While teenagehood is usually a difficult time for most people, I have come to realise that it’s a valuable period for growth and discovery. It is a time when many teenagers discover their interests, personality and self-confidence. This can be likened to an underwater search. It takes strength and resilience to reach the seabed where the treasure is found. While the journey to self-discovery may be tough, it also reaps precious rewards with perseverance and effort. Through this piece, I want to express my personal experience of self-discovery during my youth.

Happy Caturday😽😽😽😽😽😽😽😽😽 'NINE LIVES' I believe this time it's done! I took a poll and asked people if they preferred the black and white version of 'Nine Lives' or the color. So I decided to add more color to the original; something I tend to shy away from. I find each new painting I work on is a learning lesson and although the vision of what I perceived of the landscape to do not always materializes most often I'm happy with the end results. “The Great Expectations” by  Celestine Chee Poh Teng

The story goes that a child establishes a dream contract with “Doljabi” - the traditional meaning of life. With starry eyes and cheekiness like the Dora the Explorer reruns she watches, she envisions herself as a semblance of that: explorer caricature. Earnestly, she picks the map amidst the flotsam, and ventues onward with the journey of life in search of that person. Soon, she arrives - at its final station. Her parents, once beaming proudd during the incipient escapade, and now eroded and decaying memories. What is the treasure but a life(time) lost? She awakes at last.
