That time the Warwicks harassed a mentally ill woman into marrying one of their princes is almost as bad as the time they married an 18-year-old girl to a 22-year-old man.

“I see a lot of criticism of the style of Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark, calling it "sloppy". For me, the princess gives off an image of comfort, as she reminds me of my grandmother.” - Text & Image Submitted by cenacevedo15

Royal Godparents to Royal Godchildren
I did this list back in 2012, and got some great responses. I've updated and edited parts of the list. Again, any corrections and/or adds, message me! Thanks in advance!
When choosing godparents for their children, the parents often chose friends or other relatives. Often in royal circles, royals also pick other royals. Here’s a partial list. (Yes, I know some lists are incompelte as some of these royals’s godchildren are not royals themselves.) If you have any additions, please feel free to message me!

Τα μεν γαρ άλλα δεύτερα αν πάσχη γυνή, ανδρός δ’ αμαρτάνουσα, αμαρτάνει βίου.* - Euripides *Other misfortunes are secondary for a woman, but if she loses her husband, she loses her life.
Queen Anne-Marie of Greece is the widow of the late King Constantine II of Greece, who reigned from 1964 until 1973. She was born Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark on 30 August 1946.
Anne-Marie is the youngest daughter of King Frederick IX of Denmark and his wife Ingrid of Sweden. She is the youngest sister of the reigning Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and cousin of the reigning King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
In 1961, she spent a year at an English boarding school in Switzerland - the Chatelard School for Girls. In 1963, to improve her French, Queen Anne-Marie attended a Swiss finishing school, 'Le Mesnil', until the Spring of 1964. She also speaks Greek, English and of course Danish.
Queen Anne-Marie first met King Constantine of Greece as a young girl in 1959, when he visited Copenhagen on a journey to Sweden and Norway, as Crown Prince, with his parents, King Paul I and Queen Frederica.
She met him again in Denmark in 1961. He had declared to his parents that he intended to marry her.
On 14 May, 1962, Crown Prince Constantine's elder sister, Princess Sophia, married the Spanish Prince Juan Carlos in a double ceremony in Athens at the Roman Catholic Cathedral and the Orthodox Cathedral.
More than 100 royal guests came to Athens, and Princess Anne-Marie was a bridesmaid. Queen Frederica of Greece recorded that, at the reception, her son Crown Prince Constantine 'would dance only with Anne-Marie'.
In 1963, centenary celebrations of the Greek Royal Family began with a State Visit from Princess Anne-Marie's parents, King Frederick and Queen Ingrid of Denmark.
In March 1964, King Paul I died after a short illness, and Constantine succeeded him to the Greek throne.
King Constantine came to the throne with much goodwill, which was expressed in abundance when, on 18 September 1964 (six months after his accession) he married his beautiful Danish Princess in what was described at the time, as 'the most radiant of Athenian royal weddings'. Even an old republican, the 76 year old Prime Minister, George Papandreou, was seen to be enjoying himself thoroughly with the bride and bridegroom.
Queen Anne-Marie devoted much of her time as Queen of Greece to 'Her Majesty's Fund'. This was a charitable foundation started by her mother-in-law, Queen Frederica. It helped people in rural areas of Greece and supported crafts such as embroidery and weaving. She also worked closely with the Red Cross, and various charities.
On 21 April, 1967, political problems in Athens intensified with the Colonel's coup. A month later, Queen Anne-Marie gave birth to Crown Prince Pavlos at the family's country estate, Tatoi.
In December, after his attempt to restore democracy failed, King Constantine and his family left Greece from Kavalla for Rome. With the King, the Queen and the two children were King Constantine's mother, Queen Frederica and his younger sister Princess Irene. They landed at a military airport in Italy because they were running out of fuel.
Queen Anne-Marie and her family stayed first at the Greek Embassy in Rome for 2 months and then took a house at Olgiata on the outskirts of the city.
Later in 1968, they moved to 13, Via di Porta Latina - where they lived until 1973. On 1 October 1969, Queen Anne-Marie gave birth to Prince Nikolaos in the Villa Claudia Clinic near her home in Rome.
In 1974, Queen Anne-Marie moved with King Constantine to England, after a brief stay with her mother in Denmark. King Constantine had been officially deposed by the military Government on 1 June 1973 and a Republic declared by colonel Papadopoulos.
The family's first home was in Chobham in Surrey. Then they moved to a house in Hampstead in North London, where they have lived ever since. Queen Anne-Marie calls it her 'Home away from home'.
Queen Anne-Marie's family grew larger with the birth of Princess Theodora at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, in London on 9 June 1983, and Prince Philippos on 26 April 1986.
Queen Anne-Marie helped to start this remarkable bilingual educational initiative in 1980. She is now Honorary Chairman of the school, and devotes a lot of her time to it.
Her first visit to Greece since she left with her family in 1967, was for a few hours, for the funeral of King Constantine's mother, Queen Frederica, in 1981.
Queen Frederica died suddenly in Madrid. Her wish had been to be buried beside her husband, King Paul, at the family estate at Tatoi. The family was given permission to attend - but could not spend a night in their country. They landed at a little airfield near Tatoi, and were welcomed by large crowds. It was, for Queen Anne-Marie and her family, a moving and sad occasion.
She visited Greece again with King Constantine and her family on a private visit by sea in 1993. They went, 'Not knowing what to expect. Wherever we went, people came out to greet us. It was extraordinary and very moving'. It was the first visit for her younger children.
In 2013, The Greek government allowed the ex-monarch to come back to Greece. Constantine returned to reside in Greece. He and his wife Anne-Marie purchased a villa in Porto Cheli, Peloponnese, residing there until they relocated to Athens in the spring of 2022
Wherever they were in the world, Queen Anne-Marie was a constant source of support and stability not just for her exiled husband but also their five children. She made sure that the family spoke Greek at home with all her children learning to be fluent.
She was the one also the family retained close links with all the royal families of Europe - and particularly with the British, Spanish and Danish Royal Families.
Queen Anne-Marie's father, King Frederik IX of Denmark was an accomplished musician and she has inherited his love of classical music - Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikowsky, Wagner. She has always been fascinated by historical biographies.
She had been, above all, the greatest support to her husband over many years of change. They had been happily married for 58 years until the King Constantine II died on 10th January 2023. She remains the last Queen of Greece.

This is a very interesting group of Royal guests assembled for the wedding of the parents of the future Phillip, Duke of Edinburg: Princess Alice of Battenberg (1885 - 1969) to Prince Andrew of Greece (1882 - 1944.) The wedding was celebrated at Darmstadt in 1903. I doubt I will be able to identify all these illustrious guests, but I will list the ones I recognize. There are representatives here from the Greek, Danish, German/Hessian/Prussian, and Russian Royal Houses. I count thirty-three adults and children in this picture.
Prince Heinrich of Prussia
Princess Heinrich of Prussia (nee Irene of Hesse)
Grand Duke Sergey Alexandrovich Romanov
Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna
Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig of Hesse
Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna the Younger
Grand Duke Dmitry Pavlovich
Grand Duke George Mikhailovich
Grand Duchess Maria Georgevna
Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicholaevna
Grand Duchess Tatiana Nicholaevna
Princess Elizabeth of Hesse and by Rhine
Grand Duchess Olga Nicholaevna
Grand Duchess Maria Nicholaevna
Emperor Nicholas II
Empress Alexandra Feodorovna
Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark (Greek Nicky)
Prince George of Greece and Denmark (Greek Georgie
Queen Olga of the Hellenes
Prince Valdemar of Denmark
King Hakoon VII
There are roughly thirteen royalties I do not recognize, so if you identify anybody I haven't, please let me know. It is also possible I have made some incorrect identifications, especially among the Greek contingent.
This type of gathering stopped happening gradually, so these photos are treasures!

Former King Constantine II of Greece has died aged 82
The last King of Greece died today, three days after suffering a massive stroke in Athens.
King Constantine was a brother in law to Queen Margrethe of Denmark and King Juan Carlos of Spain. He was also closely related to the British royal family through his cousin, the late Duke of Edinburgh. Constantine was godfather to Prince William.
He is survived by his wife, Queen Anne Marie, and their five children and numerous grandchildren, as well as his sisters Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Irene.

You seem to know about the greek royal family, I read something about Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark being engaged to the future Frederick IX of Denmark and as I was reading the future Frederick IX of Denmark accidentally held one of her sisters hand while being presented to the crowd, may I know if you know which sister was that:? And why did princess olga suddenly cut of the engagement?
There's a lot of detail/background about it in "Princess Olga of Yugoslavia: Her Life and Times" by Robert Prentice, which quotes heavily from letters and diary entries from Olga and her family. Basically unbeknownst to Olga, the idea of her marry Frederick (Rico) had been semi-planned by the parents involved and so she was "accidentally" meeting him a lot. He proposed almost instantly, and at first Olga was excited about it. But their personalities were not a great match, and overly romantic and naive Olga thought he was being 'rough' and less attentive to her than she would like and 'had it out' with him, at which point he decided he didn't love her anymore and didn't want to marry her, but all the parents urged the two of them to act like nothing had happened and try meeting up again, hoping these misunderstandings could be overcome.
They met up again in Paris and had a conversation and while Olga was willing to try again, Rico was over it. She gave him back the engagement ring but was kind of annoyed with his lack of "tact" because before speaking with Olga herself, he had apparently spoken with Olga's sister Elizabeth and her uncle Christopher.
There was some drama, apparently, with Olga's parents believing her cousin Irene (daughter of Constantine, sister of Helen) had 'spoiled' her chances with Rico during his visit to Athens by presumably flirting with him or something? Irene always denied this.
Years later Olga claimed it was all her idea to break up with him and that she was horrified by his tattoos, but based on the letters and diaries at the time, it seemed to be more his doing. They got engaged too quickly and barely knew each other, and their personalities just weren't a good fit.
The book doesn't say anything about the accidentally holding the wrong hand part, but I feel like I have heard that before, too.

It seems like you like my questions! So I would like to ask what would you do if you are maria during the 1910s before ww1, what would you do for a week if you are them(Same question with anastasia!)
2. You seem to like the hessian sisters, so which one do you like the most
3.Do you like the Greek princesses , if you do which one is your fav?
hiiiii!!! I love that you love me loving your questions!! Ok this might take a while so brace yourselves lol!
Question 1 If I was Maria Nikolaevna in the 1910s what would I do: first I would definitely go give my father a hug because he is probably stressed and deserves it. Then i would go do some art with my left hand (Im actually left handed too!!!). Then i would right a letter checking on Dickie because I think that he has fallen for me and I want to politely decline him because Father dear would not like me to marry him. Then i would go stand up for myself and not allow my siblings to call me Fat Little Bow Wow. Then i would go use my kindness traits accordingly and be nice to the servants because they definitely deserve it.
Question 2 If I was Anastasia Nikolaevna in the 1910s what would I do: first I would go set up some pranks with Alexei because why not. Then i would throw a snow covered rock at Tatiana’s head because after all I am Shvybzik. Then i would go ride Alexei’s elephant (yes he actually had a pet elephant!) even though I have literally never done that before. Then i would go take some selfies in my mirror because this world moves to slow for me *flicks hair*. Then I will photobomb official portraits that Mama and Father are taking because I think that they would love to see their favorite daughter in their portraits.
Question 3 which Hessian sister do i like the best: this question is really hard because i love all of them so much! By process of elimination i would say that Victoria is not one of my favorites because she doesn’t really stick out that much but she is still really awesome! (And her baby photos are so cute!!!). I would have to say Ella is next on the list but Irene beat her by like 1%. Ella is beautiful and kind but i just like the other ones a little more. But if i discover new baby photos of any of these sisters, i will always love them and i do always love all of these sisters! Irene is probably the most underrated sister! People barely know her! She is so cute and i think when she gets older her smiles are nice! And tying in first place are………Alix and Marie (May). I know May died when she was little of diphtheria but i had to include her in here because she was so sweet and lovable and it is a tragedy that she died. And Alix is probably my fav overall because she has such a good personality to empathize with. She was so little when she lost her happy carefree childhood and she experienced a lot more pain as she grew up. But yeah, the margin between them all is very slim because I love them!
Question 4 Which Greek Princess is my favorite: okay i love the greek royal family! I dont really have them memorized after King Constantine I’s children (i have them memorized but once it gets into the modern greek royal family i kind of back up a bit). My favorite greek princess has to be hands down Princess Alexandra of Greece and Denmark (when she gets married she will become Grand Duchess Alexandra Georgievna) i love her because 1. She is the daughter of one of my fav Russian Grand Duchesses (besides OTMA) Olga Konstantinovna and looks just like her which i find awesome. She also had an awesome bubbly personality and was a risk taker! She also had the essence of beauty flowing around her (just like how people describe Tatiana Nikolaevna) . Sadly she died giving birth to her son Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich. If we are counting Olga Konstantinovna as a greek princess than she would also be my fav!
Thank you for asking me all these awesome questions!!! (Btw sorry this took kinda long to answer)
