I've been recently doing something suprising and playing something other then Dragon Age- mainly Divinity Original Sin 2 and... okay am I crazy or the amount of dialogue options vary a lot. Like sometimes I get kinda varied RP choices and really get to think about how my character would approach it (especially in like persuade check situations the variety you get is crazy) and other times it's like... there are 2 options both say roughly the same and I like none of them- thinking specifically to the scene where you talk to others about being chosen by god and Sebille was like "we should be wary about their involvment" and I was like true, my character who repeatedly has shown her distrust of gods would feel the same and when I go to pick the dialogue options all of them seem to be really into the idea of being a chosen one.
#divinity original sin 2#I will say... I am loving the companions. Sort of mixed on my character though#Like people are going to say “what are you whining about in DA you always get like 3 options and they are all the same” and like... yeah#But at the same time- with Dragon Age protagonist it feels like there is a lot more context to them#And here it feels like I am supposed to create a character from ground up... until I'm suddenly railroded into them#Having a specific opinion or backstory element I was not previously privy to#It's not gamebreaking but it takes me out from my character a bit at times#I generally feel like DOS2 RP prioritizes gameplay variety and how flexible the game is when it comes to problem solving#Like it feels like there are so many ways to approach each quest and it's really fun#But I find the dialogues kinda lacking at times#It's interesting anyhow#Also don't take it as a “this game is bad” post I am really enjoying it so far it's just diffrent

Support women's rights to look dead!#I have been waiting for this scene for ages...the ghost girl entourage is such a good look for WWX.#And by gods does the audio drama actually do something interesting with one of them.#Namely that we actually get to see WWX talk with them and learn about who they were and what they left behind.#I love necromancer characters but it's way too common for them to be like “Go! Ghost no.145!” like they're a pokemon#and not...you know...someone who had a whole life that they left behind.#I love me a necromancer who has an awareness to whose soul/body they are using. It adds a lot of flavour!#MDZS is a little hit or miss with this. I think the fans do a lot of the work with making Mo Xuanyu a bigger character.#Yi City has this in spades. Even though we don't individually get character backstories#We get many painful reminders about how these 'corpses' were people.#We also get a few lines about how WWX used whatever corpses he could get his hands on (including grandparents - Woof!)#MDZS often (but not always) likes to remind us that every sacrifice and every ghost was a person.#It is so close to nailing the landing regarding the deconstruction of the necromancer character.#Anyhow. You may have noticed the uptick in quality in the last two comics. Rule of three means next one is going to be a treat B*)#See you all very soon!

#john lennon#the beatles#nihon#the smiley tortoise and the rabbit <3#I love that it's clear at least some of these aren't textbook standards and are clearly things he asked how to say (like steel and glass)#the days of the week are the only kanji attempts in the entire book#(and there's no hiragana or katakana at all)#when of course as an artist he sure can do a little picture of a moon or a tree!#but I think in the 70s it was much more common to teach romaji first whereas now usually it's considered best to start with hiragana#(and he may have very well not been particularly interested in writing anyhow if he was primarily concerned with basic communication#and not understanding the servants etc - and writing is so difficult too!)#anyway thought this was kind of interesting and cool

#--/ art#--/ story#ava the dark lord#⬇⬇⬇ context in the tags ⬇⬇⬇#alan becker#animator vs animation#animation vs minecraft#ava the chosen one#it is done !! ok ill give y'all the intro context synopsis now#the story goes that way way way way before Showdown cho and dark used to sneak into abandoned-looking buildings in the city at night#and one such target they stumble upon happens to be a storage room containing artifacts from Minecraft#the most interesting being the beds.#on this particular outing cho and dark were returning from other shenanigans and could use a place to rest. perfect!#dark belly-flops onto the right bed (scooting them out of alignment) and strikes a pose.#while chosen is shoving them back together again... oh. he's already asleep? ...???#!!! the beds draw you in if you get too close!#so what was supposed to be half an hour at most rest turned into the whole night. they skedaddled and forgot about the freaky beds.#until. a certain someone goes and dies :333#you get it now ! ! !#it was dark diesn't ALL ALONG-#yeah and then for extra spice i threw in that the hooded stick King meets with during his episode to buy a command block...#...happens to own that storage room.#thus and so begins more brand new shenanigans with dark interacting with this shady rando. i call em seafoam#i highly extremely doubt there's a tag for seafoam . . . wiki calls them only 'hooded stick figure'#anyhow. behind the scenes this was also a practice of drawing things in 3D... keeping on model... and composition for storytelling#and i learned some things about how Whiteboard works too :o i. didn't know about the fill tool. it is cool#yayaya!! so that's been in my head for a while.#thx for reading <3 <3 ill be posting some close-up shots of this and other things i put on the whiteboard later#Minecraft bed

reference: gale & scars
ea gale had quite a few more scars than the final iteration of gale we have in the game now (click to view a bigger version):
-three smaller ones across his forehead, one of those three near his temple -another smaller one on his jaw, near his right ear -a larger one on the left side of his neck, still looking quite red in colour
flycamming a bit more made me realise that they didn't only keep one of the scars on his forehead:
but they also did keep the large one on his neck as well, although it's much less obvious now:
it's not as red and painful looking as it was in ea, but the texture of it is still undeniably there.
i've wondered since ea how he got it. one of the lines that you get from gale if he's taken by orin could be a hint or a possibility - even though, of course, it may be entirely unrelated:
Gale: I’ve been threatened with the sharp end of a dagger before, but never with such a monster as Orin holding the blade.

#ask#non mdzs#My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl#So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume#but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice#and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. i fee like the first story of seasons had so much potential and definitely deserves a remake... the fact they gave us iris, mistel, raeger and licorice but NOT a gay marriage option is a crime. also nadi is my favorite bokumono/hm/sos spouse EVERRR but I cannot with the weird laggy 3D graphic stage... please come back 😭
