Self Aware-HSR ‘Rules’ and Guidelines in the AU. Part 2.
~~~
Had to drop a second part because my boi @deathcvltcivilofficial thinks they can do better then me. I even didn’t go to school today— I’m so confident this’ll be better!
My part one — HEEEEEEERE
Deathcvltcivilofficial’s part — HEEEERE
Under no circumstances are characters allowed to directly tell the Voidborne arbiter that they know they’re in a game, until they descend.
The only way they’re allowed ‘directly’ communicate with the Omni aeon, is by sending credits, stellar jades, and messages to whoever the Omni aeon is controlling.
Everything the Voidborne arbiter must be taken seriously. Whatever they command, you MUST obey, or be punished by 5,000 Amber eras of torture. —
Newly added—The Voidborne sovereign has stated they say things jokingly. Ask for clarification before committing acts they may have meant in a joking manner.
No touching. You may only gaze upon their grace. Touch without permission is punishable by imprisonment.
You must stand 4 feet away from their grace. You are not permitted to taking their air, nor smelling their divine scent.
If their grace is tired, you WILL DO everything and anything to ensure they gain a perfect relaxing sleep. This is the only way your allowed to place your filthy hands upon their divine body.
If you make their grace uncomfortable in anyway, you will be subjected to eternal suffering and labor. Genius Member Society #83 — HERTA. Will inject you with her de-aging serum to keep you young and continue your divine punishment.
Impersonation of any kind of the Voidborne Arbiter is strictly prohibited! Any Impersonation of any level, that is not signed off by the IPC, is punishable by public torture or eternal suffering.
—If someone wants to make a Self aware hsr story, he’s some things I believe should be included or be considered the base line—
1. Reader shouldn’t gain any powers from the start.
2. The aeons cannot help the reader directly, only being able to lend them power/regift the reader with the perfect mortal organic body at the start.
3. Reader should be apart of the nameless crew (for obvious reasons)
4. Every planet the reader should unlock 2 powers. In penacony, reader should be lead to the throne room that the family made for them and gain some of their past memories, along with Sunday trying to convince/manipulate them into helping his cause.
5. Nanook should be the only aeon that hates the reader, along with enemies like the antimatter legion, the borisin, and the family except for Sunday and Robin.
6. Reader shouldn’t be too serious, or too kindhearted. As they are GOD mad should be balanced. This includes enemies and people who’re blasphemous/against them.
7. Characters should have Yandere tendencies towards reader.
gog i still can't get over minish cap vaati's Everything. He is So Fucking Stupid (affectionate)
Like. This guy's establishing character moment is, in order:
he's introduced as having won an entire tournament to get to touch a magic chest and get a cool sword, which was the prize for said tournament
turns around and does a goddamn evil soliloquy TEN FEET AWAY FROM THE GUARDS who were about to hand him his macguffin on a platter
(like this man fucks up his own horribly planned daylight heist because he cannot keep a lid on the dramatics for FIVE FUCKING MINUTES, IN PUBLIC)
(THE BAR WAS ON THE FLOOR VAATI, FUCKING GANONDORF PLAYS THE PIPE ORGAN FOR HIS OWN BOSS INTRO AND HE STILL KNOWS BETTER THAN THIS SHIT)
proceeds to fight the guards (it is, admittedly, a curbstomp for him, but it still clearly wasn't his plan, because otherwise why bother with the tournament)
gloats evilly
opens chest, unleashing a whole bunch of monsters
exposits out loud about Zelda's powers like a nerd while she is actively charging up her magic powers to kick his ass
RECOGNIZES and IDENTIFIES said magic as the special power carried by the female royal line
completely fails to recognize it as the light force he is currently trying to get his hands on (he spends like 99% of the game not figuring this out.)
petrifies her
(i have no idea if link could have deflected this spell if he had managed to get the right angle with his shield but i like to think somewhere there is a very short and very funny alternate timeline where it happens)
(more importantly: no part of vaati's original presumed plan would have involved doing this. he 100% created this situation for himself by being an dramatic idiot and picking a fight for no good reason.)
looks in the chest
there's no light force
considering his stated goals he might be as confused as you are about the monsters tbh
uhhh
evil laugh
teleports the fuck out
He then proceeds to spend the rest of the game trying to figure out where the light force is and ends up having to wait for Ezlo and Link to figure it out first because he was, as far as I can tell, GENUINELY stuck on this part. He fucking kidnaps and impersonates the King, not for access to Zelda, but to… send guards to go look for the Light Force, presumably because he was either running out of ideas or genuinely thought that would work.
None of the guards even had any idea what he was talking about. He's not even good at impersonating the King. He's already sent like twenty people to the dungeon by the time you get there and it hasn't even been a week. Somehow the game spins this as a cunning plan and clever manipulation or something.
(Meanwhile the guards are just. Poking around in random bushes and shit hoping to find the light force. One of them asks you what you think it might look like.)
Zelda is literally right next to the throne and Vaati does not figure it out until you find an actual honest-to-goodness LORE TABLET spelling out that the Light Force is Stored in the Zelda, at which point he's like "ahahaha you've done my work for me this was definitely my plan all along" and takes over the castle and throws a bunch of monsters at you to stall for time while he figures out how to extract the force from her. Somehow he still doesn't think to actually lock the fucking door.
How is Joan? Is it considered successful or not?
I think it is a success.
Comments on Twitter are vastly positive. You can read some here:
The first episode won over the BBC show airing at the same time.
Tumblr media
The papers and magazine reviews are vastly positive as well, and even the ones that are negative, about the script for example, praise Sophie's acting despite their critics.
The Daily Mail gave it 5 stars:
Collider praises Sophie with these words:
Given that the real Joan Hannington's reputation was the talk of the time, with her even being nicknamed "The Godmother," this series' mission seems to be showing an alternate side to the woman who made headlines. What was she like when not in the middle of a scheme? The TV drama is able to deliver on this by relying on a compelling performance from Turner. The actress, who has played minor roles in projects like the X-Men franchise and Netflix's Do Revenge, successfully explores multiple facets of her character in this series. Turner captures Joan's vulnerability when it comes to proving herself to social services, her motherly instincts whenever she is granted the right to visit her daughter, and her cleverness when it comes to pulling off high-risk heists.
Turner's level of dedication to the part shines throughout the entire plot of Joan, showing that she is more than capable of embracing any genre, from an action-packed Marvel production to a noir drama like this. If it weren't for the emotions she conveys onscreen beyond her lines, Joan wouldn't successfully have showcased its lead's underlying motivation of fulfilling her dream of being in a picture-perfect family. Although her actions consequently draw her away from her goal, we can believe that Joan becomes immersed in the crime world for a deeper reason.
[...] Yet, the production does function as a testament of Turner's ability to take on meaty lead roles, and the character's stunning wardrobe will surely make you wish you could steal it.
~~~
The Times gave it 4 stars:
Turner’s main achievement in this role is making the multilayered Hannington real, human and believable, not just a one-note “rough diamond with a heart”. Turner is famous for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, but this performance is surely a career-best.
You could absolutely believe that Joan was a loving mother of a little girl and quite a hard-faced criminal. You could believe she was a woman used and abused by men, but also willing to make victims of others (wealthy “others”). That she was poor and vulnerable, but also had rhino-hide resilience.
[...] But Turner steals every scene with a magnetic performance, such as when the pervy jewellery shop manager tried it on with her and she cleverly swerved him by pretending she had “the painters in’’, or when she swallowed loose diamonds on impulse and she later retrieved them in the bathroom with the help of, er, a sieve. Let’s not dwell too long on the mechanics of that.
~~~
More from the Sunday Times:
Tumblr media
~~~
More praise to Sophie:
As for Turner, I could watch her forever. In part, it’s her face: the cheekbones that make you think of bone-handled knives. Whether from Etam or Harrods, the clobber suits her. And boy, she can act. Hannington was a notorious shape-shifter – a brilliant impersonator – and Turner has a way with voices, layering poshness on top of light cockney just thinly enough for the audience to feel nervous, jeopardy trailing her character like Dior Poison.
She looks to me like she’s having the time of her life, and who can blame her? What a jewel of a role: a diamond as big as the Ritz.
~~~
From The Guardian:
Sophie Turner is spectacular as notorious real-life jewel thief Joan Hannington in this slick 80s-set drama. The six-parter starts with devoted mother Joan reluctantly giving her daughter up to social services after underworld bosses come for her abusive husband. Determined to get her kid back, she uses her glamour, charm and sharp mind to build a new life – starting with taking a job in a jeweller’s that specialises in diamonds.
From Radio Times, read the last part about Sophie:
now that everyone over on TikTok is finally bashing J. K. Rowling for her atrocious world building, finally realizing that Harry Potter was never that good™ (coming from an ex-Harry Potter fan), I wanna address one of the dumbest storytelling decisions ever.
so in Harry Potter we've got this thing where, towards the second half, we discover that the Ministry of Magic is a broken, obsolete system that has been corrupt for years, right? not only they are generally terrible (given that they have literal death-eaters hired), but they've specifically targeted Harry personally thorough the whole story. right? we agree? we agree.
so In Harry Potter there's also this going bit where the teachers of Defence Against the Dark Arts never get through one year of teaching, right? they end up dead, or fired due to loosing their memory/being a werewolf/being A WHOLE OTHER WEIRDO IMPERSONATING THE ACTUAL TEACHER (you know, things that usually happen) but we know they never last. we agree, right? we agree.
so, and I am talking about this as someone who merely enjoys reading: are you telling me, SERIOUSLY, that the MAIN CHARACTER who's perpetually linked to the profession of DATDA teacher, who's beaten the apparently most dangerous, dark and evil wizard TWICE, who can quite easily cast one of the most powerful spells to repel dark magic and COULD TEACH other people to do it… CHOSE TO BE A MAGIC COP??????
it wrote itself, J.K., IT WROTE ITSELF! in terms of storytelling, it was literally spelled out loud: NO ONE CAN DO THE JOB, WHO'S GOING TO DO, IT IF NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER WHO HAS REPEATEDLY SHOWED BEING THE MOST CAPACITATED PERSON TO DO IT?
i get that there's this whole thing about subverting expectations and yadadada, but seriously it's like writers were not taking their job seriously, imagine if in Game of Thrones it was Arya who killed the Night King… oh.
Welcome | Master Post
Tumblr media
Welcome to the ask blog of Haku Kusanagi. Don't worry. I kept your throne nice and safe, princess.
Ask Box Status: Open
Note: I try to be very thorough and really research my responses, so replies may be slow. In addition, if I believe you may have more than one ask. I will likely do one, then come back to it after answering a few for other users, so it stays fair <3
Tumblr media
Rules:
NSFW CONTENT IS POSSIBLE AND ALLOWED. MINORS DNI WITH MARKED POSTS.
You can ask almost everything, but I reserve the right to refuse an ask if it makes me uncomfortable. That topic will then be added to the rules when found.
Mun is musically trained and can read sheet music! Music questions are allowed.
Some questions may teeter upon headcanon territory. Theories are welcome, but I'll be throwing clues as to what Haku theories are being used. Like a little game.
If you have an ask blog or oc, you can set up an emoji with me so I know who you are without having to reveal your blog. Please do not use someone else's emojis and impersonate them.
This blog functions as multiship and welcomes oc x Canon shipping. Though, if your character has not been interacted with before, or I do not have enough knowledge of them to go off of, we'll assume acquaintances.
Please feel free to ask him anything, no matter how silly! However. If you wish for a full post, please send it to the ask box. Comment questions will be responded to with comments. <3
Rules are subject to change.
Blog ran by a silly user. It's a secret. ;)
Let's see how long until y'all figure it out.
They/Them works just fine, any names work. <3
Any messages from the Mun?
《Hey folks! It's me. I'll be a weeeeee bit slow at first as I go through these first few posts. We got a lot of asks in one short burst, so, I'm setting them up to queue, so I don't flood the important tags. <3 I have officially seen all the asks in the box, and only have a tiny few left to answer. The rest are on the queue, waiting to go out. Also, feel free to ask Haku anything!! I'm happy to see requests of all kinds. <3》
Update, November 5th:
《Hi folks! So, class is wiping the floor with me. Unfortunately, like Haku, I do way more than a regular student probably should. What do you mean, it's okay to say no to things? I am steadily working through the asks in my inbox, as well as the drafts I've been sitting on for ages. I tend to at least try to research everything I can before answering for the sake of accuracy, but, I will admit, it might take a while to catch back up. My Google calendar looks like an absolute nightmare. Worst comes to worst, Thanksgiving break is soon, and our finals are on the week of December 6th, whenever that falls. Thank yall so much for sticking it out with me!》
See you soon!
game of thrones is pro sex abuse
Never forget the sins of G. R. R. Martin's writing.
Martin wrote a novel series with many instances of rape towards children. He wrote a series wherein the longest running relationship with the most depth is an incestuous pairing.
Martin, across his books, has written more than 210 rape scenes, leaving around 110 rape survivors. All of these are women.
Martin thinks that sexual violence against women and children is entertainment, "realistic", and intriguing. He confines most of his female characters in some way, giving them less interesting things to do, while his male characters fight and tackle the world head on. Next to his male characters, his female characters have no agency.
He doesn't portray the rapists as evil or cast their actions in anything other than a completely impersonal and neutral light. Not a single rapist sees consequences specifically for their rape. If they die, it is for an unrelated reason, with the rape never brought up again.
I am a published author. I can tell you that writing is not random, it is based on the writer's experiences, philosophical thoughts, their ideals and personal sense of justice. It is a reflection of how we see the world, sometimes it is a reflection of how we wish the world was. There is also a fair amount of sexual fantasy in works that include that element. The things in our novels personally relate to us. We fixate on these ideas we eventually write down for years.
This shows that Martin sees the world this way. His sense of justice is no justice. He fixates on violence towards women. He thinks that rape is a form of plot intrigue. He thinks incest is normal as he never portrays any kind of trauma or negative effect from the pairing and treats it like a regular relationship. The women in his novels do not have anywhere near the same agency as men. Martin thinks that the rape of underage characters is "realistic".
Martin's own stated defense of his toxic writing boils down to his sense of realism. He says this amount of rape is realistic.
You know, realistic like all the dragons and ice zombies he wrote into his novels. Since he's so consistently dedicated to realism, you know.
I think he does really believe that though, that gratuitous violence towards women is realistic. That women are helpless and do less interesting/meaningful things than their male counterparts.
Its hard to explain to non-artist people who knew I once wanted to be a cartoonist/animator that I just don't anymore.
Like the complexity of explaining how little society values animation as a medium, explaining how art is 'content' not art, explaining that engagement is transactional and impersonal, explaining how even if you make it big and get noticed and get your show to be picked up and greenlit, and all your dreams come true, all it takes is an executive going 'lets make Game of Thrones 2' and cutting out your hopes and dreams and all the hard work of your colleagues into nothingness and you don't even get to take the characters you lovingly crafted with you in the end. The company that owns them and will never let them see the light of day, will sue you if you do.
It just doesnt feel worth it anymore. Not like it used to be. As much as I want my ideas to be shared and inspire people, the inherent risk and inevitable entropy of animation nowadays feels like too much to bear.
*Content/Tags: Needle and Chain, Referenced Self-Harm, Angst, Gender or Sex Swap, Alternate Universe- Gender Changes, Character Study, WLW Romance, Hurt No Comfort
*Status: Sequel to 'Not What I Needed'/Complete
Author's Note: A little on the shorter side but I've missed this ship a lot and this idea's been stewing in my head since the first time I watched Saw 3. So enjoy!
Laura glanced at the analog clock on the corner of her desk. Tonight was the night. Two concurrent games were going on as she sat at the hospital in an uneasy quiet and tapped the edge of her desk with a pen. It was Amanda’s first real game without John having a hand, guiding his apprentice like he had during the nerve gas house.
Laura just had to be patient with the results. In a fell swoop, one of her most hated co-workers would die and the woman she loved would be the grand successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. It was Amanda’s dream come true. To have John’s attention and acknowledgment. Laura didn’t care to be the successor of John’s. She would go to the ends of heaven and hell to serve Amanda as she saw fit. She could see Amanda in her head on her metaphorical throne, and Laura waiting on her hand and feet.
She pushed her chair away from her desk and got up to go for a walk around the hospital. She needed to get her mind off this game. She grabbed her cane and did a lap around her department as a warm-up to the walk down to her car. The digital clock in the car read it’d been thirty minutes since the game had started. A quarter of the way done… She shouldn’t be anxious about this. Amanda had assured her that she had thought of every angle, considered every twist that John would have predicted. She turned the keys in the ignition and booked it to her apartment. Since having been divorced from Allison, Laura lived alone in a small place. It felt impersonal, more of a space to sleep than it was a home. She didn’t turn the TV on when she crossed the threshold of the dwelling. She sat in the moonlight trickling in through the windows on a couch that could fit a family if she just hadn’t made one too many mistakes. Her head bobbed as her eyes threatened to shut for the night. She shook her head once more and used the end of her mobility aid to pull her work bag towards her, rummaging through to find some paper work she needed to fill out a treatment plan. Her hand rubbed up against a piece of crumpled paper and pulled it out of the bag.
‘My dear Amanda…’ Clearly John’s handwriting. Laura’s eyes skimmed the document quickly before getting up as fast as she could and back into her car. She punched the gas pedal and drove towards the workshop where she had kissed Amanda for the first time. She ran a red light, nearly hitting someone but narrowly managed to avoid it as the thoughts of her love consumed her. Still burning with rage, she parked her car and busted the door in on her way down the stairs. Some loud trap went off as she entered, using the sound to cover her as she crept through the warehouse. As she entered the open floor, she saw Mark standing at the door. Her breath hitched in the back of her throat as she approached him. She’d never win in a fair fight against the other apprentice, but she felt the adrenaline slowly start to course through her veins. At the very least she could get a bite into his jugular before she got thrown across the room. She put a hand on Mark’s shoulder before letting a breath escape between gritted teeth,
“Move.”
Without missing a beat he replied, “You know what’s behind there. You don’t need to see it.” If Laura were stupid, she’d think his words came from a place of concern.
“I said, move.” She repeated herself
“Laura. It’s not going to give you the closure you think it will…”
“I don’t fucking care.” Rather than keep an even voice her screams rang out across the empty warehouse. Mark finally turned around to face her and let his hand slip off the handle of the door. He didn’t move but Laura rustled the handle behind him, getting the door to open behind him.
“You have fifteen minutes.” Mark finally said. “Cops are going to storm this place looking for either survivors or victims. I would move fast if I were you.”
She rushed into the dark room and felt something soak through the seams in her shoes. It had to be blood. She fumbled with the light switch and saw the carnage before her. She ignored the body of her former coworker and her husband. Ignored the man from which she took orders from for a year now and dropped her cane, running towards the crumpled mess of flesh on the floor that was once Amanda Young. She held the other woman close to her chest. Her first instinct as a doctor was to feel for a pulse even though she knew it was in vain. She ripped off a piece of her shirt and shoved it into the wound. It would do nothing for Amanda but she didn’t want to see her love covered in so much blood. Her hands started to shake as she swept the pieces of Amanda’s hair that had stuck to her face from sweat and her tears fell onto the ever growing cold skin.
“What happened?” She asked the silent air, “You told me it was going to be fine… you promised. You placed all your faith in John… Mark!” She called out for the other apprentice, hoping he might have an answer. Her cries went unanswered for the man and she pilfered through the pockets in Amanda’s jeans. Nothing. Nothing. Paper… She carefully set Amanda’s corpse back down onto the floor and unfurled the folded note.
‘Amanda. You were with Cecil…’ She skimmed the note with haste that she had read John’s note. It was Mark’s block writing. ‘… I will tell John what you did.’
“You.” The letter trembled in her hand as she got to her feet and spun to face the deceased Jigsaw Killer. “This is your fault.” He couldn’t respond to her. Smile in a twisted satisfaction as she wailed for the woman she couldn’t have. Taunt her with the fact that they both knew Amanda would always be out of Laura’s reach. “You pushed Amanda. You always pushed her too far! You sent me to scold her for you when she was hurting herself because she thought she couldn’t live up to your expectations! She never stood a chance, did she you sick son of a bitch?!”
She reached out in anger for the first glass object her hands could reach. She launched it at John’s head, just narrowly missing her former mentor. She didn’t know if she had it in him to desecrate him after all she had put him through when they were just patient and doctor. As much as she felt disgust, anger, disdain even for the man she knew that he had felt that tenfold for her. She took another beaker that laid on the counter and crushed it in the grasp of her hand, gritting her teeth as the shards dug into her skin. It drew a deep crimson wash from her skin and mingled with Amanda’s blood on the concrete of the floor.
“It’s not fair. Why do you always take them away from me?! First it was Eve…” She bit down on her lip as she remembered the woman in the bathroom across from her. She was younger than Laura was when she had gotten into med school and she had barely begun to live. Amanda wasn’t much older, but had gotten even less out of life. “Now. Her…” Her eyes darted back to the other woman who was the object of her affection for another blink in the stream of time. She sat back down next to Amanda and wove their fingers together. Laura held her head up against her chest. She was ice cold, her brain had probably shut down while Laura screamed at John.
“I’m so sorry Amanda…” She whispered to herself, “I should have been here for you. I…” She shook her head and with an aching in her chest left her lover’s body at the scene. She didn’t have the strength to carry Amanda in her condition to get her out of the crime scene. Somewhere she could respectfully say goodbye to her fellow apprentice. She reached across the floor and grabbed her cane to get herself back up. In one last outburst of rage against the whole game, she swung the wooden thing into the center of Lynn’s husband as if he were a pinata. Fresh blood came spurting out from his mouth as the impact of the cane definitely snapped a rib in chest. She hit him once more for good measure and looked over at Lynn. “You thought you were better than me. Now look at where you and your useless husband are. You stupid bitch.”
She walked out of the door and sealed it behind her, pressing her head against the unfeeling metal and shut her eyes. She didn’t want to abandon Amanda but she had no choice this time. She ran from the house of horrors and got to her car, driving home as fast as the vehicle would take her. When she got back to her apartment she cried for a bit. As if on cue, she heard the sound of heels in the hallway walking past her door. They stop directly in front of her and a piece of paper slides under the door. The footsteps resumed and grew more distant. When she heard the shoes no longer she approached the door, sliding the paper towards her using her cane. She leaned down and picked it up.
‘Hello Doctor Gordon,
As you by now know, Amanda’s game was rigged. It was Mark who rigged her game, replacing the letter intended for her with his own. John fed Hoffman information in order to trigger Amanda and make her fail her test. This is never the outcome I wanted for her, even with the knowledge of what she did to Gideon. I cared about her recovery and who she would become after she was clean even though I seem distant from her up until now. I give you this information in hopes that it should help ease whatever guilt you may have over what John has planned to come next. Act as John would, and you will be the successor he always intended.
-Jill’
“Mark…” Laura shredded the paper in her hands, “Your days are numbered. If you ever cross me again, you’ll be begging for death.”
She would succeed where her love had failed. Death creating something new with a grotesque and twisted purpose. She would carry on the name, Jigsaw for the both of them.
When Socrates and Plato said that ignorance is the root of all evil, this was hinted at the ignorance towards or subjective devaluation of subjective blind spots' causal effects upon average life force.
Most mass insanities and individual insanities tend to be a result of lack of introspective knowledge and awareness: in general, most people would strive to act in more moral ways if they would know how to and, most importantly, if they would more habitually deploy serious self-doubt as everyone and every group tends to subjectively believe to be go(o)d🤥😷😇.
In essence most of what we describe as evil originates from a lack of self-doubt and thus lack of reasonable decision-making, doesn't it?
The trouble of each time is that these "know how to" are similar like the by fanhood biases as "hero" storytelled villain Daenerys Targaryen bent by in-group standards, narratives and in-group reinforcement which we construct our own minds with and thus tend to be incapable of looking behind it with more balanced views without drifting into blind negative nationalism as described by George Orwell.
If a population is and decision-makers are filled with more (communicated, debated, exchanged, publicly discussed) self-doubt about its own narratives then it in general makes more wise and fair decisions because there has never been and will never be a "perfect" or "good" social narrative of any type:
it is only considered as such within the familiarity entrainment of the minds carrying it,
but in often by its shared unfamiliarity partly disguised and devaluated objective causal realities' relation to our shared life force it always creates some blind spots.
As more sure one is about any narrative or group-identity as more unseen and dangerous these shared blind spots become as seen via Holocaust, war-crimes, almost all historic happenings
or C-19 vaccine side-effects as focal lense systematic causal effects of current bra(i)nde(a)d perceptions of big food and big pharma and agriculture
which all our worldwide disputes national identities and other fantasy elements tend to distract ourselves from.
Many Chinese, Russian, western, South American and worldwide population are familiar with series like Game of Thrones:
by explaining our globally shared insanity via metaphors of the to large parts of population known entertainment show characters we in such impersonal realm of international metaphors can collectively understand, compromise and cooperate to introspect and counteract these socio-psychological pattern that not just exploited average population in fictional Westeros but in the real world right now.
Statistically we avoid possibili-tease of all types of insanities by heaving such insanities into our conscious awareness via entertainment industries:
as more emotionally moving movies we make about these topics as more unlikely they become to actually happen because then already a large part of the population has at least unconsciously pondered about and via fantasy of movies "experienced" the downsides of the consequences of such actions and thus is incentivised to consider and prevent these and act more maturely.
In this sense the brutality of typical american blockbuster can serve an important function if we discuss the insanities and psychological dynamics of such movies: who would ever really want to wake up in such a world? Only those who have never watched its horrors. The brutality of movies helps us to remind ourselves about these.
One might argue that if there in culture of all conflicting parties had been popular and critical war movies of the wars before WW1 before the two world wars broke out then it might never have happened as sooner or later people would have tried to avoid it at all costs, collectively.
The next step of our conscious evolution is about for us to drift away from the "superhero" movie nonsense towards authentic stories highlighting how characters of average population and decision-makers handle and introspect of all possible worst-case scenarios:
All mistakes and "lessons" we collectively make with our culture and storytellings like I do here on this account regarding bra(i)nde(a)d perceptions we thus do not need to continue to make in actual reality to grow out and evolve out of it.
We as collective mind undergo stages of conceptual and behavioural development:
In the past social evolution was constrained by the drives of actual happenings
(as example, without the two world wars the majority would likely would still cheer for overt colonialism, "positively". We only stopped behaving in these insane ways after we experienced and memorised the previous devalued and neglected downsides of such group-behaviours)
whilst nowadays we can exaggerate and storytell aspects of actual happenings in ways that help us to evolve out of certain types of group behaviours by innovating our social organisation and checks and balances and public introspective communications before our insanely "normal" group-behaviours become exaggerated in actual reality.
For this to function geopolitically we as western civilisation need to also welcome, integrate and actively promote the entertainment industries and cultural stories and "opposing" but similarly valid perspectives of historical lessons
(who gets to decide the "narrative" of anything? Objective reality has no narratives or stories, just complex causation which we can measure as neutral ground explorable via thesis, antithesis and synthesis)
of other cultures like Russia and China to find overlapping aspects
to via goofy irony draw metaphorical parallels to our own misbehaviours of our western culture
instead of us only via our own vain western entertainment colonising the globe as if we would be the measure of reality which we surely are not similar like surely not any other culture.
This will be the task of Anthropology and the global universities' departments of sociology and psychology: with the new interconnected medial networks we need culturally engaging metaphors that playfully tease everyone around the globe to introspect about upon global harmonic coexistence focused morality in all sorts of situations regarding all sorts of possible worst case scenarios which we collectively can only avoid if we are conscious about their possibili-tease as clearly shown via C-19 side-effects:
it does not matter if you consider such "negative" scenarios or not, objective reality and its causation has existed before you
and anyones "confidently" conceited in-group stories' economic and cultural capital matrix that lacks proactive self-doubts
and will exist after you passed away, but many seemingly will never consider such insights and instead (and this is the root for almost all mass insanities in all of history) block out any opportunity for vulnerability, public introspection and social intimacy of via self-doubt driven reality testing and proactive problem-solving.
Humanity has to adapt and walk away from authority figures that behave these ways: the corona pandemic was a worldwide documentation and filtration of this where we have to evolve from past methods of punishment towards methods of shifting rewards:
simply incentivise each other to take less serious any decision-maker or "intellectuals"
and do not work for entrepreneurs and buy less from bra(i)nde(a)d companies
who while having the means to do otherwise repeatedly over extended periods of only time "positively" like a bunch of laughing killer clowns do not PROACTIVELY out of OWN MOTIVATION frequently consider, look at, initiate to discuss, publicly display and act with self-doubts towards any possible blind-spots of their actions and motivations' and mind constructs' interplay with causal effects relation to our global life force.
It is that simple, in the past we just never had the technologies to collectively document and use such insights.
The ideal society that would display not just the most justice but also the highest effectivity in problem-solving
is one where the average population and their decision-makers are enjoying to be full of "insecurities" and constant self-doubts
not destructive "confidence" or "goodness" as the latter attitude sooner or later inevitably detaches from reality testing for which every individual and especially every group-mind needs self-doubts because, obviously, no subjective mind is objective reality, our minds are just dreams and fantasy trying to navigate it while we tend to act like ("being vain") as if it would be the other way around: do you remember the medieval believe that everything in the universe would circle around not just our earth
but also around the "morals" of the church that judged it as more "evil" to curse on the name of the story of a god
(like metaphorically talking "bad" about the causal insanity of our modern day religion of bra(i)nde(a)d perceptions' fantasies)
than murdering someone (like metaphorically the by that disguised life-aversive causal effects of C-19 vaccine)?
Read the order of 10 commandments and ask yourself if that is the way how you would prioritise things.
We as society in general haven't really much evolved past that attitude of our conceited subjective ignorance (that we subjectively via our motivations infatuate ourselves in like 🔍"brand love") being centre of the universe, metaphorically:
Just look around and ask yourself how many of us do ever proactively out of own motivation without social rewards question themselves and their motivations' "positivity" to strive to gain more objective insights that one then bends ones own mind towards instead of bending insights towards ones own mind?
Watch sci-fi movies and how people 100 years ago dreamt about how our time could be:
did they envision a zombie crowd drowning in actually quite easily solvable life-aversive causal effects while cheerfully being distracted by peer-pressured obsessions with reputation managed bra(i)nde(a)d stories and brand names while watching stuff like Gary Vee content that like a psychotic mad priest hypes cult followers towards believing that the for himself profitable elitarian NFTs (which only a small percentage of the worlds elites can afford to use) would be "the biggest innovation since the fire" and "more significant than the printing press"?
Not kidding, that is a quote, and it is not a single incident nor misunderstood nor taken out of context nor an isolated insane person: statistically, it is a quite common attitude of not just our society but almost every society that has ever existed, which is also encapsuled by movies like Game of Thrones that obsesses so much with fantasies of power and medieval celebritism without really caring about enhancing the common life of the people they "rule" over via not much but manipulation, force, entitlement and fantasies that themselves loose any worth if they detach from causalities' relation to median life force which is why European medieval etymology of the word "mean"
[it relates to and means median (of a society or group), being mean (aversive boundary-setting opposed to the evil of hypocritical "go(o)d" fantasies), being common, average, meaning-making (purpose), balance of the incentivising direction of collective means (ressources) of a society, care, related to justice ... 🎶what do you mean Justin Bieber]
has evolved such matching double-entendre meanings.
Look at all the technologies we have and what we actually could do with it to enhance all our global average quality of life.
On which planet do such ALIENating motivators (and their obviously insane audiences) live where we "positively" distract ourselves and our motivated DIRECTION of social incentives from solving the to quality of life of average population mattering objective causal stuff that should but for some reason seemingly is not more important than our bra(i)nde(a)d symbolic references' reductionism of it in our by such fantasies (metaphorical UFOs: unidentified👽 flying🎈 objects🎅) obsessed minds that we assign our thereby due by it bent social reward steams🐟🐟🐟 psychotically reputation managing🎭 identities to?
Just observe the change of social attitude in the last scenes of movie Game of Thrones once Daenerys and the other power-hungry people weren't there anymore and the calm wheelchair dude Bran who has no interest in ruling was forced to become a rather symbolic "king" with more calmness and introspection while a larger and rather tempered and due brutality of past happenings wisened team started to do the "ruling" in more cooperative ways. That change happened within a few hours / days in that fictionary story just as it happened multiple times during real history: it was just a change of mind and attitude (📚open Johan Norberg), an out of past traumatising events of power-abuse motivated cultural "software-fix" of what people desire and aspire to. It could have happened earlier if people wanted to. It could have never happened at all. But that stark contrast between click-bait insanity and "boring" sanity and how that relates to average peoples' wellbeing is crucial to the message of that cultural metaphor this movie is and, most importantly, can be internationally.
Dungeon Master Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You get Somehow Isekaid with your player party of 3 to a game you also love playing Genshin Impact.
GN!reader, semi imposter AU, also Semi Self Aware AU.
Part 1 > Part 2
No one read the tags
____________________________________________
When suddenly someone who bares a resemblance to a familiar character ran up to you. “HALT IMPOSTERS, YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR IMPERSONATING THE GLORIOUS ONES” You all looked at each other. “Man that’s Bullshit” Angel said, that’s the 1st time she cursed in person.
"Psst Psst" Angel kept whispering to you. You look at her with a face that says 'What?'. She goes and whispers "What if sneak us away from here" her binder starts glowing. You pull out a d20 dice from your pocket which you always conveniently had from last session before you got Isekaid. "Roll for Stealth, you need a 10 or higher" you whisper back. She rolled it discreetly in her palm. "A nine with my modifier of 1 makes a 10" she looks at you with hope in her eyes. Your binder and hers glowed green.
Both of you see a distressed soldier looking worried. You grabbed the boys attention and you all huddled closer just enough so it doesn't look suspicious but all of you can hear your whisper. "The guards that are cornering us are distracted. Angel what do you do" everyone looked at her with anticipation she was going in her Tippy toes looking for an land mark. "I...uh....lead you to a waypoint east of where we are" Angel looked towards the small blue glow behind a tree it was a waypoint indeed where there was a abandoned camp.
Eyes are on you now "Ok you do that....." Angel starts leading the way. When Ben stepped on a branch "—bitch the sound of the snapping branch is covered by the sound of nature around" you all turn back to look at the guards and start watching if they notice. Once you were far enough, you all ran to the waypoint. Tired. Is what you felt but omg did it feel nice being free again.
"What do we do now?" Jake asks. "Well...We let the Binder decide i guess" you open it up to the page of the story. Alot of scratched out parts of the story you could make out some of them. "Reach the temple—" "—Blood" "—Weirded out"
"So do we try to find this temple thingy" Ben said. "If we wanted to go to the temple thing we would've just stayed put" Angel said. But you chimed to say "What if we reach the temple figure out what's happening then end this? Sounds good?" Hesistently they agree. And that was a stupid idea. A Cleric, A Wizard, A warlock, and And a sorcerer. This was not the best idea.
Somehow all of you snuck inside, safely, without alerting anyone. Gigantic stained glass of a group of 4, one up in the sky, one in the land, one in the water, and one in the stars. Silently walking through you made eye contact with a painting of someone holding a floating prism, weird. It felt familiar. Further inspecting the area you found 4 podiums and other paintings that also felt familiar.
Walking around more you found what looks to be a "throne" room but what makes this different is because the 4 thrones are sorrounding a fairly large table. "Like a DND table, Cool!" Ben said running his fingers through the engravings.
When you guys suddenly heard marching "Bro What do we do now?" Jake nudged you to get your attention. You hold out your binder, "We fight in DND Style"
As a army walked in with an entorouge of vision holders and the gaurds you have escaped from chained, and People who looked like you? Walked in!"
"What the fu—" You were stunned when the person who looked like you spoke "So this is where you filthy imposters went!" You well the other version of you snarled.
"First of all Rude, Second thing, Let's settle this." You opened your binder started glowing as well as you dice. A maniacal grin was on their face. They had their staff out.
"Alright Dear Dungeon Master, your cue" Angel handed you her and the others character sheets. You looked back at them and reversed to get behind them. "As the final battle will the true identity be revealed, who is the one truly worth of the throne? Roll for initiative!"
Your clones and the other people were strugglingg cause they couldn't move as you guys threw your dices up, "12!" 10!" 7!" "14!"
"Jake you're up!" "Permission to use fireball on my clone?" "You're gonna need a 15 to pass!" He immediately starts rolling "5! With a modifier of 2"
Needless to say he was upset about it he missed. It was your turn next when you saw a peice of paper slip. Your homebrew mimic, a mutated version of the original mimics, but they gained the ability to mimic humans but not the original human's personality.
"Guys! Don't rely on your sheild! They're My home brew mimics!"
"YOUR WHAT!?"
I love how your tag for GW Claude acting funky is "claude got bodyswapped by an agarthan" lmaooo IT ALL LINES UP, FINALLY
okay but legit, claude being bodyswapped is terrifying?? like even aside from the mess in Fodlan, he's still the favorite son of the king of Almyra, so just IMAGINE one of the Twisted getting their hands on that throne....eugh
LOOK EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE IF WE ASSUME THAT THE CHARACTER IN THREE HOPES IS ACTUALLY AN AGARTHAN WITH CLAUDE'S FACE I say as I stand in front of my corkboard running on two hours of sleep and several gallons of tea
Tumblr media
BUT NO IT REALLY IS A TERRIFYING THOUGHT because Claude holds an incredibly high rank: they might have had an agent high in the Kingdom court and Edelgard under her thumb, but replacing the head of the Alliance round table puts them in an unprecedented position of power. I haven't played the game yet, so I'm not sure when he starts acting out of sorts, but it's entirely possible he got swapped before restructuring the Alliance government to make himself king -- but even if he didn't, that just gives them more power to abuse (and abuse it they clearly do, given the whole Kingdom Invasion. Even assuming that the Agarthans don't have a way of accessing the memories of the people who they're impersonating and need to extract that information by either coercion or force, and assuming that Claude wouldn't give them anything to work with (so no inkling of his Almyran connections whatsoever, no insight into his deeper goals and ambitions, probably going so far as to actively mislead them about his usual demeanor and work ethic), it doesn't matter once they've secured that level of power and influence in the Alliance.
If they do find out details about the Almyra connection, though...having them expand their foothold across the Locket, using the king's favor for his son to entrench themselves? That's some majorly bad news. Here's hoping that they, at least, might realize that something is wrong with him if an Agarthan wearing Claude's face tries to insert himself back in their midst.
A Twitter User Watches Supernatural
Okay, some background first…
I am a Twitter user, a former Twitter user. And have decided in order to fit in here I need to get into the mindset of a Tumblr user. Now I figure the best way to do this is to watch hit CW show Supernatural, and post about it here. I’ll be giving my recap and review as an Ex-Twitter user and hopefully by the end I will understand what Tumblr is all about. My partner is an avid Tumblr user and Supernatural fan, so they will be fielding any questions I have along my pilgrimage. So here we go…
Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot
Recap
Okay so the show starts with baby Sam and baby Dean, living the American Dream with their parents. Their mom (who’s name I have forgotten) is awoken in the middle of the night by Sam’s crying, a theme I have to imagine is persistent throughout the show. She sees a man at Sam’s crib who she thinks is Daddy Winchester. I have been told it was not Castiel and Castiel doesn’t show up until much later. She eventually realizes this guy wasn’t the dad and she gets got.
Tumblr media
We get a nice little time jump and get to see Sam Winchester (played by Jared Padlock, and who is not to be confused with his character in Gilmore Girls, who is named Dean) is living the life. Dean breaks into his house, makes it known he loves Smurfs, and invites Sam on a cross country road trip to find their missing Dad. We cut to the thing that Papa Winchester was chasing and *gasp* it’s a lady. A lady that kills people! Sam and Dean impersonate some Federal Agents which is probably half a dozen different crimes; it was at this point I realized this show was incredibly queer-coded and that Castiel was probably introduced to make a dynamic less like Game of Thrones-like. The Winchester Brothers eventually find out that there was a lady that jumped off a bridge near where all these disappearances are happening and it turns out the ladies children drown in the tub. Dean’s many crimes finally catch up to him and he is arrested but Sam, The Lamer of the Winchester Brothers, is able to go make an old man cry over the death of his wife and children. Dean is able to escape prison and multiple felony charges with his quick wit and charm. The brothers meet up on the bridge where they see the ghost of the dead lady. It seduces Sam, for whatever reason… Dean was right there. Dean tries to shoot this ghost multiple different times, and eventually Sam forces the mom to go back to her home, where her ghost children take her to super mega hell I guess. Sam goes home only for the same thing that happened to his mom to happen to his girlfriend! I can hear Sigmund Freud writing about that one. Thankfully Dean is able to save the day with his charm and smirk and he then convinces Sam to hunt some more bad guys with him.
Review
This was a pretty good first episode, aside from the whole thing being filmed like the trailer for a 2005 horror movie. I’m definitely Team Dean, Sam is like that guy you invite to a party and then he sits in a corner and broods until you ask him what’s wrong and then he tries to read you his poetry. Their dad seems fine, I hope he’s not abusive or something.
"Ria Silmane was a powerful enchantress, one of the Elders of the Imperial Council, and a worthy successor to the Imperial Battlemage when Jagar Tharn elected to retire. She was also a friend of yours, your first tutor in the Imperial City. When she disappeared, you were the first person to notice and begin an investigation. You must have been getting close, for you were ambushed by agents of the Emperor and thrown into a cell deep within the sewers, with no food or water. It was there that Ria Silmane found you. Ria appeared to you as a spectre, for she too had been betrayed by the man who now, with the ultimate gall, dared to impersonate the Emperor: Jagar Tharn, her former master. The true Emperor was imprisoned by Tharn's magic. Only you would be able to find the flaw in Jagar Tharn's spell, free the Emperor, and expose the traitorous Battlemage. With Ria's help, you escaped from your cell, and under her direction, you began the quest for the Staff of Chaos. Tharn had used the Staff to imprison the true Emperor and had then broken it, scattering it in secure locations throughout the Empire. Nearly ten years passed while Tharn consolidated his power and Ria's spectral form slowly dissolved, but at last you found all the pieces of the Staff of Chaos and combined them to form the key to the prison of the true Emperor. The final piece of the staff was a gem hidden in the Imperial Palace itself. Jagar Tharn had surrounded himself with a host of guards, human and otherwise. When you at last reached the gem, you discovered why they had fought so furiously. The gem not only freed the Emperor, but it destroyed Tharn, for the Imperial Battlemage had used his own lifeforce to empower the Staff. When the true Emperor once again assumed the throne, he considered himself greatly in your debt. You were often called upon to investigate evidence of Tharn's aborted master plan, and though you discovered little of great relevance, you were well rewarded. Still, you were not often at court. The Emperor almost considered you a rare and valued weapon, to be drawn only away from others' eyes. When the Emperor told you of the haunting of King Lysandus, your instinct told you that the Emperor was not telling you the entire story. Nevertheless, even if he did consider you a friend, the Emperor's word was law, and you boarded a ship that very night for Daggerfall."
--The pregenerated character background for a character that was imported to Daggerfall from Arena. Unfortunately, this option did not make it into the final game.
Chapter Preview
A loud creak of the ancient door that hadn't been opened in centuries giving way to the force of a heavily armored individual putting all their weight behind the push echoed off the stone walls. As she and her companions stepped into the throne room, she drew the massive sword from her back and ran a flaming hand across it to light it ablaze. Her companions similarly prepared themselves-dark blood magic dripping from a katana, lightning crackling from hands up the forearms, a radiant glow creating a shield. Their eyes focused on the unmoving body sitting in the throne with his head hung and hands resting on the arms. There was only one thing they could want.
Before they could get any closer, he took a running leap to land between them and crown they sought. In their momentary shock, he rose from his crouch and shift into a defensive stance with his shield prepared to block any immediate attacks. When they didn't immediately launch forward, his eyes slowly moved from one to the next as he quickly assessed them.
The brothers' movie
11/07/2015
Tumblr media
They don't use the same last name, but they are siblings. Pedro Pascal (40) the Chilean actor who starred in Game of Thrones and now has a starring role in the Netflix series Narcos, uses his mother's surname because it is easier to pronounce in English. 17 years younger, Lucas Balmaceda Pascal (23), also an actor, debuted in Los 80 and today stars in the TVN series Juana Brava. Here, both talk for the first time about their relationship, their love for cinema and their mutual admiration.
José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal was born in Chile, but a few months later he had to go into exile with his parents and his older sister, Javiera, to Denmark. It was the end of 1975. Thanks to the Rockefeller scholarship granted for his father, the doctor José Balmaceda Riera, a year later they moved to the United States: first they lived in San Antonio, Texas. Life there was just beginning and it was not easy.
Seventeen years later, in 1992, Lucas Balmaceda was born in Orange County, California, into the comfort of a family that was financially in its prime. His dad was at the peak of his career: as a fertility specialist and director of one of the University of California's reproductive health centers. But suddenly they moved back to Chile when Lucas was three years old and his brother Nicolas was eight. The two older ones stayed there. Pedro was already studying drama at Orange County High School of the Arts. Then he went to New York to study theater at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
After a couple of small appearances in TV series, in 2014 he took the big leap in his career: he played Prince Oberyn in Game of Thrones, which made him world famous. Today, he has a starring role in the series Narcos. He is also filming a movie with Matt Damon and Willem Dafoe.
Fame came early for Lucas. After leaving Saint George High School in 2010, he studied theater at the Universidad Católica, and he began to shine: in year fourth, he starred in the theater play "La noche obstinada", by choreographer Pablo Rotemberg, and got a role in the successful television series Los 80 and today, in his last year, he is the co-star of Juana Brava, the new TVN nighttime series.
Scene one:
Lucas appears in Pedro's life
P: "I was 17 when Lucas was born. He was a baby when I left to go to university. I remember my first visit back and Lucas, who was not even two years old, was already the owner of the house. I remember those looks, wanting to tell me: 'I don't know who you are, but this is my house, mate.
To this day I have never seen that personality in another child. It was fascinating to see that wit in someone so small. Since he was a kid he had that fierce intelligence... The four siblings, Javiera, the eldest and the queen of the family; Nicolas, the doctor; Lucas and I are like a compact and consistent unit. I can't imagine life without them".
L: "Pedro was studying at the university in New York when I was born. When he went home for vacations to see the family, as I didn't know him, I thought: 'who is this guest, who is this weirdo who kisses my mother? She's mine!'. Back in Chile, every year Pedro came to visit us. It was the most entertaining thing in the world for me. He was much older and he would come with all the coolness, with all the culture of cinema, with horror movies that were not available here. Then we would watch them and play them out, we would do sketches. We would play that Pedro was a murderous monster and we would escape from him. We were each a character. He was very funny, he did voices, he impersonated people. He gets mad when I tell him, but I've always found that he has a Jim Carrey thing about him, he manages to make some impressive faces. When he came on, I couldn't stop watching him, he was too entertaining. We are all big movie buffs thanks to my dad. When I was three years old, he took my brothers and me to see Batman. I remember crying hysterically. I was very young, sensitive, and being in the cinema was like entering to another reality: loud noises, giant screen. I didn't understand anything.
Scene two
Transplanted
P: "What's Chilean about me and what's gringo about me is a very interesting question, because I don't think even at 40 years old I've been able to figure it out. I was raised and educated in the United States and socialized a lot with American pop culture, but Chilean pride has always been unwavering. My parents were exiled for eight years. So our visits to Chile were regular. My whole life I have lived in the United States and my whole life I have visited my relatives in Chile. However, since my siblings were raised in Chile, my connection to the country is much stronger today and it is something I am grateful for. Something that happens to me a lot is that when I say I've been in the U.S. my whole life, they say, "Well, you're a gringo then! And after a conversation in my fluent Spanish with a clear Chilean accent that same person turns around and says: I've been listening to you, you're Chilean!
L: "I am Chilean because I lived and grew up here since I was three years old, but at the same time I have a cultural disconnection: my parents lived 25 years in the United States, my brothers are gringos. My visual culture is super gringo, the TV shows I watched when I was a kid or the movies I watch to this day I understand them from that place: as an American. More than being born in the United States, I feel it's because of my family's background".
SCENE THREE:
The performance
P: "There were good years and bad years (when I started my acting career in the United States). Many years I was a waiter to supplement my income. But from a very young age I was auditioning for professional jobs. In my late twenties my career in the theater was relatively consistent. Then, when opportunities in television arose, I was consolidating and it became much easier to pay my expenses. I think that struggle, going through those situations, empowers you a lot and it's one of the things I'm enormously grateful for. And Game of Thrones was an incredible gift. It's the best role I've ever played and they're the best people I've ever worked with."
L: "It's Pedro's fault that I wanted to be an actor. But when I told him I wanted to study theater it was hard for him, more than anything, because he cares about me and studying theater is hard. You have to be very wise and have a super high self-esteem to take care of yourself. Pedro went through many things. If there is an actor who doesn't have contacts in the United States, it's him. Everything he has achieved is because of his work. That's why when people ask me why I don't go to the U.S., it's a resounding no. Being Pedro Pascal's little brother is not going to get me around the corner; I would have to be Tom Cruise's twin to achieve anything. Even so, Pedro had many failed career starts. In 2011, for example, he was offered a starring role in a series called Wonder Woman and it was eventually canceled. That's why, when Games of Thrones came up, I was like, wow! We were all freaking out, because Games of Thrones is like a worldwide trending topic. All the episodes he was in, we were all watching them together at my house, eating pizza or sushi."
SCENE FOUR:
Mutual lessons
P: "I try not to get too involved in anything Lucas does or how he does it. He has single-handedly created each of his experiences and is one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen. He loves his work and is continually developing his skills for television and theater, and eventually film. He executes like a real artist and, to be honest, it is more common for me to learn something from him than for him to learn something from me. I mean that very sincerely. Lucas reminds me to work hard and keeps me inspired. When I saw him in Los 80 I was incredibly proud, but not surprised. I was seeing something I had always known. The only advice I've given him is to not be such a workaholic, to take care of himself and to be proud of what he's accomplished and what he still has yet to accomplish. Deep down, I'm always going to be the protective big brother."
L: "Pedro is an object of admiration for me. What he says is law for me. Sometimes I ask him: 'Pedro, did you see that movie?' and he says: 'Yes, I didn't like it'. I tell him: 'Oh, I didn't like it either'. The nice thing about our relationship is that it happens so sporadically, once or twice a year, that the moments when we see each other are very intense. We either fight a lot or we love each other too much, but it's always like a story, like a movie. While he's there and I'm here, we talk a lot on WhatsApp and Facebook".
P: "With Lucas we always keep each other up to date on what movies to watch, what TV shows are good. I bug him all the time asking him about what's going on in his life and I'm always asking him about his perspective on things. Despite being away from each other for a long time, Lucas and I are very close and always have been. I see Lucas at the beginning of an amazing career, with an unwavering curiosity and passion. I love it when he confides in me about things he is enjoying or situations he is dealing with."
L: "I've never seen Pedro in theater, but I've been told he's tremendous. On camera, I find that he has a very intense look. He also has, and in that we are very similar, a very strong visual culture, the fact that we have always liked horror movies. He plays characters that hide something, dark characters. A great strength is that he is very sensual, he knows how to handle himself well from seduction".
P: "Lucas is brave, he's fearless. There's nothing he's not willing to try, he's never going to give up on a challenge, he's never going to leave something halfway, no matter what that means to him. Lucas is unstoppable.
