India Bow Out Beating Underdog Namibia
T20 World Cup - Super 12 - Group 2 - India vs Namibia - Dubai
India bowed out of the T20 World Cup sad that they could not qualify for the semi finals but happy that they did not lose to underdog Namibia in Dubai on Monday night after some humiliating early days in the tournament when they lost to arch rivals Pakistan and New Zealand that signalled their exit.
Their sign-off match must have been one of their easiest of the contests to deal with after restricting Namibia to 132 for 8 and then reaching the target for the loss of just one wicket with 4.4 overs to spare.
Opener Rohit Sharma thrived on his luck on three occasions, first through a dropped catch at short fine-leg in the first over and then playing two balls to fall short of the fielders before reaching a half century in an opening partnership of 86 runs with KL Rahul who remained unbeaten on 54.
In making 56, Sharma struck seven fours and two sixes in 37 balls before playing the ball up in the air for wicket-keeper Zane Green to get under and take the catch.
Namibia put into bat first, started off as if they meant business with openers Stephen Baard and Michael van Lingen scoring at a brisk pace but with their stand having realised 33 in 4.4 overs, the floodgates were opened as Lingen failed to play a ball from paceman Jasprit Bumrah over mid-off where Mohammad Shami took the catch.
Lingen made 14 after which Ravindra Jadeja trapped Baard leg-before for 21.
Only some desperate hitting by David Wiese (26) and the ninth wicket pair of Jan Frylinck (15 not out) and Ruben Trumpelmann (13 not out) took Namibia to a total of 132 for 8, as Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each.
Scores: Namibia 132 for 8 in 20 overs (Stephan Baard 21, David Wiese 26, R Ashwin 3 for 20, R Jadeja 3 for 16, J Bumrah 2 for 19) India 136 for 1 in 15.2 overs (Rohit Sharma 56, KL Rahul 54 not out, Suriyakumar Yadav 25 not out)

Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Sjoerd Marijne-coached Indian women's hockey team reached the Olympic semis for the first time.© Twitter/SjoerdMarijneThe Indian women's hockey team's chief coach Sjoerd Marijne on Friday revealed that the bronze medal match against Great Britain in the ongoing Olympics was his last assignment with the side. The 47-year-old coached the Indian women's hockey team to its best ever performance in the Olympic Games, guiding them to a creditable fourth place finish here. The Indian women came tantalisingly close to winning their maiden Olympic medal before losing to Great Britain 3-4 in a close bronze play-off match.Hours after this feat, Marijne announced that it was his last assignment with the Indian team. "I don't have any plans because this was my last match with Indian women. It's up to Janneka (Schopman) now," the Dutchman told the Indian media in a virtual press conference. It has been learnt that both Marijne and team's analytical coach Janneka Schopman were offered an extension by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) but the former refused the offer due to personal reasons.Sources in the know of developments told PTI that Schopman is expected to take over Marine's position on a full-time basis now. Marijne, a former Dutch player, took over the reins of the Indian women's team first in 2017 but was appointed the coach of the men's side later that year.PromotedHowever, in 2018, he was re-designated the women's coach in a rejigging of roles. Marijne played for Netherlands and guided the Dutch Under-21 women's side to a World Cup title. He also coached the Dutch senior women's side to a gold at the Hockey World League Semi Finals in 2015.The affable Dutchman has been unable to visit his family for the last 16 months due to the COVID-19 related travel restrictions and this could well be a major reason behind his decision of quitting the India job.Topics mentioned in this article Read the full article

Chapter 18
Your head was like it was going to explode. The morning sun slightly shined from the window, shining straight to your face. You opened your eye and looked the morning sun with narrow eyes before you groaned and turned to lay on your other side and pulled the blanket over your head.
The bed was cold, so you knew without looking that Sam wasn’t in bed.
You tried to catch the sleep again, but soon you heard how the bedroom door got open, heavy steps walking inside and soon how Sam put something down on his side of the bed.
The smell of fresh coffee floated to your nose through the blanket, so you lifted it little from your face and saw a tray on the bed with a cup of coffee, a glass of water, fruit salad and aspirin.
The bed wriggled when Sam sat down, putting his hand on your shoulder above the blanket.
“Morning sleeping beauty.” He whispered, lifting the blanket more to see your face. You had little black circles around your eyes, and your hair was messy, but still, you were the most beautiful creature in the world in his eyes.
“Can you please shut the curtains.” You growled with your low, tired morning voice. Sam got up and shut the curtains, while you sat up when there was finally dark enough for you to threw the blanket away.
Sam sat back down, while you took the aspirin and the glass of water from the tray, throwing the pill to your mouth and drinking the water with one sitting.
You had your eyes closed when you slowly put the glass back down to the tray, and Sam dragged hair strap from your face behind your ear.
You smacked a little and tasted how in your mouth it tasted like shit. You didn’t wash your teeth before starting to sleep, and the couple drags from Sam’s cigarette was still lingering in your mouth. And you didn’t miss that taste at all.
“How is that pretty head?” Sam whispered, smiling as he gently brushed your hair.
You grabbed the cup of coffee, smelled the delicious aroma before taking a careful sip. You closed your eyes and sighed long.
Sam brushed your hair, smiling small when he looked at you.
You took the bowl of fruit salad, starting slowing load the fruits in your mouth to give your stomach something to eat.
After few moments Sam opened his mouth again.
“So you accepted the India job?”
You nodded.
“You want us to do it together?” Sam continued, taking a piece of banana from the bowl between his fingers and putting it in his mouth.
You tasted the fresh fruits in your mouth, feeling how the taste of the cigarette was still lingering in there too from last night, as looking at Sam.
You wanted to go on an adventure with Sam, that was one of the reasons you fell in love with him. He was like you, adventurer, explorer. You two could explore the whole world together.
“Of course I want you there with me. But first I need to talk to Chloe about the details.”
Sam hooked his fingers under your chin, pulled your face closer and gently pushed his lips against yours.
When you withdrew from the kiss, you grinned, the taste of the cigarette was bothering you, and you wanted to get into the shower and brush your teeth.
"Thank you for breakfast." You whispered as Sam nodded.
"I'm going to shower." You smiled, biting your lip while Sam gave you a small peck on your lips. You wanted to ask him to join you, but you wanted to take your time to wash the hangover away from you.
You got up from the bed, and Sam took the tray with him and headed to the kitchen, as you made your way to the bathroom.
Chloe called you later that day, and you asked her to come to your place to talk. Sam left the city as you waited for Chloe to come and talk about the details. She was okay with the fact that Sam would come too, as long as you tell everything about the Tusk and Hoysala and you won’t expose yourselves.
You put the cups on the table while waiting for the coffee to pour when your doorbell rang, and you walked to the door.
Chloe stood there with same clothes as yesterday, since she stayed last night in Elena and Nate’s place.
You walked to the kitchen, you poured the coffee into the cups and put the milk on the table and sat another side of the table while Chloe grabbed the milk and added it to her coffee.
“So, what we need to do?” You asked, taking the milk can and poured it into your cup, and taking a sip.
“You two need to get there to play these experts to find one disk for me. That disk will tell us where the tusk is.”
You nodded, sounded too easy.
“What about this, Asav?” Chloe took from her pocket some papers, put them on the table and pushed them closer to you as you reached to them and started to read.
“He’s ruthless and smart. You two need to learn your parts well so there won’t be any holes in there and he won’t suspect anything. You think you can teach Sam everything in five weeks?”
You looked at the picture of Asav and some of his men and read the small newspaper new about them.
“He won’t hesitate to put a bullet in your head,” Chloe said with low voice, making you look at her with your eyebrows.
“So I have five weeks to teach Sam everything he needs, and then we go to India to search the disk?”
Chloe nodded.
You turned to look at the picture again before you placed it back on the table.
“I can do that.”
“Good, I’ll bring you all I got for this case, about the tusk, the disk, Asav and his men so you can start your research. I leave from town, but I’ll be back in two weeks to test you and especially Sam.”
You drank the rest of your coffee and stood up to pour yourself more when you heard how Chloe put something jingling on the table.
When you turned, you saw red furry covered handcuffs on the table.
“Are you serious?” You asked while grabbing the milk.
“You sure you don’t want to test them?” Chloe asked, putting the keys next to the cuffs.
You put the milk back to table, leaned the table lightly with your hips while biting your lip. It was tempting to try what Sam would think about this new thing. He sure was one dirty pervert in bed - or anywhere else public or semi-public - but was he this dirty?

India's great athlete PV Sandhu
P V Sindhu was born into a Telugu based Jat family.  Sindhu's father PV Raman and mother P Vijay have both been volleyball players.  While Sindhu plays badminton.
When asked about this by her father, they say that she was very impressed with the success of former Badminton and current coach Pullela Gopichand of India.  One day the outgoing Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu N.  Pullela Gopichand was honored by Chandrababu.  Seeing which PV Sindhu was very impressed and chose badminton
That day i.e. in 2001 Pullela Gopichand was All England Open Badminton Champion.  Due to which Sindhu was very impressed and determined to become a badminton player.
 Badminton life
In this way, Sindhu learned the basics of badminton at the Badminton Court of the Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad, under the guidance of coach Mahbub Ali, who teaches badminton.
After that she started learning the nuances of badminton from Inspiring Man i.e. Pullela Gopichand.
Sindhu's path was not so easy.  There was a long distance of 56 km between his home and Badminton Academy, due to which five hours of his day was spent traveling.
Sindhu did not hold back from working hard since childhood.  Sindhu used to walk from her house to the academy at 4 am to reach the academy on time.  (Because the afternoon session was a reserve for world star Saina Nehwal.) She then reached her destination on time.
After coming to the academy, Pullela used to sweat a lot daily under the guidance of Gopichand and practiced a lot with his fellow players and returned to his home in the late evening.
This was the routine of 12-year-old Sindhu, which is 5 times harder than the routine of any common person.
 Winning campaign
Well, due to constant hard work and early learning of the techniques of badminton, she became a strong player.  Due to which, at that very young age, he won a heap of victorious medals.  As a result, Sindhu soon proved to be the ace of her region.
Sindhu won the flag at the national level by winning the Under 10, 13, and 14 titles of the All India Ranking Championship.
With such an outstanding performance, Sindhu soon got a chance to showcase her jewelery at the 2009 Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships, where she tasted her first international win by winning the Bronze medal.
This was the beginning of tasting the victory at the international level, winning the Asia Youth Under 19 championship in July 2012.
In the same year, in the China Master Super Series tournament, beating the 2012 London Olympic champion Lee Jurai created a storm in the whole badminton world.
Sindhu suffered injury at this China Open, yet she participated in 77th Senior National Badminton Championships and also reached the finals.  But his wicket was heavy on his game, due to which he lost the final match by 15-21, 21-15, 15-21 to Sayli Gokhale.
After this championship, Sindhu decided to treat her injury first, which led to her dropping the Japan Open and several national championships.
However, when P V Sindhu got fit, she competed in the Syed Modi India Grand Prix Gold held in Lucknow in December 2012, where she had to settle for second place, while she did not lose a single set until reaching the final.
But despite losing in the final match, he got a big advantage in the world rankings.  She went on to rank 15th in world badminton, her career best ranking.
The year of 2013 was a big bang for him, where he won against the best players of the world.  This year Sindhu won the Malaysian Open Title and won the world no.  Becoming the first Indian woman to win the World Championship by defeating 2 Chinese player Wang Yihan in the quarterfinals and 7th ranked Chinese player Wang Xiian in the final.
This year his journey to victory did not stop here.  She won her first Grand Prix Gold by defeating Canadian Michelle Lee in the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold.
At the end of the year, Sindhu's victory gave her a huge gift when she was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Indian President.
Like in 2013, in 2014, P V Sindhu made a big debut in the badminton world with her spirits, where she reached the semi-finals at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and World Cup held in Denmark, World No.2 Xi'ian Wang and World No.  5 South Korea's player Bae Ion Joo retained his winning streak.  Due to which she became the first Indian woman to win consecutive medals in the World Cup.
P V Sindhu became faster and mature in his game as he won against the biggest players of the world.  Proof of this was seen in 2015, when they dusted off the top players of the world like Ty Joo Ing, Wang Ian and Carolina Marin at the Denmark Open.  But in the final, Li Jurai suffered a defeat.
Macau was able to retain its Grand Prix Gold by winning the Grand Prix Gold in November 2015.
 Rio Olympics
Successive wins had now become a habit for Sindhu, as we can see in 2016, where she won gold at the Malaysia Master Grand Prix Gold earlier this year and is now the Badminton World No.1 in the pre-quarterfinals at the Rio Olympics.  Tai Ju Ing, 8, held the world no. In the quarter-finals.  It made history by reaching the badminton final of the Rio Olympics by defeating 2nd ranked Chinese Wang Ehan and sixth-ranked Japanese player Nozomi Okuhara in the semi-finals.  Where he competed against world no.  1 Spanish player is from Carolina Marian.  There is a record of 3-4 between the two i.e. Sindhu has defeated Carolina 3 times, while Carolina has defeated Sindhu 4 times.

How England transformed themselves from one-day no-hopers to World Cup finalists in just four years
As captain Eoin Morgan pointed out in the wake of Thursday's demolition of Australia, the prospect of England making a World Cup final would have been truly laughable four years ago.
Back then, England were the punchline of all jokes, a bunch of no-hopers who'd been comprehensively eclipsed by just about every other cricketing nation on the planet
At the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand they failed to make it out of the group stage. They brutally lost to Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, traveling home early.
A moment of joy for England as they complete their demolition of Australia at Edgbaston on Thursday to reach a first World Cup final since 1992
Captain Eoin Morgan admitted afterwards it would have been laughable to think of England as World Cup finalists four years ago when they crashed out in the group stage
It was certainly a contrast to four years ago when Morgan's England crashed out in the group
Joe Root is pictured during England's 2015 loss to Bangladesh that sealed their exit
Against New Zealand, they were skittled for a paltry 123, a target that was knocked off in more 12.2 overs. They allowed Sri Lanka to chase down an apparently daunting target of 310 for the loss of just one wicket.
In a tournament that was pretty much designed for all the top nations to make the quarter-finals, woeful England could only manage to beat Scotland and Afghanistan.
It was an all-time nadir in English one-day cricket and a chance to press the reset button. Luckily, they did and now the whole nation is enjoying the achievements of a team transformed.
As England prepare to face New Zealand in Sunday's World Cup final at Lord's, we take a look at a timeline or their journey from laughing stock to potential champions.
December 2014 – Morgan is appointed captain
England were asking for trouble when they made the decision to remove Alastair Cook as their one-day Captain and replace him with Morgan just two months before the World Cup.
Results, however, had been poor for some time. England had lost home series against Sri Lanka and India in the summer of 2014, then lost five times to the Sri Lankans that winter.
Cook was axed on December 19, leaving Morgan barely any time to prepare for the intensity of a World Cup tournament. It's little wonder they crumbled.
But in the long term, appointing this steely Dubliner to lead England's one-day revolution was an inspired choice. Likewise the call to stick with him after the World Cup failure.
It is Morgan who has led by example as England devised a blueprint or ultra-aggressive cricket to ensure they were never humiliated in such a manner again.
Eoin Morgan was brought in as England captain two months before the 2015 World Cup and faced an unenviable task – but England wisely stuck with him despite the early exit
] May 2015 – Trevor Bayliss comes in as coach
The first act of Andrew Strauss when England's director of cricket was appointed in May 2015 was Peter Moores and bring in Australian Bayliss.
With a view to a home World Cup tournament in 2019, Strauss decided there would be more emphasis on the one-day format and redress the traditional imbalance towards Test cricket.
It was a belated acknowledgment that the sport was changing and that England had been left behind.
With the advent of Twenty20 and the runaway success of the Indian Premier League, batsmen were going bigger and bigger. England's belief that 250-280 was a winning score in one-day games was outmoded.
Led by Bayliss and Morgan, they encouraged batsmen to not retreat into their shells when under pressure and play more shots to express themselves.
It took the wisdom, ideas and experience of an Australian coach, Trevor Bayliss, to get an ailing England back on track in all formats of the game
Morgan told the BBC: 'In the 2015 World Cup, there was a drastic change in the move towards higher scores. Scores moved from 300 to 330 on average and that meant you had to change everyone's default mode. "
It also helped that Strauss allowed England's players to go off and play in the IPL and Australia's Big Bash so they felt more comfortable with the child or game plan England were now using.
2015 – Immediate signs of progress against New Zealand
This had a liberating effect on England's players and there were signs of improvement straight away as England won their first post-World Cup series at home to New Zealand.
In the first ODI at Edgbaston, Jos Buttler smashed a personal high of 129 and Joe Root scored 104 as England posted 408 for nine – it was the first time an England side had surpassed the 400 mark.
They also posted scores of 365, 302 and 350 in wining the series and the green shoots of recovery were apparent. They also had New Zealand duties on their own game – and beaten them.
Joe Root marks his century against New Zealand in 2015, a series that shifted expectations
Bayliss ruthlessly made changes to the personnel as well as instigating a shift in mentality. The likes of James Anderson and Stuart Broad were superb in Test cricket, but less well-suited to the ODI format.
Likewise more conservative batsmen such as Gary Ballance and Ian Bell, who'd been part of the World Cup squad.
Jason Roy, Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow, the well-explosive, such as Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid.
After beating New Zealand, England lost a late summer series to Australia. It remains the last time England lost a bilateral one-day series on home soil.
The 2015 series victory over New Zealand was an early sign of progress for this England side
2016 – New world record
Look at the England side for the home series with Pakistan in 2016 and it really starts to look familiar.
A top order of Roy, Hales, Root, Buttler, Morgan and Ben Stokes with a bowling unit of Plunkett, Rashid, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood.
With the side looking settled, England thrashed Pakistan 4 -1 in the series and were starting to pick up some valuable momentum.
The highlight came at Trent Bridge when Hales demolished the Pakistan bowlers, scoring 171 off 122 balls as England established a new world record of 444 in 50 overs or absolute carnage.
The master plan was right on track.
Alex Hales was in brutal big-hitting form as England set a new world record score of 444
2017 – Champions Trophy setback
A useful yardstick of England's one-day revolution would come with a home Champions Trophy in the summer of 2017.
Morgan's side were in excellent form and romped through the group phase with wins over Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia.
But they came unstuck in the semi-final against Pakistan in Cardiff, failing to adapt to a slow pitch and perhaps believing their own hype a little too much.
An eight-wicket de feat, having been bowled out for just 211, sent them crashing back down to earth.
However, as this World Cup has shown, it would prove a useful lesson in how to handle the crushing pressure or tournament cricket.
England were brought crashing back down to earth at the 2017 Champions Trophy
Jonny Bairstow reacts with dismay after being dismissed during that semi-final at Cardiff
September 2017 – The Stokes and Hales incident
Hours before England were due t o play West Indies in an ODI at Bristol, news broke that two of their key players, Stokes and Hales, had been involved in an altercation outside a nightclub in the early hours of the morning.
Stokes missed England's Ashes tour of Australia that winter as a result, while Hales was banned for six matches but still went on the tour Down Under.
Both players would eventually return to the side but it was an unwanted distraction at a time when major progress was being made.
For Stokes, it turned out to be a watershed moment in his career. His maturity since both on and off the field has made him England's talisman.
Ben Stokes and Alex Hales hit the headlines for the wrong reasons following their altercation outside a nightclub in Bristol before an ODI in 2017
2018 – Smashing the Aussies (twice)
England were smashed 4-0 in the Ashes but it was a very different story when they were with afterwards in the one-day series.
Any series against Australia is generally the litmus test for the abilities of an England team and this 4-1 Morgan's triumph confirmed side had what it takes to compete – and win – in the most hostile of environments.
The quality of Australia's bowling and the conditions prevented a repeat of the enormous scores previously seen but England successfully found ways to win in often
England had also become adept at chasing down targets, something that would become a real strength. In the first ODI at the MCG, they successfully chased down Australia's 304 with seven balls to spare.
Eoin Morgan and Tom Curran pose with the series after England's win Down Under
Things were even better when Australia came to England for a five-match series in the summer of 2018.
England passed 300 three times in a 5-0 series whitewash with Roy, Hales and Buttler, in particular, excelling. But once again it was Trent Bridge that witnessed something truly extraordinary.
In three hours of carnage that saw England's batsmen hit 21 sixes and 41 fours, they posted a new world record of 481 as Hales (147), Bairstow (139) and others flayed Australia's bowlers to all corners of the ground.
It would prove to have an enormous psychological impact on England's oldest rivals.
England inflicted a huge psychological blow on Australia by posting a world record score of 481 in the third ODI of the 2018 series at Trent Bridge
Jonny Bairstow celebrate his century that day as England ran riot against their old enemy
April 2019 – Handling Hales
Two days after England named their World Cup squad, news broke that Hales had failed a drug test and banned by his county Nottinghamshire.
Despite the World Cup being just weeks away, England were ruthless and removed Hales from their squad for the tournament.
The indiscretion left them with little alternative despite Hales being one of their gun batsmen.
A new opening partnership of Roy and Bairstow was formed and they proved to be one of England's greatest successes during the World Cup run.
Hales was dropped from the England side just before the World Cup after his failed drug test
April 2019 – Welcome Jofra
It had been clear for some time that England had a deserved to be considered World Cup favorites.
But their bowling attack was about to become even stronger with the introduction of a player who looks set to become a legend of English cricket for many years to come.
Born in Barbados but eligible for England through his father, the ECB changed their own residency rules to get him playing before the W orld Cup.
95mph bowlers in an England shirt are a rare and precious commodity and it soon became apparent that Archer would provide the X-factor needed to go all the way in the tournament.
He certainly didn't disappoint. He has taken 17 wickets at this World Cup, with Australia's most important being dangerous opener Aaron Finch first ball at Edgbaston on Thursday.
Jofra Archer certainly provided England with the X-factor during the World Cup

2019 ICC Cricket World Cup: Team Preview Part-2
In case you missed the last post, we analysed the strengths and weaknesses of half of the participating teams in the ICC Cricket World Cup. Without further ado, let’s look at the chances of the top five ranked sides in the biggest spectacle in cricket:
Australia (ICC ODI Ranking: 5)
Captain: Aaron Finch
Coach: Justin Langer
Key Player: David Warner
WC Best Finish: Champions (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015)
Consistency is on Australia’s side. Recent series wins against India and Pakistan away from home is evidence of the resolve of the five-time world champions. The return of disgraced batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith could not have come at a better time either. The former left his devastating mark in this year’s edition of the IPL, finishing as the top run-getter at the end of the tournament. A solid pace attack boasting the likes of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cumins is well complimented by Nathan Lyon and Adam Zampa, the latter of whom will be effective on the dry surfaces in England. Though the Men from Down Under are still among the favourites, whether they will be able to click as a batting unit collectively is still a concern. With bowling being their main asset, the Aussies will look chase or defend middle-level totals.
New Zealand (ICC ODI Ranking: 4)
Captain: Kane Williamson
Coach: Gary Stead
Key Player: Kane Williamson
WC Best Finish: Runners-up (2015)
New Zealand has consistently reached the semi-finals since the inception of the tournament. Four years ago, they moved one step closer and reached the finals. The Black Caps have benefitted with easy initial fixtures against weaker sides like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan in the first two weeks, which will allow them to build momentum for tougher fixtures to follow. Overall, they do comprise of a balanced unit having a strong leader in Kane Williamson as well as the experience of Ross Taylor. The Kiwis will find themselves at home in England with favourable batting conditions. The likes of power players in the batting order like Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Colin de Grandhomme and Jimmy Nesham will instil fear in any bowling line-up. Down the order, they have the flexibility to adapt, which coupled with some gritty fielding, make them a side to take very seriously.
South Africa (ICC ODI Ranking: 3)
Captain: Faf du Plessis
Coach: Ottis Gibson
Key Player: Quinton de Kock
WC Best Finish: Semi Finals (1992, 1999, 2007, 2015)
It’s strange, isn’t it? A team that’s always been hailed as a force in all formats of the game just can’t seem to catch a break in the biggest stage. But if anyone can lead the Proteas to their maiden title, it’s captain Faf du Plessis. The 34-year-old admits the side isn’t as formidable as their yesteryear counterparts. The gap left by the retirement of the legendary AB de Villiers will be deeply felt as well, but the skipper believes that his unit is ready for the challenge. What the South Africans do have in their favour is arguably the best bowling line-up in the tournament. The experience of Dale Steyn and Imran Tahir, coupled with the raw pace of Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi make a well-oiled bowling line-up. Their batting isn’t bad either. Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock is in the form of his life, and Faf, Markram and Amla are there to steady the ship in the middle overs. South Africa has always gone into a World Cup with a strong side; this time is not any different. The question is: Can they handle the big-game pressure?
India (ICC ODI Ranking: 2)
Captain: Virat Kohli
Coach: Ravi Shastri
Key Player: Virat Kohli
WC Best Finish: Champions (1983, 2011)
It’s Virat Kohli’s first stint as captain in the World Cup, but one thing he has going for him is experience. The skipper has been part of two World Cup winning campaigns: the 2008 U-19 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup. Being among the best batsman in the modern game is just another feather in his cap. The problem with the Men in Blue lies with their overreliance on the top order comprising of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and the aforementioned skipper. They are equipped with the limitless experience of MS Dhoni, but how often can they call upon the former captain to rescue them from precarious situations? KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar and Kedar Jadhav will form the middle order, but consistency isn’t their strong suit. But bowling is whole other aspect. Buffed by the World #1 bowler Jasprit Bumrah, India has got plenty of variety on hand to compliment him. The variations of “Kul-Cha” will come in handy in England. India’s strong suit has always been chasing totals, and we’ll probably be seeing a lot of it this month.
England (ICC ODI Ranking: 1)
Captain: Eoin Morgan
Coach: Trevor Bayliss
Key Player: Jos Buttler
WC Best Finish: Runners-up (1979, 1987, 1992)
This is probably the most formidable England line-up in decades. Over the years, Morgan’s side has dominated white-ball cricket and made their way up the ICC rankings to feature on the top spot. Playing on home soil and support by locals will immensely energize the hosts. England’s biggest strength is their deep and powerful batting line-up. In the recent home series against Pakistan, England recorded totals in excess of 300 runs in four consecutive ODIs. On the down side, they’re bowling was guilty of leaking huge amounts of runs in recent series. The obvious game plan would be to outscore the opposition. They’ll be relying on strong starts from openers Bairstow and Roy, with the likes of Joe Root being a solid anchor, and leave it to Morgan, Buttler and Stokes to devastate hapless bowlers in the death overs. If all goes well, England could well finish with the elusive trophy at the end of the campaign.

AUS vs SA: Australia Beat South Africa By 5 Runs To Book Final Showdown Against India
Tumblr media
Defending champions Australia powered into their sixth Women's T20 World Cup final Thursday to meet India after ending South Africa's dreams in a rain-hit semi-final. Set a revised 98 from 13 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method after Australia made 134 for five off their 20 overs, the South Africans managed 92 for five to just miss out on a first-ever final. The Proteas won the toss and put Australia in to bat at the Sydney Cricket Ground after rain that soaked the city all day finally cleared.Their total was spearheaded by skipper Meg Lanning's 49, while Nadine de Klerk took three wickets for just 19 runs.Set a revised chase, big-hitting South Africa opener Lizelle Lee smacked a huge six off spinner Sophie Molineux to get the run chase underway, but then holed out to Ashleigh Gardner on the boundary ropes.Skipper Dane van Niekerk looked dangerous but pace spearhead Megan Schutt clean-bowled her for 12, then Lanning took a difficult catch to remove Mignon du Preez and leave South Africa struggling at 26 for three after five overs.  Laura Wolvaardt (41 not out) and Sune Luus (21) got them back on track with some power-hitting to set up an exciting finale with 32 runs needed off the last three overs -- only to fall five runs short.Earlier, Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy aggressively set about building a big total for Australia.Healy was dropped in the fourth over by wicket-keeper Trisha Chetty after smacking two successive fours from Nonkululeko Mlaba. But she didn't make the most of her second life, falling in the next over after a quickfire 18 off 13 balls.In-form fellow opener Mooney blasted 28 and looked in fine fettle until she was clean-bowled by Nadine de Klerk.South Africa successfully put the brakes on the run rate with Jess Jonassen gone after three balls as Australia reached 70 for three at the halfway mark.Ashleigh Gardner then went without scoring to de Klerk, getting an outside edge as the collapse continued.Rachael Haynes made a battling 17 in a 32-run stand with Lanning before she too departed to de Klerk, as the captain was left to carry her team to what became a winning total. #Yuvraj #Singh #Biography #Photos #Wallpapers #brunettebabes #celebrity #eroticmodel #fashionable #fashionshoot #hairdo #makeuponpoint #naturalbeauty #pretty #technology
Yuvraj Singh is an Indian cricketer, and the son of former Indian fast bowler and Punjabi movie star Yograj Singh. Yuvraj is a left-hand middle-order batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He has been a member of the Indian cricket team in ODIs since 2000 and played his very first Test match in 2003.
He was the vice-captain of the ODI team from late-2007 to late-2008. At the 2007 World Twenty20, he famously hit six sixes in an earlier mentioned against England’s Stuart Broad a feat performed only three occasions previously in any form of senior cricket, and previously do not in an international match between two Test cricket nations. He was named the Man of the Tournament in the 2011 Cricket World Cup and was one of the top performers at the 2007 World Twenty20, both of which India won. Yuvraj Singh belongs to a Sikh Jat Family.Yuvraj Singh’s parents are Yograj Singh and Shabnam Singh. Yuvraj has a brother, Zoravar singh. Yograj and Shabnam divorced years ago, with Yuvraj choosing to stay with his mother.Tennis and roller skating were among Yuvraj favourite sports during his childhood and he was quite good at both. He won the National U-14 Roller Skating Championship. His father threw away the medal and told him to forget skating and concentrate on cricket. He would take Yuvraj training everyday. He studied at the DAV Public School in Chandigarh, and he says that though my maximum attendance was at the cricket pitch. I averaged 100 on my school ground and just like the Kingsmead, Kapil Dev used to drop by sometimes and chat with us. Those moments spent with him were so inspiring, I would get goose bumps. One thing I can never forget about my school was this substantial sign they had on the wall saying DAV in big broad letters.
But my unintended lusty sixes broke the D first and then came along V and finally the A. My earliest memories of playing cricket are from the under-10 and under-12 cricket levels at the Sector 16 stadium in Chandigarh. On 19 September 2007 against England in the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 Super 8 match held at Kingsmead in Durban, he hit 6 Sixes in an over off Stuart Broad. This served him to reach the fastest fifty ever in a Twenty20 game, off just 12 balls and also the fastest in any form of international cricket. This was the fourth time that six sixes had been hit in one over in senior cricket, the first time in Twenty20 cricket, and the first time in any form of international cricket against a bowler from a Test playing nation. He has also hit the longest six of the tournament: 119 metres (390 ft) off Australian bowler Brett Lee. Yuvraj was awarded a Porsche 911 for his 6 sixes achievement by the Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Lalit Modi. Yuvraj also received Rs.10,000,000 (US$252,716) in cash from the BCCI for his performance in the tournament. He is also the first Indian player to cross 100 Sixes in Twenty 20 matches.
Yuvraj also scored 70 runs off 30 balls and went on to claim the Man of the Match against Australia in the World Twenty20 semifinals at Durban. He was the icon player and captain for Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab in the first two seasons; in 2010, the third season, icon player status was abolished and the captaincy given to Kumar Sangakkara. They came second in the round-robin stage of the tournament, but misplaced their semi-final to the Chennai Super Kings. On 1 May 2009, Yuvraj picked up his first hat-trick in T20 cricket against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kingsmead in Durban, the same ground where he hit his six sixes. He dismissed Robin Uthappa, Mark Boucher and Jacques Kallis. On 17 May 2009, Yuvraj picked up his second Twenty20 hat-trick against Deccan Chargers at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Yuvraj dismissed Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds and Venugopal Rao.
The Pune Warriors were a clean team introduced for the 2011 IPL. Yuvraj Singh was bought by the team and chosen as captain. Pune Warriors finished ninth, ahead of only the Delhi Daredevils. From 14 matches, Yuvraj scored 343 runs at an average of 34.30, including two half-centuries. After much controversy BCCI has allowed Pune Warriors to have his replacement for 2012 Indian Premier League, citing his medical condition and non-availability for 2012 IPL due to the same.
