First post I guess. Anyways, gonna rant. So I'm pretty sure we all know the meddling best friend trope. Just in case you don't, it's basically where the bestfriend, friend and or siblings are really invested in the main characters love life, like unhealthy so. Ok so back on topic, I was reading this mha fanfic and basically the plot is that izuku is like lusting over bakugou. He accidentally sends some of the horny messages to the class groupchat or whatever. OK so this is actually a really interesting if a bit overdone plot for me to read. However the way they use the characters to move along the story slowly became boring and really annoying. They made all izuku's classmates- especially Mina- basically so invested with Izuku's love life. Anyways to get his classmates of his back he tells them it's Shindo to which then they add him to the groupchat. This is honestly interesting cause I haven't read one where they use shindo at all in these type of stories. To which then Ochako decides to just tell the girls that Izuku was lying and that it was Bakugou. I know that this is a really popular way of getting the meddling friends involved. They always hadlve the one friend that knew and doesn't say anything but the minute anyone suspects they just up and tell them. For me this feels like a breaking if trust because why are you telling people (even if it is other friends) something the mc obviously didnt want them to know. So after this happens it basically becomes a shipping war where the girls are basically meddling to try and get Izuku and Bakugou together. However, how they go about it feels like belittling I think is the right word. The way they talk about who they want to ship Izuku feels like fangirls talking about shipping real life people. Oh by the way the ships are Shindeku (Shindo and Izuku), TodoDeku and obviously BakuDeku. The entire time no one actually asks Izuku what he wants like at all. If it was me I would be so upset and embarrassed that all my classmates are arguing about who I should date because I accidentally let my horniness blind me which caused me to send horny texts to my class groupchat. Especially since they seem to not care about what I think. Seriously they have a whole ass poll (which was I must admit was funny) and it only set in how bad what they are doing when he leaves and then yiu know what they do when he comes back and even immediately after he leaves they meddle. It got even worse because Shindo and Izuku had a plan to get Bakugou to finally man up and ask him out. Then Shindo joins the girls in they shipping groupchat. The only reason I allow this is because Shindo was personally asked by Izuku to help him and Bakugou get together. However there's one thing in this fic that i have to bring up there is literally no such thing as privacy and respecting others privacy in this fic. They literally screenshot PM's and send it to other people not even caring if the other person wanted to keep it private. The only people who are a exception are Jiro and Shoji and even them I'm side eying because being forced to hear everything in your dorms and I understand you don't want this but literally sending full on conversations that people were having to other people who can't hear to fuel your own selfish desire to see that person with someone of your choosing is selfish and not good. What makes this worse is that Izuku obviously wants to get with Bakugou because duh that's what the author wants. The reason that makes it worse is because their meddling while selfishly squandering his privacy for their own desire to see him with the person of their choosing is working in his favor so he just LET'S IT HAPPEN. LIKE WHAT IM SORRY I WOULD NEVER RISK MY PRIVACY TO BE WITH ANYONE. Honestly I kinda want a story where they do this only to get scolded by the MC and the friend with their head on their shoulders for not respecting people's privacy and that the main character does not end up with their person of choosing just to spite them. Oh I forgot to mention the teacher know and do nothing.

So anyway, could I please have something about Kurapika falling for someone that's been friends with him since the hunter exam and always seems to know what to do or say to him when his emotions get the better of him, even if they need to use a bit of tough love, kinda like Gon and Killua's relationship.

I've only been able to find stuff where the reader is overly kind, WAY to emotional (nothing wrong with that though), or where they make Kurapika this guy that doesn't care for his S/O and basically disrespects them. I'm tired of these tropes, like c'mon, Kurapika is a respectful man that wants to avenge his family, not some neglectful man that doesn't care for others. 😒

Anyway, with my little rant out of the way, I'd really appreciate if you could write something similar to what I'm looking for. Again, no rush, your mental state should be your first priority.

Kurapika Falling for a Reader Who’s Good at Handling His Emotion’s

I dont read kurapika content, but I can def relate with the Y/N pet peeves LOL. and he would treat his s/o so right imo :(( I rlly hope these dont disappoint ﾍ(;´o｀)ﾍ

- Of the many things Kurapika was grateful for in his life, getting the chance to meet you was one of them. Before entering the hunter exam, obtaining his license to try and take revenge on the Phantom Troupe was his only top priority. Getting the chance to make such great friends wasn’t accounted for in his initial plan, and at that, opening up his heart for the first time was something Kurapika did not expect to happen.

- Kurapika always knew from the start that you and him were going to get along well. From that moment you guys first met, an instant mutual connection could be formed between the two of you. The more you got to know each other, the more than bond strengthened with each other. Whenever he got the chance to speak to you, to vent, to rant, there was this fuzzy feeling Kurapika would always experience during those moments.

- He had a slight clue that it might’ve been love, and with that, Kurapika prayed that these feelings were only fleeting. The last thing he wanted was to distinguish them as love since he thought that he just wasn’t ready for that yet.

- As scared as Kurapika was to let those emotions blossom, there was always that strong pulse that seemed to gravitate towards you, making it almost impossible for the blonde to just ignore those feelings.

- You were probably one of the most cherished person that Kurapika knew, and acclaiming that title meant that you very important to him. Ever since the massacre, he often became hesitant when he truly found a connection with someone, in fear that one day he was eventually going to lose them. That fear that you might disappear from his life forever did always linger at the back of his mind. 

- But from the vents that Kurapika was more than comfortable enough to share with you specifically, you were always there to bring him solace. He considered you to be his rock, someone that Kurapika could always search out for on whenever those continuous feelings of sorrow came knocking at his door. During those troubled times, you had always been there for him when the times got rough.

- Through all those tears he was vulnerable enough to shed, through all of his rants and vent about the current state of his life, you were still there to listen to him with the most reassuring measures to follow. Whether it was embracing him in a long hug he really needed, or giving those comforting words encouraging him to let everything out, you were still always next to him regardless of those moments. 

- Part of him was also contemplating whether it was safe to have you so close to him because his mission might interfere with your safety. Of course, Kurapika was also very open to you about this. 

- Though you constantly reassured that you did want to help him and that no matter what you would always be there for Kurapika, part of him felt a little selfish to continue on knowing that danger would lie ahead. After all the convincing, Kurapika let you in on his mission, but would obvious warn you of all the things to come.

- As his feelings would grow over time, Kurapika would eventually plan on trying to confess to you. His deep love for you became so strong that at any moment he could just blurt out how much he loves you. Not only that, but Kurapika was almost positivity that you felt the same way. Even though he was scared of what the future would bring, he pushed past those thoughts, eventually leading up to him telling how much you mean to him, and that he truly does love and appreciate you.

EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG: I am comparatively new to tumblr rp and only started in late 2019, but my overall rp experience is well over 15 years or some ( I am old ok xD ). Started in pen & paper / exchanging text book with friends and moved on to german Legend of the Green Dragon servers (LoGD) over to discord and here.

BEST EXPERIENCE: Both my best and worst experiences happened during roleplaying - I met one of my exes during LoGD roleplaying as well as a good friend through tumblr / Discord rp. Sadly both didn’t last and have been also my worst experiences. But I still want to make the best of it which is why I ultimately came back!

RP PET PEEVES: Honestly, one of the worst things is being pushy and thinking RP is all I do all day long. It is not. I am doing this as a hobby and replies may take a couple days or even weeks, depending on how I feel and how fickle the muses are. I REALLY dislike feeling any kind of pushy behaviour, be it mass @ing in several replies, bombarding me with asks if I didn’t ask for them, being passive-aggressive about me being spotty etc etc. Just... honestly. Be reasonable, have some understanding and respect and we’ll get along nicely. Other than that it’s... lying. I mean, lying is a massive pet peeve / deal breaker anyway, but don’t fucking come up with some shady ass excuses for you being spotty or absent. I don’t need your medical record, or your family business laid out. Just tell me you won’t be able to follow up for a while and I am good. BONUS POINTS if you manage to be honest and let me know you want to follow up with other muses / muns and you don’t feel doing our stuff right now - it lets me focus on other stuff as well. Don’t act like we’re besties and then make up stuff for whatever reason I literally don’t mind to wait - I mind being lied to.

MUSE PREFERENCES FOR ANGST / FLUFF / SMUT: Most of my muses are up for grabs in terms of Angst and fluff, pretty much all of them for smut as well. HOWEVER - I HIGHLY lean towards mxm smut and relationships. Hetero couples tend to bore me quickly (and I know this makes me sound like a jerk but there is no point in lying about it either). If I am comfortable with the mun I am able to run a mxf ship but it’s definitely not my favorite to play. I see this stuff across media all the time and I may grow bored which has nothing to do with the mun!! It’s just a preference. (This doesn’t at ALL mean I won’t play with female muses, on the contrary! I just don’t think all f & m interactions have to be romantic and I might not be the right partner to play this stuff with) Also some muses like Fujin are aromantic and asexual. PLOTS OR MEMES: BOTH BOTH BOTH. As someone whose energy levels fluctuate immensely I am happy if people like to do meme stuff without turning it into threads, but I also love plotting things for “better head days”!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Also both.  Generally I tend to write more, but I sometimes enjoy some one-line crack banter or some short replies ( not a fan of artificially lengthening posts just so they are big )

BEST TIME TO WRITE: Varies. It’s more like when does my brain allow me to write. Usually the evenings, but sometimes I make use of early mornings as well.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE: Part of myself finds its way into my muses for sure. But I think more to the effect of “this is how I could be if XYZ happened to me” both in negative and positive ways. I am however strictly avoiding self-inserting too much.

i really like how they both r so happy around each other but i think my favorite scene w them is when yasuho has to explain to josuke that hes crying and hes just like :') yeah

but they have so so many cute moments and the ending makes them the only couple to make it out of this list

and when they move in together, i think they would raise sugar gliders (or potentially kidnap squirrels from the local park)

i love all of yasuho and josukes interactions but oh man every time that josukes past gets brought up i do start bawling

they both mean the world to me and how their romance is just built on such a clear foundation of trust and care it makes me so soft

they both give off such dog ppl energy tho and i love that for them

ALSO ok the way that yasuho helps josuke w his memory and is always there for him

i will never ever ever get over them

but i think one of my favorite scenes is the one right at the beginning where she gives josuke his name and how that plays into the rest of the story with him discovering his identity but still clinging to the one that she gave him since it was him, he wasnt just kira or josefumi he was josuke

I love your tags on Mr. Sunshine posts and can I just say instant follow~ Eushin is such a good ship and despite eugene being the lead, go ae shin has always had her own arc to deal with. At the end he became more of a supportive interest for her than the typical hero.

[askdjkshfkjdsjdsi was going to say thank you for reminding me i still have so many mr sunshine posts in my likes to go through but then you blindsided me with that “eugene being the lead” revelation and now i have to take the day off to deal with that???

LIKE. I THOUGHT AE-SIN WAS THE LEAD. i don’t know why!! the show’s summary centers on him ep 1 starts with his story it makes sense that he’s the lead i just!! i think maybe because eugene does, consciously, choose to make himself secondary to ae-sin’s plans and choices, my brain automatically switched him to second lead/supportive character?? or i saw the attempted love square stuff and immediately went oh of course SHES the lead askdjkshfkjdsjds

this makes…. so much sense…….. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. like one of my favourite things about the show is it doesn’t really follow that love triangle trope of leaving you guessing which one the (usually female) lead will end up with, it actually does a pretty good job at establishing early on that for all of hui-seong’s and dong-mae’s pining, eugene’s the one she loves from day 1, the actual conflict is if both of them are going to let themselves choose a life together over all their other plans and ideals. i loved that! i thought it was so refreshing!! im an idiot!!

CONVERSELY, one of my pet-peeves (and you might disagree idk) is that while eugene basically goes through a complete shift in loyalties and world-view, i don’t think ae-sin really changed/developed a lot during the series? which didn’t make sense to me while watching, why shaft your lead’s character development in this way? but IT MAKES SENSE and IM MORE OK WITH IT if she’s not really the lead but a supporting character with her own thing going on!!]

my stupid brain aside, THANK YOU! i love eusin so much, im so glad you wrote to me! you’re right, he did become more of a supportive interest to her, and the thing i personally find amazing is that that’s something he CHOSE! like that was his arc! the central conflict was, is eugene going to value this love he never expected more than the life and plans and ideals he’s built and fought for all his life in the us? and HE DOES. HE CHOOSES TO, KNOWING it will probably mean doom for him because of her cause and her loyalties. mr sunshine is the story of a lead character consciously re-making himself into a secondary character in someone else’s story purely out of love for them, and it’s just. so beautiful and meaningful and something i’ve never seen before. it’s utter and selfless devotion to another person to the point of annihilating yourself, which usually i would be wary of, because it can so often come across as obsessive or unhealthy, but it was handled with so much tenderness and care, they were so careful to point out it was a fully aware choice on his part to put her life and priorities before his, and we see him ponder that choice and its consequences for 20 episodes before committing, we see him take small steps forward in the first half of the series and then back off when he gets scared or pushed away, and finally we see him fully committing himself to her toward the end. it’s so poignant and lovely, and i have nothing to complain about.

i read a fandom essay once years ago about how we tend to value stories of sacrifice for loved ones only when it’s women doing it (like mothers dying for their sons etc), whereas when men sacrifice personal happiness in stories it’s usually because they’ve devoted their lives to A Higher Cause, like war or vengeance or whatever.

               ᵒᵒᶜ      Gawain has a really big pet peeve yall should know because it can make or change his attitude toward your character. He’s shown heavily to have near mood switches if you are lying, being inferior, or genuinely not giving it your all to him. If you face him like a coward, it pisses him off. If you act like someone youre not, it pisses him off. If youre hiding something from him and he can tell, it will piss him off. This includes not giving it your all at the start of battle ( with some variations), this will piss him REALLY off. He wants you to give him his all and if you dont you will irritate him. You can see this a lot in Fate Grand Order when Guda/Ritsukas go against Gawain (extra too tbh i love fox tail because they just throw that right at you in the beginning lmao but like yeah even his comments over hakuno and everyone thinking hes rude for being blunt hes like ?? what do u mean im just being honest ) and he makes so many comments about and to their face. As to how irate they make him, all of which are rather rather teaching in a manner of way as well. This is why he hates Tamamo esp at first because he knows shes faking a lot of things and its just that type of personality annoys him. If we roleplay a trope or rather that your character is a princess/queen/king/prince outside of fate go and he calls you My Lady and you instantly tell him not to. This is kinda like very side eye for me, as a royal member your character should know why such a title is important and how awkward it actually is to ask someone like Gawain to call them by their name. Its in the same equal as someone from Japan dropping the honorific, it bares that much importance. If anything the value of dropping the title should be important later down the road. For modern threads, and Fate go its fine because of the grail laws. its completely viable and understandable. But let gawain do his knightly duty or ull make him feel like hes wearing wet socks in his boots.
