sofia realizing she is not immune to the misogynistic violence her father subjected her mother and many other women to and the sad thing is she still doesn’t realize this until the end of the show.

she tries to play by the men’s rules once she gets out and takes over but even then she’s still disrespected and a victim of the same misogynistic violence that led to her forced institutionalization
