Ipk is the first and probably only itv show I’ll watch, and I was pretty young when I came out so I only really watched it as an adult now (though I did catch glimpses of when my mom would watch it back when it came out); I was struck by how bold some of the scenes were from what I assume are itv standards, scenes like the jaadu hai sequence, the guesthouse scene/bachelor party etc., was ipk revolutionary in that sort of stuff or was that the standard and I just don’t know about it; even now I’ll catch stray clips of other shows on reels and they never get me the same way as ipk does

You know what ITV was going through some great time in that era. A lot of shows were really exploring a lot of things.

IPK stands out to me further for validating lust as a powerful emotion. Usually shows like to paint love as more powerful and stuff like that but in IPK they just had a solid character write up (for Arnav), an excellent villain who played catalyst and let the chemistry simmer between the leads.

Also, they really had aesthetics. The whole using mirrors, fabrics, lighting and just the way romances are shot really started here. They were one of the first to invest in the newer tech that was coming out at that time. The effort to make a scene beautiful showed.

Another reason why IPK stands out is because ITV has gone downhill from about the middle of Ishqbaaz era - 2016/2017. With Anupama, Imlie and Ghum there's been a nearly insufferable setback to hot protagonist, intentional plots, feelz, and overall beauty.

And I'd sacrifice a lot if the show was engaging, which, tbh, majority aren't.

Also I personally felt IPK was less verbose as a show which allows me to fill in vibes I like instead of being turned off by cringe and the characters were being the way the actors played them and then the characters did settle into a romance for a solid 1/3rd of the show which makes it work.

It did fulfill its plot line and stuck to it - two impossible people meet, love, live happily ever after. But like I remember seeing the promo for Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and then went to wikipedia and I read murder four times.

Lol.

And then sometimes feelz are just feelz. You feel the feelz and can't feel it for any other feelz.

This may turn into a little bit of a rant so I'm so sorry for yelling in your inbox.

But what's with all these itv shows depicting sisters becoming sworn enemies over men. I saw a promo recently for star plus' new show chashni and I'm just so tired and angry.

I have 2 sisters and everytime I see this type of premise it feels like a personal attack because we're decent people and we would never do such vile things to each other.

This is why I was such a sucker for shows like ipk and ishqbaaz because aside from the romantic ships, those shows paid attention to family and siblings relationships and portrayed them so beautifully.

And I've also noticed that more often than not, if it's two brothers who are in love with the same woman then one of them gets a whole storyline about being mahaan and putting their bhai first. So why do sisters get this ugly treatment.

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate this BS and honestly cannot watch shows with this plot - where female characters can't be rooted for; which is why I've largely moved away from tellywood, where this kinda kalesh has grown more and more rampant. No thank you.

Saat Soch: IPKKND3 Episode 1

Okay so first I have to tell you what happened to me today. I spent all day anticipating this only to come home and find that Lady Fate wasn’t on my side.

First, I was locked out of my hotmail. Now, I run my entire life through there, so there was general panic until I sorted it out. Then I streamed the episode to my TV but it lagged and stalled and was generally pleasant (I downloaded the episode at 1080p and apparently the TV ... despite being ultraHD ... doesn’t have a large enough cache to do this comfortably). So then I switched to my laptop but it had frozen.

All good now, ready to watch :D

Here there be spoilers!

1. Ahh welcome back my drama llama bitwa.

Complete with the guitar version of Arnav’s theme. Maybe he’ll play the tune on his guitar :D I wonder if they’ll use the piano rock theme, OMG I might hyperventilate, it was my favourite.

Theory confirmed: Advay’s theme is Arnav’s theme.

I can’t. It’s two seconds in and I can’t because it’s Sobti, in white, wet, holding the world’s cutest puppy.

2. Ahh, always suspected that the parental units died horribly, but w.o.w.

4. Interesting family.

Ugh. I dislike. The two sisters annoy me already but the Mama seems nice :) I’ve started mocking up a family tree, that should be available in the next few days.

This show ALSO starts with a maha aarti? Ishqbaaz and Beyhadh did as well. 

5. Oh, poor Chandni.

I’m a sucker for broken children.

I love the idea of the stone with his name to it. I love the duality of him running to save the murti (and thus the maha aarti and Chandni herself), and Chandni running to the stone with his name on it (but it said ... Chandu-Dev? *squints at screen*). The yellow dupattas curtains were a nice touch, indicating the presence of the divine, which aligned well with what Advay was doing at the time.

And look at her running from her past, to him, and him pulling in the present. I love the set up of this sequence, it was brilliant.

6. Why is nobody trying to help him?

I mean, I know he’s the Devil Incarnate but still. The statue is almost past the fulcrum point, soon it won’t matter.

What shoddy construction on the stairs! They wobbled when he stepped on them!

Is it a God? Is it a superhero? No, it’s just Advay Singh Raizada stepping on poorly made props.

Ahh, it was a plot point. My bad! (I’m hilarious tho.)

7. Um, why would you end the episode there and then show a precap that clearly tells us how that sequence ends?

Like, all the drama has been sucked out.

Precap: Um, but wasn’t she a kid sixteen years ago? How can she be blamed and punished for it all ... ... unless she gave some testimony to condemn his parents??

Theories: 

1) I wondered if the watch is Advay’s or Sobti’s, and have a theory that the watch is his father’s as hinted in the promo. 

2) Her kidnapper’s bracelet is important (ala Shyam’s bracelet).

3) Chandni’s Mama mentioned that her father, the pujari, will be killed if she doesn’t arrive for the maha aarti. Advay’s father was dressed the same as Baba when he was killed. Did Advay’s parents die because sixteen years ago Chandni didn’t arrive? It seems they died at the last maha aarti and now he’s timed his arrival to coincide with this one. The crows seem to indicate some horrible omen.

Someone with a gold tooth is involved. Chandni’s mother is obviously behind the whole thing:

Tiny!Chandni looked distressed in all the flashbacks, as if she knew what was happening!

Will I continue?

I’m definitely intrigued. I said I’d give it about twenty episodes so I want to stick to that. I want to give them time to find themselves, for the actors to settle into the characters, for the plot to coalesce a little more. It’s no secret that I’m watching for Sobti and generally just want to see how he performs in this role, but the characters seem more interesting than I’d anticipated.

EXCLUSIVE: Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma's Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke to take THIS time slot

After series of speculations and wait, Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma starrer Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke has reportedly got a time slot. While many speculated that the spin-off to the hit show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai will replace Nakuul Mehta's Ishqbaaz, we can safely confirm that it is not happening. Meanwhile, reliable sources reveal to PINKVILLA that Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke will most probably take the 7 PM slot, replacing Karn Sangini. 

Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke will most probably be going on air mid-March, and till then, the channel will be playing old romantic moments of Kaira aka Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan starrer YRKKH to fill the space. This also heightens the possibility of Shaheer Sheikh's show taking the early evening slot. Meanwhile, there were other rumours which claimed that Krishna Chali London might go off-air as well, but it doesn't seem to be a possibility as of now. 

An official confirmation on the same is awaited. Meanwhile, the team of YRHPK is currently in Bhuj, Gujarat shooting for the initial episodes of the show. They are likely to shoot for another one week in the desert city before they return to Filmcity to continue shooting. A hawan was held recently to kickstart shooting of the show; Rapper Badshah has shot with the actors of the show and YRKKH cast for a promo of the spin-off. Shaheer will be seen in a never before seen avatar in the show, according to our sources.

Nahi nahi, don't be afraid. I'll never leave IPK. I was just craving desi trash with our favorite tropes and classic scenes and @tellywoodtrash has convinced me that IB fits the bill rather spectacularly.

And since it's me - toh iska and things that could have been in IPK ka lamba segment toh hoga. And things that IPK did better.

In short it's this one clip of Omkara and Gauri that's been floating in my head, that's everything Khushi should've said to Arnav convinced me to watch this.

TT, Ishqbaaz lite is from the same team who came up with the abnoxious ghum. But I watched a promo, they used similar dialogues. Guess the fans were right, the guy goes into forums and reads fanfiction. Then picks the cringiest juvenile plots and incorporates in the shows. I would warn off my friends from such crap.

AHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA, I shoulda guessed from the weird BIL/SIL swapping vibes of the promos 😂😂😂 Seems like that's a kink for them. 😬😬😬
