While Julius Caesar is making alliances, Asterix and Obelix are making contact with the locals. It's going great !

"Asterix, I'm hungry."

"I told you already, we don't know what these mushrooms could do. They could be poisonous, so until we find someone who can tell us, better to not touch them."

"But there are no boars, or deer, or even rabbits! No berries or nuts !! Not even roots! Just mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms!"

It felt like they had this discussion several times already yet even Asterix couldn't blame his friend for complaining. It felt like an eternity since they had landed in ...whatever this place was.

Asterix still couldn't wrap his head around what exactly had happened. One moment they were having a typical skirmish with Caesar and his troops, until they found themselves with Caesar near a strange green tunnel, and then...there they were. In some kind of mushroom land with no one in sight, not even Julius, who had yet been sucked in with them. Deep down, Asterix couldn't help but hope old Julius was doing fine on his own...

And to top it off, Dogmatix had ran off! Who knew where their little friend had gone, or what dangers he risked in this strange land? Where even were they ? It looked nothing like Gaul, or Rome, or any other country they had ever visited (and Toutatis knew how far they had travelled).

Lost as he was in his thoughts, it took several seconds for Asterix to notice the absence of his best friend's footsteps behind him. Looking back quickly, he found Obelix staring down intently at a patch of big red and blue mushrooms off their path.

Suddenly Obelix reached into the patch...

"Obelix, for the last time-"

...and yanked someone out of it.

"What the -?"

"Look, Asterix! I found someone!"

A little man...mushroom...person...? Was dangling from Obelix's big hand. He was even smaller than Asterix, with strange clothes, a big head (or was is a hat?) shaped like a mushroom cap, and little beady eyes widened in fright.

Asterix gawked for several seconds at the sight, before collecting himself. So at least there were people in this land, that was finally some good news ! All Asterix and Obelix needed to do was to show they were non-threatening and polite, and surely the locals would help them find their way home! With that in mind, Asterix stepped forward with a smile, lifting his helmet in salute.

"Excuse-me, sir, could yo-"

The mushroom man shrieked in terror.

Asterix's smile wavered.

"I assure you, we don't-"

He shrieked louder.

Asterix frowned.

"Could you let me finish-"

The shrieks reached Cacofonix-levels of loudness and shrillness, before turning into wails in a strange language. And while he had no idea of what it said, Asterix had heard enough Romans, Normands, Goths and other people facing their fists to recognize desperate cries for help or begging for mercy.

Asterix winced before pinching the bridge of his nose. By Toutatis, that was just their luck. Way to make a good impression, on someone who didn't even seem to understand them.

"Hey, Mister Mushroom, have you seen my little dog?" Obélix asked politely despite the little man desperately wriggling in his grasp.

"Will you put him down??" Asterix shot back, exasperated, "Can't you see he's terrified?"

"But he's going to run away! It's not like I'm gonna hurt him!"

"It's not like he knows that, he doesn't speak our language. Now put him down!"

Pouting, Obelix obeyed...and the second he was free, the little man bolted for the mushroom forest, disappearing in a couple of seconds.

"See, I told you so!"

"Well, let's hope he doesn't live here alone, and that someone else will keep their calm and talk to us."

Obelix cupped his chin and pondered for a long moment, frowning in deep thought.

"...Say, Asterix, you think his mushroom cap was edible ?"

Asterix let out a deep sigh.

This was going to be a long day.

I'm still terrified about posting these, but I keep seeing other people posting headcanons/fanfics about Mario and Peach having kids, and I've caught the fever too. I won't be cured until I get all of this out of my head. So, here are my own headcanons/ideas about them as expecting parents (also featuring Luigi x Peasley).

Mario and Peach are both being depicted as trans here, FYI. Yes, that means Mario is the one carrying the babies. If you comment with anything transphobic, or about this being "cursed" or something, you're getting blocked. If you don't want to read something like this, then scroll past.

This is all taking place in some kind of game/movie combo AU, just to clarify.

Mario's mom knows before anyone else does. He's recently been dealing with nausea and dizziness, and feeling unusually tired. His symptoms act up when he and Peach visit his family. His mom experienced similar symptoms when expecting him and Luigi, so she recognizes it immediately. She convinces him to see a doctor. Sure enough, he's pregnant.

As soon as he tells Peach the news, he finds himself being showered in kisses. She's already thinking of names.

Luigi is so excited to be an uncle! He jokes about how much he's going to spoil Mario's kid.

When Luigi is visiting the Beanbean Kingdom, Peasley lightly teases him about his excitement. Luigi says that Peasley can be the kid's uncle too, and Peasley half-jokingly asks if Luigi is proposing. Turns out he is. He nearly drops the ring, before shyly asking if he wants to get married. Peasley finds it endearing, and answers with a passionate kiss.

Toadsworth is overjoyed when he finds out he's going to be a grandfather, to the point that he can't stop crying. (On a side note: I like to imagine that, aside from being Peach's father figure, he's also become like a second dad to Mario.)

Turns out it's twins! Seems like it runs in the family. Mario is ecstatic.

Mario and Peach aren't actually married yet. They decide this is as good a time as any to tie the knot. They don't announce the pregnancy until the end of the ceremony, but everyone kind of guessed because Mario's baby bump is visible through his tux. (Mario's family, who are obviously there too, already know and have barely been holding back from blabbing about it.)

Luigi, along with his and Mario's mom, frequently drop by to give Mario and Peach food that they've cooked. This is something they've both already been doing for a while, but they do it a lot more during the pregnancy (and for a while after that, while Mario is in recovery).

Mario's dad is aware of the fact that he wasn't exactly the greatest dad to Mario and Luigi when they were growing up. He promises to try and be a better grandfather.

Peach loves singing lullabies and reading to the babies. Mario finds it adorable.

Mario finds it difficult to get around in the later months, and has to be helped around the castle all the time. He's very grouchy and stubborn about it.

He's especially grouchy when he gets put on bedrest near the end. Peach tries to make him feel better by pampering him a lot, and giving him plenty of cuddles.

Shortly before the twins' birth, Mario expresses worry over whether he'll be a good dad. He talks about how his dad was tough on him, and how it was because of his dad's own upbringing; he's afraid of repeating the cycle. Peach assures him that won't happen, and that he'll be a wonderful father.

When Mario goes into labor, Luigi knows because he senses his brother's distress. He shows up to give extra support.

During labor, Bowser attempts to attack the kingdom. I say “attempts”, because Peach absolutely snaps, and sends him running with his tail between his legs. She quickly returns to Mario, to the relief of a panicky Luigi (whose hand was nearly broken).

Luigi is too worried for his brother to leave, but seeing him in so much pain makes him anxious. He is given tasks as often as possible, so he isn't just sitting there and freaking out the entire time. Somehow, he fusses over Mario more than Peach does.

Peach does everything she can to comfort Mario. Holding him close, kissing his head, stroking his hair, whispering encouraging words to him. She's as anxious as Luigi is, but desperately tries to stay calm for everyone else's sake.

The firstborn twin is a girl with brown hair and Peach's eyes. The second is a boy with blonde hair and Mario's eyes. They both have the Mario family nose.

Mario bursts into tears when he holds his children for the first time. He's wanted to be a dad for such a long time, and he can hardly believe that it's finally happening. He already loves them so much.

Luigi sends a photo of the newborns to Peasley, to tell him that he's an uncle. He receives a very long-winded response gushing over how cute they are.

Mario's whole family shows up to see the new babies. He's happy to see them, but is still very tired and quickly gets overwhelmed. Peach gently but firmly asks them to give him some space and let him rest. The family's attention redirects to Luigi, who now has to deal with questions about when his wedding is, and whether he's having any kids himself.

Peasley shows up a couple days later, with a ton of expensive gifts for both the new parents and the babies (and Luigi too, obviously).

After several months have passed, Luigi and Peasley have their own wedding. Mario and Peach leave the babies in the care of Toadsworth and the Toads. They love being parents, but are very tired and appreciate the break.

Between the Toads and Mario's family, Mario and Peach always have a lot of help with the babies.

Luigi and Peasley don't currently plan on becoming parents, at least not anytime soon. They love spending time with their niece and nephew, though. In turn, the kids love their Uncle Weegee and Uncle Peas.

Before the cages get lowered in lava Luigi ask to say something before dying and Bowser allows it thinking he was going to beg to be spared but instead Luigi goes on a rant about how wrong this wedding is starting with "you are down right disgusting for doing this to the princess!" Saying this shocks everyone even the other prisoners then continues before could speak "and not to mention the freaking wedding is only one side I mean you actually think will love you for all the pain and suffering your putting on her shoulders!?" He yelled making Bowser suddenly shut his mouth in amazement, for a moment of course 😉 "I mean even if the princess falls for you you already ruined it but 1 terrorizing her people 2 for hurting her land and 3 for forcing her to marry you! You literally made the wedding about your freaking self No lady or princess likes that, it's downright mean, disgusting and rude! YOU EVEN MADE THE DAMN CAKE MORE ABOUT YOU THEN BOTH OF YOU!!" He yelled out scaring everyone a little bit and he was now walking back and forth in his cage (who knew the little guy had it in him) "and finally you no good snail turtle for brains dog water breath of a king didn't think how she might fell about this if she really loved you! You would have let her in the wedding plans but nooooo it had to be all about you, you, you! You literally not once asked how she felt about any of this and thus is why you are always alone you giant angry turtle!" He said panting heavily before turning around and sitting in his cage everyone was in shock and Bowser was the only person staring at him now as everyone whispered to the person closest to them Luigi was half expecting Bowser to kill him right then and there as he was about to turn around "the wedding is being put on hold we are going back to the dark lands!" Bowser yelled then looked at Kamek "put that green scared a cat in a guest room this instant and do not question my order" he said walking off as the island started rising

Leaving the mushroom kingdom and later Luigi was taken to a room with the princess shocking both of them "you had a lot of courage saying that stuff to Bowser" Peach said as Luigi rubbed the back of his neck "you don't have to tell me twice" he said, they decided to talk about stuff while Bowser was in his studies walking back and forth trying to get Luigi's angry face out of his head it turned him on a little bit wait what Bowser focus! He roars before punching a wall trying to understand what's happening is messing with his head he's seen Peach angry but it never made him feel like this as Kamek walked in Bowser grabbed ahold of him pulling him closer to his face "You said when your eyes land on someone you would begin to feel butterflies in your stomach!? Why the fuck am I feeling like this after getting disrespected at my own wedding!!" Kamek tried his best to calm Bowser down rubbing his hand "your majesty I'm sure these feeling will pass you said it yourself you love the princess maybe you're just a little nervous and upset because of what happened at the altar" Bowser for some reason didn't like this letting Kamek go "you don't understand it's the way he looked at me with those dark baby blue eyes...his..his cold but yet sweet voice and his..soft...skin.." Bowser said slowing realizing he fell in love with that no good girl stealing and ugly Mario's little brother then it hit him he was in love with **Mario's** little brother a evil smile showed up on his face "I know a way to get back at that short mustache wife stealing Mario! I'll date his brother and steal away the thing most dear to him...yes..yes! Mario would have no choice but to back off if I make his brother love me by marrying him instead!" Bowser's smile turned into a wicked smirk as Kamek was loving all of this "would you like me to let everyone know of the new plans?" He asked as Bowser looked at him "no I'm gonna do this nice and slow for now don't want greenie getting any ideas"

Dr. Mario x Hospitalized Reader (Sfw)

"Wonderful Dreams May Not Heal Bones, But They Can Heal The Soul"

You laid in the hospital bed with only the faint sound of beeping of the heart monitor filling the room, you had been swallowed by bowser and spat back up barely alive. You can't help but wonder how your boyfriend, Mario, deals with him on almost a weekly basis and still finds time for you. Despite what happened to you, you thankfully don't feel too much pain.. but you do feel bored. After a while of looking on Funimation for something to watch, you hear a knock on the door, and an all too familiar face walks in.

"Mario?"

"Hmm? Oh hello sweetie, glad you're awake! How do you feel?" He expresses happily as he gives you a kiss on the cheek.

"I guess i'm alright? A little uncomfortable, lightheaded, dizzy, but i'm ok."

"Dizzy? Lightheaded? Those aren't side effects..." Mario utters to himself.

Mario goes to grab some equipment for a check up while thinking of what could be causing you to feel so faint.

"Have you been drinking water?"

"Yes"

"Do you think you may be bleeding anywhere?"

"I... have no idea."

"Then I'm-a gonna check if thats ok" Mario states while lifting the blanket off of your figure. And lo and behold, you were bleeding from a huge gash in your leg from Bowser's tooth. Mario froze from shock, worry, and confusion. 'I could've sworn it wasn't that big before..'

"Oki dokie, i have bad news."

"What is it"

"A gash in your leg from Bowser's tooth opened and its-a bigger than before, you're practicly bleeding out and you need stitches. No need to worry though... Just count back from ten." Mario explains calmly while putting a clear plastic mask connected to a tube on your face.

"See you when you wake up, my princess" *smooch*

Thats the last thing you've heard from your dear boyfriend before falling asleep. You had an amazing dream of sailing on a huge boat to different worlds and distant lands. You saw snowy forests, interesting seaside towns with windsocks that looked like fish alongside a few stray cats wandering on the docks of the marina. Your favorite sight to see though, was a land if ice mountains with bright colored swirls and stripes of green, blue, purple, and periwinkle. What made it even better though, was Mario beside you through it all. Even in your dreams he was there for you, even in your dreams his kisses felt so real until you once again heard a familiar beeping sound. Before you knew it, you were looking at the ceiling of the Mushroom Kingdom Hospital instead of the wonderful sights you had dreamt of.

"Well look whos awake! It's-a great to see your beautiful face again, amoré."

You look over to your cheerful boyfriend admiring your beautiful/handsome figure with a sincere smile on his face.

You were suddenly startled by a very concerned princess peach rushing into the room with a basket of your favorite snacks and a plushie.

"Y/N! OH MY, ARE YOU OKAY? I WAS SO WORRIED!" Your best friend gushed as she gave you a tight hug.

"I'm okay, just a little beat up and dehydrated, hence the IV in my arm" you explain as you pat her back.

"Peach, you gotta be careful, they're a bit delicate right now." You hear Luigi clarify politely.

"Hi Luigi"

"Hello Y/n, feelin' any better?"

"Yes thank you-" you were cut off by Mario giving you a hug around your face, though it took a second to process what was happening.

"OK YALL HUG TIME IS OVER. FEELIN A LITTLE CRAMPED HERE" You yell, muffled by Mario's chubby figure after a few seconds of awkward silence filling the room.

After a few hours of fun with your friends, everyone went home... or so you thought. You were sitting in your bed watching your favorite show/anime/movie, when suddenly Mario sat down on the edge of the bed, startling you. He noticed how you jumped and was concerned.

"Woah you okay?"

"Yeah i just thought you went home."

"I work here remember?" He said, straightening his doctor's coat with confidence.

"Besides, Mario doesn't wanna go home without you. Now scoot over, I'm-a snuggling with you."

You do as your boyfriend says and let him under the blankets with you. He immediately wraps his arms around you and nuzzles into your neck as he watches the tv with you. You hug him back as you feel his mustache tickle your collarbone, you give him a kiss on the forehead before taking his hat off and placing it on the nightstand next to you. After a few minutes of watching tv and playing with Mario's hair, you feel his finger poking at your cheek.

"Hey princess... amoré, its time for bed. Its getting late and you need lots of rest."

"Aww but it's just getting good" you resisted effortlessly as Mario turned off the tv and tucked you into bed.

"I at least want to tell you the dream i had during surgery today." Mario seemed to perk up in interest at the statement.

"Was it a good one?"

"It was amazing"

You proceeded to tell him everything that happened, from the comfortable interior of the boat, to the wonderful things you've experienced together. Mario listened as he relaxed at the sound of your melodic voice, happy that you dream of such things with him, and happy that you were starting to grow more relaxed and tired as you told your story.

"You know amoré, we can do that together someday if you want"

"You mean it, honey?"

"Of course, I love you sweetie."

"I love you too, goodnight.." you yawned as you closed your eyes and squished yourself against Mario.

"Goodnight, amoré, I hope to join you in whatever other fantasies you dream of."

And with that, you and your boyfriend fell asleep together, ready to face the illnesses and major injuries the world may have in store for you when tomorrow comes.
