I'm quite out of the loop so I'd really like to know why when I go to research (or double-check) my Irish mythology, jewelry sites have the most accurate and informative breakdown of mythology? like why is that a thing? I'd go read an excellent paper on selkies or the faerie queen and be like "this is beautifully written and so knowledgeable, this must be from Trinity College or a library archive- nope it's a jewelry store"
A cool legend says that in days past, the banshee would warn of impending tragedy by keenly wailing at the moon. But in Ireland's misty forests and bogs lived also the Pooka - a shapeshifting spirit who took delight in mischief over malice. Some say if you hear wild laughter in the woods at midnight, it's the Pooka coming to play a trick! I’ve heard of people being scared of Pookas, but the word itself is so cute that it sounds like something furry and huggable. I’m glad they aren’t too mean, just trickster-y.
just got home from a local arts festival and this is what I've noticed
mediocre contemporary line drawing: $700
actually incredible oil painting of the same size by someone with a fine arts degree: $280
it's totally fine for the first person to price their art at $700 if that's what people will pay for it. but what's not okay imo is for the second piece--requiring far more time and objective skill--to be priced at less.
Do you have any thoughts on what Clay Calloway would wear outside of what he actually wears? I'd love to hear your ideas!
Absolutely! Into the folders I go, hope you enjoy!! - <3 Gooseless

So Clay is the senior member of the leather jacket gang on set (Johnny and Ash are the other members). His is his old motorcycle jacket from when he was younger so it has a lot of wear and patches on it. In the Human AU it does have a fluffy collar too.
Vintage band t-shirts (that he probably was given by said bands) make up almost all of Clay's shirts. He does layer them with flannels, typically red ones, just like Ash does.
Jeans. Clay wears only jeans or dress pants. No in-between.
He wears military/motorcycle boots. Partially because it's what he's used to, partially because of his motorcycle, ...mainly because it looks cool.
And for accessories, he wears a necklace with his first guitar pick on it and a ton of spike earrings. Like all different sizes, mainly in ode to his days as a younger rockstar. He also wears aviator sunglasses a lot, which Ash teases him about relentlessly, especially when he wears them indoors. Clay also wears his wedding ring, which is a traditional Irish Claddagh ring. He wears it on his left hand on the third finger with the heart pointing inwards.
P.s.+Fun Fact: Irish Claddagh rings symbolize love (the heart), loyalty (the crown), and friendship (the hands). It can be worn in different positions to mean different relationship statuses.
Catherine wears the Shamrock brooch every year as she presents Shamrocks to Irish Guards on St Patrick's Day.
The brooch is owned by the Irish Guards who loan it to the Royal Ladies associated with their regiment and is believed to date back to 2000, when the regiment celebrated its hundredth birthday.
The Queen Mum and Princess Anne have been previously loaned the brooch when they presented shamrocks to the Irish Guards. However since 2011, Catherine has been its exclusive Royal wearer. She first debuted it in June 2011, when she attended a medal parade for the regiment at Victoria Barracks in Windsor and has continuedto wear it on every St. Patrick's Day since then.
The Cartier gold three-leaf brooch has a textured gold surface with a single emerald is placed at the center of the shamrock.
For an American Irish speaker, it’s fun, and rather exciting, to find Irish in unexpected places. Well, usually. At least at first. It can crop up in all kinds of places — novels, jewelry, songs, TV shows and movies…even tattoos. Sometimes it’s even spelled right (or, in the case of a movie or a song, pronounced correctly) and says exactly what it purports to say. Sometimes.Often, though, the…
