when I ramble down
in my paltry crown
i hear that things will change
but nothing will change
and you tumble down
in your tattered gown
they say things will change
but nothing will change
through the loss, the pain
of the love you'll gain
through the years of strain
of the life to gain
through the loss, the pain
of the life
you can drink your wine
oh, from your earthly vines
they say things will change
but nothing will change
through the loss, the pain
of the love you'll gain
through the years of strain
of the life to gain
through the loss, the pain
of the life

The Virgin Prunes - Photo by Ursula Steiger.
September 28, 1978: THE VIRGIN PRUNES are one of the new bands that have sprung from the clubs in Dublin, Ireland. They're members of the same social set that count U2 among their number and have been playing together since the end of 1977. The Virgin Prunes are Gavin Friday (Fionan Hanvey) and Guggi (Derek Rowen) on vocals, Strongman (Trevor Rowen) on bass, Pod (Anthony Murphy) on drums, Dik Evans on bass (U2's Dave "The Edge" Evans' brother) and Dave-id (David Watson) on vocals.
Great article on the band:

Joe Toye's son about his father:
"He was a pretty religious guy and went to church every Sunday. He was even in a choir when he was young. He was always grateful for what he had. They portrayed him in the series as a quiet, almost morose kind of guy, but growing up, I saw another side of him. He wasn鈥檛 a backslapper, but he had a pretty good sense of humor. Babe and Malarkey both said that when the bullets started flying, my dad sang Irish songs."
I had chills reading this passage. Joe was amazing :')

I fucking love that Kneecap got picked up by Sony for this film, it鈥檚 the fucking funniest thing ever. Because Kneecap are just uncompromising, they鈥檒l do exactly what they鈥檝e always done, that鈥檚 what the film does too, and now Sony Classic Pictures is having to go along with putting out little promo clips of the Kneecap lads talking straight to the audience encouraging and explaining the Irish word for cocaine with tips on how to safely do it. And what can Sony say? Anything not touching on it cuts out like 60% of the film
