Hello Escape the Night fandom (what there is left) and Input6 fandom (if you, even exist? I think so?).

I bring you gay maid women.

No I can't explain myself as to why this happened, they're from completely different medias and timezones. It just has happened. Brain said "put the two maids together" and so I did and I love it very much.

I just want to say, there's a horror game called Input6—ignore the horror part—with a maid character in it and I think Ace would look very good in the Maid's outfit.

Don't get me wrong, I like lore. I like games that are heavily lore-based (the players learns about the world and stuff through a more "passive" way such as getting tapes or newspapers. the lore is also not crucial to enjoy or understand the game) compared to more traditional story-telling games (the players learns about the world through an active narrative. this can be exposition from characters or important items that are included with check points or drops from boss fights. The story is crucial to the game)

Having a more lore-based game can put pressure off from writing a plot driven game as the game is still enjoyable and playable. Some examples for me are Five Nights are Freddy's, Iron Lung, Squirrel Stapler, Input6.

Poppy Playtime is a weird case because it originally started very lore heavy then switched to more active story-telling. All of a sudden, Poppy and Ollie are explaining every detail, tapes (the passive, lore finding) are less and less important. It unfortunately leads to buckets of information being "lost" because the tapes give you small hints and clues to the overall story while the exposition feels clunky and slows the pace of the game.

I do like Poppy Playtime and it is still cool.

So, @tenderheliotrope tagged me to answer the following:

Last song: Been on a real ambient kick lately for productivity. SpaceWave on YouTube has been great for this, but the last one I listened to was actually the last one posted - "Dock 3". Relaxing vibes, rainfall, and ambiance which helps me focus. Very "Hearts of Space," if you are familiar with that show.

Last show/Currently Watching: I... don't really watch much TV. Not enough time in the day anymore. I watch pretty mindless stuff on YouTube while doing chores or if I'm sick, however. Last thing according to my YouTube history is apparently "INPUT6 - The Story Explained" by SuperHorrorBro. Given that's a game I haven't even played, however, the last thing I watched that I'm not actively a little embarrassed by is "The One Tiny Law That Keeps Amtrak Terrible" by Wendover Productions. That's at least vaguely more interesting/educational.

Currently reading: A lot of Twine & CSS Tutorials. Trying to prevent the skills I got from my degree from completely atrophying, so I've been trying to make something on Twine to relearn JavaScript/CSS stuff. So far, I've mostly learned how much I've forgotten - but W3Schools is an amazing resource. I should probably be using The Twine Grimoire more, given that both it and its sequel are pay-what-you-choose now and I've already bought the first one as part of an itch.io charity bundle, but admittedly I keep just going to Google instead for specific issues. Consider that a "probably should read," I suppose.

Current Obsession: Relearning old skill-sets. I've helped design two games, I've helped publish two books, I have a degree focusing on web front-end, but I feel like I haven't touched any of this for so long that I'm starting to lose touch with it all. Hence the Twine thing. These are things I value being able to do, and I consider them part of how I self-identify, and I want to keep being able to do them.
