This is gonna sound silly but I used to be very nervous about giving presentations or just public speaking in general but I've managed to pretty much completely eradicate that anxiety by just imagining that I am holding these people hostage and they have no choice but to listen to whatever bullshit I'm saying for the next 15 minutes or so

Really like how Ford and Stan are identical twins but life made them different. Stan got fatter but also stronger, Ford is more fit but more agile. Stan seems older because well, life was hard on him, Ford looks younger because he never really stopped running in thirty years, never took the time to age, if that makes sense.

But, when they have to save the world, they become identical again. They switch their clothes and it works! It works like when they were children.

You could imagine an AU when the twins had similar lives (if they both fell into the portal, if Stan and Ford were both kicked out of their house) and aged more alike than in canon.

a moment that stuck out to me while rewatching the pilot was tk's reaction when they're visiting the firehouse for the first time, the way he tells owen to call and tell the deputy chief he's changed his mind, they don't belong there. he sees the memorial and the flowers and the way the firehouse is exactly as it was the day that last call came in, and he's immediately horrified at the idea of himself and owen intruding on this grieving process. recognizing that they were invited to austin by higher-ups who have no idea what the loved ones of these men are going through, who now have to be okay with total strangers coming in and making assumptions and thinking they know best how to move forward.

i feel like this is such a good distillation of tk's character, his instinctual selflessness, the way he so easily puts himself in the shoes of others (even people he's never met) and tries to understand from their perspectives. he knows he and his dad have the best intentions but these people may see them as assholes, and that's important to focus on, the impact it could have. it's a brief moment that demonstrates just how deeply tk cares, how aware he is of the priority being helping people. treading lightly, not adding to their pain while they're already grieving, caring for them by making them feel heard, no matter how that looks.

I think the weirdest decision in the Sonic movies, and weirdly the very same thing that makes the Sonic movies work, was the decision to give Sonic a Dad™️ (and a Mom™️, but let’s face it, the moral lessons come largely from Tom.)

Like, the movies gave Sonic the one thing we never knew he needed, a guiding role model he could admire and base his worldview on. It’s not a thing in the games or the cartoons (it may be more of a thing in the comics, but I don’t read them enough to weigh in on that). Sonic’s a hero because he’s a hero. He’s grown enough for Big Moral Issues even when he’s theoretically still a young teen.

And yet giving him a Dad worked.

Astarion using a small mirror to gaze at Tav without them knowing. The party has just gotten out of battle, and Tav is patching up. Astarion pulls the mirror out ever-so-subtly to see they are well- because no he won’t dare go up and just ask if you are okay. If Astarion did that would mean he cared and he reasons that staring at you with the mirror is not the same thing.

Astarion ,using a mirror so obviously even though he has no reflection, and everyone else noticing it but Tav.
