through this person's incredible bravery, Indians who stand with Palestine, Indians who have to spend their days under a fascist regime, have a representation that does them justice.
our voices of dissent have been crushed through harrowing persecution.
in 1981, India issued a postage stamp with the Indian and Palestinian flags flying side by side, and the words "Solidarity with the Palestinian people." India was the first non-arab country to recognize the state of Palestine.

India add top-order batter to squad one day before Perth Test
India have made a late addition to their squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, drafting in a top-order batter just a day before the Perth Test.
Even before the series began, India were braced for the unavailability of captain and opening batter Rohit Sharma, who has now become a father for the second time. He has now been confirmed to miss the first Test in Perth, with fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah taking over captaincy duties.
However, the visitors were dealt a second blow when Shubman Gill was injured during a practice match, hurting his thumb attempting to take a slip catch. Despite initial reports saying he had fractured his thumb, the injury may not be as serious as that. It could still keep him out of the first Test though, with coach Morne Morkel saying India would "take a call on the morning of the Test (Friday)".
Devdutt Padikkal added to India Test squad one day ahead of Perth Test
Padikkal was part of the India 'A' squad which played two first-class matches against Australia 'A' earlier this month, as a precursor to the series along with fellow Indian squad members Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhimanyu Easwaran. Dhruv Jurel and KL Rahul were also included for the second match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the first one to walk back to the pavilion after an unfortunate edge. Ishan Kishan soon followed him putting his team under pressure. Suryakumar Yadav, the skipper took things into his own hands and played aggressively earning the momentum back in their favor. He couldn't continue his onslaught as he was dismissed by Aaron Hardie but he had got his team back on the front foot. It was Ruturaj Gaikwad's turn next to play the aggressor role and he completed his half-century with equal support from Tilak Varma. They started throwing their hands at every chance they could find and were rewarded with splendid boundaries. Gaikwad was the pick of the batters and planned out his innings brilliantly as he completed his maiden T20I century in style. That was fast and furious! What a brilliant batting display especially from the opening batter from Maharashtra, Ruturaj Gaikwad! After being under pressure for most of the innings, it was a game for the Indians to steal back in the latter half. A fine century and some aggressive batting from his teammates made sure that India reached a mammoth total of 222.19.6 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Dropped and it goes to the fence. In the slot at the off stump. Gaikwad gets it in the slot and pummels it in the gap between deep mid-wicket and deep square leg. Full and down the leg stump line. The batter goes for a big hoick and misses it. Wade is not happy.19.3 overs (1 Run) Full at the stumps. Turns it towards the mid wicket region and sets off for a single.19.2 overs (1 Run) Length delivery near the off. Gaikwad miscues the heave in front of deep mid wicket fielder for a single. Missed out on the free hit.19.2 overs (5 Runs) No ball and Four! Length delivery outside the off stump. Ruturaj Gaikwad times the smash down the ground for a four. Oh eh! The siren buzzes up and it will be a no-ball due to overstepping. Free-hit to follow.19.1 overs (6 Runs) SIX! MARVELLOUS!! Ruturaj Gaikwad brings up his maiden T20 ton in Guwahati. What a sensational and mature knock it has been! Good length at the stumps and the batter heaves it over the right of the long-on region for a biggie. A century off only 52 balls, an evening to cherish for the young man!18.6 overs (2 Runs) JUST SHORT! Full and wide outside the off, angled across the southpaw. Varma mistimes the slice aerially towards the sweeper fielder who steamed in but failed to reach it. The ball landed in front of him and then spilled off. Couple of runs for India.18.5 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Short of a length over the stumps. Varma winds up and pulls it towards the deep backward square leg region for a four. He finally gets one off the screws. After a boundary check the TV umpire decides that the ball dropped inside the ropes.18.4 overs (2 Runs) Not the fine connection as Gaikwad was making a few minutes back. Good length delivery outside the off. Varma shuffles across the line and fails to neat the timing on the ramp. Gets a couple.18.3 overs (0 Run) Short of a length, slower one outside the off. Thanks to the deep backward square leg fielder who ran a long way to block the ball. Full and outside the off from the bowler. Gaikwad went for a carbon copy of the previous execution. Just a couple.17.5 overs (6 Runs) SIX! This is a GAIKWAD SPECIAL! Full and much outside the off stump line. The Maharashtra batter triggers across the line, bends low, and times the broom over the long leg region for a maximum. Not much power but sheer timing.17.4 overs (0 Run) Full and outside the off. The batter shuffles across the line for the whip of the blade and misses it.17.3 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! And this time straight over the umpire's head!! Full, at the stumps. India vs Australia, 2nd T20I: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad And Ishan Kishan Achieve Rare Feat For India
Tumblr media
Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India continued it's fiery form and registered a thumping 44-run victory over Australia in the second T20I on Sunday. Asked to bat first, India posted a whopping total of 235/4 in 20 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ishan Kishan scoring stunning half-centuries. Later, the hosts restricted Australia to 191/9 with Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi taking three wickets each. Apart from this magnificent win, Team India has also registered a rare feat in the shortest format.
It was for the first time that India's top three batters scored 50 plus runs in a T20I match. It was only the fifth time in the history of the shortest format that such an achievement was registered.
Talking about the match, opener Jaiswal led the charge of India's young brigade with a sparkling 53 off 25 balls, guiding India to a massive 235 for four in the company of Ishan (52 off 32 balls) and Gaikwad (58 off 43 balls).
Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi (3/32) then muffled the Australian top-order with two quick blows, and the visitors were eventually limited to 191 for nine despite aggressive knocks by Tim David (37 off 22 balls) and Marcus Stoinis (45 off 25 balls).
Pacer Prasidh Krishna grabbed three wickets to accentuate Australia's fall as they lost five wickets for 16 runs.
Both the teams will now meet again on Tuesday for the third T20I match of the five-match series in Guwahati.

It's amazing to see the passion and support of Indian cricket fans. They create an incredible atmosphere at the stadium and make it a truly memorable experience for the players. It's great that Pat Cummins and the Australian team appreciated the support and didn't find it too disruptive.
I'm sure the Indian fans will be even louder and more passionate when India plays Australia in the World Cup final. It should be an unforgettable match!
"Thanks for the kind words, Pat! The Indian fans are definitely one of the most passionate in the world. We're glad you enjoyed the experience!"
"It was an amazing sight to see so many Indian fans in the stadium. They create an incredible atmosphere and make it a truly special experience for the players."
