Omg I forgot how frustrating a Gotham rewatch was going to be once we get to the fucking Isabella bullshit.

Like she’s literally just a plot device to keep Ed and Oswald from being together. That’s it. She creates tension between them and then she dies. This is the only purpose she exists to serve.

Essentially the Gotham writers went back over their story and went “oop we got a lil too gay with these too, better fix that” so we got Isabella. Because they couldn’t let us have the toxic boyfriends we all wanted.

It’s a shame for the actress too. She was great as Kringle, and it sucks that they only brought her back to be a plot device for like two seconds.

In short, Gotham makes me mad.

The fact gotham didn't acknowledge how Isabella is not a good influence to Edward as a person and instead portrayed her as his savior infuriates me to no end because if they didn't then the parallels to this arc and Kristen's death arc would've shined so much stronger...

Like. If they did that then both Ed and Oswald have killed a abuser to try to get with the abuse victim, both use their place of power to try to maniuplate them into a relationship ( whenther subconicously or not, I don't think either was evil plotting here but continously harassing your coworker at work when she's told you not to and trying to get with your employee who lives with you are misusing power I'm sorry) AND EVEN DOWN TO KEEPING A PART OF THEM WITH YOU AS A REMINDER TO NOT FUCKING DO IT AGAIN OH MY GOD WOULD THE ARC BE BETTER IF THEY JUST COMITTED TO THIS. ED KEPT A PAIR OF KRISTENS GLASSES AND OSWALD KEPT ED FROZEN BOTH AS A REMINDER TO NEVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN. WHY DID THEY NOT COMMIT TO THIS FULLY????

I'm sorry I just think it's fucking intresting as a concept that due to Edward trying again and again to escape responsibility and for what he did to Kristen and seeing her as a person not a fucking teaching moment landing him in a twisted verison of what he did to her is so fucking intresting. I do not get the writers fixation on making Isabella be good for him. It should've been by him trying to find any way to avoid facing what he did, even going so far to try to recreate what he built with Kristen causing him to get similar treatment to what he did to her IT MAKES ME SO PISSED IM GOING TO EAT CARDBOARD FROM THIS MANNN

Did they just miss working with Chelsea Spack? In the canon was she supposed to look exactly like Kristen? Or were we meant to understand that she had a passing resemblance to Kristen but no real relationship to her? HOW HAS THIS NEVER BEEN EXPLAINED!?
