I really dont think anything has given me more pride than having a sax soli in monkey song.

So my music club hosted a yearly event this year, its pretty rare that we get to host since we‘re a pretty small town and our music district consists of a shit ton of clubs. This event is divided into three seperate days: the first day is mainly about drumming, the second about the adult clubs and the third about each clubs youth band. Its a very traditional thing with uniforms, flags and discipline. Music clubs here are very closely tied to the military, even if most clubs are more relaxed and casual.

As the hosts we dont get to play that much since we are always running around doing errands, favors and taking care of our guests. BUT in the end all youth clubs play a few songs together, usually we‘re around 200-300 musicians.

There is this one club EVERYONE hates though. They are on the more serious side and compete a lot. The grudge against them started when they began entering competitions and entered themselves into a lower level category than they actually were, just so they‘d definitely win. I dont think i need to explain why that is shitty, but to put it briefly: its unfair to clubs who enter the right category, because next to a higher level club they‘ll always loose and never have a fair chance at victory. Im scared that this will happen to me, because my club is entering its first show in a long while and im pretty sure that other club will join our category for sure.

The main reason why everyone hates them is because they are REALLY arrogant. Like im saying they wont greet you back and talk smack about you right in front of your nose. Some of the members are really sweet but the general image of the club is just… terrible.

Anyways, today was the third day if the event and we got ready to play tigether with the other clubs. The only other alto AND tenor saxophones were from that hated club and since im the only one playing a tenor sax in my youth club, i was plopped right into the mass of red uniformed bastards. We shared the show with the drummers (also mixed up from all clubs) and when they played a piece, i obviously applauded cuz thats what basic respect is in our culture. (And i was incredibly proud of them cuz they‘re like 12 years old and did an amazing job) AND I SWEAR i got the biggest stank eye from the other tenor sax players. Like sorry for supporting MY club tf? Like those are kids, give them some recognition for doing well wtf.

But anyways, while the drummers were playing they also gossiped and talked LOUD ASF. Like yes, the people listening probably cant hear you over 100 drums but its still lacking a lot of respect, cuz its a fuckibg concert and if yall brag about being professional and disciplined then FUCKING ACT LIKE IT.

I wont list up everything else they did but if i tell yall they have me FUMING. I hate nothing more than arrogant, stuck up people who think they‘re better than you even though you‘re not even trying to be in their level. I hate fake ass butches and for all i know, they are.

I want to know what that first chat was about, prior to meeting you I encountered AW, she showed up with MM and proclaimed they were staying the night, in other words making friends at that age is weird, at some point in the night I remember them making me a list before the school year started "People to be friends with, who not to be friends with, who to date and who to not date"

Did you make the list? Im so curious to this day.

I can play back our memories like a slide show.

Doesn’t have her own instrument, she borrows from the school and she HATES the reeds, they’re crap. When someone gives her a good reed, she CHERISHES it.

In jazz band also! With the same instrument, but she doesn’t feel ready for solos so she’s usually 2nd or 3rd. Bro when she has to switch from swing to straight she ALWAYS forgets and it’s the band’s downfall.

Tenya Iida:

Also has perfect pitch and knows her music theory WAY more than a high school student should know. She’s a genius.

Her warm ups? Jam sessions with Hanta and Todoroki. She just shouts a key and they go. It’s usually jazz, she plays a pretty constant pattern, Todoroki tries to improvise but hanta takes over pretty quick-

Flautist!! She chose it as an 11 y/o bc it was a girly instrument but she really likes it lol

A mediocre player, she spends most of warm up with Mina tho, she thinks that she’ll get to warm up when she’s playing bc I mean— no one hears the flutes

Wanted to main the picolo for the sole purpose that it’s an Ear Destroyer. Aizawa heard the mischief in her voice and said no.

Sight reading?? What’s that?? She has no idea what’s going on, she just pretends to play and when she’s comfortable with the melody, she’ll just step in. NEVER notices key changes and signatures.

Yuuga Aoyama:

LASKHDSJ FLAUTIST!! Also clarinetist. He loves being able to stay where he is during practice even though he changes instruments it’s sort of funny

His cheeks get SO SORE when he plays clarinet though and he WILL complain.

“My flute is so heavy!” Kind of guy.

Definitely has his own instruments and takes GREAT care of them.

Wetting his reed with his saliva?? No, he plops it in a glass of water instead (the reeds are definitely his own, and expensive)

Tsuyu Asui:

Trombone gang bro.

Positions are burnt into her brain dude she’ll never go out of tune.

SO SMOOTH. SOOOO SMOOO- dude she plays so well?? It’s never spitty, but during jazz (yes she’s in jazz), if it’s a moody piece she KNOWS how to make it juuussssttt airy enough to be beautiful

Not that good with fast songs, but she makes up for her amazing ass vibrato and her range. GOD-LIKE RANGE.

Mashirao Ojirou:

FRENCH HORN!!!

Omg he plays like a king. And he’s so proud of being the ONLY one playing French horn, but there is PRESSURE, because a French horn is rlly tricky to tune dude. Have you SEEN it??

Always keeps his mouthpiece with him, as if he’s afraid someone will play his instrument?? Like no dude it’s good in it’s case but you do you I guess

He doesn’t stand out that much, but in the majestic pieces where he has a 5 measure solo?? He gives it his all and he pulls it OFF. Those moments are always the highlight of the piece

Mezou Shouji:

Bass clarinet!!

Once he managed to growl through bass clarinet and literally ALL the saxophone players were jealous AS FUCK

Buddy goes to a low E♭ like it’s nothing?? And then he goes up to like a high high C and you’re sitting there like THE FUCKING RANGE-

His warmups are like, quick scales and arpeggios. Bro he’s so steady when he plays and he could play for HOURS. Sore cheeks?? Don’t know her.

He so proud of being a bass clarinetist, but when he saw an octobass clarinet?? Aizawa better order one of those for him RIGHT. NOW.

Fumikage Tokoyami:

Baritone saxophone. Also lowkey really wants to learn bassoon because it’s such an old instrument

SKSKS he and Shouji sit next to each other, Tokoyami loves to read off of Shouji’s partition and create the WORST fourths you’ll ever hear. Even Midoriya told them to shut the fuck up once

He’s in the back judging EVERYONE. It’s so great for him, he gets to stand there and cringe and no one will know

Totally able to play 4 mallets like the king he is

Surprisingly enough, he’s rlly good in music theory. Like he could probably compose or transpose something no problem

Anyways, I'm she/her using, bisexual, and I don't think that I really have any preference for what I want in a partner. I guess patient or just able to not be overwhelmed by me and overall not a bad person? Oh, my love language is physical touch.

I'm 5'3" with curly (4A) hair, I'm African/Filipino, and I'm a bit on the heavier side(mainly carried in my tum tum and chest, honestly a bit weird for how active I am haha, like, there's some music, yeah, but its mainly fat and I'm like "???"). My eyes and hair are both brown and I tend to keep my nails short bc of my hobbies. I also have a lot of calluses on my hands and feet, especially on my fingers, i would walk on rock on my hands or just normal without batting an eye at this point I swear...

My personality is normally more on the loud side of things, I'm ENTP, an Aquarius and ADHD with Tourettes lol. But I do really care about those I love and tend to be very protective. And I mean protective like, would go to jail for someone if I needed to just to be sure they are safe. I'm not very good at communicating my feelings or what I think about unless it is a very easy sentence. When it is like that, it just comes out of my mouth, I have little to no filter.

My hobbies, hahaha, there's quite a bit.... so starting, I'm a performer at heart, have been putting on shows for people just to entertain, I love seeing and hearing their reactions! What do I perform?

Band

I have been doing music for about 10 years now, my main instrument used to be piano, but its shifted over to alto sax awhile ago. However, I have 20+ instruments in my room that I play proficiently and can play even more than that. I'm in marching, jazz(2 different ones), symphonic, and concert bands(also 2 different ones). I've been to jazz All-State before as well. Despite all of this, most of them are classes anyways, I still have time for more things lolol.

Dance!

I was a ballerina for a while, then transitioned into tap and hip hop. I did these for about 6 years total, and now I dance Folklorico! This has been for almost 5 years now, and I honestly love it. I live really close to the border too, so it isn't hard for me to find a good company here.

Circus

This one is a bit weird not that I'm looking at what else I do lolol. So I'm mainly an aerialist, specializing in silks and flying trapeze. I do however also have training as a mermaid and with hula hoops! This one is really fun to hear their reactions for, and I love to perform it so much, even if it can sometimes be scary... (honestly tho, nothing to me is scarier than soloing for band when you make your own solo)

Artistic skating

So, I don't perform this, this is just in my free time to help me get ready for roller derby because I'm not legally allowed to play yet. But this has been more recent, within the last year or two. I do really love this and choreographing my own stuff! Speaking of roller derby, I have also done sports!

I've played volleyball, soccer and done gymnastics the longest, but I've been to camps for softball before.

For volleyball, I started as a setter, but then I switched companies and have a libero position now, which makes sense because before volleyball when I did soccer I was a goalie, so I'm able to get to the ball pretty quickly and without much, if any, thinking. I did soccer around the same time as ballet, but for a few more years and volley ball is more recent, but I had stopped last year. Soccer I had started at 2, same time as ballet, but I didn't stop until 7, then did volleyball from 8/9 to 16.
