#Iris watches rescue bots

earthspark reminds me of rescue bots and RID15 in a way - where they don’t dismiss the hardships of the war or baby-fy pre-existing characters, which I really appreciate! that’s what keeps me watching

Instead, they bring in new naive non-traumatized main characters that never participated in the war, and that really helps to maintain the child-friendly focus.

I can appreciate the different POVs as long as they’re faithful to their true characters!

I think one of the biggest strengths of rescue bots and RID15 is the fact that it took place in the aligned universe. Transformers Prime was entirely canon - and we SAW how rough the war was there. so seeing it censored from an outsiders pov but seeing them still acting the same and KNOWING what they went through - ohhh!!!

Although Earthspark doesn’t have that connection, we can imply they endured similar hardships. based on the flashback animation style it was likely closer to whatever happened in G1.

either way, I’m really enjoying the new concepts they’re bringing forth as well.

- reformed megatron? let’s GO! love to see it for the first time outside the comics :] however, I’m hoping it comes later but I really need them to walk through how/why he reformed. like how did this Happen. just hoping it’ll happen later. (edit: OH and combiner wars!)

- I like how bee isn’t the stereotypical blabbermouth. maybe he USED to be that way but it’s obvious that war has yknow, made him more jaded and responsible.

- decepticons ACT like decepticons. (such a relief compared to RID15! that drove me insane. every transformer that caused trouble was labeled a decepticon when like none of them even knew who megatron was 🙄. At least Swindle in earthspark actually ACTS like swindle)

- I like how the mom was already part of the EDC or Ghost or whatever. we’re so used to seeing humans have to get used to living with transformers but NAHHH her and op and megs & co are already besties. love that! we jumped to the chase! hope I can see some war flashbacks

anyways can’t wait to see more earthspark and I’m glad my TF hyperfixation is back thanks to transformers one :]

I decided to watch my old show, cause of new transformer movie.

But let start the story.

TRANSFORMERS PRIME X CHILD READER

I don't know what year took place, but I'll put 2010.

You're Jake, little sister.

You're 5 years old.

Love to draw.

You first saw the autobot team, optimus prime.

You hang out with them.

You don't have their guardian autobots.

So bumblebee and Raf take you home because you'll fall off when you're one jack ride.

You can't go on adventure with them cause you're too small.

You're kinda sad, like everyone forgot about you, even June, your mom doesn't let you go on adventure.

You thought you would be lonely.

But not in till, when your school decides to go on camp.

You think everyone will be happy cause you're so annoying.

Then you decided to go on a walk by yourself without anyone noticing.

That was where you found a big cave, you decided to go in there cause yeah.

As you go down the cave, you see this gaint shadow appear in front of you.

And it's a predacons.

There's 6 of them.

Then you become friends with them, you gave them each name.

Lapis- transform an actic wolf with wings.

Color- blue and white

Amethyst- transforms Great Leonopteryx from Avatar.

Color- red and pruple.

Lily - transform a greenland wolf.

Color- red and orange

Rose- transform dragon.

Color- pruple and black.

Bluebell- transform a mountain lion.

Color - orange and yellow.

Iris - transform a grey wolf.

Color- grey blue and white.

You hang out with them much.

You didn't tell anyone about the cave and meet the predacons.

You found out that lapis can make Concussive roar: lapis has a loud, powerful roar that sends blue rings to knock down/destroy structures.

Portal Creation: Lapis roar can also open up green and blue portals (like the ground bridge), connecting two non-adjacent areas.

So you guys can go whatever you want to go.

They take you to their hideout.

They eat deception, energons, or energon cube.

They listen to you.

Follow where you go.

Play with them.

Teach them about earth, where you live, and show them your family.

Talk about your family and how you feel left behind.

They understand you, and you understand them, but you can tell their body language and their emotions.

Well, lapis is your best friend, they are.

You just like predacons' wishaper.

But when you have to leave the camp, lapis will pick you up.

Then your family noticed how you were acting different.

They saw your drawing of different people.

You draw your friends all lot, and they still wonder who might be.

Optimus, notice your drawing of the simple of the predacons sign.

He knew something was up.

Not until when Megatron found full pack of Energon cube where at your friends hideout is.

Optimus and his team decided to take the eneregon.

They were stopped by 6 predacons.

So, you ordered your friends to attack the deceptions and protect your family.

They did so, but Megatron wanted to capture them even though he thought they never listened to his order, so he wanted to capture you.

And optimus wants to speak to you, and everyone wants to speak to you.

Oh boy... you're in trouble.

But you guys talk, and they agreed to pay attention to you.

You didn't want that.

You have friends who pay attention to you.

A few days pass.

Agent fowler said the predacons are allowed to stay.

Your friends and family get along each.

Then Bumblebee has a crush on lapis (I'll be writing Bumblebee x prediction reader lapis)

You meet your future self.

Then Megatron kidnapped you as an excrement, but you've been saved.

You have a lot of adventures.

You order your predacons if whenever you're sick or hurt, they have to follow optimus orders. early.

Your predictions don't speak cause they're shy, but they work it out.

You meet new autobots friends.

You met the rescue bots with bumblebee and lapis.

But that is when optimus and his team have to leave Earth.

Bumblebee got his voice back.

Then you say goodbye to them, but you know you'll meet again.

Years pass without autobots, but your friend predacons decided to stay here because this is their home.

You and your predacons discover there's more predacons on earth.

When you turn 8, you see starscream.

He said he wants you something that is very dangerous, but you refuse.

So, lapis attack starscream, then you lost your left arm.

You head to the hospital, and you were given a robot left arm that can shoot out Lazer beam like optimus and his team has.

You train a lot, fighting, disguise.

The predacons you found were under in the gaint cave.

So you took care of them, you discover more and more about them and study them a lot.

You use the journal to write about them and give them names.

But you still wonder if you remember optimus said that predacons used to live cybertron.

But how did they get here? How did they find Earth? How did they get to earth? So many you thinking.

Now you're 13 years old, you did travel a lot.

You sometimes visit the old base that we're destroyed by Megatron.

You miss the old times.

You make your own suit like Iron Man movie.

You make some weapons.

You keep searching more predacons if their alive.

That is where you and your friend predacons meet Bumblebee and optimus.

You're so happy to see them.

You found out bumblebee has a team.

You explained to them what just happened and how you lost your arm.

They're were mad at starscream but happy that you're okay.

Then you meet the rescue bot again.

You actually went to time and met your younger self.

Summary thoughts: this was really good and I like that MW has taken the time to address the NE fallout before moving on to whatever is coming next, I'm mostly just excited for that whatever-comes-next now. I didn't expect this story to still be focused on the same planet, but it's cool that it was! And now we're moving on with more machine intelligences and rogue secunits in play!! And they mentioned the comfortunit from artificial condition so hopefully that'll come back into play soon as well! I feel like something is building up wrt construct rights in the setting and I'm very excited to see that, but in the meantime I loved getting this familiar romp through MB having a very bad day and working through its emotions while also trying not to die. And it was fun having the twist on the usual formula with things being so isolated and it having to handle everything while being off its game, it felt a lot more tense than some of the other entries just by virtue of the fact that MB's narration was so much less confident than usual, and it made it really nice to hear the fire come back to its voice once we hit that point in the story. 11/10 as usual I love this bot so goddamn much

I am about 85% sure I haven't posted this before, but if I have, well you get to see it again. Tumblr, where the running joke is I can't find my writing on my own blog. Perfect!

ART and MB banter in this one. No real warnings other than fluff. A sweater is briefly mentioned.

I expected to get shot by the terrified humans on this backwater mining installation. According to ART’s extensive records, these people had been trapped here for at least two generations, under the rule of some corporation that had gone out of business in the intervening years.

“According to corporate correspondence, they would’ve been threatened with punishment-by-SecUnit,” the transport informed me while I leaked on the pristine floor of its asteroid-traversing shuttle. At least it didn’t ask about how I was feeling, which would’ve been redundant given that the asshole was practically riding my feed down here.

Seth and Iris stood just outside the shuttle’s open cargo bay doors. I could hear their voices as they tried to negotiate with the frightened miners. This was technically a rescue operation and one that had been going fine until I got shot. The shooting had been accidental — shaky human hands should really never be in possession of weapons — but once the miners saw that I wasn’t an augmented human, the whole charade broke down.

Seth was doing his best to reassure the people here that he (and the rest of the crew) wanted to help. Iris, who had taken the shooting personally, was pissed that one of her crew-mates got injured. Never mind that the damage was minimal, and I was still watching media in the background.

“Tell your sibling to back off.” I sent ART a segmented view from my drone cameras with added metadata. “The miners are getting agitated.”

“Iris doesn’t listen to me any more than you do.”

“ART,” I hissed under my breath.

The transport did the feed-equivalent of a shrug and sent me a snippet of conversation between itself and Iris. And it wasn’t wrong in its assessment. I grumbled as I pulled off the sweater the Mensah children had “sewn” for me using one of ART’s recyclers. I didn’t want to deploy my arm cannons in any way that might damage their handiwork because I was apparently sentimental. Stupid organic neural tissue.

“I’ve notified Seth about the possible weapon scans.”

“They’re going to attack,” I told it. “I’ve cataloged those postures before. Any chance your crew will just drop the negotiation and depart before then?”

The transport did its shrug again. “Nope.”

“Lovely. Odds are good I’ll leak on your floors again.”

“I can handle it,” ART informed me. “Just keep them safe. And yourself.”

“I’ll be fine.”

It was silent for 4 seconds while I took up a position to the right of Iris, where I could easily shield her should the shooting start earlier than predicted. Then, it added, “I want you to come back alive. I like watching media with you.”

“ART, bad timing.”

“It’s never bad timing to tell someone you care,” it shot back quicker than the bot had any right to be.

My organic parts did something entirely uncomfortable and were frankly still doing it when the firefight began.

I hope you could write one day about Genji joining Zenyatta. I know you wrote how they met, but I mean like, Genji finally joining Zenyatta and after some time and gaining his trust, Genji opens up and shares stuff from his past (like what does he meant when he said "rescued again" and basically his deal with overwatch, his life before ow and Angela)

I feel like Genji opening up about Angela and Overwatch wouldn’t happen until later, but Genji actually making the decision to travel with Zenyatta is a conversation I’d like to explore!!

Genji’s strength returned to him slowly over the next few days. While his time wandering in the desert seemed to stretch the minutes into hours, his own weakness and exhaustion seemed to make the sun wheel rapidly overhead now. The Banu Tufayl were exceedingly, almost painfully hospitable. Using Zenyatta as a translator, Genji attempted to tell them that he would repay their generosity when he was able to make it to the nearest town, but they insisted (also through Zenyatta) that no payment was necessary--the only thing they required of him was the assurance that he could continue to journey safely. The encampment was full of children and the elderly, and no small amount of omnics, a few standard biped units, but also a noticeable amount of desert combat units, squat and tank-like with glittering solar panels, some with dune-buggy like wheels and others able to shift from bipedal to quadripedal movement at ease with wide, flat, hands and feet. Genji absentmindedly watched as several children laughed and clambered all over a patient, SUV-sized camel spider-like omnic that made lowing, chortling noises as the children scrambed up and down its plated back. Despite the size of the omnics, something about the gentle way they carried themselves and looked to the children made Genji feel acutely aware of how remote and vulnerable the whole group was out here--nothing but shifting dunes and the massive bowl of the sky overhead around them...nothing like the Swiss-mountain nestled fortress of the Zurich headquarters. 

“This tribe broke off from a larger one shortly after the Omnic crisis,” a calm voice spoke and Genji flinched to attention to see Zenyatta gently floating up alongside him, “To my knowledge it is one of the few tribes in the area to welcome omnics into their community. In fairness, not everywhere is as liberal as Numbani or Oasis, and the Qu’ran states that human life can only be created organically through copulation, so I understand other tribes’ hesitation.”

“You’re Muslim?” Genji tilted his head.

“No, but I believe one must make a point of looking at different faiths of the world before they go about touting their own as a path to enlightenment,” said Zenyatta.

“...so you’re a holy man,” said Genji. Holy bot? he thought.

“I make no such claims. If anything, I would call myself a pilgrim. Are you a pilgrim as well, Genji Shimada?”

Genji flinched. “I never told you my family name,” he said warily.

“Oh?” Zenyatta’s head lifted slightly, “Well, much knowledge can be found in the Iris.”

Genji tensed slightly.

“Much knowledge can also be found by rifling through your bag and looking through your comm as well,” Zenyatta added coyly.

“...definitely not a holy man,” said Genji, folding his arms.

“We needed to know if there was someone we should contact in case you never woke up,” said Zenyatta.

Angela, Genji thought on reflex but he tamped that thought down. He looked back at the children clambering over the insectoid omnic. “So what now?”

“That depends. Why did you head out into this desert?” asked Zenyatta.

“...that’s not your concern,” said Genji.

“When you save a life, you become responsible for that life. It is very much my concern,” said Zenyatta.

Genji looked over at Zenyatta, his phrasing catching him off-guard. Not ‘I saved you so you owe me answers’ but ‘I saved you so I can’t let you go get yourself killed all over again.’ It almost reminded him of Mercy’s persistence when it came to his health.

“...I don’t know what my purpose is,” said Genji, “I hoped to find my place in the world by traveling through it.” 

“You believe the answer exists outside yourself?” said Zenyatta.

“Look at me!” the response came out of Genji louder and more flinching than he anticipated, “I don’t know if I’m man or machine! I don’t know if my body’s my own! When I look in the mirror, all I see is pain and unanswered questions.”

Zenyatta couldn’t exactly emote, but something about the way he simply stared and floated there told Genji he took his emotional response with the same calmness as everything else Genji had said.

“I--” Genji caught himself, “Sorry, I just... can’t stand it when people act like... like there’s nothing wrong with me. People pretending they don’t see it... it’s almost worse than the stares.”

“I’m not pretending about anything,” Zenyatta said plainly, “Your body is unusual, but neither of us has anything to gain from my commenting on it unless you seek my thoughts on it. Do you seek to have someone else define your own body for you?”

“I--” Genji stammered, “I... umm...”

“But I suppose the real question is, if you could not find the answer in a mirror, what made you think you would find it in the middle of a desert?”

“Well...” Genji hesitated, “I... I knew I wasn’t going to find it just staying where I was.”

“I see,” said Zenyatta, “And why carry swords in this journey of self-discovery? Do you believe you will find your purpose in a fight?” 

Genji’s hand instinctively went up to Ryū Ichimonji’s handle at its mention, but he caught himself, not touching it. “You’ll find out what you’re meant to do in this world and it won’t be killing,” he remembered Mercy’s words. But at the same time, he could never leave the Ryū Ichimonji behind--it was a part of him. His hand lowered. “I just... I wasn’t going to travel without anything to protect myself,” he murmured.

“So you do value your own life,” said Zenyatta, apparently pleasantly surprised, “That’s good.” 

“...and you’re traveling without anything to protect yourself because... you’re on a pilgrimage?” said Genji, hesitantly.

“I never said I was defenseless,” said Zenyatta.

Genji examined the bright yellow of Zenyatta’s clothes. “So where are you going?” he asked.

“Would you like to go with me?” asked Zenyatta.

“Not if I don’t know where you’re going,” said Genji.

“Really? And where was the end-point of your journey of self-discovery?” said Zenyatta.

Genji opened his mouth to speak but then caught himself. 

Zenyatta chuckled. “Frankly, I would be concerned if there was an end point,” he said.

“But do you have an end-point at all?” said Genji.

“Well... I suppose eventually I will have to return to Nepal,” Zenyatta said thoughtfully, “But when you are looking for something, you do not bound where you are looking to a single place--you simply keep moving and keep looking until you find it, correct?”

“Nepal...” Genji repeated thoughtfully, “You’re Shambali?”

“...technically, yes,” said Zenyatta glancing off. There was a flatness to his voice that caught Genji off-guard. This was the closest Zenyatta had come to sounding annoyed. He seemed to recompose himself. “But the purpose of my journey is not to spread the Shambali’s dogma--I am searching for its place in the world, like you are searching for yours.”

Genji scoffed a bit. “It has its place. At the top of best-seller book lists and with omnics shoving flowers in your face at airports--” Genji caught himself, “I mean... no offense.” 

Zenyatta glanced down, “Yes... it would appear that way, wouldn’t it?” he said, sounding a bit defeated.

“What I’m saying is, not everyone’s problems can be solved by going on about an ‘Iris’ and meditating,” said Genji.

“I would expect not,” said Zenyatta.

“...you’re not going to defend it?” said Genji.

“Should I?” said Zenyatta, “I’m sure you’re aware that it is more complex than your impression of it, but as I said, I am traveling to find the Iris’s place in the world, if I simply treat it as a one-size-fits all solution to everyone’s problems, that would miss the point. That is why I came out here,” he gestured at the camel spider omnic, now lifting one of its forelegs to let a child hang upside-down by his knees from it, giggling and chattering, “None of these omnics are Shambali, but they have found peace, family, and community, not through dogma, but through kindness, connection, and humility.”

“Don’t the Shambali talk about that sort of stuff?” said Genji. He had never really cracked a Shambali book, but ‘kindness, connection, and humility’ all seemed like Shambali fare.

“In trying to demonstrate to humans that we have the equivalent of a soul, I feel that Omnics have attempted to make the Shambali the equivalent of a religion, to tell humans ‘we have the answers’--even though, because they made us, no matter how high our processing speed, we don’t have any more answers about our place in the universe than they do. We have structure, yes, we have purpose, and people embrace that--perhaps they embrace it because our omnic-ness makes it novel---but I don’t think Omnics will find their place among humans purely by mimicking them.”

Genji huffed. “Maybe it was all the dehydration,” he started slowly, “But it almost feels as though you not having the answers is more comforting.”

“Oh?” Zenyatta glanced over at him.

“...I’m not sure if I can say I’ve gone through my whole life with people telling me what to do... but I have gone through it with these... systems... that swallowed up every part of my being, and when I couldn’t cope with those systems, I’d fall into hedonism or rage...First my family, then O--” he caught himself, “Then my work. There was a time... there was... someone... who made me feel like I believed in that work but when things started falling apart, I realized I was just clinging to her like a ship’s mast in a storm and that wasn’t fair to her. Even when I was walking through the desert I was--” he caught himself, “How different would the Shambali be from that?” he said quietly, “One more thing, one more person, one more system that I convince myself will show me my place in the world.” 

“Cycles of self. Cycles of belief. Cycles of rejection. Cycles of suffering,” said Zenyatta, “I hope to find the same answer about the Shambali myself.” He paused for a few seconds before saying, “I hope you will not find this invasive or rude, but I do believe we should travel together. I think there is much I can learn from you.” 

“You can learn--!” Genji started, “I just said that I don’t know what the hell I’m doing!”

“I’m aware,” said Zenyatta, “I believe you can learn as well.”

“From you?” said Genji.

“From your travels. From your observations. From your heart. You may ask my perspective if you so choose, but if you prefer, I can just be there to make sure you don’t pass out in the middle of a desert again.” 

“’When you save a life you become responsible for that life,’ right?” said Genji with a slight chuckle, “Is that a Shambali proverb?”

“Actually it’s mostly been attributed to David Carradine in the 1975 television show ‘Kung Fu.’ Carradine later died from autoerotic asphyxiation.”

“...you’re definitely not a holy man,” said Genji.

“I never said I was,” said Zenyatta, “However, I can be a friend, if that’s what you need.”

Genji looked back at the smattering of tents around them, the laughter and chatter of Arabic and Amharic and Omnicode, the golden dunes, some of which only barely hid that unreachable horizon. 

“I could use a friend,” said Genji.

Hizashi still can't believe that even after 15 years, he still felt this way. But then again...

“I tried to get into U.A,” Eraser began. He and Hizashi sat in the small office, each with a cup of water. Both deciding it wasn’t best to have caffeine with everything that just happened moment earlier.

The dark haired man could still feel the warmth from the blonde’s hands when they held his face.

“You told me that part,” Hizashi said softly. He was smiling softly as he listened.

“I...wasn’t like this when I started out. I was fast, I mean I didn’t get tired out. But I wasn’t, athletic,” he admitted, brows furrowing some. “It was a lot more intense than I thought it would have been. I took a fall, and somebody tried to knock down a robot at the same time.”

Hizashi nodded as he paid attention, and slowly slipped his water. His stomached ached a bit. But to be expected, Eraser said he was gone for almost two days. So that was about how long he was stuck in that cell. No water, no food. He could feel himself shake still, but he’d ignore it for now.

“I was...I thought I was going to get crushed,” Eraser continued, hand running through his hair, getting stuck on some knot before he let his hand fall, giving up on carrying out the motion. “Then, another guy showed up. All he had to do was let out a yell, and took out like ten bots.”

Green eyes welled with new tears. H-holy shit. It WAS him.

It was…

Eraser was--

“I-I hate to admit it but I...I was really amazed,” he sighed and grumbled a bit. “And jealous.”

Hizashi couldn’t stop the laugh the came out. He got a glare from the other. “H-hey sorry just,” he laughed again. “I...wasn’t trying to show you up, really.”

Those dark eyes blinked, before widening as his words registered with him.

“Ya know,” Hizashi picked up again. “I...I always felt like I knew you from somewhere. Like even before we ran into each other all those years ago. I was just, I swear I know this guy.” He took another small sip. “Heh, I remember when I started school, I would go look for you.”

“Look for? But I--”

“I was pretty sure you didn’t get into the Hero Course, but I thought you might have taken up to be part of the GenEd. I mean...that’s where other students who didn't score high enough got into.”

Eraser looked almost...ashamed.

“I swear, I was this close from getting expelled ‘cause I annoyed the GenEd teachers so much for constantly peeking in. And whenever they’d asked who I was looking for, all I could do was just...try to describe you.”

“Why did you want to find me?”

Hizashi could feel himself flush a bit. Why? Well, HE knew why, but would Eraser believe it? He shrugged a bit. “I felt like I needed to.”

“Needed to?”

Ah crap he didn’t sound convinced. “...doubt you’d believe me even if I say it.”

“Try me.”

Green eyes locked with his. Hizashi could see that...Eraser’s iris and pupils seemed to blur into one another. He swallowed as he recalled those pages from the little journal. He...he--

“It was love at first sight.”

It was cold. Colder than he could remember it ever being. Then he heard it.

A scream.

Usually screams weren’t that uncommon to be heard here. He knew this.

But that scream was new. He never remember hearing--

His eyes widened as he scrambled to the door. Pushing himself up onto his toes to peek through the small window.

No no no please no no. Not him! He shouldn’t--why? Why would he!?

He wanted to yell. Cry. Beg.

He saw that same bright blonde hair, now a mess due to a hand tangling in it as the young boy was dragged.

He-he shouldn't!

Fists pounded against his door. He shouted. He begged. His hands started to grow numb but he didn’t stop. It was all playing so clearly. He watched as the boy was thrown into a cell.

And he was now outside of his. He rushed down the hall...which continued to stretch and stretch; putting him further and further back. Never letting him reach the blonde.

H-he wanted to be a hero…

He want to save him.

He wanted--

His eyes snapped open as he found himself nearly gulping lungfuls of air. He froze as he felt finger gently brush back sweat slick hair from his face. Soon he heard it. That gentle and soothing voice. Eye darting up to see the other sitting up in the cramped bed. Green eyes watching his, he swears he could see some kind of emotion in them...affection? He couldn’t be sure.

‘It was love at first sight.’

"You okay now?"

He felt himself nod before he realized it. "...why are you trying to help?"

The blonde shrugged. "I want to."

"...there’s more to it than that. There’s always is."

A warm laugh echoed through the small cell. "You really are too logical," he smiled. "You make me think." Another laugh broke out at the look the eraser user gave him. "Also," he began as those fingers once again brushed through his hair. "I...coulda tried harder to find you…"

‘It was love at first sight.’

Silence fell between them, but the gentle touches didn’t stop. He found himself nearly melting into them. Hizashi didn’t seem to mind just giving him the attention without anything in return.

"A-are you feeling better?" He asked, eyes were started to droop as he was slowly being lulled back to sleep.

"You were the one who woke up screamin--"

"I mean...you were locked in for two days," Eraser cut him off.

Hizashi smiles fondly. "I’m alright...tired still and I think I’m still a bit dehydrated…"

Eraser huffed as he pushed himself up, pushing Hizashi’s hands away. "Lemme get you something to drink…then sleep."

"I’ll be fine. Just lay back down, alright?"

He stared at the blonde; who refused to move, before sighing and laid back down. "Fine...you’re pretty stubborn."

"Coming from you, I think that’s almost a compliment."

He huffed some. "Wait...why are you in my bed?"

Hizashi snickered. "NOW you ask….yeah, sorry but I think I’m turned off of staying in any room here alone after that."

"There was a cot set up in the office...it doesn’t have a door."

"Can’t I just...wanna be close to you?"

Eraser felt his face heat at the admission. "Why?"

‘It was love at first sight.’

The blonde shrugged.

He stared at the blonde. Wanting to press further, to get an answer, but when he started to comb through his hair with his fingers again, he felt sleep tugging at his mind again. “You leaving tomorrow?”

Hizashi hummed softly. “Probably should...but I’ll stop by soon enough. I want to help you.”

“Because you love me?” He still wasn’t sure how that was possible. The blonde barely knew him. How could he justify a feeling as strong as that.

A cough of a laugh past through the blonde. “You’re mean…”

Eraser huffed, but could feel his lips slowly pull into a small smile, as he slowly found himself drifting back to sleep.

“H-he called in?” Nemuri blinked as she spoke with the radio station over the phone. Hizashi, called in saying he wasn’t going to be in? W-was the case really going to take him that long?

Hizashi...what are you doing?

“Ain’t there?”

She glanced over to the homing hero. Hesitating slightly, she shook her head. She didn’t want to believe it. But, this was just becoming too suspicious of the Voice hero.

First his feeling about the USJ trip.

Now his sudden departure from the summer training camp. Along with this impromptu absent from the station? She knew Hizashi HATED cancelling. He’d wear himself to the bone and run on caffeine for several days if that meant he could keep his promises.

She didn’t want to think it...but the signs were becoming apparent.

Hizashi...Hizashi just might be the traitor.

A/N: I know the proposition of the chance of a traitor in U.A. isn't mentioned till after the Rescue!Bakugo arc-so for all questions I'm going to say that Hizashi presented this theory after the USJ incident. Think it would be a bit more justified for people to not believe him vs not believing him after the training camp incident.

Korotan C Rough Summary/Synopsis (Part 5)

In case some are anxious, not yet people, it's not over yet. Rest assured, I intend to go through with this little project to the end. I hate unfinished stories.

Also, if any aren't aware, Korotan D is now a thing! Furthermore, @blazardragon has already got Chapter 1 of its light novel sections translated! In addition, I have to thank her for the proofreading, since I don’t have access to the Japanese text myself. I am doing this off of a Chinese fan translation after all.

I also have a translation of the short sample of Korotan D that's available on the official website here, though I can't spare much more effort on that book beyond this.

Previously on Korotan C: Princess Lea of Norgo Kingdom visits Kunugigaoka for a Debate Rally, but she’s decided to sneak out of her hotel and into the city. But when one hitman after another come for her life, it's up to Class 3-E and Asano Gakushuu to be her bodyguards and escort her to safety.

Chapter 5

The next phase of the escort plan is to switch their mode of transport from bus to train. This time, the group with the still-disguised Nakamura will go on the first train, while the one with the real Lea goes second.

The escort guard will also be rearranged a little, and in case their appearances when they boarded the bus were seen by the hitmen, Karma suggests that Terasaka and Asano come along with him elsewhere away from the girls.

“No! I cannot agree to this.” Said Asano.

“Ha? Why?”

“I can agree to the baiting, but that doesn’t mean I can sit by and let the princess’ protection become slack. Not only can I do martial arts, I have escort skills as well, I am absolutely necessary for protecting her!”

Karma makes an evil grin at what he hears, and deliberately raised his volume. “Ah~ah, if Asano-kun said so, I guess there’s no helping it. After all, you did just promise the princess that you’ll always be together in the future~”

“Seriously!!?” exclaimed Maehara.

“Akabane! Do not say that in such an easily misunderstood way!” retorted Asano, but by then it’s already too late, as the Class E students huddle around him with words of praise and well-wishes.

“They’re already a pair? That’s incredible, as expected of Asano-kun.” “Congratulations!!”

Asano is close to fainting from this sudden development. Lea carries a faint smile as she looks at him, her cheeks slightly red.

“Not only does the princess have a big chest, her face also looks like that of an honour student, she’s way too sexy.”

But Okajima’s words immediately killed the jubilant atmosphere, and both boys and girls gave him a dismissive look. And after Karma translated his words to Lea, all of the girls shouted “how lewd!!” in unison. Seeing how even the princess is angered, Okajima can only hang his head in shame, shoulders slumped.

All of a sudden, Nagisa received a text from Kataoka. In order to gather intelligence on the background of the princess’ assassins, Takebayashi and Fuwa have infiltrated the embassy. There they stumbled upon Irina. “Huh? Why is B*tch-sensei at the embassy??”

Hearing Nagisa exclaim in surprise, everyone wondered just who got in contact with her, and that she got inside way too quickly. At Isogai’s behest, Nagisa sent back a response asking for further details.

The scene switches over to the train platform. Nakamura’s decoy team have already boarded a train bound for the city centre, and now Lea’s team is waiting for the next one heading in the embassy’s direction. Accompanying her are Asano and Nagisa; Isogai and Maehara will head for the carriage in front of them, while Muramatsu and Yoshida will head for the carriage behind.

As they sit and wait, Lea points out how there’re so many passengers. Tokyo is so populated. Asano worries that they can’t keep their guard up against all of them, but Nagisa reassures them that he’s pretty good at sensing the aura of people nearby, so just leave it to him.

When the train arrives at the station, after Nagisa’s group have boarded, Isogai and Muramatsu exchanged glances and their groups followed on.

With all the seats occupied, Nagisa’s group opt to stand by the door. Lea silently looks at the passing scenery outside, while Asano advises her not to stick so close to the window and pulled her closer to him.

Nagisa suddenly whispered and asked “Say, just what is it?” Though he’s aware that he asked him about something, he just gave him his usual quick sharp gaze before turning his attention elsewhere. As he turns, Nagisa could sense that there’s an obvious fluctuation in the wavelength of Asano’s conscious. Aiming for the peak of the fluctuation, Nagisa looked to Asano’s eyes and asked once more.

“Hey, Asano-kun, what is it about Princess Lea that caught your eye?”

Having been attacked while his guard was down, Asano’s mind went blank for a moment and gave an answer without thinking.

“I was shocked to hear her call me a boring person.”

As soon as he said it, Asano immediately regrets that he blabbed out something calamitous.

“Wha!? … that’s normally not a reason to like someone now is it?” Nagisa is shocked and flabbergasted at Asano’s unintended confession. Despite being the one to ask the question, he's now feeling flustered at what he got, and conversely Asano who gave the answer is looking intimidating with a terrifyingly angry expression.

“I get it, I won’t tell anybody. Your face tells me that if I do, you’ll massacre me at school.”

“[Hey, what are you guys talking about? It looks fun, use English~]”

As Lea pouts at their exchange of words, Nagisa shudders as he senses some bloodlust behind him. Turning around, he sees that their owner is a man wearing a trench coat and a knit cap, standing behind them (but not directly) with his back turned.

When he relayed his discovery to his companions, Asano had a bit of doubt, but he can see that Nagisa’s gaze now is completely different from he was messing around before. With both his iris fully opened and gleaming, Nagisa’s look sends a shiver down Asano’s spine.

Pondering if they should call for support, Nagisa reaches for his phone, when Asano stops him. “Based on his stance, he’s probably waiting for a chance to perform the assassination. If we do anything rash, we’ll just leave ourselves open. Do you have anything for writing?”

From Nagisa’s pocket is his Korosensei’s Weaknesses notepad and pencil, plus the chewing gum he had just received from Korosensei. The notepad is too small for what Asano had in mind.

From Lea’s purse is a white handkerchief and a pink lipstick. Sufficient for his objective, Asano laid the handkerchief on Nagisa’s back and used the lipstick to write some big words on it. “There’s no need for us to directly confront him.”

Reading what he wrote, Nagisa immediately understood Asano’s intent. “We just need to stick this on his back, right? I’ll do it, I’m pretty good at this stuff.”

“What’re you going to do?”

Giving Asano a quick smile, Nagisa took the handkerchief, and opened the packaging on the chewing gum. After placing it in his mouth, he starts moving alone past the clusters of passengers towards the knit cap man, his head low and wearing a smile.

“[Is it alright to let Nagisa go alone?]” Lea was about to follow after him but was stopped by Asano.

“[We mustn’t make any sudden movements, or we’ll be discovered immediately. Look, he’s not deliberately avoiding anyone while moving, and yet no one has noticed him. He’s concealing his own presence.]”

Passing by the knit cap man from the side, Nagisa slowly lifted his hand, and used the chewing gum to stick the handkerchief onto his back. The assassin noticed nothing at all, and just continued to stand there. Nagisa smiles as he returns to Asano and Lea, the former getting chills just watching him.

“There shouldn’t be any problems now, it should take effect soon.”

Asano just stares at Nagisa with an incredulous look on his face.

“…just what are y-”

“Pfft” A young man on the seats snorted out a laughter, with a lady next to him trying to hold in a giggle herself. As though laughter is infectious, snickers filled the whole carriage, with everyone looking towards the knit cap man.

“[We can get off of the next station.]” Nagisa whispered, to which Lea lightly nodded.

The knit cap man finally realised the state of the carriage, and that the surrounding passengers are all sneaking in looks at him. He lowered his bloodlust towards the movements of Lea’s company as much as possible, but even so, the feeling of being bathed in attention hasn’t faded at all. With the laughter getting louder and louder, the assassin became more and more panicked, he now has no way of carrying out an assassination.

“It’s working Asano-kun! Let’s get off at the next station.”

The train slowly pulls into its next station and comes to a halt. The doors on Lea’s side opened, and with plenty of passengers pouring in, the signal for the next journey started to ring. When the doors prepare to close, Nagisa got off in time, followed by Asano.

But when he looked back at the closing doors, Lea was still in the car. Using his body to block the doors, he reached for Lea’s hand and pulled her out of the train, rescuing her before it took off again.

“It’s because you didn’t explain things properly that that happened!” Asano angrily glared at Nagisa.

“I’m sorry, I did try to convey it to her…”

“What did you say?”

“[We can get off of the next station]. Like that.”

“That’s too vague! [We have to get off at the next station.] It should be like that.”

“[I’m sorry.]” Nagisa apologised to them both.

“[It’s okay Nagisa, in fact that was very exciting.]”

Lea just noticed that her hand is still in Asano’s grasp, her face turning red. They both pulled back their hands at the same time.

“[So what was written on the handkerchief?]”

“[‘I’m currently on my first errand’, like that.]”

“[Well you do have a gift for humour after all~]” Hearing such praises, Asano feels that he’s recovered some points from earlier before.

(TN: First Errand, AKA Hajimete no Otsukai, is a reality variety show that follows different kids as they go about their first errand alone (with very minimal supervision), like going to a shop and buy something back home. You can imagine how nasty a prank Asano’s note is now.)

After Asano contacted the Nakamura team that went before them, as well as their other escorts whom are still on their train, everyone gathers once more.

The kids find it vexing that they can’t shake off their pursuers, whether by bus or train. Taxis are a no-go as well, there’s too little room for movement should anything happen.

Karma then brings up something that he finds strange: the assassins thus far have been easily fended off by them, and yet these same unremarkable assassins have perfectly and effortlessly grasped their movements. Such a mismatch is rather curious.

He had given the possibility of tracking devices some thought, but Lea had already switched out her clothes. Maybe her belongings then?

Aside from her lipstick, mirror and phone, nothing else is in Lea’s purse. Believing that her phone is worth examining, he suggests that they try installing Mobile Ritsu inside of it.

On Nagisa’s inquiry, she tells him that because she’s stored on the memory card, they just need to place one onto the designated phone to perform the install. He also asks her that if she should discover tracking software or anything suspicious, let them and Kataoka’s investigation team know about it.

As instructed, Nagisa then took out the memory card from his own phone and placed into Lea’s, explaining to her that it’s to check if it had been hijacked.

Meanwhile, Asano is getting anxious. They have to move soon, even if they have to walk.

“What about this?” Yoshida was checking something a short distance away, and confidently returns with a bike.

(TN: Apparently, bike rental services in Japan are often located near railway stations and landing points for ships and ferries for easy access)

“Bikes huh? Not bad, and the speed is good, let’s use this!” acclaimed Karma, with Asano likewise nodding.

“Alright! Let’s head to the embassy on bikes!!”

“Look, there’s plenty more to borrow over there,” pointed Yoshida. As the Class E students gather with their bikes, Asano brings his over to Lea.

“[Do you want to sit behind me?]”

“[Yes!!]” Lea strongly nodded at Asano’s suggestion.

The riders begin their advance, with Asano and Lea in the centre and Nagisa and others in the perimeter. With Mobile Ritsu’s guidance, they deliberate chose roads with plenty of traffic, and as they get further away from the station, they accelerated their pace.

“Man, this feels great!” Yoshida exclaimed happily. Now on a slope, their speed increased, and cars passed them by in the cold winter air.

“So cold!” cried Muramatsu. Behind him is Asano, with Lea leaning her hand atop his shoulder, her face brimming with a smile and her blue iris dazzling under the sunlight.

“[This is so much fun!!]” she shouted, as the bike squad ride past the slope like the wind.

(TN: A side thought post-translation regarding the Hajimete no Otsukai prank.

My instincts tell me that Lea probably isn’t referring to the show itself. Perhaps, “hajimete no otsukai” is probably so well known among the Japanese populace by now that people like author Kuma Ataro probably thought that the concept of “first errand” applies the same way anywhere in the world. 

That, or he didn’t think that far ahead when he wrote the joke and is therefore an oversight, though minor in the scheme of things)
