Kultivierter Judenhass. Antisemitismus im Kunstbetrieb

Podiumsgespräch mit Lars Henrik Gass, Lukas Sarvari und Jonathan Guggenberger

Eine Veranstaltung des Bündnisses gegen Antisemitismus Halle und der Jüdischen Gemeinde Halle in Kooperation mit dem Literaturhaus.

Künstler, die Juden mit Nazis auf der letzten documenta vergleichen, Filmemacher, die auf der Berlinalebühne Israel einen Genozid unterstellen, eine Veranstaltung der regionalen Kunsthochschule mit Verfechtern der BDS-Kampagne – die moderne und internationale Variante des Naziaufrufes „Kauft nicht bei Juden“: Die Liste der judenfeindlichen Werke und Aktionen im Kunstbetrieb ist lang. Reaktionen folgen erst, wenn der Judenhass nicht mehr zu leugnen ist. Oder es gibt zunächst spontan Applaus und später die offizielle Distanzierung. Gerade seit dem 7. Oktober 2023 präsentiert sich ein Teil der Kunstszene als Avantgarde des postkolonialen Judenhasses.

Im Podiumsgespräch gehen Lars Henrik Gass, Lukas Sarvari und Jonathan Guggenberger auf die Ursachen ein, warum im Kunstbetrieb der Antisemitismus so offen zutage tritt.

Lars Henrik Gass, Autor, Filmkurator und -theoretiker zum zeitgenössischen Kino, leitet seit 1997 die Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen. Ab 2025 wird Lars Henrik Gass als Gründungsdirektor das neue Haus für Film und Medien in Stuttgart aufbauen. Lukas Sarvari ist Germanist, Redakteur der Zeitschrift casa|blanca. Texte zur falschen Zeit und im Jungen Forum der Deutsch-Israelischen Gesellschaft in Frankfurt aktiv. Jonathan Guggenberger studierte Bildende Kunst, Film- und Politikwissenschaft in Berlin. Für die taz, Freitag und Tagesspiegel schreibt er über digitale Bildkulturen, Erinnerungspolitik und Antisemitismus in Kunst und Kultur. Im Oktober 2024 erschien Opferkunst. Novelle in der Edition Tiamat.

Questo short film è stato proiettato prima di Lo Schiaccianoci della Disney in tutti i Pathé Cinema nei Paesi Bassi.

Filmmakers of many types have long been drawn to the complex “mytho-poetic” realm of dreams, trance-states, meditative solitude, the underworld, the deepest ocean, the darkest crypt ... Gudrun Krebitz names it the “magical dimension”, and her oneiric film is at once both an immersion in this shadowy, intoxicating realm, and a critical, self-doubting, reflexive examination of it. Freely mixing live footage and animation, using pictorial superimpositions and a multi-layered sound design (...) her film intermingles snatches of Berlin and Venice, in its impressionistic passage through an inner, ever transforming landscape. Director: Philbert Aime Mbabazi Year: 2018 Genre: Drama/ Diaspora Runtime: 27 Minutes Philbert Aime Mbabazi Sharangabo`s first short film “Ruhago/Destiny FM” (2012) won the SIGNIS award for best emerging filmmaker in East Africa at Zanzibar International Film Festival in 2012. He later made three other short films that screened in international film festivals before he attended Haute École d’Art et de Design in Geneva where he graduated in 2017. His first school film "The Liberators“ (2016) premiered in competition at Vision du Réel Nyon 2016 and later received a Special Mention at Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur in the Swiss Film school category. His second school short film „Versus“ (2016), premiered in compétition at Uppsala International Film Festival 2016 and screened in competition at Oberhausen Film Festival, Tampere Film Festival and Message to Man IFF.
