I’m glad that he’s finally getting some repercussions for his plagiarism and generally shit behavior, but I cannot help but be a tad bitter that people have been calling James Somerton out for plagiarizing for like, YEARS only to be dismissed and called “straight white girls” — which, beyond the misogyny involved in dismissing someone for being a woman, shouldn’t even be a matter of contention when there’s hard evidence that he stole from others.
Like. People were shooting the messenger for years without even LOOKING at the message. And all it took was someone to actually read the message aloud to have people actually listen.

I think the reason I like buddie so much is that they already are a family
You can see their love growing during all the seasons, no matter if you see it as platonic or romantic you can’t deny that they already LOVE each-other
I started to watch 9-1-1 when s7 was out and Buck was officially Bi (it’s what convinced me to start watching, my friend had been a fan for a very long time and this was the final argument for me to watch xD)
So I started the serie knowing he was currently with Tommy, knowing there was nothing (canonically) romantic between Eddie and him, but still, I could see the love between them, the way Buck became family to Chris and Eddie, the way Eddie’s Home is also Buck’s Home
There’s so many little clues, little things between them all the time !!
No matter how ADORABLE I find Buck and Tommy, Buddie will stay my n°1
I just love a good best friend to lover trope <3
Especially with the whole co-parenting stuff, they’re just the most adorable family ever 🥹
So yeah, I like Bucktommy (a lot !!!) but I still do hope Buck and Eddie will get together 🫶
And that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy Buck current relationship, I enjoyed the cute moment between him and Taylor, I’m currently REALLY enjoying him and Tommy, they’re both so great for each-other
But here ? On Tumblr out of all place, I’m supposed to pick a side ? I can’t enjoy bucktommy without seeing buddie hate and vice versa
It’s getting frustrating 🥲
Hope I can find my people, the ones who don’t judge and that like both 😔 ! (Or like one and tolerate the other without hating)

man idk. I don’t really care if my art does numbers or not but I’m lucky if I get one to three reblogs these days on my art here. On Bluesky the fandom is small but people are way more supportive. Tumblr users have forgotten how much reblogging supports artists and writers I think :(

Sometimes, the hypocrisy these fandoms makes me want to crack my skull open and use my brain like a stress ball.
Why are the adults infantilized and their crimes are brushed off, but when the child/kid-ish character even gets upset they are irredeemable.

I think the worst part of scoring right now is not just the focus on difficult elements… but really the conflation of GOE and PCS that comes with just doing them.
This has been a problem for so many years in which the judging system does not allow a skater who is excellent at jumping to grow into their artistry at all. If we reward these skaters for lackluster performances just for doing crazy elements, then they have nowhere to go in the coming seasons. There’s no motivation to change what they’re doing because they are already getting the scores they need to win. Why would someone choose to work harder on their program component scores if they’re not guaranteed that doing so will help them. Especially when you’ve had jumpers who take the time to improve their artistry and ended up losing consistency with their jumps
It’s just ridiculous to me that in the state of scoring across devisions that GOE is only applied to how nice the element looks rather than to the actual rules. And that things like entries, exists, cheated takeoffs, and landings don’t really matter.
And if the judges continue to score this way, we will keep seeing (like we already have) a younger generation who chooses to focus on the harder elements rather than the entire program. There’s been so much evidence to the burnout you quickly get if you are young and throw your body away to focus on difficult elements (look at Eteri’s rapidly changing lineup), and a sport that focuses on what accomplishments can be achieved rather than on the skaters themselves is one that will not be able to sustain.

It seems Tumblr’s decided to eat my latest post. I had it queued to post yesterday, and now it’s . . . nowhere.
Posting this in the vague hope that it, idk, shakes something loose in Tumblr’s code and makes my post appear so I don’t have to re-do it. 🤷‍♀️
Edit just in case anyone else having this problem somehow finds this post: The post randomly got sent to my mass post editor. I had to select “make post private” in order to be able to open it up, but from there I was able to copy the text and paste it into a new post. Thanks to @nonsensical-pixels for pointing me in the right direction.

I think what OSA people in fandom don’t understand, is that homosexuals rarely see ourselves on screen.
We go into any show or movie, and we can be sure that there probably won’t be any homosexuals. If there is, they’re the butt of the joke, or they’re written for a straight audience to fetishise. If that’s not the case, there’s still the possibility that the homosexual character will be poorly written. Or that they’ll be killed off. Or that sure, they’re gay and alive, but they won’t be getting a romance plot while all the OSA characters get one.
I don’t think OSA people know how alienating that is. To be surrounded by romance plots that feel foreign to you, to be desperately seeking out gay stories just to get a taste of representation, but you can only find a couple in genres you like, so you watch them over and over again while OSA people have already watched 5 things in their chosen genre that have OSA people in it.
Things are thankfully getting better. We’re getting stories that revolve around gay people and same sex love.
But then OSA people in fandom insist on inserting OSA into these stories anyways. Because apparently the insane amount of OSA stories wasn’t enough…you want the little bit that we have, too.
And it is so frustrating to finally have characters who either show no signs of being interested in the opposite sex or actively reject the idea of being interested in the opposite sex…only to have OSA people insist that actually it would be super cool if these characters were OSA.
It feels so dismissive of homosexuals. To look at us rejoicing at seeing the absence of OSA (which is obviously a large part of the gay experience) being represented…and then saying “yeah but here’s why I think you’re wrong”.
It also tends to feel very homophobic, considering there’s almost always this underlying implication that exclusive same sex attraction is wrong in some way. Questions like “if your partner was the opposite sex, wouldn’t you still love them?” And “why would you limit yourself to just one sex?” That ultimately serve to guilt gay people into feeling as though our sexuality is somehow discriminatory or limiting. The whole idea of “my sexuality is you”, where there’s a moral value placed on a character loving another character regardless of their sex, which implies that bisexuality is the only moral sexuality. And so much more, where it all comes down to OSA holding unfavourable views towards homosexuality one way or another.
So it does get very annoying to constantly see OSA people refuse to accept that a character is gay. Because don’t you have enough? Can’t we just have a few characters that are like us?
But like I already said, I don’t think OSA people understand what it’s like to hardly ever see your sexuality represented. They’ve gotten so used to seeing OSA absolutely everywhere, that it’s shocking to see it’s absence. And they’re so used to being represented, that they can’t stand not being included for once.
So I just ask OSA people; instead of squeezing your way in and insisting that characters who show no signs of OSA or actively reject it must for some reason be OSA…just let the characters be gay. Let gay people see ourselves in a handful of characters without trying to take that away from us.
Ultimately people will have their headcanons, and that’s fine. I just wish more people would ask themselves why they feel such a strong desire to push OSA onto characters that don’t seem to experience it, and to insert OSA into stories that are unique in not including it.

Hey, not to be a salty bitch on main, but can people not comment on my fics saying “I want more” or “you should write *insert thing here* next.”
Maybe they’re trying to be nice and don’t mean anything by it, but you realize I’m writing these for fun and for free, right?
Don’t get me wrong, sometimes when I’m in the right mood or particularly attached to a fic, I’ll say that I’m open to ideas and if something inspires me I’ll write something for it. But I don’t always feel like that. Most of the time, I have an idea for something, I write it and it’s done.
I usually don’t mind comments like “omg this is so good, I wish there was more,” because yeah, my fics tend to be pretty short so I get it and at least they’re nice about it. But please don’t come to my fics and demand me to do stuff for you, especially if you’re not even going to take the time to leave a thoughtful response about what you liked about the fic in the first place.

People who complain about it being unrealistic for a character to be fat are WEAK. I don’t engage much with fandoms these days, and seeing fat OC’s is common enough, but headcanons about characters being fat always feel scrutinised, like it’s somehow impossible for them to be fat. I had a convo about headcanoning Chell as fat but malnourished just to appease the other person, and they still got upset about that, like… my guy, fat people can be athletic and acrobatic, and I’m dumbing it down for you, and you’re still upset.
It’s one thing to have a lack of fat rep in things, but it’s wild how upset people get about just the idea of a character being fat. Remember when there used to be arguments about Mei from OW being fat or not? Even the devs seem conflicted about it, like is it so awful for them to have a fat body.
Even from a game dev perspective, most of the arguments I see is that fat bodies are hard to animate or “make visually attractive”, and that’s a pathetic excuse. I can get it when you have dynamic character customisation and not pre-modelled bodies, take Sims for example, fat Sims are just wide but don’t always fit what fat bodies can look like. Even then it’s kind of a weak excuse, customising body parts and swapping them out with more fitting meshes shouldn’t be so complicated, the work involved for a system like that could take a long time, but it’s not impossible.
Idk, there’s just so many excuses for why fat people can’t get the rep we deserve, and none of it is satisfying when it doesn’t feel like they even want to try.

Has anyone else run into a weird thing on Tumblr where you’re suddenly following random blogs? I was just scrolling through my dash and came across a post by someone I have never heard of, they weren’t familiar at all. But I went to their blog and there it was, I was following them. This has happened before but not in a while. I’ve looked it up but it doesn’t seem like anyone else has experienced this.

one thing that pisses me off about the pacing of the show and this episode specifically, is that the main couples all make significant strides in their development, as do characters like ray and boston, and top has continuously proven himself to become a different, arguably better version of himself, while it seems like the narrative has stopped for mew when he found out that top cheated on him. there has been very little character growth, he’s still keeping top at arm’s length, well, a little less than that as of now but for the most part, the pieces aren’t really moving for him.
which is a shame, because mew was introduced to us as the focal point of the main characters and as someone who went through a genuinely interesting twist, but now that’s all there is to him. he’s the guy who got cheated on and is still pissed about it. he makes top jump through hoops for him and wants to mess him up, when top has shown that he cares for mew and for his well-being, for his family, that he genuinely loves him. mew is petty and calculating, but he is also in love with top. he’s said so himself this episode. why can’t the writing reflect that? it’s like top and mew are in two totally different points in their relationship and that would have worked maybe two episodes ago, but not with only two episodes left.
it’s annoying. topmew are such a good couple (and i do not understand anyone who thinks they don’t have any chemistry? forcebook have plenty of chemistry, but no one wants to admit that, lol) and their conflict was set up as super interesting, their characters playing against their predisposed archetypes is actually simple but insanely effective. but now, it feels like they are being forcefully halted for… some inane reason. as if they aren’t literally main characters. sure, yeah, topmew has the smallest audience but why does the writing of the show have to suffer for that? they deserve as much development as the rest of the characters and main relationships. it’s just sad to see the state of it as it is right now. we could’ve gotten away with this around episode 7; not episode 10.

I just really wish I would pass at least like half the time, I know I’m noticeably changing bc every time I see a friend I haven’t seen since before T they comment on my voice and mustache, but it’s obviously not enough bc I’m constantly getting called “miss” and “ma’am” and she/her by strangers, or even students and TA in the lab I help with who I told my pronouns on the first day
What do you think it’ll take? Full on facial hair? Voice training? Top surgery? (I know binding doesn’t work) dressing like a boring cishet man? 💀 definitely not doing that last one lmao

It annoys me that yandere dev’s volunteers opted out now. Not when he was/is a literal shit to everyone. I know they are not to blame, but it seems like they only backed out because it would be awful for their reputation if they didn’t.

Ok last post before I sleep, I’m generally finding this course to be interesting - it’s looking at global politics through a feminist lens, and while each topic really deserves its own course, it’s been ok. But it’s so clear how vilified radical feminism is, in the Introduction to Feminism week there was one mention of radical feminism, only in relation to the split between gender critical feminists and TRAs. There was no mention of radical feminism in the slides about feminist history, and no mention of any feminist thinkers who explicitly identified as radical feminists. The slide listing types of feminism had “Islamic feminism” but no radical feminism. It just makes me sad, honestly.
