I've been rewatching Osomatsu-san and have been keeping track of the times the brothers have said each other's names/nicknames because I have always wondered about it so yeah this is very self-indulgent TT_TT but I will be sharing it below.

Note!

1. Included are Seasons 1-3 and The Movie (2019), however I did not include AUs apart from F6 and Girlymatsu, and skipped over recap episodes as well as ending songs and previews

2. I did not include times when their names was said but it wasn't pertaining to them specifically so things like "Osomatsu-kun/-san" as titles or "Karamatsu Girls"

3. I did not count the times where a brother would refer to them as a whole like when Karamatsu would say "brothers" or when Totty says "niisan-tachi" (brothers)

4. The term "niisan"/ "chounan" (older brother) and "suekko" (youngets child) are counted only if they are used as a non descriptor so things like "I'm the eldest", and "Todomatsu, the youngest" do not count. However, they sometimes translate as nicknames based on context so things like "Share with your big bro" and "Come on, little bro" count, I hope this made sense lol

What are some things you like about fukumori? And any hcs about them you would like to share?

what i like most about them is that in the canon universe fukumori will never ever fucking happen. it’s just perpetual yearning until the end of times, which is my preferred flavour of ship. fukuzawa can’t forgive and forget and mori is too duty-bound to expend the resources necessary (his own emotional strength and energy most of all) to convince him otherwise. yet still they are undeniably, intrinsically linked, cursed to long for the other, unable to either pursue their hearts’ cravings or move past them.

even in an everybody lives happy post-canon scenario in which mori fakes his death and moves to buttfuck nowhere an hour out of hokkaido, where he becomes the village doctor and starts a cult in elise’s name, free from his duties as port mafia boss, able to concentrate on doing good in the community and his own happiness for once. where for years to come fukuzawa goes on sporadic “business trips” to visit him (just rarely enough as to not make yosano suspicious or annoy ranpo enough for him to rat him out) until one day he finds mori’s quaint little forest mansion abandoned. the villagers can tell him little more than that his departure was long and meticulously planned, all of his patients distributed to other doctors, the mansion left as a parting gift to fukuzawa, he just has to sign the deed. which he does with a heavy heart, forever regretting that he never asked mori to be his, ashamed that he never came clean to the people who cared about him, too scared to ask for their blessing for a relationship that would have certainly hurt at least one of them, but would have been worth the pain if it meant that they could finally put their decades long tiptoeing around each other to rest and be together in the way they were always meant to. mori similarly will forever be haunted by regret no matter what country he decides to flee to (it has to be one where the official language is derived from latin tho, so he can become known as doctor death which is funny to me and only me), but his regret is steeped deeply in resignation. taking fukuzawa’s reluctance to make the first move for what it is and deciding that he needs to be the one to set them free, knowing that they never truly will be. neither of them pursues a romantic relationship going forward, the holes in their hearts becoming lifelong companions that both of them hold dear.

though my ideal ending for them is one of them dying in the other’s arms, unable to catch the other's declaration of love before they pass out. doesn’t matter which way around, it just has to be bloody and painful and leave the survivor to carry that pain until the day they also die (peacefully in their sleep, leaning against the other’s grave).
