For a long time now, Samah and her family have not been able to enjoy living in a house. They are from Jabalia, and their home has been destroyed by Israeli warplanes.
I've been talking to Samah ( @samah-h ) who is verified by Bilal ( @bilal-salah0 ). I'm going to be blunt: she needs to raise another $5,000 to help with her 2 year old daughter. Right now, the Rafah crossing is closed—but that doesn't mean that our donations don't make a difference. If we need money in our every day, how much more so must people surviving a genocide? As Samah has written on Tumblr, the cost of living and basic survival needs is high. Her daughter (and Samah and the rest of her family!) needs warm clothes and basic healthcare. Samah also has a newborn, who requires infant formula and diapers.
Not only does Samah have children of her own, but her husband is now responsible for three of his siblings. One of those siblings has a child of their own. They have been displaced multiple times, and are still in constant danger. Bombings, airstrikes, and snipers make life extremely perilous for Samah and her family.
Not only that, but as I said before, their home was destroyed!!! They live in tents now, and winter is fast approaching. It will be the rainy season in Palestine soon, and while most of us can listen to the rain from the comfort of our homes, Samah is forced to endure these conditions in a tent. Fall, winter, summer, fall, and soon winter again. They've been exposed to immense heat and immense cold, with no insulation but a tarp.
Disease is also rampant in Gaza due to the unsanitary conditions created by the genocide. Not only that, Samah was forced to give birth without anesthesia in deplorable conditions!!! Keep in mind that Samah has three young children, and children are often sick at the best of times. Donation money can also go towards healthcare.
Our donations can help provide basic living materials that Samah desperately needs. And when the Rafah crossing reopens, they will need money in order to leave for Egypt.
As of now, 39 people have recently donated to her campaign—let's raise that number!!
$5,816 / $10,000

Your ceiling fell.
Well...
To be exact, there isn't a hole that lets the spiders and birds able to look down and see the base of your kitchen sink but when the inside surface of the roof fell, so did the insulator that kept the house warm during the frosty winter, and cool in the scorching summer. Because of the unstable roof condition, your whole family was wary of putting the air conditioning system on. The vibration from the machine and the sound waves themselves may be the little push it needs to send other parts of the roof crumbling.
You hate the hot weather so much.
In this period of the summer, when opening the windows was barely an option as it also let the heat through, it has been hard even to do anything remotely productive. With every move of your body, it generates heat and energy, which when mixed with the thirty-five-degree heat, all you want to do is lay on your bed and let the sweat evaporate off your skin with the help of your tower fan. That's how the mornings would go. Sometimes when you're not too tired from the previous day's work, you would go and take shelter in the library, turning confused heads when you would be wearing a jacket as overtime, it became too cold.
The worst thing is that there has been no word from the insurance company or the people who could help to fix the hole in your ceiling. Unfortunately, it did fall during the peak holiday season but at this point, when it’s no longer the festive season, no one in your family understands what’s going on with the back-and-forth messy conversations to fix the issue.
The past three months have been full of frustrating calls to your boyfriend but Jaemin has been picking up your phone call at the second time his ringtone rings, greeting you with that emphasising smile of his as he sees the layer of moisture on your face. At first, you tried to give him the best smile you could, but you eventually broke down after the first month, completely done with changing your clothes every day in every hour. Jaemin, though busy with his own responsibilities, never fails to take you out whenever he can, accompanying you in your aimless night time walks or accompanying you to the library where he would start reading a random book while you snooze on his shoulder.
Today is one of the nights where you can’t handle sleeping in the house, too hot and uncomfortable for your eyes to even think about closing. You guiltily text Jaemin, asking if he’s able to have you over and within a few minutes, the black-haired arrives at your house, air conditioner blasting in his car and a genuine smile greeting you as soon as you step in. He waits outside his car with his oversized shirt and short pants; his usual summer attire. He kisses your frown away as soon as you rush into his arms, dropping your bag of clothes to the floor. His affectionate gaze for you grows, cupping your cheeks in his hands to hush you from the apologies that you would say for going out so late at night even though you insisted that the five-minute walk was fine to do.
“No,” Jaemin juts his lower lip to you adorably. “Not letting you do that!” He presses another quick peck on your lips that makes your cheeks heat up and makes you a stuttering mess. “I’m hungry! Let’s go grab some food first!”
You let out a knowing chuckle, shaking your head at him fondly as you know that just means another movie night that will go on until five am. To Jaemin, this is the best kind of date: the one that is unplanned but is planned at the same time. With the way that you’re literally having the worst summer ever as well, all he wants to do is to make sure that at least when you look back on this summer, you will remember his air conditioner blasting in his room. Bonus, the later you sleep, the more time you’ll have in a cooled, comfortable and private environment.
But you know deep down, that you will always remember his warm, kind heart first out of all.
With hands full of takeout from the nearest fast food to his house, Jaemin talks you through his list of movies that he wants to check out before you both fall asleep. He was so excited that he nearly missed the step up to his room, almost waking up the whole house with how his body would tumble down the staircase otherwise. But oh how much he would if it meant that you wouldn’t be crying on the humid, summer night.
"It's perfect, Jaem."
You comment when Jaemin asks you about the temperature of his room and he gives you a relieved look, smiling in satisfaction to know your thoughts. Jaemin starts to unload the snacks in his arm on his study table, prompting you to do the same. He turns his sleeping laptop on, waiting for his device to start up.
In the meantime, his attention falls on you once more. "You must've been overwhelmed." His arm spreads open, silently asking if you would accept his gesture.
All you gave was a quiet hum and it momentarily worries him before you step to bury your head into his broad chest. You sigh into his perfect body temperature that balances the coolness trapped in the four walls. The corners of Jaemin’s lips rise as he starts shifting his body side to side, giving the hug a little more dynamic and comfort as he starts to sing your favourite tune to your ears. His fingers rake across your hair, not minding the whines and complaints you gave about how your hair is disgusting and oily, even pressing a kiss to your scalp to ease your worries.
Your arms start to find home around his waist and your palm grips the fabric of the shirt even more, feeling eternally thankful for having a loving person in your life. A mutter, “Thank you for all this.” Your voice trails off, eyelids heavy and honestly, quiet snores could leave your lips at any moment now.
“Always, bubs,” he muses back. “Maybe we can skip the movie night today?”
The suggestion pulls your lips into a sour smile but you can’t hide the drowsiness in your system after getting small hours of sleep for the past week. “We have food.” But truly, it’s nothing that food can’t fix.
A raised eyebrow meets you when you slightly pull back to see the reaction on Jaemin’s face. “Food and horror movies.”
The shared favourite genre makes you break out into a genuine smile, excited for the movie marathon cuddled up in his bedsheets and the smell of food as you both expose yourself to the light from the computer until the sun replaces the moon. Jaemin watches you excitedly walk back to the door of his room where your bag slumps over on the wall next to the frame.
“You don’t want to wear mine?” The suggestion is said with a smirk from him and your hands stopping to unzip your bag halfway. “Guess not!”
“No! I do!” You drag the last syllable out and when you turn to face him once more, Jaemin only lets out a teasing smile. “Let me steal!”
Indeed, Jaemin already has everything prepared for you, tilting his chin to his bed where some of his and your favourite hoodies are spread across the duvet. You spot the emerald green one, immediately jumping from your kneeling position on the floor and making the neat pile topple over at your eagerness.
Jaemin feigns fake offence and an exaggerated gasp, “All my hard work!” He weeps to which you just roll your eyes as a response, continuing to take out your shower and night necessities to prepare for the night.
“Alright.” A heavy sigh follows after, “I’m going to sho—”
But before you could take another step towards the bathroom, a pair of arms pulls you backwards, your back colliding with a chest that you know all too well. You can’t see the expression on his face but another thing that you know about Jaemin is when he leans down to press his cheek on yours, humming once more into your embrace, his cheeks are painted with hues of red and pink—his love for you overflowing from the simple back hug gesture.
“What you doing, Nana?” It deepens his blush, melting with how the nickname naturally sounds lovelier coming from you.
“Just go brush your teeth and shower in the morning.” He mumbles against your cheek. “I want to go on this movie marathon with you right now.”
“But you hate it the most when someone lays on your bed without washing up.”
That’s also true. He does hate that a lot.
The idea of outside germs reaching the place where he would be closing his eyes and be in another space for hours never fails to bring a scowl to his face and he always makes sure everyone who visits his space is aware of that fact.
But it’s you—and Jaemin loves you more to overlook that fact for a day.
“I’m planning on changing the sheets anyway.” He shrugs his shoulders nonchalantly, “Plus, I literally get grease and pieces of chocolate on there anyways so I think I may need to change my mindset about that rule now…”
The mention of the substances makes you gasp, a similar one to the one he directed at you before. “Na Jaemin!” The playful slap on his arm only makes his hold against your body tighter, sending you both into a fit of laughter.
Amid the chaos you created, Jaemin makes his point clear with the previous topic, throwing himself still clad in his dirty clothes onto his bed and taking you down with him. You yelp at the sudden fall, throwing everything out of your hands to muffle the sound of your mouth, aware of the sleeping couple not too far away from this room.
“Oops! Gotta change it tomorrow, I guess!”
“Na Jaemin, stop! I’m still going to shower anyway!”
So begins the shoving and wiggling for you to escape his strong grip on his bulky arms. You know shortly after running out of breath that it’s a better choice to rest your head on his pectoral, giving up on both the shower and possibly the movie night. The laughter dies down, but never the love that Jaemin shows for you. On the back of your head, you can feel his thumping heartbeat, the rhythm making your eyelids fall naturally.
Jaemin carefully slides you over to the mattress on his side, turning his body to face the girl he loves the most in this world. His eyelashes flutter quietly, quieter than the humming of the white rectangular machine stuck high onto his wall. He doesn’t bother waking you up, content with the tiny snores you let out through the small gap between your lips.
“And to think you were scolding me minutes ago.” Bopping your ice-cold nose with the pad of his pointer finger. “Okay, at this point you’re going to freeze.”
Though exhausted and body screaming to just fall asleep then and there, Jaemin pulls himself back to the edge of the bed, standing and stretching his four limbs. He quickly retreated to the connecting bathroom, picking up your discarded items that he made you toss to avoid his parents from waking up and scolding the young couple in love—though he knows they will just scold him given how much his parents adore everything about you.
Scared that you would soon wake up in the very uncomfortable posture that you have right now, more than half your feet dangling off the bed, Jaemin swiftly completes his night routine, skipping the one that would make his dentist question his habits but he pushed the thought aside for now. As quiet as he could, he makes his way over to your still peaceful figure. His knees sink into the bed, eyes observing you while he holds his breath to avoid any more unnecessary movements than the ones he’s making right now.
An arm lifts your upper body, and Jaemin quickly jumps behind you. You did stir a bit in your sleep when Jaemin undoes the noisy metal zipper of your jacket but nonetheless, he succeeded without bringing you back into full consciousness. In his head, he imagines himself doing a little celebratory dance under the shining disco ball, all the fluorescent light on him on the dance floor. Then, the same arm is placed on your upper back once more but now paired with his other arm tucked under the back of your knees. You quickly adjusted to the position, Jaemin raising your body high enough for you to relish in the remnants of his cologne on the crook of his neck.
“I love you, Nana.” You confess to him earnestly. “I love you so much…”
Jaemin stands on one side of the bed, scanning the curves of your face intently as if he has never noticed the small mole on the slope of your nose. He couldn’t fight off the want to steal another kiss from you, bending his neck down to slot his soft ones to hug your plump ones. A satisfied hum is brought out after, Jaemin mirroring your content heart with another lingering press on your forehead.
Soon enough, your body is finally between his bouncy mattress and his weighted polyester. Immediately, your hands roam over to the other side of the bed where Jaemin would usually be, groaning when all you felt was the crinkles of the cotton that is not his shirt.
“Okay, okay. I’m here.” He assures the dissatisfaction painted on your face first by flicking the light switch off and then by wrapping your smaller frame into his own.
The muscles of your whole body relax for the first time in a while at the thought of going to dreamland—maybe it’s the Jaemin effect. A hand makes its way to the curve of your head, fingertips half-buried into your strands. A slight gush of wind can be felt on your nose but you don’t mind the proximity, even continuing to scoot even closer, pleased with the hand on your lower back that pushes you in closer.
“Sleep tight.” His eyes landed on the brown bag across the room and his muted laptop that plays your favourite comfort movie. He lets the movie play, strategically moving his forearm to block the blue light emitted. When he confirms that his shadow falls upon your lids, he places the lightest kiss as a final ‘goodnight’. “I love you.”
So maybe, you don’t hate the hot weather as much as you thought.

II headcanons targeting towards metals.
Metallic objects are cold blooded. They bask in the sun most of the time and during the winter, most metallic objects hibernate. Thanks to Invitational taking place on a tropical island, Cabby, Nickel, and Silver do not need to hibernate during the cooler months as a result because of the climate.
Older metallic objects and especially objects made of copper rust much faster than other objects. Despite the sad fading of their bodies, rusting is more-so taken like battle scars, and older objects tend to show off their rust to show how tough they were.
Metallic objects also have to shine their bodies constantly, but not too much. Just enough to have a shine on their bodies. Too little, they look dull. Too much, they can blind other objects. Nickel undershines his body purposefully but as of Season 3 he's starting to shine again.
Objects made of copper and silver tend to usually have Astraphobia. This is because those metals are very conductible when it comes to electricity; in fact, silver is the most conductible metal on the periodic table. Because of this, objects made of these metals do not like going outside during storms and have to wear insulating cloth in case they absolutely have to. Copper objects especially hate storms because that's two threats at once (potential rusting and shock). So yes, it's normal to fear storms if you're metallic.
They really like heat. While some metals can't conduct electricity, most can conduct thermal energy. Most metallic objects, therefore, would usually find packs or mates with at least one object that can conduct heat. Another reason why Silver's attracted to objects on fire (/j).

3/36. @tmnt-event-blog
Sometimes, giving a little means getting something back in return.
Raph didn't remember where this habit came from. Maybe it started with the various plushies Dad gave him when he was younger; don't get him wrong, he took care of them well! But the road to learning to be gentle was paved with spilled stuffing and many many stitches. On top of that, as he and his brothers grew up, so did the need to repair any clothing they may have.
Raph remembered when Mikey first caught sewing up Captain Cuddles' arm. There was a little tear and he had to patch them up. His initial fear of being made fun of was completely drowned out when Mikey waddled away and came back with a hole in his beanie. It then spread to the other two, where his services would usually be reasonably required throughout the year.
Though this winter season, the demand for his help grew. It wasn't something he would flat-out refuse; he loved helping his brothers whenever they asked nicely, but it was beginning to get tiring.
Raph called it irresponsible, but Donnie did counter with the very convincing "At least I didn't use any of your clothes."
Leo (for once) had a pass, asking Raph to help sew up the right-sleeve of all his long-sleeved shirts. He seldom ever wore them outside of winter, but it felt right to give him help when he asked. There was also Mikey. He needed help sewing up the tears in some of his jackets; he left the lair more often to accompany the Caseys around New York, but with only Junior's supervision, it was difficult to reel back Cassandra's and his combined chaos. Then there was Donnie, who Raph was sure wouldn't need any help repairing clothing, only to prove him wrong when the softshell came to him with a laundry basket of shredded clothing that fell victim to one of his "mind fog moments".
That was all within the span of two weeks, and Raph's previous plans of knitting a nice thick blanket for himself went out the window. Winter settled in fast (surprisingly so, global warming and all that). It usually wouldn't have been a problem, but heating hadn't properly been installed in the lair, let alone their individual rooms.
Sluggish and struggling to keep his working eye open, the snapping turtle decided to call it quits... It was too cold to work, and he didn't want to assign blame. He put the knitting needles aside and flopped onto his bed.
It was a monstrosity, but it was beautiful.
Mentally preparing himself to brave the cold night, he heard a knock on the door. Even if he didn't answer, they'd still come in, and they did. He wanted to say something about taking a nap, only to find the words dying in his mouth. Warmth flooded the room.
He looked over, seeing all three of them standing there with a Genius Built™ portable heater and a monstrosity of a blanket. Some corners and patches were crocheted and others were knit; all of them were various different colours of yarn, some thicker than others. There were a myriad of attempted patterns on one end and a small cluster of finished ones somewhere on another side.
"What's all this?" Raph dared to question.
"We just wanted to thank you for always fixing our stuff," Mikey hopped over to wrap the blanket around him.
"And we figured we'd be real jerks if we didn't return the favour," Leo continued.
"Also, your room is the most insulated out of all of ours and the heater's better in here than out there," Donnie quickly added.
Raph chuckled, spreading his arms open. Mikey was the first one to take the snapping turtle's offer to embrace, Leo tugging Donnie over for the hug (the softshell would've run away sooner if he didn't want to).
Cocooned in the world's ugliest crotchet-knit-hybrid blanket with his brothers, Raph wouldn't trade this moment for the world.

I find sleeping in the tent warmer than in toilets/under shelters, which makes sense because it traps some body heat. I also wondered if I didn’t wear any clothes in my sleeping bag maybe it would be warmer. It wasn’t the case, I needed all the clothes I had. To be exact every night I wear 2 pairs of thick socks, leggings and pants, 7 top layers, a balaclava, beanie, scarf, 2 hoods up and two pairs of gloves yet it’s still not enough. Mobility is limited with the amount of layers I have and yet I can still feel the ground zap the warmth out of me! But it’s my fault and I’m not complaining, I’m merely just too stubborn to buy new gear appropriate for the environment. For example my sleeping bag isn’t exactly a winter one with a comfort rating of 2 degrees, and the temperature has been dropping below. And my sleeping mat is more three seasons too, rated 3.8/5 for warmth insulation so not the best either.
Anyway, rant over, I’m still getting a full nights rest. The frost was harsh this morning though, my bike looked like a ghost!
I left the tent pitched so it could thaw out and headed into town to get a coffee and cook my breakfast. Midday came around and I packed up and headed out of town.
The ride took me through rolling hills covered by archways of bush, with the roadside ditches steaming as the suns rays hit the frost, even til mid afternoon.
Not a big day, only 40km til I made it to the town of Zeehan. Not much going on here so I grabbed some more supplies I’d need for the next 3 days out in the whops, then carried on out of town. About 10 minutes down the road I pulled off down a side road because some ruins caught my eye. It was an abandoned mine, I had a look around, walked up a hill behind it and set up an early camp.
It was so quiet out there in the hills as I watched the sunset. I could hear small streams trickling a hundred meters away and the rustling of gum leaves in the slight breeze.
Definitely my favourite camp spot thus far, first campfire for the trip too which was nice to warm up with.

A homeless person on the streets with essential items for survival in extreme cold-weather conditions: thermal clothing, sleeping bags, insulated footwear, and nutritious food.
Winter is a daunting season for those living on the streets. For the homeless, plummeting temperatures and harsh conditions transform daily survival into a formidable challenge. Understanding the essential items that can aid their survival is crucial, not just for the individuals themselves but also for those looking to offer help. This article outlines the top five things a homeless person needs to survive in cold-weather conditions, explaining how each item contributes to their safety and well-being.
1. Thermal Clothing and Layering
The first line of defense against the cold is appropriate clothing. Thermal clothing, including insulated jackets, thermal underwear, and woolen socks, is essential. These items are designed to trap body heat and provide a layer of insulation against the cold. Layering clothing is equally important as it creates multiple barriers against the cold, allowing for adjustments based on temperature changes. For a homeless person, having access to these kinds of clothing can mean the difference between staying warm and suffering from hypothermia.
2. Sleeping Bags and Blankets
At night, temperatures can drop drastically, making it extremely dangerous for those without shelter. A high-quality sleeping bag, particularly one designed for low temperatures, can save a life. Sleeping bags provide a portable shelter that retains body heat and shields from the cold ground. Additionally, blankets, especially those made from wool or fleece, add an extra layer of warmth and can be used to cover oneself during the day or to add insulation to the sleeping bag at night.
3. Waterproof and Insulated Footwear
Footwear is often overlooked but is crucial in cold weather. Waterproof and insulated boots can protect against frostbite, a condition that homeless individuals are particularly at risk of developing. Boots should be sturdy enough to handle icy conditions and have a good grip to prevent falls. Keeping feet dry and warm not only helps in maintaining overall body temperature but also in preventing foot injuries, which can be debilitating for someone living on the streets.
4. Nutritious Food and Hydration
Maintaining energy levels and hydration is vital in cold weather. The body burns more calories trying to stay warm, making nutritious, calorie-rich food essential for homeless individuals. Non-perishable items that can be easily consumed, such as energy bars, nuts, and canned food with pull tabs, are particularly useful. Access to clean drinking water is also critical as dehydration can lead to serious health issues and can be as dangerous in cold weather as it is in hot conditions.
5. Shelter and Temporary Housing
While not a portable item, access to temporary shelters or housing is a crucial need for homeless individuals during winter. Shelters provide a warm, safe space to sleep and access to other essential services like hot meals, bathrooms, and sometimes medical care. Even temporary relief from the harsh outdoor conditions can significantly reduce the risk of hypothermia and other cold-related illnesses.
For those living on the streets, the winter months are a battle against the elements. Thermal clothing, sleeping bags, appropriate footwear, nutritious food, and access to shelter are not just comforts but necessities that can mean the difference between life and death. Understanding these needs is vital for anyone seeking to assist the homeless during these challenging months. Beyond the immediate provision of these items, there is also a need for systemic solutions to address the broader issue of homelessness, ensuring that everyone has access to safe and warm housing.
Beyond the Basics: Lesser-Known Survival Items for the Homeless in Extreme Cold Weather
While thermal clothing, sleeping bags, and shelters are widely recognized as essential for the homeless during winter, there are several lesser-known items equally crucial for survival in extreme cold weather. These items, often overlooked, can make a significant difference in the lives of those who must endure the harshness of winter on the streets. This article explores a range of such items, explaining their importance and how they contribute to the survival of homeless individuals in challenging conditions.
1. Hand and Foot Warmers Disposable hand and foot warmers are compact, inexpensive, and can be life-saving in frigid temperatures. These small packets generate heat through a chemical reaction and can be placed in gloves, boots, or pockets. They provide immediate warmth, helping to prevent frostbite and hypothermia, particularly in the extremities, which are most susceptible to cold injuries.
2. Emergency Mylar Thermal Blankets While not a substitute for conventional blankets or sleeping bags, Mylar thermal blankets are lightweight, compact, and effective at retaining body heat. Made from heat-reflective thin plastic sheeting, they are often used in emergency situations. For the homeless, these blankets can be a vital additional layer of protection against the cold, especially when other resources are not available.
3. Windproof and Waterproof Clothing In addition to insulated clothing, windproof and waterproof garments play a vital role in protection against the cold. A sturdy, waterproof jacket or windbreaker can significantly reduce the impact of cold winds and wet weather, helping to maintain body heat. For those living on the streets, these items are indispensable in creating a barrier against the elements.
4. Portable Heat Sources Portable, safe-to-use heating solutions like battery-powered heaters can offer a respite from the cold. While their use is limited by the need for power, they can provide temporary relief in particularly harsh conditions. Additionally, solar-powered chargers can be useful for keeping electronic devices powered, which may be critical for communication or emergency calls.
5. Moisture-Wicking Clothing Moisture-wicking clothing, typically made from synthetic fabrics, is designed to draw moisture away from the body. This feature is particularly important in cold weather, as dampness can significantly increase the risk of hypothermia. Clothing that keeps the skin dry can help maintain warmth and comfort in extreme conditions.
6. Multi-Tool and Basic Repair Kits A multi-tool can be a versatile and valuable item for the homeless, especially in winter. It can be used for various purposes, from making minor repairs to clothing and gear to opening cans of food. A basic repair kit, including items like needles, thread, and duct tape, can also be crucial for mending torn clothing or damaged shelter materials.
7. Lip Balm and Skin Moisturizers The harsh winter weather can cause severe skin dryness and chapping. Lip balm and skin moisturizers may seem like minor comforts, but they are essential for preventing painful cracks and sores that could lead to infections, especially when access to healthcare is limited.
8. High-Calorie Snacks While not a substitute for nutritious meals, high-calorie snacks such as peanut butter, energy bars, or trail mix can provide a quick energy boost and essential nutrients, helping to sustain body warmth and energy levels during cold spells.
9. Hats, Gloves, and Scarves Though often mentioned in the context of clothing, the specific importance of hats, gloves, and scarves warrants emphasis. A significant amount of body heat is lost through the head, hands, and neck, making these items crucial for warmth. They are particularly important for those who might not have access to high-quality thermal clothing.
10. Information on Local Resources Finally, knowledge can be as vital as physical items. Information on local resources, such as warming centers, soup kitchens, and emergency health services, is crucial. Flyers, resource guides, or even word-of-mouth information can guide the homeless to essential services and aid.
The battle against the cold for those living on the streets involves more than just the obvious items of clothing and shelter. It encompasses a range of lesser-known but equally important items, each playing a critical role in survival. Understanding and providing access to these items can significantly improve the lives of homeless individuals in extreme cold weather. As we continue to address the broader issue of homelessness, recognizing and meeting these varied needs is essential in our collective effort to offer support and compassion to those facing life on the streets during the harshest season.

Honey, please go and rest! relax! breathe!
Also, I keep thinking if you hug sungod!steve for too long you could get sunburn, but he'd be great to cuddle in the pool or something because the water would be constantly cooling in comparison to the heat he gives off.
could that be why he joins the swim team, to be around others without worrying about giving them minor burns whiel trying to figure out how to control the heating powers
🖤
The change in body temperature is slow, the sun in his chest having to get used to its new home. Steve feels cold for a few days before it latches on to a source; before it settles like a kitten in a warm spot, making him smile so bright that his mum calls it blinding.
It takes years for Steve to notice the way his mum withdraws; the way she stops fretting that he's feeling warm, stops asking how he feels, stops short of touching him. One day, he's sitting on her lap as she reads fairytales, and the other, she goes out of her way to walk around him when they're in the same room.
She's the one to sign him up for swimming in his first year of middle school, only ever putting her hands on him when he's wet; fresh out of the water, skin still cooled down.
Steve takes to taking colder showers, trying to win her touch back.
And then comes the day when the ice-cold water hits his skin and steam rises.
And then comes the day when his teammates start wondering about the water temperature if Steve stays in the pool too long.
He becomes a fast swimmer.
Steve doesn't know if he likes to swim or if he likes the normalcy it brings; likes the way he can touch other people and they won't shy away, afraid to get hurt.
Winter becomes his favourite season, solely for the layers of insulation it brings. He doesn't need to bundle up, not really, but it makes others more comfortable with touching him, no matter how subconscious it might be. Steve drinks it all up, drains them of their affection like a mosquito sucks blood.
He still swims in winter; the heated pool in the backyard having many of his teammates invite themselves over. And with the cold air contrasting the warm water, it takes them longer to question if the water is too close to boiling.
Steve thrives on normalcy, on winter and heated pools and layers of clothes between skin.

How to Choose the Perfect Sleeping Bag for Your Camping Trip
Setting out on a camping trip can be super exciting! Whether it is reconnecting with nature or trying your hand at fun activities such as trekking, camping is the perfect time to explore your adventurous side. However, it is important to ensure a good night’s sleep to have an enjoyable experience on the whole. Therefore, choosing the right camping gear and in particular, the ideal sleeping bag, assumes great significance. In this article, we explore the various factors that determine your choice of a sleeping bag for a camping trip.
Climate at Your Camping Destination
First and foremost, take the surroundings and temperature of your intended camping location into account. Will you be lounging by the beach in the summer or traveling through icy mountainous areas? Are you interested in hiking and later, camping in the winter? Choosing the right sleeping bag with the appropriate level of insulation is made easier by being aware of the predicted temperature range. The seasons are usually used to assess sleeping bags: summer bags are for warm weather, 3-season bags are for moderate temperatures, and winter bags are for really cold conditions. The Flame Retardant Sleeping Blanket filled with goosedown is usable upto temperatures as low as -10 degree Celsius. It also doubles down as an apron when not in use as a sleeping bag. For temperatures below -34 degree Celsius, the Arxtic Colding Series Mummy Goosedown Sleeping Bag is ideal . Fitted with a solid goosedown track, this sleeping bag offers high thermal performance. If you are choosing a terrain that is surrounded by water bodies or is prone to rainfall, choose the CW400 Mummy Goosedown Sleeping Bag.
Shape and Size of the Sleeping Bag
Think over and choose wisely regarding the shape and size of the sleeping bag. If you choose a rectangular sleeping bag, you will acquire bigger interior volume and greater mobility, but might lose warmth. On the other hand, mummy-shaped sleeping bags maximise heat retention by adapting to your body. But, some campers can find them too constricting. Before making a final decision, think about your sleeping habits and comfort preferences. There are a wide array of options to suit your mobility and sleeping preferences.
Significance of Trying Out Sleeping Bags before Buying
Purchasing a sleeping bag should always be done after properly testing one out. Go to businesses that sell outdoor clothing, allowing you the opportunity to try on various kinds and determine how comfortable you feel in it. Try lying down in different sleeping positions to understand whether the sleeping bag is roomy and flexible enough. Keep in mind that a sleeping bag that is warm and comfortable at the store is probably going to feel the same in the woods.
In conclusion, carefully evaluate a number of aspects, including temperature, size, budget and material is necessary when choosing the ideal sleeping bag for your camping trip. An appropriately chosen sleeping bag improves your entire outdoor experience, in addition to guaranteeing a peaceful night under the stars. Thus, arm yourself sensibly and get ready for incredible evenings spent in the embrace of nature.

Humidity—a silent assassin
Just a little tangent if you want to travel to a tropical climate.
I’ve heard people say like, “Oh, I’m used to the heat. Oh, I live in the desert.” But are you used to the humidity?
It’s very misleading if you only see the temperature on weather report. Humidity turns hot into boiling and cold in to biting freeze.
Let’s take heat. When you’re hot, you sweat to cool down. But the high humidity in the air prevents your sweat from evaporating as effectively. Thus, you’ll be literally boiled in your own fluid. The heat isn’t just hot, it’s stifling and it won’t be recorded in any weather report.
And the cold has what scientifically calls the wicking effect. It’s when the high humidity in the air causes clothing’s insulation to become less effective. Because the moisture get caught in the clothing fibers.
I was on a trip to Japan and Las Vegas years ago in the winter. And while Las Vegas was technically colder, the freezing weather around Mount Fuji Five Lakes was much more unbearable.
And god forbid you visit Hanoi during Nồm season which is right about now with about 90% humidity. You know it’s humid when the walls start to sweat. Yes, sweat from the water droplets in the air. It’s so humid that Vietnamese have invented a whole new word and season to denote the suffering.

Here are some tips and tricks for layering your clothes during the winter season:
1. Start with a base layer: Begin with a lightweight, moisture-wicking base layer to keep you warm and dry. Opt for materials like merino wool or synthetic fabrics.
2. Add a thermal layer: Next, add a thermal layer for insulation. This can be a long-sleeved shirt, sweater, or fleece. Look for materials that provide warmth without adding bulk.
3. Choose a middle layer: For extra warmth, add a middle layer such as a cardigan, vest, or lightweight jacket. This layer helps trap heat and can easily be removed if you get too warm.
4. Layer with outerwear: For the final layer, choose a coat or jacket that is windproof and waterproof to protect you from the elements. Consider a down-filled or insulated jacket for maximum warmth.
5. Don't forget accessories: Accessories play a crucial role in keeping you warm. Don't forget to layer with items like scarves, gloves, hats, and earmuffs to protect your extremities from the cold.
6. Mix textures and lengths: Experiment with layering different textures and lengths to add visual interest to your outfit. Pair chunky knits with sleeker materials or layer a longer shirt under a shorter sweater.
7. Use thinner layers for flexibility: Instead of wearing one bulky layer, opt for multiple thinner layers. This allows you to adjust your clothing throughout the day and prevents overheating.
8. Consider leggings or thermal tights: To keep your legs warm, layer leggings or thermal tights under your pants or skirts. They add an extra layer of insulation without adding bulk.
9. Opt for versatile pieces: Choose versatile clothing items that can be easily layered and mixed and matched. This gives you more options and extends your winter wardrobe.
10. Pay attention to fit: Ensure that each layer fits comfortably without being too tight or restrictive. This allows for better movement and prevents discomfort.
Remember, layering is all about finding the right balance between warmth, comfort, and style. Play around with different combinations until you achieve a look that suits your personal style and keeps you cozy during the winter season.

'tis the season to download this image if you need it!
Image transcription of winter weather tips below the cut:
The leading cause of death during winter storms is transportation accidents. Preparing your vehicle for the winter season and knowing how to react if stranded or lost on the road are the keys to safe winter driving. Be ready before you drive!
Before you drive, have a mechanic check the following items on your car:
Battery
Antifreeze
Wipers/windshield washer fluid
Ignition system
Thermostat
Lights/flashing hazard lights
Exhaust System
Heater/Defroster
Brakes
Oil level (if necessary, replace existing oil with a winter grade oil or the SAE 10w/30 weight variety)
Take the proper precautions to outfit you and your car for winter driving:
Install good winter tires. Make sure they have adequate tread.
Maintain at least half a tank of gas at all times.
Plan long trips carefully. Listen to the radio or call 511 for the latest road conditions. Always travel during daylight and if possible, do not travel alone.
If you must go out during a winter storm, use public transportation.
Dress warmly. Wear loose-fitting, layered, lightweight clothing.
Keep the following items in your car at all times during the winter months:
Flashlights with extra batteries
First aid kit with a pocketknife
Necessary medications
Blankets and/or sleeping bags
Extra newspapers for insulation
Plastic bags (for sanitation)
Matches
Extra set of mittens, socks and a wool cap
Rain gear and extra clothes
Small sack of sand or kitty litter to generate traction under car wheels
Small shovel and other tools (pliers, wrench, screwdriver)
Jumper cables
Brightly-colored cloth (red) to use as a flag
Canned fruit/nuts and non-electric can opener
Bottled water
If You Get Trapped in Your Car During a Blizzard…
Stay in the car. Do not leave to search for assistance unless help is visible within 100 yards. You may become disoriented and lost in blowing and drifting snow.
Hang a brightly-colored cloth on the radio antenna and raise the hood to draw attention.
Do minor exercises to keep up circulation. Clap hands and move arms and legs. Try not to stay in one position for too long. If more than one person is in the car, take turns sleeping.
Avoid overexertion. Cold weather puts an added strain on the heart. Unaccustomed exercise like snow shoveling or pushing a car can bring on a heart attack or make other medical conditions worse.
Run the engine occasionally to keep warm. Turn the engine on for about 10 minutes each hour. Run the heater and turn on the dome light while the car is running. Beware of carbon monoxide poisoning. Keep the exhaust pipe clear of snow, and open a downwind window slightly for ventilation.
For warmth, huddle together.
Frostbite and Hypothermia
Frostbite is a severe reaction to cold exposure that can be permanently damaging. Symptoms include: loss of feeling and a white or pale appearance in fingers, toes, or nose and earlobes.
Hypothermia can be brought on when the body temperature drops to less than 90°F. Symptoms include uncontrollable shivering, slow speech, memory lapses, stumbling, drowsiness, and exhaustion.
If frostbite or hypothermia is suspected, begin warming the person slowly and seek immediate medical assistance. Warm the person’s trunk first. Use your own body heat to help. Arms and legs should be warmed last because stimulation of the limbs can drive cold blood toward the heart and lead to heart failure. Put the person in dry clothing and wrap their entire body in a blanket.
Never give a frostbite or hypothermia victim something with caffeine or alcohol in it. Caffeine, a stimulant, can cause the heart to beat faster and alcohol, a depressant, can slow the heart. Both can hasten the ill effects of cold body temperatures.

How to plan Himachal trip in Winter?
Planning a trip to Himachal Pradesh during the winter months can be an exciting adventure, but it requires careful planning to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you plan your winter trip to Himachal:
Choose Your Destination:Himachal Pradesh offers a range of winter destinations such as Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Kullu, and more. Decide where you want to go based on your interests and the activities you want to pursue.
Set Your Travel Dates:Winter in Himachal Pradesh typically starts from late November and lasts until February. Decide when you want to visit, keeping in mind that December and January are the coldest months.
Research Weather and Conditions:Check the weather forecast for your chosen destination. Winter conditions can vary significantly, so be prepared for cold temperatures, snow, and potential road closures.
Book Accommodation in Advance:Popular winter destinations can get crowded, so book your accommodation well in advance to secure your stay. Look for places that offer heating facilities.

Stay Safe:Winter travel can be challenging, so prioritize safety. Drive carefully on icy roads, stay hydrated, and dress appropriately to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
Enjoy Local Cuisine:Don't miss the opportunity to try Himachali cuisine, which includes warming dishes like Chana Madra, Dham, and various soups.
Book Activities in Advance:If you plan to participate in activities like skiing or snowboarding, consider booking lessons or equipment rental in advance, especially during peak tourist season.
Backup Power and Connectivity:Winter storms can disrupt power and connectivity. Carry a power bank and a local SIM card for emergency communication.
Travel Insurance:Consider purchasing travel insurance that covers winter sports and adverse weather conditions.
Respect the Environment:Be responsible and eco-friendly. Dispose of waste properly and respect local customs and traditions.
Emergency Contact Information:Carry a list of emergency contacts, including local authorities and your embassy or consulate.
Remember that winter conditions can be unpredictable, so be flexible with your plans and be prepared for changes. With careful planning and the right gear, a winter trip to Himachal Pradesh can be a magical and memorable experience.
Best Travel Option for Himachal Trip in Winter?
Choosing the best travel option for a winter trip to Himachal Pradesh depends on your preferences, budget, and the specific destination you plan to visit. Here are some common travel options to consider:
Self-Drive:If you're comfortable driving in winter conditions and have access to a suitable vehicle with snow chains and all-wheel drive, self-driving can be a convenient and flexible option. However, be prepared for challenging road conditions, especially in hilly and mountainous areas.
Private Taxi or Cab:Hiring a private taxi or cab with an experienced local driver who knows the terrain can be a safe and stress-free way to travel in Himachal during winter. This option allows you to enjoy the scenery while someone else takes care of the driving.
Public Transport:Himachal Pradesh has a network of buses that connect various towns and cities. While this is a budget-friendly option, it may not be the most comfortable or reliable choice in winter, as road conditions can be unpredictable.
Volvo Buses:Some routes in Himachal, such as the Delhi to Manali route, offer Volvo luxury buses equipped with heating systems. These buses are a more comfortable and relatively safer option for winter travel.
Train:You can take a train to cities like Chandigarh or Pathankot and then continue your journey to Himachal Pradesh by road. Trains are a comfortable way to cover longer distances, but you'll need to arrange for local transport once you reach your destination.
Domestic Flights:If you're traveling from a distant city, you can book a domestic flight to cities like Chandigarh, Kullu-Manali, or Dharamshala. From there, you can hire a taxi or use local transport to reach your final destination in Himachal.
Trekking and Adventure Tours:Some adventure travel companies offer guided tours and trekking packages in Himachal Pradesh during the winter. These packages often include transportation, accommodation, and activities.
Local Transport:In Himachal Pradesh, you'll find local transport options like shared taxis, auto-rickshaws, and local buses. These can be useful for short distances within towns and cities.
When choosing your travel option, consider the distance you need to cover, your budget, your comfort level with winter driving, and the specific conditions at your destination. Always check the latest weather and road condition updates before you travel, especially during the winter months when conditions can change rapidly. Additionally, booking transportation and accommodations in advance is recommended, especially if you're traveling during peak tourist season.

Honest question, how does the nature cooling work? Is it just great air flow? Are they dug into the ground to better insolate? Does it get cold at night? (comment courtesy of @goblin-named-sam)
@goblin-named-sam mud is a bad conductor of heat, it doesn't allow the heat to enter during the day. in summers people may wet the walls of their houses a bit so that when the water evaporates, it leaves the walls cooler (the same principle on which sweating works!) and the inside is as ambient as if there was air conditioner.
since it's a bad conductor of heat, it doesn't let too much of it escape at night or in winters either, so it keeps you comfortable both ways (comment courtesy of @an-absolute-nightmare)
.
its so stupid that we prize european everything when its so unsuitable to other climates. in north/west europe it makes sense to wear more clothes n have more complex house desigsn that r warmer, but in a hot country it doesnt work. these traditional housing styles, and traditional clothing thats labelled “immodest” and “uncivilised”, are cheaper, use less resources, better for the environment and more comofrtable for ppl
ppl who still have access to traditional better methord r very lucky. in australia we dress and build and act like its cold england, so ppl are forced to wear way too hot clothes, live in way too hot houses, and go out in the sun at midday
if ppl started building mud and thatch houses here and we all walked around in our underwear (or west asian-styled covering clothes for us lightskinned ppl) then i would be very glad and quick to adopt it over continuing to have an anglo saxon culture (comments courtesy of @yossarianirl)
.
Just because you grew up in one lifestyle doesn't mean it's good (comment courtesy of @legendoro)
.
It's not just a culture thing either - different parts of the world develop different types of building styles in reaction to the environments they're trying to adjust to. It would be silly to expect people who live in a hot and dry climate to build homes designed to withstand monsoon season or to expect people who live in an area where wood is scarce to build timber frame houses. The climates and resources that surround you affect what sorts of homes are practical and comfortable and affordable. Of course the resultant building practices are going to change as a result! (comment courtesy of @reesa-chan)
.
#you know I never thought about it but duh #of course people who have been living there for tens of thousands of years figured out the best design for houses in their environment #particularly for natural cooling etc #people use traditional methods for a reason #because it's readily available locally and because it's specifically suited to their local environment #the standard American style house isn't ideal for even most of the USA #why the hell should anybody else have it pushed on them? (tags courtesy of @judiops)
.
#i think (white) people think of the western way of doing things as like. the default. #so therefore everyone else is consciously choosing not to do things the 'normal way' #but like. what part of importing lumber and insulation and construction materials is normal. #they have a system that works! #why would they switch to another system (tags courtesy of @iamanoccasionaldoodler)
.
#its so frustrating that people will call them 'mud huts' and not realise that these are architecture designed for their climate #like coming over to the uk and asking why are our houses dont have air con or have triple glazing #why are all these houses in my area built on hills and slopes #flooding and frost is our problem so we have the solutions??? (tags courtesy of @averyroundbird)
.
This woman is beautiful and her voice is so calming and her accent is so lovely and also she is so fucking right. (comment courtesy of @just-a-geekygoth)
.
#imagine the extent to which we could mitigate global climate crisis if everyone in hot environments used buildings that #were naturally cooling instead of relying on constant electricity to run air conditioning and fans #imagine how many people's lives would be saved if buildings in these places remained cool naturally even in power outages #anti-Blackness really has Westerners ready to sacrifice everyone's lives rather than admit that Uganda has superior building structures (tags courtesy of @closet-keys)
#prev tags #this reminds me of the cooling crisis in Arizona from that one article #where everyone just dismissed the author and supporters as ecofascists #but this is exactly the type of shit that they were talking about! #western housing methods are not sustainable in the desert without AC! #when European settlers came to the Americas they also tried to use western farming methods. and it failed. (tags courtesy of @eruthiawenluin)
.
#I'm sorry are people forgetting that bricks are just baked dirt #Roof slate is just cut stone #Wooden roofs are as much made of plants as grass #We just have different materials in abundance in different places #Different building traditions #No one would be shocked to discover that people eat rice instead of wheat in some places #why are people surprised that the building materials might be different too (tags courtesy of @ursusmaritimuslocaha)
.
#I have many thoughts now thank you #like why is a house so complicated? it's where you sleep #we turned our homes into castles and split villages into millions of mini kingdoms #now we all see our neighbors as competing nations instead of family and friends #we spend all our time at home away from eachother when we could be coming together at the library or bar or game shop #I used to know the name of every kid on my block now I don't even know what my nextdoor neighbors look like (tags courtesy of @spacebarista-blog-blog)

Grass thatched houses 😳
“Do you guys still sleep in grass thatched houses?”
“Do you still sleep in houses made of MUD?”
Those of you that keep asking that question, and possibly because of genuine curiosity or lack of proper information …
But anyways, yes we do. Yes, we do sleep in them. We still do sleep in them.
Why wouldn’t we sleep in them? Why wouldn’t you sleep in a house that has its own natural cooling system? Even when it’s the hottest of the hottest months in Uganda.
You don’t need a fridge to keep your water cold or your drinks cold. The grass thatched house does that free of charge. You don’t have to pay for the energy.
Why wouldn’t I sleep in a house that takes nature to construct? That I’m not worried of trying to buy expensive materials in order to have a house to sleep in. Why wouldn’t I sleep in such a house?
Mud scents better than paint. I don’t know if you knew about that. Why wouldn’t I sleep in such a house?
So many times we love to dehumanize other people’s way of life or cultures and simply because we lack information and also because …
You have grown up in one kind of lifestyle. And you think that one kind of lifestyle should be the standard of everyone.
So many cultures in so many places around the world have been dehumanized. The people that think everything theirs has to be the standard of everyone.
Most of us are striving so much to adopt cultures, to adopt every way of life that is not ours, because we have the verge of trying to prove ourselves that we are doing better. “Actually, we are also doing better.” “Actually, we also have this.” “We also have this.”
We also have grass thatched houses.
How will we promote our cultures when we ourselves are not proud of our cultures?
If it doesn’t kill, why shouldn’t we celebrate it?
When did grassthatched houses become a piece of embarrassment?
Anyways, we do sleep in them. I had such a great night sleep.
This is a kind of house that even heals insomnia. You can’t lack sleep. Never.

How Sheepskin Seat Covers Improve Your Driving Experience
When it comes to enhancing your driving experience, comfort is paramount. Long hours behind the wheel can lead to fatigue, discomfort, and even aches, especially if your car seats lack adequate cushioning and support. One of the best ways to significantly improve your driving comfort is by adding sheepskin covers to your vehicle. At My Sheepskin Store, we specialize in providing high-quality sheepskin covers that bring a host of benefits, transforming how you feel during every drive.
In this article, we’ll delve into how these covers can enhance your driving experience by improving comfort, temperature regulation, support, and overall well-being. Whether you're commuting to work, embarking on a road trip, or just taking a quick drive, seat covers can make every moment behind the wheel more enjoyable.
1. Enhanced Comfort and Softness
One of the most noticeable improvements when adding sheepskin seat covers to your car is the increase in comfort. Sheepskin is naturally soft and plush, providing a luxurious feel that instantly elevates the driving experience.
Gentle Cushioning for Long Drives
Unlike standard fabric or synthetic seat covers, sheepskin provides a cushioning effect that offers a soft, comfortable surface for your body. This cushioning is especially beneficial for long drives, where extended sitting can lead to discomfort or fatigue. The wool fibers gently mold to the shape of your body, providing tailored support that makes the seat feel more like a comfortable cushion rather than a hard surface. This can be a game-changer for people who spend hours on the road each day, such as commuters, long-haul truck drivers, or travelers.
Pressure Relief
The natural elasticity of sheepskin helps distribute your body weight more evenly across the seat, reducing pressure on certain areas such as your back, legs, and hips. This can help alleviate soreness and discomfort, allowing you to drive longer without feeling the strain that comes with other less supportive materials. Sheepskin’s ability to relieve pressure points is especially beneficial for people who suffer from back pain or other conditions that can be exacerbated by prolonged sitting.
2. Temperature Regulation for Year-Round Comfort
Sheepskin is a natural insulator, meaning it can keep you comfortable in both hot and cold weather. This feature makes it ideal for people who live in areas with extreme temperatures or for those who drive year-round, no matter the season.
Stay Cool in the Summer
During hot weather, the temperature inside your car can become uncomfortable, especially if you have leather or synthetic seats that heat up quickly. Sheepskin has the unique ability to regulate temperature by wicking away moisture from your body. It helps to keep you cool by absorbing sweat and allowing air to flow through the fibers, which prevents you from feeling overheated or sticky. If you’ve ever experienced the discomfort of a hot car seat on a sweltering summer day, sheepskin covers can provide a welcome relief.
Warmth in the Winter
In the winter months, your car can feel like an icebox when you first sit down, especially if you’ve parked outside overnight. Sheepskin covers provide a natural source of warmth by trapping heat close to your body, which helps keep you cozy during cold drives. The wool fibers act like insulation, preventing heat from escaping and providing a gentle, soothing warmth without the need for extra layers or heavy clothing. This makes seat covers an ideal option for anyone who has to endure chilly mornings or winter road trips.
3. Health Benefits for a Better Driving Experience
Beyond just improving comfort, covers can have several health benefits that contribute to a more enjoyable and healthier driving experience. From reducing pressure on your body to improving circulation, sheepskin is an excellent choice for those who value their health during their daily commutes.
Pressure Relief and Pain Reduction
For people who suffer from conditions like lower back pain, sciatica, or poor circulation, driving can often be a painful experience. The soft, cushiony nature of sheepskin helps to reduce the pressure placed on your body during long drives. By relieving pressure points, sheepskin helps reduce the risk of developing pain or stiffness, especially in the lower back, hips, and thighs. This is especially beneficial for those who spend hours in their vehicles each day.
Hypoallergenic and Skin-Friendly
Sheepskin is a naturally hypoallergenic material, making it a great choice for individuals with sensitive skin or allergies. The wool fibers naturally resist dust mites, bacteria, and other allergens, helping to keep your car’s seating environment clean and free of irritants. Additionally, sheepskin helps regulate moisture, which can prevent sweat and irritation from accumulating on your skin. This creates a healthier, more comfortable driving experience, particularly for those with skin sensitivities.
Improved Circulation
The softness of sheepskin can also enhance blood circulation while driving. The wool’s gentle massaging effect can stimulate blood flow, preventing numbness or stiffness that can result from sitting for extended periods. This improvement in circulation can help you feel more energized and less fatigued, especially on long trips or commutes.
4. Durable and Long-Lasting Comfort
Another key benefit of sheepskin seat covers is their durability. While many car seat covers may wear down or lose their shape over time, sheepskin maintains its softness, shape, and functionality for years. This means that you can continue to enjoy the same level of comfort and support long after you’ve installed the seat covers.
Resistant to Wear and Tear
Sheepskin is naturally resilient and resistant to wear and tear. Unlike synthetic materials, which can become brittle or fray with time, sheepskin retains its plush appearance and feels comfortable for a much longer period. The wool fibers have natural elasticity, which allows them to return to their original shape even after extensive use. Whether you're using the car for daily commutes or long road trips, covers hold up to the demands of regular use.
Easy Maintenance for Longevity
Maintaining covers is relatively simple, which further contributes to their long-lasting comfort. Unlike leather seats that require frequent conditioning or synthetic fabrics that may fade or stain easily, sheepskin is low-maintenance. It’s naturally resistant to dirt, stains, and odors, and regular brushing or occasional cleaning is usually enough to keep it looking and feeling fresh. This means your covers can continue to provide comfort and durability for many years, making them a wise investment for your driving experience.
5. Aesthetic Appeal and Added Luxury
Sheepskin covers not only improve comfort but also add a touch of luxury and sophistication to your car's interior. The soft, plush wool creates a high-end look that can transform the overall appearance of your vehicle. Sheepskin’s natural texture and color complement a variety of car interiors, whether you drive a luxury car or a more modest vehicle.
