Imelda Reyes relationship HC's
I don't know what made me write this but I guess I was just in an Imelda mood recently. ..
Sooo uhhh some Imelda x reader relationship headcanons! Please remember that these are my HC's and you don't have to agree with them. This is just for fun 💚
Tumblr media
Getting into the relationship in the first place would be the hardest thing in the entire relationship itself.
She assumes you like her then she knows you like her. But she’s going to wait for you to tell her that. Her intuition is a bit too good.
She’ll throw hints at you that she knows you like her or throw flirty remarks your way. Of course, it leaves you blushing and wondering why she hasn’t said anything yet if she keeps flirting with you.
Then it finally dawns on you that she knows you like her and she likes you too.
Then when you finally confess, she’d probably ask you what took you so long, furthering your embarrassment but truly you both are just happy.
Imelda is very competitive in a relationship, it’s how she has fun. She loves competing against you with basically anything.
Who can get to the Quidditch pitch faster? Want to race her to the Great Hall? She’ll probably win.
But it’s all in good fun and she’d never let her competitiveness get in the way of anything.
She shows her love in playful ways. She’s not a super touchy person but she’ll definitely show her love no matter what.
She’s flirty though. Constantly. (Marry me, honestly.)
You come to all her games and even when Slytherin isn’t playing, she drags you to games anyway.
Since she’s Quidditch captain of the Slytherin team, she has access to the Prefects bathroom and whereas she’s not really a gossiper, you’re the exception and she tells you everything she overhears there.
PRANK WARS 100%
She goes all in too. Good luck trying to top her pranks. She’s very clever and knows how to pull off a good prank.
Defends you from anyone for anything. She’ll stand up for you if she hears the slightest negative thing about you from someone else’s mouth. Call her overprotective but nobody is going to talk crap about her partner.
“Shut up, only I’m allowed to say stuff like that about them.” type of girl (pls marry me, Imelda).
In conclusion, we all need a girl like Imelda in our lives.

Part I: Girls' Night
Nightfall was reaching Feldcroft as Emmeline Alexander approached the quaint hamlet. She was tired from a long day of studying, but had decided to fly her broom there from Hogwarts. The fresh air was good for her and gave her some time to relax before what was sure to be a boisterous night.
Once she touched down, Emmeline made the familiar short trek to that same cottage – the one she’d been visiting regularly for over two years. Now, the cottage was larger – the handiwork of some transfiguration spells and charms she had mastered in the Room of Requirement. The home had two floors and separate bedrooms now, and she’d even added some flower boxes to the windows with simple, yet pretty landscaping outside.
It felt like home. In many ways, it was her second home.
The lights inside the cottage were on and Emmeline could hear joyous laughter and voices inside. She grinned to herself with anticipation as she knocked.
The door swung open and she was surprised by the first face to greet her.
“Sebastian?” she said stupidly.
“How nice to see you, too,” the freckled 18-year-old replied. He grinned at her and Emmeline felt her stomach flip.
“Emmeline!” Anne Sallow, Imelda Reyes and Poppy Sweeting waved from their seats around the dining table inside.
Emmeline moved to enter the home but was blocked by Sebastian, who held an arm across the threshold to prevent her from entering. “Wait,” he said, his lips forming a smirk. “You have to answer a security question.”
“Security question?” Emmeline repeatedly stupidly. “Seb, it’s me.”
“A likely response from an imposter,” Sebastian quipped while Anne, Imelda and Poppy giggled.
Emmeline sighed at the frivolity of it all. Clearly the group had already opened the firewhiskey. “Fine,” she sighed. “What’s the question?”
“Who was your first crush at Hogwarts?” Sebastian asked.
“Why is that the question?”
“Because the answer’s funny.”
Emmeline sighed again. “Do I have to?”
“Yes.”
“Fine. Ominis,” Emmeline muttered quietly.
“Who?”
“Ominis Gaunt.”
The group inside roared with laughter as Emmeline shoved her way past Sebastian, tossing her satchel on the floor once inside.
“Bastard,” she mumbled. Sebastian threw an arm around her and pulled her in for a sideways hug.
“You know you love me,” he teased before Emmeline shoved him away.
“I’d love to be rid of you,” she sneered. “Besides, isn’t this supposed to be a girls’ night? Why are you here?”
“Don’t worry, darling, I’ll be out of your hair soon,” Sebastian said. “I’ll retreat to my room so you lovely ladies can do whatever it is you do.”
“Why aren’t you at Hogwarts?”
“Because it’s the weekend and all of my favorite people are here… except Ominis, but I reckon he’d appreciate a break from me,” Sebastian said.
“I’d appreciate a break from you too,” Emmeline huffed. “Especially after that stunt you pulled at breakfast this morning.”
“That was an accident, darling. I didn’t know the goblet was going to explode like that.”
Emmeline rolled her eyes and slinked past him to take a seat at the table with her other friends. She was quick to pour herself a glass from the firewhiskey bottle that sat on the table.
“Where’s Natty?” she asked as she reached for a handful of pear drops from a bowl.
“She’ll be here any moment,” Poppy answered. “She was having dinner with her mum.”
“And Nellie?”
“She’s not coming. She had a date.”
Emmeline’s eyes widened with curiosity. “With whom?”
“Everett.”
“Clopton?”
“Do we know another Everett?” Sebastian chimed in from the sink where he was cleaning dishes. Emmeline turned to glare at him.
“Excuse me, but I do believe this is supposed to be a girls’ night,” she chided. “These conversations are not meant to include you.”
Imelda and Poppy shared a glance, their understanding mutual. It was going to be a long, albeit entertaining night with Sebastian and Emmeline egging each other on. It was the nature of their friendship, and neither could help themselves.
But despite their ceaseless banter, Emmeline and Sebastian were incredibly fond of each other, carrying a close bond that traced back to the start of their fifth year. Since then, their lives became irrevocably intertwined, woven by the threads of adventure, trauma and mutual secrets.
They were inseparable most days, except when Sebastian inevitably said or did something foolish. He provided an edge that contrasted Emmeline’s poise, an amusing juxtaposition to all who had the privilege to sit back and observe the tandem.
What neither of them could admit, though, was that their bond, no matter how unyielding, wasn’t quite enough to satiate either of them.
A brisk knock at the door signaled Natty’s arrival. Sebastian answered it again and offered Natty a much more hospitable welcome than the one he’d given Emmeline.
“Why doesn’t she have to answer any security questions?” Emmeline demanded.
“Because she is trustworthy,” Sebastian said, flashing an innocent grin. Emmeline shot him a glare, which only seemed to bring him more glee.
The five girls settled in around the table, catching up on their latest life updates. Though Emmeline, Imelda, Natty and Poppy saw one another daily at Hogwarts, Emmeline had taken it upon herself to ensure Anne wouldn’t feel left out. She knew Anne missed Hogwarts and her friends, especially now that it was their seventh year, so she arranged a slumber party to bring some cheer to the Feldcroft cottage.
“Natty, how was dinner with your mum?” Emmeline asked.
Natty sighed. “Not good,” she replied. “My mother doesn’t like the idea of me dating Eric.”
“Why not? Eric’s nice,” Poppy said.
“She doesn’t think Eric has enough ambition,” Natty explained.
“Well they can’t all be Slytherins,” Emmeline laughed.
“Too true!” Anne laughed.
“And they can’t all be Leander, who still seems to think he’s going to be a world-renowned duelist,” Poppy muttered.
Emmeline offered her a sympathetic smile. “He’s still on about that?” she asked.
“More than ever,” Poppy sighed. “It’s rather insufferable, really. Makes me wonder if there’s something wrong with my head for fancying him.”
Meanwhile, Sebastian listened to their conversation with fascination as he pretended to dry dishes in the kitchen. Sure, he knew girls had these kinds of discussions, but they usually chose their words carefully or withheld certain details when boys were around. He felt like they were providing him with some kind of answer sheet that could help him crack the code to what it was that women actually wanted.
“Leander always means well,” Emmeline continued. “Sometimes it comes off a bit obnoxious or paltry, but his intentions are always good.”
“I wish I knew what his intentions are with me,” Poppy sighed. “He’s all over the place. Anyway, I guess I should be patient with him. He may be delusional at times, but at least he has ambitions.”
“Eric does have ambitions, though,” Natty sighed. “He’s very brave and has a good head on his shoulders. He just isn’t sure what he wants to do after Hogwarts yet. I told my mother he’d figure it out and find a good job, but she doesn’t seem convinced.”
“She’ll come around,” Emmeline assured. “She’s just being a protective mother. She just needs to get to know him a little more.”
“I hope that’s true,” Natty said. “I really like him.”
“He really likes you too,” Imelda noted. “I overheard him singing your praises to Weasley in Potions last week. You know, before the class had to clear out because of Garreth’s rogue potion.”
“Speaking of Garreth,” Poppy giggled. “I heard you had to let him down easy, Emmeline.”
“What?!”
The five girls jumped at the sudden intrusion, turning to stare at Sebastian, who had been listening intently from his spot near the sink.
“Will you mind your business?!” Anne chided.
“Weasley asked you out?” Sebastian asked, his gaze fixed on Emmeline as he ignored his sister’s scolding.
Emmeline furrowed her brow at him, still taken aback by his sudden outburst. “What, is that so hard to believe?” she demanded.
“That’s not what I meant and you know it,” Sebastian replied. He was fortunate he was standing with one side turned away from the group of girls, because a vein in his neck threatened to expose just how irritated he was. “I’m just surprised, is all. Didn’t know Weasley had it in him.”
“Well I told him thanks but no thanks,” Emmeline said, still eyeing Sebastian suspiciously. “I like Garreth but he’s not my type.”
“And what is your type?” Imelda asked. “Judging from your past dating history, I’m not sure you have one.”
Emmeline paused. It was true, the boys she’d gone out with were all quite different from one another. Her first crush at Hogwarts had been Ominis, which all of her friends gleefully reminded her of much too frequently for her liking. She had fancied him because he was noble and composed, yet just playful enough to avoid being deemed too stuffy. But that crush had been fleeting as she and Ominis became close friends, and Emmeline’s affections were replaced by the other member of their trio, who was just the right amount of daring and incalculable she adored.
Then there was Amit Thakkar, who had been incredibly romantic and sweet, but not quite adventurous enough for her. There was also Andrew Larson, who intrigued Emmeline with his artistry and creative spirit, but was also too keen on staying indoors and out of trouble.
Emmeline had agreed to a handful of Hogsmeade visits and informal dates with other boys in her year, but none had reached more than one or two outings before she offered some excuse, usually that she was too busy to date.
In truth, Emmeline’s preoccupation had little to do with her schedule and everything to do with the only boy who had never pursued her.
She and Sebastian teased, flirted, even made suggestive remarks not suitable for most platonic friendships. They spent most of their free time, meals and classes together, far too often even for best mates. They shared secrets, musings and inside jokes that no other ears would ever hear, but they remained unaware that their biggest secret was mutual.
“I guess Garreth is just too… superficial for me,” Emmeline finally said with a shrug. “Don’t get me wrong, I like him. He makes me laugh and he’s always fun to hang out with, but I can’t recall ever having one deep or meaningful conversation with him in the two-and-a-half years I’ve known him. I want someone who makes me laugh but also makes me think.”
“But didn’t you say Amit was too deep for you?” Imelda pointed out.
Emmeline sighed. “There’s no such thing as too deep,” she said. “Amit was just too… philosophical. He was always trying to apply some underlying meaning to everything. It was just too much for me. Sometimes, I think things just happen because that’s how life works. There’s not always any rhyme or reason to its occurrences. That said, I also enjoy reflecting on how life shapes us.”
“I’m not sure you’re ever going to find someone who offers you that right balance of perception and candor,” Natty laughed.
“Maybe you need to stop dating so many Ravenclaws,” Sebastian, who had been hanging onto their every word, chimed in.
“What’s wrong with Ravenclaws?” Emmeline demanded, turning to glare at him.
“They don’t match your sense of adventure,” Sebastian replied simply. “They’d rather bury their noses in books than use their wands.”
“Says the bloke who owns more books than anyone I know,” Emmeline said.
“There’s nothing wrong with a thirst for knowledge,” Sebastian said smoothly. “But what’s the point in all that knowledge if you aren’t going to apply it to the real world?”
Emmeline couldn’t argue with that. It was precisely why she and Sebastian had become best friends. He was smart, yet daring enough to keep her guessing. Sure, that recklessness had nearly destroyed their lives at one point, but Emmeline had been patient and understanding with Sebastian as he worked to repair his past mistakes. Since that fateful fifth year, he had proved to her that he was remorseful, and Emmeline’s fondness for her friend morphed into something much heavier.
But she would never admit that, nor did she want to discuss her dating history with him. Instead, she retreated to her best defense – the wit and snark that masked her fear of ever confessing her feelings.
“And what’s the point in having a girls’ night when you’re here?” she retorted.
Sebastian responded with a smirk. “You love me.”
“I’d love to murder you.”
“Murder?” Sebastian drawled. “Such violent thoughts from such a tiny, little thing. Didn’t know you had it in you.”
“Careful, Sallow,” Imelda laughed. “We’ve all seen what she can do to you in a duel.”
“And I went easy on you last time,” Emmeline added.
“You’re anything but easy,” Sebastian shot back. The room fell quiet, Emmeline’s eyes growing wide while Poppy’s mouth fell open. Sebastian regretted his words instantly, knowing damn well the girls would giggle about them and dissect them later.
Imelda, ever the bold, mouthy one of the group, was the first to bark a laugh. “You two are something else,” she said, shaking her head. Emmeline also shook her head in an attempt to appear unbothered by Sebastian’s jeer.
“Say, I have an idea,” Anne said, her eyes carrying an impish gleam. “Let’s play a game. Sebastian, you can play too if you want, considering you’re practically one of the girls.”
“Hey now!”
The girls giggled but Sebastian made no attempt to leave the room. Instead, he finished drying the final dish – the same one he’d been “drying” for the past 20 minutes – and placed it away inside a cupboard, tossing the dish towel on the counter before he pulled a chair up to the table between Anne and Emmeline.
“Fine. Since you ladies clearly insist on my presence,” he said smoothly. “What’s the game?”
“Let’s play Never Have I Ever,” Anne said innocently. She flicked her wand, another bottle of firewhiskey sailing from a cabinet until it landed neatly on the table with a soft thud. Anne flashed a grin at the circle of friends. “We’re going to need this.

Part II: Never Have I Ever
“Never have I ever bailed on detention.”
“Poppy, have you even had detention?” Sebastian laughed. The group echoed him with a warm chuckle, a signal that the firewhiskey was in full effect.
“Precisely why I’ve never bailed on it,” Poppy said proudly.
Sebastian and Natty both drank from their glasses, sparking another round of giggles.
“Of course,” Anne mused. “Sebastian’s skipped more detentions than he’s snogged girls in broom cupboards, which is really saying something.”
“And how would you know about my broom cupboard escapades?” Sebastian demanded.
“I know everything,” Anne answered, gesturing to the ring of friends around them. “I have eyes and ears everywhere.”
“More like eyes and ears in the form of a certain quidditch captain,” Sebastian muttered, shooting a pointed glance at Imelda, who straightened in her chair with a smug smile.
“Someone has to keep your sister informed on your everyday life,” she said. “Merlin knows you’ve had enough extracurriculars to entertain us all.”
Emmeline was decidedly quiet throughout the exchange. Of course, she knew of Sebastian’s illicit activities. He had become the talk among most of the girls at Hogwarts, particularly since the start of their seventh year when it had become clear that Sebastian was more of a man than a boy. Now 18, Sebastian’s features were much more handsome than cute, though he still clung to his boyish charisma.
Though Emmeline wanted to fling herself from the top of the Astronomy Tower every time she heard a new rumor about Sebastian and his latest fling, she typically kept quiet on the matter. Despite all the secrets they shared, she and Sebastian rarely discussed their love lives. It was the one element of their lives they chose to keep from one another.
Imelda’s turn came next. “Never have I ever snogged someone in a broom cupboard,” she cackled.
Sebastian groaned and took a drink. So did Emmeline.
“Who have you been snogging, and in which broom cupboard?” Sebastian demanded, setting his glass down with an audible bang.
“What’s wrong, afraid all the good cupboards will be taken?” Emmeline teased. Sebastian glowered at her, much to her satisfaction. “You aren’t the only one with secrets, Sebastian Sallow.”
Anne was the only one who noticed how Sebastian’s jaw tightened. She smiled to herself as she realized it was her turn.
“Never have I ever wanted to snog my best friend,” she declared boldly.
Imelda snorted as Sebastian and Emmeline both froze, rather noticeably. Everyone else sat, their drink glasses untouched, leaving the pair to glance nervously toward one another. Finally, Emmeline sat back and folded her arms across her chest for emphasis.
“No one?” Anne asked innocently. “Someone here must be lying.”
Emmeline averted her eyes while Sebastian stared at the table as if it had suddenly transformed into the most interesting book he’d ever read. The silence that settled over them roared with implication evident to everyone but Sebastian and Emmeline.
“Well, I suppose it’s my turn,” Sebastian finally said, shooting an annoyed glance at Anne who smiled innocently. Sebastian thought for a moment, his eyes flickering toward Emmeline for a fleeting second. “Never have I ever used Polyjuice to impersonate a headmaster.”
Emmeline gasped at his audacity, provoking a chortle from Sebastian. “I swore you to secrecy on that!” she hissed.
“It was two years ago, might as well have a good laugh about it now,” Sebastian said. He reached in front of Emmeline to nudge her drinking class closer to her. “Go on now, drink.”
Emmeline huffed at him before taking a sip. “Bastard,” she muttered before she was forced to recall the time she broke into Headmaster Black’s office. When she finished the story, she turned her head slowly toward Sebastian for emphasis. His gaze matched hers as he tried to appear unbothered, but Emmeline knew him too well. And he knew her too well, meaning he sensed payback was brewing.
She cleared her throat for dramatic effect. “Never have I ever worn my sister’s dress.”
The room paused in silent shock as the other girls processed Emmeline’s words. Finally, a burst of laughter erupted and Sebastian’s cheeks tinged red as he took a drink.
“That was one time!” he insisted, which only provoked more laughter from the girls. “I was drunk!”
Emmeline leaned back in her chair, her eyes glinting with satisfaction as Sebastian was forced to retell the time he drank too much the previous Christmas in Feldcroft and got into Anne’s wardrobe.
“In my defense, Ominis and Em were the ones egging me on,” Sebastian huffed.
“My only regret is not taking a photo to remember the moment,” Anne laughed. “Not that I could forget it if I tried.”
“Always knew you had a kinky side to you, Sallow,” Imelda teased.
The game carried on for several more rounds until the group’s drunken antics had Poppy slumping in her seat. She nearly toppled backward in a fit of giggles at something Imelda said, stirring concern from Sebastian and Emmeline, who were the most sober.
“Poppy!” Emmeline shouted as the chair tipped dangerously. “Maybe you should lie down for a bit.”
Sebastian checked his pocket watch. “It’s nearly two in the morning,” he said. “Perhaps we should all get some sleep.”
Emmeline nodded in agreement as she helped Poppy from the chair, using her wand to conjure five sleeping bags on the living room floor.
“Oh, are you and Sebastian sharing a bag?” Imelda pestered. Emmeline rolled her eyes and eased Poppy to the floor to help her inside a sleeping bag.
“As much as Sebastian would probably love nothing more than to sleep in a room surrounded by 18-year-old women, he has a room of his own,” Emmeline replied as Poppy curled up sleepily.
“Wouldn’t want you ladies fighting over who gets to sleep next to me,” Sebastian drawled.
Imelda heaved a sound of disgust as she helped Natty, who was also quite inebriated, into a sleeping bag.
“Emmeline, please do something about your boyfriend,” Imelda ordered.
“He’s not my boyfriend! He disgusts me just as much as you do!”
“Oh please, the two of you have been verbally edging each other all night. Get a room. Just make sure you use a silencing charm,” Imelda teased.
Sebastian chuckled at the girls and headed toward the staircase.
“Goodnight, my darlings!” he called before he disappeared up the stairs to retreat to his bedroom.
Emmeline slipped down the hallway to change into her pajamas before walking a lap around the cottage’s first floor, extinguishing the lights. She climbed into a sleeping bag next to Anne, who was just settling down herself.
“Thank you for planning this evening,” Anne said. Emmeline rolled onto her back, the dim cottage falling quiet except for Poppy’s light snoring.
“Of course,” Emmeline said. “I’m glad we got to have a fun girls’ night. Or girls’ night plus Sebastian.”
Anne giggled. “He just can’t help himself, can he?” she laughed. “Always has to be the center of attention.”
“I think he just likes to be included in things,” Emmeline noted, her voice falling quiet as her eyes scanned the ceiling, where she knew Sebastian was sleeping overhead. “Ever since you and Ominis let him back into your lives, he’s made it a point to spend time with you. Doesn’t want to take you for granted.”
“I know,” Anne replied softly. “I’m glad he’s worked so hard to change. And I’m glad he has you, you know. Maybe he doesn’t admit it, but you’re just as important to him as Ominis and me.”
Emmeline let out a gentle laugh. “I’ll continue to give him the dignity of believing I don’t know that. Even if the moron doesn’t deserve it.”
Anne giggled in acknowledgement. She listened to Imelda’s breathing change next to her, indicating she had also fallen asleep.
“I really am glad you didn’t give up on him, after everything that happened, after what he did,” Anne said quietly. “I like to think your support was what kept him from breaking.”
“He’s a good person, one of the best I know,” Emmeline responded. “He shouldn’t have to spend the rest of his life paying for what he did when he knows how wrong it was. He deserved a second chance and I’m always going to support that.”
“He deserves a good punch in the face sometimes, too,” Anne muttered, drawing a giggle from Emmeline.
“That, he does,” she agreed.
The pair allowed silence to settle over the room until Anne suddenly shivered.
“Are you cold?” Emmeline asked, sitting up to peer at Anne through the darkness.
“Just a little,” Anne replied. “It gets rather drafty in here.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to just sleep in your own room?” Emmeline asked. “I know you wanted to do the whole slumber party thing, but it seems silly for you to sleep here on the floor when you have a perfectly comfy bed upstairs.”
“It’s girls’ night,” Anne insisted. “I want to spend time with my best girl friends.”
“At least let me fetch you another blanket,” Emmeline said, rising to her feet.
“There’s one upstairs on my bed,” Anne answered. “Oh, and there’s a second one in the closet in Sebastian’s room.”
Emmeline paused. “You need both?”
“If you wouldn’t mind,” Anne replied innocently. Emmeline nodded and crept carefully, tiptoeing around the other sleeping girls toward the staircase.
She stopped in Anne’s bedroom at the top of the stairs first, gathering a quilt from the bed before continuing down the hallway toward the last door. It was slightly ajar but the lights were out, causing her to linger in hesitation.
She stood quietly, listening carefully for a sign that Sebastian was still awake. The only sound she could hear was the snores from the living room below.
“Sebastian?” she finally whispered as she gently shouldered the door open. She poked her head inside, squinting to peer at Sebastian. He was under the covers, seemingly fast asleep.
She tread quietly toward the closet door, where she found another quilt folded on the top shelf. She stood on her tiptoes to reach it and gently pulled it downward, tucking it beneath an arm.
Sebastian stirred quietly, but didn’t react. Emmeline retreated slowly toward the door, holding her breath as if any more noise would be disastrous.
Suddenly, one of the blankets caught beneath her foot and pulled as she stepped. Emmeline stumbled, her footsteps pounding loudly on the wood floors before she finally lost her balance and toppled over with a thud.
“Who’s there?!” Sebastian sat upright, one hand fumbling over the nightstand for his wand.
“Shh! It’s me! Sebastian, it’s me!” Emmeline hissed, still sprawled out on the floor.
“Em?”
“Yes!”
“What the hell are you doing in here?”
“I was getting another blanket for Anne!”
“And you entered my bedroom unannounced?”
“You were asleep!”
“What if I’d been doing something private?”
“Ew! Were you?”
“No! I was sleeping!”
“Then what’s it matter?”
“This is my bedroom!” Sebastian squinted through the darkness as he tried to make out Emmeline’s form. “Why are you on the floor?”
“I tripped.” Emmeline managed to untangle herself from the heap of blankets and climb to her feet as Sebastian found his wand.
“Lumos!” The tip of his wand cast a warm light throughout the room, revealing Emmeline standing about three feet from the door. She couldn’t help but sneak a double-take as she realized Sebastian had been sleeping shirtless.
Sebastian swallowed. Emmeline’s pajamas revealed much more skin than he’d been accustomed to seeing from her, the neckline of her top dipping dangerously low across the tops of her breasts. He’d never seen her in her sleep attire before, their separate Hogwarts houses keeping them apart at night. Besides, whenever he pictured her in bed, she was wearing far, far less.
Meanwhile, Emmeline took in Sebastian’s tousled hair and sleepy eyes. She hated how enticing he looked, even in such a vulnerable state.
“Uh, are you okay?” Sebastian finally asked.
“Yes, I’m fine.”
“Okay. Is everyone else asleep?”
“Yes.”
“Okay.”
As the room fell quiet, Emmeline willed her feet to move. Instead, she remained rooted to her spot, as if she were looking for a reason to linger.
Sebastian watched her curiously, his own brain searching for an excuse to keep her there. “Boy, Poppy’s quite the lightweight, isn’t she?” he finally said with a soft laugh.
“She sure is,” Emmeline giggled. “To be fair, she weighs about a fraction of the rest of us.”
“I didn’t realize she was so enamored by Prewett,” Sebastian continued. Emmeline shrugged.
“I suppose you learned quite a bit from crashing girls’ night, didn’t you?” she mused.
“Positively enlightened.”
“Anything you care to share with the class?”
Sebastian masked his hesitation with a smirk. Though he didn’t consider himself to be drunk, firewhiskey had never been his friend. He’d had a fair amount that evening and it was making it more difficult than ever to quell the tightness in chest that could only be traced back to Emmeline.
Seventh year would be over before they knew it and Sebastian feared their friendship would vanish too. Emmeline was set for a position within the Ministry of Magic’s Department of Mysteries, where she hoped to become an Unspeakable. Sebastian had a position laid out for him as a cursebreaker with Gringotts. He was excited for those possibilities but terrified adulthood would drive a wedge between him and the one person he couldn’t envision a life without.
“I didn’t realize you had such high demands for your romantic partners,” he finally teased.
Emmeline narrowed her eyes at him, her lips parting in shock. “I am not demanding!” she hissed. “You take that back!”
Sebastian sat back against the headboard of the bed with his arms crossed. “Point proven,” he said smugly.
A loud snore echoed through the cottage and Sebastian couldn’t help but bark a laugh. “Was that Poppy?”
“I think that one was Imelda,” Emmeline replied as another snore cut through the room. “It’s going to be a long night.”
“Here,” Sebastian said, scooting to one side of the bed. “Just sleep here. I’ll cast a silencing charm to take care of the snoring.”
Emmeline’s hesitation was clear as she stood, her feet frozen in place as  Imelda’s earlier teasing came to mind. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to join Sebastian in bed – she had daydreamed of that particular scenario more than she’d ever admit – but it was the implication, the expectation, and most of all, the temptation of what it meant.
“Come on,” Sebastian said. “I don’t bite. Unless you’re into that sort of thing. Besides, it’s not really all that different from all the times you’ve slept on my shoulder while studying.”
But it was different, and Sebastian knew it. The two of them sharing a bed in his cottage, away from the confines of the Hogwarts castle and all its propriety, would absolutely be different – especially when he wasn’t sure how he could possibly keep his hands to himself when Emmeline was next to him looking like that .
“All right, fine,” Emmeline sighed, the spare quilts forgotten on the floor. She moved slowly toward the bed, sliding next to Sebastian who still had his wand lit.
“Silencio,” he said, the room falling dark and quiet. “There, that’s better.”
Emmeline nodded quietly as Sebastian tossed his wand back on the nightstand to settle in beneath the covers. She swallowed as she fought to maintain gentle and light breaths, her chest rising as her body betrayed her. She was certain Sebastian could hear her heartbeat hammering against her ribcage.
Next to her, Sebastian was having the same thoughts. He could smell her shampoo, light and floral, and if he moved any closer, his hand would brush the silkiness of her pajamas. He wondered how that fabric would compare to the softness of her skin, or dare he think it, the velvet feel of her…
“Sebastian?”
“Huh?” Sebastian was pulled from his sinful thoughts.
“I asked if you’re alright,” Emmeline said. “You seem to be breathing heavily.”
“Oh. Sorry.”
“It’s okay. Just making sure you’re okay.”
“I’m fine. You know, other than the fact you’re hogging all the covers.”
“I am not!” Emmeline huffed. She shoved the blanket toward Sebastian who merely chuckled. “It’s not my fault it’s freezing in here,” she said.
“It’s nearly 21 degrees,” Sebastian pointed out. “It’s plenty warm.”
“Not for me.”
“Fine, come here.” Sebastian hooked an arm around Emmeline’s waist and pulled himself closer to her as he nestled against her back. He instantly melted into her, but could feel her shoulders shift as she tensed. “This okay?” he asked, worried he had crossed a line.
“Mmhm,” she answered sleepily. “That’s better. You’re nice and warm.”
Sebastian relaxed a little and could feel Emmeline’s body do the same, though she was hyper-aware of the way his hand rested gently against her waist.
“Emmeline?” Sebastian asked quietly.
“Hmm?”
“Anne’s right, you know.” His tone was soft yet serious enough that Emmeline couldn't help but lift her head slightly from the pillow to hear him better. “I overheard the two of you earlier. What she said about you being just as important to me as her and Ominis… she’s right.”
Emmeline held her breath as he spoke and carefully mulled over a response. This was precisely what she had meant earlier when she said she wanted a romantic partner who could share meaningful conversations with her. Sebastian could be impulsive, even reckless at times, but he wore his heart on his sleeve and didn’t shy from saying how he really felt, even if it made him vulnerable to her. She always liked that about him.
“Well,” Emmeline started after drawing a shaky breath. “Despite your obnoxious eavesdropping, I meant what I said, too. You did deserve a second chance. You’re a good person and I’ll never stop having your back.”
Sebastian nuzzled the back of her neck gently, a bold move that made Emmeline’s breath hitch. “I like having your back for a change,” he murmured. He knew he was potentially risking everything – their friendship and her trust, but years of longing and suppression had become too unbearable to endure any further for him. He had to know if he stood even the slightest chance at the rare privilege it would be to touch her.
“You sure you wouldn’t be more comfortable in a broom cupboard?” she quipped.
“Sounds like I’m not the only one who finds them rather cozy,” he murmured into her ear, his breath warm against her skin.
Emmeline knew him too well. She could sense the push in his voice, testing her to see how she’d react and how far she was willing to let him go. She decided that enough was enough – she had been drained by the past few years she’d spent practicing poise and self-control when it came to him, stifling all her impulses and redirecting her feelings to boys who would never measure up. If Sebastian was going to tempt her, she was going to ace his tests.
She whipped her body around so that she was facing him, startling Sebastian who tensed. She could feel it in the way he was subconsciously gripping her hip.
“Just curious,” she cooed softly. “Which broom cupboard is your favorite? Is it the one in the dungeons near the Slytherin Common Room? Seems like you might appreciate the convenience in location. I find that one a bit too snug to move around in, though. Perhaps you’re more of a fan of the cupboard in the North Hall, near the History of Magic classroom? That one’s nice and secluded, especially if you make a lot of noise.”
“Emmeline,” Sebastian warned.
“Personally, I think my favorite’s the little room in the Clock Tower Entrance,” Emmeline continued. “Ever been in that one? I showed that one to Amit after Crossed Wands once – we spent a good hour in there, but I don’t think he appreciated it as much as I did.”
Sebastian had to grit his teeth. He didn’t want to think about her doing those things with someone else, but the notion that she was willing and capable of them made him tense, particularly below the waist.
“So which is it?” Emmeline pressed. “Which is your favorite?”
“I like the one off the Reception Hall, near the kitchens,” Sebastian replied through clenched teeth. “Easy to get to and convenient if you work up an appetite.”
Emmeline’s eyes widened at his remark but her lips formed a seductive smirk. “Oh, I wasn’t aware of that one,” she purred innocently. “Perhaps someone will show me someday.”
“Perhaps.”
“Is it spacious? I don’t like when I have to stand the entire time.”
Sebastian sucked in a sharp breath. “Merlin, Emmeline. You’re killing me.”
“Whatever do you mean, Seb?” Emmeline asked, still feigning naivety.
“Stop making this so hard on me.”
Emmeline shifted, her hips pressing gently against Sebastian’s. “Oh, you weren’t kidding about the hard part.”
“I’m going to hex you.” Sebastian growled.
“Fine. Just wait until we’re done and make it worth my while.”
Sebastian was certain he had to be dreaming. Emmeline – his Emmeline, was practically throwing herself at him, daring him to take a chance. And Sebastian was a true Slytherin – ambitious, cunning and determined to get the things he wanted. He didn’t let chances escape his grasp.
He kissed her. He could feel the breath of air she sucked in through her nose when their lips met, her eyes fluttering shut as she returned it. Sebastian wasn’t sure what this would all mean come morning, but the hunger in her kisses made it clear that she wasn’t in the mood to worry about it.
Bed sheets rustled and hands grabbed at whatever skin was exposed. Hearts raced as both realized they were about to satiate their biggest fantasy. Sebastian’s hands roamed beneath Emmeline’s top, brushing over her stomach and down her sides until his fingers found the hem. He pulled away, his eyes heavy as he tugged the shirt upward. His lips found her neck, drawing a soft moan from her.
“Seems I’ve found a sensitive spot,” he murmured against her skin. He left a trail of kisses from her neck to her collarbone, ending between her breasts.
The darkness made it difficult for Emmeline to see much, but she could certainly feel. Sebastian’s hands were everywhere, yet it still wasn’t enough for her. As she rolled onto her back, Sebastian paused to kiss her again, sparking more impatience from her. She could feel the familiar swell of heat that only happened when she thought of Sebastian late at night, alone in her bed, her own fingers forced to mimic Sebastian’s.
Emmeline lifted her hips as Sebastian tugged her bottoms off, followed by her panties. She silently praised whatever higher power was responsible for Sebastian’s impatience too.
Sebastian’s fingers dragged between her thighs, over her slick entrance. The moment was fleeting and she whimpered a plea for more. Sebastian obliged her as his index and middle finger made contact with her core again. He rubbed her until her breath became a heavy pant and her hips rocked upward demanding more.
A loud moan carried through the room as Sebastian’s fingers disappeared inside her, the wetness immediately coating them. He curled a finger and Emmeline gasped, her submission making his cock stir.
“Fuck, Em. You’re so fucking perfect,” Sebastian whispered, his eyes roaming her body in the moonlight that poured through the window.
“And you’re… overdressed.”
Sebastian flashed a smirk and moved to remove his own remaining garments, kneeling over Emmeline once he was rid of them. Emmeline couldn’t help but stare at his form. He was fully erect, the length of his cock proudly anticipating her touch.
She wasn’t sure how she was going to take all of it, but she was damn sure she’d die trying.
A groan escaped Sebastian’s lips as Emmeline gently took him in her hand, gently tracing from the base to his tip. He twitched, his arousal unlike any he’d experienced.
“Emmeline,” he breathed as her mouth engulfed him. He could feel her tongue flatten against his shaft, slowly running over every vein and ridge with deliberation. “Emmeline,” he repeated, his eyes squeezed shut. The sight alone of her lips wrapped around him was enough to nudge him to the edge. “I don’t think I can take it.”
He hated that confession. As much as he loved this girl and would willingly follow any order she asked of him, his pride remained firm. He didn’t want her to think he was incapable of pleasing her, of lasting long enough to ensure she was good and finished. But this moment, this feeling, had consumed his free thoughts for so long, there was no way he could remain composed much longer.
Emmeline removed her mouth from him, her smirk indicating the satisfaction she felt from the power she clearly held over him.
“You may not be able to take it,” she said, eyeing his cock pointedly, “But I can.”
Sebastian decided she was going to be the death of him, but at least he’d die a happy man.
Emmeline straightened up to rest back on her heels, her eyes maintaining their challenging gaze. “What do you want me to do to you?” she asked, her voice husky with desire.
Sebastian chewed at the inside of his cheek. No girl had ever asked him that. It made his cock pulse. “I want you to do whatever’s going to make you moan my name,” he replied.
Emmeline couldn’t believe she was lucky enough to exist in the same world as Sebastian Sallow.
“On your back,” she ordered. Sebastian, who typically preferred to be the assertive and dominant party in such situations, obliged. He was too eager to please, and to discover that sweet, supreme moment when she’d cry out his name and show him how she looked when she experienced ultimate pleasure.
As she climbed over him, her legs straddling either side of his torso, his hands snapped instinctively to her hips. His fingers gripped her tightly, drawing a shaky laugh from her.
“Careful,” she mewed as she positioned herself above him. “Can’t have you leaving any marks.”
Before Sebastian could form a smart reply, her wet heat met the tip of his cock as she lined him up against her entrance.
“Fucking hell.” Sebastian exhaled slowly, his jaw and eyes clenched tight as he welcomed the feeling of her warmth stretching around him. She seemed to be moving at a glacial pace as she eased herself downward.
“God, Sebastian,” Emmeline breathed. She had to still herself for a moment, her open palms resting against his bare chest as she stretched to accommodate him. She rocked backward slightly to straighten upward, the tiny movement forcing Sebastian to swallow.
“I love you,” he blurted out. If it hadn’t been for the absolute ecstasy currently coursing through his cock, he would have Avada Kedavra’d himself on the spot. Leave it up to him to say something so utterly stupid during the most exciting moment of his life.
Emmeline paused, her eyes wide with disbelief as her gaze met Sebastian’s.
“Really?” she asked.
There was no going back now. “Of course,” Sebastian replied, annoyed at himself for provoking a life-altering conversation mid-sex. “Hasn’t exactly been a secret these past few years.”
“Oh.” Emmeline held her position, stunned at the revelation, though the feeling of Sebastian lingering inside her was difficult to ignore for long. “Well, I love you too,” she finally said. “But given how I covered up a murder for you, stuck by you for two years and threw myself at you tonight, that shouldn’t be a secret either.”
“...Oh. Well when you put it that way…”
“Yeah.”
“Guess I should have told you then, huh?”
“Would’ve saved us both a lot of trouble, it seems.”
“Sure would have.”
“Hey, Sebastian?”
“Yeah?”
“Can we have this conversation later? As thrilled as I am to hear you finally confess your love for me, I’m going to spontaneously combust if you don’t shut up and fuck me.”
“Oh. Right.”
They shared a quiet laugh, but Emmeline’s eyes quickly darkened as her thoughts returned to a sinful state, the feeling of Sebastian’s tip pressing against the soft flesh inside her.
She moved slowly at first, rocking her hips up and down to ensure she’d found the spot. The moan that fell from her lips confirmed it, and Sebastian’s grip remained rigid on the flesh of her hip bones as if it were steadying him.
In truth, he was desperately fighting his own body’s response to the euphoric feeling Emmeline was creating for him.
“Feels so good,” she panted as her pace quickened. Her eyes fluttered shut so she could focus on the sensations, which were building an inevitable wave of pleasure in her walls.
Sebastian could feel her wetness pooling at the base of his cock, her slick cunt gripping his shaft as she moved up and down. He wanted to move more, to show her how capable he was in the bedroom, but he was fearful he’d fuck himself into an embarrassing moment. He wanted to prove to her he was worthy of this privilege.
As Emmeline lifted herself upward again, Sebastian forced his own hips upward, evoking a surprised moan from her. He slammed himself inside her again, causing her to hover over him so that he could control their movements. He fucked her with determination, his cock railing against the spot that threatened to unravel her.
She could feel it building, sensed it ballooning in the form of a tiny twitch that would soon erupt into a full convulsion. “Don’t stop,” she begged through ragged breaths, her head tossed backward as the force of Sebastian’s thrusts made her breasts bounce.
“Sebastian, I’m going to-” She couldn’t complete the sentence as she heaved a cry, all of her weight settling down as she collapsed around Sebastian’s cock, her orgasm pulsating around him.
The sensation was new territory for Sebastian, her walls beckoning him with their quaking until a familiar throbbing coursed through his cock.
He released himself inside her with a grunt, the sensation prolonged as she continued to bounce on him to ensure they both were fucked to completion. When he had no more to spill, Emmeline stopped, her full weight still on top of him as she recovered.
“Bloody hell,” Sebastian breathed as the room returned to focus, the moonlight shifting from blurred lines to a sharp focus that shined a spotlight on Emmeline’s body still perched on top of him.
“All right?” Emmeline asked, her chest rising and falling as she panted.
“Never better.”
Emmeline managed to breathe a laugh before she climbed off of Sebastian, returning to her sleeping spot next to him.
Sebastian pulled her close so that he could appreciate the feeling of her sweaty skin, sticky yet warm.
“We should have girls’ night more often,” he mumbled happily.
In the living room beneath them, Anne pulled a blanket around herself, smiling as she drifted off to sleep.

But you still only have eyes for one person since you arrived. However, a boy has started flirting with you and talking to you more and more often. His name is Spencer Rooks. Spencer is the captain of the Hufflepuff quidditch team, also in 7th year. His soft blue eyes, freckles and blond messy hair could make anyone feel flustered around him. But he only has his eyes on you and the person you like took notice of that. Today, Spencer passed you a note to meet him after class. You chose to accept his offer and listen what he had to say to you. Someone seems to not be too pleased by that... (pre-relashionship)

THEIR REACTION:
Sebastian:
Oh he's pissed. You're his! Well...not yet but you are his! He tolerated Spencer's flirting for way too long. He has to intervene.
"Spencer, leave her alone. Can't you see Y/N is not interested?"
All means are good if it makes him leave you alone. But if Spencer insists too much to talk to you, Sebastian will definitely raise his wand at him. He's not scared to be in detention again.
"Let's leave Y/N. He's not worth you time at all." He takes your hand and leads you somewhere else.
"What a prick! Touching you like that and flirting with you. Trust me, he's not good enough for you."
You ask him if he's jealous and you see him frown.
"I am not jealous, I would just prefer if he didn't exist near you! I-I mean...I know you can take care of yourself but- I just don't like others around you that can't respect you."
He'll cross his arms and will stare into your eyes.
"Next time, tell him you're mine. Tell him you're my girlfriend. And if he tries anything, I won't need my wand to hurt him. Besides, I bet he only likes you because you're Hogwarts hero or something like that...NO! I'm not jealous! I just think you deserve better!"
He will make sure that everyone knows you're his, even if you're not yet in a relationship with him.
He WILL be more affectionate and touchy in public.
He's very possessive and will remind you that you both were best friends before you saved Hogwarts and the wizzarding world in general.
"I liked and still like you for you, don't fall for guys like Spencer who only notice you for what you did. He's an opportunist! And you deserve someone who can see how wonderful you are."
Ominis:
Now he is more discreet about his feelings for you and how he handles jealousy. But when Spencer asked you to meet him after class, Ominis couldn't let that happen. He realises he was too slow to be the first to ask you out and he had to do something...quickly.
"Y/N, is that true that you planned to meet Spencer after class? Well...I advice you to reconsider. He does not seem like a very proper gentleman."
You ask him if he's jealous. You see his cheeks redden.
"Jealous? Why should I be jealous Y/N? You obviously are too good for him. And he does not seem like the type of individual you would be into...isn't he?"
He is worried you are into another boy but he tries to keep his composure.
"I heard a few people gossiping about him. Apparently, he has a new girlfriend every month. You deserve to feel special Y/N."
This might be the first time he pays attention to meaningless gossips. But he just has to convince you not to give Spencer a chance.
"Besides, I might need your help after class to prepare myself for our next potion exam. My concoctions are still utter rubbish and you seem to be the only one who actually make me improve my skills."
Any reason is a good reason if it makes you stay away from the Hufflepuff.
He will sit next to you in every class to make everyone understand you are with him, even if you're not his girlfriend yet...
He will frown everytime he hears you talking to another guy. And if Spencer dares to speak to you, he will drag you away and find an excuse to justify it.
"I hope he was not bothering you. I can make the Headmater expel him if he tries anything inappropriate. Just tell me if anything happens."
He didn't mind boys talking to you but when Spencer got a little to close to you for his liking, he became a bit more protective of you. He doesn't want to let that happen again.
Garreth:
He is not usually the jealous type because he knows you're not interested by the other boys/girls who are flirting with you on a daily basis. But Spencer seemed to have your attention for some reason... And when Garreth is jealous, he is not very classy about it.
"What is going on with Spencer and you? I heard you two whispering during class. Since when the both of you are that close?"
You explain to him you planned to meet up with Spencer after class because he had something to tell you. You hear the red-haired boy scoff.
"I bet he'll confess to you...that idiot. Hum...please tell me you don't reciprocate his feelings?"
He'll try to invite you somewhere else so you don't join Spencer after class. He thinks he is being sneaky about it.
"Please I can't find those ingredients without you, it's very urgent matters! Screw Spencer! Besides, you'd rather spend time with me than him...right?"
You're making the poor boy anxious. He is scared you might find Spencer better than him.
"I can also play quidditch you know? And I bet Spencer is not a talented potionist like I am! I'm just saying..."
You ask him if he's maybe...jealous? He left you no time to finish your last word that he quickly retorts.
"Me? Jealous? Please Y/N, you can't be serious. Why would I be jealous? We're...friends... and he is just some guy. I simply don't want you to shift your attention on him and forget about me, alright?"
You try to reassure him with some light-hearted teasing that he was your favorite flirt and that you couldn't possibly forget about him, even if you tried.
"Well...now I know. Could you maybe repeat the part where you said you could never forget me?"
Amit:
He is really not the jealous type because he understands why and how popular you became. But when he is jealous, he does not dare to talk about it to not seem possessive or selfish. But the way Spencer acts around you doesn't sit right with him...
"Y/N? I hope you don't mind if I bring up a rather...private subject. It's about you and Spencer. I noticed you two during class... Are you perhaps- please stop me if you do not feel comfortable sharing- b-but are you two...together?"
You ask him if he's just curious or maybe... jealous? You see him stiffen at your question.
"J-Jealous? I'm really not! I swear! I just think he might not be the right fit for you... You deserve someone who sees you for who you really are; the shiniest star in the sky. Nothing less..."
You reassure him by certifying that you were not in a relationship with Spencer. You then explain he just asked you to meet you up after class to tell you something. You see Amit slightly frown.
"I...I don't think you should meet with him."
He then instantly apologizes. His facial expression is a mix between confusion and fear. He's torn between telling you not to go or let you do what you want...
Out of the blue, he gently grabs your hand.
"What if I said I also... wanted to see you? Who would you choose?"
You can't help but let out a small chuckle. Of course you would choose Amit over him...over anyone actually. But he is so cute when he is jealous. But you finally give in to his request.
"R-really? You'd rather be with me? Then let's go to Honeydukes after class! I could also let you try the new lense of my telescope!"
Seeing him compete for you attention definitely made you feel really hot... He is so adorable.
Poppy:
She is way too obvious when she is jealous. She just can't hide it. This Spencer boy is seriously getting on her nerves...Why can't he just leave you alone? She's the only one who has the right to be glued to Y/N!
"Hum...Y/N...Are you and Spencer a thing? Because he seems really interested and you don't seem to mind it. I-I'm just curious, that's all! You know you can tell me anything."
She looks nervous and you can see it. She is twisting a strand of her hair between her fingers.
You tell her that Spencer actually asked you to meet him after class. Seeing the look on Poppy's face, you might have actually thought she saw a ghost. She was petrified.
"M-Meet him after class? Does he like you? Do you think he'll confess? Oh Merlin... Do you like this guy?"
She bombards you with questions. You're trying your best to reassure her but she doesn't seem to focus on what you're saying. You then take her hands into yours to calm her down.
"I-I'm sorry. But, as your friend... of course... I am just worried this guy is just not any good for you at all. He doesn't seem like the type to treat you right or anything. And you're worth so much better!"
"And who do I deserve then Poppy?" You asked with a playful giggle. You like to see her all flustered. It was so cute.
"W-Well...maybe someone who like you before all the stuff that happened during 5th year...A-Anyway! It's not about that, we are talking about Spencer here!"
She pouts at your light teasing. She is so terribly obvious about how she feels.
You have to reassure her and tell her that you don't feel anything for the Hufflepuff boy. She lets out a big sigh of relief.
"Good...So...does that mean you're free after class? Wanna do something with me?"
Natty:
Now Natty is very mature and can handle her jealousy very well...that's what she thought until Spencer grew a little too close to you. She usually doesn't mind your multiple admirers but this time it felt different. She has to do something...
"Y/N, I was wondering... Spencer seems quite persistent. Maybe you need help to tell him off?"
You explain to Natty he actually became a good friend and that he wanted to talk to you after class. She keeps a neutral face, not wanting her emotions to get the best of her.
"That is good to hear. I wonder what he has to say to you."
Natty knew exactly what Spencer wanted to talk to you about. But she felt selfish... She was biting her tongue to not say anything more.
"I hope he is not in love with you Y/N. I heard he was quite a flirtatious guys and that he treated his ex-girlfriends very poorly... Yes those are gossips but sometimes they are right! Well...maybe he is just pretending to be nice to you for now, you know how boys are."
She would let you meet Spencer after school but she would overthink about what your response to his confession would be.
"So? What did he say? Tell me everything!" She was trying to keep a smile on her face but she was really really anxious.
As you explained to her, you see her gently relaxing her shoulders. You don't share the same feelings as Spencer, to her delight.
"That's good. He was not right for you anyway." You then dare to ask her why she was so happy you didn't reciprocated his feelings. She was taken aback.
"P-please don't think I was jealous. I just know you well enough to assume he was not your type at all. You deserve someone who will treat you like a princess."
She has never been more relieved you rejected someone. She will keep a close eye on you the next time someone talks to you. She can't let that happen again.
Imelda:
When she is jealous, she usually just bullies you. She hates to see you with other people no matter who they are. So, you can be certain that she cannot stand Spencer being all flirty and chatty with you.
"He just can't leave you alone, can he? Always trying to get your attention. It's so pathetic. Don't give him the time of the day, he's a twat."
You tell her that Spencer asked you to meet him after class. You see her almost explode of rage in front of your very eyes.
"What the f*ck? Who does he think he is? I mean, please let him embarrass himself, I know he doesn't stand a chance...right? Don't tell me you like him? Oh good...not that I care or anything, you do you."
You ask her if she's jealous. She lets out the meanest laugh you've ever heard. Ouch...
"Me? Jealous of him? I can prove it to you that I am, in fact, better than him. I'm also a MUCH better quidditch player. Just saying... Don't look at me like that! I'm not jealous! Just stop hanging out with him, that's all!"
She might sound agressive but she really just needs to be reassured.
"And you promised me to be there at every one of my quidditch practices. And if he doesn't like it, I'm not afraid to punch him in the throat and break his precious broom."
You notice how agitated she is by the fact that Spencer might like you. You say nothing to preserve peace but...how cute it was that she wanted to fight someone for you.
"Forget about him. You deserve a much better contenders for your love. You also deserves someone that is as good as me on a broom. Spencer is way too slow. Why are you smiling at me like that? What did I say?"
She'll make sure you only look at her during practice and during other classes. She'll make sure to remind you that she is the best person to hang out with you.
Leander:
Now he will go about it the hard way to keep people who are interested in you away. He usually straight up lies and tells everyone you are actually his girlfriend so nobody will flirt with you. But Spencer just directly asked you...not fair. He has to do something about it... and now.
"What? He asked you to meet him after class? Well...just don't go? Or tell him you have a boyfriend? Oh come on, it's just a little white lie."
He tries to convince you not to go. But you still want to hear what Spencer has to say.
"Okay but only if I go with you. I can't leave you alone with that creep. Do we have a deal?"
When you wait for Spencer after class, Leander was waiting with you. Leander just couldn't hold back the urge to mark his territory and show that you were his...not officially but in his mind your were his.
"So, please tell us what you wanted to say. Don't be shy."
Leander is touching VERY inappropriately while Spencer tries to speak. He runs his hands down your back, around your shoulders and…on your hips.
You want to stop it but you can't. You...like it. It makes you feel all nervous and you feel your cheeks redden.
At the end, the poor Spencer just gave up and excused himself from the conversation.
"I think he got the message. You're not interested by him and you'll never be. I was helpful, see? "
You scold him gently, telling him how innapropriate that was. He just smirks and chuckles at you. He's so childish...
"Oh don't pretend you didn't like it Y/N. Maybe I should do it more often, that seems to keep the others away."
You stroked his ego unintentionally.
But...what if...nobody stopped you from going?
Spencer:
He waits for you after class. He looks so nonchalent, you almost refuse to think he might confess to you.
"You came! What a relief. I just wanted to tell you that...I know that we've not been friends for long but...hum...I like you. I almost lost my last quidditch match because you were the only thing on my mind."
You were just speechless. Your face was burning up and your cheeks were red. He took notice of that.
"Sorry, I just blurted it out but I'm really serious. I like you Y/N. And if you just let me one chance to prove that I'm worthy of your affection, you won't regret it! Does it sound too corny? I just really like you sorry, I'm letting my heart speak for me right now."
The Hufflepuff's face was also red. He looks so sincere. His blue eyes staring right into yours.
"Do you need time to think about it? I can give you some space. I just... I would give you the world if you ask me to. You're just...so wonderful. But I'll give you the time you want to think about it! Or maybe we could go on a date? Just to make sure I'm your type."
He lets out tiny nervous chuckles as he speaks. He is a blushing mess and he is trying his hardest to speak clearly and not be overwhelmed by his emtions.
Will you give him a chance?

Fic where insecure!reader who strives for perfection keeps accepting other people's requests at the expense of her health and Sebastian is left to follow her around everywhere because he's concerned and worried half to death, lol.
Wordcount: 4,874
Warnings: none. Just tooth-rotting fluff and a very stressed out Seb.
(this is my first ever fanfic pls be nice...I do appreciate any constructive criticism tho- and I'm also in the process of writing a few others, i alr have a crap ton of drafts so stick around if u happen to like this one! ☺️)
Sebastian noticed a gradual shift in your once-lively demeanor.
Your usual sunny disposition, which seemed to consistently lift the spirits of those around you, was now tinged with a growing exhaustion of some sort.
The usual bounce in your step was replaced by a slightly slower, lagging stride, and your typical bright smile that could instantly push away any dreariness out of a room was now feeling subtly gloomier.
The changes were miniscule at most, but Sebastian pondered internally that, had he not been watching you so closely, he would've otherwise thought nothing was amiss.
Even your conversations had become disheartening, as his recent attempts had only been met with a sense of detachment.
... He had grown to long for your usual, easy flow of banter and witty remarks.
Despite Sebastian's best efforts to keep your exchanges the same, that had only served to make it feel even more forced and one-sided as he observed you in classes, your gaze seeming to frequently be unfocused and your mind, lacking of any coherent thought.
At first, Sebastian dismissed the changes as nothing out of the ordinary, as everyone had all been preparing for the approaching N.E.W.T.'s exams.
He simply reasoned that similar signs of fatigue could be observed in his fellow sixth-years, attributing to the stress that comes with these events.
----
As morning brightness streamed through the Transfiguration's classroom windows, You, Poppy and Natty sat side by side, engaged in silent contemplation, having an almost unspoken agreement on not to converse as the looming threat of exams has all but drained you three completely.
Mrs. Weasley's rather authoritive voice encompassed the otherwise silent space.
Though most of her words seemed to lack any coherence as you actively fought the sleep taking over your slumped form.
You hadn't even realised when the exhaustion had won your silent battle but you're quickly awakened by Poppy's warm palm on your shoulder, fluttering your eyes open to be met with her concerned gaze
"Are you okay?"
The hufflepuff noted the unusual darkness circling your undereye, peering behind you to share a troubled expression with Natty.
"I'm fine, no worries."
You quickly dismissed her and shook your head enthusiastically, ignoring how the action had all but made the room spin.
Natty's worried voice spoke up from behind you,
"Are you sure? It is not like you to fall asleep, and during class hours no less." she insisted.
"I assure you both, I'm feeling quite alright."
You piped, rather frantically and curse at the slight waver in your voice, certain that both girls had noticed it.
You straightened your shoulders from it's slouched position, as if to further prove your point.
Natty's scrutinizing gaze made it clear that the feeble attempt hadn't convinced her, however.
The minutes ticked by slowly, each of them feeling like an eternity.
The class seemed to last significantly longer than usual, further adding to your mild frustration.
However, your clouded thinking, or rather lack thereof, was eventually interrupted by the booming voice of Mrs. Weasley..
"Now, I would like all of you to repeat after me, AH-viss."
Her command was followed soon after by echoed choruses of the incantation from the class.
"Very well. Now, Kindly try it for yourself. Do remember the meticulous 'M' movement, lest you find the idea of being faced with countless squawking, flightless creatures compelling."
She grimaced as though an unsavoury memory flashed in her mind, before shortly replacing it with her usual assuring smile.
Even without paying close attention, you heard enough to know that the spell's purpose was to conjure several, flying medium sized birds.
You Steadily pulled out your wand, and point it upwards, you steel yourself... then tensed.
Pausing for a moment, you rack your brain to recall the incantation.
Just as your worries began to mount, Poppy's clear words suddenly piped from beside you, looking over you see her apprehensively whipping her wand
"Avis!"
Despite the timid attempt at casting, her incantation rang out with such clarity that you questioned briefly if she had noticed your silent struggle.
You silently thanked her eitherway, and with a steadied hand, you took a small breath before casting,
"Avis!"
With a swift flick of your wand, a loud boom reverberated through the air, like a shot from a gun.
As the smoke cleared, your gaze settled on the small, twittering bird now infront of you.
It's wings fluttered clumsily as it heaved it's body afloat with visible effort.
Looking to your right you see Natty with her assortment of conjured birds swiftly circling around her head - a stark contrast to your own haphazardly flying bird.
It was clear that was how the spell was supposed to work, an array of birds instead of the lone creature you had conjured.
Natty directed her gaze towards you as her eyes flicked down and noticed your meager creation.
She tilted her head to examine your chubby aviary.
Her expression turned visibly worried as she noted the sorry state of your conjured bird.
She knew that, normally, your class performance was held to a high standard, often even rivalling her own.
However, observing the stuttered beating of your bird's wing only deepened her concern further.
When class had finally ended, you wasted no time in quickly pushing yourself off your seat and striding out the door, knowingly avoiding your friends' impending interrogation.
You slipped out into the hall, and maneuvered around the sea of students with practiced agility.
As you strode down the corridor, you were keenly aware of the presence of Poppy and Natty trailing behind you, their footsteps growing nearer with each passing moment.
This thought had only caused you to hasten your hurried pace.
Quickly rounding a corner your forehead slams against someone's firm chest.
Two calloused hands perched itself onto your shoulders to help keep you steady, the familiar scent of books and pine fills your senses.
As you look up to confirm your suspicions  you see that it's none other than the subject to most of your budding affections since the past year.
Sebastian's shocked expression shifts into one of fondness as he realises that it's you.
He then presents you with his usual charming grin.
Sensing your distress shortly after though, his face drops, and his warm hand tightens it's hold against your shoulder blades.
"You alright? You look like you've just sprinted through an angry horde of diricawls."
He masks his growing concern with humour in attempt to alleviate your tension and he can't help but crack a small smile as he feels you relax under his palm.
"Merlin, why does everybody keep asking me that.."
You groan loudly infront of the boy, and he rolls his eyes in response, smiling fondly.
"I don't know, It might  be because you more or less resemble a pesky raccoon with how dark your undereyes have gotten."
"Oh, bugger off, will you?"
You merely huff out indignantly and cross your arms in response.
The action only serves to make him laugh, his boyish charm radiating off of his echoed laugher, and you unconsciously melt against his hold.
Sebastian's laughter fades as his gaze dropped back to study you intently, causing you to squirm subtly under the intensity of his stare.
His amusement quickly gave way to concern as he asked with more seriousness, his tone softer than before,
"No, but seriously, you've been looking a bit worse for wear these past few days. Are you sure you're feeling alright?"
"Been keeping a close eye on me, have you?"
You chimed, your lips tugging upwards into a slight smirk before you could stop yourself.
Sebastian merely quirks an eyebrow at your insinuation, and you shift uncomfortably under him when his signature charming grin slowly made it's way onto his face.
He had to admit that he missed your rather flirty  banter and snarky remarks
(Not sure if you ever meant to make it seem that way, but he liked to think you did.)
Sebastian's voice came out casual and nonchalant, almost playful, as he continued,
"Despite your usual, slow judgement, I can see you know. Besides, who could possibly resist keeping their eyes on you? "
His words were spoken casually, yet held a hint of flirtation, a slight jab at your obliviousness to his observation.
Before you could even question what he meant, Poppy's voice rings throughout the hall calling out your name, making you look over your shoulder to see her and Natty steadily closing the distance between the four of you.
Without sparing the boy a reply you swiftly duck against Sebastian's hold and hurriedly jog away from his tall frame.
Not looking back, you beeline to your next class and silently pray that nobody else bombards you with the same queries and worried glances that had been plaguing you all morning.
Sebastian was left to stand alone, shock evident on his face as his arms are left frozen midair where it had once been grasping your slender shoulders, his form unmoving and mind still reeling from your abrupt departure.
Snapping out of his daze, his head snapped from your steadily distancing frame to your friends' approaching figures.
Both girls had finally managed to reach him, and the duo were left slightly breathless.
Sebastian, being the ever courteous lad that he was, waited patiently for the two to gather their bearings before shooting each of them a questioning look.
"That girl does not know when to take a break!"
Natty heaved slightly panting, whereas Poppy slumped over herself from beside Natty, her hands perched on her own chest as visible distress plastered itself on her usual calm and serene face.
"She's been performing quite poorly in class and has even been dozing off. 'Suspect she's exhausted.."
Poppy said, frowning and continued
"It's nothing outrageous for a student of course, especially now during N.E.W.T's... But you  know better than anyone how she normally is, Sebastian. She'd sooner lick the floor rather than let her grades drop.."
She mused worriedly.
Sebastian did, in fact know better than anyone that you would strive for the best grades you could possibly get, seeming to brighten with the validation you received from professor's whenever you performed particularly well in classes.
He couldn't help but sink deeper into concern when he realised that at this point, it wasn't just him who noticed your peculiar behaviour.
He worried what kind of predicament weighed your otherwise steadfast bright and energetic demeanour and cause it to dimmer significantly.
---
This tiring game of cat and mouse continue as the trio fight tooth and nail to try and drag you into resting.
And as another day passes by, more of your mutual friends start picking up on your recent oddities.
Garreth confessed that while he usually did respect you dearly, he couldn't resist the fits of laughter bubbling from his chest at the sight of you, covered in black soot.
You were brewing a batch of Wiggenwald and it all but exploded into your face.
The dark substance had coated your normally otherwise pristine and spotless skin.
After a while even Ominis, despite lacking the significant bodily sensation of sight, managed to notice your tired energy contrasting the usual sunny girl he's come to know.
Everyone tries everything they can to make you rest, but for someone who possesses a considerably fragile disposition you owned a rather steel hard stubbornness
(Much to your friends displeasure).
Normally, Sebastian would think this trait of yours quite endearing, but these days between everyone including him trying to force you to rest and only having you huffing and rejecting is just proving to irk him more and more.
You've been trying to ignore the dizzying sensations badgering you in random hours the entirety of the day.
Afternoon arrives and you're walking with Sebastian and Ominis towards the Potions wing.
Striding rather abruptly, your vision blurs in an instant and the room starts spinning, stumbling slightly you steady yourself in a frenzy and attempt to mask the growing throbbing of your head, hoping to Merlin that both boys had failed to notice.
Purposely avoiding their line of gaze you hurriedly continue to walk forward, missing the deep scowl now etched onto Sebastian's lip and Ominis' visible agitation, the latter's wand pulsing a radiant red.
***
As Sebastian spots you in the hall the next day, you seemed to look worse than ever before, skin ghastly pale and your usual vibrant face lacking any of it's normal vigor.
You looked ready to pass out at any given moment, before he could stop himself he followed you out of heavy concern, purposely sticking to you at a safe distance, intent and ready to catch you when you inevitably fainted before you had the chance to even hit the floor.
He trailed behind your form as quietly as he could (though he doubted there was any use in that since you looked as if your mind held no coherent thought whatsoever.)
You turned a corner and he stalked silently over to the wall to peek his head out.
Taking in the view just in time to see a Hufflepuff walking over to greet you, stopping abruptly and leaning his back against the wall he hears the girl say
"I'm Adelaide Oakes, you're that sixth year everyone's been talking about since last July aren't you? I've heard about your... endeavours  through countless others and I've been hoping to get some time alone with you..."
Sensing where this was going Sebastian leans forward to hear better into the conversation, hoping, praying that you wouldn't even entertain the idea on accepting whatever this girl was going to ask of you.
The aforementioned said something about suspecting her dear uncle had gotten himself in a band of goblin's bad favours, and she continued by expressing the worry it had all caused her for the past week.
Sebastian mentally cursed as he saw your tired eyes softening at the troubled girl's words, knowing full well that you were going to accept the moment the girl finished talking.
Sebastian suspected you were planning to sneak out the moment classes were over, and his mind was already whirling with ideas on how to prevent you from doing so.
With your last class of the day being Arithmancy, Sebastian had already decided that he would intercept you the second you stepped out of the classroom, determined to stop you from carrying out your plan.
As the Slytherin made his way towards his next class, his thoughts drifted off, and he couldn't help but mull over why you seemed to be so willing to help someone else in such a state.
Sauntering along, he found himself puzzling over your decision.
He arrived at his designated seat in class and settled down, resting his chin on his palm as his brows scrunched together in thought.
Sebastian found himself lost in contemplation, mentally tuning out Professor Weasley's lecture.
Sebastian reached his conclusion as the class continued, realizing that your willingness to help stemmed from your ridiculously kind nature.
He thought that you simply couldn't bear the thought of saying no to anyone, and he silently lamented this thought throughout the remainder of the class.
***
But of course, something just had to go wrong.
The second Professor Weasley dismissed Transfiguration classes, Sebastian bolted upright and ran straight through the door before most had even gotten the chance to take a few steps from their desks.
'Why does the castle's halls have to be so darn crowded this particular time of day?'
Sebastian thought bitterly to himself,  shoving his way into the cramped cluster of students.
Reaching his destination infront of the open classroom door, Sebastian cursed again, his eyes darting from side to side as he scanned the room, desperately searching the area for any sign of you.
Spinning quickly, he anxiously scoured the corridor, but you remained nowhere to be seen.
After glumly kicking the nearby doorframe, Sebastian stalked away with a deep frown, opting to wait for your return instead.
He overheard the general direction the girl had pointed you in and thought you would most likely enter through the north exit, passing by a grandfather clock, he noted the time:
5:30 in the afternoon.
With a huff, he sat himself down in front of the giant double doors, stilling as he prepared to wait for your return, ready to tend to you the moment you entered.
----
Weakly striding up the Hogwarts ground's north entrance you reached a hand up to push open the heavy, double door.
The sun peeked out of the horizon, steadily rising as some birds started to chirp, all while the cold morning air nipped against your flushed cheeks, Your palm perched on your forehead as a deep gash on your shoulder prevented you on making use of both hands.
Trudging upwards, you swayed under the dizziness and fatigue.
Besides the crimson slice across your upper arm, your body was littered with bruises and other minor injuries, your mind, foggy.
Wondering how you'd even managed to escape alive and rescue Adelaide's uncle considering your already pitiful state - you had no idea.
Pushing open the large entrance, you stepped inside, your head throbbed painfully as the heavy door slammed shut with a deafening thud.
----
Sebastian's slouched form jerked awake from the echoing sound of the door closing.
Rubbing his eyes, his vision focused on the figure now standing at the entryway.
Hastily standing up to squint at the figure, he's greeted by a clear view of your disheveled appearance infront of him.
Sebastian observed you taking a few steps forward, and he slowly started to stride towards you.
You seemed to be in such a daze that you failed to have even noticed his approaching presence.
Sebastian's concern escalates as he watches you waver and wobble on your feet.
Unconsciously, he transitions his stride into a jog, and then a sprint, quickly closing the distance between you- just in time to catch you right before your body collapsed, preventing your unconscious form from hitting the cold marble floor.
***
Waking up to the view of the hospital wing's pristine white ceiling you gingerly blink a few more times in attempt to try and refocus your vision.
Turning your head to the side, you're greeted with Sebastian's slouched form sitting on a stool beside you. Dark circles encompassed his undereye and his  hair seemed to be messier than usual.
He seemed to be in deep thought, both elbows on his knees and chin resting on his palm, brows furrowed while he chewed on his bottom lip, staring intensely at a corner of the room.
His gaze wandered until it locked with yours, without warning he swiftly straightened his body and clutched your unmoving hand positioned on your side.
He seemed to be in an internal debate with himself as his mouth closed and opened repeatedly.
Finally, after silently confirming that you seemed to be in a steady enough condition, he yelled loudly, making you visibly flinch in response to the sheer volume and intensity of his voice.
"How could you have been so utterly daft!? You've been out doing who knows what, running around the highlands doing favours while  being in such a state!? Imelda had been going at it in my ear for the better part of the morning reprimanding me for ever letting you get away with all of it in the first place-- And honestly I can't blame her! Merlin , If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were intentionally trying to get yourself killed!"
You were speechless, you had expected some  sort of lecture, but definitely not something that  heated.
You stupidly stared at him with wide eyes paired with a slightly agape mouth, until finally managing to sputter something out.
"I-I'm...sorry...?"
You were surprised at his outburst because you hadn't ever witnessed Sebastian being this emotional, except when it was something that had been related to Anne.
Unbeknownst to you, the sight of your bedridden form, pale complexion, cracked lips, and labored, shallow breaths had all but hit Sebastian with a gut-wrenching familiarity.
He simply couldn't bare the concerning resemblance you momentarily held of his cursed twin, and without thinking, he had lashed out the emotions of his revelation to you.
Letting out a shaky exhale he rested his gaze back onto yours, his eyes round and forehead wrinkled.
"You.... I don't understand. Why on Merlin's name, would you do something so foolish? "
Wincing at the sharp edge in the last word of his question, you averted your gaze, shame washing over you as you instinctively pressed your lips together in a thin, tight line.
"I...I'm sorry, I just, I-.."
Mentally cursing at your pathetic stammering, your face steadily grew hot, and your eyes brimmed with tears.
"u-uhm-...."
Your voice cracked, forcing you to briefly clench your eyes shut to contain the tears threatening to spill over.
Sebastian instantly softened and unconsciously rubbed his thumb over the back of your clutched hand.
"I apologise, I... While I daresay this wasn't an overreaction  on my part, eitherway I'm still sorry."
A few seconds of silence pass before he continues.
"I get that you find it difficult to reject favours... But is it truly  that hard to say no for you?"
Swallowing heavily, you slowly shake your head, denying his prior assumption which, in turn earns you a confused stare from Sebastian.
"...I don't do it because I find it difficult to say no to others."
Pausing, you hesitantly look back at the boy and he replies, slowly.
"Then why..?"
Inhaling a sharp breath you continue,
"I do it to feel  like I'm a better person than I actually am.. I'm just constantly worried about what others think of me. This image of being the almighty 'Hero of Hogwarts'  It's...It's like a shadow that follows me everywhere, and... I'm scared of the day when everyone realises that I'm really... nobody special."
"Bollocks."
Sebastian firmly speaks out, making you stare at him with wide eyes.
Brief silence envelopes you both, the slytherin pauses to sigh deeply before looking at you with furrowed brows paired with wide, round eyes before giving your hand another gentle squeeze.
"Where on earth have you been getting these ideas?"
He asks, before his expression of gentle concern shifts to one of anger
"Has someone been planting these absurdities into your head??"
Hastily, you shake your head and it takes a moment for Sebastian to recollect himself before directing an incredulous stare at you.
(as if it was hard for him to comprehend that you could even think you weren't deserving of your reputation and title.)
Because truthfully, he thought you  of all people deserved it most, and he would sooner dive fifty meters off the edge of a cliff before letting you think differently.
He rubs his thumb over the back of your palm again before raising his unoccupied hand onto your upper arm and slowly sliding it onto your shoulder.
"You're absolutely unreal. I mean, the least you could do to appear more human is to grow an insufferably large ego- to match all the things you've managed to do. I mean, of all the thick-headed prats I know... none of them could even begin to compare with all the things you've accomplished."
Suddenly, the room feels considerably warmer, the thick hospital blanket draped down your lower body suddenly becoming more unbearable as the seconds ticked by, you're avoiding Sebastian's gaze as he addresses you with the utmost gentleness you've ever heard someone speak.
"....Think about it, you started late into hogwarts-- fifth year, where OWL's and every heavy workload starts piling up when you were running behind in five years worth of education."
"-And yet you managed to pass through considerably one of the hardest exams in hogwarts being only second to N.E.W.T's in difficulty- and all the while fighting trolls, poachers, goblins and ashwinders and who knows what every other day like they were child's play, WITH your limited duelling knowledge."
Sebastian retracts his hand from your shoulder and launches it onto his messy hair, pushing the strands back with his fingers before abruptly leaning his head back to let out an unbashed laugh and dropping it back down to lock eyes with you.
"Bloody hell, don't even get me started on your duelling. I mean, you managed to beat me! Reigning duelling champion with Levioso! A damn first-year level levitation charm! On your first day, no less!"
The brunette scoffed and rolled his eyes as you giggle, feigning annoyance while he secretly feels himself melt at the sound.
"Yeah, you're probably feeling quite pleased with yourself now, aren't you?"
His scowl gradually faded into an endearing smile as he gazed back at you.
"Good."
Your laughter falters as you're caught off guard by the look of fondness his gaze held as he stared at you.
He continues his verbal tirade, but this time he looks to the side, opposite of you, unable to meet your gaze as he blurts out the last of his confession.
"I don't know how you ever came to the conclusion that you're somehow undeserving of everything you've rightfully earned. Well, I'll even go as far as disagree and say that you deserve more... But- that's not the point"
He falters for a brief moment, stuttering slightly as his ears flush a delicate shade of red, and you can't help but bite your lip, suppressing a giggle at the sight.
He inhales sharply, before continuing speaking, his tone filled with conviction.
"But... I know you better than anyone else. And I can say this with absolute certainty, you are far from a nobody. You're strong... kind,- and one of the bravest people I know. You may not see it, but trust me, you're anything but insignificant."
Your breath catches in your throat as he slowly turns his head back to look at you .
Silence hangs in the air as the two of you lock eyes for a while.
You take a deep breath and summon your courage, raising your free hand, you gently rest it on his, the one that's grasping your own.
His eyes follow the movement closely, then he snaps his gaze back to your face. A demure smile graces your lips, unknowingly making his heart stutter at the sight.
Then, you give his hand a firm, reassuring squeeze, and he swears he felt his soul ascend for a brief second.
Your shared little moment is quickly dissolved as the hospital wing's doors slam open, the familiar view of your friend group marching in.
Instinctively, you tug both your hands out of his grasp, momentarily pulling your conjoined hands, and in turn, Sebastian- forward from the sudden action.
Imelda's familiar rumbustious voice fills the quiet room. "Nice of you to rejoin the land of the living."
She announces, whereas Poppy quickly makes her way over to your side, opposite of where Sebastian was situated.
"Does your head hurt?-" Not giving you any time to reply, she hastily grabs both your shoulders.
"Your shoulders are so tense- I'll ask Nurse Blainey to prepare you a calming draught right after this."
She coos, before swiftly raising a hand over to your forehead.
"Oh my, you're heating up...Your face is unbelievably red- Oh, poor you-"
"Merlin, let the girl breathe Poppy." Imelda barks out a laugh from the foot of your mattress.
You manage to flash a weak smile to the worried hufflepuff before she reluctantly leans back and steps away from your bed.
Sneaking a quick glance back over to Sebastian, you're greeted with the view of him unmistakably pouting, his hand left on the spot ontop of your bed where you had pulled away from him.
Your train of thought is interrupted by the sound of Ominis' musing.
"I can't say we didn't tell you something like this would end up happening if you didn't stop, but you're just as stubborn as our dear Mr. Sallow, here."
Everyone collectively shares a laugh before Natty steps over to your side holding up a pile of parchment.
"It's some of our classwork you missed throughout the day, we all decided to help out in gathering it.... To make sure you wouldn't miss out on any of the lessons."
The girl smiled before putting the assortment of work on your bedside table.
Garreth confesses, effectively causing Natty to rub her neck, and she looks over to you, bashful.
"Thank Natty, She thought about the idea first, she deserves most of the credit."
"Well, I don't share all the same classes with you, so none of this could have been done without everyone's help."
As the group steadily starts talking between themselves, You slowly slide your hand over to Sebastian's, your touch tentative as you shyly maneuver to link your pinky with his, keeping your gaze fixed on your chatting friends.
He's initially caught-off-guard by the gesture but quickly responds by shifting his finger to press gently against yours, his pout transforming into a subtle, tender smile.
In your mind, you made a mental note to talk to Sebastian after your friends left, with the intention of continuing your prior conversation to where it had been left off.

❀ And You Look Fetching in Yellow ❀ // Sebastian Sallow x f!MC
Tumblr media
Summary: Hogwarts couples exchange scarves to signify their intention with each other. Unfortunately for Sebastian, MC is new to the whole magic thing.
It's been weeks since Sebastian had gifted her his scarf. And yet nothing romantic has happened between them.
How was she supposed to know that she had to give him something in return?

"Did you see what the new girl was wearing?"
"Obviously, do I look like I live under a troll's bridge?  The whole school is talking about it!"
Sebastian preened, sitting a bit straighter in his seat.  He had been lounging on a bench with Ominis in the Dark Arts Tower, bored out of his mind.  About ten paces away, a gaggle of 3rd year girls were giggling and loudly whispering amongst themselves.  The student body of Hogwarts never had anything better to do then to guess who started courting who.  Sebastian had never cared much about this (often incorrect) news, having always found it dull.
But it was looking like Hogwarts was just about to get bit more interesting.
"What was she wearing?" one of the shorter girls asked.
"She was wearing a Slytherin scarf!" another whispered conspiratiously as if it was an unspeakable secret.
There were gasps around the group.  The new Hufflepuff student?  Wearing Slytherin's green and silver scarf?  It could only mean one thing.
"Ohhhh, she's seeing from someone from Slytherin."  There was much fervent whispering.
"I bet so many hearts are crushed now.  Someone finally got to her first."
Sebastian couldn't' help but puff out his chest.  Finally, in his time as a 6th year at Hogwarts, the natural order of things were being corrected.  No longer did he have to worry seeing his Hufflepuff in ugly red and yellow.
"Who do you reckon gave it to her?" one of the Ravenclaws bounced on the tip of her toes.
"Well, there's not that many Slytherin boys that she associates herself with."
Sebastian grinned.  He leaned back against the wall, crossing his hands behind his head.  He was constantly next to her side whether that meant on the battlefield or at the library.  His devotion to her had most definitely discouraged any potential suitors who thought they were worthy of wasting her time.  An effortless arm thrown around her shoulder.  His coarse hand tucking a strand of hair behind her ears.  His chin resting on her much shorter head.  Now that the whole school knew that the most amazing girl in all of Hogwarts history was his, Sebastian's worries could finally-
"I heard from someone in Charms that it's Ominis."
Sebastian stilled.  What?
There were squeals of delight.
"Of course!  That makes so much sense! They look so cute together!"
Sebastian scowled.  No they didn't.
"Awww, I'm so happy for them.  I bet he swept her off her feet!"
"It's the eyes isn't it?  All the Gaunt kids have those gorgeous eyes."
In Sebastian's personal opinion, blue eyes were incredibly overrated.
"That makes so much sense!  They're always in the library studying together."
One of their voices took a cheekily tone.  "Studying?  Is that what the kids are calling it now a days?"
Yes, Ominis and his Hufflepuff were always studying together, only because Sebastian invited both of his best friends to his study session.
The group of girls all squealed bouncing up and down like a group of Puffskeins.  They were loud and annoying enough that Professor Hecat had opened the doors to her classroom.  With heavy scolding, the professor shooed them outside, to spread their gossip elsewhere in the castle no doubt.
Sebastian felt as though he took a troll club to the head. That was his green scarf around his Hufflepuff.  It was Sebastian's scarf that she was wearing every day.  Not Garret's.  Not Natty's. Not even Ominis's.  It was Sebastian's.  Turning to stare at his best friend, he was startled to find that Ominis was still engrossed in his book.  The other boy looked completely at ease, as if Sebastian's entire life hadn't been entirely upended.
"What," Sebastian spat through gritted teeth, "in Merlin's name, was that all about?"
·͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙
The hero of Hogwarts laid on her back like a starfish on the grounds of the Transfiguration courtyard.  Having successfully commandeered a quiet corner of the courtyard with Natty and Poppy, she tried her best to relax between classes.  Poppy was playing with Gerald.  Natty attempted hastily to finish her astronomy homework before the next toll of the bell.  The ancient magic user scowled at the bright blue cloudless sky as if it personally had cursed her.
She was still wearing Sebastian's scarf.  The new Hufflepuff hadn't taken it off since Sebastian had kindly (or possessively?) wrapped it around her.  His signature bergamot and oak scent was starting to fade.
She had learned quite quickly the ins and outs of courting at Hogwarts thanks to her friends.  Coming from the muggle world, it was dizzyingly confusing all the fake rules that witches and wizards put upon themselves.  She wasn't sure if it was wizard conservatism or teenage boredom that forced the students of Hogwarts to play these stupid courting games.
Wearing another House's colors was a walking advertisement to the rest of Hogwarts that you were officially being pursued by classmate of another House.  The second that a Gryffindor was caught wearing green and silver or a Ravenclaw was caught wearing red the whole school would erupt in commotion and gossip.
In her opinion, the student body of Hogwarts needed to go outside more.  Experience some of the real world for once.
After all it was their coy games that put her in this whole mess.  She thought, as any rational being would, that after a whole year's worth of 'dates', alone, unsupervised, not under the watch of any adult, that something more would come of her relationship with Sebastian.  She had hoped by now she would be wrapped in his strong arms with his green scarf wrapped around the both of them, joining them together.
She had thought wrong.  Instead, it was the still the same Sebastian.  Teasing tone, seductive one-liners, coy looks when he thought she wasn't watching.  He always held her at an arm's length, never getting too close.  Despite all of his flirty comments, he never made a verbal hint that they were anything more than friends.
Ugh, this was all so maddening.  If she had it her way, she would march right up to Sebastian, grab him by the beautiful luscious curls of his, and kiss him silly until he finally got the message through that thick skull of his.
"Why isn't my brilliant plan working?"  She whined as she laid beneath the sky, as if hoping it would give her the answers.
"What plan?"  Natty asked, not looking up from her astronomy homework.  "Your mind has been up in the clouds all day."
She groaned, throwing her arm over her eyes to block out the sun.  "Why hasn't Sebastian made a pass at me yet.  For Merlin's sake, we went to Three Broomsticks and Sirona gave us her Valentine's Day Special.  We shared it, together.  Using one spoon, like a couple."
"Have you considered that Sebastian might think you two are actually exclusive?" Poppy interjected.  "I mean, you're wearing his scarf.  That has to count for something."
The new student groaned.  She started ripping the grass next to her in frustration.  "I don't think we're dating.  At least, I don't think Sebastian Sallow is the type to not snog his girlfriend silly when she drops obvious hints."
Poppy made a show of gagging at the thought of her friends making out.  In retaliation, the other Hufflepuff half-hearted threw some of the plucked grass in Poppy's general direction.  The strands lamely flew everywhere but their intended target.
Natty sighed, brushing the grassy debris from her astronomy chart.  "Honestly, Europe is so behind.  Back at home, things were much simpler.  Girls do not have to wait for the man to ask them to be in a relationship!  Anyone could do the asking!  All of this exchanging of clothes is so silly to me.  What if two people from the same House start dating?  Then what? This makes no sense to me."
Poppy hummed in agreement.  "Dating at Hogwarts does seem like such a headache compared to Uganda, Natty.  But," she squeezed Gerald tightly, "you can't deny how cute it is when you see the couples together wearing each other clothing.  They're so mismatched and adorable."  Poppy paused awkwardly.  "Come to think of it, I've never seen Sebastian wearing even a hint of yellow."
The air stilled.  Both Poppy and Natty turned to stare at their friend who was still in the process of pulling out all of the blades of grass in her vicinity.  It was a long awkward moment before the hero of Hogwarts realized that her two good friends were looking at her, expecting a reaction out of the wallowing girl.
"What?" She asked.
Poppy gave her a pitying look.  "You…you did give Sebastian your scarf right?"
The new student blinked owlishly, her hands stilled in their destructive action.
Natty sighed.  "A hat?  Your tie?  Cufflinks?  Merlin's beard, even your socks would do.  Anything?"
For being a wielder of ancient magic, she sure didn't have a clue as to wizarding culture.  "Um, no?  Was I supposed to?"
Both girls groaned.  Natty shook her head, disappointed in the lack of charisma her friend had.  Poppy looked at her pitifully as if she was the runt of a Niffler litter.
"What?  We're supposed to trade scarves?  Who made up that rule?  Is that why Sebastian hasn't made a move on me?"
"YES!"  The other girls replied, getting fed up with the drama.
"No one told me about this!"
The three girls bickered back and forth, homework now entirely forgotten.  So lost in debate, they missed the Slytherin that was approaching them.
Imelda Reyes, captain of the Slytherin team, stood in front of them, interrupting the trio of girls.  "Oh good, the losers are all gathered together."  She looked rather bored as if she would rather be on the field than here.
Poppy frowned.  Gerald stuck his tongue out at the offending girl.  "Imelda, why do you keep calling your only friends at Hogwarts losers?"
Imelda ignored the remark, flipped her hair behind her shoulders.  "It keeps the fans in line.  Got to remind you lot of your place."
The Slytherin girl turned her sights onto the other Hufflepuff who was still wallowing in the grass in self-pity.  "Anyway, I came to collect on my good deed.  Some token of appreciation would be nice.  Even a thanks would do."
The Hufflepuff sighed.  She pinched her nose in frustration at the annoyance that was Imelda Reyes.  Rolling over to her side, she faced the Slytherin captain.  She propped up her chin on her hand.  Nothing that Imelda ever have to share was interesting.  "Imelda, what is it now?  Why should I be groveling at your feet for this time?"
"You should be thanking me for saving your relationship with Sallow."  Imelda nonchalantly stated.
The new girl spluttered, her chin slipping off of her hand and hitting the ground.  She made a pained noise, rubbing at the growing bruise.  "Excuse me?"
"You heard me."  Imelda inspected her glossy green nails.  "It's painful to see you two fumbling about like Quidditch little league toddlers.  I just gave a gentle nudge in the right direction."
The bottom of her stomach was in free-fall.  Imelda "helping" was never a good thing, despite what the Slytherin believed.  "Imelda, what did you do?"
Imelda grinned.  "Oh, you know, just started a rumor that Ominis was the one who gave you the scarf."
She finally sat up.  Bits of grass stick to the Hufflepuff's hair.  "Why on earth would you do that, Imelda?  The whole school is going to think that Ominis is courting me!"
"Indeed."
Natty frowned.  "I have to admit.  I do not see the game you are trying to play.  How does that help our friend?"
Imelda rolled her eyes.  It was sometimes frustrating being the only Slytherin of their girl group.  They were so slow to stack the odds to get what they wanted.  They were so narrow-minded as they achieved their goals, seeing only a couple paths towards victory instead of the millions of possibilities Imelda always saw.
"Boys like Sallow are easy to manipulate.  Start a rumor that his best friend is seeing the love of his life, and the boy will make sure to do everything in his power to correct the record."  Imelda flicked off a speck of dirt on her otherwise well-polished nails.  "He'll come crawling back to you in a week tops."
Poppy oo'ed in approval, clapping excitedly at the new development.  Natty shot her a judging look.  Poppy dropped her "oo's" to a respectful volume.
The other Hufflepuff gaped in silence, at a loss for words.  "Sebastian's one of the smartest people I know.  He can pick up even the most difficult spells on the first try." She crossed her arms.  "He's too smart to fall for your tricks, Imelda."
Her compatriots were silent. Natty, Poppy, and Imelda ginned and looked at each other deviously.  Poppy was the first to bust out in laughter, causing the other two to join in.  The offended girl scowled behind her green scarf, annoyed.
The Hufflepuff rolled her eyes.  "You all think so low of him.  I'm telling you, Sebastian's not the type to care about this sort of petty thing.  You'll see."
"Oh, we'll see alright." Imelda sneered.  "I bet my best broomstick that your Slytherin will come crawling back to you on his knees.  Why I bet he's foaming at the mouth right now."
·͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙
Sebastian was practically foaming at the mouth.  He wanted to scream and pull his hair out.  Back in the sanctuary of his dorm room, he could finally take off the mask of indifference he'd been wearing all day.  Ever since he eavesdropped on the rumors surrounding the new student, they have followed him incessantly, mocking him.  It seems like all the students, all the professors, even the godforsaken portraits were talking about the 'newest couple in Hogwarts'.  How on earth that anyone could see her and Ominis actually together was beyond him.
Speaking of Ominis, Sebastian glanced over at his friend who was sitting comfortably in his own bed, reading a book in braille.  Ominis looked serene as if he was above the petty comments of the commoners of Hogwarts.
Suspiciously aloof in Sebastian's opinion.
"How are you not bothered by all of this?" Sebastian asked.  He squinted his eyes, trying to see if he could catch Ominis in the act of trickery.
Ominis sighed, marking his place in his book before closing it with an air of finality.  He had foolishly hoped that the silly rumors going around Hogwarts wouldn't upset his best friend too much.  The students of Hogwarts were constantly talking Sebastian after all.  Gossiping about his charm around the female students, about his duels, about him getting detention for the second time that week.  Sebastian was never bothered by gossip, seeming revealing in it.
This rumor was different, it would seem.
"I'm not sure what you're on about."  Ominis tried.
Sebastian could smell something was up.  "Don't you play dumb with me.  You know exactly what I'm referring to.  The whole school thinks our new friend is seeing you.  Now, I believe that the heresy isn't true."  Sebastian's voice threatened to crack.  "Is there any reason to believe otherwise?"
The accused boy huffed, rolling his eyes.  "Merlin, Sebastian, you really live up to the infamous Slytherin jealousy."
"Don't you avoid the subject."  Sebastian said.
Ominis frowned, confused.  "Why don't you just correct the rumors?  Haven't you been courting her the whole time?"
Sebastian scowled, turning away from his friend, hiding the disappointment on his face.  He'd thought that everything was going so well.  Her secretive smiles and stolen glances whenever she thought Sebastian wasn't looking her way.  The way she stared openly and unapologetically mid-duel as his muscles strained under the force of his spells.
"No, we're just friends, Ominis." Sebastian responded stiffly.  "That's all there is too it."
Sebastian had thought that she returned his affections, especially when she accepted his scarf, a calling card of his intentions to woo her.  He thought things were going even better when she invited him to an date to Three Broomsticks, reminiscing about their first of many troll attacks.  Sebastian thought the date had gone perfectly when he walked her like a gentleman to her dorm.
It wasn't until she bid him a cordial, kind but only friendly, goodbye that he had realized how wrong he was.  She had not returned to give Sebastian her own yellow and black scarf, a token of her acceptance towards the courting.  And Sebastian had stood in front of the wine casket that hid the Hufflepuff common room, scarfless, lamenting in what an absolute fool he had been.
Ominis's frown deepened.  "Enough of this nonsense, Sebastian.  She's interested in you.  I mean, half of the female population is.  I can hear the way you two talk to each other."
Sebastian chuckled darkly.  "If that were true, I'd be wearing a yellow scarf."
It had stung.  The blatant, but very gentle rejection that she had given him.  Sebastian wasn't raised to be a troll to woman, and Anne had taught him to be better than his peers, so he allowed himself a few days to wallow before swallowing his pride.  It was privilege enough that she would be friends with him after all that had happened in their 5th year.
He was an idiot for thinking that someone as amazing as her would want to be with someone who's done so much bad as him.
Ominis shook his head.  "I'm sorry, Sebastian, but I am convinced that something is afoot between the two of you.  As both your friend and her friend, I can say without a shadow of doubt that the feelings are mutual.  I think the time for games is finished.  You must confess your feelings towards her."
Sebastian scoffed at the ridiculous notion.  It's like Ominis wasn't even listening to him.  Sebastian had literally just finished explaining how not interested she was in him.
"Gyffindors don't have a monopoly on courage, Sebastian."  Ominis chided.  "We Slytherins are brave enough to get what we want.  We always have been."
Sebastian narrowed his eyes.  He could feel the venom on his tongue.  "Oh?  How's courting my sister working for you?"
Sebastian wasn't sure what reaction he was expecting from Ominis.  What Sebastian was for sure not expecting was for a blush to creep its way up Ominis's neck.  His best friend sat ramrod straight, as still as a statute.  Ominis was incapable of schooling his expression and looked like a child who was caught in a lie.
Sebastian's mouth dropped at Ominis's shift in demeanor.  While he had some suspicions over the nature of Ominis's outings beyond Hogwarts grounds, it was a different matter entirely to have confirmation that Ominis was attempting to woo his twin sister.
The two boys were quiet, frozen in place.  The air in the dorms was stifling and awkward.
Ominis cleared his dry throat, very comfortable with pretending that he was also selectively deaf.  "Well, anyways, it is my humble opinion that our friend is head over heels for you.  All you need to do is ask."
Sebastian threw up his arms.  He was going to get nowhere with this infuriating boy.  Giving up, he collapsed, face first, on his bed, defeated.
·͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙⁺˚•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚⁺‧͙
The Hufflepuff sighed, chewing on the end of her quill.  Sitting on one of the dusty decrepit armchairs of the Undercroft, she relished in these moments of silence.  No one, student, professor, or villager, was asking anything of her.  Instead, she could simply be alone with her thoughts.
Unfortunately, her thoughts often revolved around Sebastian.
She rested her head against her fist and blew a raspberry in frustration.  The parchment before her was riddled with crossed out phrases and giant bleeding blotches of ink where her quill had paused.  She had spent the whole afternoon trying to come up with…something to say to Sebastian.  Four hours of work only to come up with nothing.  Ugh.  Why did words have to be so hard?
Maybe everyone was right.  It would be much easier just to throw him a Hufflepuff jumper and call it a day.
Before she could finalize her thoughts, the iron gates of the Undercroft swung open.  She hastily stuffed the quill and parchment into a random pocket in her bags.  She couldn't help but fix her hair, just in case it was Sebastian.
In walked the very man who had been on her mind all day.  And Sebastian Sallow looked rather miffed.  Hands already clenched in frustrations, he walked up to her.  His eyes trailed up and down her form.
"What are you wearing?" he asked without preamble.
There was a sense of deja vu at the question.  "My school uniform?  Because…I go here?  I'm a Hogwarts student?"
Sebastian frowned.  "Where's your scarf?"
She huffed.  Really?  Out of millions of important things they had to talk about: Sebastian's behavior, Anne, their maybe date, their questionable relationship status.  Her scarf was the thing he chose to fixate on?  "It's warm outside, Sebastian.  Why on earth would I be wearing a scarf in the spring?"
He scowled, now pacing unable to contain his anxiety.  So she decided not to wear his scarf anymore.  What did this mean?  This only proved Sebastian's theory that she did reject his affections.  Ominis's words of encouragement last night only worsened Sebastian's current mood.  Ominis had no idea what he was talking about.  Maybe after all this time, she finally learned the symbolism behind the gifted scarf and was appalled at Sebastian's rather forward claim on her.  Maybe the rumors were to be believed, and she was interested in Ominis.  Maybe her and Ominis "studying at the library together" actually had no studying whatsoever.  Maybe-
His thoughts got interrupted when something rather soft smacked him square in the face.  Whatever the scratchy material was had hit in right in his open eyes.  His eyes watered, stinging at the insult.
"What in Merlin's beard?"  He ripped the offending fabric off his face.
In his hands was a warm, yellow and black striped Hufflepuff scarf.  The one that she had worn throughout the fall.  The one that always managed to hide her teasing smiles and blushes.  It smelled of their shared apple tarts and a bit singed at the edges as if one of her Confringo spells exploded a bit too close for comfort.
It smelled like her.
He looked up to catch her gaze.  She was leaning with all her weight on one foot with her arms crossed, slightly annoyed at the silly affair.
Sebastian recovered quickly.  He couldn't stop the grin from his face.  He felt like he was back to his old self, just like how he was when the two of them first met.  "Well, well, I was waiting for you to pay me back eventually.  Nice to know that Hufflepuffs have some manners."
She huffed, tired of these games and double-speak.  "You know, if you don't want it, you can always give it back."
"Now hold on,"  Sebastian cut her off, already wrapping it possessively around his neck in intricate woven pattern so tight so she couldn't even separate it from him if he tried.  "I never said I didn't appreciate the gift."
She rolled her eyes.  Walking up to him, she picked at the scarf on instinct, fluffing it in a more comfortable manner for him.  "This is frankly so dumb."
He hummed in delight at his Hufflepuff fussing over him.  With her so close to him now, he felt like a purring Kneazle.  "Well, as dumb as you think it is, I think I look rather fetching in yellow.  Don't you think so, sweetheart?"
She choked on her spit, hands frozen on her scarf.  She missed the safety of the green and silver scarf that allowed her to hide her expressions from the world around her.  With a scarlet face, she muttered.  "Sebastian Sallow, you know I find you attractive."
Sebastian smirked, preening under her words.
Whatever speech she had drafted now forgotten in favor of venting her frustrations out onto him.  "You should also know that you drive me absolutely bonkers.  I just can't believe we had to go through this whole song and dance.  Merlin, I've been drunk on the Amortentia that is you, Sebastian Sallow, for a whole two years now." Her hands tighten the grip that she had on hers (now Sebastian's?) yellow scarf.  "I've been in love with you ever since you first took me to Hogsmeade.  Merlin's beard, Sebastian, I've taken you as my companion to every poacher duel I can think of.  We explore the most dangerous dungeons together.  We fight off foul Acromantulas together.  And it takes a silly yellow scarf for you to finally realize my feelings for you?"
She finally looked up at him, her fierce eyes finding his.  What she wasn't expecting was a rare moment of vulnerability on Sebastian's face.  The confident charming boy before her looked uncertain all of a sudden.
His rough hands reached up to gently meet hers, holding her in place.  "Why would someone as good as you want someone who's done so much evil like me?"
And therein laid the truth of Sebastian's fears.  If the savior of Hogwarts was too good for people as dull and drab as Garreth or Prewett, then in what world would she want to be with someone who had so much blood on his hands as Sebastian?  No, she deserved the best.  And it certainly wasn't someone like him.
She was flabbergasted.  She was so used to the Sebastian Sallow she first met.  The boy whose Slytherin ambitions urged him to greedily take what was rightfully his.  Where was the young brash and carefree optimistic boy whose boldness and forwardness had charmed her?
She gently removed her hands from his.  His expression was caged off from her.  Gently, she reached up to caress his face, angling his chin slightly downwards so he could look at her in the eye.  He turned to her, like a wilting flower dying for the sun.  The walls around him melted as his knitted brow soften to look at her.
"Sebastian, you are rash and reckless.  You are possessive and incredibly jealous, even though you have no reason to be."  The other boy looked away, trying to pull away from her.  She held his chin in place forcing him to look at her.  He looked gorgeous in yellow.
"You're also the most devoted person I know, devoted to Ominis, to Anne, to me.  You fight so fiercely to protect what is yours both on the battlefield and off of it.  Everything you have done, both the good and the awful, has been because of your love.  Everything that you are, your recklessness, your kindness, has been because of your love, your devotion to those that you care for.  How could I not fall in love with you?"
The bright joyous colors brought a sunny aura to his usual darkened expressions.  The Hufflepuff scarf around his neck made him look lighter, more open to the possibilities around him.  The hues of yellow reflected the golden flecks that were hidden in his brown eyes.
He scoffed, trying not to think too hard at her words, not willing to break into a million pieces in front of her.  "You are so brilliant, sweetheart, you could have anyone you wanted in the world.  I'm just a boy from some hamlet who couldn't even save his sister."
Her shoulders softened.  Oh, Sebastian.  "That's not true.  I am here with you, Sebastian.  I am choosing to be here with you.  I will always choose to be here with you, in this moment."
He could see her eyes dip down to look at his lips.  And with that, it was like the weak dam to his flood of emotions was broken.  He surged forward catching her lips in his.  His hands flew up to cup both sides of her face, marveling at the beauty he was holding.  She responded in turn, throwing her hands around his neck.  She met the storm that was Sebastian with equal ferocity.  Her lips pressed forward, almost bruising him with the passionate intention behind it.
He could feel the curl of her smile against his.  Her long eyelashes fluttered against his cheeks as if they were kissing the freckles that they found there.  She smelled of their shared apple tarts, and her lips were warm against his.  In her arms, he felt safe, like the world was created just for the two of them.
Lungs dying, he could barely stand ripping himself away from her.  He rested his forehead against hers, not wanting to let go of this moment even for a second.  His thumb was still caressing her cupped face, marveling at the miracle that was the savior of Hogwarts.
"You should know, you are never getting your scarf back."  Sebastian quipped.
She let out a breath of laughter.  Sebastian eagerly chased it with another quick kiss.  Later, much, much later, after he was finished kissing his darling silly, he'll walk out the Undercroft with a yellow scarf around his neck holding hands with his Hufflepuff wearing that green scarf of hers.

Her eyes flew open, heart pounding. Had she imagined it? The warmth of his body pressed against hers, the phantom weight of Sebastian’s arm around her waist... Her fingertips brushed the empty space, still warm, and a shiver ran down her spine. She buried her face in his pillow, breathing deep, the faint scent of his cologne a bittersweet reminder.
She stretched, blinking through the canopy, vision blurring then snapping into focus. Ominis stood by the basin, his usual focus now bent on the careful ritual of shaving. “Morning,” she managed, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.
“Morning, dove.” He didn’t turn around, his attention on the razor’s glide.
“Thanks, as always, for…” she trailed off, cheeks warming. How to explain the strange intimacy they’d fallen into? “...for everything.”
Ominis chuckled, a low rumble. “Blind, not oblivious, love.” Still focused on his task. One hand held his chin, the other meticulously dragging the razor across his pale face. “Besides, who am I to begrudge a girl in love a bit of nighttime comfort? Just don’t tell Sebastian I said so. I am keeping a stern attitude with him, otherwise, he’d have you over each night.”
She laughed, tension easing. “My lips are sealed.” Stepping closer, she couldn’t resist the study of him – the focused line of his jaw, the faint dusting of stubble. “Here, you missed a bit. May I?”
“Thanks, love.” He handed her the razor, and a jolt went through her as their fingers brushed.  Carefully, gently, she finished the task, his warmth so close. “You’re better at this than Sebastian ever was,” Ominis murmured leaning down to splash his face in cold water.
“Speaking of which, do you happen to know where he’s sauntered off to?” she asked as Ominis finished patting his face dry.
“Slept in, shamefully,” he admitted. “Not a peep from Sebastian. Odd, that.”
“Slept like a rock myself. Had the nicest dream, though I can’t remember it.” She tugged at her tie. “Ugh, Saturdays are for freedom.” With a toss, the tie landed on the bed.
Ominis straightened his robes. “Any plans for the day?”
“First, a proper wake-up with a bath... then I suppose I’ll try to hunt down Seb,” she shrugged. “What about you?”
“Prefect duties. Someone’s got to keep the chaos in check. Though I might just hide out with you two if you promise more of those… late-night ‘study sessions’.”
She laughed and playfully swatted at him, a blush warming her cheeks. “Must you tease? See you later, Ominis.” A lingering touch on his shoulder, then she was gone.
The common room hummed with the usual Saturday morning chaos as she emerged from the corridor – a heated whisper about a losing chess game, a burst of laughter from the first-years' corner. The air hung sweet with tea and candy. From the top of the stairs, where the seventh-year dorms spilled out, she scanned the scene below, hoping for a glimpse of Sebastian curled by the fireplace, lost in a book. But there was no sign of him, and a sigh escaped her lips.
She turned to enter her dormitory, relieved to find it empty. Then, Imelda’s Quidditch gear sprawled across the floor caught her eye. Of course! Sebastian must have left for Saturday morning practice. She’d find him at the pitch, but first, a bath was desperately needed.
Slipping into the bathroom, she ran a warm, bubbly bath, discarding her clothes in a haphazard pile. Rubbing her eyes, she glanced in the mirror and noticed tiny purple marks on her neck.  Her fingers traced them thoughtfully, thinking back to last night's activities before she turned to lock the door.
Finally, she slid into the water, a sigh escaping her as the warm bubbles enveloped her. As she relaxed her hand instinctively ran over the bump over her wet foamy breast, the touch instigating a nipple to firm up, as her finger slid back over it she felt tingles running through her body. Flicking her finger over her hardened peak her thoughts were on Sebastian again. His musky smell, him towering over her, his greedy hands kneading her breasts. She gasped and bit into her lower lip.
Her other hand slid underwater to rub in between her aching folds. His voice rang like a deep melody inside her head “That’s it, my siren. Take it all.” And that chuckle of his, damn him. She began to tremble. Eyes tightly shut. The image of Sebastian was clear in her mind’s eye. With a combined effort of rubbing her nipple and her clit she felt a strong tremble rumble through her body. The slightest whimper and a moan escaped her lips as he came undone. Her heart aching to jump out of her chest. She exhaled leaning against the wall of the tub and relaxed, satisfied.
♡♡♡
“Eyes on me, for Merlin’s sake! That Bludger nearly took my head off!” Imelda barked, swooping closer to Sebastian on her broom. “What’s gotten into you, Sallow? I need you focused out here,” she demanded.
Sebastian snapped to attention. “Understood. Sorry.” He repositioned himself, wincing as the broom’s hilt pressed uncomfortably against his groin. Tight Quidditch trousers didn’t help matters either. He gripped the broom tightly, knuckles whitening. Then, a whirring sound from behind – he ducked just as a rogue Bludger whizzed past.
“You’re supposed to hit them, not dodge them!” Imelda yelled. “Bloody hell, Sallow, take five!” She snarled, flying off to regroup with the team.
Sebastian landed, sliding off his broom with an exasperated sigh. He'd been struggling on and off this morning with a particularly stubborn erection and was trying his best to hide that fact from his teammates. However, the ache seemed to worsen when his feet touched the ground. He groaned, feeling the weight and pain in his groin. Panicked, he quickly jumped back on his broom and zoomed toward Madam Kogawa's quarters. Thankfully, he knew she was away at the Ministry this weekend, leaving the quarters empty. He tossed his broom aside and, with a quick Alohomora, he entered inside.
When Imelda turned to scold him, he was gone, panting and leaning against the closed door. Bloody hell, all his blood seemed to rush to a singular spot, churning uncomfortably within him, making him squirm. It was all her fault. This morning when he'd opened his eyes, he'd immediately realized two things: he was running late for practice, and he'd woken up with a... pressing need. His body ached with desire, fueled by the warmth of her pressed against him.
To his great misfortune, this wasn't one of those fleeting morning wood situations. No, this one had persisted throughout practice – for Merlin's sake! He groaned, too afraid to even touch the bulge in his trousers. Carefully he lowered his hand. This was pathetic. Was he really going wank himself off in Kogawa’s office? Yet, he couldn’t go anywhere with his cock outlined against his trousers like that. Damn. Sebastian closed his eyes wishing the floor would open up and swallow him.
♡♡♡
She breathed the crisp spring air of fresh grass as she stepped onto the Quidditch pitch. Her eyes fixated on the group of green and white robes, and she quickened her pace hoping Sebastian would be among them. However, he was not.
“Hey Imelda, have you seen Sebastian?” she inquired, positively confused that he wasn’t at the practice.
"I was hoping you'd tell me," Imelda retorted, annoyance lacing her voice. “He was slacking all morning and when I told him to get it together, the knobhead ran away! Oh, the audacity!” she scoffed angrily.
“Ran away?” She asked, her confusion growing.
“Yes. Now, if you find him, tell him to get his arse back to the pitch right this second. I’m not finished with him!” Imelda growled, straddling her broom.
As she watched Imelda take off. She scratched her head, the absurdity of the situation dawning on her, as she started to walk back to the courtyard. Her eyes scanned for any sign of him. Maybe Sebastian wasn’t far away. As she exited the Quidditch pitch, she noticed a discarded Slytherin (his) broom near the entrance to Kogawa’s office. She smirked. There you are.
She approached the door and knocked gently, testing her luck. Silence answered from the other side. She knocked again, this time more firmly.
“Who – who is it?” She heard Sebastian’s startled voice.
“It’s me,” she chuckled.
“Oh,” the tone in his voice shifted. He stepped back to the door and unlocked it. When he saw his girlfriend standing there, he thanked the heavens, and a smirk spread across his face. “You’re just in time,” he said in a sultry voice.
He pressed his hand against his aching bulge and breathed in sharply. "Okay, this might sound weird, but I need to be honest. My… uh… lower regions are protesting. Loudly . All because of you.” She couldn’t help but laugh. "Don't laugh at me. I'm serious! I need release, or I might actually end up in the hospital wing," he groaned, pressing his hand against the trousers where his arousal was tightly confined.
She bit her lower lip, taking in the sight of him. “You could give me a taste of what’s been keeping you in such a... flustered state.” Her grin was wicked, eyes flickering between his trousers and his face.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “Oh, a taste, you say?” He licked his bottom lip and stepped closer, grasping her hips and spinning her around. Pressing her back against the door, he murmured, “I'll give you a taste of my fantasies. But first…” His voice dropped to a husky whisper, “Please, let me have a taste of you.” He dropped to his knees, hands sliding her skirt tentatively up her thighs.
She shivered against the cool wood as he began placing feather-light kisses along her inner thigh, breathing in her scent. With each kiss, he worked his way slowly upwards. “Mmm, sweetheart, I’ve been a mess all morning,” he moaned into her skin, the heat of his breath raising goosebumps. “I’ve been bad,” he murmured. “Skipped my practice,” he mumbled as he teased her with tiny kisses against her sensitive area.
“Maybe I’ll have to punish you for that,” she purred, gazing down at him through her lashes, pressing his face closer between her thighs.
Sebastian chuckled, his fingers hooked into the waistband of her panties, and a shiver ran through her as he slid them down, gently, yet with undeniable determination. He inhaled sharply, the scent of her arousal intoxicating him. Cursing under his breath, his eyes rolled back in his head as pleasure overwhelmed him.
Slowly, he gripped her thighs, bringing her glistening folds closer to his face, “Mmm,” he moaned “That’s what I love about you. You’re always dripping for me.” He slid his tongue inside slowly gliding up and down, savoring the juices. “Gods, you taste so good,” he growled against her flesh.
She quivered. Well-practiced ministrations of his tongue sent her into oblivion and her fingers tightened in his soft brown locs, pulling, tugging for a sliver of self-control. As if she ever had any when it came to him.
Sebastian moaned softly as she tugged at his hair. It spurred him to plunge his tongue deeper between her folds, adding a finger to slide over her nub in a thoughtful circular motion. His other hand fell to the front of his trousers, lazily undoing the laces. His aching erection finally sprang free. He palmed around his throbbing arousal while still keeping attention to the movements of his tongue. The growls against her skin created vibrations that deepened her moans and whimpers which in turn gave him valuable cues. With each flick of his tongue, he felt her tremble more. “Shh baby,” he ordered, “don’t come just yet.”
His thumb circled the tip of his cock, spreading the gathering precum around his length, but it somehow wasn’t enough. He moved his face away from her if only for a moment to glide his palm over her dripping pool, picking up as much lubrication as he could. He then coated himself with the juices of her arousal, gazing up at her with hooded, lust-filled eyes. That, right there , would make her come undone if she weren’t holding back, enjoying his little show.
“Look at yourself,” she grinned through soft moans while lazily rubbing herself. The sight of him on his knees drove her mad. Her eyes fixed on his form as he stroked his cock in long, languid motions.
Sebastian stood up, “I need to be inside you…will you let me?” he pleaded, voice dripping with desire. He wanted her permission.
“Yes,” she cooed, “ yes ,” she repeated and pressed herself back further into the door as he started to grind his hips against hers.
“Not here though…mmm, so many possibilities,” he breathed, his breath hot against her earlobe before he gently nipped it. “Perhaps I’ll have you on your hands and knees taking me like the insatiable little minx you are.” His fingers trailed teasingly down her spine making her shiver. “Or… I could lay you out on this desk and have my wicked way with you, watching your face contort in ecstasy,” he purred down her ear before his voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. “The only question is which position shall I ruin you in first?”
She melted in his hands, arching her neck, and exposing it to him. The anticipation of his bruising touch made her skin thrum. “...desk... the desk,” she choked out, lust overriding any sense of control. His own words echoed back to her: “Ruin me, Sebastian.” A whimper escaped her, a mix of shame and the desperate desire he’d coaxed forth.
Sebastian pulled her flush against him his length pressing insistently against her sensitive flesh. “Precisely, darling,” he purred, “I plan to fill every inch of you, over and over, until you can think of nothing but my cock buried deep inside you.” He relished in the sensation of how those words made her shiver like a twig in his arms. He ground his hips against hers with more fervor. “You’re going to be utterly ruined for anyone else…”
“Like anyone else ever deserved me…” she added, her insistent nods urging him on. With a swift motion, he scooped her into his strong arms, carrying her to Kogawa's desk. Parchments and clutter flew aside with a careless sweep of his hand, and he laid her down on the smooth wood.
“Oh you know me well, sweetheart, now…” his hands ran smoothly down her thighs, “let’s not prolong this any further.” His fingers glided across her slickness eliciting soft moans from her. He wanted to make sure she was thoroughly coated before rubbing some of her essence on his himself as well. “I am in pain, remember?” He groaned as he pushed himself between her thighs, his tip pressing insistently between her folds, he was about to…
“Wait,” she gasped, her hand pressing urgently against his chest.
“Sweetheart,” he growled, the guttural vibration of his voice a mix of frustration and desire. “Don’t tease me like that.”
“I want…” her eyes fluttered and she bit her lip. “...I want you to fuck me in your Quidditch jersey.”
Sebastian closed his eyes, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips. “Ah, do you now?” His voice was a low rumble. “Take off your shirt.” She obeyed him. In one fluid motion, he stripped off his jersey, his toned, muscular physique rippling in the dim light. Possessively, he draped the jersey over her, the scent of his sweat and masculinity enveloping her. “Now, let me show you just how well I can handle my broom…” he smirked. No matter how ridiculous he sounded, he was lost in the moment.
Satisfied with the view below he surged forward, capturing her lips in a searing kiss, finally repositioning himself at her entrance. His tip glided over her slick wet folds. He groaned “‘Sallow’ looks so fucking good on you,” he gripped the hem of the jersey and with one swift motion thrust inside her, hitting the deepest spot.
She gasped her eyes wide open in surprise as she took hi,. “I always…wanted…ahh…this.” her words were coming out in between his measured thrusts.
His eyes gleamed with unbridled desire as he gazed down at her, his hands grasping the hem of his shirt on her possessively. “You have no idea how hot you sound,” he groaned while leaning in claiming her lips, bruising them, almost. His hips surged forward. He wanted to bury himself deeper into her welcoming heat. “Fuck, you look so good in my colours…” he growled, breath hot against her skin, his thrusts began to quicken drawing a cacophony of moans out of her.
“The idea of somebody catching us…ah, Sebastian,” she moaned, her hips bucking to meet each of his thrusts, his scent driving her crazy. Her nails dug deep into his freckled shoulders dragging down his arms. Each time he leaned in for a bruising kiss, her tongue glided masterfully over his, teasing, and driving him more mad.
His hips snapped forward with renewed urgency, his thick length plunging deeper into her core over and over. His fingers released the jersey and glided upwards to cup her breasts underneath, kneading them until he deftly moved his fingers over her nipples, instantly hardening her peaks.
He flicked one finger over her nipple while the other hand found its way back down to her plush clit. “That’s it darling, let me see you come undone around me,” he groaned and flicked his fingers with more intention while maintaining a thrusting rhythm and he could feel her walls tremble.
Her first orgasm washed over her whole body, erupting from her core and sending tingles down to her toes. Her walls clenched around his cock hard, and he strained leaning forward to devour her moans of pleasure. He moaned in desperation, as he felt his own impending release, he bit down into his lip making it bleed, tasting iron. He wouldn’t let himself come yet. This was just too good to end it here.
She laughed breathlessly beneath him. “Don’t stop,” she urged even though the sensitivity of the afterglow made her squirm beneath his insistent thrusts.
“Mhm, that’s it darling, squeeze me just like that,” he growled while regaining momentum and rolling his hips in a sensual grind. “I am going to wring every last drop from you. You feel so bloody incredible, dripping and clenching around me,” he cried out.
She arched forward eagerly meeting his every hard pulse. Hoisting up the jersey she pulled his face down to her breasts urging him to suck at her aching buds. Sebastian relished in the taste of flesh, his tongue capturing hungrily one of her pert nipples between his teeth and sucking on it, rekindling her arousal. His hips continued relentless pace, driving himself deeper, hitting her sweet spots over and over. “You’re mine, do you hear me? He growled, his other free hand kneading her other breast roughly. “Every inch of you belongs to me now. Say it.”
“I am yours,” she cried out through strained moans, his deep thrusts and rough handling making her head spin. “I am Sallow’s girl,” she moaned. Suddenly, she wanted to give in deeply to his possessive desires. She wanted his rough treatment to be even more intense. “Slap me!” she demanded.
“What did you say?” her demand surprised him, making him slow down momentarily.
“Slap me, Sebastian” she insisted. “I am yours. Have your way with me.”
Sebastian’s eyes flashed with unbridled lust at her wanton plea. With a feral growl, he brought his palm down in a sharp, stinging slap against her cheek. “You’re damn right, you’re mine,” he snarled possessively, his hips pounding into her with renewed fervor. He leaned in, dragging his lips over her abused flesh.
She pulled his hair tugging him closer. He buried himself to the hilt into her slick warmth. “Take every inch of me,” he nuzzled into her neck. She panted heavily chasing another wave of pleasure under his relentless rhythm. Beads of his sweat dripped down from his chestnut hair strands onto her shoulder. She hooked one of her arms around his neck letting it slowly trail lower until reaching his groin, gently squeezing, drawing out guttural sounds.
“Fuck,” he strained “Keep doing that love and you’ll have me spilling inside you…” his voice dropped to a ragged growl as he gazed down at her with pure lust burning in his eyes. “I won’t be able to hold back much longer…”
Her fingers teased and brushed his sensitive sac, making his breath hitch, his hips bucked forward involuntarily. “Bloody hell, you’re going to be the death of me,” he growled, his voice thick with raw need. “I want to hear you scream my name when I fill you.”
Her hand found its way back to her clit, rubbing it tentatively chasing her orgasm and matching his impending release. “I’ll be there with you,” she breathed.
“Yes, I need you to…” he groaned, coiled tension within him threatening to shatter. His form contorted over her, toes curling, feeling her tight walls squeeze around him once again. He gripped onto the fabric of his green jersey. His orgasm crashed over him in waves, filling her deeply with his, hot pulsing seed.
“I am right here with you,” he breathed heavily against her hair, still coming down from his intense release. She could feel him tremble above her.
“That was a lot,” she breathed, as he collapsed down. Her fingers threaded through his damp locs. Their lips met in a long, languid kiss, a sigh escaping her. His fingers traced the flush on her cheeks, then moved to roam her face, gently worshiping each feature.
He pulled out slowly, not breaking their connection entirely. He marveled at her sated form beneath him, the glow of her skin, the way she still trembled. A glistening trail ran down her thigh, and he traced it with a fingertip before sliding his hand gently upwards back into her well-used folds. “There, that’s better,” he murmured, his voice rough with tenderness. He scooped her into his arms, her warmth a delicious weight against him.
She chuckled against his chest. “What’s so funny?” He looked down at her, a gentle kiss landing on her hair.
“Imelda told me to bring your arse back to the pitch the second I found you,” she murmured, giggling.
“There were… more pressing matters to resolve first,” Sebastian smirked, his fingers tangling in her hair.
“I'll take care of Imelda,” she murmured, kissing him again, a shiver running through her. “But don’t think this is over.” With a final, lingering touch, she stepped away, leaving him wanting more.

PERSONALITY
Bonnie is a very gentle and sweet person, like a calm sun. She lights up the surroundings with her smile and optimism. Pacific by nature, she always chooses kindness and belief in others, which can make her seem naive. But she remains strong for her ability to choose peace when she has the capacity to hurt. Very popular for her beauty and gentleness, everyone has a crush on her. She's very sociable and is friends with everyone, but has few close friends. Only they know about her teasing side, which she hides, because it tends to bewilder others. You'll never see her get angry, unless she catches you mistreating plants or other harmless creatures. Coming from a good family, she's well-bred, polite and courteous. She can also be "appreciated" for her beauty and status alone, and faces many hyporcrites.
Bonnie is passionate about herbology, and confident in her abilities. Plants are her whole life, and she cherishes them as if they were her own children. She doesn't like when people see them only as tools, whereas she treats them as living beings. Many people think she's only good at looking after flowers and other pretty but useless plants, but what she prefers are dangerous and venomous ones, which tend to surprise people when they find out. Moreover, she has an attraction for all things normally repulsive and frightening: spiders, Sombrals, trolls, toads… Which makes her open-minded and not judge people by their appearance. But she tends to hide it, so as not to be linked to her family's dangerousness and to be feared. It's hard to scare her, as she keeps her composure, and she may appear reckless in dangerous situations. The Hufflepuff spends most of her time in the school greenhouse taking care of her plants, or can be found in the forest.
We might think that Bonnie lacks of ambition, because she doesn’t aspire to much. If she has to take over the family business and become a ruthless businesswoman, she dreams of a simple life, where she would live with her wife and children, and would take care of her plants in a small cottage. She has resigned herself to such a life and blindly follows the orders of her family, but still hopes to find the strength to break free from them. A certain Slytherin could help her…
Traits: kind, patient, romantic, calm, sociable, sensible, empathic, peaceful, naive, passive, idealist but tend to be fatalistic
Likes: plants (Tentacula venenosa are her favorite), tea parties, picnic, sweet fruits, wake up with the sun, Sombrals, spiders
Dislikes: gossip, close-mind and hateful people, dark arts, being seen as a fragile and defendless things
Good at: herbology, potions, singing, dancing, playing a harp
Bad at: defending herself, Quidditch, not being pretty
Hobbies: taking care of her plants, flying with Imelda, walk in the wild
Fears: losing Imelda, disappointing her parents, fire

RELATIONSHIP
Partner:
Imelda Reyes: The two students didn't get along at first. Imelda saw Bonnie as a silly girl, living only in her haughty little artistocrat world, and Bonnie saw her as cruel and contemptuous for her own pleasure. They spoke little to each other, had no friends in common, no shared passions, and tolerated each other for classes. Still, Imelda was stung in her ego that the Hufflepuff who liked everyone didn't like her, and Bonnie was vexed that she didn't reciprocate the kindness she showed. And so the years went by, Bonnie ignoring her and Imelda sparring, until Imelda came to her with a request for a potion to help her improve her Quidditch performance. From there, an exchange of favors between the two teenagers led to them spending more time together, learning more about each other, and growing fonder of each other. Until they fell in love.
Bonnie is the calm sunshine and Imelda the grumpy storm. Despite appearances, Bonnie loves to tease her girlfriend by flirting with her without warning, even though she knows it's unladylike. They support each other in their respective passions, even if they know nothing about them. Imelda appreciates her gentleness and optimism, while Bonnie appreciates her honesty, bravery and admires most of all her self-confidence. Both have learned to see beyond appearances: Imelda learns that kindness is an act of courage and use her strong personality to help her girlfriend, and Bonnie learns to stand up for herself and not let others do it to her while keeping her convictions. Bonnie confided to Imelda her secret of being an animagus, encouraged by the latter to show her true strength. Imelda gives her the confidence to assume who she is. The Slytherin loves her for who she is, not for how rich she is or what she's asked to be.
Fiancee:
Ominis Gaunt: Ominis and Bonnie were engaged as children. The Huntchinsons want to mingle with the Gaunts to rise socially, and because it's an honor to link up with such a powerful and noble family. Especially because of their shared pure-blood ideology and hatred for the Muggles. Fortunately, the two children get along well and have become friends, and Bonnie's mother is counting on this alliance to rebuild her daughter's reputation. The children support each other through the difficult times caused by the toxicity of their respective families.
Now teenagers, the two don't talk about their union at school, which no one (except Sebastian) knows about. Although friends, they suspect that neither is in love. But they don't think they can escape an arranged marriage, and prefer to get married with a friend, rather than separate and risk having to marry someone they don't like. Until Bonnie fell in love with Imelda. Ominis found out, and encouraged her to follow her heart and defy her family, giving him the courage to do the same. They remained on good terms for the rest of their lives.
Friends:
Adelaide Oakes: One of her roomates. They hit it off right away, with their calm, warm personalities. It was when Bonnie saw Adelaide persisting in her studies and her hobbies that she realized the gap in wealth that separated them: Bonnie's future was assured (if she decided to follow the path set out for her), but her friend had to fight to be able to have a decent life. Nevertheless, there's no jealousy between the girls, and they enjoy gardening together.
Samantha Dale: She and Bonnie got on well together, thanks to their passion for botany and their qualifications for potions. Samantha is a great talker when they're together, and likes to discuss anything and everything - classes, boys, fashion, etc.- when it's not about herbology. Bonnie wishes her friend were a Hufflepuff so they could spend even more time with together. They regularly form a trio with Adelaide around their passion for plants, and are known to be Professor Garlick's favorite students.
Natsai Onai: Bonnie is the first student that Natsai went to see when she arrived at Hogwarts, thinking she was also an African student. Although this was not the case, they became friends and she helped him quickly integrate into school and Scottish society. In return, Bonnie often asks her to tell stories about her home country, where she has lost its customs. Natsai tells her everything with pleasure, and wants to help her learn their language, as well as handle magic without a wand. Bonnie admires her bravery and determination, which she lacks of. She would like to be able to tell her that she is an animagus to fly with her, but hasn't told her. Bonnie is worried that some members of her family are taking a little too close interest in Natsai, being a pure-blood witch with her father killed from a muggle hunter, and to corrupt her with their anti-Muggles ideas.
Leander Prewett: Like her other friends, Bonnie and Leander have bonded over their shared passion for botany. He enjoys her company, not least because she's not stingy with compliments, and he finds himself invigorated after spending time with her. He also has a crush on the Hufflepuff that everyone seems to see except her (or she deliberately ignores him, because it's not mutual). Even if Bonnie is often asked why a girl as popular as she is spending time with such a loser, she simply replies that she enjoys his company, which is true. She doesn't regard him as a nobody nor with pity and defends his honor with composure, resenting anyone putting down her friend, even more if it's supposed to "compliment" her.
Family:
Mother Wilhelmina (animagus: black widow): Wilhelmina is a cold woman who could easily be nicknamed "Lady of Steel". She never smiles, and keeps her family under her thumb. Nothing is more important to her than the honor of the Hutchinsons and keeping her daughter in line with tradition. Wilhelmina has often been envied by those around her, especially her younger brother Augustus who envies her position as heiress, and who has passed this resentment to his sons. When Bonnie was born, she decided to not have another child, to avoid the same jealousy as her brother. But this puts even more pressure on Bonnie to live up to her expectations, as she is the only direct descendant. Wilhelmina loves her deeply as a child, especially as she had difficulty getting pregnant, and wants to keep her away from the toxicity of her relatives. Nevertheless, she fears her daughter's recklessness and raises her firmly to force her to toughen up. She's stingy with her compliments, but reminds her that she's doing all this because she loves her, and to protect her from their family of vultures. Unfortunately, Bonnie seems to prefer empathy to severity.
Their relationship has worsened with each passing year, first after the discovery of her daughter's butterfly animagus, then her entry into the Hufflepuff house, which has brought her ridicule among her own kind. Seeing that the situation is not improving, and that the whole family is beginning to think that her daughter is not fit to lead them and does not deserve her status as heiress, Wilhelmina is torn between her duty as family leader and her love for her daughter. Unfortunately, it's the former that takes precedence over the latter, and their relationship deteriorates to the point of toxicity.
Bonnie loves her mother deeply but is dependent on her and her opinion, finds it hard to assert herself and is afraid of disappointing her more than anything else in the world. She'd like to find a situation where she can live the life she wants, without it causing a rift between them. She would later talk about her relationship with Imelda, naively hoping that her mother would accept her daughter's pure love. All she received was anger and disappointment. Two main problems: Imelda is half-blood with a pure-blood mother and a muggle-blood father, and she couldn't have biological children with her (not to mention that the Reyes were neither wealthy nor influential). Wilhelmina tried to work out an arrangement, such as letting Bonnie take Imelda as her lover as long as she married Ominis, but her daughter remained adamant about a love marriage, causing an even greater rift between the two.
Father Lawrence: Bonnie doesn't have much of a relationship with her father. While her mother looks after their manor house and family business in the surrounding area, her father is busy expanding their market to Scotland and even the world, leaving them little time to see each other. Lawrence is a quiet, serious man, as is Wilhelmina. Both know that their marriage is about business, not love, and that he was chosen because of his pure-blood status, his disdain for the Muggles, and his business acumen. It was his wife who decided to take charge of their daughter's education, and he relies entirely on her. He hopes that Bonne will follow the path that seems so clear to her.
Uncle Augustus (animagus: onychocerus beetle): Augustus is Wilhelmina's youngest and first brother. He's charming and charismatic, serious and implacable. Augustus has always been jealous of his older sister, believing himself to be better than her in every way, and more capable of leading their family to better days. He thinks it's unfair that she should be the heiress only because she's the eldest, whereas he thinks he's more competent than her. He works with her in their family business despite their tensions. He only wants one thing: to see his sister and daughter fall so he can take over the family business and make his sons the heirs of the Hutchinsons.
Aunt Ahutiare: Ahutiare was a gentle, kind and cheerful Tahithian by nature. She had fallen head over heels in love with Augustus during their time together at Hogwarts, as he was a popular, wealthy, charming and gentlemanly student who promised her the world. Ahutiare had little confidence in herself, coming from a wealthy family of purebloods fresh to London, and that was exactly what interested her lover: a docile, submissive woman of pure blood like his own. They married soon after graduation, and she became pregnant not long after her husband insisted on having children as soon as possible. Little did she know that his sole motivation was to have heirs before his sister did. Year after year, the mask crumbled and Ahutiare caught a glimpse of the narcissistic pervert she had married. He took her children away from her and raised them with the help of a wet nurse. Ahutiare became a shadow of her former self, receiving no affection from her husband after giving birth, only luxurious jewels and fine clothes to show her like a trophy to his relatives. She blindly follows her husband and agrees with everything he does and says. She spends most of her time at home, and only goes out if he forces her to. Her zest for life died a long time ago.
Cousins Ambrose and Archibald (animagus: bullet ant / harvesting ant) : The Hutchinson twins take after their father, who taught them and instilled his values. They are two years Bonnie's senior, and will soon have completed their studies at Hogwarts, during which they have given their cousin a hard time. Despite being the oldest of their generation, they think it's unfair that Bonnie should be the heiress. To say they despise her would be an understatement. Ambrose and Archibald are brilliant, charismatic boys who are cold, ambitious and ruthless. They're very popular, especially among the Slytherins, who rally to their cause rather than to the Hutchinson heiress, not to mention the support of their own family. The twins are never without each other, but their friendship hangs by a thread, as they would be ready to kill each other to define who would take over the family. One of them seems to have a particular interest in Natsai…
Uncle Hugh (animagus: scolopendra millipede): Hugh is the youngest of his siblings. When he entered Hogwarts, he was to have been sent to Ravenclaw, but begged the Sorting Hat to send him to his family house, even though he didn't have the values. Being the youngest, he knew he'd never have a high position in the family and didn't seek it, fleeing the rivalry of his elders. Hugh is a coward, a man who prefers to run away from conflict to be safe and go with the flow. Nevertheless, he's an inquisitive scholar who thrives on science and books, although no one has ever had anything to do with his shyness. Lacking business acumen, he is relegated to the background of the family business, but has an equally important role: inventing new formulas for their potions and poisons.
Aunt Vera: Vera is the daughter of a bourgeois family who married Hugh for no other reason than to rise socially in the sphere of nobility. She loves him only for his status, and would have preferred to marry his older brother Augustus, whom she finds more charming, more ambitious, and closer to becoming heir to the Hutchinsons. Vera is eager for power, not to rule, but to take it easy and find a comfortable situation where she has nothing to do but flaunt her wealth and gossip.
Cousin Eugenia (animagus: giant silk glass caterpillar) : Eugenia was born a few months after Bonnie, and they're both in the same class. Eugenia is terribly envious of her older cousin: she envies her position, her talent for potions and herbology, her beauty… Although Eugenia has nothing to be ashamed of, she does her best to be noticed, but she lives in the shadow of her cousin, who is the heiress to their family. As a real pest, she doesn't hesitate to slander and gossip about Bonnie, finding comfort only in putting her down. She's shallow and hopes to find a good match, as her father is only the youngest of his siblings, so she knows she can't hope for a better position in their family.
Cousin Basil (animagus: bee) : Basil is an 8-year-old boy who loves his cousin Bonnie. He's not interested in his family's stories, and prefers to concoct a new prank to play on them. Energetic and mischievous, a future Slytherin with a big heart, he's tireless and loves to involve Bonnie in his games. His big sister Eugenia often chases him away because "she's too old for these pranks", and they spend their time bickering. Basil is the fresh air Bonnie needs in her toxic family, and she cherishes him with all her heart.

HUTCHINSON'S STORY
Tumblr media
The Hutchinson crest. The apple for freedom, the castle for wealth, the sun for their superiority, and the scorpio for their ancestor's animagus.
The family's most distant recognized ancestor was called Ousmane. He was an African wizard who was captured and sold as a slave to a wealthy white master in Scotland in 1675, to work on a tobacco plantation. Like all slaves of the time, he was mistreated and lived in atrocious conditions, which marked him forever. He refused to use magic, terrified of being discovered as a wizard and killed. But as the years passed, his anger only increased, and he decided to devise a plan of escape. One night, he entered his master's home as a thick-tailed scorpion, his animagus, and stung him. His deadly venom killed him, and Ousmane took the opportunity to steal his fortune and escape before dawn. As a runaway black slave, he hurried to the Scottish wizarding world to seek refuge, unconcerned about the fate of the slaves left behind.
From that day on, he rebuilt his life. He decided to stay in Scotland and used his former master's fortune to live a comfortable life, raising himself to the rank of aristocrat. He specialized in poisons and venoms of all kinds, and was particularly appreciated by the dark wizards for this. By frequenting them, he came to share their anti-Muggles ideas, to whom he dedicated a hatred without name. He accused them all of being slavers, not only against the Blacks but also against the wizards they hunted and burned. He never returned to the Muggle world because he didn't belong there due to his skin color and magic, and his descendants would never mix with them or with wizards of Muggle or mixed blood. They'll all become Slytherins, and it's frowned upon to come from another Hogwarts house.
The Hutchinson family became known for being a refuge for Black wizards who wanted to settle in Scotland, but they had to submit to their conditions and ode of thought, such as muggle hatred. She is also known to free all the house elves she buys, due to her trauma of slavery. Thus, all house elves are free servants, paid and treated well, who can stay and work for them or leave if they wish. The family is criticized for this, especially by dark wizards, but the Hutchinsons remain faithful to this rule. Denying one's Black roots is frowned upon, such as straightening one's hair for girls.
Nevertheless, to better integrate into Scottish life and aristocracy, Ousmane abandoned his African surname, native language and traditions, except for one that has become the family mainstay: becoming an animagus. All direct descendants are known to be venomous insects, the most distant being deadly (but not venomous) insects or venomous animals (not insects). The business of poisons and venoms is passed down from generation to generation. The eldest child becomes head of the family, regardless of whether it's a boy or a girl. Spouses are not required to be animagus or Slytherin (or to be Black), but it's always appreciated. They must, however, take the name of their husband or wife to keep the family heritage, whether they are men or women.

BONNIE'S BACKSTORY
Bonnie came into the world with one goal: to be the heiress to the Hutchinson family, and to take over as head of the family when the time came, with the duties that go with it. Despite these demands and a strict upbringing worthy of a young noblewoman, her early years were quite peaceful. She took part in all her chores without complaint, and her particular interest in herbology delighted her parents. If her peaceful nature didn't worry them more than that, everything changed at the animagus ceremony when she turned 7. The family gathered to celebrate the animagus of a new child in the family -and here, being the heiress, the interest was more than special. Only her parents could witness her first transformation, before it was revealed to the rest of the family. Bonnie knew she came from a line of animagus insects, so when she transformed into a beautiful yellow butterfly, she was delighted. Until she became human again and found her parents astonished. Not only was she not a venomous insect, like all the direct descendants of their distant ancestor, she was just... a harmless insect. With the animagus representing the personality of the wizard, she would be directly labeled pretty, but useless. It was such a shame that her parents preferred to reveal that she hadn't succeeded in her transformation, hoping to gain time to help her become another animal. Even so, it was a laughing stock for her family, who already saw her as unfit to rule them if she wasn't able to reveal her animagus. Since then, Bonnie has been strictly forbidden to speak to anyone about this event, and to transform herself, making her feel as if she were being restrained not fully herself. Her parents were convinced that they had been too gentle with her and that this had an impact on her animagus.
From then on, although they were already strict, they became nothing but cold to their daughter. They tried their best to instill hatred, ambition and firmness in her, but Bonnie only thrived on empathy and love. Despite her efforts to compensate for her perceived weak personality, she redoubled her efforts to appear perfect in their eyes: she studied poisons with more interest, took her lessons in good behavior to be a respectable girl, maintained her relationship with Ominis and the Gaunts, but could not adhere to her parents' hateful ideas. When she was taken out to Hufflepuff instead of Slytherin, she ended up sobbing, knowing that she had disappointed them yet again. Which she did: it was yet another reason to prove to the rest of her family that she wasn't worthy of being the Hutchinson heiress. Her parents wanted to take her through the Sorting Hat ceremony again, but it refused.
Bonnie finally found a place that accepted her for who she was. Although she had difficulty making friends at first due to her status and to the Hutchinsons' ruthless reputation, her sociability and kindness helped make her popular, especially as she grew older. The people around her at school reinforced her peaceful values, but she felt torn between her morals and her duties. She had accepted her destiny as an heiress, until she fell in love with a half-blood and found a reason to fight for what she wanted.

FUTURE
At a family dinner near the end of her fifth year, Bonnie's mother was given a choice: leave her place as heiress to her brother and sons, or use any means to force her daughter to take her role seriously. Bonnie was unaware of this deal, and announced the breakup of her engagement to Ominis (absent that evening). With a heavy heart, Wilhelmina tried to cast an Impero spell on her daughter, but Basil narrowly warned her, and she could dodge it. Bonnie fled, her whole family on her heels to catch her, some to hurt her, others to prevent her from leaving. It was then that she was able to jump from the 4th-floor window. Her family exclaimed in terror, thinking she was going to kill herself, but she transformed into a butterfly and flew off, making everyone aware of her previously hidden animagus.
Bonnie fled to Imelda, who took her in with her parents. Her parents already knew her and welcomed her happily. Unfortunately, Wilhelmina tried to force her daughter to return home by getting Headmaster Black on her side, and threatening to remove her from Hogwarts. Bonnie took her aside and threatened her in turn, encouraged by Imelda, to reveal all the darkest secrets of their dark wizard family to the Ministry of Magic. Indeed, some time after running away, Bonnie secretly returned to their home to retrieve some of her belongings, as well as compromising documents, with the help of a house elf. Her horrified mother left her alone and disinherited her, and Bonnie was able to live with the Reyes in a warm cocoon. For although Bonnie lost her inheritance and her wealth, she found true love. She felt infinitely indebted to the Reyes, yet worried that her family would try anything against them. Fortunately, they were happy for her to disappear, leaving them free to designate a more worthy heir.
After Hogwarts, Bonnie and Imelda married. They live in a cottage in the middle of the forest, surrounded by nature. Bonnie works as a seller of plants of all kinds, spending her time pampering them and selling them to enthusiasts. She encourages Imelda in her career as a professional Quidditch player and is her greatest supporter. The wives adopted two children:
The first, a young disabled witch and future Gryffindor, is forced to stay in a walking (not rolling) chair because she can't use her legs. She has a strong personality and dreams of becoming a Quidditch player like Imelda, who encourages her to do so, and inherits more of her traits. Turbulent and hyperactive, she thrives only on sport and sweat, and hates magic theory. After Hogwarts, she was refused entry to all teams because of her disability. Not content to take it lying down, she went on to create the highly successful Parasports Quidditch, helped by Imelda.
The second one is a young werewolf whom Bonnie finds wounded near their home in the forest. He has been disowned by his pack of werewolves who live apart from the wizards because of the lack of wildness in him. The boy is physically imposing, but very shy and has trouble with social relationships. He will be homeschooled and Bonnie will take care of his education. Although his sister and mother encourage him to take advantage of his body to play Quidditch, he will thrive on quiet activities and prefers to spend time in Bonnie's garden. She will accompany him to the forest every full moon as a butterfly, and tries her best to make his situation as pleasant as possible.
Bonnie may have cut ties with her family, but her cousin Basil, now grown up (whom she hasn't seen since she finished her studies at Hogwarts), found her and they renewed contact. He tells her that since she left, Ambrose and Archibald have been fighting a mortal battle day after day to see who will become the leader of their family, splitting it into two distant clans in the process. He keeps his distance from the toxicity of their family, and is happy to meet Bonnie Reyes' new family. He will always be welcome and will visit them regularly.
The modest family will live happily ever after.

Golden
Word Count: ~250
Pairing: Sebastian Sallow x reader
Synopsis: watching the sunset with your best friend within the grassland vivarium.
Tumblr media
You sit on the edge of a cliff overlooking crashing waves hundreds of feet below as you gaze out towards the setting sun. It moves slowly over the cascading mountains in the distance, gifting the ripples below and everything else in its wake with a shimmering, golden cast that reflects like diamonds off the surface.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” You hum, completely overtaken by the beauty a single room can provide.
A soft palm glides underneath your own and intertwines its fingertips between yours just as a fiery phoenix swoops overhead towards the descending sun. The winds that gust off the bird’s golden wings provide a perfect breeze in the warmth of the evening. It truly feels as if you’re in another place—another world—a dream. It brings a new sense of peace; it’s an inner bliss you never could’ve imagined existing within the walls of the castle you now call home.
“You’re beautiful,” Sebastian breathes and gives your hand a gentle squeeze. “Breathtaking actually.”
You smile softly, even though you wish you could conceal it. He’s always known just what to say to make you feel more alive no matter how many times you try to deny it.
In your new world where you’d invited him to watch the sunset with you, out the corner of your own eyes, you catch him staring at you as if you’re his. And that too, provides you with another sense of peace. One that only your true love, your best friend, can provide.

Preview: Saturn of Ultra
Tumblr media
cover photo: @newbienewness
A brief clip of an upcoming multi-chapter work titled Saturn of Ultra. Told over six parts, this AU explores a futuristic Hogwarts rebuilt after a massive catastrophe, the new threat to wizard-kind in the wake of such advancement, and an unlikely pairing that must work together to prevent history from repeating itself.
“This one’s mine,” Garreth nodded at the lineup of bikes, pointing out a sleek metal chassis fabricated for streamlined highway travel. His wand ignited the engine and it roared to life, a whir of gears and mechanicals in cooperation with their intended parts. He raised a brow towards his passenger for the evening. “Thoughts?”
“It’s no horse-drawn chariot,” She remarked with a huff, “looks a lot faster, for one thing.”
Pride pulled pink to the young wizard’s cheeks. “Oh yeah, it’s fast. Built it myself… ah, mostly that is. Prewett setup the drive train, he’d arse me if I didn’t give him proper credit.”
As Garreth donned a pair of leather gloves, she toed the crossroads where cobblestones intersected with the pulse of magnetic freeway, metaphoric contrasting of the star-crossed lovers lapsing different eras.
There was an obvious sense of unease in her jilted posture as she drew back and forth between the past and the present, teetering on the edge of time itself, caught between the comfort of the known and the irresistible pull of the unfamiliar.
“Hey, you don’t have to be afraid. I’d be a twat to put you in harm’s way ever again.” Garreth's voice slunk to that rich note where charisma cozied with comfort.
Still, she hesitated. “It just seems... so dangerous.” Her breathy laugh was tinted with the dim of apprehension.
Garreth stepped closer, letting the bike idle as he took her hand. The warmth of his palm already bled through the leather.
“Do you trust me?”

Fighter
Based on this request: Can you please write one Sebastian sallow X Reader. where the reader is known to be the most powerful dueler in the school, so the school sets a match between her house and another house but no one knows before the match she had a fight with seb making her lose all focus during the match causing whispers between the students knowing she never lost one before, and seb regreting the fight immediately after seeing her getting hurt and unable to focus and try to make amends after she loses despite her pushing him away.
Word Count: 3.4k
Themes: fluff, angst if you squint really hard, bad flirting written by a tired yours truly. Fem!Reader
Warnings: Potential spoilers for HL. As always, characters are in their seventh year and aged up to 18+. Physical violence (after a quick search, apparently the only form of fighting in a duel is magical, which means you can’t punch someone if you’ve been disarmed. There was however, no date to indicate how long this has been around, so I’ve taken some liberties). Also like one real swear word and a couple of everyday british insults I throw around daily
Also, if anyone’s curious, here’s the song I was listening to when the duel started
Tumblr media
Y/N twirled her wand nervously between her fingers as Natty, Poppy and Imelda continued to speak excitedly from around her. She half-listened to them, throwing in a smile or laugh every-so-often when it called for it but her attention was elsewhere. More specifically, it was across the room watching the brunet man in green robes talk to a younger, animated Gryffindor next to an obscenely large blackboard. Y/N narrowed her eyes at Sebastian, who continued to talk to an overly-excited Lucan Brattleby as the latter collected money for the bets that were being placed tonight.
Her eyes drifted to the board, satisfaction swelling in her once more as she looked over the tournament bracket which had eliminated more and more students until there were only four left standing, including her and Sebastian. She was due to duel Leander Prewett tonight, who sat on the other end of the hall from Y/N and occasionally looked over her way with a smug look on his face as if he had already won. He never did forgive her for calling him out back in fifth year and reminding him Sebastian was a better duellist.
“Are you even listening to us?” Imelda waved a hand in front of Y/N’s face.
“Not particularly,” she offered her friend an overly sweet smile, knowing how to push her buttons. “Leander won’t stop staring.” The girls all looked at Leander in unison and Y/N didn’t have to watch Imelda to know she was sneering at him. She never did quite get over him badmouthing their house, or Sebastian (even though she would never admit it out loud).
“He’ll soon be sulking when he has to go up against you,” Natty nudged her gently, a grin on her face. “There’s a reason everyone has lost to you so far, you are a force to be reckoned with.”
“How positively Slytherin of you, I’m starting to think Imelda and I are bad influences,” Y/N laughed and shook her head. “I suppose Y/N the Invincible does have a nice ring to it.”
Her gaze trailed to the opposite end of the room again as Natty and Imelda dove into a conversation about which title would be best for her when she won the Crossed Wands tournament, her wand still spinning in between her fingers. She caught Sebastian’s eye this time, her movements slowing as they stared at each other from across the room. He hardly acknowledged her before turning away and facing Ominis, who had come to support them both in tonight’s semi-finals. Sebastian had not long finished his duel against Charlotte Morrison and it came to no surprise that he had won.
“Are you both still fighting?” Poppy asked her quietly, trying not to attract the attention of the girls who sat with them.
“Apparently,” Y/N sniffed in annoyance and looked away from Sebastian as he laughed loudly at something Ominis said to him.
“What even happened between the two of you?”
“Your guess is as good as mine.” Y/N wasn’t being obtuse, she truly didn’t know how things had escalated so badly between them. Those who knew they weren’t speaking were surprised - Y/N had always come across as patient and understanding, and more than forgiving to those who didn’t deserve it. Only the people closest to her knew how quick she was to react behind closed doors.
She sighed and rolled her shoulders, itching for the duel for Leander so that she could release some of the pent up frustrations that had been brewing within her for the past few days. She supposed it was a little unfair to take her annoyance at Sebastian out on Leander, but every time the latter smirked at her she felt the guilt ease a little. Prick, she watched as he pretended to flex his muscles to the group of Gryffindors he was sitting with. As if she hadn’t already beat him in the very same tournament last year or the year before that.
“Duellists, take your positions!” Lucan called out. Poppy, Imelda and Natty all squeezed her arm in reassurance and wished her luck before making their way to the doorway of the bell tower clockyard where the gate would keep them safe from any errant spells.
“Good luck, Y/N,” Ominis grinned at her as she neared him and Sebastian. “I’d say I can’t wait to see you thrash Prewett but well…” She laughed and let him grasp her shoulder. “I’ve got a lot of money on you.”
“No pressure then.” Her eyes wandered to Sebastian, who was standing next to his best friend. He looked away as he caught her gaze, hands stuffed into his pockets.
“Come on, Ominis. We need to get behind the gate.”
“Are you not going to wish Y/N good luck Sebastian?” Ominis tilted his head in his direction, a small smirk playing on the corner of his mouth. Prat. Sebastian looked at her from the corner of his eye and let out a quiet sigh.
“Good luck, Y/L/N.”
“I’ll see you in the finals, Sallow.” She watched as he rolled his eyes at her words and turned to leave without another word, tugging Ominis in the right direction gently.
“Are you ready, Y/N?” Lucan asked her, his eyes darting between her and Sebastian’s retreating figure. Lucan, like everyone, was more than curious to know what had happened between the pair, but was smart enough not to ask her directly - there was a reason he organised her duels instead of battling against her. He couldn’t help but grimace as he looked over to Leander to check if he was ready, Y/N was going to eat him alive if he kept on sneering at her like that. “No funny business,” he looked pointedly at Y/N, who gave him an innocent smile in response, and turned to walk behind the barrier and closed the gate.
“You can give up now, Y/L/N,” Leander called out to her, “no harm in conceding.”
“I thought you Gryffindors loved a good fight. Not quite a victory if you win by default, is it Prewett?” Y/N laughed as Leander snarled and shot a disarming charm her way. She didn’t even need to deflect it with protego, she simply stepped aside and let the spell fizzle against the wall behind her. “You’re going to have to do better than that if you want to finally beat me.”
“Shut up!” he snapped, sending a barrage of spells her way. Y/N flung a quick shield up, gritting her teeth in concentration as a range of charms and jinxes were flung at her. He didn’t give her a chance to retaliate, going full on offensive due to his anger at her. Her shield finally shattered as he shot another disarming charm at her, a smug grin on his features as it clattered uselessly and rolled away behind her. “What are you going to do now? Can’t fight without a wand.”
“Can’t I?” Y/N smirked at him and levitated him with a wave of her hand.
“You’re not supposed to use your abilities!” Leander protested, legs flailing as he hovered midair.
“Oh, I’m not. It’s called wandless magic, Prewett. Something you’d be able to do if you actually paid attention in class.” With that Y/N cast a summoning spell on him, pulling him right up in front of her before punching him square in the face. Leander spluttered as he fell to the floor, one sleeve of his robe holding his now bloody nose.
“You hit me!” he looked over at Lucan, who looked just as stunned by her decision. “Surely that isn’t allowed?”
“I…” Lucan looked at a loss for words. “I don’t know! No one’s ever resorted to physical violence before!” Lucan looked up at Sebastian, who just shrugged at him.
“Disqualify her!”
“Don’t you dare!” Imelda, Poppy and Natty all glared at Lucan, who looked very uncomfortable with everyone watching him for an answer. Y/N shook her hand out and took the opportunity to grab her wand as she waited for Lucan to decide if she was disqualified or not. She wouldn’t apologise for resulting to physical violence (I literally just set him on fire, how is punching him any worse) she would be rather annoyed if she was removed from the tournament. She and Sebastian had a running tally over the past few years on which one of them was the best duellist in the school, and if she lost to him this year because of this…he would never let her live it down. If he decided to speak to her, that is.
She looked over at him as Lucan took a moment to deliberate her fate with Leander still whining in the background on how she might have broken his nose. He was already staring at her, arms crossed, and an expression on his face that she couldn’t quite read from this distance. Her stomach flipped uselessly as she refused to break eye contact with him, silently challenging him to look away first. She watched as Ominis muttered something to him, presumably asking what was going on, and he replied without looking away.
She raised one of her eyebrows, silently questioning him if they were still arguing. He gave her a flat look as if to say what do you think before finally breaking away and turning to speak to Ominis. Y/N felt her eyes burn in frustration as she turned her back on him and instead watched the pendulum for the clock tower swing back and forth slowly. How was she supposed to fix things between them when she didn’t even know what she did wrong? She knew she wasn’t guiltless in their fight - they had both snapped some particularly awful things at each other - but she didn’t know how to approach him so they could settle this. For all of the good qualities Y/N could list about Sebastian (and there were many) he was as stubborn as a mule and refused to see when he was in the wrong.
“The fight will continue!” Lucan called out, breaking her from her thoughts. “Just…maybe don’t do that again, will you Y/N?” Leander protested loudly at allowing her to continue, but the noise was drowned out by the loud cheers coming from the group that had come to support her. She watched in amusement as Poppy pulled Lucan into a hug and his face went an impressive shade of red that revealed the colour of his robes. “I suppose I need to add that going forward all duels will be fought with magic only, and no physical contact will be tolerated.” He looked up at Sebastian again, who nodded in confirmation - not that he would ever lay a hand on her (or any woman for that matter).
Y/N couldn’t concentrate as the duel picked back up and barely managed to protect herself from yet another disarming charm that Leander shot her way, as if he weren’t already aware that she could do wandless magic. She was thoroughly distracted by her silent interaction with Sebastian, the words from their previous fight clouding her judgement. She couldn’t believe this had all come from a stupid, simple misunderstanding.
Y/N felt her wand fly from her hand moments before she flew backwards and she collided with some of the training dummies Lucan had tucked into the corner of the room. She clutched at her stomach as she rolled into her knees, wincing slightly as pain lanced up her side. There was a loud ringing in her ears from the blast, and she could barely hear Leander cheering from the other end of the hall, boasting on how he had managed to beat one of Hogwarts top duellists.
“Y/N!” Her vision swam as someone in a green cloak pressed a Wiggenweld potion to her lips, their hand resting lightly on her back as more people crowded around them. “Give her some air, back off!” She would recognise Sebastian’s voice anywhere.
“I’m fine, give me a minute.” She tried to shrug him off, but only succeeded in tilting to the left haphazardly. She felt Sebastian grab her elbow before she could hit her head again and pull her towards him, her head coming to rest on his shoulder as the room spun around her. “Why are you helping me?” She could hear Natty and Poppy shoo everyone off to give her some space and there was no mistaking Imelda’s angry voice from the other end of the room, berating Leander for his abysmal showmanship.
“Do you think just because we had a stupid argument I would stop caring for you?” Sebastian gently touched the back of her head, looking for signs of a welt or a bump.
“I was horrid to you.”
“I wasn’t exactly the nicest myself,” he murmured. Y/N waited a couple of more minutes for the dizziness to subside, her fingers fiddling with Sebastian’s sleeve as she listened to his thundering heartbeat.
“Your heart is beating so fast.”
“Yes well, I did just watch you get flung thirty feet across a room as if you were a ragdoll.”
“I’m okay,” Y/N tilted her head to look up at him with a small smile. The potion had made its way through her body and it no longer hurt every time she breathed. “You worry too much.”
“I think I worry about you just the right amount,” he scoffed, pressing a kiss to her temple. “I’m going to have a conniption one of these days because of you.”
“Won’t that be a sight,” she teased, laughing quietly. She could feel him chuckle silently beside her and let her eyes slip closed once more.
“Did the potion not work? Do I need to take you to Blainey?”
“No, no, I’m fine. I’m just enjoying the moment.”
“Here in my arms, you mean?”
“No, you prick,” she rolled her eyes at him and gently flicked his knee. “I meant without everyone breathing down my neck to see if I’m alright.”
“Ah, well, I think they’re a little scared of your reaction to be honest. No one’s ever seen you lose a duel before.”
“I can’t believe Prewett beat me,” she groaned, burying her head in the crook of Sebastian’s neck. “As if he wasn’t insufferable before. I shouldn’t have let myself become so distracted.”
“I saw the change in you when the duel picked back up; what were you thinking about?”
“You.”
“Me?” Sebastian looked down at her. “Don’t tell me you got hurt because you were too busy thinking about our fight.” He groaned as she shrugged casually and took her head in his hands gently. “I’m so sorry, sweetheart.”
“For the fight or because I got hurt during a wizard duel?”
“Both,” he replied seriously, brushing some hair from her eyes. “I’ve been trying to figure out how to approach you and apologise all day. I was going to do it before our duels but I let my pride get the best of me.”
“I’m well aware of the pitfalls of Slytherin pride, thank you very much.” Y/N took his hands from her face and held them between her own. “I’ve been doing the same thing. I tried to get here before your duel with Charlotte so I could apologise, but I was too late. You looked even more annoyed that I missed your fight so I stayed away.”
“We make quite a pair.”
“Don’t we?” Y/n smiled coyly at him before sighing loudly (and rather dramatically, Sebastian thought). “Leander fucking Prewett. I’ll have to go into hiding from the shame. Will you avenge me?”
“Of course,” Sebastian laughed at her theatrics, his thumb brushing over her knuckles. “I’ll fight valiantly in your honour.”
“To the death?”
“If you want.”
“Hm.” She pretended to think about it, tapping her chin lightly. “No, not to the death. I couldn’t bear it if your pretty face was sent to Azkaban.”
“I’m sure you’ll find a way to talk them out of sending me there. You already have once.”
“On second thought, maybe I’ll let you rot there for the rest of your life just for the sheer audacity.”
“You’d miss me and my pretty face too much,” Sebastian grinned and pulled her closer until she was sitting between his legs. “If it helps, I think you’re rather beautiful too.”
“I didn’t say I found you beautiful.”
“Not directly to me, no,” he leant in so he could whisper in her ear, “but you girls aren’t as quiet as you think you are when you start discussing which wizards in the school are attractive. For the record, I find it a little offensive that you think I would be so smug about it.”
“Aren’t you?” Y/N pulled back so she could read his expression. “Anyway, you know you’re attractive, you don’t need me to tell you.”
“No, but it would be nice.”
“In your dreams, Sallow.”
“You? Constantly, yes.” Sebastian grinned at the blush that came to her cheeks and couldn’t help but press a sweet kiss to her face. “As much as I enjoy flirting with you while we sit here, I should probably let the girls come and check on you now.”
“This was you flirting? I never would have been able to tell.” She shot him a sly smile and let him pull her to her feet slowly, taking note of his hands that hovered cautiously in case she showed any signs of her previous lightheadedness. Y/N would deny it if anyone asked - especially Sebastian - but she may have clutched onto his toned bicep as they stood, feigning a slight wobble so that he would wrap an arm around her waist to steady her.
“You don’t need to fall to my feet, darling, you already have my attention.”
“You’re insufferable.”
“I think you meant to say dashingly handsome.”
“You’re alright.”
“Would it kill you to compliment me one time? I did just technically save you.”
“From Leander,” Y/N scoffed. She watched as he pretended to look put out with her and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. “My hero, however will I repay you?” she batted her eyelashes at him playfully, and Sebastian could feel his heartbeat pick up at the smile that she was giving him, which was anything but innocent. He couldn’t help but look down at her lips, wondering if he would get a smack from her for even daring to take a glance.
Y/N was more than aware of what he was thinking, she had practically seen the words well I can think of a few things as he looked down at her mouth. A part of her was aware that their friends still lingered in the room after clearing everyone out, but she didn’t really care who was watching as she stood on the tips of her toes and pressed her lips to Sebastian’s softly. She felt his arms tighten around her, pulling her closer as he kissed her back.
“You both disgust me.” Y/N heard both Poppy and Natty shush Imelda rather loudly and felt her face flush as she reluctantly pulled away from the kiss. Sebastian followed her, chasing her lips so that he could continue to kiss her, much to Imelda’s displeasure. With a red face, Y/N pressed her face to Sebastian’s chest, laughing quietly as she heard Poppy explain to Ominis what the fuss was about.
“We need new friends,” Sebastian muttered in her ear. Y/N didn’t agree as she turned to look at the group watching them. Despite Imelda’s protests, all three of the witches had large grins plastered on their faces, and even Ominis looked happy for them (if a little red in the face at their public display of affection). Sebastian pressed a sweet kiss to her temple, muttering a request for them to sneak away together to continue their session away from prying eyes and as Y/N took his hand so that he could lead her away she found that she didn’t even care that she had lost the duel to Leander. Besides, she could always get him back next time.

Love Languages with the HL girls
The girls and their love languages. Tags: Fluff, fluff, fluff (very, very slight angst) This HC set contains characters: Natty, Poppy, and Imelda. Rating: General Audiences. ..
Summary: My HC's for the girls' love languages!
Tumblr media
Natsai:
Natty’s love language is Acts of Service.
Much like Ominis, Natty loves giving and receiving service.
She always loves giving help but also receiving it.
Especially since a young age, she’s felt like she needed to do everything by herself.
Need help with homework? She’s on it.
Need help taking down a poacher camp? She’s there before you are (this is realistic).
But also when she receives service, it makes her heart feel so warm knowing someone cares.
Poppy:
Poppy’s love language is Physical touch.
She loves the assurance of a good hug. A tight, warm, loving hug.
Because unfortunately, she didn’t get that much affection as a child so she loves any physical affection she can get.
Cuddling with beasts too?? Instant therapy.
Although she’s more reserved about physical affection–only really wanting it from close friends or people she trusts.
But for real, she is over the moon whenever someone she loves and cares about hugs her.
Even something as simple as that is so comforting to her.
Imelda:
Imelda’s love language is Words of affirmation.
She’s an overachiever in the coolest way possible.
So if it's from someone she cares about and they tell her that they are proud of her or that she did a good job, it means a lot to her.
Sometimes she feels like people are just giving compliments to her and not really meaning them.

Weasley's Tutoring Services
Garreth might be a potions prodigy, but he might not be the best tutor... Or, moments of Garreth tutoring over the years.
Credit to @garrethweasleyfest as this is my contribution to the event! My prompt was about Garreth tutoring, so I hope you all like the direction I went with this! With a bit of Garrelda :]

Garreth was a simple young man: he was a carefree but responsible enough student that loved Potions. He was deemed a potions prodigy, after all. That might have been a self-appointed title, but it still rang true in his mind. He was also willing to help his friends out in any way, which led to him happily offering tutoring services to his best mate Leander.
They were in their second year working on an essay Sharp assigned them, and Garreth frowned at a part Leander wrote.
“No, that’s still not right.”
Leander sighed. “Garreth, what do you mean this time?”
“This is the Hair-Raising Potion! You don’t just…” He leaned in to read what Leander wrote. “‘Sprinkle in half a dozen’ rat tails!” He groaned and put his hands up to his hair. “We went over this! Always an odd number for hair, and always an even number for skin!”
“But, why?” Leander was starting to look fed up.
“That’s just how it works!” Garreth crossed his arms. “Why can’t you get this? It’s so simple!”
“I don’t think so!” Leander huffed and started to gather his things.
Garreth blinked, nonplussed. “What are you doing?”
“I’m leaving! You’re a terrible tutor!” In all of his twelve-year-old dignity, Leander stormed out of the Gryffindor common room.
Garreth winced at hearing the door of their dorm slam shut. He merely sighed and went back to writing. He didn’t understand why Leander couldn’t comprehend potions like he could, but maybe it was for the best of their friendship that he didn’t tutor him from now on.
The next time he tried, it was third year, and Sharp thought it best to have Garreth help Ominis out. They were partnered in writing about the Shrinking Solution, and Garreth was starting to understand how Ominis worked in spite of his blindness. It took time as he had to change the books to be Braille so he could read, and then he had to have a certain spell to enchant a quill to write what he wanted written. It was tedious, and Garreth managed to be fine with it for the most part.
Then Garreth noticed the quill missed to say “hairy” for the caterpillars. That detail was important! If it wasn’t a hairy caterpillar, the potion wouldn’t be effective. He wanted to chime in, but he thought about his disaster in helping Leander. He didn’t want to scorn the Slytherin, especially when he’s already doing enough for their homework.
He sighed and went back to his own essay. He made the Shrinking Solution before, so he had a good insight on writing in depth about the potion. Maybe if he got high enough marks, Sharp would be willing to let him experiment some more…
He checked on Ominis again and internally groaned at seeing he missed the detail of the wormwood having to be “well-shaken”. How did the book get it so wrong? It was obviously failing Ominis!
Garreth tried to stay patient, but then he let out a short breath at seeing there was hardly any mention of the color of the potion throughout the stages of the brewing.
The Slytherin apparently had enough and put his wand down. The quill ceased from writing more. He turned to Garreth, completely disgruntled.
“What?” Ominis impatiently asked.
“What’s what?”
“I can sense agitation exuding from your body that’s as potent as bubotuber pus.” He lifted a vexed blond eyebrow. “So what is it?”
Garreth believed Ominis truly wanted to know, so he cleared his throat. “Well, since you asked…” He tapped his quill onto the first paragraph. “You didn’t mention that the blood of the juiced Shrivelfigs are in fact ruby red.”
Ominis mulled that over. “It’s blood, doesn’t that mean it’s already red?”
Garreth hesitated. “Not exactly, no. ‘Blood’ of plants doesn’t require them to be red like a human’s blood.”
“Color is always harder for me to write anyway,” Ominis admitted. He turned away, but Garreth caught the dejected expression. He sighed and tapped his wand onto the quill and parchment. The quill started to fix the spot, and he asked, “Anything else?”
“Actually yes,” Garreth said while perking up. He leaned over to point higher up. “The caterpillars need to be written as hairy. Otherwise, it leaves the detail ambiguous. You can also add in why the hairs of a caterpillar are crucial, since it ensures the potion to boil in the first stage.”
Ominis nodded and started to have the quill edit accordingly.
“You also need to add in that the wormwood is well-shaken,” Garreth added, watching the quill carefully.
Ominis’s eyebrows furrowed just the slightest.
“Any other way of preparing wormwood would make the potion flat and become drab even in color. Oh, and when you heat the potion more and more, the colors of the potion drastically change. So it’s yellow, then turquoise…”
Ominis started to scowl, and Garreth winced.
“You know, I’ll just write it for you,” he insisted, taking Ominis’s paper and ignoring the enchanted quill. He waved his wand and cleared out the entire essay before starting to write it himself. “We can just charm it later to look like your handwriting.”
“I never thought you’d be pedantic, Weasley,” Ominis coolly mused, leaning his cheek against his fist.
“I am when it’s about potions,” he dismissively replied, intent on doing the essay right.
Safe to say after that, Ominis didn’t partner with Garreth again. While Ominis got an Outstanding, he stubbornly insisted that he wanted to do the work himself, even if that meant he’d get worse marks.
Garreth understood that, and he scratched the back of his head as he wondered if he did cross a line. Despite him wanting Ominis to do well, he probably shouldn’t have written Ominis’s essay for him…
Fourth year, Gryffindor welcomed a new student named Natsai Onai. One day, Garreth found her by the fireplace in the common room, working on their potions assignment.
“Oh, would you like some help?” Garreth offered.
She looked up at him with intrigue shining in her eyes. “Garreth, right?”
“That’s me.” He grinned. “I’m pretty much a potions prodigy.” He tilted his head at her parchment. He was already done with his, and he saw some similarities between what Natty already wrote and what he had. He leaned down to point at a section. “Actually, Golpalott’s Third Law—”
“Stop!” Leander shouted, making Natty and Garreth jump.
He was all the way across the common room with his hand outstretched. He quickly beelined to them, ignoring the other Gryffdinors giving him weird looks.
He huffed at them and crossed his arms. “Natty, you probably shouldn’t have Garreth help you with potions.”
“Rude,” Garreth tutted.
“No, he’s right, Garreth,” Nellie piped up from her favorite spot in the ceiling awnings above them. She gave him a sympathetic smile from her high place. “You’re not the best tutor.”
He frowned up at her. “Look, I know that I’ve been…passionate about it.”
“Pedantic,” Leander corrected.
“Nagging,” Nellie offered.
“I’ve gotten better, haven’t I?” He cried out with his hands on his hips.
“You almost made Lucan cry!” Nellie exclaimed.
He flushed with shame as he remembered helping the third year with his homework. He…might have raised his voice when the boy didn’t listen to him about why ingredients had to be a powder instead of diced for specific concoctions.
Natty looked at Garreth with contempt. “Why would you scorn the boy?”
“I didn’t mean to! He just wouldn’t listen!”
“Because you kept yelling at him,” Leander pointed out in a mutter.
Garreth glared at him. “You’re not helping.” He sighed and rubbed his forehead. “I’m…I don’t know, I just wish potions were easier for others to understand.”
“Maybe you just need to comprehend that while it comes easily to you, it doesn’t for others,” Natty reasoned. “In Uagadou, it would at first be hard for us to wandless magic. Some got it instantly while others needed more light shed on the concept. I was more of the latter until I received some help.”
Garreth hummed and put a hand to his chin. “How would you suggest I comprehend that, then?”
“It’s not always about the tutor talking to the learner,” Natty explained. “The tutor also needs to listen, converse. Understand what your peer is struggling with, and figure out the right approach.”
He tried to keep that in mind when he pointed out a detail on Leander’s homework a week later. His best mate eyed him warily, but Garreth managed to listen better about what Leander struggled on. While his pride in potions made him mildly irritated Leander still couldn’t grasp it, he still did his best to stay patient. In the end, Leander was pleased with the progress he made, and he thanked Garreth with a small smile.
Despite the improvement, Garreth’s reputation of the past led to more people kindly (or not so kindly) turning his tutoring services down throughout the year. He supposed that was fine; any extra time he has, he can spend it on experimenting and Quidditch. The former was fun as he is learning more and being more innovative. The latter was fun in creating camaraderie with his team and witty banter with other teams. He was delighted to see he managed to make Imelda unbelievably and even adorably flustered during one game.
A month into fifth year, Garreth was busy writing modifications on a new concoction in the library. Strewn around him were several alchemy and potions books, something akin to a nest.
Polite throat clearing made him look up, and he blinked in surprise to see Andrew Larson with two new faces in tow.
Garreth looked at the Hufflepuff girl and the Ravenclaw boy that seemed to have the same features and same colored hair and eyes. He finally recognized them when he saw the three-clawed scars on their faces. Of course, the Ilson twins! The new fifth-years, how could he forget?
“Cael, Estelle, I’m sure you remember Garreth,” Andrew said.
Estelle nodded and gave him a small wave. Cael merely looked at him with a disconcerted expression on his face. Garreth smiled and waved back all the same. Estelle was kind enough to do him some favors, in fact, and he had never forgotten that. Cael, well, he was aware how much of a rule stickler he was.
Andrew regarded Garreth with a curious raise of his eyebrows. “Would you be willing to help them out with the essay about the different uses of plants for potions?”
He tilted his head. “Why not you?”
He was aware Andrew matched his wits and they even went into thought-provoking conversations before about potions, Sebastian included sometimes too.
“I technically have a tutor,” Cael piped up. “Especially about Herbology.”
Estelle rolled her eyes with a smile. “Well, I was the one to ask about some extra help, and you insisted on coming along.”
He frowned at his sister. “If you think I’m leaving you unsupervised with an eligible young man—”
“Whoa,” Garreth protested, holding up his hands. “Your sister might be cute—”
He winced at his horrible choice of words as Cael instantly directed his frown and death glare at him.
“But I’m not interested in her in that way!” He was even betting a few Knuts that Estelle and Sebastian were going to be an item. Everyone could see their attraction was right there.
“To answer your question, Garreth,” Andrew added before Cael said something as scathing as his look directed at the Gryffindor, “I know you are the most knowledgeable of potions. If I were to recommend anyone to learn more, I would offer the best person for it.”
Garreth chuckled. “You know my record, though, Andrew.”
“No better way to improve than to keep at it.”
Estelle tilted her head. “Would you be willing to help me, Garreth?”
He grinned. “Of course! I am a potions prodigy, after all. There’s no point to having all this knowledge if I can’t share it.”
Cael crossed his arms as he watched Estelle start to sit across from Garreth and get her supplies out. “Are you sure—?”
“Cael,” she groaned, looking up at him with exasperation. “I’ll be fine. It’s just homework.”
He hesitated before accepting it. “Very well. I’ll be with Artemis about our own session.” He patted Estelle’s shoulder, and she smiled at the affection. “See you later.”
“See you,” she chirped. She looked at the other Ravenclaw. “Thank you again, Andrew.”
“Not a problem,” he replied before meeting Garreth’s eyes. He gave him a meaningful look that Garreth understood as don’t mess it up.
He replied with a nod, and he watched the two Ravenclaws leave them alone in the library. He turned to Estelle with a curious expression.
“Cael’s tutor is Artemis?”
Estelle hummed with affirmation while her russet brown eyes danced with amusement. “I thought she could help me with Herbology too, but I instantly saw how my brother looked at her.”
Garreth let out a small, astounded laugh. “I thought I saw something too!” He leaned forward with a grin. “Any chance you’d like to wager on when they’ll court?”
Estelle snorted. “I don’t think that’s a productive use of money, Garreth,” she playfully replied. Her eyes lit up as if she remembered something. “Oh, what is your fee, by the way, for tutoring?”
He waved it off with a smile. “Consider this as me returning the favor of getting me that Fwooper feather and stealing those Billywig stings for me.”
“I didn’t steal, I left the proper amount of money behind,” she mildly corrected.
“A goody-two-shoes, eh?” Garreth teased with an arched eyebrow.
Estelle nervously laughed and wrung her hands. “I, er, have never been one to really break rules before…”
Garreth caught her solemn tone and knew this was probably touching a more serious part about her past.
Garreth cleared his throat. “Let’s start with the Syrup of Hellebore,” he said to change the topic.
Estelle’s shoulders slumped and opened her own library book about such a potion ingredient. It didn’t take long for the two of them to get to work.
Garreth overviewed what she was writing, making sure she got all the right details. He had to be impressed that Estelle might be a new student and new to the Wizarding World, but she caught on quickly enough. She did mention enjoying the potions class, but this showed how much she did like this subject. Even so, she was still naive about some branches of alchemy.
“Powdered ingredients need to be added when the potion is brewing, and the liquids with high viscosity go in when the potion is simmering,” Garreth quietly corrected as he read her writing upside-down.
Estelle glanced at him and gave him an apologetic smile before working on fixing it. “I think that makes sense. In a way, it’s like cooking and baking.”
Garreth opened his mouth about to go into a long-winded discussion on how alchemy was not like culinary work. He considered if that was a good idea to shut down someone’s way to possibly understand a new subject to them by connecting it to something they know. Then he refrained from saying anything, only nodding a little.
Their little session was over, and the two of them started to pack up and close all of the books they used.
“I appreciate all the help, Garreth,” she added, giving him a sincere smile. “Thank you.
He easily smiled back. “Of course you’re welcome, Estelle. If you have any questions or need any potion help, just let me know.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” she happily said.
Estelle must have had connections or made a lot of friends because a few other students came to Garreth for help with potions. Garreth’s common haunts that year were now the potions classroom, his secret Honeydukes passage, and the library.
One day in the library, a particular peer took him by surprise.
Garreth stared up at Imelda, who was tightly holding onto the strap of her school bag. “Reyes?” He curiously asked with a tilt of his head.
She flushed at being addressed, and she looked at him with a guarded expression. “Are you still offering tutoring for potions, Weasley?”
“I am, but…aren’t you already doing fine in the class?”
“I’m doing fine, not great,” she emphasized. “There’s a difference.”
Garreth stifled a laugh. “I don’t think having high marks like O’s in potions will amount to anything for a Quidditch player.”
“I’d prefer having high marks in all my classes anyway.” She frowned. “Are you willing to help me or not?”
He shrugged and pulled out the chair beside him. As Imelda sat down, he caught a whiff of roses. Which reminded him of a different flower… He quickly wrote a note on his parchment of innovation ideas: More moly = more potent?
“Estelle told me that you did a great job with her,” Imelda remarked as she got her own parchment and books out.
“Yeah, she’s a pretty good student,” he answered.
Imelda paused and turned to him. “Did you just say she’s pretty?”
His eyebrows furrowed at her rather demanding tone before facing her. “I said she’s a ‘pretty good student’.”
Imelda instantly blushed and looked back at her supplies. “Oh.” She cleared her throat. “Right.”
Garreth was confused by her strange attitude, but he chose to brush it off as it being some “woman” thing. That was how his older brother and father reasoned some behavior of the fairer sex.
“So, there’s the part about porcupine quills,” Imelda hurriedly said while her cheeks were still pink. “It has to be prepared whole or powdered.”
“That’s right,” Garreth affirmed, the knowledge instantly popping in his head, along with names of potions that required the specific preparation.
“But…why?” She asked.
Garreth felt a sense of deja vu from when Leander would ask the same question numerous times as he failed to grasp potion logic.
Imelda flipped through her book, one Garreth quickly recognized to be mainly focused on potion ingredients derived from creatures.
“So Cure for Boils and Elixir to Induce Euphoria both require whole quills. But the Draught of Peace needs powdered quills.” Imelda gave him a deadly serious expression as she added, “I want to know why exactly there’s a specific difference, because chances are this will be asked in our O.W.L.s.”
Garreth stared at her, pleasantly surprised by her inquisition. He wasn’t used to in-depth questions like this before. Others would just take what he says and write it down, but never asked for more than what was required in their assignments. The fact she was also taking this very seriously, a subject he was passionate about, made him all the more fascinated by her.
Why did his heart beat faster too?
His lips twitched up into a smile and he moved a little closer. “So, for powdered quills, it’s easier to dissolve in lower heat. That’s why powdered ingredients are added when the potion is simmering for the most part. For whole quills, you need higher heat so it properly melts. For some potions, you never simmer, so powdered quills—or other other powdered ingredients—are not required…”
Imelda looked at him with utmost attention as he continued to explain his answers for her questions. She would even ask more questions from his explanations, going more extensively into plant ingredients after covering ingredients from creatures, and then about different potions that could be mentioned in O.W.L.s.
When they finished their work and started packing up, Imelda muttered to him, “Thanks, Garreth.”
He barely managed a “you’re welcome” before she practically bolted out of the library. He blinked in surprise as he realized that she addressed him by his first name for once. Not only that, but he was certain he caught a smile in her eyes too…
That strange sensation in his heart was back as he put his school bag on his shoulder and left the library. He wasn’t sure why he felt this way, but he did know he enjoyed that session with Imelda. He appreciated her for taking in everything and asking more about topics he brushed on. Even though he knew she wanted the information just in case for their exams, it still thrilled him to see someone care about potions and even be able to follow along with him. It might come easily to him, but she was able to catch on well enough.
He smiled to himself, hoping to have more stimulating sessions with Imelda in the near future.
A year later, Garreth leaned his cheekbone against his fist as he watched his studying partner. Imelda was right next to him, tight-lipped with concentration while she kept writing the essay Sharp assigned them.
“I can’t focus when you’re staring,” she muttered eventually when she took a break to dip the quill into the inkwell.
He smiled and used his free hand to gently rub her back. She instantly relaxed from his touch, and he quietly said, “I can’t help but be enthralled by you, luv.”
She scoffed with a tiny smile, giving him a fond and exasperated look while her cheeks stayed beautifully pink. “You’re laying it on thick, aren’t you?”
Garreth chuckled and leaned closer to her, nosing her cheek before kissing it. “I don’t think I am when it’s my own girlfriend,” he playfully said, feeling her warmth against his lips.
He reveled in seeing Imelda barely keep composure. He was well aware only he was allowed to be like this with her, and he was pleased to be the exception.
“You’re supposed to be helping me with the assignment,” she remarked in a low voice, glancing at him. Warmth rushed through him at catching soft desire in her chocolate brown eyes.
He thoughtfully hummed and looked at her essay, still staying close with his hand on her back, and the other lightly resting on her parchment.
He caught the sweet scent of roses as she moved her ponytail to rest on her other shoulder.
“You know, I think roses are my favorite flowers,” he mused.
“Because of my shampoo?” She coyly asked with an arched eyebrow a lithe smile.
“They also have many uses for potions,” he explained.
“Care to tell me about them?” He lit up and was about to, but then she pressed her finger against his lips to stop him. She smirked and added, “After you help me.”
Merlin, she knew how to keep him wrapped around her finger. He gave her finger a little kiss, making her blink in surprise, and he grinned smugly.
“You drive a hard bargain, but I agree to the terms and conditions.”
Imelda chuckled and moved her finger away, and he read through her essay. It was concise, and gave immaculate details about the different roots used in potions.
“Seems to be in order,” he said. “You wrote very well.” He smiled at seeing her gratified from his praise. “You might give me a run for my money.”
Imelda chuckled and started writing the next paragraph. “Thank you, Garreth.” Her smile went away as she focused back on the essay. “I just need to include the reason why Asphodel has to be powdered while the roots do not…”
Garreth knew the answer, having even written it out on his own assignment. But then she quickly said,
“Wait, it has to be powdered so it’s easier to dissolve, especially since in the Draught of the Living Death, powdered root of Asphodel is the second ingredient added to it,” she decisively said. She glanced at him, looking a bit unsure as he just stared at her for a long time. “Er…Garreth?”
“Merlin, you’re even more gorgeous right now.” Hearing her talk about potions like this, and being thorough about the differences of root preparations, made warmth flood through him tenfold.
Imelda blinked and blushed hard, making her even more tantalising to him. “G-Garreth,” she breathed out.
He gave into his desire and cupped her cheek as he surged forward and kissed her deeply. She melted and reciprocated without hesitation, burying a hand into his hair. He hummed against her lips, feeling more warmth settle in his core as he felt insatiable for more of her.
“Garreth,” she sighed. He was about to kiss her again, addicted to her lips, but she pointed out, “We’re still in the library.”
He paused, and checked their surroundings. Even though they were in a secluded part of the library, students or even Scribner could come across them.
He swallowed hard, still wanting to snog his lovely girlfriend. He leaned close, feeling her quickened breathing against his lips.
“How about we take a break from studying? I think there’s a broom closet close by,” he suggested in a murmur laden with yearning.
Imelda thought it over for a moment before she eagerly whispered, “okay.”
The two instantly rose to their feet and hurried outside the library hand-in-hand. Safe to say Garreth’s favorite tutoring sessions were indeed the ones with Imelda.

THEIR REACTION :
Sebastian:
He gets up and dusts himself off without noticing how devasted you were at first.
"It seems like I'm the one who's in your debt now. I owe you- Y/N? Are you crying?"
He almost runs to you the moment he notices.
"What is wrong? Are you hurt? Are you bleeding? Tell me!"
He is extremely worried. He doesn't know why you're crying. When you explain to him you were really afraid of losing him like you lost so many people in your life, he got really quiet for a moment.
"You'll never lose me. We're a team, the best team even. If we stick together and protect eachother, nothing could ever happen to one of us. Besides, I am an excellent duellist!... Look at me Y/N..."
He lifts your chin up to make you meet his gaze. You could see how concerned he was. He wipes away some of your tears with his fingers.
"I'll be the one protecting you next time." You could feel he wasn't only talking about duels or battles...
He is not really good with words so he will go out of his way to try to cheer you up for the rest of the day. He will pick little flowers for you and bring you sweets.
"I'm not great with words but I surely can listen! Please come to me if you want to talk..or if you need a big bear hug! I'm also good with those."
Would hug you very tightly for as long as you need.
Ominis:
He will notice almost immediately when you start crying. He felt your breath pattern change and he heard you slightly sniffle.
"Y/N, may I ask what's troubling you? It's very unlike you to be this upset. I'm worried. Are you hurt perhaps?"
You then explain how scared you were. You feel like you almost lost him too.
He stays silent. He goes to reach for your hand and holds it.
He usually never lets anyone holds his hand because he doesn't feel like he is in need of any guidance and doesn't think it is ever necessary. But he is making an exception to comfort you.
"I appologize for making you worry that much about my safety. But I am still here...thanks to you."
You both make it back to Howarts and he refuses to let go of your hand.
"As you may already know, I am a great listener. I am always available if you feel the need to talk about anything."
"Your safety is also truly important to me. I just want to make sure you do not feel like what happened to you or anyone is your fault."
He really wants to make sure you're feeling better before letting your hand go.
He doesn't care if people can see him holding your hand. All that matters at this moment is you.
"Take your time Y/N. I'll stay for as long as you need me to."
Garreth:
He is very oblivious about the situation. You turn your head to not face him so he couldn't see your tears. But you feel your shoulders shake.
When he notices how your demeanor changed, he just wonders if you were tired or maybe hurt.
"Y/N? Are you alright? I have some Wiggenweld potions if you need any. I even brew them myself."
You try to explain to him how you felt. You couldn't contain your tears. Those poachers almost killed him in front of your eyes... You see his eyes widen.
"Y/N...Please don't cry. I'm fine, look! Please... I hate when I can't see your pretty smile."
He will almost instantly take you in his arms and give you a hug. He will also gently carress your head as he tries to make you smile or laugh.
"Come on Y/N, you usually always laugh at that joke! Smile for your best bud...please."
He will not leave you alone until you feel better.
"Trust me, I think you might need some of that famous Gryffindor courage, chivalry, and determination to make you feel better! You're in luck, I have all of the above!"
He will not leave you for the rest of the day. And if anyone tries to talk to you, he will tell them you need to rest. He wouldn't want you to feel too overwhelmed.
"There it is! There is your pretty smile. Do you feel a bit better now?"
Amit:
After the battle against the poachers, his first instinct will be to check on you, even he was the one who almost died. He'll quickly notice you feel upset.
"Y/N what is wrong? Please don't cry...I'm here for you."
You explained how unbearable the thought of almost losing him too was. You explained how much it breaks you.
"I-I'm sorry...I didn't know how much that impacted you. I should have known. But I'm here for you now. Don't be ashamed to cry in front of me. I'm here..."
As you're crying, he gently rubs your back and hands you his handkerchief. He stays next to you until you finish crying. Then he will talk to you for a while.
"I hope you know you don't have to hide your emotions from me anymore. I still think you're incredibly strong. You're so wonderful Y/N, truly."
He'll almost force you to go get some rest for the rest of the day.
"Please, let me bring you back to your dorms. You need to rest. I'll warn your teachers about your absence, they'll understand. I'll give you the notes I took during class, I insist on that."
He'll walk you back to your dorms like the gentleman he is. He'll make sure you don't have to worry about anything else for the rest of the day.
He will bring some food to you so you don't forget to eat. It's not just an excuse to come to see you and check on you, not at all really
He will try to be more careful about what he does. He doesn't want to worry you.
Poppy:
She almost cries first. The situation really shook her. But when she notices you crying, she focuses all her attention on you.
"Y/N! Please tell me you're not hurt! I'm here, I'm okay, you're okay. Take a deep breath."
You try explaining to her through your heavy sobs how afraid you were to lose her too.
"Don't be silly, I'll always be right next to you, no matter how annoying it can be. They can't possibly get rid of me that easily when you're with me Y/N. That's what makes you such an amazing person... You're always so selfless."
She takes you in her arms. Nobody can possibly make her let go of you.
"I'm so sorry you went through all of that... but you will never lose me."
She makes you take deep breaths and do breathing exercises until you calm down a little.
"Do you feel better? Do you need me to bring you something? Water? Food? Anything? Let me go get that for you!"
You could ask her for anything and she'll RUN to get them for you.
"Don't worry, it's okay to cry. Sometimes I cry too! It doesn't make you weak or anything of the sort! Your tears mean you feel deeply and that's a good thing!"
She'll make sure that you're not alone, not a single second, for the rest of the day. She has to make sure you feel supported.
Natty:
She is very attentive to what is happening around her. So it doesn't take her long to notice your muffled sobs you were trying to hide.
"Y/N, what's wrong? I'm here with you, you can tell me about it."
She tries to stay very calm. She wouldn't want to stress you out more than you already are.
As you explain to her how you felt about losing her too and the fear of her being killed, you can notice how concerned she looks. She sadly knows that feeling all too well.
"I want to support you in any way you need. You are not alone. I...I know how you feel."
She'll make you sit next to her. She will let you cry it out while she hold your hand and softly rubs it with her thumb.
"This is really hard for you, I understand. I will help you work it out. I'll never leave you Y/N. You'll never lose me, I hope you know that."
She'll hand you tissues as she listens to you attentively.
"Is there anything I can do to help? I would do anything to help you feel better."
She is ready to do anything you want. It really hurts her to see you go through what she went through.
Following this incident, you can be sure she will regularly check on you.
Imelda:
She is panting as she tries to get up. She is just glad she didn't die. It was a close-call. When she turns to look at you, she is surprised to see you so upset.
"Y/N? Why are you crying? We won! You beat them all! It could be so much worse, I almost died."
You explain how the though of losing her the way you lost so many people scares you. Your tears are flowing on your cheeks.
"I'm not...that big of a deal. If I knew you were going to cry over me, I would have been more careful... Please...Y/N..."
She slowly pats your back, not really knowing what to do or what to say.
"Hey Y/N, it's okay, I'm still here. And even if one day I die, I'm sure you'll figure out something crazy like usual and resurrect me or something like that. You're that powerful, I'm sure of it. But let's not think about it just yet!"
She usually would NEVER hug anyone but she'll hug you if you ask her. She will complain but she'll still do it for you.
"Hugh! So needy! Just don't hold me too tight, I can't escape death twice in a row. There there, I'm here."
Deep down she enjoys being the one you're worried about. She would never admit it though.
"Don't tell anyone we hugged or I'll never hug you again."
Leander:
He only thinks about himself at first. He almost died and couldn't believe he was still here.
"Holy sh*t you saved me! Y/N... it was crazy. I-... Are you crying?"
You tell him how afraid you were about losing him too. You couldn't bear the thought of him dying.
"Oh...I- hum..."
He doesn't have a single clue how to comfort you. He is very ankward and clumsy with his words. He means well though.
He's the kind of person to not think before he talks.
"Y/N...look at me. I...hum...your tears are beautiful...S-Sorry I just blurt out random things when I'm nervous. But I'm here..."
He'll ankwardly hug you and pat your head.
"It's alright Y/N...Do you want my scarf? You're always begging me to give it to you so you can wear it. Here, take it."
He gives you his scarf you puts it around your neck. It feels strangely comforting.
"You can wipe your tears with it if you want. It's yours now. Red suits you much better anyway."
You burry your face in his chest and hug him tighter.
"I hope it's not just an excuse because you don't need to do that if you really needed a hug from me that bad. I'll hug you everyday if you insist."
In a weird way, his teasing makes you feel a bit better.
