‘You’re welcome to join us.’
Your gaze remained on the eyes hidden behind welding goggles. The Engineer held a small smile as he offered you such a strange opportunity. He seemed smaller when he spoke, almost sheepish; it was strange to find that there was one man among RED team shorter than yourself.
The man’s appearance, though still unnerving, was a welcome change from the poking and prodding of the base’s resident doctor, and one, scrawny Scout attempting to peer in on the new ‘recruit’. The Texan had been kind enough to fix your door, replacing it with something far sturdier; it granted you a little privacy despite the constant visits you received from Medic. In a way, the Engineer seemed the only one to be more welcoming and less… whatever Heavy, Medic and Scout were.
Since you had been drugged, or rather tranquilised, time had flown by. You had been unable to keep up with the hours that passed you by, save for the occasional meal brought in. Simple foods with little taste, potentially avoiding the chance you might not be able to keep it all down.
Heavy was always the one bringing in the meals for you to eat; he always did so alongside one of the doctor’s visits. He never spoke much, but he did talk with Medic, reminding him you needed food before he ‘sedated’ you again, and exchanging some short, but friendly conversations with the man. It was a strange appearance, looking up at the bear of a man, and not having him gun you down on the spot. He was always intimidating, but he never went out of his way to scare you.
Scout was, by comparison, an annoyance. He hovered about the room, like a little kid, when Medic visited. He would peer in at whatever was occurring and stare. He seemed just as astounded as you, if not more so, that you were joining RED. Considering he hadn’t attacked you that evening after your surgery, you could only assume someone had told him beforehand. You seriously doubted that he would have worked it out for himself.
Since that evening, your head had begun to clear, and the entirety of your situation had come back to you. Thanks, in no small part, to Medic’s rambling. Apart from Heavy’s almost indifference, and Scout’s curiosity, Medic was a strange case.
On one hand, he was the ‘Medic’ for a reason. He came into your new room, tested your breathing and reapplied bandages, all the while reminding you of your agreement and what to expect at RED base. You were at least a little thankful that he reminded you of everything that had happened after your last fight on opposite sides. It helped to clear up the memories in your head and regain your senses when you awoke.
On the other hand, the Medic caused you a great deal of discomfort. You were never quite sure what was going on in his head, and what he may have been keeping from you; intentionally or otherwise. He would turn serious, or start laughing wildly, or offering you a genuine smile or kinder words. Through it all, you felt confused.
It wasn’t just his actions that confused you.
You had started to notice that you appreciated his constant talking, not necessarily registering what he said, but just how he spoke. His excitement, which tended to cause him to slip into his mother tongue, and cause his voice to reach a higher pitch. And then when he spoke to you slower, less excitable but still kind, his voice seemed richer. He was tender with his words, and his voice was slightly deeper. It was unusual.
You didn’t like how observant you were becoming of the German doctor.
Certainly, having all the information you needed in case you were betrayed might have been in your best interest, but you knew your notice was not because you were gathering information in a self-preservation sense. Instead, you were lulled to almost relax in the man’s presence, unable to help but stare.
You told yourself at first that the reason you stared was because of how weird it all was.
You couldn’t lie to yourself for long, and you started recognising that your cheeks heated up when he complimented how your lungs sounded, or how your heart had looked when he had been holding it. It shouldn’t have been something flattering, in fact, you should have felt scared or sick by his strange comments. Though you felt a little uncomfortable and a bit disturbed, you still hung onto every word he said; a little more each time he spoke.
Which led you to your current situation.
You had been astounded, perhaps even a little disappointed, when it had been Engineer that had knocked on your door. You didn’t smile at him when Engineer first entered. You were rather frustrated that you had been forced to accommodate so many people in your private quarters the past two nights. So many visits, unwelcome or otherwise, had left you feeling ragged and worn out.
‘Sorry to disturb, but the doc’s gon’ and told us you should be right to move, and I thought you might like to get out of the room. Considerin’ what’s happened, I was wonderin’ if you’d like to come to dinner?’
Your stomach gurgled painfully at the thought of eating something other than a light soup and some toast. You clutched at it; you could still feel the raw edges of the incision, healed slowly over time by the medigun. Not entirely fixed, but at least you didn’t feel like your chest was about to burst.
‘M-Maybe.’ He smiled. ‘Who will be there?’ You tried to shake away the thoughts that there was one mercenary you were looking forward to seeing.
‘Uh, well, everyone. I’ll be the one cookin though, so no need to worry. It’s gon’ be a traditional Texan barbecue. Some brisket, ribs and sausages. We need to get some meat on those bones.’ He said, gesturing to how your body, though sustained, had lost a little weight from the past couple of days.
The thought of smoked meat was a delightful one, but the thought of everyone being present was another matter entirely. You were comfortable enough around the Texan, Heavy, Scout and even Medic, but the others were another matter. You didn’t want to seem afraid as you spoke, but even as you asked your question, you felt your voice quake.
‘A-And Spy?’
Engineer removed his hard hat, revealing his scalp as he rubbed rather sheepishly at the back of his head. He seemed uncomfortable. It wasn’t a secret that you despised the man.
‘He’ll be there. It is a team dinner after all.’ You felt cold. The idea of having to interact with Spy scared you more than the idea of meeting the rest of the team for the first time. You had yet to see or speak to the Sniper, Soldier, Demo-Man and Pyro since you arrived, but none of them scared you as much as the Frenchman.
‘And you’re part o’ the team now.’ He reached out, resting a large hand against your shoulder. You tensed at the new sensation, expecting a bruising grip or something akin to pain to blossom under his hand. Instead, you felt nothing more than a warmth spread, and a comfort as he didn’t so much as squeeze.
‘I…’ You were still reeling from the turmoil your body felt. ‘I don’t know if I will be welcome.’
His hand slipped from his shoulder, but Engineer just offered you another smile. Almost jokingly, he bowed, hard hat pressed to his chest, as if like a gentleman. He returned it to his head.
‘You’re welcome to join us.’ He stepped away from the door, offering you a wave of the hand as he moved away. ‘Whenever you like, there’ll be a place for you.’
You watched him leave, shifting from foot to foot in agitation. You did not want to remain cooped up in your new room, but you were not sure you could stand to be in the same room as Spy. The last thing you wanted to do was embarrass yourself, or give the team a reason to believe you were a threat to them.
You felt over where the Engineer had rested his hand, feeling for a bruise that he might have left, but felt nothing. It astounded you that any of these mercenaries could touch you and not cause pain. Unlike BLU team, who seemed unable to express themselves without violence off the battle field, RED had proven to you that it was possible.
You had no idea how long you had stood there contemplating whether to head upstairs and to dinner or not, but it was long enough that the smell of grilled pork and sausages had all but leeched down the hall and to your person. Your stomach rumbled once more, and you felt yourself stepping forward, almost unaware that you were moving.
You were thankful for the RED shirt you had been given, something large enough that you could wrap it tighter around your body for warmth. The material was thick enough to keep the cold of the basement at bay and, even better, it hid the white wrappings across your chest. Your ruined BLU uniform had been thrown out after the first night, sometime whilst you were drugged. You had felt exposed when you had realised it, highly aware that you were permanently a part of RED, and unable to collect your belongings from BLU base. Though, perhaps leaving it all behind was a good thing; nothing more to tie you down with those dickheads in BLU base.
You approached the stairwell, the strong smell of a barbecue and the cacophony of voices alerting you to the presence of a crowded dinner table. You felt your body tremble, and for a moment, you thought about returning to your room, tail between your legs.
You pressed on, mentally pushing yourself forward. Your legs felt weighed down and despite the fact you were ascending out of the basement and out of the cold, you felt colder still as you crossed the threshold of the final step. Just behind the wall to the kitchen, you could hear the scrape of cutlery and the sizzle of the barbecue; conversations ranging from gloating about RED’s last win and the new weapon catalogue Mann Co. had released helped to put you at some ease.
You stood there for a time, unsure if you could, or even should, approach.
‘You gonna move?’
Long after this dinner, you would deny that you had screamed. You would deny that you leapt nearly three feet in the air. You would deny that you hadn’t heard the Australian approach, and simply the exertion of climbing the stairs had put a strain on your injuries.
You were lying, of course.

Hello my lovelies, I hope you’ve had a fab week! Today I’m starting off by jumping on the band wagon of the crazy popular Netflix show “YOU”. Now this show was one I had been anticipating for so long after seeing the teaser trailers and it looked so up my alley, a little creepy and intense but still stylised. A real thriller you can sink your teeth into and it did not disappoint. This show was everything I expected and more which is why when I went to my local book store and saw it sitting there, I couldn’t ignore it. I just had to pick it up.
So here I am today to talk about the differences between the Netflix adaptation and the book. I know a lot of my posts tend to be actual book reviews but due to the popularity and hype around this book and show I thought it would be time wasted as there are so so many posts about it recently. So, I thought I’d compile a quick list of differences between the two platforms for the quick readers. I hope you enjoy this blog post and if so make sure to come back and check out my other book reviews!
SPOILERS AHEAD.
Time line differences:
The progression of Joe and Bec’s relationship is a lot slower in the book, while the show is almost shot for shot when showing events in the book, their relationship is always an almost. For example, at the time of the Ikea visit they aren’t together in the book, this was a ploy Bec used to manipulate Joe into taking her places and putting her furniture together, while in the show they had already been established for a while and even engaged in some physical activities while there.
At the Dicken’s fair Bec visits with her estranged family, Joe and Bec again, are not together. A lot of the book hinges on the fact that Bec plays and toys with Joe through almost the entirety of the story. It’s cruel really, she spends weeks with him staying over, engaging in relationship-like activities, making him feel special and loved and then will ghost him and flake on him for no reason which in turn intensifies his creepy/ obsessive behaviour.
Character traits:
Bec plays Joe around a lot more in the book as I state above. She constantly cancels plans for Peach, Chyna or Lynn as they ‘need’ her more or because she’s sick. Without fail, there is always something wrong, or something she can’t get out of. She lies about plans and takes days sometimes weeks to reply to him, which is especially cruel in my eyes as she tends to do this after playing the perfect doting girlfriend. Bec in the show is depicted as a bit of a lost and confused soul, someone we are made to feel empathy for yet In the book she is extremely manipulative, a user and a cheat. A very unlikable character towards the end.
Suspicions:
When in the show we are introduced to peach initially it is very obvious she is not only overly protective of Bec but also highly suspicious of Joe and this suspicion we only see intensify as she becomes paranoid of things that seem ‘too good to be true’ regarding their run ins and ‘fated meetings’. Establishing her as the villain/enemy of Joe quite early on. While in the book peach never catches wind of Joe's stalker-ish and violent tendencies, her irritation towards Joe (hatred if you will) simply stems from an over bearing and protective friendship.
Joe’s childhood:
Joe’s childhood is kept very hush hush and yes, in the book it’s not talked about in explicit detail but we do read in the form of a few throw away comments about how he had no mother figure growing up and was left with a drunk abusive father who had no time or care for his son.
We are only provided with one example in the book about the neglect Joe faced while growing up. He talks about the time when he was locked in the cage as punishment by Mr. Mooney, the shop owner, for three days and upon returning home Joe’s father was completely unaware his child had been missing at all and expressed no concern for his well being
Confrontation:
The Dicken’s fair is where we are introduced to Bec’s estranged and dysfunctional family, yet Bec is fully aware Joe has followed her and she spots him. Instead of the fire filled confrontation we see in the show, she doesn’t confront him and he flees from the scene in a fit of panic and drives back to his home where Bec bombards him with calls and texts desperate to talk to him. He is sure it’s to confront him about his behaviour and we see through his inner dialogue he is certain the jig is up and she will brand him a loser when in actual fact she ignores the fact he followed her across the country and just wants him to keep her company and listen to her moan about her hard life. Another reason I find Bec insanely irritating.
The reveal:
The box that Bec finds at the end of the book that results in her learning about Joe’s true identity contains her belongings but he had kept no keepsakes of his other victims like it shows in the Netflix adaptation. No teeth or phones or anything tying him to the other deaths. Only the stuff he has stolen from Bec’s apartment over the passing months. including the most disturbing item in my eyes, a used tampon, that Joe justifies as normal because it’s a plastic one. (I just can’t even)
Deaths:
When we finally see Joe's intense and violent side come out with unsuspecting Benji we were all shocked. The show seemed to go from 0 to a 100 real fast. Which if you felt was a little out of the blue, there’s a reason. The show clearly changed the interaction between Joe and Benji for artistic licence. We know this because in the book Joe only sedated Benji with a drink and then drags him into the cage in his comatose state. He never strikes him in a fit of panic or rage. We never really see an overly unhinged Joe, he is always calm and collected which I personally preferred because when he does start to unravel at the end of the book it makes it a little more exciting gives the scene more of a shocking impact.
Peach’s death is quite similar in both book and show, but there are some important differences. In the show we see it set up by a panicked Joe to look like a suicide which even includes a note (a clever foreshadowing of Bec’s grisly end). After an attempted drug fuelled threesome initiated by Peach and her unsuccessful male lover (a scene we see nothing of in the book) while in the book Joe secretly stalks the girls vacation home and sees Peach spike Bec’s drink and try to seduce her through an intimate massage that results in Peach’s total dismissal of Bec once she has been rejected. He then waits for Peach to go on a run along the beach and suffocates her in the sand and finally ends it all by hitting her over the head repeatedly with a rock.
We also find out through a series of throw away comments and one scene for scene recollection in the book how Candace died, or better yet, was murdered. Confirming suspicion, it was at Joe’s hand and it was death by drowning. Joe even admits to manipulating her suspicious brother into believing she died in a body surfing accident. We hear this through his own personal narrative while conversing with Bec about lies and secrets they both keep.
Initially at the very end of both book and show we see Joe lose his temper with Bec and strangle her. Once he has calmed down and the deed is done, he shows extreme remorse and guilt. We see a whole page where he expresses a mass amount of regret and begins to break down over what he’s done and how he’s lost her. Unknowingly Bec has tricked him and surprises him by attacking him when his guard is down. This in itself annoys Joe to breaking point and through a series of mental thoughts he explains how he was wrong about her, how she could never love him and how now she has proven to him she is everything he hoped she wasn’t, he then strangles her whole heartedly and even more sickening, he seems to enjoy it.
The ending:
In the show we see in the last episode a girl walk into the shop and the narration he shared when encountering Bec for the first time begins again, insinuating it’s all come full circle and is about to repeat itself. It proves that Joe is a creature of habit and this is his vicious circle and sadly is one he is unable/ unwilling to break. But as we see this girl is Candace (a shock to us all yes) yet in the book it’s already established she was murdered at Joe's hand many years ago. In the book it is a thief we encounter briefly a few chapters back who was using a fake name and a stolen credit card, a girl who has named herself Amy Adams. While inquiring for a job it is hinted at that she is Joe’s next victim and someone he has chosen to become his new obsession.
This ending is what particularly interested me, as we see the book has a clear end and has given Candace a grisly death thus, eliminating the possibility of her return. Yet in the show, we hear nothing about her death it is just left to hearsay and suspicion. We are then thrown a curve ball by her entrance into the shop in the very last episode which leads us to believe that the show is now going off on a completely new and unknown path, something that both excites and worries fans of the books.
I am also aware a second follow on book has been written and I will be jumping on that very soon!
I hope you enjoyed this post and have a great day. Thanks for reading!

A Scientific Study of Why Egos, Sides, Alternate Selves and the Likes Can Exist
Many online personalities, such as Mark Fischbach, also known as Markiplier, and Thomas Sanders, have created characters that are branches of their own being as a way to spice up their videos and boost watch count. These 'Egos' are well loved by the communities surrounding the online personalities, and are often the inspiration for the creation of fan products such as art, books and games.
These 'Alternate Selves' can be confusing to those whom are new to the communites or have only just 'discovered them', but even to those who 'interact' with them on a daily basis still have questions as to the lore, physics and inner working of the character. Questions like, "How are they related to their creator?", "How did they come to be?", "What are they? Are they human? Or something else?" and "Why do they exist?". And while the answer to some of those may seem obvious form the perspective of someone who isn't interested in the inner workings, but answers like "Oh they aren't real" and "they're just characters, they exist cause that person put on a costume and talking in a different voice" aren't enough for those who are invested in these characters and their stories.
Now, today we will be covering the inner workings, the 'whys', 'whats', and 'hows' of these characters, covering the science and physics of why, and how they exist and what they are. The lore and individual workings of these characters is to be covered in several more articles. These will be labled under the basic title of "The Case of...." with each one covering one or a group of characters, the lore we know and possible theories to fill in any gaps. I will be using Mr Mark Fischbach's, Mr Sean McLoughlin's and Mr Thomas Sanders's 'Egos' and 'Sides' as my example in this since they are the one I know best. If there are other people with 'Egos', please point me in their direction so I can analyse them too.
There are several things these characters have in common going acros the board. As of this point in time, the 5th of May 2018, (date written not posted on the 21st of August, some information can be easily proven wrong due to recent developments. I will cover that in part 2 when I write it) these things are;
Each 'Ego' is an off branch of their creator's personality, mind or imagination
Each 'Ego' is designed to, while being physically the same as their creator, have vastly different style, appearance and personality to their creator
Each 'Ego' has a very different personality, no two are the same
And on a final note, the 'Egos' are able to interact with one another, no matter if they can/are physically manifest/ed outside of their creator or share a head and/or body with their creator
Aside from these facts, each creator has a different method of interacting and showcasing their 'Egos' . Examples being while Mr Fischbach has shown that his 'Egos' can interact with one another outside of his body and shown that they are their own people yet him at the same time, Sean McLoughlin, also known as Jacksepticeye, shows most his 'Egos' as having to use his body to become physical, taking control of his form and sharing his head whilst not in control until they they can manifest in their own body, like with Dr Henrik Von Schneeplestein in the latest video (as of May 5th 2018) he featured in.
Now that we have introduced the topic of disscusion and covered the across the board basics, we can get into the fun stuff. What are they? Well, there are four categories of classification; Figment, Personality, Paranormal and Look-a-Like. This now leads me to explain the traits an 'Ego' needs to be classed under one or two of these categories.
For an 'Ego' to be a Figment, they need to start off by sharing the body of their creator, or be a 'figment' of the creator's mind. This is shown with Mr Sean McLoughlin's 'Egos', with most of them being shown to gradually tke control of him in their debuts. Figments hide in the subconsious of their creators, or hosts, and are, in technical terms, a part of them until their host has built up enough energy to allow them and grants them, a part of his/her/their mind, to manifest, gain physical form. Before they are able to manifest, they can commnicate with each other and their host but it does leave their host with a painful headache that can render them incapable of moving until it has died down and gone away. Figments have the ability to take control of their hosts before they manifest. When a Figment takes control of their host, it is shown to cause variying amounts pain depending on the speed or suddenness of them taking over. For example, if a Figment takes control slowly and gradually, there will be less pain since the host has been give warning and in return has given the Figment permission to take the reigns. If the Figment take over suddenly with little warning or time for the host to stop them, it can cause a fair amount of pain, injury, sickness etc. The type of pain cause also vary depending on the personality and abilities of the Figment, for example, before Dr Henrik Von Schneeplestein manifested, his take over of Mr McLoughlin were with only a moment or two of warning and cause sickness such as a head or chest cold. However, in most cases, it doesn't take long for the host to gain the energy to allow them to manifest gain the energy needed to manifest, and with manifestation taking anywhere from three to nine months, Figments are usually very close to their host.
Personality catergoriezed 'Egos', commonly known as 'Sides' can be considered similar to Figments, being that both share the minds of their creators. However, unlike a Figment, a 'Side' can become seperate from their host. This category requires the 'Ego' to be a physical representation of an aspect of the creator's personality. An example of this is with Mr Thomas Sanders's 'Sanders Sides', a group of five characters played by himself that each represent an aspect of his personality. There are the four main 'Sides', Logan/Logic, Patton/Morality, Roman/Creativity and Virgil/Anxiety with the addition of Mr Thomas's only 'bad side' Deceit (name unrevealed as of May 5th, 2018). 'Sides' are used to help their creator find who they are or sort out emotional issues. These 'Sides' are able to do things humans can't, but it is not magic nor a supernatural power, it is because they can are of the mind, so what you see them do in our world is gone as soon as they return to the mind of their creator. These 'powers' are actually Dreams, illusions created by 'Sides' to help them show their creator how they can slove the issue or improve on their mental health. The 'Sides' will appear in the same way their corresponding trait does, for example the trait of Fear would slowly appear in the room using the choosen manner (e.g. rising in, fading in, etc) and leave in the same manner they came while the trait of Curiousity would spontainiously appear in the room out of nowhere and leave at a much slower pace, most likely hanging around as an afterthought in the creator's mind. Personality 'Sides' are the only category of 'Egos' that can't be double categorized, but can swap categories and become figments if the creator has a deep enough bond with them when something has cause them to change their main personality traits.
Paranormal are perhaps the most powerful 'Egos'. They need not their creator to survive nor do they share the body or mind of their creator. These 'Egos' are connected to their creator because they share the same spiritual energy and basic appearance. Paranormal 'Egos' are very similar to Look-a-Likes, but with one major difference. Look-a-Likes are human, the Paranormal are not. 'Egos' in this category are the ghosts, magic users, robot and etc of the groups. The Paranormal 'Egos'are able to do things beyond our understanding. This category has 'Egos' that can bend reality, predict the future, fly and so much more. Most of the 'Egos' that are solely of this category are found amoung the many 'Egos' Of Mr Mark Fischbach, with the two of his main 'Egos' (Darkiplier and Google IRL) being of this category alone. Paranormal 'Egos' are the most diverse group, being that the only traits these 'Egos' need are 1) Looking like their creator/sharing the same spiratual energy as them and 2) Not being human/Being a magic user. This also means that a lot of 'Egos' under this category are double categorized in either the Figment or Look-a-Like categories. Most of those classed under magic user (eg The Host, Marvin the Magnificent etc) are double category 'Egos', since their species is still human, they just have spiritual/blood ties to supernatural/magical beings/powers.
Just like the Paranormal, Look-a-Likes share a spiritual energy with their 'creator' which is what allows others to bring them to this dimension. Most Look-a-Likes have fairly normal careers and odd personality quirks, such as Dr Edward Iplier, one of Mr Mark Fischbach's 'Egos'. Dr Iplier is a fairly normal doctor, if we didn't take into account the fact that his first response is to tell you you're dying, in his first appearance he is even called the "Worst News Doctor". Some believe that those in this category have powers and paranormal abilities too, but that is not the case. The 'powers' shown by these characters is a sixth sense, one that we too have but are less in tune with than 'Egos'.
Now that we know the basics of what they are, lets cover the 'how' and 'why' of this topic. How did they get here? Why are they here? Well, each category of 'Egos' exists in this world due to a different reason;
Figments can be formed, or created, with a powerful enough belief in a character, a curse placed apon the host or with an idea that has enough creative energy and belief behind it. As that belief or curse gains power, the Figment grows in abilities until they are able to manifest, manifestation can take several months and once they have fully manifested can not return to the mind/body of the creator. This can cause some issues in terms of housing and keeping their existance a seceret, but those with the right resources can do it. They exist due to the large amounts of belief energy our dimension has, as well as the abundance of dreams.
Personality 'Sides' are formed, or created, within the mind of their creator/host at young age as the dominant traits of the personality are discovered, generally remaining dormant until called upon in times of need. Once needed, they are able to manifest in this world. When 'Sides' manifest outside of their creator/hosts body, they are generally only seen by the creator/host unless others are close enough to the creator/host that their sould have created a bond. This can happen between close family memebers, friendships and reletionships. Personality 'Sides' exist to help their creator.
Paranormal Egos and Look-a-Likes, that aren't double categoriezed as Figments, have their own lives and existence in a sub-dimesions next to our own, their 'creator' never truly having made them, only called them. Paranormal are able to travel back and forwards while Look-a-Likes have to be called by their 'creator' or dragged along by a Paranormal. Both Paranormal and Look-a-Likes are first called to this dimension when the 'creator' has an idea for a character that is actually them just reading the spiritual energy send through the bond by that 'Ego', this means that the 'creator' can never know if an idea they have had is their own or an alternate version of them. However, if these 'Egos' have travelled/been called here even once, they will lose energy to void between dimensions on the way back and forward, so many of them have and agreement with their 'creator' so they can return and collect more energy from this dimension to make up for what is lost when they return home since, unlike our dimension, their sub-dimension doesn't create excess energy. This agreement can make some of them more powerful, whilst other need to do it to survive since energy deplets in Paranormal and Look-a-Like 'Egos' can be dangerous, causeing sickness and even death. Our dimension can make it's own energy through environmental changes, belief, laughter and dreams. The sub-dimension can't create energy through belief or dreams, the two that create the most energy because there is nothing to believe in there, no stories of something that only exists in your dreams cause there isn't anything that doesn't exist, and if there isn't anything that can only exist in your dreams, it's pretty hard to have one isn't it? This lack of belief and dreams is causing their dimension to fall apart, which is why it tied itself to our dimension. This is also why the agreement says that the Paranomal and Look-a-Likes are to appear in the videos of their 'creators', because if people in this dimension can believe in them, they can stay alive and their home can survive as well.
There's probably one or two questions you have been left with at this point. Do I, the composer of this text, know exactly what they are? No, but I will guess that one of those question is about double categoriezed 'Egos'. Double categoriezed 'Egos' are the ones that can fit in up to two of the categories, generally being an even mix of the two. How does this work?
Well is an 'Ego' is both Figmentive and Paranormal, like Antsepticeye or Jackieboy Man, then it means they have ties to an alternate reality. 'Egos' that share these two categories have died in their realities but due to sharing the same spiritual energy as their host they become trapped in this world, hense the need for so much energy and time to gain physical form. Their memories of their own realities are dull and blurry because of this. These 'Egos' are very driven by the things they do remember, for example their death or goals in life. Most however, don't remeber that they have died and are still trying to get to a reality that most likely doesnt exist any more. Those that do remember their death are the ones that had an untimely death, most often suicidce or murder, they try and use their second chance, so to speak, for their own gains. One thing both sets of Paranormal-Figments have in common is that they came back due to unfinished buisness or regrets.
An 'Ego' that is both Paranormal and Look-a-Like is a human with magical abilities such as The Host or Wilford Warfstache. These 'Egos' usually started off as human in their sub-dimension, until an unlikely event took place and they gained their powers. Curses, insanity, objects of power and the likes are the usual culprits, but some gain their powers as a gift. Like their Paranormal or Look-a-Like counterparts, these 'Egos' share a spiritual energy with their 'creators', and like the Paranormal, these 'Egos' are able to travel back and fourth at will, but it drains them a lot more than it would a Paranormal 'Ego'. No two of these 'Egos' share the same powers, nor do they share the same story.
And finally, 'Egos' that are both Figmentive and Look-a-Likes, since Personality 'Sides' can't be double categorized but instead can change categories. 'Egos' that are of these two categories, similar too their Paranormal-Figmentive counterparts, died in their reality and came back due to the spiritual energy chared with their host. Just like with Paranormal 'Egos' and Look-a-Likes, the biggest difference here is that Figmentive Look-a-Likes are powerless. They everything unlike their Paranormal-Figmentive counterparts and could have stayed at rest after their deaths, since no matter the way of death that these 'Egos' died, they died with out regret or the will to live on. They were given a second chance due to the good nature of their soul.
I will write more covering how this logic applies for each idvidual 'Ego', and their canon lore plus some theories on them. If you have any points you like to add to prove me wrong or contribute to this theory, than feel free to add them! I would also like to congratulate you if you read the entire post and I formally apologize for the nine pages worth of writing you've had to scroll past if you didn't.
