Idea for an animated kid's movie/comedy.
So there's this dinosaur park that's a thinly veiled Jurassic Park knock-off (call it Cretaceous Island), and it's a bit of a toy story situation, in that the dinosaurs can talk and communicate when the humans aren't looking, mostly at night.
The dinos don't really want to break out since they like their cushy zoo lives and five-star treatment from the staff, so they're willing to get oggled by a bunch of twelve year olds to keep the food coming.
Out main characters are a T-Rex, two raptor sisters, and a wise old triceratops. The raptors are bored with their lives and long for adventure, the triceratops is a wise-old mentor figure, and the T-Rex is lonely since the park won't engineer any other T-Rex's for safety reasons.
Through magical shenanigans they get sent back to the actual Cretaceous period.
Now these pampered genetically engineered dinos have to survive in the savage dinosaur era. To underscore the differences between them, the future dinos are animated as pretty standard cartoon dinosaurs, a la Land Before Time, while the dinosaurs from the past are animated to be as scientifically accurate as possible.
The dinos go through shenanigans, amke friends in the past, evade predators, and eventually make their way home through magic portal stuff, except for the T-Rex who elects to stay behind since he's fallen for a female T-Rex he met in the past. His friends are sad to leave him behind, but go to the present anyway.
Back in the present, the dinos think nothing has really changed, but they find that the exhibit in the visitor's center, previously a single roaring T-Rex skeleton, has been replaced with two T-Rex's, famous for being found fossilized together called "The Deadly Lovers", and its their friend and the mate he found in the past. It ends on the bittersweet note.

I love Vulcans we need to get more into the emotional lives of Vulcans without imposing Human standards onto them. "The way you feel is wrong/repressive because it's not the way it's "supposed" to be from my perspective as an alien called Human" is boring to me especially when it's treated as correct. I wanna know how the aliens feel about their alien way of life. Vulcans are so interesting to me when written AS aliens and not as analogous to repressed Humans. I think about Tuvok's description of attachment to his family and how that isn't the emotion 'love' but something else, something that he feels no shame about having and sees as normal, as naturally Vulcan and I love it and I love it because there aren't any Humans there to go "Um actually checkmate you Vulcan s.o.b - that's emotion!" and he isn't being influenced by anything. These are his authentic thoughts. He sees his children, his family, as part of him. They were at times illogical, incomprehensible, and it was extremely rewarding to be in their lives. He thinks about them every day. They were well behaved. As teens they were contemptuous of authority and convinced of their own superiority. His youngest son loved one 200 verse story so he sang it to him. He'd rather die than betray his wife even in spirit. He's incomplete without them. It's obvious through Tuvok that Vulcan life is not inherently devoid of pleasure, comfort, or love and thus Human life (I think) should not be portrayed as inherently having something greater, deeper, more meaningful. I'm not talking here of society but of...emotional life. Interiority. There's this sense that all Vulcans are the same and miserable for it. That they hold themselves back and are indistinguishable and antagonistic to the self, repressed and wrong. That to be Vulcan is to suffer endlessly and Humans are all about Freedom Man and I don't know, I like that Tuvok's existence sort of challenges this as much as I acknowledge that Vulcan society is in fact repressive and unwelcoming to those who don't fit neatly into it. I'm not saying Vulcan society is a utopia, I'm questioning the perception of Vulcan emotional control - that way of life - as being inherently bad, devoid, or lacking. That Vulcans walk around with 'empty cups' and are only deluding themselves that to be that way is good. If only, Humanity moans, they could taste how delicious life could be! Tuvok is an average Vulcan. He does not struggle with emotion, he is not mixed species, he was not raised atypically, and yet he has a family he cares about and a wife he's loyal to and friends he values and none of these things seem to be Un-Vulcan to him. If Vulcan life was truly devoid of love and care, Tuvok wouldn't think of his family. They're not here, so why bother? When his pon farr came, he'd be trying to find the most compatible mate rather than risking his life by trying to meditate through it out of loyalty to T'Pel. T'Pel would also have just given Tuvok up for dead instead of waiting and his children wouldn't have traveled all the way to the most holy temple on the planet to say prayers for his safe return. I think these things are interesting and I wish they'd been explored more. The fact that caring about your family, caring about your friends, is not Un-Vulcan. The fact that Tuvok at no point longs for Humanity, sees nothing better or of interest to him in it. (Even in his teenage rebellion he only says he's sorry he was born Vulcan which reads less as Vulcan v Human and more like 'I hate this goddamn family' ykwim?). I want to know more about how Vulcans interact with each other, how they care for one another, what it means and what it's like to be Vulcan in more of an everyday way rather than what it means to be Vulcan vs Human.
#Vulcan emotional control WOULD be bad for Humans. But they're aliens. So.#I wrote this off the cuff v_v sorry if it just rambles in circles#I just don't like when Vulcans are written to be 'like us but missing out on something beautiful'#I think of people who don't live anything close to my life's experience. Are they lacking in something? Are they not living a 'full' life?#I'm not neurotypical - am I missing something essential to living a 'real' life because of that?#some people don't experience empathy - are they lesser because of it? No#I love my fellow man I guess. I think maybe in the far far future I'd hope that being just like me [human = neurotypical white american]#isn't a prerequisite for friendship and love and maybe we can just have harmless and beautiful differences#I wonder what's so good - INHERENTLY good about having emotion. What does it mean to be good? What does it mean to live 'fully'? As a Human#As an Alien? What does it means to have a life? Be alive? What's love and why is it important? What do these concepts mean to an Alien?#In Star Trek Voyager Ayala's son and Tuvok's son both pray for their father to come back home - is the Vulcan prayer lesser?#All this to say that I /AM/ going to make my own no-emotions aliens to put in star filled oyster - you just know I'm going to do that#there was no other option for me it was written in stone from oyestar's conception and I hope you'll all read the story#I eventually write with them even though you'll no doubt raise your brow and look me in the eye and go 'oh big surprise the Vulcan guy wrot#this. Oh hey look everyone the autistic Vulcan guy is musing about emotions what a surprise' and I'll be tugging at my shirt collar#like a cartoon character and gulping comedically and sweating bullets#Literally as I wrote that last sentence I realized I'm dissociating I'm going to go eat ice

okay this is an extremely long shot but you never know. i want to look up a story from the donald duck comics. it was a mickey mouse centered story, and i'm pretty sure the artist was either rodriguez or ferioli. the story is about stories and fairytales coming to life and destroying the city - the giant from jack and the beanstalk, midas' curse, and i think the gingerbread cottage were all there. it turns out it was all happening because a boy with a magic book was throwing a tantrum. the muse calliope is there

Ok so Dagna vs. Lace Thoughts
This is kind of split into two ideas: one for why Lace works better and one for why I think Dagna’s role in the world doesn’t match with the reconnection to the Titans storyline
First, Lace’s role in the story is primarily Inquisition Scout. The reconnection to the Titans and magic storyline is her character development and helps her stand as an individual, but in the broader narrative her role as a former Inquisition member and scout is her major contribution.
We can make this even more granular by separating it into its two components: Inquisition and Scout.
Her role as former Inquisition is key to connecting us to the previous game. With Varric being…let’s say indiposed, we need a character who can serve as our contact for the Inquisitor and the past characters. While Dagna could theoretically serve this purpose, since she WAS in the Inquisition, she wouldn’t be as strong a figure to represent the Inquisition because she wasn’t there from the beginning and ALSO because her major identity is Arcanist. She just HAPPENED to serve in the Inquisition, but she’s not the Inquisition Arcanist. Lace, on the other hand, is the face of the average person in the Inquisition and being lead scout FOR the Inquisition specifically is a major part of her identity.
Now the second half of this, Scout, is also key here because it’s the core of Lace’s skills and also personality. She’s the explorer, the navigator, the social front. She carves paths for others to follow. This both serves in terms of being our point of introduction for a lot of our faction contacts, but also in a deeper narrative function as she’s the one to carve the path for the dwarves to reconnect to the Titans.
Second, Dagna’s themes and narrative I don’t think mesh well with the way that they took the Titan storyline. Dagna left Orzammar, leaving behind Dwarven society and heritage in order to study magic. For her to be the one to reconnect to the core of Dwarven heritage with the Titans feels dissonant with her themes of rebellion and exploration. She’s a forward-facing character. I DO think it would be cool and interesting for her to be able to access the Fade and magic, but I don’t think the second layer of reckoning with heritage and the past fits with her cutting-edge, boundary-pushing themes.
And bonus thought, this is just my personal opinion, but I think Dagna serves a very important function in the overall world of Thedas. Dagna is an example of how to navigate magical spaces in the world without having access to magic. Especially in southern Thedas, the world is VERY segregated between magical and nonmagical spaces. The nonmagical are taught to fear the magical and it limits a lot of understanding of how the world works. Dagna not having magic but learning how it works and how to utilize it as someone nonmagical is actually incredibly important— she bridges the ideological gap and also helps expand the knowledge base of the world. In one sense, I think giving her magic to be able to expand her studies is interesting and cool! But on the other hand, thematically I think giving her magic erodes her most important function within Dragon Age lore— proof that there can be shared knowledge and understanding between the magical and nonmagical, which is a fundamental necessity in undoing the harm that the Chantry and Templars have done.

zoro showers more than once a week and here’s why :
1) nami is on board. there’s absolutely no shot that she would let that slide for either him or luffy. she will comment on it, demand they shower, and they’ll listen.
2) zoro treats his body as a weapon, getting stronger every day to become a better, a more disciplined fighter. we see how he treats his actual weapons and the amount of care he puts into maintaining them. on some level that would translate to himself.
3) mihawk wouldn’t let zoro into his home if he didn’t clean himself up. perona would never stop talking about it too. for zoro’s sanity, he will clean himself up to avoid any more nonstop complaining.
