what scene from one of your fics sticks in my mind? uh SO MANY. luke comparing julie to the stars in that three part one you did. all the bed cuddles. and who can forget the one where the boys are only tangible on the anniversary of their death??

i think that fic was inspired by a combination of things: mostly lyrics from a 2000s song and that one line that somehow popped into my head one day and i knew i had to use it somewhere

The Molina’s have a lot of couches. Like more than a normal three-person family should have.

But the perks of a lot of couches around the house also meant that Luke could easily cuddle with Julie at any given point in time.

Sometimes they’d be laying on the grey one in front of the fireplace, sipping on hot cocoa in a comfortable silence, listening to the fire crackle.

Some days, you’d find them on the orange one in the main living room, watching some 90’s rom-com on the television.

But their favourite spot? It sat in the corner of Julie’s room - the bright yellow couch decorated with throw pillows and a soft blanket, illuminated by the colourful lanterns hanging down from the ceiling.

Rose and an eight year old Julie had picked it out at a local flea market during one of their weekly trips, and it became one of the pieces that stayed constant in her ever-changing bedroom.

It wasn’t like they had set out to claim it as their spot, but when Julie started letting Luke hang out in her room, he felt a weird pull towards the bright piece of furniture.

It’s where the couple found themselves tonight, curled up against each other, the sounds of her vinyl player and the rain pelting against the window filling the room.

“This might be my favourite place in the world.” Luke mumbles quietly into her hair as they’re workshopping a new song. She doesn’t think she’s heard him correctly, but the blush creeping up her neck says otherwise.

She tilts her head back, peering up at him through her lashes and teases, “I thought the studio couch was your favourite?”

Luke vibrates below her with a soft laugh and presses a kiss to her forehead. “Anywhere with you is my favourite place, Jules.”

hm well “Can i keep you?” is my favourite ever but unfortunately i did not come up with that line, so let’s seeeeee

(i’m gonna cheat and post a series of lines that i like because the moment is cute when it’s the whole bit yes)

“So, you had a thing for ghosts, huh?”

She could hear the barely suppressed glee in his voice, making her eyes pop open in disbelief.

“Ugh! This is why I don’t tell you everything!” Now that her eyes were open, she didn’t know where to look. Maybe over his left shoulder?

A soft chuckle made its way out of his mouth.

“Aw, come on Julie! This is actually pretty cute. Kinda feels like fate, huh?”

“Really?” She deadpanned. Her eyes diverted to his face of their own accord.

“I mean, he’s a ghost from a movie from the 90s, the girl has the hots for him even though he’s clearly dead...I’m getting similar vibes here.”

“He was just a floating orb!”
