okay so my dadluc post inspired a part of me I didn't know existed so now I'm writing scenarios for this future time and like I am hitting the waterworks hard, let me put in snippet of what I just wrote cause it's Kaeya and Diluc bonding

Diluc having more than one kid, the first kid was named something to be with his family line and the second kid he asks Kaeya if there are any names he would like the second to be named. (With the permission of his spouse of course)

Diluc: Hey Kae, remember when you mentioned my kid looked lonely

Kaeya: yeah, what about it?

Diluc: Well, I just found out we're having another. So the little one won't be lonely anymore

Kaeya: Congrats. Any ideas on what to name them?

Diluc: well, the first one I named after my grandfather, remember?

Kaeya: hm, so you're gonna choose your grandmother next?

Diluc: No..Well, I wanted to ask. Since my first born was a family name I wanted to ask. Are there any names you would like for the second born?

Kaeya: Oh, you're bestowing the honor onto me to name them? Won't your spouse get mad at that

Diluc: No, I talked to them and they even encouraged I ask you

Kaeya: Aw, I'm touched that you think so highly of me

Diluc: hm, well if you try to say anything stupid I may still veto it

Kaeya: oh you wound me, I would never waste such an honor like this, hmm, let me think

Diluc: Take your time, wouldn't want steam to leave your ears when thinking too hard

Kaeya: *gasp* now you're just being mean

Diluc: who ever said I was being nice

Kaeya: haha, careful there I'll tell on you

Diluc: *chuckles* Now who would you tell?

Kaeya: mm, how about your spouse? They would surely scold you, or maybe Adelinde would scold you harsher?

Diluc: really now? You'd tell them?

Kaeya: mhm, but maybe I'd let you get off easy and just tell my favorite nephew. He'd make his daddy apologize for being a big meany. *Laughing*

Diluc: *laughing as well* oh really now. I think that boy indulges your antics too much as it is

Kaeya: Then I think you're raising him right. He's just like his father.

Diluc: Now you're giving me too much credit

Kaeya: You're right, he gets a lot of his personality from your spouse. No way that bright smile comes from your grumpy face

Diluc: Oh? I have a grumpy face now?

Kaeya: Well maybe not so much anymore, that spouse of yours did bring a new light to your life

Diluc: Don't forget you being here as well

Kaeya: *grinning* of course, where would you be without your kind and charming younger brother to make you more appealing and helping you with all your romantic endeavors

Diluc: *laughing* okay i take that back.

Kaeya: hey no take backsies

Diluc: Alright, Alright..Have you thought of a name yet?

Kaeya: hmm, I'm thinking if they're a boy then maybe Nabbi, of they're a girl maybe Khanlindi. Though they might be a bit odd of names for a Ragnvindr to have.

Diluc: They're not weird..Why those names?

Kaeya: Nabbi, he was a cousin of mine and Khanlindi, well she was like an older sister I suppose.

Diluc: You had a sister?

Kaeya: Yeah, she was a lot older than me. Nothing like how close to you are in age to me.

Diluc: Do you miss her?

Kaeya: I miss everyone from my home, but if you mean their memory hurts..Well sort of, but not as bad now.

Diluc: Would we be able to find them?

Kaeya: It would be impossible, they would be either claimed by the curse or the abyss by now. They would not be the people I knew when I was a child. They are gone.

Diluc: Have you ever said goodbye to them?

Kaeya: No, as a child I couldn't hold my own funeral rites for them. It was impossible between the needs for it and hiding my identity.

Diluc: Well could hold one for them now?

Kaeya: *somber smile* I would like that very much..thank you Diluc.

I think Kaeya was simply born and raised in Khaenri'ah but his mother was born and raised in Sumeru and most likely passed away few years before he was abandoned by his sire. If caribert's story is in some way ment to be a parallel to Kaeya's one then this seems to be most likely to me.

Why someone from the seven would voluntarily live in a cave nation..., maybe she sinned? During cyno's story quest, when you enter the restricted repository, you can interact with three items, one that references tighnari's story quest, one that is relevant for cyno's story quest and one which isn't a reference to a quest at all (atleast I think so) except reminding us of one of the sins of the akademiya:

Just some far-fetched headcanon, that maybe his mother was the haravatat researcher in question. Because I doubt that as cosmopolitan Khaenri'ah is or was regarding hating the gods, I don't think they would have given asyl to anyone from the seven that asks nicely unless they have some use.

And the abyss order is known to steal books and scripts and it seems like they have only recently begun to rally hilichurls to fight.

Kaeya's mom being from Sumeru seems to be the popular theory as well! And the idea of a Sumeru mother sounds so interesting to me! Smart, strategic, and elegant comes to mind (I really want Kaeya to take after his mother in those aspects). My favorite idea involving this theory is from an absolutely amazing fanfic by @leeryder called "Once Upon an Eclipse" (which I highly recommend for reading btw!! I greatly advertise it!) I will not spoil the fanfic beyond the mention of Kaeya's mother being from Sumeru hehe

I hope that someday we would learn more about mama Alberich. The idea that she may be the Haravatat scholar who was imprisoned sounds like an interesting story. Had she done it in the name of love or her own curiosity? It definitely cost her a safe future... but I'd like to imagine that she would have found it worth it.

Similar to the real world, I also like to think that some people (disclaimer: not all people!! Just many) who prefer the academic lifestyle would lead a life of atheism/agnosticism, so it isn't farfetched that the Khaenri'ahn ideals would affect Sumeru and vice versa (especially with a literal gate to Khaenri'ah being located in Sumeru)

I have had several ideas as well where (just to keep the king/prince kaeya theory) she is actually the daughter of King Irmin who married an Alberich, and the Alberich line gained a noble status thru that (regents until the prince is of age kind of deal). I like to think the Alberich line was initially a military family until the princess fell in love with one of their war generals

I still have that one crack theory where the Tsaritsa is his mother as well lmao. Blame the Pierro x Tsaritsa brainrot where they are long time lovers and Tsaritsa was devastated to see her lover's nation get ruined (because she loved that nation too)

Another is how curiously the Spantamad logo is a peacock. Alchemy and a peacock? Khaenri'ah and Kaeya?? Curious. What if it was started thru Kaeya's mother? A Sumerian who introduced another darshan to her nation? She could have gotten curious and fell in love papa Alberich while she studied alchemy.

So many ideas! Hyv please give us mama alberich crumbs! (add in Diluc's maybe witch mom as well)

Chapter 16:Snow

“ꅏꍩꁲꋖ ꂑꌚ ꋖꍩꁲꋖ?!“ Kaeya gasped behind him.

Diluc turned.

The blue haired boy was gaping and pointing outside. Diluc tensed. He stepped in front of his brother, his Claymore appearing in his hand as he scanned the horizon for whatever had caught his brother’s attention.
