Propaganda
Ruby Myers (Typist Girl, Cinema Queen)— I just recently saw a documentary about her and thought that besides being really pretty, she had a very interesting life. She was born in the early 1900s in India to a Baghdadi Jewish family, and became the first woman to act in an Indian silent film. In the 1930s she started her own film production house, Rubi Pics, way before most female producers in Hollywood broke through. More info can be found in this Golden Globes webpage on her life [link]
Ginger Rogers (Swing Time, Top Hat)—Look I’ll level with you, I’ve never seen her in a musical and I know that she’s an amazing dancer and she’ll be even hotter when I finally watch Top Hat but I’m not submitting her as a dancer I’m submitting her as an ACTRESS. Her comic timing is impeccable!!!!! She’s full to bursting with life and in every role she seems to be having FUN, you can practically feel the twinkle in her eye. With her natural warmth it’s like she’s letting you in on the joke, y’all get to have this fun together! Making me laugh is hot!!! [If you'd like to see Ginger dance, videos below the cut]
This is round 2 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Ruby Myers:

Ginger Rogers propaganda:
Tumblr media
She needs no introduction! An undeniable powerhouse on the dancefloor, and no less talented an actress. I once watched a compilation of cinema's greatest dance scenes and one of her and Fred Astaire's dances was featured, and one of the talking heads said he pitied her for 'having to keep up with him' - or something to that effect. Bullshit, I cry. Ginger Rogers was his absolute equal, and underplaying her incredible skill is downright criminal. I want the 'Cheek to Cheek' sequence from Top Hat to be permanently burned into my memory.
Tumblr media
"Backwards in high heels", as the saying goes (though the pedant in me must point out that she in fact spent her fair share of time leading or dancing side-by-side). One of the earliest twinkle-toed ladies of the silver screen, and in terms of acting/persona, her balance of wide-eyed cuteness and movie-star glamour has never quite been replicated.
Tumblr media
we all know her beloved string of musicals with fred but ginger also has an extensive and varied non-fred filmography that she's great in! a few ginger moments that are important 2 me personally ginger singing “we’re in the money” in gold diggers of 1933, complete with a verse in pig latin bc this whole movie is kinda mocking the concept of anyone actually being in the money in 1933; ginger and una merkel singing a verse of “shuffle off to buffalo” in 42nd street, providing some statler & waldorf-esque commentary on newlyweds from the upper berth of a railway car (interesting that belly was apparently a risque word in 1933 - maybe its bc the lyric is innuendo-ing about out of wedlock pregnancies - and that panties was a term for men’s underthings!); a favorite fred & ginger number
Tumblr media
Ginger Rogers could do everything! She could sing, dance and act. She was hilarious in comedies, moving in dramatic roles (she won an Oscar for Kitty Foyle in 1940) and absolutely gorgeous!
Listen, no shade to Fred Astaire at all, but she both kept up with him step for step and then later went on to WIN AN OSCAR FOR ACTING. (which he did not.) truly a double threat!!!
Tumblr media
One of the best dancers in Hollywood! Her work with Fred Astaire is just incredible.
ONE LINE: "Everything Fred did, Ginger did backwards and in heels" AND THEYRE RIGHT! Rogers was a total dance badass, and a lot of movie buffs know the story, but the Never Gonna Dance number from Swing Time took almost 50 takes, and allegedly by the end of filming it her white shoes had been stained pink because her feet were bleeding. As a note, she looks crazy gorgeous in this number. Watching these two dance is insane. They match up to each other in a way my mom describes as "divine" and she's right. DANCE NUMBERS!
youtube
Let's Call The Whole Thing Off (Shall We Dance, 1937, dancing starts at 3:14, they're in ROLLERSKATES)
youtube
(Ginger Rogers is the hottest woman ever to live in this number. seeing this as a teenager altered my brain chemistry)
youtube
(also watch her feet and how she moves opposite Astaire in this one. We all know our boy Freddie had that precision demon but jesus christ Miss Rogers, let a girl live!)
Pick Yourself Up, Swing Time 1936 (Everyone's seen this one but by god you are going to see it AGAIN!)
youtube
Shall We Dance, 1937 (duet begins at 2:34)
youtube
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Roberta 1935 (There's just something about Ginger Rogers in a slick black dress man)
youtube
The Continental, The Gay Divorcee 1934
youtube
God she's MAGIC in this one.
Gay Divorcee's Ending Montage 1934The infamous table and chairs spin happens at about 0:49. Pay CLOSE attention to her in this bc it looks like witchcraft and I feel lightheaded whenever I watch this movie bc shes THAT awesome.
youtube
She is a miracle to watch. Sorry for the sheer amount of clips. My entire family is like madly in love with Ginger Rogers.

The questions regarding smngg are
They had a global audition in many countries even in southeast asian countries this year They even had a live audition of girls from India so do you think they will add any girls from this audition in their girl group or any indian girl as kpop entertainment are welcoming indians too.
When they will debut
No of members
Concept and nationality too also rumors are this time its going to be south east asian group
Their impact on 5th gen
Will they be big as blackpink
Level of success
thank you for the.. repeating asks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
About rough energy (general reading), SMNGG as a collective group are all over the place. I believe there was change in the lineup in the recent weeks, possibly because of them being different tham the rest. They could've broke a rule as SME trainee. Nothing else. I could see a few girls close with each other, bu the way but nothing much.
About whether they'll debut in the 4th quarter of this year, yeah, I can see it, but there will be delays for their debut preparations in a way or another. I can see SMNGG debuting in December this year if they solve everything as soon as possible. There could be a scandal in the company that will be revealed publicly. If related to the girls, it can be similar situation to Karina's before aespa debuted (not saying it will be bullying 100%).
As amount of members, I see 8. They were going to be 9 if that girl wasn't kicked out. The original plan was 5-member girl group but they scrapped it out.
I do see their concept being versatile rather than having specific vibe. Maybe like Red Velvet's (oh, their impact!) but they haven't decided it very specific what and how exactly it should be.
Girl #1: The most hardworking out of all of them. The most talented but the most introverted too. She might be an it-girl of her generation, or has the potential to be very impactful. Basically, her personality is very relateable and loved. Possibly Na Haeun. As positions, I don't feel any. Maybe a bunch of them at once (Like Vocalist, Dancer, FOTG..). Might be interested in songwriting/producing songs in the future.
Girl #2: Being a trainee from quite some time. Also very hardworking and plans quite a lot. Might receive the leader position.. so possibly she's the oldest girl. I don't feel other positions. If that's Helen, then she can receive also a dancer position.
Girl #3: Very intiutive and optimistic person. She learns dances and everything else slower. If the other idols are way greater dancers, then she might receive criticism from k-netizens bc of it. Don't feel specific positions yet.
Girl #4: Might be foreigner. She feels determinated to debut, but also feels this isn't worth it to some extent. Very emotional too. Might receive vocal position (Lead?). I don't feel she's from India but she might be from an island - Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan or Malaysia. Definitely Asian.
Girl #5: Although as hardworker as the first girl, she doubts her own abilities and talents. Might have issues with her confindence, her mental health, these things. This doesn't make her less talented but she's not on her best time when I asked. Therefore, I don't feel any certain positions.
Girl #6: Might receive dancer position. Very hardworking, also very realistic mindset (with optimistic tendencies). She tries to be a good.. rapper? but doesn't feel this is her thing. SME seems to have in mind for her to be "dancer, (something else)" as positions. She tries with rapping but doesn't work as of now.
Girl #7: Might be the second most popular member in the future. Extremely emotional, very talkative, very creative too. She gives me Ningning vibes, I won't lie (because of her Libra stellium). Main vocalist, I feel so.
Girl #8: Overthinker for sure, might be very critic to herself. She is also working very hard, might come from a wealthy family. She's not rigged for sure, she might be the 2nd all-rounder of the group. I don't feel specific positions yet.
So far I sense 1 (certain?) foreigner.. and the rest of them Koreans. The 2nd girl might've lived in foreign lands, maybe Australia if that's Helen.
Their popularity in the 5th generation won't be that great, they might be overshadowed by other groups. So far I feel ther relevance will be similar to Red Velvet (just enough). Might be more popular outside of Korea.
Their success will be "just enough". The half of the girls will be more relevant than the rest. I don't feel anything prominent.

Assign your moots bollywood songs and why?
Stop I love this so much 🥺😭. I haven’t been listening to Bollywood music much nowadays so this is totally on my old knowledge since idk any new songs.
@sohnric : Hey Ya! From the movie Karthik calling Karthik
This is totally because bar just genuinely radiates the kind of energy where you stop whatever you’re doing and just stare at her once she walks in the room.
@from-izzy : Haule Haule From the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Hmm so basically to sum it up Izz is someone who will make you feel comfortable in an instant even when you just started talking with her. That’s just how she is tbh and I love the vibes of this song so much 🥺
Bonus I assign Chammak Challo from the movie Ra.One to @from-izzy because I can and I will 🥰🫶🏻
@kimsohn : What Jhumka? From the movie Rocky aur Rani Kii prem kahani
I think this is self explanatory. Shru and me had talked about pretty jhumkas and what not when it comes to Indian culture. I totally think of Shru when I listen to What Jhumka now 🥺.
@winterchimez : Love You Zindagi from the movie Dear Zindagi
At first I was planning on giving Cham Cham to Als but then when I remembered the song love you zindagi I knew it was for ally because to be fair 1. She was one of the first moots I got close with 2. Girlie is still thriving despite everything 🥺🫂
@cloverdaisies : Saturday Saturday from the movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania
Plz don’t judge this song yall ☹️. This is like the song you will hear at a dance party in India and clo fits this so well 🥺. Like yes girl go and get your drinks after the tough week 😭. (I was gonna give Party all night but I don’t want clo to get mad at me 🥰)
@strayed-quokka : Garmi from the movie street dancer 3D
Hmm I will say it. Lenlen makes me blush all the time hence this song so yes but lemme remember more oh yes! Subha Hone Na De because I just know if me and lenlen meet we would stay up all night just talking, eating, dancing and what not 🥰.
@astrae4 : Ratta Maar from the movie Student of the year
Poor baby has back to back exams nowadays hence this song 🥺😭. All the best non 🫶🏻 but if not that song then Tum Se Hi from Jab We Met because she just meets these vibes so well ☹️🥺. Literally one of my favourite movies and songs <3
@o-onikix : Paisa from the movie De Dana Dan
Hmm 🥰 because this girl is always in some need of money (us girl us) but like Nara is the depiction of Ye Ishq hai from Jab We Met so yes that song too because coughs 🥰 but also Badtamerz Dil because YJHD is her favourite movie and it’d be a crime if I don’t assign any song from that movie
@quaissants : One Two Three Four (Get On the dance floor) from the movie Chennai Express
Because I can and I will, as in the movie the actor (SRK) is drunk and Mona is drunk without drinking anything most of the time so yes. Other than this song I assign Kashmir Main Tu Kanyakumari simply because i think it fits Mona.
@itsbeeble : Senorita from the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Sooraj Dooba Hain from the movie Roy
It’s always chaos with Reese 🥰 and because she is always awake and is pretty much busy with everything most of the times so she needs these type of things in her life.
@hcuyk : Uff Teri Adaa from the movie Karthik calling Karthik
Have been a huge fan of her since I read Kidult and if I say that this is the biggest compliment I could give as an Indian then? Because the way we all scream to these lyrics when it plays and also she is so these lyrics 😭 (btw plz let me know what emoji you want 🥺😭)
@stealanity : Param Sundari from the movie Mimi
Marty is soooo these lyrics 🥺. Like yes guys she is my param sundari 😍. I don’t have much to say but yes 👏
@juyeonszn : High Heels ke Nachche from the movie Ki and Ka
Omg tbh I don’t know why I chose this song but Dawn is so this song. Idk why but yes.
I think that’s all 😭. Plz let me know if you want a part two with the rest of my moots because I used all my brain juice for this one.

Chuang Asia Thailand Ep 2
More notes, more spoilers, and an updated personal top nine. Welcome to the watch-along!
•The singing battle was wild. I feel like these shows tend to have more dancers than singers but the vocal power on this show is crazy. I really liked how they each have such a different style. Mamcú deserved the win though. She brought so much soul into her performance. Blew poor Yean out of the water I’m afraid.
•Okay Ruan time! Finally! I liked the song and they performed it well. Top t-t-t-t-top killer!
•DAMN the dreamy ladies live up to their name. I’m not immune to tall intimidatingly beautiful actress women.
•What is going on?? Why are they performing a soap opera now where Mike Angelo is cheating on his wife AND girlfriend with Jackson Wang?? And another acting exercise?? AND THIS ONE ENDS UP GAY TOO? Okay they’re doing a third scene now. Is this just what the show is now? Lol the last one didn’t end up gay but Nene breaking into an emotional song as they did a dramatic slow-mo scene was pretty funny.
•Alright we got CSR! I love their music! I don’t know the members well though so I won’t give any of them particular preference. They performed Pop?Pop! and I think they were good! The show is being harsh on them though!
•Oh I was so hype when Tegan picked her own musical partner and best friend Kaylen to battle. Like yes thats good reality tv right there! I really really love Tegan’s voice too.
•Dorm time is always fun even though it’s filler. You really get to see the personalities of everybody.
•Rinka and Shye moving up to B!! Also not surprised about Mamcú and Tegan moving all the way down to F. I like them both but they’ve got work to do with dancing. Omg MINGMING! Getting from F to A on her birthday!!
•I had already seen them perform the theme song but anyway it’s fun. I like the song and the dance. Looking forward to getting into the actual competition now!
Tumblr media
I don’t usually think of my top nine as curating an actual group btw. Its just who I’m currently voting for :)
I won’t reintroduce the girls that were on my ranking last time but I’ll do new additions
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Ruan - I loved her on Girls Planet 999! I really think she’s going to debut in this show and I’m happy for her. She just got that star factor!
8. Yuan Ke - Her extra performance song was so lovely and emotional sounding which makes sense since she’s a musical theatre actor. She’s also really cute and I’m a sucker for cute.
9. Zoi - She killed it!! I was drawn to her in her group performance and then her extra performance was amazing! I think that she’s the only representative of India so it was cool to see her show her culture too.
Honorable Mentions:
Liliana Li - I’m intrigued but her cool girl vibe and her singing voice. She seems fun.
Seoyeon - out of the csr girlies I’m most interested in her. She’s so cute and I really liked how she went out of her way to help the other contestants with the theme song dance.

X/1999 Volume 3 Illustration Comments
Tumblr media
1992 Monthly Asuka August Issue, Title Page Illustration
Paper: Kent Block
Lines: PIGMA Graphic ink pen
Color: Dr. Ph. Martin's Color Ink, India Ink, Liquitex
The aim behind this illustration was to use all the space provided by the two-page spread in order to draw a very large close-up. And to top it off, I was bold enough to do the shading using just India Ink (laughs].
Tumblr media
2002 Monthly Asuka April Issue, Cover Illustration
This is a relatively recent piece, so you can see the influence on my drawing style from my work on another series. Her head is large, plus her arms and legs seem short... [laughs]. She's a little plump too.. [laughs]. Since this was an illustration of Kotori and I wanted to give it a pure and innocent atmosphere, she's holding a white lily. I think I did most of the colors with Copic markers. I always draw Kotori with a very faint and soft touch, so here too the lines are drawn with sepia instead of black.
Tumblr media
2002 Monthly Asuka February Extra Issue, X Comic Collection 03 Illustration
This is the illustration of Kotori with the blue headdress I was talking about before. (Ed. Note: See the illustration comment for page 3 of X 3-in-1 Edition, volume 2.] One mistake I made here was that I drew the bird too realistically (laughs]. The background was colored in gray tones so that the feathers in her hand would look like snow. I mostly used color ink for this one; the only place I used Copic markers were her eves. I also used Liquitex for the headdress. I wanted to convey the rounded texture of the beads, and Liquitex is the best thing to use for items like that
Tumblr media
1999 Monthly Asuka June Issue. Title Page Illustration
The image that I had in mind while creating this illustration was that of a female dancer performing a ceremonial offertory dance. I used acrylic gouache for the wisteria flowers. The main lines are drawn in sepia ink. I usually use sepia for inking the outlines of characters with pale color profiles. since the lines stand out too much when they are drawn in black In addition to Hinoto, Kakyo and Kotori also have sepia outlines. Yuto is the only exception: although he has a light color profile, he looks good with crisp outlines, so I often draw him with black ink.
Tumblr media
2000 Monthly Asuka May Issue, Title Page Illustration
"Woman with a Black Veil": what an obvious title [laughs]! I always wanted to draw this kind of image. I thought the dark veil wouldn't really suit Karen; Kanoe was the only character who would look good with something like this. I drew the veil thinking that it kind of looked like a wing. I used color ink for the background and I purposely shaded it in a way that lacked uniformity
Tumblr media
2002 Monthly Asuka October Issue, Title Page Illustration
You can see Sorata's familiar here, so this is an illustration for the second half of the story. I actually enjoy drawing creatures and inanimate objects more than people. I wanted to do something with the familiar sitting on his hand like a pet. Ohkawa told me to do an illustration with Sorata wearing street clothes. And thats how this image came about. Sorata was drawn using Copic markers, the background was done with a thin layer of modeling paste, and the shadow was drawn with color ink
Tumblr media
1995 October, X Volume 7 Cover illustration Paper: BB Kent Lines: PIGMA Graphic ink pen Color: Acrylic gouache. Dr. Ph. Martin's Color Ink. modeling paste
This is supposed to be an image of Sorata in front of a wall with lots of graffiti and other things drawn on it. But there aren't a lot of variations possible when the theme color is yellow. I always have trouble coming up with items for light backgrounds [laughs].
Tumblr media
1993 November, X2 Music Video, Comic Cover Illustration
Paper: BB Kent
Lines: PIGMA Graphic ink pen
Color: Acrylic gouache. Dr. Ph. Martin's Color Ink, modeling paste. poster color
I wanted this illustration to have the atmosphere of a wall fresco. I used gold poster color to ink in the decorative elements and keywords.
[Ed. Note: Poster color is also known as "poster paint" or "tempera paint."]
Tumblr media
1999 Monthly Asuka October Issue, Title Page Illustration
This piece was drawn mostly with Copic markers. I wanted the bandages, blood and cherry blossoms to really stand out, so I colored the background black, but since Subaru only wears black clothes the illustration became completely black [laughs]. I used different media to color the clothes and background in order to distinguish the textures. The background was done with an airbrush. I created the cherry blossoms using acrylic gouache and then sprayed over that again with the airbrush.
Tumblr media
2000 Monthly Asuka October Issue, Title Page Illustration
A lot of Subaru's illustrations have the same atmosphere, like this one [laughs] I had to include cherry blossoms--well, actually, I didn't have to include them flaughs], but I wanted to put in as many as possible. The composition would've looked slightly crowded if the branches of the cherry blossoms were prominent, so I wanted to make the background as dark as possible. Subaru is still wearing ceremonial clothes, so I thought he'd look good against a black background. I used a sepia tone for the main outlines, and an airbrush for the background to give it a soft touch
Tumblr media
2002 October X TV Anime Volume 9 DVD Box Illustration
From the beginning, I had decided on a black background for this illustration, but I had a hard time trying to get Seishiro to stand out with his black clothes. In desperation. I placed a sliding screen behind him and had the Pick background run behind that. As a result. here's more white in this illustration than black Which is something I regret, As for the round shapes that appear in the DVD box illustrations. in this one I drew the moon on Subaru's side, and in Seishiro..the blade of the sickle isn’t exactly round, but it's meant to represent that shape.
Tumblr media
1996 Monthly Asuka March Issue, Title Page Illustration
Paper: Wood-free paper.
Lines PIGMA Graphic ink pen Color Dr. Ph. Martin's Color Ink, Copic marker
I started using Dr. Ph. Martin's ink and Copic markers together around the time that I drew this. I just wanted to make it as cute as possible, as you can probably tell [laughs]. She's the only character who I can draw really cute illustrations of.
Tumblr media
1996 June, X Volume 8, Cover Illustration Paper: BB Kent Lines: PIGMA Graphic ink pen Color: Dr. Ph. Martin's Color Ink, Copic marker, Colortone
Orange was the color theme for this illustration, so I had her wear orange- hued plastic clothes that I had always wanted to try out. It's just like taking photos for a magazine.
(Ed. Note: Colortone is a type of colored screentone; it's also sometimes called "overlay.”)
Tumblr media
2002 February X TV Anime Volume 1 DVD Box Illustration
This is the illustration for the first volume of the DVD box set. Ohkawa had asked me to do a single piece that would wrap all the way around the box. Plus, the front and back of the box had to feature the characters who played a major role in that DVD volume. I personally wanted to incorporate a round shape as a theme, so I included that in all the illustrations as well. For this volume, that shape is a gear wheel.
Tumblr media
2002 Monthly Asuka May Issue, Calling Card Illustration (Kamui) 2002 May. Movic Calling Card Illustration (Subaru)
The two halves of this illustration were used separately for calling cards offered by Movic and Asuka. If you got hold of both cards and put them together, you'd get the full image. Kamui and Subaru are often depicted together. They almost seem like brothers in a sense, so it's an easy combination to draw. Although they both have black hair, Subaru has a darker, more pure-black hair color. This is the same in both the manga and anime; ever since Tokyo Babylon Subaru has been drawn without any gloss to his hair [laughs]. Another character who has pretty black hair is Arashi.
[Ed. Note: Movic is one of Japan's largest producers of anime-related merchandise.]
Tumblr media
1993 X Calendar Illustration Paper: Arches Lines: Holbein Color Ink (Special Black) Color: Dr. Ph. Martin's Color Ink
I colored Kanoe's stockings using an airbrush to give them a realistic look, but the effect turned out to be far more striking than I expected (laughs]. I like the lecherous atmosphere of this illustration [laughs].
Tumblr media
1997 January. X Volume 9. Cover Illustration Paper: BB Kent Lines: PIGMA Graphic ink pen Color: Acrylic gouache. Dr. Ph. Martin's Color Ink. Lumocolor Liquitex
I used lots of Liquitex for this one since I wanted to give it a shiny look. like the insulation material on wiring. This image is set during the last minutes of adjustments before the Beast was completed.

Rajasthan Desert Tours & Safaris: Unveiling the Mystique of the Thar Desert
Tumblr media
Rajasthan, India's land of royalty, is synonymous with opulent palaces, vibrant culture, and grand forts. But one of its most striking landscapes lies in the vast stretches of the Thar Desert. This arid expanse, also known as the Great Indian Desert, offers an exciting blend of adventure and cultural immersion through Rajasthan Desert Tours and Safaris. These experiences take you deep into the desert's heart, allowing you to explore its golden sand dunes, witness local life, and soak in the raw beauty of the landscape.
Highlights of Rajasthan Desert Tours & Safaris
The Thar Desert is spread across several iconic cities in Rajasthan, including Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Jodhpur. Each of these cities serves as a gateway to unique desert experiences, from camel rides to camping under the stars.
1. Jaisalmer: The Golden City
The most popular destination for desert safaris, Jaisalmer, is often called the "Golden City" due to its yellow sandstone architecture that glows under the desert sun. Located close to the Sam Sand Dunes, Jaisalmer is the ideal starting point for a desert adventure.
Camel Safaris: Camel rides are the quintessential desert experience. Riding a camel through the rolling dunes, you get to witness the vast, barren landscape, punctuated by the occasional scrub bush or desert village. The slow, rhythmic pace of the camel allows you to soak in the tranquility and marvel at the golden hues of the sand as the sun sets.
Jeep Safaris: For those seeking a more exhilarating experience, jeep safaris offer a faster-paced adventure across the dunes. These all-terrain vehicles can navigate deeper into the desert, where you can explore isolated villages, visit ancient temples, and observe wildlife like desert foxes and chinkaras. Jeep safaris also often include a thrilling dune-bashing experience, where the jeeps race across the sand dunes, providing an adrenaline rush.
2. Bikaner: The Desert Jewel
Bikaner is another important city for Rajasthan desert tours. Known for its historical significance and vibrant culture, Bikaner offers a less crowded but equally captivating desert experience.
Camel Safari: The city is famous for its Bikaner Camel Festival, which celebrates the significance of camels in desert life. Bikaner’s desert safaris often take travelers through remote villages, where they can interact with the local communities and witness traditional Rajasthani lifestyles.
Desert Camping: After a day of exploring, desert camping near Bikaner is a highlight for travelers. Camps are set up in the middle of the desert, where you can relax under the stars and enjoy cultural performances featuring local musicians and dancers. The simplicity of desert life, combined with the grandeur of the night sky, creates an unforgettable experience.
3. Jodhpur: The Gateway to the Desert
While Jodhpur is best known for its majestic Mehrangarh Fort, the nearby Osian Desert offers a unique blend of history and desert adventure. Osian is home to several ancient temples, which add a spiritual dimension to your desert safari.
Camel and Jeep Safaris: Similar to Jaisalmer and Bikaner, Jodhpur’s desert safaris offer both camel and jeep rides, allowing travelers to explore the dunes and visit remote villages. The Osian Desert is also known for its serene beauty and is a great place for those looking to escape the more touristy areas.
Desert Camping: A Night Under the Stars
One of the most enchanting aspects of a Rajasthan desert safari is the chance to experience desert camping. After a day of exploring, visitors are treated to an overnight stay in desert camps set amidst the dunes. These camps offer a blend of rustic charm and modern comforts, with traditional Rajasthani tents, comfortable bedding, and bonfire dinners.
Evening entertainment often includes folk music and dance performances, showcasing Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage. The highlight of desert camping is, without a doubt, the night sky. With minimal light pollution, the stars seem to sparkle brighter than ever, providing a magical backdrop to your desert adventure.
Best Time to Visit the Thar Desert
The best time to explore Rajasthan’s Thar Desert is during the winter months, from October to March. During this time, the weather is cool and pleasant, making outdoor activities like safaris and camping comfortable. Summers in Rajasthan can be extremely hot, with temperatures soaring above 45°C, making desert exploration difficult.
Conclusion
Rajasthan Desert Tours & Safaris offer an unforgettable journey through one of India’s most iconic landscapes. From camel and jeep safaris to desert camping, these experiences provide a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and tranquility. Whether you’re watching the sun dip below the horizon, exploring ancient desert villages, or stargazing at night, a trip to the Thar Desert promises memories that will last a lifetime.

A Guide to Choosing the Perfect Wedding Baggi for Your Indian Wedding
Weddings in India are all about grandeur, traditions, and deep-rooted cultural significance. One of the most iconic elements of a traditional Indian wedding is the wedding baggi or horse-drawn carriage. This regal mode of transportation for the groom (also known as the baraat) is a significant part of many North Indian wedding ceremonies, where the groom is paraded in style to the bride’s venue, accompanied by a lively wedding band in Delhi, dancers, and fireworks. The spectacle symbolizes the groom's journey to claim his bride with pomp and joy.
Choosing the right wedding baggi is not just about aesthetics but also about ensuring that it fits into the theme of your wedding while making a statement. Let’s walk through some important considerations that can help you select the perfect wedding baggi for your Indian wedding.
1. Understanding the Significance of the Wedding Baggi
The wedding baggi has traditionally been a mark of status and style. In earlier times, royals and nobles would arrive in a decorated carriage, signifying wealth and power. Today, it’s a symbolic representation of this historical practice, blending the opulence of the past with modern-day wedding traditions.
For grooms, the wedding baggi ride is an unforgettable experience. From the vibrant wedding band in Delhi playing traditional tunes to the baraatis dancing along, the journey sets the tone for the entire celebration.
Tumblr media
2. Choosing the Right Type of Baggi
Wedding baggis come in different styles and designs. The type of baggi you choose will depend on your wedding theme, preferences, and cultural requirements. Here are a few options to consider:
Traditional Carriage Baggi: The classic horse-drawn carriage baggi is ideal for a traditional Indian wedding. These are usually adorned with intricate floral designs, colorful drapes, and ornate details to match the bride and groom’s attire.
Royal Chariot Baggi: If you’re aiming for a royal wedding theme, a regal chariot-style baggi may be the perfect choice. These buggies are designed to look like the grand carriages used by Indian kings and queens in the past.
Modern Baggi with a Twist: For couples looking to blend tradition with modernity, some buggies come with an upgraded, luxurious finish. These carriages are often sleeker and can include comfortable seating and modern decorations.
Ghori with Baggi: For a more traditional baraat experience, you can pair a beautifully dressed horse (ghori) with a smaller carriage or cart for a mix of both styles.
At Sohan Lal & Sons Ghoriwala, founded in 1955, we offer a wide range of premium wedding buggies tailored to match the grandeur of your event. Our services extend beyond just baggis—we provide band troupes, fireworks, musical services, flower chattar, fancy lighting, and more.
3. Customization Options
One of the best aspects of choosing a wedding baggi is the ability to customize it to suit your personal style and wedding theme. This can include:
Flower Decorations: Floral arrangements are a popular way to adorn the baggi. You can choose from traditional marigolds to exotic flowers, depending on your theme.
Fancy Lighting: For evening weddings, incorporating fairy lights and lanterns can add a magical glow to the baggi, enhancing the visual appeal.
Drapes and Cushions: You can also add custom drapes, cushions, and seat covers that match the color palette of your wedding. Many couples opt for rich, royal fabrics like velvet or satin for an elegant touch.
4. Safety and Comfort
While the visual appeal of the wedding baggi is important, it’s equally crucial to ensure that it is safe and comfortable for the groom. Make sure to choose a service that takes safety seriously. Horses should be well-trained, and the carriage should be maintained to prevent any accidents or discomfort during the baraat.
At Sohan Lal & Sons Ghoriwala, we take great care in ensuring that both the horses and the buggies are in prime condition. We have experienced handlers who ensure the smooth and safe operation of the carriage.
5. Coordinating with the Wedding Band
A spectacular wedding band in Delhi often accompanies the wedding baggi, making the baraat a lively, musical affair. The band’s choice of songs, style, and energy can greatly enhance the experience for the guests. Opt for a band that understands your preferences and can create a high-energy atmosphere that gets everyone dancing.
At Sohan Lal & Sons Ghoriwala, we offer musical services that seamlessly complement our baggi services. Our wedding band is renowned for playing everything from traditional wedding tunes to modern Bollywood hits, ensuring that your baraat is a grand affair.
6. Incorporating Cultural Elements
Different cultures have varied traditions when it comes to the wedding baggi and baraat. For example:
In North Indian weddings, the groom often arrives on a ghori (a decorated white horse) or a grand baggi.
In South Indian weddings, the baraat may not be as pronounced, but you can still incorporate a baggi as a royal entrance for the groom or even the bride.
You can also integrate your cultural or religious symbols into the design of the baggi to make it more meaningful and personal.
7. Sustainability Considerations
With the growing awareness of sustainability in weddings, many couples are opting for eco-friendly decorations and transport options. Choosing a wedding baggi that uses minimal, biodegradable decorations like flowers, cloth drapes, and natural materials can reduce the environmental impact.
Additionally, make sure that the welfare of the animals used is a top priority. Well-treated horses and eco-friendly practices will ensure that your wedding doesn’t come at the cost of animal welfare or the environment.
8. Osteonecrosis Treatment in Ayurveda and Panchakarma Treatment for Osteoarthritis
As weddings are a joyous occasion, it is also a time to reflect on well-being. Ayurveda, a centuries-old Indian healing tradition, offers holistic treatments for a variety of health conditions, including Osteonecrosis Treatment in Ayurveda and Panchakarma Treatment for Osteoarthritis. These treatments focus on balancing the body’s natural energies through detoxification, herbal remedies, and therapies.
While planning your wedding, you may also want to incorporate Ayurvedic practices into your pre-wedding routine, such as detox therapies or stress-relieving treatments. Ayurveda can help you and your partner feel rejuvenated and ready for your special day.
Conclusion
Choosing the perfect wedding baggi for your Indian wedding involves balancing tradition, personal style, and comfort. Whether you opt for a royal chariot or a modern carriage with contemporary flair, your wedding baggi is sure to be a showstopper. With the expertise of Sohan Lal & Sons Ghoriwala, established in 1955, you can trust that your wedding day will be made even more memorable with our premium wedding services. The Components of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi Dance Jewelry
1.      Head Jewelry (Talai Saaman):
The head jewelry, known as Talai Saaman, is one of the most intricate and eye-catching parts of a Bharatanatyam or Kuchipudi dancer's ensemble. It typically includes a Nethichutti (forehead ornament), Surya (sun), and Chandra (moon) pieces that symbolize the celestial bodies, reflecting the divine aspect of the dance. The head jewelry is often adorned with stones and pearls, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the dancer's appearance.
2.      Earrings (Jimikki):
The Jimikki or earrings are an essential part of the dance jewelry set. These earrings are usually large and elaborate, designed to complement the dancer's facial features and movements. They often feature intricate designs inspired by traditional temple jewelry, making them a statement piece in the dancer's attire.
3.      Necklaces (Mala and Addigai):
The dancer wears multiple layers of necklaces, each serving a specific purpose. The Addigai is a choker-style necklace that sits close to the neck, while the Mala is a longer necklace that extends down the chest. These necklaces are typically crafted with intricate patterns and studded with stones, symbolizing wealth and prosperity.
4.      Vanki (Armlets):
The Vanki or armlets are worn on the upper arms and are often in the shape of a serpent or floral designs. These armlets add to the regal appearance of the dancer, emphasizing the grace of their arm movements.
5.      Bangles (Valayal):
Bangles, known as Valayal, are worn in abundance on both wrists, creating a rhythmic sound as the dancer moves. They are usually made of metal and are adorned with intricate designs, making them both beautiful and functional.
1.      Odiyanam (Waist Belt):
The Odiyanam or waist belt is a crucial piece of jewelry that holds the costume in place and adds a sense of stability to the dancer's movements. It is often elaborately designed with motifs of gods, goddesses, and other symbols from Hindu mythology.2.      Anklets (Ghungroo):
The anklets or Ghungroo are perhaps the most iconic piece of jewelry in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. These anklets, with small bells attached, create a rhythmic sound that is integral to the dance. The sound of the Ghungroo complements the beats of the music, helping the audience to connect with the dance on a deeper level.
