’t. This is the only concept I know where he uses his bad luck selfishly. If this is true, you can factor in that Felix is a character that purposely doesn’t look to cause trouble with anyone, not without being provoked, and Bridgette has sparked that response with her pursuits.
Now Felix on love, and by extension friendship as well; with Felix, I say that it’s a real slow burn approach.
With Felix, being the blunt introvert that he is; plus with his patience pushed short from his curse, is very likely to just piss off anyone he meets. And likely based on a wealthy background, may also look down on anyone he meets and knows is sociably below him. It is an idea I wouldn’t be surprised to see with him. And with likely no solid desire to make friends, will not care if feelings are hurt or if he has made a bad impression.
While it takes two to tango and any relationship, romantic or platonic, will need mutual care and effort, I do think that most of the progress will have to be made by Felix first.
To have a solid relationship of any kind, he has to want or at least not mind the person he’s befriending and hanging around. Someone he looks for to be with in group projects, what familiar and comfortable, respectful. And if he receives a positive response and the relationship flourishes, I do see him as one of those characters that, once they have befriended someone, it’s set for a long time. People he cares about will be few, but they will be important to him and he will watch out for them.
It will likely take a while to get to that point.
But it’s a fun road to travel, I’ve enjoyed it a good few times that I wrote and explored Felinette and Felix’s character.
Though again, this is speculation; it’s hard to say what’s really solid with him only a concept. If you have other ideas with Felix to explore on his character, go for them. He is open with possibilities, all you have to do is feel around and play with them.

USS Indianapolis
I haven’t posted a Ragin’ Cagein’ review in months; a grave offense on par with Nicy Poo’s hair (wig? spray paint?) in our next film: USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage. You probably haven’t heard of this movie because Cagey Kins churns out blockbusters (we’ll use that term very loosely) like he needs to pay back the IRS after bankruptcy…oh wait. Before pressing play, I decided to do a little research on the old Goog to see what pops up. It currently has 5.1/10 stars on IMDB, which is actually pretty good for our resident screamer. But then I saw the review on Rotten Tomatoes…9%...me thinks we found a winner. If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching this tasty treat, here is the trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExSDMWJhm_Q
Before diving in (pun intended…too soon?) here’s a little background on the event this movie attempts to recreate on screen, courtesy of Wikipedia:
Her sinking led to the greatest single loss of life at sea in the history of the U.S. Navy. On 30 July 1945, after a high-speed trip to deliver parts for Little Boy, the first atomic bomb used in combat, to the United States air base at Tinian, the ship was torpedoed by the Imperial Japanese Navy submarine I-58 while on her way to the Philippines, sinking in 12 minutes. Of 1,196 crewmen aboard, approximately 300 went down with the ship. The remaining 900 faced exposure, dehydration, saltwater poisoning, and shark attacks while floating with few lifeboats and almost no food or water. The Navy learned of the sinking when survivors were spotted four days later by the crew of a PV-1 Ventura on routine patrol. Only 317 survived.
U.S.S Indianapolis
Needless to say, this was and still is an incredibly tragic moment in U.S. history that should be treated with respect. So why was Nic Cage chosen to star in this film? Great question. And why I am choosing to review this movie in my snarky voice? Because it’s my duty as an American! (No it’s not).
I’ll be honest, I’m already pretty excited to watch this movie because it’s been several months since my last Cage experience and the opening credits is like a desert oasis when I saw this…
A FILM BY
MARIO VAN PEEBLES
Jesus take the wheel. Or should I say helm? Anyway, on with the show!
“There will always be war until we kill our own species.”
With writing like that, I’m shocked this wasn’t a shoe in for an Oscar Meyer hotdog. Alas, the graphics are horrendous! It looks like a computer game played on Windows 95. Already this plot is tough to follow, one minute NC is writing a letter to his wife (I assume), the next we’re following two young seaman on their romantic interludes (unfortunately isn’t not with each other). Then we switch to a Japanese submarine where of course all the lighting is red (EVIL!) and they’re sacrificing themselves when it doesn’t even seem necessary. New characters are introduced in practically every scene with “subtle” foreshadowing about sharks, specifically, their rows of sharp teeth and that humans are at the bottom of the food chain when swimming in the ocean.
Wait, is that Tom Sizemore? He’s actually looking pretty good (thank you Dr. Drew and Celebrity Rehab) and I’m glad to see he’s still making war movies...even if they star a melted candle in a wig (seriously though, what is going on with Nic Cage’s face?? His complexion looks gray).
One of the more flattering shots I could find.
And the glorious writing just keeps coming. “This isn’t a minstrel show..this is the UNITED STATES NAVY.” Another cutting line from a naval officer. Seaman are notorious for dicking around at minstrel shows.
Quick side note. I Googled “minstrel shows” and this was the first image that came up:
Apparently this form of entertainment originated in the 19th century and was performed by white people in black face. Later on, especially after the Civil War, these shows were performed by actual black people. Did Steve Bannon write this movie? Maybe NC Skat Cat’s gray bloat-face pays homage to the human trash pile who also served in the Navy:
Fun fact, you’ll find the picture on the left in the dictionary under “Melanoma”
Well, the Japanese torpedoes finally hit and the U.S.S Indianapolis melts into lackadaisical chaos. You might be thinking, “But Katie, doesn’t that phrase contradict itself?” You are correct, however, the actors in this movie make it an art form on par with Method Acting. It’s a delightful combination of screaming yet jogging, shrieking orders while lazily jumping off the ship. Is it time for the sharks to arrive?
Well, the ship is gone, the men are drifting in the water and I wish the sharks would hurry up so I don’t have to listen to this horrendous dialogue. I’ll be honest, I was zoning out until random people were pulled under. Oh, and Tom Sizemore’s character is begging for morphine...how appropriate. The best part of the water scenes is NC rowing his raft with a comically small ore as seen at the beginning of this delightfully dubbed clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MoXLSU_s84
This movie is abysmal. Each scene lasts a couple of minutes that either depict ridiculous shark attack scenes or late night confessionals by the survivors about their love lives or the afterlife.
“Do you think it’s luck who lives and who dies? “It was his time.”
Oh. Was it?
But in all seriousness, this event is considered the worst Naval disaster in our nation’s history where hundreds of men lost their lives in terrifying ways. They were stranded for four days in shark infested waters while their distress calls went unanswered. So, yeah...kind of a big deal and not surprisingly, this movie and the characters don’t do it justice...at all. I think the most fitting line of movie was spoken one of the rescuing soldier:
“This is a class A clusterfuck.”
Indeed. I need a pallet cleanser (or an enema for my eyes).
So the men are rescued and there’s still about 30 minutes left in the movie and what comes next feels like it should be a different film altogether. There’s a lot going on:
-One character, nicknamed ‘Bama’ (gross), marries his best friend’s pregnant girlfriend after he dies at sea.
-Some of the surviving soldiers get together to throw a party the night before the trial. “What trial?” you might ask...
-Nic-y kins is on trial for not “zig zagging as an evasive maneuver” and “failing to abandon ship in a timely manner” (wait what?) aka you weren’t prepared for a possible attack by the Japanese and didn’t react appropriately. Basically, the military fucked up big time and are trying to throw him under the bus. As you can see, our military likes to repeat history.
-OH SHIT! During the trial the United States Military calls the Captain from the Japanese submarine that attacked the USS Indianapolis. Slap in the face to Wig Master Cage. But I think he lied on the stand to help Cage...blooming friendship on the horizon?
-NOT GULTY...on one count but they found Cage guilty for not zig zagging. What is going on in this movie.
-Okay I’ll admit, there’s a scene between NC and the Japanese Captain about forgiveness that I actually kind of liked.
-I take that back because the movie ends with NC shooting himself in the head. WHY?!
-The most powerful part of this movie is the ending credits. Two veterans describe the experience of the shark attacks followed by actual footage of the rescue. So basically the parts that Mario van Peebles had nothing to do with.
I think it’s pretty clear how I feel about this movie. Two hours of actors bumbling on screen, desperately trying to recreate and pay homage to a tragic moment and failing miserably. I don’t recommend this movie to anyone, even if you’re under the influence of anything...weed, alcohol, paint thinner, etc. That said, I give this movie 1/5 Ragin’ Cageins.
But not everyone feels the same way. The following 9/10 star review is from scottwolf-26710 on IMBD:
I am wondering whether the people who posted bad reviews saw the same movie as I did, It was historically good , acting fair, story excellent CGI a little cheesy. But overall very entertaining. I studied this incident and knew an old sailor, who helped off load the bomb on Tinian. Maybe the movie didn't have enough sex and foul language for the people who gave it bad reviews.
You might be on to something old Scotty boy. I would have enjoyed “U.S.S Indianapolis” so much more if there was a budding love story throughout. Perhaps something like this:
After abandoning his ship, NC is brought to a raft by a shark who, unlike his brothers and sisters, doesn’t see humans as food. Rather, he feels a strong connection towards them...maybe even love?
NC is confused himself. He should hate the sharks, after all, they’re killing his men! But there’s something about that first shark, the one he believes saved him that night. Or was it just a dream? His mind tells him to remember his wife! But his heart keeps remembering those beautiful, black shark eyes.
Over the next four days, NC and the shark steal wanting glances and NC even hits the shark with his tiny ore to cover up his true feelings. NC knows they can never be and the shark understands that if he truly loves this melting wax figure, he should let him go back to his wife.
During one particularly lonely night, NC spots his savior in the water just below the raft. The shark swims quietly to the surface- he knows he shouldn’t be here but the connection is too strong. As the shark breaks the surface, NC simply says “It’s you.” With that, the two begin a passionate affair lasting until daybreak.
On the day of the rescue, the sea was extra salty with the lovers’ tears. As NC sails away, he looks back one last time and says a silent goodbye to the creature who saved his life but stole his heart. Just before the screen fades to black, he whispers, “In another life.”
El Fin
Potential movie poster?
With that dear readers, I end my review of this ghastly film. Stay tuned for the next post and if you have any requests, please submit in the comments.
Peace, love and wigs xo
