Fun Fact: The original title of the sub story is “バカルテット (bakarutetto)”, with the words for “idiot (baka)” and “quartet”. 

Hanafuda (花札): Japanese playing cards (lit. flower cards) used for a variety of card games. 

Oicho-Kabu (おいちょかぶ): This is a traditional Japanese card game similar to the French card game Baccarat, as mentioned in the story.

Hinata: Ah, no fair! Oogami-senpai, you’re making your “own rules” again!

Kouga: Shaddup~ it doesn’t matter as long as I win! Look, my “Demon Wolf of Purgatory” has completely slaughtered your creature! It’s my win~

Hinata: No fair~! That’s not fair! Only cowards can be happy after winning like that~ You’re a disgrace to all samurai ~de gozaru!

Yuuta: Since when did you become a samurai? Don’t make such a fuss -- I can’t believe you’re getting all serious on a kid’s game~

This is a card game arranged in a Japanese style with a hundred years of tradition; its origins lie in the land of my admiration, England...☆

The gentleman of all games who was born in London, the town of mist where Jack the Ripper wandered around! This is “way more” stimulatin’ than chess or cards!

Yuuta: Please don’t call me the “other twin”~, Oogami-senpai. You still can’t tell the difference between us?

Hinata: A hundred years of history sounds pretty shady -- this is something elementary kids play, right? I’ve lost interest, this is boring! It’s no fun when you’re losing!

Kouga: Say what? I even spent time tryin’ to teach you the rules!

Just tag along to my trainin’, ya bastard. I’ve left my instrument at the music shop for maintenance, so I’ve got time to spare!

Hinata: Even if you call it training, what’s the point of improving your skills for a card game? Isn’t it completely unrelated to being an idol?

Yuuta: That redhead first year is Suou-kun in my class, right? He does pretty well academically, you know~ He's probably the top student in our year?

Rei: Geez, what is all this...? It’s been rather noisy for a while now, I can barely fall asleep.

Yuuta: Ah, good morning, Sakuma-senpai ♪

Hinata: It’s night already, though~ It looks like we were too focused on the card game and quite a lot of time has passed. Ahh~ my eyes are “bleary”.

Yuuta: I’ve got eye drops, Aniki. 

Hinata: Thanks, Yuuta-kun. Why’s the club room so dark...?

My eyes are tired after reading the explanations for the card game (flavour text)~!

Rei: Ohh, it seems you were playing a fun game. Allow me to partake as well; playing with you all makes me feel as though I’m young again...♪

Kouga: Hey~! Don’t you dare touch my cards with your dirty hands! Ya vampire bastard~ Your putrid smell will dirty my cards!

Rei: I’m not moulding, how rude... Although I have been damp because of the continuous rain.

I have a dehumidifier set up inside the coffin, therefore I am quite unconcerned, you see.

Kouga: Since there are different appliances in that coffin, I’ve got no idea if it’s old or new! Dammit, this is pissin’ me off!

Rei: Don’t get so agitated, Doggy. Perhaps you’re irritated due to the long, continuous rain. I’ll take you on a walk later, so you best be a good boy now.

*Yawn...* I’d like to do a brain exercise to shake off my sleepiness. Let’s see, I shall be your opponent for this so-called “card game” ♪

Kouga: Huuh? You’ve got guts -- card games are my home ground!

I’ll make you regret carelessly steppin’ inside my territory...!

Although for an elderly person such as myself, I don’t quite understand these sorts of complicated games as of late, you see~

Kouga: Is that coffin connected to the fourth dimension or somethin’... It’s irritatin’ me ‘cause it’s so confusin’!

Rei: Doggy. I’ve got the “perfect” game for you. I’ll teach you the basics -- come over here as well, Aoi brothers ♪

Kouga: Huuh? “Perfect” for me, you say...?

Rei: Indeed. Then, we’ll play as I explain the rules ♪

This card game is similar to one which was played in ancient Japan, “Oicho-kabu”[3]...♪

Kouga: Hey~ I know that! It’s similar to “Baccarat”, right? You chose it based on the name, didn’t you!?

Perfect for me? As if -- you’re just callin’ me stupid, dammit! I’m gonna kill ya~!

Rei: Aren’t you hasty, Doggy. Good, good. I don’t particularly dislike a scuffle; let’s get suited up with a light workout before the brain exercise~♪
