#Inuyasha was likely born in December

Seems like more ppl are becoming aware of the actual calculated date for Inuyasha’s bday and here's a video I came across that basically restated the older post's content.
youtube
Inuyasha's Birthday is December 4th
Change my mind.
Ha! You can't unless it's a direct reference with proof from official merch by Rumiko.
I also like the fact that his age likely being around 200 was brought up cuz I had been reading newer fanfics and whatever at one point like last year and beforehand that all seemed to agree that Inuyasha was only in the 100s as far as age goes including the 50 years to a tree. And I don't know where they got that from. As far as I can recall it was kinda agreed that the implications and statements of his age in series and in magazines meant he was about 200 years old if you don't count his sealment to the tree since he was in a frozen state(which most didn't). But Human (mentality) wise he's about 17 years old. Don't know when that change in fandom happened honestly.
Anywho I support the theory that his birthday is in December because that idea of it being April 1st seems like a joke automatically. Leave my guy alone! 😭
#inuyasha's birthday#reblogging my 2021 post#this answer for Inuyasha’s birthday had been around for several years#now i suddenly find out in 2023 that some person or people? were coming out the woodwork also wanting to say Inuyasha’s bday is Dec. instea#instead of April#April 1st for his birthday never felt right to me anyway#no one ever had an official age so why was April just largely accepted as fact??#Inuyasha was likely born in December#but its just a theory#someone made a video about it#i hope the og theorists on Inuyasha’s birthday feel happy its finally catching on a bit and being spread#reblog#just cuz#Inuyasha love#I'm upset at the audacity to use yashahime at all so I'm#I'm just lowkey ignoring yashahime until I'm in the space where I can binge it and tear it apart#Youtube

Takashi Shiina Blog Translation - "I later noticed that the subtitle is similar to "Battlefield Bonds"": Sunday S December 2021 -
10/26/2021
Even though it was said that "It's a Sunrise work, so why not we use Gundam content for the subtitle every time (laugh)", but it wasn’t serious. Therefore, I thought seriously about it and named it 'Sengoku no Kizuna' (Bonds in the Sengoku era), but it turned out to be Gundam-like. Was it a coincidence or an unconscious act?
Well then, the second episode is a series of scenes that aren’t in the anime. The scene where the twins are born is probably barely familiar.
As mentioned earlier, the arrangement is the fate of the manga version... Mainly because of the quantity (of pages). So when explaining that the parents have gone missing, the story is considerably quicker if they are all together. When riding the oxcart, they are all together. The information in the early stages of the manga is pruned and summarized, such as Moroha and Setsuna growing up together and already forming a duo, speeding up the development of the manga. The exterminator's village and the corpse shop will soon appear, but for now, the priority is the main quest progression, with a loose “Kaede-baachan was in charge of upbringing”. The reason why the tree of ages has a mask on her face and her language is archaic-like is to reduce Kikyo-sama's characterisation a little and emphasize that “despite having inherited her heart, she is a different person”. I'm happy that she appears as a guest character because she’s an onee-sama who went through great hardships. I thought it wouldn't be too much to emphasize that she is at peace in Nirvana (laugh). The impression they give off is quite different from the original work, but I was able to incorporate Riku-kun and the dream butterfly in an arranged form, so I think I was able to structure the story without straying too far from the original work, even though it has a strong sense of uniqueness.
Meanwhile, the characters’ development was also explored in a more compressed form. The relationship between Moroha-chan and Setsuna-chan, who already trust each other, and the emotional portrayal of Kaede-baachan, who has become fragile with age, are approaches unique to the manga version, which is slightly different from the original anime storyline. It quite leaves a good taste in the mouth and I think this is one of the best parts of media mix(1) development.
The point I’m particular about is the scene where papa Sota can’t go on an adventure because he’s an adult. He really wants to go to the world of tales, but Wendy, as an adult, can’t go to Neverland. He is a middle aged man. In the manga, he has the job of speaking for me, an old man who yearns for the world of tales and won’t become an adult (laugh).
When I add arrangements, I try to create a synergy with the anime. The anime is thought to be a gateway to the world of Inuyasha for a new generation, and especially for the younger ones to enjoy, so I, as a big friend of the anime, decided to make some parts a little more linked to Inuyasha, and while I’m at it, give it a little more Japanese-style dark fantasy flavour. I want to drag children who come to read the manga by accident into the swamp by saying "Wow, it's a manga version of Yashahime" (laugh). The setting and the structure have changed a little, but if you look closely, there are actually not many completely new elements; it's just an adaptation of the anime version. If you read the comic after watching the anime, the cuteness of the three princesses will be enhanced, and if you read the comic and then you watch the anime, the characters will have more nuances (note: not 100% sure about this last word in this context), which will make you love them more... My objective is to make that kind of work.
Last time, the guest yokai was Mitsume Jourou (2), just as she appeared in the original story. This time, as a jab before Kirinmaru-sama's men start to make their move, I thought of a good yokai... As a nod to the order of appearance in “Inuyasha”, I had the nostalgic corpse crow, who caused the scattering of the shikon no tama, make a guest appearance. This time, the ravens are the children of that one in the original work, so there are seven of them. No, you see, it is said that ravens have seven children on the mountain (laugh).
Regarding the true identity of the ladies wearing juunihitoe (3)… There are too many hints, so I think there may be Inuyasha fans who have already guessed, but please keep it a secret until the next issue and look forward to it.

prompts: Kikyo is giving birth.
A/N: Hope you you like it and again sorry it took so long.
*****
"Kikyou-onee-sama" Kaede said with a compassionate and concerned voice
"Kikyou..." Inuyasha
Hanyou looked out the window and saw that the first snow had started to fall. "First snow. Our child will see it" He thought, Kikyou's scream snapped him out of his thoughts.
Kikyou squeezed Inuyasha's hand very tightly "You can do it, sister!" Kaede was speaking This beautiful moment came on a December day Kikyou went into labor, two peasant women came to help and Kaede also helped. Inuyasha was by his wife's side and held her hand gently to give her support. Kikyou tightly squeezed his hand so hard that he could feel her pain of childbirth through it. "You can rest for a while," said one of the peasant women Kikyou relaxed for a moment, turned her head to her husband who gently smiled at her as he kissed her holding hand, then looked at his wife and saw that she was tired, all sweaty, but happy. This is their first child. Inuyasha kissed her forehead. "You can continue" Said the other peasant girl Inuyasha felt her rising pulse and heard her heartbeat. His heart was restless and was beating hard, but he could hear. Kikyou felt her strength slowly leaving her, but soon she gained new ones because she knew that her first beloved child would come into the world, her sister and husband give her extra strength supporting her. "You did well, Kikyou," one of the women said Kikyou put her head down and relaxed her body and heard a baby crying "It's a girl!" Kaede screamed happily Inuyasha heard that Kikyou's heart had calmed down, but was beating faster with excitement and happiness. He too, when he saw the baby, his eyes shone with happiness. "You did well" Inuyasha gave Kikyou a short kiss Kikyou looked at her husband with love and thanks One of the women cut the umbilical cord, washed the baby, wrapped the baby. Kikyou half-rised gently. Iniuasha gently moved his wife to him, providing support for her too. One of the women handed the baby into Kikyou's arms. The girl had dog, silver hair, Inuyasha complexion. She opened her eyes and her eyes were brown from Kikyou. The girl, when she saw her parents, stopped crying and smiled, after a while she fell asleep. "Beautiful" Inuyasha said happily "Yes" Kaede confirmed "What name will you give her?" "Inuyasha.. " She looked at the husband of the priestess with slight apprehension. "I was thinking about Izoyai's name… um.. do you agree?" Hanyou's eyes stopped working, then he hid his eyes behind his bangs, he looked displeased. Kikyou and eade looked at each other fearfully, then back at him. Of course I'm happy!" He said happily Kaede and Kikyou laughed because Inuyasha's reaction was cute and funny to them. Inuyasha made a childlike face, his eyes shining with happiness "Lovely," they both said "What?" Inuyasha didn't know what was going on "I'm glad you don't mind" "I'm an aunt!" Kaede couldn't contain her joy "Do you want to hold her in Izoyai's arms?" Inuyasha asked "I can?!" "Of course!" Kikyou handed over her daughter and also told her how to grab her so as not to hurt her. Kikyou and Inuyasha were holding hands and Kikyou looked at each other and then at Kaede. "She'll be a great aunt," Inuyasha said "Of course!" Kikyou confirmed
Kikyou looked out the window and saw the snow falling heavily. She knew her daughter was born in a beautiful winter. It may have been cold, but the landscapes that the snow created were as beautiful as their dearest daughter.

Lay Me Down to Rest - Entry for Day of MirSan 2021
Hello there! And welcome to my first Inuyasha fanfiction, as apart of the @dayofmirsan event.
I initially was planning to be an observer of the event, but sudden inspiration struck at 1am during my nightly routine of falling asleep to Inuyasha. Rewatching the Monkey Sprite episode is interesting for many reasons. For one, there was an unhealthy amount of filler added into the anime adaptation of this story-line, which gave hit-or-miss comedy. But the most important thing is that Miroku and Sango are mostly unaccounted for in this story-line, which gives shippers like me an opportunity to write some “off-screen development” for them. And though the anime does give us an idea, I’m afraid that Miroku’s indifference and frustrated edge in the scene feels a bit off, so I decided to add a bit of a bit of context. Consider this a bit of a fusion between the anime in manga, though the scene is based off of the anime. Also I was very liberal with my use of English/Japanese dub terminology. I watched the anime in English, but switched over to the manga to replace the Final Act, so it’s a bit inconsistent.
I’ve been observing this fandom from afar ever since I started getting into Inuyasha back in December, and though I wanted to try and engage with it, it seemed very daunting given this fandom’s age and organization. But I’m very grateful that I was given the chance to participate in this event, and lucky that inspiration struck me at the right time. I’ve really been looking forward to seeing the works that come out of this event, and I hope you enjoy my contribution.
And thanks for the mods for allowing me to share my work with you fellow fans

Sango tailed the monk as he led their investigation. The villagers they had asked so far had no knowledge of the wicked demon, only of the pestering monkeys that were ravaging their fields. Her companion simply nodded, thanking them for their time and promising that the Inugami would save their village. They soon found themselves at the outskirts of the village on an empty patch of land outside the forest, save for one tall tree. Sango found his behavior during their search to be strange, especially as he now paused at the tree, leaving his Shakujo leaning against its trunk.
Was he just as stumped as she was? Would this reprieve be a chance for them to rethink their approach?
“Why have we stopped here, Miroku?” She questioned. “Aren’t we supposed to search for Naraku’s whereabouts?”
Her befuddlement heightened as he laid his body to rest in the grass underneath the shade of the tree with a sigh, both hands pillowing his head. His intentions then became clear at the sight of his eyelids slipping shut.
“How might we do that when we have neither Inuyasha’s nose or Kagome’s detection?” His tone reflected his relaxed poise. “I merely said that so that Inuyasha would be more inclined to help those villagers.”
Her head tilted downward towards the monk’s resting face. “I understand wanting to help, but do you honestly think that Inuyasha dealing with those monkeys will get us any closer to finding him?
“Not particularly.” He punctuated the off-handed remark with a yawn, overstating his disinterest. “But enough of that... Why don’t you join me here?”
She stood awestruck at his bold request. He lays there while their friends were helping this poor village and now he asks her to do the same? If Inuyahsa were to find out, he’d surely have more pressing things to worry about than the food security of the village.
“I don’t think it would be wise, considering your flippant lies.”
The man remained still, no sign of concern disrupting his posture.
“If you changed back into your battle attire before our return, they’d never suspect a thing.” He ignored her statement, a peaceful smile casually appearing on his face. She instantly recognized this move. He was fully convinced he would get his way, the sleazy crook. “Besides, I’m sure sleep has been as kind to you as it has been to me as of late.”
Although it was usually hard to detect amongst his manner of speaking, the monk’s sarcasm was not missed by the slayer. She knew very well that Naraku’s sudden disappearance had their whole group on edge, including herself. And while sleep had become its own battle, the desperate investigations of their enemy have left her distracted from everything else. Sleep meant the rest needed to fight again, but it also meant time alone with one’s most intimate thoughts. What always plagued her mind nowadays were things she’d rather not willingly engage. Finding Naraku should be her biggest concern now, but she indulged her companion despite what she would consider was her better judgement.
The monk had a particular talent for steering her away from rationality.
“Knowing your pervy ways, I’m sure you’d try and sneak a peek at me”
The monk could’ve never noticed the sneer on her face behind his still-closed eyes. The same smile was plastered on his face as well, despite her accusation. He really did enjoy giving her grief, didn’t he...
“Trust me, my dear. I have no intention of moving from this spot for a while. Or at least until Inuyasha comes for my head.”
“Then I guess you wouldn’t mind if I left Kilala here to guard this spot until I returned.”
He chuckled at that. “I don’t mind at all. I’m sure she’d love to watch me lie here, right Kilala?”
Sango looked to the nekomata, who merely chuffed in response. She was wary of Kilala’s strange trust in the monk at times, but she was sure that the demon would keep an eye on him in case he tried something funny.
Miroku took this as the perfect time to reveal his indigo eyes to her.
“Please, my intentions are more honorable than what they seem, believe me.”
There it was, that gentle voice of his used to convince her of his authenticity. The same breathy tones that sent her heart racing and her stomach in somersaults. She knew Miroku was confident in his charms, but she also liked to think that he was fully aware of this game they played. She only came to grips with it recently, but there was something going on.
They’d fight, they’d talk it through, and just when she thought he would try to make a move, that damn hand of his would find the wrong place to caress. Or it would be when she found herself grieving once more, and he could comfort her with his words alone. How did he always know what to say that made everything clear and could heal every fiber of her being, but also had a hand that never failed to do the exact opposite? He was a truly frustrating man, but he was the only one she ever considered more than just that.
But did he really know? That was a puzzle Sango couldn’t solve. It wasn’t as if anything meaningful resulted from these escapades. Afterwards, they would act as if nothing happened, and he would return to his typical flirtatious ways with any woman that entered his line of sight. So Sango liked to think that Miroku fully knew that he was toying with her feelings. That way it made it easier to lower her expectations and resent them despite Kagome’s not-so-subtle prodding.
When she became abruptly aware that her eyes had been locked on him for too long, she made her hasty retreat, hoping he didn’t catch her bright red flush in the shade of the tree.
“This man will be the death of me,” she softly cursed herself as soon as she knew she left his earshot.
_______________________________________________________________
Upon her return to their little “spot,” she was greeted by an alert Miroku. His body was now fully upright and turned towards her approaching form.
“You’ve accepted my invitation, I see”
“I thought you were trying to sleep”
“I still am, but I’d figured it would help if I got a quick glimpse of your beauty before-hand.”
She rolled her eyes at his shameless attempt. “You really are troublesome, you know that?”
“You wound me, dear Sango!” He unceremoniously flopped back into his previous position, his left hand patting the spot next to him. “You are free to lie beside me if you wish.”
Without the need for consideration, she silently opted to sit against Kilala’s curled form, stretching her legs in front of her. He managed to convince her to relax alongside him, but she had no intention of allowing herself to get too comfortable around him in the likely case the monk’s wandering hands wandered once more. He sighed audibly at her decision, but allowed his eyes to close again without any further word. He could act like a child all he wanted, but she would not budge.
She watched the man for a while, observing his state of rest. She could tell as much that he hadn’t fallen asleep just yet by all of his idle noises and the way he kept trying to steal a glance in her direction.
“Can’t sleep?”
She hadn’t even tried to close her eyes just yet, as she was still trying to grasp their current situation. Why was he so insistent on sleeping if he was just going to try and stare at her the entire afternoon? Why did he lie to Inuyasha in the first place if this was how they would spend their time? With all these questions moving around in her head, she might as well ask for the most basic of them.
“Miroku? Why do you lie and steal as casually as you do? I always thought that monks were pure-hearted.”
“What a wonderful question!” He exclaimed. With such enthusiasm, she was almost afraid of the answer she would soon receive from him. “I’ve been traveling on my own for so long, and it’s quite difficult to acquire wealth in such unfortunate times. I wish to give aid to those in need, but I also believe that it never hurts to help yourself as well.” He settled for an even tone and let his eyes slip open once more.
“And you are right, It is true that holy-people such as myself are meant to be free of sin. But, I was born tainted by the hole that resides in my hand.” His voice tapered off at his pause, the newfound silence growing thick with each passing moment. His sound returned to him, soft and low, as if it were only meant for his ears alone.
“It doesn’t matter how much I devote myself to my faith to any idol or deity. My curse is hell-bent on deciding my fate....”
But we are trying to stop Naraku! To free you from the Kazaana. You can always change your path after that! She immediately contested, perhaps a little too loudly, but she didn’t care. How dare he speak so little of himself and avoid her gaze as he did it?! She refused to accept his belittling statements.
“It is very hard for me to see a future for myself at this time, I’m afraid…” He brought his head up to look at her. A flash of fear ran through his eyes before he looked down once more. “I’m sorry… I shouldn’t speak like that.”
He’s afraid…
And he had every right to be.
“Please don’t apologize.”
He never showed it in front of their group, but behind that calm and smooth exterior remained a man trembling under the weight of his own mortality. He was a man after all, and men were never to show what made them most vulnerable. But with how much he gives to help others, it feels unfair for him to just allow himself to suffer inside as he did.
If they understood each other as well as he liked to claim, then she knew he hated the restless feeling they had knowing nothing of where their wicked nemesis resided, surely plotting something to exploit the fears he caused within their hearts. Knowing that her poor brother remained in that demon’s grasp sickened her to her core, and sitting around with no leads made it hard to lay dormant as they did now.
“I get it. I am just as frustrated as you… About Kohaku-”
“-You don’t need to go any further” He interrupted her thoughts, I didn’t mean to remind you of your pain like that.”
“Miroku-”
“-Please,” he sharply cut in once more, hoarseness settling into his throat. He must’ve noticed it as well, as he cleared his throat soon after. “let’s just try to find rest while we still can.”
He squeezed his eyes shut, clearly trying to force unconsciousness upon himself. Sango relented, trying to relax her body, idly stroking Kilala as she watched the man slowly succumb to rest. It was surreal to see him struggle like this when it seemed like meditation was second nature to him. She decided on trying for sleep once his breathing evened out and all the remaining tension left his face.
________________________________________________________________
Miroku wasn’t sure how long he had been asleep, but he could tell from the shadows before him had grown considerably when his eyes peered open. He turned his head to see Sango now curled up against Kilala, her face all but buried in her demon companion’s fur. He slowly rose to his feet, slightly stretching as he made an intake of his surroundings. It looked as if the sun would soon begin it’s retreat from the sky. The monk knew the rest was necessary, but he definitely didn’t look forward to another predictively sleepless night.
One more glance at Sango’s sleeping form was enough to convince him to approach her, neglecting his Shakujo to silence his movements. He knew, probably better than anybody, of the threat imposed by the slayer’s attuned senses. He also knew the danger of being caught if she awoke to his gawking. Unfortunately it was a risk he was willing for one small fleeting moment to stare at her.
What an idiot he had been for making her sympathize with his life. Even worse that it reminded her of her own grief. He was happy to indulge her curiosity, but when he looked up at her, he turned cowardly at what he saw. It wasn’t fear, or sadness over his grim fate. It was the very same fire that lit behind her eyes in battle.
She was prepared to fight for him, it seemed…
He dare not think that she would go any farther for that. He was not worth her death. In fact, nothing was worth her death. The honor of her clan was at stake, and her life was essential in carrying on their legacy. One measly itinerant monk with a fated death should be worthless in her eyes, even if he wanted nothing more than to keep her alive.
Even if he wanted more than anything to see a future with her.
He turned away from her, returning to his spot in a now seated position. The monk had half a mind to wake the woman, but decided against it. Every waking moment for her was its own battle, after all. She needed all the rest she could get. And he’d gladly wait for her until that battle resumed, and fight with her at every step.
And if dying for her now meant he could spend the next life by her side, then he would welcome death with open arms.
“I hope this woman is the death of me,” he softly wished before all else melted away to his own meditation.
______________________________________________________________
Yeah I realized I took some liberties here with how Miroku and Sango’s relationship was at this point. This episode takes place after the Temptress of the Mist and Demon-Head castle, but far behind Mt. Hakurei, so what was going on with them hadn’t really become a “pattern” just yet. And Miroku had just comforted her in her grieving state for the first time right before that. Sango wasn’t deep enough to say he was her reason for living, so that’s why I kept her on the fence and didn’t have her feel too disappointed, because that’s what came after Mt Hakurei.
I’m a sucker for long winded perspective changes, especially here with all the parallels I draw between them. Some of my best lines were written here, especially the ending line. My GOD. I swear, I wrote that and everything made sense. I said “yes” over and over again, it was so good.
Also can you tell whose voice I’m talking about when describing Miroku’s? The answer is Koji Tsujitani. I always knew about Tsujitani’s delivery that makes Miroku sound truly “fake” but I noticed rather recently how he would add so much breath, especially in serious scenes. On the other hand, Kirby Morrow played the character down and deep in his throat, which isn’t bad when talking about his overall performance, but I decided to favor Tsujitani’s performance in this instance.
(I’m a classically trained singer and a music education major, so I’m a nut for analyzing voice acting. I have respect for both of these men may they rest in peace.)
Thanks again for the opportunity, and I hope to write more for this series.

oh! Please! 1, 2, and 6. Can you tell us more?
@kawaiichan67 I SWEAR I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN!!! I was just waiting to get off work and then also get onto my computer again so I could answer this the way it deserved to be answered!!
Thank you SO SO SO much for the ask!!
In order:
1: War Bride is a fic where Inuyasha is a soldier from America in WWII, and once it’s over...he’s one of the ones occupying Japan. There, he falls in love with Kagome, and marries her, bringing her back to the states as his “war bride”. It was a very common occurrence for these men, and laws were actually made to help expedite things to make it so that soldiers could, in fact, bring these war brides home. I’ve read a few articles on it while doing research for “Not for All the Tea in China”, and I am FASCINATED by it, and really want to try my hand at that once.
TEASER:
Inuyasha’s breath puffed out before him in the cold, December air. His joints ached as he slowly moved through the cemetery, the stone grave markers lined forming neat, tight rows. It had been a week since he had been here last. He always tried to visit once a week.
The thought of her here alone…
He spotted his late wife’s marker and smiled. The pang in his heart was still as fresh as the day he had lost her. It still tightened painfully in his chest. His breath still hitched in his clogged throat. They said time healed all wounds…
Time couldn’t dull this pain, however.
He set up the folding chair on her small polt as he arrived, bending down to rub the marker endearingly. The sun had warmed the stone slightly in the chill of the air, and if he closed his eyes...he could pretend that the hardness he felt under his wrinkled, weathered fingers was her soft, pliable skin. He could pretend that he cupped her cheek as she laid in their bed beside him, the way he had thousands of times before.
“Merry Christmas, Koishii,” he greeted lovingly, his deep voice rough with age and emotion.
The wind picked up around him - just a gentle breeze, really - but he chose to believe that she was reaching out to him too.
“Merry Christmas, Inuyasha…”
He longed to hear those words from her.
“Moroha is coming by later,” he began chipperly, shoving his frail hands into his jacket pockets. “She’s bringing the boy and the kids too.”
He still “lovingly” referred to his son in law as “the boy”. It was more of a tease now - something said with a twinkle in his eye. Inuyasha might not have liked the man when he first showed up...but...Moroha was their only child. His special princess. It was something Kagome would tell him to not do, but he and “the boy” had a bit of an understanding now.
He had seen the look in the man’s eyes when he looked at his little girl.
It was the same one he had once had in his eye when he had first seen Kagome, back in Japan after the end of World War II.
“Do you remember the day we met, Kagome?” he pondered aloud, knowing that he wouldn’t receive a response. Still, he asked all the same.
He liked talking to her, even if he would never again receive a response.
“You were working at that department store…” he began, closing his eyes, and he was transported to a different time and place.
2: Knight Kagome is just...me toying with a concept. Inuyasha is the unwanted child of a duke Touga. Kagome is a powerful knight. He marries Inuyasha off to her (for a reason I haven’t decided on...something battley related) and the pair slowly falls in love.
This is actually all I have for that one...
TEASER:
She was beautiful.
He couldn’t help but sneak glances at her from under his lashes at the altar. Her wedding dress. The braids in her black hair. If her stormy blue eyes hadn’t been downtrodden, he might have believed for a moment that the smile on her face was real.
That she actually wanted to marry him.
But. Then again. Who would ever want to marry him. Inuyasha. Bastard half-breed son of the great duke toga Takahashi, and a maid who had caught his eye. He’s only had to rut her a few times before she’s been whelped.
He’d never even met her. She died as he was born. She hadn’t even had the strength to look upon his face as he drew his first breath.
The priest continued to drone on before them, and he found himself stealing another glance at her.
So beautiful. So powerful. How the hell had his father twisted her arm into wedding him. He hadn’t heard the details. He only knew that Kagome would become his wife, and then, shortly after, she would take their place on the battlefield. As a knight and a magician, she was powerful. She hadn’t earned any titles yet, but that was sure to follow.
He could feel the power radiating off of her, even now. Her strength. Her magic.
He shifted his golden gaze away from her as she tilted her head ever so slightly to look at him. His breath caught in his throat and he silently tried to calm himself.
6: Mail Order Husband...Oh. My. God. I have had this idea since HIGH SCHOOL. Kagome doesn’t have time for love. She’s lonely...but her job is her world and nothing will stand in her way of her dreams of becoming a top exec at a fashion magazine. She thinks she has it all. The looks. The apartment. The friends...but...one night after a long day of work, there’s a knock on her door...and when she answers it, she’s swept into the arms of a stranger who proceeds to kiss her.
And tell her he’s her husband.
Maybe she doesn’t have the friends she thought she did.
...Or does she?
TEASER:
Kagome sighed as she toed off her high heels, gently scooting them to the side with her foot, next to her island. She peeled out of her blazer as she walked further into her apartment, ditching it onto the closest arm chair, rubbing the back of her neck.
God she was exhausted. And she wasn’t looking forward to tomorrow, but...that was a “future her” issue. She didn’t want to mull over work anymore right now. All she wanted was her grubhub to arrive so she could have some sushi, pour some wine, and watch the real housewives of atlanta.
Their shit was always worlds better than her own. Their drama made her forget about her drama...and she fucking hated drama. When she was involved, of course.
She still wanted to know 200% of it.
Just leave her out of it.
She meandered over to her bathroom and pulled her hair up into a loose ponytail at the top of her head, removing her jewelry. She would have completely changed, but...frankly...she knew that dinner would be arriving soon and she’d rather open the door with her bra on.
That didn’t mean that she couldn’t get a little more comfortable first though. Try and wipe away some of the traces of her hellish day at work.
That fucking magazine…
It was her blood. Her life. And they made her bleed for it. The deadlines were crazy, the stress insane, and her bosses even more so. Yet...she wouldn’t trade her life for anything. It was her dream job, and she had sacrificed a lot to get here.
A social life, at times. Definitely love.
This was what the trade off was for working at one of the most in demand, read, and famous fashion magazines in the world.
She rolled her shoulders, before washing her face, drying it with a towel behind her. It was a bit better, but she didn’t feel refreshed. She felt exhausted, and now that the makeup was gone, she could see the bags under her blue eyes. She loved her eyes...was that conceited to say?
She didn’t know anymore after working for them.
But she did.
They were large and round...had heard from many men before that it was like looking into the depths of an ocean and...frankly...she had to agree. They were one of her most striking features, next to her delicate features. Nose, cheekbone...brows...If she didn’t enjoy food, she had been told that she could have been a model. As it were, however, that wasn’t a path she wanted for herself anyways.
She exited the bathroom, flicking off the light as she made her way back into her kitchen, opening the fridge door and taking out a new bottle of wine. Chardonnay. She had picked it up a few days ago, and nothing like her hell day to make her want to dip into it.
She grabbed the corkscrew and began working it into the bottle as a knock came from her door, and she sighed in relief.
“Sushi,” she grinned, placing the bottle onto her counter as she strode towards the door. “You have good timing!” she called out, placing her hand on the knob, turning it. “I’m famished!”
What greeted her on the other side of the door didn’t look like a grubhub man.
Afterall.
Grubhub brought you food.
Not suitcases.
“Hello?” she greeted, raising her brow at the man before her. Long silver hair, nervous yet excited golden eyes...His smile was shy but endearing.
“Kagome?” he whispered, almost as if he couldn’t believe it.
“Yes?” she replied slowly - hesitantly. Who the hell was he and how the hell did he even know her name?
“Kagome,” he grinned widely, sweeping her into his arms, his lips planting themselves firmly on her lips.
She squealed as he began kissing her, his hands winding into her hair, his hand gently moving to lovingly caress the small of her back. She had no idea who the hell this man was...or why the fuck he was kissing her, but she didn’t like it!
Well…
She did…
But it was creepy as fuck and she didn’t like it!
She wormed her hands between their bodies and gave him a firm push, staggering backwards into her apartment.
“What the fuck!” she demanded, running the back of her hand against her lips, and he looked absolutely crushed.
“W-what?”
“Who the hell are you and why the hell did you just kiss me!”
“W-who...K-kagome…”
She darted over towards the butcher block on her counter holding her knives and grabbed one as he entered her apartment.
“Kagome! It’s me! Inuyasha!”
“You say that like it should mean something to me,” she growled lowly, keeping her knife pointed at him. She wasn’t letting him get any closer to her if she could help it.
If only she were closer to her phone...Then she could maybe call for help.
“I...We’re getting married,” he breathed, his face confused. Saddened.
“What?!” she shrieked. This guy had to have a few marbles loose.
“Do you...Kagome Higurashi?”
“That’s my name,” she nodded. “But I’m definitely not getting married, buddy…”
“I don’t understand…” he whispered. He looked like he was on the verge of crying, and her heart softened a little. This man...Inuyasha...whoever he was...Seemed completely and totally baffled.
“L-look. Maybe there’s another Kagome Higurashi that’s out there that you’re supposed to get married to. What...why don’t you...Shit,” she sighed. He looked so sad. He didn’t seem like a threat. He seemed as confused and befuddled as she did. She wasn’t going to put down the knife, but maybe she should take a few deep breaths and try and figure out what the hell was going on. Maybe ask him why the hell he had two large suitcases outside her apartment.
“Why don’t you grab those and come inside,” she began again, trying to keep her words soft. They had gotten off on the wrong foot, but she was willing to start over and try and help him out. He just looked so lost...Like...A puppy.
She could see him worrying the inside of his cheek, as he thought over her words before nodding and stepping outside to grab his suitcases.
Why the hell did he need suitcases?
He moved to close the door but she stopped him. She would rather leave it open in case her judgement was inpaired. Frankly, it wouldn’t surprise her if it was. What was she thinking anyways?
...That there was a strange lost man who needed help...who looked absolutely devastated...and she was going to help him out. Because she was a good person.
Fuck.
“Why don’t you leave that open,” she voiced, and he glanced back up at her in confusion, before understanding flooded his eyes. “I have dinner on the way,” she explained, but he didn’t look like he completely believed that.
It was true though!
God...There went her relaxing night of sushi and wine and reality tv...She could already feel it as she removed her blazer from the chair, gesturing for him to sit down. He jerkily nodded, and slumped down, trying to find the words to explain his sudden appearance.
Her standing probably wasn’t helping to ease him much...So she reluctantly decided to sit on the couch across from him, making sure they had plenty of distance - and a coffee table - between them.
“Why don’t you tell me who you are, and why you’re here?” she prompted softly, and he nodded his head. She watched his fingers as they began to nervously pick at his nails, and she had to bite her tongue to tell him to stop.
“My name is Inuyasha Takahashi,” he began slowly. “And I’m here to marry a woman named Kagome Higurashi. We met online six month ago...And...I’m sorry, I just...You even look like her…” he sighed, closing his eyes. “I can’t believe this is happening…”
He leaned forward, propping his head up on his knees as the heels of his hands pressed into his eyes.
“I should have known better,” he chuckled dryly to himself. “Twelve hours on a plan and you...she...wouldn’t even come and pick me up from the airport?”
“W-what?” she sputtered. “Who the hell is this woman?”
“You! I thought!” he replied in exasperation. “I...Do you have a computer?” he swallowed. “Maybe it will be easier if I just...Can I show you? Please…”
“Yeah. Sure! Of-of course. Hold on,” she nodded, picking up the knife and packing out of the room, keeping her front to him as she made her way into her bedroom. She had left it on her nightstand last night, and now would be the perfect time to grave her phone too.
Just in case.
She had left it in the bathroom when she was washing her face, and when she grabbed it off the white and black marbled counter, she was surprised to see a littony of missed phone calls from her friends. Eri, Yuka, Yumi...What the hell did they want?
She shook her head and decided to table that for another time.
She was already having a hell of a night. She really didn’t want to add their issues to it too.
She left her bedroom, laptop, phone and knife in hand, and found he hadn’t left his spot. His eyes were red, and glossy, and it made her heart ache for him a little. He seemed so sweet and genuine…
“Here,” she offered, handing him her computer.
He mumbled out his thanks, opening it and scrolling and typing away. When he was done, he handed the computer back to her, and she was flabbergasted.
He had taken her to...what appeared to be...A website for mail order husbands?! She didn’t even know that was a thing!
“Kagome and I met about six months ago and it was…” he smiled wistfully. “I felt a connection to her almost instantly. You can...read through everything,” he blushed sweetly, and she absently found herself thinking how precious he looked. “I asked her a few months back if she...would like to move forward with an agreement, and she accepted. We were supposed to be getting married this week,” he whispered, looking down at his hands clasped between his knees.
“Inuyasha...I…”
“Please,” he insisted. “There are photos that we exchanged,” he blushed. “And she...she looked just like you.”
She swallowed and nodded, her fingers scrolling through the exchange of messages...and she was stunned.
Everything he had told her appeared to be true. He had been in touch with a Kagome Higurashi...He had agreed to come to New York to be with her...And the bitch had stolen photos of her.
“Oh my God,” she breathed, and he winced. “I...I know when all of these photos were taken...My brother’s birthday...Pool party with Eri...Weekend away with Yuka…”
Wait.
No.
No.
Her heart was racing as an absolutely absurd idea struck her.
Her friends wouldn’t have...Couldn’t have…
She scrolled up further and found a picture of the four of them at her birthday.
The pictures. The missed phone calls.
Please.
Dear god let her be wrong…
Her phone started ringing again, startling them both.
Eri...

“Hanyou No Yashahime” Tripartite Cast Talk
Matsumoto Sara X Komatsu Mikako X Tadokoro Azusa
Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter and Sesshomaru’s two daughters play an active role in “Hanyou No Yashahime”. As an original anime with no original work (translator’s note: As in not an adaptation of something like a manga or light novel), the subject is the next generation of “Inuyasha” done in the same style. Being “Inuyasha” fans themselves, we had the three lead voice actresses talk about the charm of the series.
The main character design was done by Takahashi Rumiko!
Towa
A 14-year-old middle school girl. 10 years ago, she time traveled from the Feudal Era to the Modern Era and became the adopted daughter of Kagome’s little brother, Souta. Upon reuniting with her younger twin sister, Setsuna, after she time travels to the Modern Era with Moroha, Towa decides to return to the Feudal Era. She is Sesshomaru’s daughter.
Setsuna
14 years old. Towa’s younger twin sister. A member of the demon slayers led by Kohaku. She has lost her memories of her childhood and is unable to fall asleep. She has the gold rainbow pearl in her left eye. While she does not believe Towa is her older twin sister, she travels with her as she tries to take back Setsuna’s memories and sleep.
The 3 of you reacted shocked with “What you mean daughters?!”
Moroha
Commonly known as “Monster Killer Moroha”. A 14-year-old bounty hunter. When she puts on rouge stored in a shell with the red rainbow pearl on it, she becomes “The Country Destroying Beniyasha” and goes on a rampage. While she is Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter, she does not know her parents and has lived mostly on her own apparently.
Komatsu: When the work was announced, the world was shocked like “Sesshomaru has a daughter?!” and we were the same. When I opened the audition documents, it was written that the setting takes place over 10 years after the conclusion of the original work and that Setsuna, who I was auditioning for, is Sesshomaru’s daughter. I thought “What does this mean?” and reflexively grabbed the last volume of the manga.
Matsumoto: I was handed Takahashi Rumiko-sensei’s character design and a simple correlation diagram. In regards to Towa, who I auditioned for, it was also written that all that was known was that she is Sesshomaru’s daughter. I was given lines without knowing the context or anything so I wondered what to do. However, at the same time, I was so happy to the point that I was like “The “Inuyasha” world is coming back!”
Tadokoro: I completely freaked out (laughs). Also, my manager knew I was big fan of “Inuyasha” and calmly told me before I looked at the audition documents “Azusa, you absolutely can’t miss out on this. This a huge opportunity.”
Komatsu: A lot of pressure!
Tadokoro: Then when I looked at the documents, I saw that Moroha, who I was auditioning for, was the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome. After getting excited like “They had a child~!”, I saw Towa and Setsuna and screamed “I will be upset if they’re not XX’s children!” (translator’s note: they’re referring to the mother)
Komatsu and Matsumoto: I know!
Tadokoro: As a fan, I worried endlessly but as a voice actress, I thought I couldn’t miss out on this. However, when I went to the studio audition, I was told “Keep the base but try to say these lines a little more like a middle-aged man”. I became flustered like “Even though she’s a 14-year-old girl?” … I felt like I didn’t respond properly and was really down going home.
Komatsu: Me too. Maybe it was because I was pulling too strongly from Sesshomaru’s image but I was told “Not only coolness but we would also like for you to show the cuteness of a 14-year-old” and I couldn’t make the switch the very well. I didn’t get the reaction that I got the part at all.
Matsumoto: I over considered the setting of (Towa) wearing a boy’s uniform and I was told “Don’t make her a boy”. After that no matter how many retries I did, the direction I took didn’t match up… I cried a lot when I got home like “I totally bombed it”. That moment, I realized that I had really wanted the part and was surprised. “Inuyasha” was a work that was more special to me than I thought.
Overcoming different boundaries, their feelings melt together
Komatsu: For me, “Inuyasha” was also a textbook on love. Especially the relationship between Inuyasha, Kagome, and Kikyou. It’s a little hard for kids to understand and I thought, “Why does Kikyou always get in the way?” and “Inuyasha too, make up your mind” but in a certain scene, Kagome asks Inuyasha “I… What exactly am I to you?”. In between the feelings of it can’t be helped that he overlaps her face with Kikyou’s and this has nothing to do with her, she properly checked what her existence meant to him. Seeing that, I realized. Not only in love but that’s important in life in general as well.
Tadokoro: It’s so cool isn’t it? She acknowledged all her feelings of jealousy and hate towards Kikyou and still saved her on top of that. She showed us her resolve to properly face her heart and Kikyou and accept them. It was so cool that I cried. Then when I became an adult, I came to understand Kikyou’s feelings and it hurt.
Matsumoto: Well she was also a victim… I think when you read “Inuyasha”, you become emotionally attached to each individual character because depictions that give you a sense that they’re “alive” are inlaid in all sorts of places. For example, the scene in volume 1 where Kagome offers food to Inuyasha whom she had just met. While Inuyasha makes his wariness known, he takes a bite of the radish in the next frame. I always laugh like “Even though you say it’s annoying, you’re still eating it!” but at the same time I feel that it’s really “like” him. From those ordinary depictions, over time we accept “something” without realizing it. That accumulation turns into a big emotion that overflows when you get to the important scenes.
Komatsu: At times when those complexly wrapped emotions sublimate, even sad endings become beautiful. For example, Kagura. Even though she was born from Naraku, she was guided to good through Inuyasha and the others who were supposed to be her enemy. Kagome and Kikyou’s relationship too but ally or enemy, good or evil, all sorts of borders are crossed and seeing drawings of humans and demons coming together I think is the charm of “Inuyasha”.
We haven’t been told the answers to the mysteries
Matsumoto: Continuing onward to “Hanyou no Yashahime”, the character I play, Towa, passed through space-time and got sent to the Modern Era at age 4. However, possibly because she was raised by Kagome’s little brother, Souta, even though she is Sesshomaru’s daughter, I feel like she’s also similar to Kagome.
Komatsu: While blood inheritance is important, the person who raised you has a big influence as well. Also, what environment you were raised in. Setsuna lost her childhood memories due to certain circumstances. So of course, she doesn’t remember her older twin sister, Towa, whom she got separated from at 4 years old. Due to that hole and being raised in an environment where you could be killed by anyone at any time, she gives off an air of not allowing others to get close to her. But just when you think that, there are times where you can feel that she’s actually kind and that makes it heartrending.
Matsumoto: Feeling she (Towa) needs to fill in the 10-year void with Setsuna who became like that, the highlight is seeing their relationship change as Towa closes the gap between them. Add Moroha in and there’s a lot of chattering.
Tadokoro: Moroha speaks in a vulgar manner (translator’s note: it actually translates to abusive language but abusive didn’t sound right to me) but in reality, I have a feeling that she truly enjoys traveling with the two of them. To her, those two are probably the first friends she has ever had. That form is so precious and I feel lonely when I wonder what sort of environment she grew up in. I wonder why she’s desperately earning money by slaying demons. We were only told who she was raised by but at this time, we have not been told things like happened to Inuyasha and Kagome.
Matsumoto: This includes who Towa and Setsuna’s mother is. This is something fans have been wondering the most but the answers will be revealed eventually and I have faith that this work will properly continue on what was drawn in “Inuyasha”.
Tadokoro: That’s why we would like everyone to watch over them until the very end and love the 3 Yashahimes as they survive with each of their individual strengths.
Komatsu: While there are a lot of cheerful episodes, there will be times when the inlaid depictions within those episodes will be collected in an instant which I think people will enjoy. For that, we will give it our all!
We Asked Takahashi-sensei!
Q: What did you especially focus on when doing the character design?
A: Series composition writer Sumisawa (Katsuyuki) requested me to draw the image of Towa as a white Sesshomaru and Setsuna as a black Sesshomaru. Upon reading the scenario, I designed them incorporating their father’s facial look. Moroha was the same, being Inuyasha and Kagome’s child. As such, I made it so that Inuyasha’s mischievousness came through.

On the One Hand- Death: 2- A Few Fries Short of A Happy Meal
Chapter 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
"Hello there."
Blinking at the tree in front of her, Sonya frowned at it in confusion. It wasn't exactly normal per-se for a tree to be talking to her, but she wasn't one to judge. "Um... Hello?"
"Ahem, behind you." Furrowing her eyebrows, she turned around and blinked at the person standing there. "Oh, that makes more sense then. Hello." His face was blurry, like she had forgotten her glasses or something. Out of habit, she pushed her finger up her nose, attempting to adjust the glasses that weren't there and sighed at the automatic action.
"Hold on, let me-" The figure raised their arm and made a snapping noise, immediately after her vision cleared, letting Sonya actually see who it was.
"You! What- How..." Eyes wide, she stared at Chuck in front of her, his easy smile making her suspicious as she eyed him. Raising his hands in front of him, Chuck shook his head. "Calm down, I can't hold this connection for long and there are quite a few things I need to say."
"Connection?" Looking around their surroundings, Sonya eyed the ever so slightly out of focus trees there. "This is a dream isn't it?"
"I wouldn't be able to speak with you otherwise." Sticking his hands in his pockets, Chuck watched her as she turned in a slow circle then faced him once more with that suspicious look on her face.
"You aren't Robert are you, you weren't the first time either. I remember now, we met at a Con before everything went sideways." Taking a step closer to him, Sonya pointed an accusing finger at his face with a scowl. "You brought me to this place!"
"You did wish for adventure." Chuck shrugged his shoulders and offered her a smile, one she didn't return as she folded her arms across her chest and continued glaring at him. "I also said I'll probably die right away too! I don't want to die, Chuck."
Heaving a sigh, Chuck reached out and touched a finger to her necklace. The bright blue stone in the center flashing dully for a moment before resuming it's natural look once more. "There. You've gotten your wish, what more do you want?"
"I want to know why I can't remember hardly anything from before I got here!" Throwing her hands up in the air, Sonya began pacing back and forth in front of him, full of agitation while she continued ranting at the poor guy.
"I know my life, and everything that happened, but the six or so hours before I got here! Nothing! I didn't even connect it was you that sent me here until just now! And the show! I told Bobby he was part of a tv show, but I couldn't tell him the name or anything else that happens in it!"
"That would be because I made sure you couldn't." Chuck raised an eyebrow at her, watching as she came to a full stop and slowly turned her head to look over at him. "Why?"
"Knowing the future is a dangerous thing, a game no one should play, especially when other's lives are at stake because of it." Reaching out, he went to put a hand on her shoulder, but thought twice and dropped it back down to his side with a frustrated sigh. "Why is it, in any universe, you never trust me?"
"Excuse me?" Sonya squinted her eyes and shot him a very suspicious look. "Any universe?"
"What? You thought you were the only version of yourself that managed to get to a new life on their own?" Chuck scoffed and waved a hand in the air beside him with a smug smile. "I've been nudging various versions of you into new lives for years."
His smile fell then, becoming irritated as he eyed her in frustration. "And yet, each one I spoke to after helping them out, never trusted me. Always in a dream and always suspicious and in some cases, violent."
"You plucked me out of my life! Of course I'm suspicious!" Sonya snapped, clenching one of her hands into a fist as she resisted the urge to stomp her foot. "Because you asked me to!" Chuck snapped back, his eyebrows furrowing while he spoke. "There's a version of you living it up with Elves, another two versions of you in some world based around a thing called Inuyasha! Granted one of you already existed in that world and I brought another one there, but that is beside the point. I have done everything each of you asked for when it came to a new life. And every time I speak with them, they have never, in any case, ever been grateful."
Struck dumb by this new information, Sonya stared at him while he continued ranting as he paced back and forth. "The one living with Elves, name's not the same, but defiantly you in all other aspects. At least she was polite about it, could still tell she didn't trust me."
"Would you trust a random guy showing up in a dream and telling you he's the reason you're in a different world?" Sonya finally asked, cutting in as he took a deep breath. "Think about it from our point of view."
He hesitated a moment then nodded reluctantly. "I see your point. However, what I've done for you, all of you. Why isn't that proof enough?"
"That's another thing." Sonya rubbed her face with frustration coloring her tone. "Why me? Or do you just go around doing this to a bunch of other people too?"
"Sometimes, mostly you though."
"Why? What on earth did I do to deserve all of this... Attention if you want to call it that?" Despite being in a dream at the moment, Sonya could just feel her energy slowly depleting from this entire conversation alone. It wasn't exactly your run of the mill dream.
Chuck's silence made her drop her hands from her face and stare at him expectantly. She couldn't exactly say she knew him, but during this whole conversation, he didn't once not respond to what she said. "What?"
"You're interesting. Your lives... They're... Interesting is all." He hedged, making her suspicion notch up a few levels. "I can't help but wonder what happens when I change your story."
"If my life is so... Interesting, why change it at all?"
"I want to see what would happen." He shrugged, glancing away at something she couldn't see and frowned. "You're about to wake up, don't fall out of bed." With that he vanished from view, giving her only a few seconds to register what he said before she was roughly yanked from her dream.
"Ah!" Flailing about wildly, Sonya tried to get away from the hand shaking her shoulder and promptly flopped onto the floor beside the couch she had been laying on. A low moan of pain issued from her as she curled up and held her head with a grimace. "What the hell?"
"Good mornin', Sunshine, good to see you awake at..." Bobby paused and glanced down at his watch. "Two thirty in the afternoon."
"Awake because you scared the shit out of me." Sonya grumbled, getting to her feet while still rubbing her head and squinting at Bobby with a frown. "What was that for?"
"You were talkin' in your sleep and annoying the hell out of me while doin' it." He snorted, stumping past her on his way to his desk, various papers scattered across the top that he brushed out of the way impatiently. "Come here."
Still grumbling under her breath, Sonya followed the grouchy hunter and stood beside him as he searched through a stack of loose paper before finally pulling one out. "Here, better memorize this while you can." He grunted, pushing it over to her before turning back to the computer in front of him and typing a few things in.
"Sonya Smith?" Quirking an eyebrow up, she glanced at him in confusion. "What the hell is this?" At his impatient wave, she looked back down at it and continued reading with growing unease. "Born December tenth, 1981 in New Jersey." Looking back up, Sonya shot him an incredulous look. "Is this what, my life?"
"New life, can't exactly go around sayin' your some girl from Indiana when she already exists." Bobby grunted, settling down in his chair as he stared up at her from under the brim of his hat sternly. "I suggest you memorize it and remember every detail."
"But..."
"Can't do nothin' besides this." He cut her off with a wave of his hand, obviously frustrated with her lack of understanding. "I don't know how you got here, nor do I know how to get you back. Until you come up with more information, this is the best I can do."
Leaning against the desk, Sonya let out a low sigh and nodded her head. "Alright... Um... Where did you get all of this? I highly doubt it'll hold over if I need an ID or something."
"Already covered." Reaching over, he plucked a plastic card off the top of the paper stack and held it out to her. "Gotta get the picture on, but it'll work." He added, watching her for a reaction as she studied the information on it.
"What address is this?" She asked finally, looking up at him with a slight frown. "It's not around here is it?"
"Abandoned farm in Virginia. Took out a nest of vamps there a while back. No one'll look too deep into it." Glancing at the computer in front of him, he nodded at the blank space of wall across from where they were. "Go stand there an' I'll get your picture set up."
Still puzzling over the new information of her life there, Sonya put the ID down and wandered towards the spot he indicated, looking up at him as he set up the camera. "Hold still."
Forcing herself to freeze, she stared at the camera in front of her with trepidation. She never took good pictures, they always ended up horrible, her ID photos more so. The last three she remembered getting, she ended up looking like she had gotten into a fist fight the day before.
A flash and shutter click followed her train of thought causing black spots to swim in front of her eyes. Blinking and rubbing them, the idle thought that something was missing from her face was quickly squashed by bobby shoving the ID under her nose so she could see it.
Taking it from him, she stared down at the official-looking piece of plastic in front of her with something akin to wonder. "Wow, never had a fake ID before. Not even when I was underage." She joked lightly, earning an unamused look from the hunter from where he stood beside a bookshelf. "Well, I wouldn't suggest flashin' it around all the time, either." He returned to searching through the tomes sitting in front of him. "Someone's bound to notice eventually."
"Right, I'll be sure to remember that." Tucking the plastic into her borrowed pair of cargo pants, she wandered over to where he stood, curious about the many, many, many books he had lying around the house. "What you looking for?"
"A book to try and explain what the hell is goin' on with you." He grumbled, frowning at the titles in front of him before moving to the next bookcase and glaring at the ones there.
"Ain't never heard of someone suddenly apprin' in another world. And I ain't ever been part of a TV show either." He added, shooting her a look that clearly said he didn't believe one word of her story, however vague it was.
Heaving a sigh, Sonya leaned back against the bookshelf behind her and rubbed at her eyes. "I can't explain it to you, I can't even explain it to myself!" Dropping her hand down to her side, she slapped her leg in exasperation, drawing Bobby's attention. "Look, I told you, I fell asleep at a hotel next to a Comic Con, next thing I remember after passing out is waking up in that car. I honestly can't tell you anymore than that, I wish I could because it's driving me nuts not knowing either."
Bobby twisted his lips to the side and eyed her silently for a moment, taking in the frustrated expression on her face and turned around so he looked on her fully this time. "If you're tellin' the truth, then don't you think we oughta find somethin' that could explain how you got here?"
Looking over at him, Sonya chewed her lower lip in thought before offering him a weak smile, recognizing the olive branch he was giving her at the moment. He didn't fully trust her, and she couldn't fully trust him not to toss her out at the first sign of something being wrong. But for the moment, they were pushed together in an effort to figure out just what the hell was going on.
"Yeah... Alright." Pushing herself away from the wall, Sonya wandered to the other side of the room and began looking through the books stacked up on the floor there without another word. After a moment, Bobby turned back to his bookcase and resumed searching as well, silence descending between them as the focused on the task at hand.
Three months later
" 'The possibility of another reality is possible, but is not achievable to travel to.' " Sonya mumbled to herself around the pen cap clenched in her teeth as she scribbled in the notebook beside her. Across the desk sat Bobby, staring at something on the computer while writing in a notebook of his own. " 'To travel between realities would require more power than is capable to be produced at this time-' When the hell was this book written, the dark ages?" Sonya slapped her pen down in disgust and began flipping back to the beginning of the book so she could read the printing information on the first page.
"You're the one that found it in the library." Bobby grunted in a distracted tone, still staring at his computer while she slammed the book shut and dropped it on the pile of other books beside her. "Yeah, well when a book has a title like 'Multiverse Travel' printed on it, you'd assume it actually had information on traveling to other universes." Sonya snorted, leaning back in the chair and letting out a satisfied groan when it finally popped. "Coffee refill, you want some?"
"I'm good." Still obviously sucked into whatever he was reading at the time, Bobby waved a distracted hand at her as she stood up with her coffee cup in hand. "Whatever, I come back and find that stupid flask spilled on my notes again, I'm throwing the damn thing in the fire." Rolling her eyes, she ignored the bitch face Bobby threw at her and walked into the kitchen to refill her mug.
It had been months of research and working together, and while they didn't exactly trust each other, they knew enough that the other one wasn't planning on pulling something on them anytime soon. And considering the fact that she willingly helped him take care of his various hunting items from time to time, she liked to think he believed she wasn't a monster anymore.
Leaning a hip against the counter, she stared out the small window there, a small smile twitching her lips as she watched the dog outside wander around in the area restricted by it's chain. Rumsfield, she loved that dog, it wasn't exactly one that acted like a puppy like some breeds of dogs do. But for a Rottweiler, he was pretty sweet. Especially when she snuck him a few pieces of jerky from the stash she had found hidden in the top shelf of one of the cabinets.
While she stood there watching him, waiting for her coffee to cool, a old, beat up, pickup truck trundled into view. The cloud of dust it kicked up behind it's back wheels blocking the road for a moment before it settled down. Furrowing her eyebrows, Sonya wandered back into the study where Bobby still sat at his desk. "Expecting someone?"
Looking up at her, he frowned right back and glanced out the window at the dust in the air. "No. Are you?"
"Who the hell am I going to call? You're the only person I know here, moron."
"Well aren't you just a bowl of sunshine this morning." Snorting lightly, he got up and walked over to the front door, opening it so he could stand behind the screen and watch the truck come to a complete stop. "Better get the good whisky out if he's gonna be here." Sonya heard him mutter to himself before pushing the screen open and walking out onto the porch as a older black man stepped out of the vehicle.
"Bobby! Got somethin' you might wanna hear!"
Peering around the hunter, Sonya eyed the new man curiously, that familiar feeling washing over her as he made his way up to the porch to join them. "Oklahoma, big story is there's a wendigo out-" He paused mid-sentence when his eyes landed on Sonya's curious face. "Who the hell is this?"
"Does it really matter right now, Rufus?" Bobby sighed, already sounding tired of the explanation that was needed before even starting it.
"Hell yes it matters, I don't know who or what she is." Rufus shot back, his eyes flicking between Sonya and Bobby while he spoke, hands stretching out to his sides a bit. "For all I know she's got you under some witchy spell or somethin'."
"She ain't got me under a spell, you idjit. Get inside." Turning around, he nudged Sonya towards the door and lead Rufus inside the house and into the study. "How am I supposed to know that, Bobby? Huh? What proof do you have?" Rufus stood in the doorway, staring at the two of them as they both shot the man an exasperated look.
"I tested her myself, nothin' any stranger than you. Tho you might just beat her on that with the way you're actin' now." Snorting lightly, Sonya plopped in her seat across from Bobby as he settled into his own at the desk. "Well? You said somethin' about wendigo."
Rufus stared at them for a moment before apparently deciding to forget the situation at the moment in favor of his own story and moved into the study to sit on the couch. "A wendigo hunting a bunch of boy scouts on an annual trip. Three dead, two missing and assumed dead. You in?"
"Since when did you need help hunting a wendigo down?" Bobby narrowed his eyes slightly at Rufus as he leaned back against the couch, completely at home and smiled back at him. "Because, I ain't ever heard of a wendigo bein' able of taking out three full grown adults with guns without even a scratch."
Bobby leaned back in his own chair, eyeing the other hunter in speculation. "Not even once?"
"Nope, one of the kids that made it out said it moved too damn fast."
Sonya looked between the two of them curiously, listening to the conversation intently. "So what... It's like a super wendigo or something?"
Rufus looked at her with something akin to disgust and snorted. "A super wendigo?" His tone of voice suggesting he thought she was beyond stupid for even suggesting it.
"Well sorry for trying." Rolling her eyes, she got up and stalked out of the room and up the stairs to the spare bedroom Bobby had given her to use while she was there. If he wasn't going to be helpful, then she'd might as well find something to help herself. Moving over to the boxes piled in the corner, she opened the one on top and began shifting through the various books stacked inside.
During her stay here, all she had studied and read up on was the possibility of her being shuttled off to another universe or something, not once did she think about reading one of the many books Bobby had stacked around the house about supernatural creatures. Frowning slightly when she didn't find what she was looking for, she moved the box to the side and opened up the next one, intent on finding a book on wendigos for her to study.
The only thing she remembered from the show was they were weak to silver, but anything else she was drawing a blank on at the moment. Spotting a tattered book buried at the bottom of the box, she gently pulled it out and smiled at the title printed on the cover 'The Myth of the Wendigo'.
Not bothering to pick up the mess she made, Sonya settled down on the edge of the bed and opened the book on her lap, eyes eagerly scanning the words printed there. "A rotten humanoid with the head of a rotting deer? Disgusting." Grimacing, she turned the page and scrunched up her nose at the drawing. "Oh fantastic, it's the frikkin Flash of creatures." She added, noting the next page of information with a sigh.
"Tell me something good, book." Muttering under her breath, Sonya continued paging through it slowly, picking out various bits of information along the way. Silver did hurt them actually, at least she got that right. A grim smile fluttered across her lips before vanishing back into a concentrated frown as she continued on.
A coupe hours later, she walked downstairs to a silent house. The usual sounds of Bobby moving around in his study or the kitchen absent when she stopped to listen. Turning the corner, she peeked into the familiar room, thinking maybe they were busy looking at something only to be greeted by emptiness.
"That son of a-" Growling under her breath, Sonya walked in and right up to the desk where a spare cell phone sat next to a single piece of paper with Bobby's familiar scrawl across it.
Don't leave the house. Don't do nothin’ stupid, leave my whisky alone. Bobby
Followed by a phone number that she assumed was his at the bottom of the very short note. "Damn it, you asshole, if you had just waited a few minutes-" Grumbling to herself, she snatched up the phone and jabbed the number in. Holding it up to her ear, she listened to it ring a few times before going straight to voicemail. "You-" Biting back a few choice words, she snapped the phone shut and leaned both hands against the desk to try and calm down.
She'd give him a hour, maybe two tops before trying again. They had to stop sometime to either eat or gas up somewhere.
Damn that son of a bitch for leaving her here without a word! A goodbye would have been nice at the very least! Clenching her hands into fists, she sucked in a sharp breath and slowly let it back out, attempting to cool her rising temper before it got the best of her and she ended up with a broken phone for her trouble.
Letting out another long, slow breath, Sonya let the phone go and stepped back before she was tempted to try calling him again. "Just for this, I'm touching the whisky, old man." Nodding to herself, she spun on her heel and stalked into the kitchen in search of the bottle she knew he kept stashed away in there.
A few hours later, Sonya was laying across the couch, a nearly full whisky bottle clutched in one hand, the other flung across her eyes while she snored peacefully away. The silence of the house only broken by the occasional creak of the wood settling from the random gusts of wind.
The shrill ringing of a phone broke the silence abruptly, sending the girl off and onto the floor with a hard thud. Groaning in groggy pain, she crawled towards the desk and slapped a hand around on the top of it while she stayed on the floor.
Her fumbling only succeeded in knocking the phone off and sending it skittering across the floor much to her annoyance. It was loud damn it, and she had been having a... Good? Dream, she couldn't remember anymore to be honest.
Forgoing her attempts to stay on the floor for the duration of all this, she slowly climbed to her feet and stumbled towards the phone and leaned over to pick it up. Feeling her balance tip over, she leaned a shoulder heavily against the wall and slid back down to the floor.
Staring at the object in her hand for a moment, her fried brain attempted to remember just how she was supposed to use the damn thing before the bright idea to open it came to mind. Smiling slightly, she thumbed it open and stared at the screen. A number displayed in the center telling her whoever was calling.
Pursing her lips, Sonya pressed the green button and held it up to her ear. "U-yea?"
"What'd you call me for?"
"B-Bobby? Oh, hi, asshole. Thanks for leavin me." Sonya leaned her head back against the wall behind her and shut her eyes while the phone crackled softly in her ear. "Coulda said something."
"Didn't realize I had to. Not exactly a warden, are you-" He paused, for a moment before realization colored his tone. "Are you drunk?"
"No- well, a little." Sonya admitted with a shrug he didn't see. "Got nothin' else to do."
"You coulda kept looking for information." Bobby growled, clearly upset but in her current state of mind, Sonya merely stuck her tongue out at the phone. "You're no fun, old man."
"Old- Now listen here, sweetheart. If I come back and find my whisky gone-"
"Relaxxx." Sonya waved a hand in the air, eyes drifting over to the bottle and a sly smile tugged at her lips. "Ima lightweight. You're good."
"Look just..." He sighed on the other end, she could just picture him rubbing at his eyes in irritation at the moment and resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at the empty room again.
"Put the damn bottle up and get some sleep, Idjit. It won't take long to take care of this thing."
"Oh! No no, don't hang up." Sonya sat upright quickly, her head spinning slightly from the sudden movement. "I gotta tell ya somethin!"
A pause followed by another sigh. "What?"
"There's two of those wind a thingies." She smiled this time, triumphant at the fact she proved herself useful.
"There's what?"
"Two of them. That's why the-the leader people couldn't hit one. There were two."
"An what makes you say that?"
Frowning at the phone, Sonya sighed loudly and stumbled to her feet so she could slowly make her way back upstairs. "If- If there's two kis-uh Kids missing. An- And the leader people are all dead." She grunted and sat at the top of the stairs for a moment, giving her head time to stop swimming before getting to her feet again.
"Then- then I figured. What if there were two, workin- You know, coll- Colabe- Colia- Fuck, working together? It makes all the pieces fall together." Finally reaching her room, she flopped across the bed on her stomach and slid the book she had been reading over closer to her so she could page through it clumsily.
"Here- 'If food is- Is-" Sticking her tongue out in concentration, Sonya read the word to herself slowly before trying again. "Abun-dant food, then more than one Wind-a-gooo will like-likely hunt the same source'."
Flopping onto her back, she grinned up at the ceiling above her, listening to the silence on the other end of the phone. The steady hiss and crackle of connection puttering faintly in her ear.
"I'll look into it." He finally replied with a slight groan in his voice. "Get some sleep." A click followed by the beeping of an end call sounded in her ear before she let the phone drop from her hand and onto the bed beside her. Mission accomplished, now she could fucking relax. With a smile still on her face, she drifted back off to sleep, completely unaware of anything else in the world.
Oklahoma Robbers Cave State Park
"I'll be damned, Bobby. She was right." Rufus rubbed his head slightly as he stared down at the two Wendigo corpses in front of them. "Damned if I'll ever tell her that tho'."
Looking over at Bobby, he raised his eyebrows slightly at the other hunter when he looked up. "Where'd you say you found her again?"
"A old junker in my yard, that's where." Bobby grunted and reached up to take his cap off so he could rub his own head. "Dunno how she figured it out because I sure as hell didn't think of it." Shaking his head, he looked back down at the corpses on the ground. "Better get rid of 'em before someone walks up an' sees this."
"You go ahead, I'll just- go get something to eat when we're done." Rufus hedged, backing away a couple of steps and meeting Bobby's unamused look straight on. "You got this, right?"
Shaking his head, Bobby didn't even bother giving the other man a response as he picked up the canvas tarp and began wrapping them up. "I'll just see you at the entrance then?" Rufus continued, slowly back up while he spoke until Bobby waved a hand at him and turned around fully to disappear in the direction of the trail.
"Ain't like I'm not used to it." Bobby muttered to himself while he picked up the shovel and began to dig. Wasn't the first time Rufus dodged out of helping dig the hole, and it wouldn't be the last either.
Sticking the end into the ground, he grunted and began digging, his mind wandering to once again, circle around the fact Sonya had pinpointed there being two wendigo instead of one. Hell, he'd been hunting the damned things for years and never once thought of something like that happening.
Sticking the shovel back into the growing hole, he paused and leaned against it so he could look over at the wrapped figures thoughtfully. It was probably something he'd better pass around to the other hunters he knew just in case any of them ran into the same problem. He didn't like to think of what would happen if they had gone in blind without knowing there could be a second one.
One of them would have gotten hurt for sure, if not killed. Shaking his head once more, he turned back to the task at hand and hefted out another shovel of dirt. Now he'd have to find some way to thank the damned girl for very well saving their asses.
Balls.

F.A.Q. about me
What’s your name?
My real name I can’t reveal, since I live in a conservative Catholic small town in Latin America. However, for all intents and purposes, you can call me Semiramis or Sem. Rami, Maggie, Magpie, and all kinds of variants are ok too.
Where are you from?
I’m from Mendoza, Argentina!
Gender/sexuality?
I’m a bisexual woman. My pronouns are she/her and I’m perfectly ok with they/them, but NEVER with he/him.
What’s your age/sign?
I’m too lazy to change this every year, so I’ll just plain tell you my birth date is December the 21st, 1993, I was born during a Gibbous Moon. Zodiac wise I’m a Sagittarius sun, Mercury, and venus; Gemini ascendant; and Aries moon. I’m a Litha dusk born (Yule in the northern hemisphere). Here’s my natal chart:
Do whatever you feel with that info. I’m not a big believer of the zodiac and the signs.
What do you do for a living?
I’m a tour guide in a winery (aka I get paid to drink expensive wine and chit chat with people from all over the world). Also I’m a freelancing esoteric shop owner and I do tarot, oracle, and bone readings and dæmon reveals. Every once in a while I also work as a translator.
How can I send you a gift?
Frankly, my country basically doesn’t allow us to receive packages. The taxes are ridiculously high, so it’s… a bit of an issue.
How can I donate to your cause/tip you?
All donations are welcome via paypal or ko-fi!
What do you like?
I’m a big nerd. My obsessions include (but are not limited to) Star Wars, Bioshock, Fallout, Mystic Messenger, Inuyasha, World Of Darkness RPGs (specifically Vampire and Werewolf), Lord of the Rings, etc.
Music wise I listen to a little bit of everything, from metal to big band, indie pop to folk music, etc. I will listen to anything as long as I like the lyrics.
I love to read, write, and draw (even if I’m not good at it). I’m also into gaming and gardening. Sadly I don’t get the chance often, but I absolutely adore to ride horses. Also, I love to drive; really, put me behind a wheel with enough gas, and you won’t ever hear back from me.
What languages do you speak?
I’m a native Spanish speaker (of the Argentinean dialect), and I also speak English and Portuguese. I’m also currently learning Japanese and I plan to soon start learning ASL.
What’s your Hogwarts house?
Slytherin. One would think I’ve ever watched a full HP movie or read a single book out of how much pride I’ve got in my House.
What’s your dæmon?
A bear, most likely polar, but possibly a grizzly.
Are you in a relationship?
Nope, I’m single and loving it.
Why Semiramis, why a magpie, why a witchling?
It’s easier to answer backwards. My mentor called me a witchling I think during my second day into the (traditionally westernized) craft. I found the word too adorable and endearing while still retaining that idea of “I will burn you to the ground if you mess with me and the ones I love” that witches have. Semiramis and the magpie came together. Some time ago I was writing fan fiction of His Dark Materials (trilogy behind The Golden Compass) and the main character was a witch named of Adka Dengoji (went by Alice Danford for humans). Her dæmon was complicated to choose because I didn’t feel particularly inclined towards any bird. I had been writing it as a barn owl until pretty much out of nowhere I chose a magpie. They do represent magick and also Adka had sacrificed herself to a very lonely life despite the fact that witches have a very tight community. You know. “One for sorrow”. The name Semiramis just freaking came to me. I simply mumbled it out loud and liked it. I had no idea who Semiramis was or that I knew the name. However as soon as I googled her up and found she was a harlot queen sorceress I knew it was fate. Overall, I chose this particular persona because it already was I witch that lived in my head. I have to call myself this because I live in a small town in a small province in a Latin American country. The only other two (?) witches I’ve met have been harassed and threatened by the local conservative Catholic community.
Are you, like, an actual witch?
Yup.
Lol but magic isn’t real
Your mom isn’t real.
Feel free to add questions for me to answer in this post.

SCRAPBOOK 2017 TAKE 3, I GUESS!
Scrapbook for the third part of 2017, because tumblr doesn’t like it when you have a million links on one post hates me. Though I guess I have been paying a lot more attention to the music parts of these, so sigh.
Once more unto the breach!
Italicized titles = enjoyed muchly, bold titles = love, titles with an asterisk* = OBSESSION and titles in (brackets) are re-watches/re-reads. And lastly, strikethough = DISLIKE.
Goals are: read thirty-five new books this year (hah! still behind!), finish four video games (done? i think?), finish writing and publish the Sabriel AU (hah. hah.), and write something original (yeah, not doing so great on the goals here).

Twelve Days of Christmas. On the Eleventh Day of Christmas-
A/N: In which each day, Kagome gives Inuyasha a gift signed by his Secret Santa in hopes of bringing back his Christmas Spirit.
I got the idea from Hallmark as a prompt. Im just using the idea for the story, the only thing I kept the same from the movie is the newspaper, so don’t sue. I do not own Hallmark or Inuyasha and Co. So, enjoy! I’ll post a ficlet a day until December 25th. Enjoy everyone!
Now, be warned: this chapter is the beginning of the end. It's going to be about drama and angst. So technically, it won't have a happy ending like the ones before. But fear not! I will have a happy ending to the entire series. So keep seated and enjoy the ride. ;)
Internally I am screaming about how pissy this is because I am NOT an angst writer. I am Puppy kisses and Rainbows covered in Fluff then dipped in Smut. So forgive me, but I think it’s okay. Now to finish the final CHAPTER!
My loves, this is for you:

Day Eleven December 22, 2016:
---IK---
Sango was practically dripping sweat when Inuyasha walked through the front doors at eight AM sharp. He had a spring in his step and a smile that was far too bright for his usual annoyed self. He's in a great mood, dammit. She straightened her posture and smiled back -albiet it was an awkward smile- but a smile non the less. The half-demon, in the most un-Inuyasha-like manner, twirled around and handed Sango an envelope. The brunette eyed the white envelope cautiously. "What is this?"
Golden eyes sparkled as he softly shoved the paper into her hesitant hands. "It's a bonus. I wanted to make sure you knew how grateful I am that you made me give Kagome a chance on the Secret Santa thing." He gave her another mega watt grin before bouncing into his office where he knew the eleventh gift was waiting for him.
Sango face-palmed for she knew something he didn't know and she wasn't sure how long she could keep such a secret from him. As she opened the envelope and saw what bonus he had given her, she nearly fainted. Guilt welled inside her and Sango had to bite her tongue to keep from confessing. "Kagome better come clean, or I'll burst." She muttered as she made her way to Inuyasha's side.
"I knew it would be here. I can't wait to see what it is. Sango, call Kagome please. I want her to meet me."
Gulping, Sango pulled out her phone. "W-when and where?"
His right, black brow rose when he caught her stutter. "You okay San?"
Nodding quickly, she repeated herself. "When and where sir?"
Sir? When did Sango start to refer to me as sir? Shrugging it off, he peeled back the paper to the brown, package paper. "Now, if she can and at the cafe on Broad. I want to take her to breakfast." He continued to open the gift and smiled when he pulled out a green box decorated in white stock paper with silver glitter and snowflakes on the edging. In the center was two large, white snowballs that appeared to be sailing through the air. He lifted the lid carefully, removing the note and picking up a styrofoam ball covered in silver glitter.
On the eleventh day of Christmas,
My Secret Santa gave to thee;
Throw away your worries,
Leave behind your cares.
Bring along a friend,
and throw snowflakes in the air.
Merry Christmas, your Secret Santa.
"A snowball fight? Huh, that's sounds interesting. I'll call Kagura and see if I can pick up Rin on my way to see Kagome. Did you get ahold of her yet?"
Sango nodded. "Yes, she'll meet you there soon. Shall I call Kagura?"
Inuyasha shook his head. "Nah, I got it. Go visit that boyfriend of yours." He waved her off in good graces.
Sango did not need to be told twice. She fled the office and the building, racing for the Gazette as fast as she could in three inch heels.
---IK---
Kagome sat nervously at a table in the cafe she and Inuyasha visited frequently. She knew this as going to be the hardest thing she ever did, especially after all the things they had been through together. She twisted her fingers around one another until she heard her name being called as she was met with two pairs of golden eyes coming up the stairs to the second floor of the cafe.
Rin grinned as she flew to hug Kagome. Her raven locks pulled back into a tight braid, flew around her as she skidded to a halt and embraced the startled woman. "Kagome! Uncle Ash said we're going to have a snowball fight!"
Kagome smiled, despite the pain she was feeling, or was it guilt -no, it was both- and nodded. "If that's what the eleventh gift is, then I guess so. Are you excited?"
"Of course I am! So is he." Rin hooked a thumb over her shoulder to point at the half-demon staring fondly at Kagome.
"Hey." She smiled.
Inuyasha closed the distance between them to cup her face softly and kiss her. "Hey back." At the sound of Rin's giggles, Inuyasha blushed and pushed the child behind him. "Can it squirt." Rin just giggled some more.
Kagome was lost in his eyes and the determination to tell him about the job and her being his secret santa, flew out the window. He grabbed her hand as Rin grabbed the other and they tugged her gently out the door.
Her heart broke just a little at the thought of telling the truth. Before they made it to the lobby of the cafe, Rin released their hands and flew down the steps as if she were on a mission. "Daddy!" She jumped the remaining step and landed safely in her father's arms. The young girl nuzzled his neck, smiling ear to ear.
"She really loves him doesn't she?" Kagome asked smiling.
"Daddy's girl hands down. You should have seen him when she was born. I swear his heart grew three times that day." Kagome laughed at the pun used referring the Grinch, but in this case the Ice Lord himself.
"In other words, he melted a little?" Inuyasha snorted with a nod.
Sesshomaru had the faintest hint of a smile curl his lips as he held his daughter. "Rin, what have I told you about jumping off the stairs like that?"
"Sorry daddy, I was excited to see you."
"Hn." He kissed her temple before setting her on her feet. "Ah, Miss. Higurashi. I hear congratulations are in order."
Kagome paled as her brown eyes snapped to his face in horror. Oh please no. Not now. However, luck was not on her side.
"I was just informed that you were offered a job at our Seattle post."
"Seattle as in Seattle, Washington?" Inuyasha turned to Kagome who could only nod dumbly.
"Yes, brother. Washington."
"But that's three-thousand miles away!"
"It's actually only two-thousand-eight-hundred and fifty-seven point six miles away." Kagome whispered.
"She was offered a very impressive job, Inuyasha. I was intrigued in how she did it until I received a call from the Editor in Chief stating that her piece on your Secret Santa article was in fact impressive. It sealed the deal. They want her there after the first of the year. I thought she would have told you."
Kagome shook her head. "I was going to, I just didn't know how to tell you."
Inuyasha's forehead developed a crinkle as he thought for a moment. Soon he was wrapping his arms around her. "You deserve this, Kagome. I am happy for you. We can make this work between us. I'm not letting you go again." He whispered in her ear.
Tears welled up in her eyes and when she blinked, they fell hard and fast. She gripped his back and half cried, half laughed as she kissed him. "Thank you." She whispered.
Sesshomaru bent down to kiss his daughter's head before he gave a snort and walked up the stairs. "I'll see you tonight, brother."
"Yeah."
"Oh and Inuyasha-" said half-demon released the crying woman to look up at his brother. "-if you return Rin to us with even a the tiniest scratch, I'll maim you."
Rin huffed out a "Daddy!" before Inuyasha flipped him off. "I know how to take care of my girls!" With that, he grabbed them both and bolted for the door.
---IK---
Sango knocked on the door to the Higurashi house, panting. She expected Miroku to answer, but when Kikyou opened the door, Sango squeaked. "O-oh, K- Kikyou. I was expecting Miroku."
The newly, expecting mother laughed. "I see. Well, even though he doesn't technically live her anymore, you're welcome to come in. He's actually eating us outta house and home."
Finally catching her breath, Sango laughed as she was led through the door. Miroku was indeed in the kitchen eating Kikyou out of house and home. When violet eyes landed on his woman, fork half way to his open mouth, he dropped said fork and ran to her side. "Sango. Please tell me you didn't mention anything to Inuyasha."
Closing her eyes and leaning back, Sango wiped spewed bits of eggs off her face. "Miroku, say it, don't spray it!"
Miroku covered his mouth and finished swallowing. "Sorry, love."
Kikyou handed her a napkin. "Did you tell him?"
Thanking her for the offering, Sango shook her head. "No. I left as quick as I could. You have to understand the guilt I feel for keeping this from him. He is so happy, I mean disgustingly happy, and he gave me a bonus for Christmas and I can finally pay off my car-" Sango rambled as the other two looked at her as if she was growing another head. "-it's killing me! He finally found someone to make him happy, really happy. And since his mother died, he finally found his Christmas spirit again. Inuyasha is a lot of things, but being common sense smart isn't one of them. For the love he hasn't figured out Kagome is his secret santa-" She gasped and slapped a hand over her mouth as Miroku's fell open.
"Excuse me?! Kagome is the one whose been giving him all these gifts?!" Miroku shrieked like a harpy. Sango and Kikyou nodded. Violet eyes widened and he pointed an accusing finger in her direction. "You knew too?"
Kikyou lifted her arms in a shrug and nodded. "I did, but so what? I'm her twin. She tells me everything."
Her cousin was having none of it and growled. "That story got her a new job, away from us, you know." Again the twin nodded. "I'm happy for her too, but did she plan this out all along?"
Kikyou smacked him upside the head. "No, idiot. Kagome just wanted to show Inuyasha the Christmas he had forgotten. He's the one who brought her home nine years ago during that blizzard that almost stranded her to the campus."
Sango's brow lifted up as she looked to Miroku for confirmation. "The one she fell in love with?"
"Yes. The job was just as much a shock to her as it was to us. Let her figure things out." Kikyou kissed his cheek. "I'm going to eat, if you left anything for me to eat that is."
He sighed. "Yeah, yeah."
"And you better no have eaten my last donut." She warned as she made her way to the kitchen.
Sango jumped as his eyes suddenly widened and he grabbed her wrist hissing for her to run. He pulled her along to the door and started throwing on his coat and shoes. Sango was about to ask what was wrong when she heard a loud thud and a scream. "MIROKUUUU! You ate my donut?!"
Said man paled as he drug his girlfriend out into the snow. "You ate a pregnant woman's food?" He nodded. "What the hell, Miroku?!" She smacked him twice, just for being an idiot.
---IK---
Rin laughed as she hid behind a large tree in the park, large, white balls of snow flying in every direction. Peeking around the tree, she noticed her Uncle's back to her, -obviously he was honed in on Kagome's direction- and she let a ball of ice sail through the air. When it collided against his broad back, she stiffened when he stood straight and turned narrowed golden orbs on her. Rin squealed, ducking for cover. "Kagome! He's gonna get me!"
Inuyasha chuckled as he snuck up on her and tackled her to the snow with a tickle fight. Rin squealed harder, alerting Kagome to the attack. Inuyasha caught a glimpse of raven hair as Kagome darted behind a bench. "Silly wench, I see you!" He paused the attack on his niece to stare at her hunched form.
Kagome laughed as she stood up, right arm behind her back. "I know." With a wink to Rin, that went unnoticed, the eight year old giggled and shoved a handful of frozen water down her uncle's shirt. He yelped, jumping up unaware of his sneaky wench. Kagome let loose a string of snow balls she had pre-made to assault the half-demon.
"I was a diversion!" Rin yelled as she took off running.
Inuyasha growled playfully. "Oh yeah?" With wide, golden eyes, Rin gulped and took off running as fast her demonic legs would take her. Kagome stared wide eyed at the speed in which she was displaying and never noticed Inuyasha until it was too late. He barreled into her, tackling her and smothering her with swift licks to the neck and cheek. "Ew! Doggy kisses!" She howled in laughter.
Rin stopped to add to the dog pile, pun intended, and laughed with Kagome. When everyone caught their breath, Rin noticed something shiny on Kagome's scarf. "What's this?" She pulled back her hand to reveal silver, glitter-coated claws. "Glitter?"
Kagome shot straight up and tried dusting herself off, but it was too late. Inuyasha held up one end of her scarf and investigated the substance. He recalled the glitter from his gift he received only a few hours prior. When he finally put them together, he heard his brother's earlier statement in his head: "-I received a call from the Editor in Chief stating that her piece on your Secret Santa articles was in fact impressive. It sealed the deal." It sealed the deal Frowning, he turned to her. "Kagome?"
She gulped, but smiled anyway. "I was going to tell you-"
"That you're my fucking Secret Santa?" She gasped as she sat back causing Rin to stand and move back at the flare of Inuyasha's demonic energy. Rin mumbled a quiet 'Uncle Ash?' before he too stood. "What the actual hell, Kagome?!"
"I was going to tell you, but being a Secret Santa is kinda self explanatory! It was a SECRET!" Kagome defended, standing as well, dusting off the snow coating her jeans.
"A secret my ass. You used me!" He howled, Rin backed away when she noticed the red seeping into his golden hued eyes. She sat on the bench Kagome had hidden behind earlier that day.
Kagome placed her hands on her hips. "What are you talking about?"
"You started the whole thing to get a story out of me! You only used me to get a promotion didn't you?!"
"What? No! I would never do that! I never expected anything from doing this-"
"Oh bullshit! You planned it from the moment you saw me again. Use the guy who was buying the Gazette so she could advance her career. Did you know I was back in town when you "ran" into me that day?" Inuyasha's anger was morphing from pissed off to sad fast.
"No, Inuyasha. Miroku told me to do a piece on the man buying the company so I could prove I was fit to do my job since you were buying us out."
He pointed a clawed finger in her direction. "You admit it! That fucking pervert told you to write about me! You just added a little glitter and girly shit to the mix! Clever girl."
It was Kagome's turn to fume. "Watch your mouth about my family! We had no idea it was you! I had no idea! Honestly. I just didn't want to get fired. The only reason I did the twelve gifts was to help bring back your Christmas Spirit, jerk!"
Inuyasha scoffed. "Yeah right. This was all a ploy and I can't believe I actually believed it. I can't actually believe I trusted you." He spat.
"Hold on a minute! I didn't think this would end up twisted-"
"Well, it did. Here I was falling in fucking lo-" he shook his head. "-no, you pull this shit. You betrayed my trust, and my feelings!" He pushed past her to walk away.
Kagome's eyes widened with tears at the sentence he almost finished. Before she could think, she scooped up some snow and threw a snowball, -hard- at his back. "You jerk!" Inuyasha stopped, but never turned around. "I never meant for this to happen. My feelings were real. They are real. I had nothing to do with the job. I never knew anything about it. In fact I never even agreed to take it. As for the gifts, I was just doing that for you. Inuyasha, please. I love you." The tears fell like a waterfall.
He stiffened, but soon shook it off. "Rin lets go." He reached for her hand and she hesitantly took it. Her eyes still pinned on Kagome's face, tears still streaming freely down reddened cheeks and her nose slightly damp.
"But, she said she-"
"I heard what she said. Did you hear what I said? Let's go." He growled.
Rin cringed at his tone, but nodded and followed her uncle quietly. She looked over her shoulder to see Kagome fall to her knees, hands clutched to her chest and still crying. She heard a faint whisper and by the look on Inuyasha's scrunched face, he heard it too.
"I love you, Inuyasha." Kagome watched as they walked through the falling snow to get in his truck and when the sound of his engine roared to life, she covered her face and howled out her despair. She couldn't possible watch them drive out her life forever.
It was at that moment the sound of shattering erupted in the air, Kagome being the only one who heard it. When she took a shuddering breath, she realized it was the sound of her heart breaking. It wasn't until several minutes later did Kagome drag herself from the snow and walk home.
Inuyasha. I have to make this right.
Inuyasha viciously wiped tears from his eyes as he refused to cry in front of his niece. Apparently, she was the only girl in his life who loved him unconditionally, for the woman he fell head over heels for, stabbed him in the back. He figured Kagome was walking back home laughing at how foolish he was for trusting her. "Who could ever love a half-demon like yourself?" He sneered when the thought crossed his mind. "That bitch." He hissed.
Rin sat quietly in the passengers seat. She knew he was just upset, that he really loved Kagome and this would fade soon. She reached over to touch his white knuckles gripping the wheel. Almost instantly, Inuyasha relaxed and held her tiny hand. No words passed between them the whole ride home.
Please, whoever is up there listening. Make this right. Uncle Ash and Kagome belong together. Don't let this be the end. Rin opened her eyes and smiled. Things would work out. She just knew it.
---To Be Continued---

Towa and Setsuna’s Birthdays
Now that Yashahime Episode 15 Farewell Under the Lunar Eclipse has aired, we are able to pin-point some new information, in the same way that we had found out
InuYasha’s birthday -

How long Kagome was in the Feudal Era -

InuYasha’s Birthday being December 4th 1294 and Kagome’s being April 30th 1981
In Yashahime Episode 15, we are told of a tale from Riku the Pirate - that takes place 18 years previously.
How long Kagome was in the Feudal Era - From April 1996 - 1997, then to 2000 when she finally returns. Six months later October 1500 [Fictional], with the addition of the one month visit from Hosenki II during November 1500 [Fictional]
A timeskip occurs four years later and we see the birth of Towa and Setsuna, during this time. We are told about the Grim Comet that appears every 500 years.During this time, it is also a total lunar eclipse much like when InuYasha was born.
Using this information we can trace back when Towa and Setsuna were born in both the Fictional and Historical timelines through weather patterns and lunar cycles. We know that InuYasha takes place during the 1540s in our real life history based on the Wide Edition interview, and in the Fictional sense, it takes place during the earlier 1500s. With this we can come up with two answers by adding the months tracing back the Moon phases -
Twins statistically give birth earlier than a full pregnancy term so there’s possible variances https://www.verywellfamily.com/reasons-twins-are-born-early-2447302
Based on our Historical timeline, Towa and Setsuna would be born on a total lunar eclipse visible from Japan
August 4th 1552
Based on our Fictional timeline, Towa and Setsuna would be born February 18th 1505
Towa and Setsuna
August 4th 1552 [Historical]
February 18th 1505 [Fictional]

Inuyasha & Yashahime Translation: Shounen Sunday Super December Edition
Takahashi Rumiko-Sensei’s Question Corner Rumic Question
From the many questions we received from readers via the web, we chose 20 questions for Takahashi Rumiko-sensei to answer!!
Q: The names of the characters in “Inuyasha” are not only original but fit them so well that you can’t think of any other name; peerlessly cool good taste! How did you come up with their names?
Once you name a character, you cannot change it so that’s what I worry about the most. Even if I give them a temporary name for when they make their debut, if it doesn’t stick I will think all the way up to the last minute. While all I can say is “That was the name that fit that character” … a name that is easy to call, draw, and remember. A name that fits the story. For example, in flower language, Kikyou means “Unchanging love” or how Kagome is like a children’s song and cute. I feel like Sesshomaru originally had a different name, but I forgot. On the other hand, I remember the outfit design solidified when I decided on the name.
Q: There are a lot of demons that appear in “Inuyasha” but who was the hardest and easiest to draw?
Magatsuhi was the hardest to draw. He didn’t have a solid form afterall. Also I drew them as I pleased so I don’t remember really struggling.
Q: Is Buyo a male or a female?
When serialization first started, I thought they were a male at first but as I continued to draw, I started to think “This cat might be an old lady”. They might be a female. Well Buyo is Buyo so I think it’s fine if everyone decides for themselves whether Buyo is a male or a female.
Q: I want to know how Sesshomaru and Jaken first met. Was Jaken an old man from the time they first met?
I remember their meeting being drawn in an original episode in the “Inuyasha” anime. I can’t remember which episode number though. According to that, Jaken was a demon leader who lost to Sesshomaru in battle and thus decided to follow him, I think that was the scenario. And I think he was an old man as well.
Q: If Kikyo had lived on, would she and Kagome have been good friends
As long as Inuyasha is around, I think it would be really hard for them to be friends like nothing happened… I imagine they would have this strange tension between them as they accepted the other while feeling uneasy. I don’t think Inuyasha could mentally handle that either.
Q: I like small creatures that appear in the Rumic World like Kilala and Shippou so could you tell us what you focus on when drawing these small creatures?
I make sure that they’re fundamentally cute in appearance. Also because of how small they are, they ride on a main character’s shoulder. Anyhow, I make sure they can share the spotlight.
Q: I think Tessaiga is a good sword that is considerate of the main character such as when it gives Inuyasha a warning so as not to hurt him but Inuyasha treats it so recklessly in comparison. (Though he acts like that fully trusting Tessaiga) If Tessaiga could talk, what do you think it would say to Inuyasha? I have loved “Inuyasha” since I was in elementary school and I’ve viewed the manga and anime but looking back, I feel Tessaiga was gallant in responding to Inuyasha’s recklessness… I was curious about this so I decided to ask.
Tessaiga is a sword forged from his (Inuyasha) father’s fang so while being Inuyasha’s “friend”, I would guess that it might be an existence of higher status. If it could talk, it would probably say “Hurry up and catch up to me”
Q: Thank for the Anime Support Project. “What a time to be alive to be able to send a question to Takahashi Rumiko-sensei” Is what I think (laughs). I’ve loved “Inuyasha” since I was a child and it’s my life’s “bible”. I admired Kagome and lived thinking that I want to be a kind, strong woman like her. Now here is my question: There was a scene where Sesshomaru said “I don’t eat human food” but for a demon that doesn’t attack humans, what does he eat to sustain his life? I mean Inuyasha and Shippou ate with Kagome and the others so do demons and humans eat the same thing? Was Sesshomaru by chance bluffing with that line? Lastly, I look forward to the serialization of “Hanyou no Yashahime” and “MAO”! Thank you for all the wonderful works.
Thank you for your support. Sesshomaru’s meals, I can’t imagine it after all. There’s a possibility he absorbs mists of “essence” or “energy” of the demons he’s defeated. Also fruits are another possibility.
Q: Within “Inuyasha”, is there a story that was most fun for you to draw? Also I would love for sensei to tell us your best (favorite) episode!
I have a lot of favorite episodes so it’s hard to decide. Black haired Inuyasha on the Night of the New Moon was refreshing and fun, and the stories of Inuyasha going to the Modern Era and loosening up as he took a break from fighting had me in many laughing fits. Also drawing the story for the Band of Seven made me excited. And, while fun may not be the right word, I put a lot of effort into Kagura’s death and Kikyou’s last moments with the idea that I wanted to give them a proper send off. The process of Kagome and Inuyasha and Miroku and Sango’s relationship gradually changing was also fun. Ultimately if I had to pick one, it’s probably the final episode. I finished drawing it feeling “I finally made it” and it was satisfying.
Q: I love the Band of Seven in “Inuyasha”! Did Bankotsu, who is the strongest member of the Band of Seven, scout the others? Bankotsu and Jakotsu seem close so are they the first members? I’ve always wondered this. I look forward to appealing enemies appearing in Yashahime.
I think all the other members of the Band of Seven most likely had enough strength to make it on their own. For all those people to come together would require a very strong leader at its core which is basically what Bankotsu was. Also, being together made jobs easier or they felt there may have been a merit. I feel like Bankotsu and Jakotsu being the founding members does indeed fit really nicely.
Q: I really like Monk Miroku and Sango in “Inuyasha” and I continue to support them even now. My question is in the end, how many children did these two, who said “Would you be willing to bear 10, 20 children?” when they purposed, have? If you have back stories and such for the children, I would love to hear them.
I only remember the twins and the newborn baby boy that appeared in the last chapter of “Inuyasha” making an appearance in Yashahime. In my mind, I didn’t think of anything beyond that but they are still a young married couple so I think there’s unlimited possibilities. I am happy that you like these two even now. Thank you very much.
Q: I have a question regarding the different use for “Scent” and “Odor”. The expressions for when Sesshomaru smelled something, for Rin it was constantly “scent” and for everything else it was “odor”. When they first met too, the expression was “A human’s scent”. Just as Inuyasha called Kagome’s smell a “scent”, is it because it is a “smell” that they like?
I had an image of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru differentiating between friend or foe with “smell”. Of course “scent” is friend while “odor” is enemy. In addition, keeping in mind of the image that comes to readers minds when they see these words, I fundamentally had “scent” used for female characters. I wanted readers to get a sense of purity and cuteness from it.
Q: If there’s an episode or scene in “Inuyasha” that ended up turning out differently than what was originally thought up prior to serialization, could you please tell us?
First, I only started the story with the idea of half-demon Inuyasha, getting back stabbed by Kikyou and getting sealed away, and having a sword that was his father’s memento. Everything else, I created while thinking on the week of. Thus, Naraku came after, as well as I thought of Shippou, Miroku, and Sango when they debuted. I had thought of Sesshomaru possibly dying after protecting a human but it seemed like such a waste and I became unable to kill him. The direction of the story was decided when the antagonist, Naraku, was born. I’m an adlib (improv) type person so I won’t be surprised by what I draw if I decide things too far ahead. It’s fun to imagine every week “What will they do, what will happen”.
Q: “Inuyasha” is my bible on life! When talk of Yashahime happened, what was your first thought?
In my mind “Inuyasha” was complete so when they spoke to me about this, I thought “You’re going to do this?”. However Sumizawa-san, who handled the scenario for the “Inuyasha” anime, is a person who, in addition to being adept and talented, does not make mistakes so I felt that I could leave it to him.
Q: In the final chapter of the original work, Sesshomaru was gifting Rin a kimono but how did he go about obtaining it? I’m really curious as to if Sesshomaru delivered something Jaken prepared or if he went and bought it himself?
I thought about this over and over after I received this question. I think after all, he would order Jaken to go buy it and to continue buying until he bought a kimono that fit his image. On top of that, he probably doesn’t tell him (Jaken) a precise image to begin with.
Q: In “Hanyou no Yashahime” we saw Grandma Kaede. Seeing her surprised me… she hasn’t changed from the time of “Inuyasha”! Is Grandma Kaede by chance a demon?
She’s a human. However she still has the role of advising the young folks and having them listen to stories from the past so maybe she doesn’t age because it’s something worth doing.
Q: In “Hanyou no Yashahime”, Inuyasha and Kagome’s child, Moroha, appears. Inuyasha is a half demon, Kagome is a human, and Moroha is cross between a human and a half-demon. Do the three of them age differently in the Feudal Era?
In the span of the story, they seem to age the same. I’m sure the results will gradually begin to show after a few decades.
Q: In “Hanyou no Yashahime” Moroha wears a red ribbon; is this ribbon something with Inuyasha’s ears in mind? Also why is it that Inuyasha, who is a half-demon, has dog ears but Towa and Setsuna, who are also half-demons, do not? I can under Moroha since she’s a quarter (demon)… is there a basis for the dog ears? Please tell us!
Just as you guessed, Moroha’s ribbon was a projection of Inuyasha’s image. In regards to the dogs ears for Towa and Setsuna, Sesshomaru takes a human form and reversely, Inuyasha was something like half beast. The half demons that appear in Inuyasha have all sorts of appearances so understand that it depends on the individual.
Q: Ever since I watched the anime, “Inuyasha”, when I was 5 years old, it has been my absolute favorite work. When I was young, whenever I looked at the sacred tree at the shrine, I always imagined “Was Inuyasha sealed to this tree?...” It’s been 12 years since the original work was concluded. 10 years since the anime “Final Act”. I’m so excited for “Hanyou no Yashahime” beginning this fall! What was the most important thing when you designed the half-demon princess, Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha?
Scenario writer Sumizawa-san asked of me the following images: Towa as a “White Sesshomaru” and Setsuna as a “Black Sesshomaru”. While they’re twins, they grew up in two completely different eras so I designed them as two separate individuals. In addition, while Towa wears a boy’s uniform, I thought it would be good if she had a feminine streak to her. Moroha strongly resembles Inuyasha and Kagome. She’s a cheerful character so I didn’t have any second thoughts when I drew her into what she is now.
Q: Is there anything in “Hanyou no Yashahime” that you would like readers to pay attention to?
Sunrise’s beautiful pictures and animations as well as the story is also entertaining. The previous generation will periodically make an appearance and I think Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha are each charming. I think it’s a work that both first time people and people who watched “Inuyasha” can enjoy. Also Wada Kaoru-san continues from “Inuyasha” as being in charge of music. I’m excited for this as well.
We received a comment, autograph, and illustration for all the readers from Takahashi Rumiko-sensei!
