I tend to just push "mean-spirited party banter" into the "things I don't like about da2" jar which is a little lazy of me
#it's just one of those things about da2 that feels like. Who does this for 6 years. Who puts up with it#what kind of 'party leader' puts up with it for 6 years#but Hawke is not a party leader. Everyone is here for a laugh because they've got nothing better going on in their lives#Which is part of the tragedy of it all. Fenris and Merrill in particular have no where else to really go#Anders is looking at the deep roads or most likely death. Maybe tranquility. If he doesn't stick by someone with Hawke's influence#Isabela is also stuck in Kirkwall as she hunts down the tome and Hawke is tough enough to keep thugs off her back in the mean time#Varric could leave at any time but he's obsessed with Hawke#Aveline is either protective of Hawke because she feels she owes them for getting her in the city#or continues to follow along to at least keep tabs on whatever ruckus they're up to#(Isabela WILL leave if she doesn't like you enough)#I think Fenris has a leave condition too. If you ignore his act 2 quest too long he'll go#not sure about anyone else
